William B. Robison, “The Bard, the Bride, and the Muse Bemused: Katherine of Valois on Film in Shakespeare’s Henry V”, The Palgrave Book of Shakespeare’s Queens (eds. Kavita Mudan Finn, Valerie Schutte, Palgrave Macmillan 2018)
#robison points out in a footnote that the biographies of her out there add very little to the historiography around her#(and of the biographies he cites only one gives her a lengthy treatment - the rest are from compilation biographies of english queens)#(this was also in 2018 so he's not referring to katherine j. lewis's chapter on her which came out this year)#honestly i find this to be very true - that she's always discussed with the same kind of narrative#(i read 3/4 of the biographies he cites and a couple he doesn't and when i was writing the post on catherine as a political agent#i went back and reread them and it was amazing how they all followed the same kind of narrative beats#the wooing scene from shakespeare! did she love henry v? widowhood and attempted romance with edmund beaufort! mrs tudor time! death)#(i'm also reminded of a comment kavita mudan finn made about how tudor-era writings tended to depict catherine's marriage to owen tudor#in a way that subsumes her agency in making the marriage into a wider narrative about the destined rise of the tudors)#and while there's less emphasis on destiny as a mystical force we're still eliding catherine's agency from the story#or pushing it into the realm of the domestic - at least one novel focuses on how her tudor marriage makes catherine abandon the political#world and the trappings of court to focus on her children husband and house - something akin to a housewife#(while still being - of course - the fairest and most fashionable and smartest and hottest woman in the realm)#- and i think it even depicts her gardening. she even celebrates the lives of peasants as the ideal because they're 'free')#(which. what.)#catherine de valois#shakespeare#historiography#historical fiction#historian: william b. robison

about the pro-allison thingy...
I am one of the firm advocates and believers that Allison Reynolds would either go pro or do both (fashion and exy) but recently, I’ve been thinking about her ec and I think I’m beginning to see where Nora came from.
The short summary of the argument for the point of Allison choosing to go pro is this: Allison gave up her millions of dollars of inheritance for exy, got disowned for persisting to play it, and pretty much chose a bastard sport over her privileges. She fought tooth and nail to be a part of the court and despite her looks, she brawled with the best and the best. Therefore, it’s only natural that she pursues it in the future, right? Right??
That’s what I thought too, but then that leaves a new question unanswered: why is it given that she pursues it in the future? Does that mean an effort of fighting for something you love is futile unless it’s the end goal? Does your passion for something need to be your destination for it to be a worthy dream to fight for?
And I will be completely contradicting my prior Allison-centric posts but no, I think the answer is no. Because the truth is, Allison didn’t fought for exy. Exy was the thing that made her fight back from her controlling and overbearing parents, it was the thing that made her feel alive and free. And while she chose to play collegiate exy over her millions of inheritance, it isn’t something she necessarily see pursuing in the future and I think that’s okay. It doesn’t make her fight for it worthless and it wouldn’t render that choice a downgrade to her character because the fight wasn’t about exy at all. It’s about what she wants and exy just so happened to be the catalyst at that moment. She didn’t gave everything up for a sport she ended up not pursuing full-time— she gave it all up for control of her life. And if what pushes her to do so is not a dream she plans to pursue full-time but a mere hobby that she could come back to from time to time, something that gives her a short thrill but not the thing that she can see herself doing for the rest of her life, the stop point or journey along the way but not necessarily the destination— is that really so wrong?

𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮
Thomas Shelby x Reader
Warning: Smut
Tumblr media
Her dress was white like the Arctic Snow.
Her cheeks were red like the Chrysler Imperial.
A glance was all it took for one to deduce that Y/N Elliot stuck out like a sore thumb amidst the sea of greys in the grimy streets of Birmingham.
With her short tight curls and her eyes that seemed untinged with the horrors that plagued the notorious English town, she was a sight to behold.
Mr. Elliot was the preacher at the local Presbyterian Church, but his daughter evoked the urge to sin in the minds of the lads of the town.
 And again, a glance was all it took for one to fixate upon this seemingly other worldly apparition that roamed the streets of Birmingham with her teasing smile and her plump red lips.
And Thomas Michael Shelby was no exception.
Soon the occasional glances that he threw her way should they ever cross paths turned into waiting by the front of her house to escort her to finishing school, much to the dismay of the girl’s father.
The young Elliot girl was infatuated with the older man. The boys that previously courted her couldn’t hold a candle to his suave. With his cigarettes and his well pressed suits, Tommy Shelby was simply a dream come true for the impressionable girl.
She couldn’t care less about her parents’ disapproval of their relation, nor did she care about what the towns folk had to say.
‘He loves me, and I love him and that’s all that matters’ she assured herself each night.
The two soon became inseparable, the leader of the Peaky blinders even barged inside the school and pulled his darling out of the classroom simply because he ‘missed’ her. The teachers and staff knew better than to obstruct the infamous gangster.
The two went to the fair that day. He bought her all the dainty little trinkets that her heart desired. She didn’t go easy on the spending too; she knew his pockets wouldn’t hurt from her silly purchases.
And for his kind generosity, she rewarded him with her first kiss.
A simple kiss on the lips; that’s how it started but it soon turned heated and passionate.
It goes without saying that she lost her purity to him, right in the backseat of the black Ford.
Still clad in her school attire, she sat on his lap with his hands encircling her lithe waist.
He left a trail of kisses down her exposed collarbone, his hands working to unbutton her shirt which her mother had carefully pressed that morning.
The chemise underneath soon found itself discarded on the floor of the vehicle.
Her pink coloured bra was on full display for him. The more conservatively fashioned fabric did little to hide the fullness of the plump breasts underneath.
Her breath was shallow as she looked at him with those beautiful doe eyes of hers.
Her cheeks tinted with arousal and her eyes misty with desire.
She was a sight to behold as she guided his hand to cup her left breast, telling him that she was ready.
Tommy couldn’t contain himself any longer and his fingers found themselves unclasping the fabric that shielded her modesty. He sucked with urgency on her perky nipples while he kneaded the other, giving equal attention to both of those glorious mounds.
Y/N was a squirming mess. She loved the feeling of his hot mouth as he showered her with his touch.
She could feel her panties dampen with each passing second. No boy had ever made her this hot and bothered.
She needed more of him. She needed his touch.
Tommy could feel the wetness on his thighs as the girl began grinding herself on his thighs.
“Eager, aren’t we?” he teased with a raspy drawl.
God! This girl was driving him crazy.
He continued trailing his kisses down her stomach and halted at the waistband of her skirt.
He swiftly tossed the heavy garment aside along with her garter and knickers.
She was on full display for him. For him and his eyes only.
He couldn’t peel his eyes off her body.
She had bewitched him.
Sure, Thomas Shelby had been with his fair share of women before her, but he had never felt so strongly for any woman before, nor did he think he could ever.
Not after this.
Not after her.
His thumb slid across her clit, eliciting a beautiful moan from her.
Gently, he prodded her glistening hole with a finger.
She was too tight.
He thrusted his finger inside her as she coated him in her lewd liquid.
Now two fingers.
He was thrusting her insides with just two fingers, yet it completely filled her up.
She was a panting mess.
She could feel his now bulging erection poking against her bare butt.
Just as she could find her release, he extracted his fingers from the throbbing pussy, making her cry in desperation.
“Tommy please.” she purred as she met his pale blue irises. She was a whimpering, desperate mess.
“Just a minute darling.” he assured her as he hurriedly unbuckled his belt and freed his pulsating swollen cock.
