What do you think about the pacing of this one? I feel like 4 pages would've make it feel... less abrupt and jumpy at time? Struggled quite a bit with imagining the scenes in this one lol, also why it took me so long to get to it...

But hey, it's here finally! Hope ya enjoy it!

With that aside, I also have an announcement to make...

I'm writing this with tears trailing down my cheeks that this might be my last time working on the AU 😔. I have made too much shitpost and sent Uber cringy undertale memes and now a decision is made that I might have to part from the team for the sake of Uber's sanity. The next comic you see will be of a different artist.

I always wanted to say something about how weird is being a senior in high school and for the first time you see that almost everyone in your class has a elder pet

it’s weird because finally hits that you and that little creature are now old, the same dog or cat or bird that was with you when you finished elementary school, or when you cried over being a teenager for the first time, the one that you probably have a photo when you two were younger is now elder

they don’t have the same energy as before, they’re now going to a new fase and so are you.

Currently laying on the ground with Luna she whined when getting up and her back foot kept knuckling over when she was walking so I'm just trying to get her to rest. She has a senior pets blood panel for organ functions a urinalysis and a heart analysis test running at the vet it should be done by Friday and they'll call us with the results. The vet we saw is worried it could be dilated cardiomyopathy which in a nearly 10 year old Irish wolfhound cross is a fair concern. The good news about that is there is a medication for that which can double her time left, the bad news would be whatever the price for it is I don't know what it will be and I can't work to pitch in to pay for it so it's entirely up to my parents if we go the medication route or just wait to see how long she still has good Quality of life... Needless to say I'm taking this rough we have her eating more again but she's lost at least ten pounds since she was at the vets at the end of summer

About three months after Princess Leia woke up early, expressing symptoms of a neurological event, it happened again.  I woke up to find her in the basement, having somehow come down stairs she’s refused to walk down always.  After carrying her back upstairs and taking her to the courtyard and then coming back into the house with her, I found out how she got downstairs.  She fell down the staircase, not being able to see.  I can’t express how badly it felt to run down after her, not being able to stop her fall. 

Also, I had a scheduled doctor visit with my dad for that morning.  Ugh.  I got the dog into a bathroom, cried with Mom (whose dog this really is) and forged ahead with the usual breakfast routine and the doctor visit.  This was just Dad’s annual exam with his primary care guy, so it went fairly fast.

I picked a different emergency vet this time, and had a much better experience. By the time I got her to the vet, it was clear she could see again, but was clearly confused and agitated. She acted exactly like my dad when he’s completely out of his head and doesn’t know where he is.  We got bumped up the waiting list significantly when I described our morning.

Princess Leia has most likely had a seizure, and temporary blindness is not uncommon afterward.  Like most humans who’ve had a seizure, she wanted to sleep a lot afterward.  I have meds which are to be started if she has another seizure, but otherwise we’re waiting on some blood tests to see if that gives us any specific info about a cause.  If we can find something triggering the seizures, we’ll treat that first.

We had a spare baby gate in the house, and it was deployed to the stairs as soon as I got back from the vet.

Tip #2 Bath

There are two things in the word my hates the first one being the Vet touching her ears and the second and one that happens most common is a bath. You could be blessed with a dog who loves taking baths or like me and having a dog who hates them so much that she yells at me while the water and sprayed on.

I personally use the tube and will be saying hose as in the shower head hose, but sometimes big dogs need big spaces, such as outside in a kiddie pool with the garden hose. 

I can’t help too much with the yelling unless you know your dog enough. I know my dog likes it when we sing, she only likes one song. But recently I have read some research on pet owners who use peanut butter on the side of the tub or you can buy a specials wall mat that they sell at the pet store. Most dogs will take to this, but you have to know your dog. A lot of dogs are food motivated while others need to hear your voice in a kind and calm tone because you stressing is causing them stress.

Next I want to talk about soap, what do you chose? We like to keep a handful of different types firstly we love Tropic Clean dog soap, they even have flea treatment soap. They are all natural eco friendly made for dogs with sensitive skin safe. But if you just need something quick and all purposeful I would suggest Dawn dish soap they fight grease (in old commercials after oil spills) you see them using dawn on ducks and turtles. A little bit goes along away, With a bonus they kill fleas.

Last things to talk about a dog in the bath can be handled safely at home but the bigger the dog or the squirmier the dog the more hands you’ll need. Big dogs make sense to have more than one pair of hands but to you a newly owner to a puppy of a small breed. You think you’ll be okay by yourself washing a chihuahua puppy/dog/elder dog when you find out that they don’t like water and are squirming too much for you to spray off all the soap, and you live alone. I can only suggest wearing clothes you don’t mind getting wet in and comfort hold the dog while spraying the belly or back give them a second before picking up the hose and spraying them, just like you they can be afraid of things that causes anxiety.

I will also say if you take your dog to the groomer, as long as you have money to do it then wonderful the groomers isn’t horrible either, those are people trained to care for pets. But, know your dog if you know they have separation anxiety maybe find a special groomer who takes special house call. 

And to end make sure you give TONS of loves and kisses at the end of the bath, because we all need reminders of who the best girls and boys are.

The Overseer is made by two people, the "I" being used in most of these bottom texts is the writer, but on occasion, the artist will write this part. if the bottom text is referring to "I" or "me" enjoying drawing a particular comic, then the artist is probably writing that one. over and out.

With temperatures regularly getting into the mid 30s and sometimes even up to a truly cursed 40°C we finally bit the bullet and bought a new pool we have had pools before but when our last one got a hole in it we didn't have crazy hot summers as often so my parents didn't think it was worth patching the pool for the amount of work it takes to set up and take down every year(for us Luna has her kiddie pools to splash around in and use as a giant water bowl) sadly we assembled it on very uneven ground and are currently draining it to move it somewhere flatter. Luna just likes that there is a new spot that casts shade for her to lay in if she wants.
