i'm surprised critical role didn't update their content policy after they released beacon
#text#ig they still allow us to make yt highlight videos and whatnot??#i mean their content policy has always been pretty lax when it comes to videos#but with the shortened versions of the eps they have now on beacon i did wonder if they were gonna be more strict#i mean surely beacon exclusive stuff would get hit with the copyright hammer#but ig just regular cr eps are still fine?

Random Romulan Commander in 'Face of the Enemy' I Love You
#let's get together and talk shit about the tal shiar#tng#I've been listening to it while I draw yet again. Let me just say - these people have the most uncomplicatedly straightforward coworker#dynamics I've ever seen. I have encountered no drama no tension no intricate rituals they are just here for a paycheck or the vibe.#It really highlights how batshit Voyager's crew is - seeing what a regular crew should be doing#Everyone in tng (so far and from the ep's I've seen) is fairly bland to me except Worf#My impressions are that I like everyone fine except Riker#and I looove worf <3 he's cute#Riker just seems like an ass

todays episode.
holy FUCK !!!!!!!
spoilers below /
right away i literally realized why this ep took so long LOL . like the PERSPECTIVE ?? the shots ?? real players ?? holy fucking Shit dude
pulling off the whole real player thing is a challenge in on itself but animating alongside it ?? putting said players on backgrounds and syncing their movements so the story matches ???? Insane. im still unsure how exactly they pulled that and i hope thats gonna be explored in the newsletter

and the way thwt they still stick to the simplicities and how the their looks are the same in the 3d plane even with their models — to a point you sometimes cant guess whether theyre using a model or are actually drawing

alright . now to details !!!
it seems like alans passion project ghiblicraft made an appearance :D

red. Please. i love you. please watch your step
now. this character has been expected for a While. and of course its no other than

alexcrafter .
seriously what did they think of seeing the same sticks (or, stick, considering they know red specifically) invade a public server now XD

its worthy to note that they utilized smear frames a lot as well !!!
the choice with their problem being the mc universe rules with regular players was such a cool choice . of course sticks hitbox would be different
ALSO . someone recognized green in chat

and now to the highlight (or, reward, as charlie mentioned) in the end of the vid
Oh my fucking god

GOD. HOLY SHIT ...............
accurate hollowhead & king heights ??? king having a gold block in his staff instead of a mc icon??? (honestly, i felt like the issue of copyright might make them take some more radical steps away from his design, but im very pleasantly surprised). Victim ... ohhh victim. victi
AND ???? AND ?? NODE AND?? THE PINK CONDUCTOR ???? holy fucking Shit dude
i was genuinely thinking that the conductor stick mightve been purple who's hue got picked incorrectly — but Holy fuck
AND !!!

with the clearer look at the background, we can fully say that it Is a train in final art as well !!!!! and God. GOD. it raises SO MANY QUESTIONS (for which i fear i will rant later. im falling asleep while typing this XD)
you dont even know how excited i am and delighted over todays episode. holy FUCKKK !!!!!!!!

Lin ling the people's hero
⚠️TBHX ep4 spoilers⚠️
The progression of Lin Ling's character arc is one that intrigues me because it first opens up to him disliking the idea of being a regular person to him actively embracing that role and that being his most defining feature as the hero Lin Ling the commoner!

From what we know of Lin Ling's life, he seems to have this belief that he is a nobody, and nobodies are useless hammered to his head since the 1st episode. Due to this, he finds an escape in being the perfect hero : Nice because he believes that by becoming Nice lin ling can finally become someone who has the power to protect the people he deems worth protecting. The idea of nobodies being worthless and the disposability of Lin Ling as a person is something constantly repeated to him by Ms J and his former boss, and he also internalised this belief to a concerning degree.
However, when it truly comes to what matters, most lin ling chooses to be himself and be a normal person in the end. His desire to be a hero truly solidified because he wants to protect the people he cares for, such as moon and those that he believes are worth protecting. I enjoy the destruction of Lin Lings negative views when it comes to being a regular person and how he finally reclaims his agency and autonomy in this episode by choosing something for himself for once instead of following the cooperate flow that wanted him to be nice and wanted him to aim for the top 10 as nice while complete stripping him of his Lin Ling identity.
The introduction of Lin Ling, the commoner hero, also hints to the fact that this might be the first hero that people view as just a normal man that they trust. This belief might actually help lin ling as he probably won't receive a harsh effect to his power such as firm man and Nice but maybe that would mean he might receive a concequence as people seeing him as average or something along those lines.