Y/N wasn’t sure how he was going to fit his fat cock inside her tight pussy, but she didn’t care anymore. All she wanted was for him to fill her up and make love to her.
He carefully lined his cock that was leaking with precum to her entrance and gently entered her hole.
Just the tip was in and even then, Y/N was threatening to spill teardrops from her lustful eyes.
“It’ll only hurt for a second, Darling.” he whispered in her ear as he forced himself inside of her virgin cunt.
Y/N was seeing stars.
Oh! The pain and the pleasure; both feelings intertwined as she felt him thrusting inside of her giving rise to this otherworldly feeling of ecstasy.
Tommy couldn’t control himself inside of her as he pounded into her.
Her tight pussy was driving him mad with pleasure.
He could see the scarlet testament of her purity flowing down her thighs as he corrupted her innocence.
She was his.
No one else’s.
The two continued their lovemaking, completely engulfed in the throngs of their union.
That night, as they lay in the meadow on the English countryside, with his hands around her and her head on his chest, they looked up at the sky that bear witness to their passions.
And that faithful day, Thomas Shelby made a woman out of Y/N Elliot.

Pink is for Boys
"Pink or Blue? Which is intended for boys and which for girls? This question comes from one of our readers this month, and the discussion may be of interest to others. There has been a great diversity of opinion on this subject, but the generally accepted rule is pink for the boy and blue for the girl. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl." ~ The Infants' Department, June 1918

Pink is for girls and blue is for boys. But it hasn't always been this way. Colour coding infants as a way of denoting gender was popular in 20th century America. The problem? Pink and blue? Which is for boys and which is for girls?
In 1927 TIME Magazine asked ten of the "leading stores that sell baby equipment" which colour was for which gender. Four stores responded pink for girls and blue for boys; Macy's (Manhattan), Franklin Simon (Manhattan), Wanamaker's (Philadelphia) and Bullock's (Los Angeles). Five stores responded pink for boys and blue for girls; Best's (Manhattan), Marshall Field's (Chicago), Filene's (Boston), Maison Blanche (New Orleans) and The White House (San Francisco). Curiously Halle's (Cleveland) responded that pink was for both boys and girls.
This debate would continue and it wasn't until mid-20th century that pink for girls and blue for boys became firmly cemented in western culture.
However the idea of colour coding infants dates back to the 19th century. According to La cour de Hollande sous le règne de Louis Bonaparte in 1808 in Holland pink was used to announce the birth of a girl and blue a boy. In March 1856 Peterson's Magazine (Philadelphia, USA) advises that the ribbon on a christening cap should be blue for a boy and pink for a girl. On the 23rd of July 1893 the New York Times writes that for baby clothes it's "pink for a boy and blue for a girl!"

[The Oddie Children, oil on canvas, c. 1789, by William Beechey, via North Carolina Museum of Art.]
During the latter half of the 18th century one of the most popular outfits for young children, regardless of gender, was a white dress with a coloured sash tied around the waist. Pink and blue being the most popular colours, although other colours were worn as well. It would be tempting to assume that the colour of the sash indicated gender but there isn't clear evidence that this was the case. The Oddie Children (above) depicts Sarah, Henry, Catherine, and Jane Oddie. The three girls are all wearing white dresses; two with a blue sash one with a pink sash. We also see Henry Russell (bellow left) wearing a blue sash and Prince William (bellow right) wearing a pink sash.

Pink was just one of the many colours popular in 18th century English womenswear and seems to have stayed popular throughout the century. On the 3rd of January 1712 The Spectator published an article in which a man recalls seeing "a little Cluster of Women sitting together in the prettiest coloured Hoods that I ever saw. One of them was Blew, another Yellow, and another Philomot; the fourth was of a Pink Colour, and the fifth of a pale Green". On the 1st of May 1736 the Read's Weekly Journal, or British Gazetteer reports that the ladies attending the royal wedding wore gowns of "Gold stuffs, or rich Silks with Gold or Silver Flowers, or Pink or White Silks, with either Gold or Silver Netts or Trimmings;" shoes either "Pink, White or Green Silk, with Gold or Silver Lace and braid all over." On the 24th of May 1785 Charles Storer writes to Abigail Adams advising that fashionable colours in English court dress are "pink, lilac, and blue" such "as is worn at Versailles".

In particular pink was popular amongst young women as the colour was associated with youth. Older women who wore pink were mocked as vain for dressing in a way that was seen as improper for their age. On the 31st of January 1754 Lady Jane Coke writes to Mrs. Eyre criticising old women who wear pink:
As for fashions in dress, which you sometimes inquire after, they are too various to describe. One thing is new, which is, there is not such a thing as a decent old woman left, everybody curls their hair, shews their neck, and wears pink, but your humble servant. People who have covered their heads for forty years now leave off their caps and think it becomes them, in short we try to out-do our patterns, the French, in every ridiculous vanity.
Tumblr media
[Folly Embellishing Old Age With the Adornments of Youth, oil on canvas, c. 1743, by Charles-Antoine Coypel, via Master Art.]
For Englishmen acceptable clothing way much more limited. In A Foreign View of England in the Reigns of George I & George II Monsieur César de Saussure writes that Englishmen "do not trouble themselves about dress, but leave that to their womenfolk". He explains:
Englishmen are usually very plainly dressed, they scarcely ever wear gold on their clothes; they wear little coats called "frocks," without facings and without pleats, with a short cape above. Almost all wear small, round wigs, plain hats, and carry canes in their hands, but no swords. Their cloth and linen are of the best and finest. You will see rich merchants and gentlemen thus dressed, and sometimes even noblemen of high rank, especially in the morning, walking through the filthy and muddy streets.
César de Saussure warns that "a well-dressed person in the streets, especially if he is wearing a braided coat, a plume in his hat, or his hair tied in a bow, he will, without doubt, be called "French dog" twenty times perhaps before he reaches his destination" and is not only at risk of "being jeered at" but also "being bespattered with mud, but as likely as not dead dogs and cats will be thrown at him."
Tumblr media
[Reverend Charles Everard Booth, Captain Griffith Booth, and an Unidentified Man playing Billiards, oil on canvas, c. 1775-9, by John Hamilton Mortimer, via the Royal Collection Trust.]
For Englishmen dressing "plainly" mostly meant wearing blacks and browns. In his book on macaroni, Pretty Gentleman, Peter McNeil found that in contrast most English menswear that he describes as generally consisting of "monochrome broadcloth" macaroni wore a variety of colours including green, orange, yellow, violet, red, white, blue, gold, silver and of course pink.
But it's not just the macaroni of the 1770s & 1780s that wore pink. We see pink in descriptions of feminine men's dress (both real and fictional) throughout the 18th century.
On the 2nd of June 1722 Sarah Osborn writes to Robert Byng:
I believe the gentlemen will wear petticoats very soon, for many of their coats were like our mantuas. Lord Essex had a silver tissue coat, and pink color lutestring waistcoat, and several had pink color and pale blue paduasoy coats, which looked prodigiously effeminate.
On the 18th of October 1729 the Universal Spectator and Weekly Journal published a story where an "effeminate" man's clothes were described as follows:
He had a flower'd pink-colour Silk Coat, with a Green-Sattin Waistcoat lac'd with Silver. Velvet Breeches, Clock'd Stockings the Colour of his Coat, Red-heel'd Pumps, a Blue Ribbon at the Collar of his Shirt, and his Sword-Hilt he embrac'd under the Elbow of his Left Arm,
Tumblr media
[Sir Miles Stapylton, 4th Bt of Myton, oil on canvas, c. 1730-35, via Art UK.]
