Rory, there's no way on earth I could possibly describe what you've done for this community. Aside from making it all in the first place, constructing the post-apocalyptic sandbox we all hold so dear, you also pay attention to how it's executed---from basic principles of operation and how we ought to respect each other as players, down to the smallest, weirdest headcanon. It matters to you---which I think is probably the best way to summarize your energy and wisdom, the Rory-ness of it all:

Things matter. People matter. Caring matters.

In a world where we're pretty damn used to moving from one diversion to the next at a moment's notice, you make something that's absolutely set apart by saying, resolutely and passionately, that what we do here really matters.

And you're right, to think that. If you need any further proof that you---Rory---matter, you can look at me writing this damn letter (and swearing every three sentences, sorry). But you in your extremely Ro way, said hey, six years fucking matters, and so do all the people we play with, so let’s get mushy on the main and tell them. And I can tell you to your face you're right and this was a stellar idea because... I do that now. Because of your influence, I'm a better person, one who does actually try and tell people what I think.

You challenge people to care, and to translate their caring into something others can recognize, and reciprocate. You’re never afraid to point out the importance of saying things and leaving a meaningful mark, becoming an active part of our community instead of staying in our own heads (as introverts on the internet are prone to doing).

You're also a hell of a writer, which is inspirational in itself, and I can’t leave that out of it. Your dedication to your characters, to their motivations and struggles, shines through in every post you make, and you don't let fear or insecurity take root or stop you from doing what you love. You know it's not about achieving perfection, but about collaboration and growth. The way we write is an exercise in discipline and embracing the joys of language, it's not meant to be fine art (though a lot of the stuff you come up with off the cuff blurs the line between the two on a regular basis.) It's really very rude how talented you are.

I won't talk too much more about you and me personally because you already know it pretty well, but I will mention that when I offered to help out with tech stuff, you don't even know how impossible being a full mod felt for me, at the time. I'd just come out of some rough experiences and was ready to never do that again. But over the years, you gave me steps that I could take only when I felt comfortable, and let me accept only the responsibility that I thought I could manage (though you always told me you knew I was more than capable of handling it). In a very real way, with your patience and understanding, you gave me back my confidence, and my willingness to be vulnerable. That's something I won't ever forget.

You have my respect and my friendship, always.

And dear lord, if Tumblr has managed not to self-destruct in the next five or ten years, I really hope we're still around doing this shit. No place I'd rather be.

So it's been a hot minute since I've done one of these. I actually took a little Tumblr break during finals week and the holidays, but I'm happy to be back! I know this isn't actually a selfie, but it's a pretty good representation of the week I just had.

After Christmas, my friends and I spent a few days at a lake house filled with good times, laughter and lots of beer. It was an amazing few days. My friend snapped this pic of me from outside the house, and although I'm not entirely sure what was going on that I'd be standing on a chair at 4:32 pm...I can say with certainty I was damn happy doing it. Being able to spend some time away from life's craziness with my people is exactly what I needed after a stressful year.

I want to wish you all good things to come in 2019. I've only been in this fandom for a little while but I really do feel grateful to be a part of this crazy place. Today marks one year since I was hungover af and laying in bed browsing Netflix for a new show to binge. Boy, am I happy I stumbled across the 100. In just a few short months, I'll be at Conageddon hopefully meeting some of you😊 and Bob and Eliza like ajdndhdk

Chapter 19 - The Assassins

The ‘I love yous’ slowly started to trickle in after Wanda’s declaration. After saying it to her I felt I needed to tell the others considering I felt it for them too. I still knew that for a lot of them I may never hear those particular words in that particular order. That didn’t matter to me. It just mattered to me that they knew.

Sam said it back almost automatically. Like he’d been waiting to say it but was a little bit scared to go first. He didn’t like to make a big deal of it though, and if I went overboard at all he’d tell me to stop getting mushy.

Natasha was the next one to return it. It took a little longer and when she did say it, she made a big deal about it. It wasn’t just an ‘I love you too’. She pulled me aside and told me how much I meant to her. How she had trouble expressing herself. How happy she was that I’d put myself out there to make this work. Then she had told me she loved me. We kissed and she left the room as quickly as she could. I didn’t see her again until the next day.

Clint wouldn’t say the words out loud. I did find though if I signed them to him, he’d sign them back. He wouldn’t do it if Natasha was looking. It was like it was a secret just between the two of us.

Steve told me the day he had to take Clint on a mission for a few days. He pulled me aside just before he got on the Quinjet, dressed in his uniform and ready to go. He’d said, ‘I love you, El. Take care of yourself.’ He then kissed my forehead and got on the plane. It made me anxious. I worried that he’d just said some final goodbye to me.