Although, this will be the last Nice/lin Ling focused episode throughout the 4 episodes we got a clear direction of Lin Ling going from enjoying and believing that he can do anything when he is Nice because he is Nice and the people trust him to him actively choosing to renounce that title and regain his autonomy to become a hero that can save the person he loves. Throughout episodes 1 and 2, the joy of being useful and being a hero hit Nice pretty hard, and we can even see this translated in animation as most of his fights are in a bright cartoon 2d lens where he can always win without any harsh concequences. However, through the span of the first two eps moon and wreck are the ones to remind him that he isn't Nice, should never be nice and will never be nice no matter how hard he tries. Moon thinks that Lin Ling is a better person than nice and believes that Lin Ling should choose his own path, what his heart truly desires whereas Wreck highlights how messed up it is for Lin Ling to become Nice and how he can never fully be Nice as long as Wreck is around.
Episodes 3 and 4 make a dramatic switch to Lin Ling actively trying to reclaim his identity as a regular person while his fans and boss push him further and further into being nice and losing himself. This time, lin Ling doesn't have to be confronted directly to admit that he isn't nice, but he admits it to those who would listen to him such as firm man and the rest of society. His debute as a hero is through the fact that he is Lin Ling and nothing else. He is a man with powers that has no title and no special ability except for the desire to save the person he cares for.

In the end, Lin Ling, as a hero, embodies an average person's hopes, dreams, and desires. The hope to achieve the impossible, the dream to achieve something great, and the desire to protect those that you love. The ordinary hero manages to be exceptional and the odd one out in more ways than one, whether that be through his debut, his current position sky rocketing to number 10 so fast or through his lifes journey.

Quick personal observation/interpretation of each BOYFRIEND in ep 5 because I’m absolutely floored by how well the actors managed to emphasize their differences.
Jojo the talented man that you are… it takes so much skill to highlight different dynamics while the couples are still stuck in that gray zone full of secrets, trauma and lies.
- Kant vs. Style: Style in this episode was everything I wished to see. I was a little skeptical about how he was going to act around Fadel after learning the truth. Is he going to be scared? Is he going to act like Kant and be all lovey dovey while avoiding any dangerous topic that might make him look suspicious? Is he going to put a mask on too and come across as oblivious and innocent? NOOOOO. He was a stark opposite of Kant and that’s exact what I wanted. Not because I don’t like Kant or anything but I just wanted that refreshing contrast between them.
Kant has opted for the lover boy disguise since ep 1. Charming, down to earth, normal, unproblematic, gentlemanly, pliant. He wanted to appear innocent too but when Bison learned about his criminal past he couldn’t keep up that lie for too long. So he turned that innocence into redemption. A thief became a hero, an avoidant guy with commitment issues became devoted and loyal. A man seeking redemption and a regular relationship with a cute, pretty and ordinary waiter. That’s how he wanted to get close to Bison as a way to avoid raising suspicion, to steer clear of any danger that comes with this hitman. SAFETY came first In his book and he was smart enough to figure out that Bison needed exactly that: a new standard life and to forget who he is.
Style on the hand… many of us had suspected that his curiosity and growing feelings would overrun his fear of Fadel. Style is smart but he’s also bold, confident, extremely curious, spontaneous and likes risks. But what’s interesting here is that, contrary to Kant, Style is at peace with himself and his emotions. He always allow himself to feel and express those feelings. This, in addition to his curiosity, could explain why he flirted with danger in ep 5. He needed to figure out what he was feeling, he wanted to unravel the mystery around Fadel. While Kant keeps fighting himself and his love for Bison because he’s convinced there’s no other way, Style can’t help himself. While Kant constantly tries to remind himself that Bison is a hitman, Style in ep 5 is digging for Fadel’s humanity, anything that could legitimize his feelings for him or explain why Fadel is the way he is. We see this so clearly with Style’s confessions, raw feelings that caught Kant by surprise and even pushed him, FOR THE FIRST TIME, to admit that he, too, likes Bison. Style’s open attitude and straightforwardness exposed not only Fadel in ep 5 but also Kant (fucking finally).