In The Adventures of Roderick Random (1748) the effeminate (and queer coded) Captain Whiffle is described as follows:
our new commander came on board in a ten-oared barge, overshadowed with a vast umbrella, and appeared in everything the reverse of Oakum, being a tall, thin young man, dressed in this manner: a white hat, garnished with a red feather, adorned his head, from whence his hair flowed upon his shoulders, in ringlets tied behind with a ribbon. His coat, consisting of pink-coloured silk, lined with white, by the elegance of the cut retired backward, as it were, to discover a white satin waistcoat embroidered with gold, unbuttoned at the upper part to display a brooch set with garnets, that glittered in the breast of his shirt, which was of the finest cambric, edged with right Mechlin: the knees of his crimson velvet breeches scarce descended so low as to meet his silk stockings, which rose without spot or wrinkle on his meagre legs, from shoes of blue Meroquin, studded with diamond buckles that flamed forth rivals to the sun! A steel-hilted sword, inlaid with gold, and decked with a knot of ribbon which fell down in a rich tassel, equipped his side; and an amber-headed cane hung dangling from his wrist. But the most remarkable parts of his furniture were, a mask on his face, and white gloves on his hands, which did not seem to be put on with an intention to be pulled off occasionally, but were fixed with a curious ring on the little finger of each hand.
Tumblr media
[Henry Ingram, 7th Viscount Irwin and His Wife Anne, oil on canvas, c. 1745, by Philippe Mercier, via Art UK.]
On the 28th of July 1780 the London Courant reports:
A few days ago, a Macaroni made his appearance in the Assembly-room at Whitehaven, in the Following dress: a mixed silk coat, pink sattin waistcoat and breeches, covered with an elegant silver nett, white silk stockings with pink clocks, pink sattin shoes and large pearl buckles, a mushroom coloured stock, covered with a fine point lace; his hair dressed remarkably high, and stuck full of pearl pins.
On the 6th of August 1792 The Weekly Entertainer published Sketches and Portraits form the Life by Simon Tueopnrastus which included the following description:
Mercator was a youth of some genius and expectation, but by a strange perverseness of disposition, notwithstanding the extreme natural stiffness of his limbs, he had acquired an early attachment to the most finical and effeminate finery; so that, while yet a boy, he would exhaust every expedient of a fertile invention to procure a laced waistcoat, or the most foppish toy; would dangle a watch-string, with brass seals, from each fob, at a time when the frugal care of his parents would not permit him to wear a watch in either; and would strut in a fine pair of second-hand pink silk breeches, and a light blue coat, with all the formal dignity of—a soldier upon the parade.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Left: Thomas King in "The Clandestine Marriage", oil on canvas, c. 1792, by Samuel De Wilde, via Yale Center for British Art.

While pink is mentioned in these descriptions of feminine men's dress it's not singled out as the girl colour the way pink would become in the 20th century. I would argue pink is seen as effeminate not because pink is a uniquely feminine colour but because it was used in fashionable dress. In 18th century England being interested in fashion was seen as an frivolous female trait. Men who showed too much interest in fashion were mocked and ridiculed for their gender nonconformity. "A Man must sink below the Dignity of his Nature, before he can suffer his Thoughts to be taken up on so trivial an Affair, as the Chosing, Suiting, and Adjusting the Adornments of his Person," complains a letter published on the 8th of May 1731 in Read's Weekly Journal, or British Gazetteer:
Decency of Garb ought inviolably to be preserved; nor can there be possibly an Excuse for Dressing like a Merry-Andrew: Rich and coloured Silks are in themselves effeminate, and unbecoming a Man; as are, in short, all Things that discover Dress to have been his Study 'Tis in vain for a Fop of Quality, to think his Title will protect him.

English fashion was highly influenced by French fashion. A popular colour scheme in French fashion was green and pink. A famous example of this colour pairing can be seen in François Boucher's portrait of Madame de Pompadour (above left), she is depicted in a green gown with pink bows and flowers. You can see and example of how this style inspired English fashion in Thomas Gainsborough's portrait of Elizabeth Wrottesley (above right), who is depicted in a green gown with a floral pattern adorned with pink, white and green striped bows.

Fashionable Englishmen were also inspired by these French designs. Horace Walpole refers to the popularity of the colour combination writing to Lady Ossory on the 19th of February 1774 "If I went to Almack's and decked out my wrinkles in pink and green like Lord Harrington, I might still be in vogue". Almack's is referring to Almack's Assembly Rooms on Pall Mall which is believed to be the inspiration for the Macaroni Club. (see Pretty Gentleman by Petter McNeil p52-55) In a letter to Lord Harcourt on the 27th of July 1773 Walpole writes of "Macaronis lolling out of windows at Almack's like carpets to be dusted."

Men who wore green seem to have been just as much, if not more, at risk of being ridiculed, or even assaulted, for the colour of their clothes as those who wore pink. In Pierre Jean Grosley's A Tour to London (originally published 1772) he recalls traveling with a young English surgeon who was harassed by Londoners due to his green French frock coat:
At the first visit which he paid me in London, he informed me, that, a few days after his arrival, happening to take a walk thro' the fields on the Surry side of the Thames, dressed in a little green frock, which he had brought from Paris, he was attacked by three of those gentlemen of the mobility, who, taking him for a Frenchman, not only abused him with the foulest language, but gave him two or three slaps on the face: "Luckily, added he in French, I did not return their ill language; for, if I had, they would certainly have thrown me into the Thames, as they assured me they would, as soon as they perceived I was an Englishman, if I ever happened to come in their way again, in my Paris dress."

Hii! 🌟
So..i want ask for request about CEO ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
What if one day reader is caught sketching the CEO in some fancy clothes? Would he like to wear this for reader?
(Thank you in advance! Hope u have really good day 👁️〰️👁️)
/// sorry for my English kinda bad at grammar (ง’̀-‘́)ง
He'll wear anything you make.
💌 ⤻ THE CEO, Adrian Houde
—> he's your muse, you're his obsession.
⤻ reader is gender neutral, reader has a crush on Adrian, obsessive behaviour, posessive thoughts, snooping, fluff, red flags but they aren't so apparent.
notes: i altered the prompt a bit, i hope you don't mind but thank you for the ask! i'm glad you like adrian as much as i do. feel free to send in more asks! love the cute emoticons btw <3 did not proofread, we die like men.
Tumblr media
Adrian strolled about the fashion department, his hands raking across the abandoned tables now that everyone had headed home. He rolled up his sleeves to check the time as he walked past the messy and cluttered desks, the heels of his shoes clacking against the floor.
One might ask, what was the CEO of the company doing so late at the fashion department? Everyone had gone home, clocking off early for the holidays — even the ever-busy fashion team — except him. His blue eyes raked across the table as he searched for your table, and finally, he came across it and smiled.
You didn't have a table before, you cramped alongside the lower level employees but well, Adrian pulled some strings here and there for you to get your own table.
It also made it easier for him to look through your belongings.
"Hm?" He hummed when he saw an unfamiliar book on the table. He had memorised every detail of your table, to the point where he knew where you put your emergency snacks — sometimes even refilling them for you anonymously — but this sketchbook was new.
He knew it was wrong to sneak into someone's belongings, and his grandmother would no doubt absolutely pulverise him for such ungentlemanly actions but you already belonged to him. You didn't, but you would soon.
He was slowly cracking you down, he knew. Adrian could still see the blush on your face when you were caught staring at him for too long.