“He’s a punk. Don’t worry about it.” Bucky said as I sat on the recliner opposite both him and Natasha, hugging my knees.

“Why’d he have to tell me then? It was super final.” I whined.

“He probably did tell you just in case he didn’t come back. He’s had people in the past he didn’t do that with. But he’s coming back.” Bucky said firmly.

“Didn’t come back that one time he crashed a plane in the ice,” I muttered.

“Woah, doll. Come on now.” Bucky said leaning forward and rubbing my knees.

“He’s coming back, Mishka. You don’t need to worry. But this is the job we have. It has risks. If something did happen, he wanted you to know he feels the same way for you. That’s all.” Natasha explained. “That is something you need to come to terms with.”

“But I don’t want to come to terms with it,” I whined.

Bucky looked at the others. “What’s the sleeping arrangement tonight?”

“Well, I’m with you,” Nat said.

“Tony and Bruce are caught up in the lab, they’ll probably stay together. I was going with Sam.” Wanda added.

“You want to join me and Tasha, Elly?” Bucky asked, his thumbs drawing circles on my bare thighs.

“But you don’t like it when I sleep in with you. In case…” I trailed off. He knew why he didn’t like me actually sleeping over. He was worried about waking up trying to kill me. 1. Best childhood memory?

A year or so before my mom died, she took me and my sister to Dairy Queen for ice cream cones, letting us get a bigger size than usual, and we talked about what to get my dad for his birthday. It might sound silly but it’s my happiest memory of her.

2. What are you most proud of?

I’m on my school’s honor council because my teachers like and trust me. Having the respect from the people I respect the most is really meaningful!

3. If you could only keep 5 possessions, what would you keep?

My guitar, my favorite shoes, and the 3 items of clothing that would sell for the most (so I can start re-buying stuff).

4. Favorite Disney song

I really like “Be Prepared” from the Lion King, but mostly because I think it’s hilarious that Jeremy Irons sang a song in a Disney movie!

No. I took Latin for 6 years and I’m in Spanish right now, though. Fun fact: my dad is from El Salvador and tried to make me and my twin sister bilingual, but as soon as we went to daycare we figured out that everyone knew English so we just stopped using Spanish. So yeah, I could be bilingual but 3-year-old me screwed it up :/

7. Have you ever experienced paranormal activity?

Do demons count? I’ve definitely had demons try to psych me out before but they can’t scare me anymore. The sign of the cross, you guys! It’s the biggest “fuck you” to evil that there is. Also, humor. Jesus has a great sense of humor; demons do not. They have no chill and it’s hilarious.

Also, there was this one time that I was walking with some friends and we all saw a dog go behind a bush; when we walked past the bush like 5 seconds later, there was no dog in sight. We looked everywhere but the dog had literally vanished. It was the weirdest thing.

8. Summer or winter? Why?

Winter!!! Where I live it’s in the triple digits all summer, and the most snow I’ve ever seen is 6 inches. I love winter.

Honestly, neither; my twin sister is super organized so I don’t have to be haha.

Expressions: She’s Italian come on, she talks with her hands and face. Residence: She lives in London with her mum, though she often goes to America to see her father and his side of the family. She went to surprise her dad in Birmingham when she found out he came to the UK and didn’t tell her, just to realise he was here for business. When in Small Heath, she stays at her grandmother and grandfather’s place.

Political Affiliation: She has little to no interest in politics

Friends: She’s so damn friendly, she will be friends with the old lady down the road and the 7 year olds playing in the fields. She can befriend anyone in the AU. I feel like Polly would love her rebel, adventurous nature and she’s probably the one that gets Ada in trouble by dragging her out all the time. She knows Lizzie liked her uncle Angel and was prohibited to see him because of gang rivalry, so she confesses her feelings for Michael and they bond on the fact they had\have the same issue, as the Changrettas will probably never allow Ele to be with Michael.

Enemies: OK idk if she should be enemies with the Shelbys after they beef her family and kill her father, or if she actually wanted them to kill him??? So I’ll leave that up to you; though I’d love her to have a hate\love relationship with them and especially Michael, where she likes him for all the wrong reasons.

Boss: Though he never involved her in any gang activities, her father is her boss; anything she does, wants to do or dreams of has to be run and approved by him. Or at least that’s what she makes him think. If she was ever to do any ‘jobs’ she would definitely be loyal and work for her family.

Pets: None in London, she has a black horse called Cenere in Birmingham that lives at her grandparents’.