- Bison vs. Fadel: these two are so different, we knew that since ep 1 and it’s reflected in how they act in a relationship too. It may or may not be because Fadel had experienced betrayal or/and loss in his past relationship.
Bison has a childlike rawness to him that fuels his hope. Sometimes it comes across as naivety, especially during his exchanges with Fadel as the contrast in their personalities brings that out. Bison not only wants a normal and carefree life but he’s high key convinced that it’s achievable for him, despite being an assassin. He’s a little whimsical and likes to forget who he is by putting himself in the shoes of someone ordinary. I think that’s why he’s so drawn to Kant and that’s why Kant acts like a “honorable citizen” (lol James) around him.
You just have to see how their relationship developed compared to Fadel and Style’s. It had a traditional flair to it: the courting, the dates, the handholding and sweet words, the soft tone with which they talk, THE BED (that one took a while for the other two lol). It appealed to Bison because it gave him a sense of fun, safety and normalcy. Unlike Fadel, Bison acts sweet and avoids scaring off Kant, unless his emotions get the better of him. He prefers not carrying that sense of danger and warning sign around him, which would’ve worked if he wasn’t so temperamental.
Fadel on the other hand doesn’t want to forget who he is and is convinced he would never be able to turn over a new leaf. Call me sadistic but I really, really liked how he’s still pushing Style away, even after he agreed to be his boyfriend. The way he’s doing it rn is so sad and beautiful because it’s doubled with this new vulnerability that just… ugh left me feeling all sort of things. I just love how honest he is with Style (minus that ex lover thingy he denied or idk). He doesn’t pretend to be someone he’s not, he doesn’t ignore his reality. I even think he’s loosened his hold on the dangerous aura he carries because in ep 5, he’s very straightforward with Style. Before, he would just act annoyed like a hardass who can handle himself but still avoided raising suspicion. The shift in ep 5 is CRAZY. He told Style on numerous occasions: “look I’m dangerous, you need to leave. I won’t trust you and I can’t give you what you want because I don’t think anyone can love me enough to stay by my side through this.”