His nimble hands reached for the book and flipped through them. The pages crinkling in his hands as he gazed at all of the different designs. His eyes slowly widened as he recognised the dimples on the model's face, the tousled blonde hair, the dashing pale blue eyes, and the silhouettes you had crafted just for him. The suits, some dresses, some eccentric, some more subdued, and multiple designs made with styles he had a penchant for.
He smiled, knowing that you had to have been observing him rather closely to be able to craft such flattering outfits for him.
"Hah," he breathed out, feeling his cheeks heat up. "You're driving me crazy." He whispered to himself as he felt his entire body grow hot.
He continued to flip through the pages, taking in the sight of him as your muse. He almost wanted to hop in his car and drive off to your house now just to kiss you but he had to restrain himself.
He was a gentleman; even if he snuck into your belongings. He would wait for a while more. His grandmother had always said that a prolonged courting period was needed, filled with flowers, chocolates, gifts, and, of course, polite flirting.
He placed the book on the floor and snapped a few pictures, making sure to make it look accidental, like he had just stumbled across it and sent it to you.
Adrian. H: Stumbled across a cute little thing on the way to a late-night meeting. Mind if I get it privately made? I'd love to wear something you made.
He smirked, knowing that you would fluster. He just wished you were here just so he could see colour fill your face. He made a note to visit the fashion department during lunchtime just to tease you further. Maybe he'd even wear something akin to your designs tomorrow.
He just wanted to get this courting phase over so he could wrap you in his arms like a snake and never let go.
Your sketchbook was practically an invitation for him to do so.

At it again, from another angle this time.
‘Old’ weapons. Or at least redundant, as a species traverses into space the new technology makes an old gun or even older sword/arrow/spear and so on useless and nearly powerless. The new weapons are ‘ray this’ and ‘beam that’ ‘plasma so and so’ .
Ofcourse this makes sense, the energy based weapons are far less wasteful and lighter, easier to carry and easier to handle. No need to sharpen weapons with a plasma blade and even then, why use close quarters weapons if you have access to stun, kill or poison rays and many more.
On top of that many civilisations prefer to forget their less then stellar past and make analog weapons obsolete. When the humans joined the council many expected them to do the same. They didn’t, production stopped yes, but interested people could still partake in lessons and the old fashioned ways were shown off in museums. Training to be part of a spaceship crew still included lessons in their old weapons as an opportunity to be prepared for going to “newer” worlds.
So with that in mind i have a few little vignettes ideas and for ease’ sake its gonna be on the same ship, the Serpentine.
Important crew:
Primoz, captain -Limoyh a four armed species-
Krag, second in command (brother of Primoz)
Kit, dokter -avian, bird like, she has feathers like a swallow-
Ortez, ASR (all species resources, human resources in space) -kiltak, insectoid species, think ants but exoskeleton-
Lugea, helmsperson (does the steering) -rock like alien-
Artex, engineer/mechanic 1 -also Kiltak-
And then our humans:
Kamari, navigator -Eritrean woman- (has cat named Sidra)
Markus, weapons expert (knows how to use them and upkeep, also shields) -Swedish man-
Petrus, mechanic/engineer 2 -Italian man-
Lilly, administrator/note keeper (learns languages for fun)-english woman-
Yes i know all of this could have also been accomplished by saying they are all from America… nope this is more fun. This is under the assumption that to get into the joint academy for space faring you need to be able to speak and write English.
Obviously there are more people on the ship but these are most important

Ortez was having a good day, the serpentine had left port and was making good progress toward their next destination on w-kl-18, referred to as deltax by it’s residents, for a routine drop off.
In port on Unity (the planet where the council resides and the universal court is) they picked up the final crew members among who a ‘team’ of humans. Pre bonded humans were supposed to be less chaos inducing and easier bonded with the rest of the crew. Ortez was rather happy the captain listened to him on this matter.
The humans had been more diverse than he expected and were currently what they called ‘settling in’. He was on his way to the rooms they had.
‘Stop it please we’ve been here less than 4 hours!’ The soft voice he recognises as Lilly’s is barely audible over the loud clanging sounds. Rounding the corner Ortez sees a terrifying scene. The two human males locked together with two sticks made of metal baring teeth at each other, with a push the olive skinned man, he remembers is called Petrus, breaks the hold and goes in low swiping at the tall mans legs making Markus fall over.
Ortez is about to intervene when without a sound the dark skinned leader of the group seemingly appears without a sound behind him and runs into the fray with a similar stick.
Whacking Petrus stick away from Markus’ throat she steps inbetween “stop it. You’re scaring our ASR. We want to make a good impression remember.” The men look right at him and both put down the sticks, Markus puts his hand up in a ‘wave’ “sorry about that, Ortez it was right? We were just sparring.’ Moving further into the room he uncurls his front two claws tapping at the metal poles “sparring with this? We usually only do body to body training, this seems rather old.” Petrus speaks up to that “ah yes those are old earth weapons, we like keeping up a bit of skill with several kinds as a side activity. Don’t worry tho, we train with blunt weapons.”
Not entirely appeased the insectoid looks to the imposing woman, who seems entirely at ease even though two people had been fighting. When she caught his eyes, she smiled that terrible toothy grin “truly don’t worry, like Petrus said they are blunt and it is a way for us to let of some steam and keep in shape. But next time we’ll do it in the training rooms… right boys?” Pinning the two men with withering stares they nodded quickly.
Ortez did not know humans released steam, but he felt right now was not the moment to go into that. Saying his goodbye he skittered to inform the captain.
This was bound to be interesting.
~~~~~~~~~~~
2. “The Roman empire”
“So you are telling me that at any given moment you could be thinking about a several thousand years old society that no longer exists and it would surprise nobody?” Artex was perplexed, when he and Petrus were working on the reactor core Lilly had wandered through and mentioned this old civilisation sparking heated debate. She thought the greeks were far more interesting but Petrus had been unmoved by her arguments. The other man speaks while pushing some buttons “well yea, the empire made great strides and amazing structures, Lilly just prefers the mythos of the greek while i enjoy the focus on millitary prowess.” Shrugging he looks up “don’t you guys have something like that?” Artex stretches his legs, all 6 of them in a wave like motion “not really, when change happened the history books were changed to make it seem like it was always that way” the human makes eye contact “wait so how do you know how to play -old civilisation- as a kid? We play fought with wooden sticks, wooden swords and branches we cut to look like guns…” that horrofied the insectoid, raised with violence like it was a normal thing.
Almost like they never left their dark ages
~~~~~~~~~~~~
3. Whats in a name (bit off topic but the idea just kinda happened)
Te very first time the humans were introduced to their new crew there was a bit of a hiccup. When Kamari introduced herself they looked up a bit confused but went further down the row. After Lilly they came back around and referred to Kamari as moon. Now Kamari recognised the strange look, they had translators that only had basic human translation, which means that her name “Kamari” which comes from Arabic and is a word for moon/soft glow of the moon, is translated fully but not as name so when they speak to her it translates out of their language to English which would be moon. This is luckily easily fixed with an update, but it was something that stil spoke of how new the human race was to the cosmos.
Her cat Sidra made them laugh as that means Star so she was the moon with her star.
(Random thought about how multiple human languages could screw with translations)
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Soooooo kinda had a 4th story that is pretty sad but also bad ass, but this is getting too long already
Imma write that in a new post over the coming days
Hopefully people like this, if you have prompts you’d like to see with this crew feel free to ask.
My content is usually for Keanu Reeves and his characters, but @gea-chan96 requested some Mads Mikkelsen’s characters as yanderes and, being one of my favourite actors, I couldn’t say no! So…
P.s. I apologise for the delay, but my personal life kept me away from tumblr. For this reason, I will close requests and just write whenever I feel like it.
