the sun has long since set, and the sky is now only illuminated by the gentle glow of the moon and the twinkle of her surrounding stars. The wind blows steadily in the quiet streets as everyone seeks refuge for the night.

everyone except you.

sitting anxiously by the door, careful not to do so much as a wink, for you might fall asleep and miss it.

miss him.

you don't want to miss him as he walks through the door, with his red hair tied back in a messy ponytail and a tired smile plastered on his face. his musk invading your senses as he practically falls into your embrace, quietly mumbling about his day as he gently kisses along your neck and collarbone.

you don't want to miss the opportunity to lead him to the kitchen table, hanging up his coat along the way, and seating him next to you as you both share a quiet, late dinner.

falling asleep now would mean you wouldn't get to follow him into the bathroom, using the toilet as your seat while he's in the shower, sharing remarks about your day. Eventually, brush your teeth side-by-side in front of the cramped sink.

and then you would follow him to the bedroom, curling up next to him as you both let the stress of the day melt into the sheets, exchanging I love you's before allowing your eyes to close and falling asleep wrapped up in each other's embrace.

that, is why you cannot risk closing your eyes at this moment, you cannot risk the chance to finally enjoy a calming nighttime routine with Diluc.

you must not.

your eyes dart to the clock and back to the door, the minutes tick by ever so slowly, and your brain starts to feel a bit foggy.

you blink.

or at least you thought you did, but when you open your eyes, you can smell the aroma of breakfast wafting in from the kitchen and sunlight creeping through the window shade.

slowly crawling out of bed, you see the sight that you had been wishing to see all night.

red hair draped around his shoulders, a tan apron pressed around his figure, and a pair of pajamas. Diluc stood in front of the stove, turning around to greet you.

even though you didn't get to say good night, at least you got to say good morning.

So... ykno how all of the other neighbors use past tense in their bios except Wally and Home?

Well I had this little thought that when there's not much else to do, Wally would often stand outside Home and wait for his friends. Just there, waiting for them to come around dragging him into whatever silly schemes they have for the day. His own little way of reminiscing about the old times. Or maybe even hoping theyre not completely gone. A habit that gives him something to do at the moment. Something that keeps him grounded while his mind unfurls on itself from the loneliness

Also hot take: Home isn't evil, just really overprotective of Wally since they only got each other left now

Is that canon!?! Was Machete just really naive/didn't really understand the implications of his relationship to Vasco? Did his mentor ever find out about them or discuss such things with him? I assume bc he didn't have parents, he kinda didn't get educated on sex or anything. Was it a big shock to realize he was "sinning"?

#eh I was just exaggerating it for comedy because the page was so unintentionally funny and fitting #he might've been a little bit naive but was painfully aware he was in a relationship with a man and that it was forbidden #his mentor was all about asceticism and mortification and extreme self-denial #and had drilled it into his head that practically all romantic feelings let alone sex were foolish and sinful and should be shunned #so his feelings about the whole thing were complicated but in the end Vasco was more important #not to sound corny #but there was a hole in his heart that he had desperately tried to fill with god that never seemed to care about him #and once he got some of that love he had been aching for #from another living person #he had to do what it takes to make room for that in his belief system #how could such a tender fulfilling and healing thing be wrong #answered #anonymous #his mentor did eventually find out about them and wasn't very happy about it #to put it mildly #but by that point Machete had managed to mostly inch his way out from under his heel #he was graduating and getting ordained and wouldn't be going back to Naples #if it were up to him he'd never want to see him again

ANYWAY what if when mc first came down to the devildom they were like super quiet and standoffish

so instead of trying to do whatever happens in the cannon and getting mammon's pact within 48 hours of knowing hell existed, they just kind of existed with their arms folded up to their chest & a deer in headlights look

A (very random) observation

#honestly though i think there's something to be said about this sort of feeling of closure that ILF has as an album #with the bleak subject matter and some of the lyrics implying apocalyptic scenarios almost #i'm pretty sure i saw some opinions on last wave about how it COULD work as a last tmbg song whether written or performed #it just has this final sort of feeling. and rhythm section want ad is the rare self-referential song so idk it just feels kinda significant #in a sense that both songs stand out a bit from their usual in terms of lyrics. maybe? eh idk #and there is a bit of a 'book-end' type of feel with both songs all things considered #ok i might be entering tmbw interpretations tab levels of looking too deep into it now. sory #but still it's funny that they did this twice (as far as i know) and both times it's the final song on the album #asking questions and screaming are both pretty tmbg things to do at the end of the day though #so maybe this isn't all that odd actually #tmbg #they might be giants

Anyway, the fox girl is kinda maybe my version of Alopex, that said I know nothing about Alopex and I might not give her that name. In My Circus My Turtles, she's sort of Donnie's friend/science partner. They do experiments and build stuff together, but maybe don't hang out much outside of that? I'm still working it out tbh. Also she's blind. So far I'm thinking she does more of the software stuff and Donnie does more of the hardware when it comes to what they make.