WARNING ! SPOILERS for TLOVM season 3 and Campaign 1
I'm a bit sad with all the negativity in the tlovm tags following this new batch of episodes. Because all the usual appreciation and fun details pointing is drown in it. So I'll do my part and draw some light and appreciation for the following things:
"Allura can't teleport us 'cause we mind wind up in the ocean" Nice nod
The beauty of Glintshore sand? crystals ? I mean, I know the entire island isn't covered in it, but it's there and it's gorgeous
Vax and Grog banter, Pike and Vax friendship when she stole his badass line. Who says that the friendships in tlovm are not showed ? It's smaller because they're running out of time but if you keep both eyes open, you can catch the small moments.
How good was the delirium gas ?
Percy having bad Ripley PTSD ?Check.
Orthax forcing the (gas) mask on Percy's face ? Oh f*ck me that was so good.
Elaina's first appearence and Vex's heart torment ? Check
Vex fighting the gas messing with her mind and seeing Percy getting kidnapped ? Great
Her seeing Percy devoured by some hellish pain ? Awesome foreshadowing for Orthax feeding on Percy's soul
I won't dwell too much on ep 7 because I'm Perc'ahlia trash and this was pure gold but ALL their scenes.
And these two shots:
They're the last thing they think about before passing out. And look at them, they're looking at each other. Great parallels, great cinematography
You want more parallels ? You're not in enough pain ? I've got more ! How about this ?:
Percy cradling Vex because he doesn't want to lose her.
Vex cradling Percy because she lost him
MY HEART !!!!!!
Anyways back to our regular program: The color scheme in the factory is on point. Predominance of green during all Ripley's discussion with percy, some blasts of orange for Orthax.
This shot when they want to make us think Percy will go dark but also because he sincerly understand. He sees with her (green) eyes
Culminating in theses shots:
In the end, the true Percy is good (he's blue which is both his color and Vex's)
Then we got some nice Pike and Kiki character development with the delirium gas
Percy's fight with Ripley is pure display of his capacities and wits, not unlike Vex's fight against Saundor or Grog's fight against Kevdak. The fights with nemesis are always awesome, well choreographed and both characters and animators flexing.
And I like Grog's delirium both beacause it brings a bit of comic relief in this big painful episode but that's not all there is. Because when he gets out of it, he asks Pike if he hurt her again and you can't convince me that he didn't saw Craven Edge and the pain he inflicted Pike in his PTSD (not showed but we know)
Onto episode 8, love the Stilben flashback and the dead mystic cult leader being Taliesin.
The funeral was powerful and beautiful. The highlights being Cassandra crying her last family member and Vex'ahlia not saying the prayer despite being one of the Dawnfather.
Scanlan putting Kaylie's song music sheet on the altar for Percy breaks my heart. For him, he lost both of them and also he traded the life of his friend for moments with Kaylie (which he didn't even had, that's so sad)
Vox Machina assembling all of their allies with the beautiful OST was awesome while conserving this... heaviness. We're still grieving (at least I'm still am)
Vex and Syldor whole convesrsation. Laura Bailey, the talented woman you are and Troy Baker did a great job at humanizing him. though he's still a prick.
Vaxleth and Pikelan scenes were cute
We've got LARKIN mentioned and by Vax nonetheless !
Earthbreaker Groon and Grog doing the slapping hands/muscles flexing meme !
How brutal Thordak's attacks are in ep 8 and 9, all the people dying to rise up the stakes worked really well in my opinion.
Travis smarts piercing through Grog's 6 INT just like in the campaign
Earthbreaker Groon being a BAMF with that suplex
The teamwork going strong during all the fight
Zahra and Kash coming in to save the day. I love them your honor
My jaw dropped at Kashaw's badass magical attack. THAT WAS AWESOME and dropped further at his death. I couldn't believe it at first and as bold as a choice it was, I really liked it. Because it's a thing to kill NPC nameless army guys but killing a beloved character: that take some balls . And because of the unpredictability, the shock hit. I'm always here for the drama and it was beautifully done (the visuals for the Raven Queen and her powers are always as gorgeous as ominous).
Mary Elizabeth McGlynn also showing off her VA talent
In the end, every VM members getting his moment of glory :
Vex with getting the Syngorn army while being at her lowest/rock bottom ("The truth is the only bargaining chip at rock bottom", really nice parallels with the Stillben flashback + her using Percy's philosophy)
Grog destroying the lair
Scanlan getting them out of there at the peril at his life and ending up in a coma (nice subversion so there are not two dead party members followed up by two ressurections)
Keyleth being her badass elemental self (with her two gorgeous muscial leitmotives "blinded by the light" + "passing through the fire")
Pike being able to absorb Thordak -not red but- blue fire/laser which we saw went through Emon like butter. That's one MONSTAH move with beautiful beautiful colors (red yellow and blue mixing) look at this shot:
And Vax having the last kill, thinking of his mother doing this for Emon sure but most important for his mom, Vex and himself and what a beautiful shot and power move with the twisting golden and black torpedo that he is.
A great powerful death for a great powerful foe
And then some sorrow and sweetness. The Vaxleth back hug was adorable.
And that last shot of Keyleth after the confrontation with Raishan makes me long for more and to already be next week.
And that's some positivity and appreciation of CR work because they pour their heart and soul into these series and these characters and it's beautiful and I see it. I hope I could put some light on it at my small scale.
Have a great day and let's wait impatiently for next week and end of season 3