YANDERE MADS MIKKELSEN CHARACTERS (DARK CONTENT, ENGLISH IS NOT MY FIRST LANGUAGE, MAYBE TYPOS!):
-Would marry you, then show you their yandere side:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I imagine them being very elegant, old-fashioned men. Yes, they are still violent but they would never show that side to their lovely wife. Being rich, and having everything always ready for them, they would probably court you and take you to dates until you naturally fall in love with them. After your marriage, they would start to show how possessive and jealous they can be. They would probably make you move into an isolated house, with all the luxury of course… kept away from the outside world, like a bunny in a cage. They would spoil you like a princess and if you dare to show sadness towards this lifestyle, they would make you feel guilty. The only time they give away their true nature, is in the bedroom.
A little bonus: with Le Chiffre, 007 would notice the toxicity of your marriage… it’s up to you to decide to stay with your husband, or run away with James Bond.
-Would kidnap you:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two are both very carnal and violent man: the only difference is that, while Nigel is completely unhinged, do to being a street mob boss, Hannibal has to keep a certain type of composure. The cannibal who take the whole kidnapping process very slow: making you trust him, becoming your therapist, even. And only then, he would tie you up in his cell… keeping a close to the meat… just to scare you even more.
Nigel doesn’t need all of that: he stalks you, tries to understand your routine for a few weeks and then, when you’re finally walking home alone…it’s over, baby.
-Would use black magic on you to make you fall in love, be completely obsessed with him, adore and serve him:
Tumblr media
I mean… I’m not sure if in the universe of Dr Strange doing this type of magic is possible… let’s just pretend it is. He’s a sorcerer, right? And a villain, so an evil one. He doesn’t need anything but his Book of Shadows and his hands to make you fall in love with him. And that’s exactly what happens: you were supposed to be Dr Strange’s apprentice… but for some reason, you betrayed him and teamed up with Kaecilius. When Stephen understood why, and what had happened… it was too late, you had already made a blood path with your “lover”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So these are the tweets from the post. I had blissfully not come across it before. This is one of the weirdest takes I have ever seen. It's amazing to see these fashion history takes that are so boldly and confidently wrong and inaccurate.
It's honestly hilariously ignorant to think that a massive cultural and societal shift that took couple of centuries, was all because one guy. It's so reductive and even goes to the great man territory to pick one person to blame for something like this that really had much more broad and complex reasons than "a guy did it". It's stressed in this tread that Beau Brummell was not noble or a gentile and "just some guy", so how would he singlehandedly change the fashions and concept of masculinity of the whole western world? He was a London socialite, it's not like most of his contemporaries in continential Europe knew about him. Like maybe the French, but does anyone really believe people in Eastern-Europe or Nordic countries or in the Mediterranean knew about? Not to mention places like US. Yet everyone dressed like that in his lifetime, so how could his influence reach so far so quickly? Not even kings and queens could so directly and massively shift the fashions. So in the face of it the whole claim is ridiculous, but it's also full of inaccuracies.
The shift from Rococo fashion to regency fashion was extremely stark and quick in both men and women's fashion, but it happened during 1780s and 1790s, before Beau Brummell became a well known figure in the London society (he was born in 1778 and became well-known in the society after his military career, during which he befriended the Prince of Wales, around the end of 1790s). Here's first an example from 1780s and then from 1793-94 and 1797.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The one from 1780s still has some rococo elements like the wig, but it's already much more toned down and the coat is already turning from frock coat to a tail coat. It's an example of the more casual men's countryside dress from the period. The court dress was still quite elaborate, though also toned down from the 1770s. But there's a big shift when it comes to the examples from 1790s. They are unmistakably Regency fashion. All of these example are French too. I'm sure these people had no idea and gained no influence from an unknown middle class English officer. So what did actually happen? Well, I'm pretty sure the French Revolution in 1789 had a little bigger impact on the European society and fashion than Beau Brummell.
I'm not going to go too deep into this, since I'm working on an in depth post about the masculinity and fashion in the modern era and I go into detail about how the French Revolution had a massive part in shaping them. But the short version is that the French revolutionaries rejected the elaborate fashions of the Rococo French nobility (in both men and women's fashion) as those over the top fashions stood as symbols of the excess wealth of the nobility and the extreme wealth gap between then and the rest of the people. This is also why the high fashion was getting toned down thorough the 1780s before the Revolution. The anger towards the ruling class was mounting at the time and it encouraged the nobility to down down and try to act a little more palatable in their aesthetics to maybe appease the angry people without doing any actual change to address the wealth gap and the centralized power.
The revolutionaries looked for ideal masculinity and femininity elsewhere then. To contrast themselves against the ruling class, they looked to the antiquity and it's simplicity as well as the peasantry and the country gentleman fashion. Romanticism was the driving force behind the artistic expression of the Revolution. It weaved nationalism to the class struggle that was at the core of the revolutionary movement. So the Revolution was not just the working class and peasantry against the ruling class, but the French People against the nobility. This is when physical labour, militarism, dominance and leadership, really became intrinsically attached to masculinity, as the ideal man of the revolutionaries was a working peasant, who with military power took the the power back to the people from the nobility. The democracy would not last long, but it's not a mistake that only men could vote under the new democracy after the Revolution was won. It's also not a mistake that even when the post-Revolution France eventually abolished slavery (but not without some push-back first and a couple of slave revolts to force their hands) they did not give most people of color rights to vote. Since colonialism whiteness had become intrinsic part of masculinity and femininity, which was part of the dehumanization of everyone else, and the new form of masculinity and femininity born out of the Revolution did not contest that. In fact the Enlightenment philosophy that had laid the ground work for the Revolution and the Romantic movement and it's nationalism that were driving force in it, in no way contested colonialism or it's white supremacy. Which is why the power in the new democracy went to the (mostly) white men.
These elements were in the new men's fashion too. Nationalism, the idealization of militarism and antiquity seen as the origins of democracy made it and especially Antique Rome perfect inspiration for the Revolutionary France. The short hairstyle was inspired from the Roman fashion seen in statues. The fashionable tail coat was influenced by military uniforms and the short jackets of the working class. The long trousers also came from working class dress. Here's examples of the revolutionary fashion from first 1792 and then around 1790.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To be very clear, the revolutionaries were not a single entity with single ideology. They were collection of movements, who were united in their shared desire to overthrow the ruling class and establish some sort of democracy. But inside the movement were much more radical movements than what eventually ended in power after the French nobility. Socialists, abolitionists, feminists, slaves and others also fought for the Revolution and there was a lot of internal struggle too. Romantic movement was also very varied and contained extremely nationalistic elements as well as outright socialist elements.
Beyond the direct and stark effect the French Revolution had in especially France, but everywhere in the western world, the 18th century fashion was never as extreme as in France. If you put the most elaborate French court fashions of mid 1700s and Beau Brummell's style next to each other the difference is certainly massive, but fashion for men as well as women was always much more restrained and somber in England. Here's an English example from 1755-65 and for comparison a French example from 1755.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In fact as the tensions were rising in France the upper class begun to adopt the more toned down English styles. After the Revolution the new Republican styles would spread to Britain too. In Britain though Romanticism had a more pronounced effect as it stayed firmly monarchist. Therefore the English fashion was especially influenced by the styles worn by country side gentlemen.
There's another claim in the thread that fully fails to understand the broad implications of fashion and societal gender and how these things change and evolve. It's the claim that Beau Brummell created the modern men's suit and he's the reason the suit has long trousers. We already went through how long trousers got into men's fashion and it was not him. But the writer is not wrong in saying that Beau Brummell's outfit in this picture is a direct ancestor of modern men's suit. It is.