Finances: Upper class gang-rich but has to hide it, or at least not flaunt it

Marital Status: Single

Sex Life: I’m very comfortable with her being subject to smut, and so is she (we ask, cos consent is everything). She has only ever slept with her ex, but she’s trynna get MICHAEL

Lovers: She’s had a boyfriend in London, an Italian boy her dad set her up with, but he was never really her thing. She’s a flirt alert: does it with anyone and everyone for the (her own) fun and amusement, but would never just sleep around. Michael caught her eye and she’s trying to show him that when she flirts with him it’s something real.

Turn-ons: A dom man. DIRTY TALK and MOANING and just being LOUD AF. Loves it when other people hear it and even acknowledge it (she used to be loud just to piss her dad off, but she found out she actually loves it).

Winking: they’re such small signs that say so much. Being physical, e.g. tickles, poking, slaps, hugs, grabbing, squeezes, anything involving him touching her and vice versa in public (and not). Big rough hands, broad shoulders and chest, muscly arms.

Work Experience: Luca refuses to let her take part in the family business, however she secretly followed him countless times when he went to ‘get jobs done’ and learnt a lot by watching him. She volunteers to teach kids how to write and reads stories at an orphanage in London. When in Birmingham she teaches the kids at Tommy’s Institute painting techniques and literature (this could be after all the beef with her fam and the pbs is done).

Religion: She believes in a God. She doesn’t even come close to religious, but her family taught her that there is a God of creation out there and someone to look to, if she ever needs it, though they rely more on Saints.

Criminal Record: Her dad said no

Morals: She breaks the rules and does whatever her dad tells her not to, what can ya do? She would only do illegal things for family, loyalty and vengeance. I kinda want her to learn to forgive, unlike her family???

Main Goal: She went to Birmingham to surprise her dad, but after learning his business with the Peakys she begs him to let her get involved, to which he finally agrees. He puts her charm to use by making her a ‘bait’ to get information and distract the boys. After she meets Michael she questions her role and involvement in the job

Ambitions: She wants her paintings to be displayed in an art gallery one day, as painting is the one thing that no one taught her or gave to her, it is something she found and cultivated herself.

Regrets: Na, she ain’t got time.

Secrets: Ofc all the times she rebelled against her dad’s disapproval of something and did it anyway, and the times she secretly followed him while he was doing business.

Ah yes, she shot one man in her life… who is it??? idk is it Luca??? no?? yes??

Best memories: Travelling to the US to see her dad and her cousins.

Worst memories: Being discriminated against for being mixed\of colour. Feeling lonely at times, because most of the Italian kids knew who her father was and didn’t want to be her friend.

Hobbies: drinking, breaking rules, painting, teaching kids

Skills: Painting, shooting with either hand, sewing clothes, making men want her

Likes: attention, being in company, children, partying, pissing her dad off

Dislikes: being alone, showing emotions, being vulnerable and not in control of a situation

Guilty Pleasures: Baking, I know I said no mushy cutie pie stuff but she loves to bake

Strengths: 1) She can make anyone comfortable around her in no time 2) extremely manipulative and convincing 3) has a fearless sense of adventure 4) could charm a snake 5) has a small emotional depth, so feelings for people are never a problem, until ofc Mikey 6) hiding sensations, others can’t tell how she feels about things

Accent: London accent, but quite posh

Voice: Suave, like she’s constantly flirting while talking. It has a lot of tonalities (singy-songy) like Italians talk.

Reputation: Will get you in trouble, but extremely fun to be around. A rebel. Loyal.

Backstory:

Eleonora’s mum (Jeanette) and dad (Luca) met in NY and fell in love, but interracial relationships were extremely stigmatised, so when Jeanette fell pregnant, he moved her to London, where she gave birth and relocated permanently. Ele’s mother ‘works’ (not that she needs to, Luca maintains her well) for Alfie, where she passes as a single black mother to cover up her real identity as Luca’s love. Ele’s father and his family absolutely adore her, but refuse to bring her to the US permanently because of the higher dangers with Al Capone, and the discrimination she and her mum might face because of their mixed-race relationship with Luca (he might just start a killing spree otherwise).

Ele grew up being trained to kill by her dad and occasionally her grandfather; she begs to be involved in the gang, although her family refuse to let her do any work related to that.

She brings the party wherever she goes and is extremely fun to be around, but doesn’t open up to anyone but her mum about her feelings, emotions or even issues, though most of the time she just deals with it all herself. She has a very stable and happy life, so good that she hates how boring and easy it is to get things, so she rebels, completely ignores any instructions from her father and does whatever she pleases anyway. As a child, Eleonora and her mother would go to Birmingham and sneak to see her grandparents, and though people saw her here and there on the streets a few times, no one knew she was related to them. Before going to surprise her dad, she hadn’t been to Birmingham for about 7 years.

Okay...so my husband has a 2004 Subaru WRX - bought from a private dealer. We have a car loan from our bank with no extended warranty.