30/06/2024 - The Colorado Avalanche draft Tory Pitner 185th overall.
I think that I can use my brain and really bait other players into plays that they don't want to make and then close out. Really take away time and space, and ultimately just be a prick to play against - I don't know if I can say that on this - but I think that I can defend really well.
[full draft day interview transcript + an introduction by me under the cut]
Foreword: This transcript was done by hand to the best of my ability and edited for clarity. In bold text are my highlights, parts I thought were noteworthy and interesting. I removed filler words (um's and uh's). In square brackets are where I've added words or adjusted words for clarity. In the regular parentheses are small notes for added context. Tory Pitner is a fascinating player. He does not have the high-end skill you saw go in the first round. He is foremost a shutdown d-man. But he is smart, driven, methodical in his preparation and training, and most of all a true scholar and lover of the game. If anyone has an EP Rinkside subscription, I would encourage you to read the article written about him. The bulk of it is an interview, in which he goes into vivid detail about several top draft picks from this year whom he has played against, and how he goes about shutting them down. He has their on-ice habits broken down and analysed; from their handedness to the types of shots they like to make and the dekes they like to use. He watches NHL defensemen, describing his study with the fervour of an academic, a mad scientist, and a fan all at once. He has charmed me utterly, and I think it's because we love hockey in such similar ways. I love the details of the game, I love watching good and interesting hockey above all else, and I absolutely love studying it (albeit on an amateur level). And, okay, I don't like to make bold predictions, so I won't. All I have is hope. I hope he grows and thrives, I hope everyone one day recognises how special he is, and most of all I hope he makes it. Tory Pitner, no matter who you play for and where you're playing, I will always be rooting for you!!
Q: How would you describe [your] feelings right now?
TP: It's pretty unbelievable. I mean, it's a great feeling. Colorado is a great organisation, and especially down the road from Denver [University] it's going to be really, really fun to go to a lot of games and just see the progression in the team - in my game - to hopefully one day be there.
Q: So, knowing that you were going to D.U., were you maybe kind of hopeful that it'd be the Avs?
TP: Yeah. I talked to the Avs a little bit during the year and stayed in contact with some of their scouts, so every time they picked I was kind of on the edge of my seat - but I'm happy to be here and really excited.
Q: What are the strengths in your game?
TP: I'd say that my defending is probably my biggest strength. I think that I can use my brain and really bait other players into plays that they don't want to make and then close out. Really take away time and space, and ultimately just be a prick to play against - I don't know if I can say that on this - but I think that I can defend really well.
I'd say my player comparable is John Marino; his ability to play against those top line guys and shut them down every night. I mean, you just saw him get traded so [he's] obviously a very valuable piece in the NHL, and he was a sixth round draft pick too. I'm really excited to hopefully continue that development path over at D.U. to round out all the other areas of my game to play in the NHL.
Q: So you'd say Denver is a good choice for you, for college?
TP: Yeah. I'd say, obviously, the coaching staff first of all, [David Carle] is an unbelievable coach; and then just the proven track record they have at developing NHL defensemen. Being there every day, you see all the guys that come back, and they want to be at D.U. All the guys that they've sent to the NHL, they still come back to train there - train with Matt Shaw, the strength coach, and skate on the ice. Everyone there; it's kind of a brotherhood. It's a great system for [anyone] to go through if they want to get to the NHL.
Q: Did you get a chance to speak to Jake Fisher? (Colorado draft pick #121 overall)
TP: I'm actually roommates with Fish at D.U. We moved in on Sunday and so it's kind of cool that we both got picked here.
Q: So have you talked to him since?
TP: I haven't. I gotta be honest, I put my phone down after round three and kind of tried not to go on it. But yeah, no, we'll definitely talk. I'll see Fish [on] Sunday when I land. We probably have some studying to do for our Geography class. No, it'll be good. I know he was really excited, I'm really excited, too.
Q: Have you ever been to an Avs game?
TP: I have not, no. But I heard that the D.U. guys go all the time, especially with it being right downtown, so [I'm] really looking forward to getting out there and seeing Ball Arena live. I've driven past it a few times, just heading back to campus and whatnot, but I'll be really excited to get inside and see what it's like.
Q: How did [the Youngstown Phantoms] help you develop, to get to this point? (inaudible)
TP: For sure. I mean, obviously it was great my first year, getting to experience winning the Clark Cup Championship there was super cool for me, and it was a great learning experience being able to be around great leaders like Shane Lachance and Chase Pietila - who got picked earlier today. Being able to be around those kind of guys was awesome for me. And then my second year, taking a step into a bigger role with the team, talking with [coach] Andy Contois a lot about my game, working on different areas that I need to improve, and improving on my strengths, too, [like] being hard to play against. So I think overall they helped me round out my game, and I'm looking forward to keep rounding out that game at D.U.
Q: What has your Draft Day experience been like here at the Sphere? (inaudible)
TP: Yeah, no, it was long. Woke up early, couldn't really sleep too much. Woke up, just kind of got a workout in to get moving, you know, have something to do. Then walked over here - I'm staying at a hotel that's not too far - so, walked over. Sat down after having some breakfast and then kind of just watched the draft. It's been pretty cool, though. I have my family here, my agent as well, [and] one of my coaches. It's been really nice to have everyone here supporting me.
Q: What about the way that Colorado plays defence excites you?
TP: I'd say that I love how they're pretty freeing with all their defensemen. Even down the lineup, you look at Josh Manson still getting up in the play joining as a fourth man. Sam Girard obviously loves to do that. They obviously have great defensemen like Cale Makar running their power play. [They] love being really active. I think that's something that I'm looking to add more to my game, too, and so the freedom to do that in Colorado is something I'm really looking forward to - especially at D.U. as well, having that freedom. Finding the middle in a lot of their breakouts, not a lot of off-the-glass plays or up the wall; they like to really possess the puck. I'm really looking forward to being able to hold on to the puck a little bit longer and find some middle support, which I think will ultimately help my game break down the opponent and just add another element - which will be really fun.
Q: What players did you idolise as you came up?
TP: It's kind of been a lot of different ones, but I really wanted to play defence because of Nick Lidstrom. When I was younger, one of my coaches - actually, Anže Kopitar's brother - Gašper Kopitar; he was my defense coach in LA when I played for the junior Kings when I was younger, and he told me 'If you want to be a defenseman, [go] watch Nick Lidstrom.' So I found some YouTube video - and I think I've watched it like 400 times or something like that. I've watched his NHL 36 multiple times, just to get me going or just to learn his routines. So idolising him growing up and then seeing the great person and defenseman he was; it really made me want to be [one], and I wanted to play hockey even more.