Tumblr media
But you know what else is a direct ancestor of men's suit? This.
Tumblr media
The modern three piece suit has it roots as far as in late 17th century. Before suit men wore doublets, which style resembled women's fashion much closer than the suits would after it (as seen in these examples from 1630s). However the distinction between men and women's fashion had started to grow much earlier. A big shift that happened during the 16th century was that men stopped wearing skirts. Men and women wore the same garments for centuries before that. The styles and silhouettes for men and women had some differences (the skirts were often shorter for men for example) but they were parallel to each other. I wrote a whole very long post about how skirts stopped being acceptable for men. In it I write about how the shift in men's fashion was part of the large shift from feudalism to colonialism and capitalism, that needed a new hierarchy to justify the new system after the previous divinely justified feudal hierarchy was no longer an option. The new hierarchy was white supremacist patriarchy and therefore needed a clearer distinction between white men and white woman, that would also help distinct white people from the racialised people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But such fundamental changes in the societal structure and culture are long processes. The process was continuing in the latter half of the 17th century, when Orientalism first became very popular. Orientalism is the dehumanization and fetishization of Asia and North-Africa, and it was born as the European colonial project was properly getting going in Asia. Colonialism in Asia and North-Africa took a little different form. I suspect it was because it was not that long ago, when Europeans had felt inferior to many of the peoples and empires in Asia and North-Africa, which they had always had much closer relationships with than the rest of Africa and certainly the Americas. I think that's why Orientalism is such a mix of coveting Asian and North-African cultures and bodies in a very fetishistic ways, while also demeaning and diminishing them. Nevertheless, Orientalism had a huge impact on European fashion in late 17th century. Both the way men and women's clothing was made after that to this day was strongly impacted by Orientalism. The coat and waistcoat combination was an adaptation of Turkish fashion. The three piece suit became popular in 1670s and fully took over men's fashion in 1680s (an example from 1687). The cravat was also adopted around the same time to men's wear from a light cavalry mercenary army in the Habsburgian Empire known as the Croats or Cravats. They were mainly Croatian, which to Western European was almost "Oriental" due to their proximity to Asia and Turkey in particular, and therefore the popularization of cravats as a fashion item was also influenced by Orientalism.
Tumblr media
The Regency three piece suit also has all the same elements as the suit 150 years earlier, the individual pieces had just evolved into different different cuts. The three piece suit in fact still has the same elements to this day, they have just kept evolving.
My point is not to in any way deny Beau Brummell's influence on Regency fashion. He was the most influential fashion icon for men in his era after all. I hope this just made it very clear that these bigger changes are not about individual people but much larger shifts and movements in society and culture. His actual influence was popularizing some of the English countryside styles mentioned before in the fashionable London society, making extremely elaborate cravats into the fashionable items of the day and becoming the image of the English dandy.
The picture of him above shows him the typical English countryside suit with dark blue tail coat, white cravat and light pantaloons with polished hessian boots. He helped to make the outfit and pantaloons in general fashionable. Breeches would stay as the formal leg wear for some a decade still, till young fashionable men would start to use black or gray pantaloons in formal events too. Pantaloons were very fitted, but the trousers, that were fashionably quite narrow at the time, but looser, really came into the casual fashion in 1810s. As seen before their roots come from the working class fashion that was first popularized in the French Revolution, but they had been very informal and while they were still not quite as formal to be able to use in a formal event, they became acceptable in more casual events. Beau Brummell is credited for inventing or at least popularizing pants that have strap to go under the foot in order to keep them straight. Here's first a painting from of a gentleman in a very country style emphasized by the setting. Then a illustration from 1810 of a full formal dress with breeches and a fashion plate from 1817 of day wear with trousers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The thread also misses what dandy really was. Dandy was the embodiment of the middle class social mobility of the modern era. He was the "self-made man", the fashionable middle class and the new celebrity of a post-feudal era. He dressed in refined fashionable countryside middle class clothing and was celebrated for his style and refinement, not for his birth. Ironically though, there was a distinct reactionary quality to the Regency dandy. After all dandy did not embody social equality, but mobility. He was the ideal man of the capitalist hierarchy. A bit of dilemma for the dandy was that being extremely fashionable was central to the dandy, but after the French revolution being too fashionable and too concerned about looks had been associated with the aristocracy and was now therefore unmanly. Which is why dandy quickly came to be seen as effeminate. There is a lot of satiric cartoons from the time period that make fun of dandies and their preoccupation with fashion and looks. Here's couple from around 1810s.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In conclusion it's pretty ridiculous to say modern men's fashion was all created by one guy. The real reason why men's formal suit (and to be clear more colorful and elaborate styles have come and gone from men's informal fashion during that time) has been what it is for more than hundred years is because much bigger changes, like capitalism, colonialism, Orientalism and white supremacist patriarchy.
Ways English borrowed words from Latin
Latin has been influencing English since before English existed!
Tumblr media
Here’s a non-exhaustive list of ways that English got vocabulary from Latin:
early Latin influence on the Germanic tribes: The Germanic tribes borrowed words from the Romans while still in continental Europe, before coming to England.
camp, wall, pit, street, mile, cheap, mint, wine, cheese, pillow, cup, linen, line, pepper, butter, onion, chalk, copper, dragon, peacock, pipe, bishop
Roman occupation of England: The Celts borrowed words from the Romans when the Romans invaded England, and the Anglo-Saxons later borrowed those Latin words from the Celts.
port, tower, -chester / -caster / -cester (place name suffix), mount
Christianization of the Anglo-Saxons: Roman missionaries to England converted the Anglo-Saxons to Christianity and brought Latin with them.
altar, angel, anthem, candle, disciple, litany, martyr, mass, noon, nun, offer, organ, palm, relic, rule, shrine, temple, tunic, cap, sock, purple, chest, mat, sack, school, master, fever, circle, talent
Norman Conquest: The Norman French invaded England in 1066 under William the Conqueror, making Norman French the language of the state. Many words were borrowed from French, which had evolved out of Latin.
noble, servant, messenger, feast, story, government, state, empire, royal, authority, tyrant, court, council, parliament, assembly, record, tax, subject, public, liberty, office, warden, peer, sir, madam, mistress, slave, religion, confession, prayer, lesson, novice, creator, saint, miracle, faith, temptation, charity, pity, obedience, justice, equity, judgment, plea, bill, panel, evidence, proof, sentence, award, fine, prison, punishment, plead, blame, arrest, judge, banish, property, arson, heir, defense, army, navy, peace, enemy, battle, combat, banner, havoc, fashion, robe, button, boots, luxury, blue, brown, jewel, crystal, taste, toast, cream, sugar, salad, lettuce, herb, mustard, cinnamon, nutmeg, roast, boil, stew, fry, curtain, couch, screen, lamp, blanket, dance, music, labor, fool, sculpture, beauty, color, image, tone, poet, romance, title, story, pen, chapter, medicine, pain, stomach, plague, poison
The Renaissance: The intense focus on writings from classical antiquity during the Renaissance led to the borrowing of numerous words directly from Latin.
atmosphere, disability, halo, agile, appropriate, expensive, external, habitual, impersonal, adapt, alienate, benefit, consolidate, disregard, erupt, exist, extinguish, harass, meditate
The Scientific Revolution: The need for new technical and scientific terms led to many neoclassical compounds formed from Classical Greek and Latin elements, or new uses of Latin prefixes.
automobile, transcontinental, transformer, prehistoric, preview, prequel, subtitle, deflate, component, data, experiment, formula, nucleus, ratio, structure
Not to mention most borrowings from other Romance languages, such as Spanish or Italian, which also evolved from Latin.
[“Perhaps it’s because we’ve been trained since the earliest days of capitalism to see the poor as idle and unmotivated. The world’s first capitalists faced a problem that titans of industry still face today: how to get the masses to file into their mills and slaughterhouses to work for as little pay as the law and market allow.
Hunger was the capitalists’ solution to the labor question. “The poor know little of the motives which stimulate the higher ranks to action—pride, honour, and ambition. In general it is only hunger which can spur and goad them on to labour.” So wrote the English doctor and clergyman Joseph Townsend in his 1786 treatise, A Dissertation on the Poor Laws, By a Well-Wisher of Mankind, asserting a position that would become common sense, then common law, throughout the early modern period. The “unremitted pressure” of hunger, Townsend continued, offered “the most natural motive to industry.”
Once you got the poor into factories, you needed laws to protect your property and law men to arrest trespassers and court systems to prosecute them and prisons to hold them. If you were going to fashion an economic system that required the movement of labor, capital, and products around the globe, you needed a system of tariffs and policies to govern the flow of trade, not to mention a standing army to uphold national sovereignty. Big money required big government. But big government could also hand out bread. Realizing this, early capitalists decried the corrosive effects of government aid long before it was extended to the so-called able-bodied poor. In 1704, the English writer Daniel Defoe published a pamphlet arguing that the poor would not work for wages if they were given alms. This argument was repeated over and again by leading thinkers, including Thomas Malthus in his famous 1798 treatise, An Essay on the Principle of Population.
Early converts to capitalism saw poor aid not merely as a burden or as bad policy but as an existential threat, something that could sever the reliance of workers on owners. Fast-forward to the modern era, and you still hear the same neurotic arguments. The idea is to protect one kind of dependency, that of the worker on the company, by debasing another, that of citizens on the state.”]
A Pound of Flesh:
Pairing: Aemond Targaryen x Fem!Targaryen!reader
Word Count: 1000ish
Synopsis: Reader is the first born daughter of Rhaenyra (with Daemon, they had an affair after Jace’s birth but before Luc), she normally was the quiet, reserved one, who adored her books more than life in court, but in order to protect her family there is nothing she wouldnt do, even if it meant great pain, but maybe it will be the start of something so much more
Warnings: threats, targcest, kinda strangers to enemies to lovers?, I don't know if missing anything, Slight UA, at storm’s end Luce doesn't die
A/N english isn’t my first language and its not beta’d
A/N2: MDNI, 18+ only
A/N3: Flashbacks/translations/thoughts in italics
A/N4: I have an idea to continue this but I want to test the waters first so please enjoy and let me know what you think!!!!
Tumblr media
A Pound of Flesh:
“Please Mother, let me go with Lucerys” you pleaded Queen Rhaenyra, folding your hands in front of you. “I have this feeling something bad is going to happen and I want to be there to protect him”
Your mother looked down at you from her position at the head of the stone table “I already said no, Y/N” she said in a demanding tone. “He is being sent as an envoy not a warrior, the Stags will not harm him” she waved her hand at you in a dismissive fashion.
“I will go Mother, with or without your approval” you slipped out uncharacteristically, shocking not only the Queen but yourself as well. “I don’t understand this feeling but I know I need to go but I prefer to have your consent.
Locking eyes with Rhaenyra, she sees the urgency storming in your features. “I allow this if you will finally perform your duty and agree to a marriage match I decide on, my daughter”
You nod in approval and briskly head for the door. Stopping a few steps before it, turning your head to get one last look at your mother saying only slightly louder than a whisper “thank you”
You take off on your dragon following after Luc, flying as fast as your dragon can take you to reach Storm's End. The feeling of dread only grows in your lower stomach as the rain pelts down on you, the dragon dodging the strikes of lightning from the heavens as he flys. Although the journey to Storm’s end is short, it’s dangerous and it feels like forever because of the weather.
Finally reaching your destination and landing in the courtyard, a stroke of lightning illuminates the shadowy figure of Vaghar who lets out a menacing roar behind a stone wall. Meaning her rider must also be here trying to get Borros Baratheon on the side of Aegon in the potential war. The sight causes you to run faster, pushing past the guards and servants in your way to get to your brother.
“I demand payment for my eye” Aemond screams at your little brother in the throne room that you just barged into. Seeing Aemond lunge for the smaller boy, you immediately dash in front of Luc, shielding him from the threat
“You want your pound of flesh Aemond? Fine, I shall pay it, take my eye” you lift your chin giving him better access to your eye. You stare at him in a daring manner. Do it, take it, I must protect Luc and I must put a stop to this madness.
He comes impossibly close to you, his lips mere inches from yours, staring in your eyes. If an outsider was witnessing the both of you, without hearing the moments before, they would have assumed it was two people madly in love, approaching a passion filled kiss.
“Luc, leave us now” without moving or breaking eye contact with Aemond you push your brother towards the door “please”
Aemond raised his dagger, bringing it closer to your face. The action filled with hesitation which surprises you. With the tip of the blade within centimeters of your eye, the world seems frozen in place. Everything and everyone else seems to disappear and nothing heard over the sounds of Aemond’s heavier than normal breathing.
Aemond’s eyes never leaving yours
You whisper in high valyrian “Nyke shijetra ao” (I forgive you)
The first time you saw Aemond, It was before he lost his eye. You were enamoured, his quiet demeanour entranced you. You both became fast friends bonding over books you’ve read.
He loved you. “Let’s marry when we are older” he would often whisper promisingly to you, one he planned to make a reality.
After he lost his eye he drifted away from you. You often felt like you were chasing after him, and yet he would avoid you at all costs, Aemond was just always out of reach. Years went on like this, he became darker, more closed off, bullying those around him to fill the void he didn’t know was left by you.
He wore adulthood like a badge of honour, nose held high but that never stopped you from loving him.
“Clingy whore, leave me alone, I don’t want to be around you. Get that through your thick skull” He yelled at you after a particularly hard battle when you got too close.
That was the last straw, the last thing he said to you and you to him. The look of hurt on your face burned in his memory haunting him every time he tried to sleep. After all he said the most hurtful words purposely so you would finally give up on him and go and find someone truly worthy of you… someone unlike him…someone not mangled. It broke your heart and his.
You you repeated in high valyrian “Nyke shijetra ao” (I forgive you)
And the clanging of the dagger was heard echoing throughout the halls… Aemond dropped it. He spared you.
“I’m so sorry, Y/N” tears welling up, threatening to fall.
You stood there frozen, heart pounding as Aemond fled the throne room heading for Vhagar.
you have a small area on your desk where you keep all the stuff he’s gotten you
“we should definitely name him sam” you said, smiling at the bear jisung had gotten you “what the fuck, no” you shot his a look of disappointment “what’s wrong with sam?” “it’s hyunjin hyung’s english name, there’s no way you’re naming him that” “aww you jealous ji?” you said poking him as his cheeks heated up “whatever, let’s just think of a better name for our child” you giggled at his words “alright you baby”
picnic dates!! or cafe dates
always comes to pick you up with a bouquet of flowers (each time they are different and they always have a meaning to them) and some chocolates
such a sweetheart
constant compliments
“you look so pretty baby” “ooh that necklace is so pretty! isn’t it the one i got you?”
makes sure you’re enjoying the date and always caters to your needs
“oh you’re not feeling well? well let’s just stay inside then, i’m sure we can still find something fun to do”
makes you smile so much that your mouth hurts
“felix how did you find this place??” you said looking at the beautiful flower field around you. “i have my ways” he giggled “i’ll take it as you like it?” felix questioned “like it? i love it! i get to spend the day with my favorite boy and be in such an amazing place place!”
seungmin 승민
night time dates
seungmin really enjoys the atmosphere at night
it’s quiet, you can hear the insects, and the wind blows just enough to keep you from getting hot
he likes taking you on walks, sometimes around the neighborhood, or around the park
he likes the fact that he is able to see your face illuminated by the streetlights
though whenever he finds you to be a bit too cute he moves away so that his blush is hidden
little does he know that you’ve caught on to this and mentally give yourself a pat in the back for getting the kim seungmin embarrassed
you and seungmin walked hand in hand, walking towards the park that you typically went to. it was by the convenience store so the two of you would typically grab some snacks and go sit in the field. “minnie” you spoke, grabbing your boyfriend’s attention. he turned his head towards you in response, “you look so pretty today” you said grabbing his arm, pulling it next to you. seungmin lifted the mask further up his face, “no darkness for you to hide your blush today” you snickered. “you knew?” he questioned, “of course! i always pay attention to you” you said proudly, but before you could speak again you felt yourself falling forward, you held tightly onto seungmin’s arm. he swiftly pulled you up with both arms, now it was his time to laugh. “maybe most more attention to yourself pretty”
jeongin 정인
100% shopping dates
all the time!
tbh you guys actually don’t buy many things
it’s just fun to be around each other and try of different clothes to see what styles look good
you’ve definitely bribed him to buy matching clothes a couple times
but how could you not? they were so perfect for the two of you!
whenever you go to the mall, you’ll both run around different stores until you get tired and end up in the food court
jeongin is so happy to have someone that loves his passion for fashion just as much as he does
he’ll also keep in mind what your eyes are on, so that he is able to buy them as future gifts
“innie you need to try this on!” you said dragging him towards a rack, “ooh i love the color” he said, picking it up by the hanger. you both walked over to the dressing room and tried on your respected clothing. “looks nice…” jeongin said, as you twirled around showing him your outfit, “but i feel like the color clashes with you, it doesn’t fit your personality. the outfit you put on earlier complimented your skin tone perfectly! it really brought out all my favorite features on you” “really??” you asked surprised, “i thought it pointed out some of my flaws…” you mumbled. “baby you’re flawless in my eyes, and trust me with this. this color suits you really well! lets find some more” jeongin smiled. “let me go change back,” you said turning to the dressing room, “wait you haven’t tried on your clothes yet” you frowned. “it’s okay, i can always shop later. i wanna get something special for you first”
haiiii!!
ok so I hope this is not to much but can you mix the two fandoms of pirates of the Caribbean and record of ragnarok but here’s what u want the plot to be like and you can changed it if you like bc this was like the biggest brainstorm I ever had but anyways so the reader is married to William turner but the reader is also fighting for the humans . Most of her/his comrades ( Nikola Tesla, Raiden, Qin, and the other campions on the humans side expect for Adam that knows the reader married but doesn’t know who till the end ) has feelings for them and so does the gods (Poseidon, hades, Thor, hermes, Heracles, and the other campions for the gods side) they have been trying to court the reader cus why not 🤭and the day before the ragnarok officially begins the gods and humans are eating dinner together but sitting in separate tables for obvious reasons, brunhilde surprises the reader by bringing her/his husband (William turner) ( but if you don’t know which movie to follow the plot like this like when William becomes the captain of the Flying Dutchman) you know the reader and William has there reunion like you know them being dramatic the reader runs into Williams arms as he spins her around and kisses her lovingly while tears of joy stream downs there face due to being apart for ten years the gods and humans are shocked and a little heart broken , and like they start asking questions the readers answers and you can do the rest on your own if you like cus that’s all I thought about for the past 15 mins but anyways sorry if this is to much :3
A/N: I decided to write for three humans, if you want any Gods, you can send in a request when my inbox re-opens. Enjoy!
🦅 Lü Bu had admired your strength for quite a while now
🦅 You were once known as a fearsome pirate that traveled with the once prideful Captain Jack Sparrow, but nobody knew how much your life changed after meeting William Turner
🦅 Lü Bu loved to challenge anybody he deemed worthy to fight, and you were one of the rare few that could give him a bite back
🦅 You could say his admiration evolved into slight, slight, feelings for you, as he never really allowed himself to think of anything outside of battle or friendship
🦅 He was sitting beside his fellow human fighters when he heard Goll shriek in happiness, to which everyone in the area reacted
🦅 A young male stood beside you as he laughed at Goll's antics, that was when he discovered what happened to you after your journey aboard the seas
" Everyone, this is my husband, Captain of the Flying Dutchman, William Turner! Will, these are my fellow fighters. "
🦅 Lü Bu felt his heart tug at the sides, he had no idea you were married, and thankfully, he didn't act on his feelings, as that would make him feel like the biggest piece of crap in Valhalla
🦅 Unlike others, Lü Bu could push his feelings aside like nothing, so when you introduced your husband to your friend, it wasn't hard for him to get along with Will
🩸 Jack admired you not just for your strength, but for your personality
🩸 You shined a color he had never seen before, at least one he hadn't seen so strongly and so openly
🩸 As a true English gentleman, Jack did not wish to court you without your permission, and he planned after dinner that night, he would ask for your permission
🩸 Jack watched as Brunhilde brought in a young man wearing an old-fashioned pirate outfit, and his eyes widened slightly as you ran up and let him twirl you around before dipping you in for a kiss
🩸 And that kiss hurt his heart so much
🩸 William flushed when he noticed how many people were in the room, to which you laughed and introduced him to everyone there
🩸 Jack knew he wasn't the only admirer of you, but others took the news far better than him
🩸 He's good at masking his feelings, so watching as you happily sit by your husband while speaking to Jack and the others was a time that nobody could tell he was feeling quite down
🩸 William did though. And when he confronted him about it, Jack just answered him honestly, and William accepted it
🩸 Will knew you had these admirers, and he understood why, and since Jack had treated you and him so respectively, despite the hard hit, William just gave him the best advice he could
🩸 Jack watched as he walked away with you, and he couldn't lie
🩸 You and William deserved each other, and while Jack knew you wouldn't feel the same about him, being your friend and ally was a place he could stay and be happy
🥊 Not gonna lie, Raiden reminded you of Jack Sparrow, a lot
🥊 From the way his determination and arrogance clouded his judgement and led to quite a few people knocking him down a few pegs, it just reminded you of the man you considered to be a brother so much
🥊 Raiden had romantic feelings for you ever since he had first seen you fight against Sasaki Kojiro during a practice session
🥊 The way you held yourself was something he admired and because of that, it evolved into something far more serious
🥊 He leaned back in his chair, and when he saw the kiss you and William shared that night, it made him sit up and ask who he was, along with others, but he was a main person to get a hint angry
🥊 Why did he not realize you were married?
🥊 William was very respectful towards you, and Raiden couldn't help but compare himself to the young captain
🥊 You loved the way he talked to gently and with so much passion for his crew and job, despite the long time he was forced to stay away from you
🥊 After dinner, Raiden sat awake and pondered why he felt this way. And when he realized why, it broke his heart, but, unlike certain people, he pushed his feelings to the front lines and he hid himself away for hours on end
🥊 Once he finally processed everything, he got along with Will surprisingly well, and while his feelings for you may never truly fade away, if this guy makes you happy, it's worth every minute