EP-001: The Infinite Earthlike
A6-392: Curious scavengers [PART 1]
(Content key🤖✨️🐭🐭✨️)
Hello! Infinity Earthers! It’s Yu!🤖 If you’ve come across this travel log then welcome! I leave a written copy on every Earthlike I visit. It will probably come off as fucking lunacy to most of you. To that I say, just go with it.🤣 We’re here in A6-392 and we may stay a while! It’s beautiful here, and I’ve yet to encounter any agent activity which is also a plus! Our search for the Infinity Earth continues, and I sometimes wonder if we’ll ever find it. Something, something, finding friends or something…🤪
Today I’m in a bustling seaport town on the west side. We’ve come to get supplies for our next journey into deep space. The people here are the rough around the edges type, and everyone expects you to haggle. I’m total shit at haggling. Nysa thinks I overpay for everything. Nysa is right, she always is... This post is not about haggling though. I want to highlight a curious little rodent-like creature that has captured my imagination for the past 10 days.
The locals just call em rats, but I’ve never seen rats like these before.🤔 Some find them to be a nuisance. Others seem to live alongside them in fairly harmonious ways. I fucking love them 😭😭😭! Nyssa finds them to be cute in the traditional sense, but she’s hard to impress. I’ve been completely sidetracked by the adventures of these little creatures which I’ll try to describe entertainingly.
The mouse-bear rodents stand at roughly 20 cm and come in various colors. The first pack that I’ve been observing is a blue-ish-grey variety, sometimes with white spots. The main trait that I want to discuss however is their need to accessorize with rubbish and other items they find around town. There is a whole class system based on how ornate each one can adorn themselves over time.✨✨✨
They don’t seem to have a vocal language, but they do communicate through a series of taps and grunts. The drama is so real!🤣🤣🤣 First I’ll introduce you to this one majestic fellow I’m calling King Michael.👑 He’s the top dog here right now. The pack lives in an alleyway under a pub. This dive serves a mead-like beverage which gave me diarrhea for three days. A story for a different never… 😑😑😑
King Michael👑 wears a cloth that looks like a part of a blouse. It’s a dirty lace kind of thing with a hole chewed through the center. The king has poked his head through the tight opening and his fur spills out over the top of it. On his head, he wears a crown of 6 layers! It’s made of various items such as an old board game token, a silver coin, the wrapper box to some kind of candy, etc.
Across the ally under the bookshop lives the second pack. These rats are of a light red and black variety with similar fashion sense. Queen Madonna 👑Is an elegant sight draped in some kind of battery-powered string of LEDs. Her crown consists of a children’s fidget toy and some tattered cloth she wears like a veil.
The two factions had co-existed peacefully for the most part, until one fateful evening! While on their regular patrols for food and bits of flair. Queen Madonna👑 had slipped on a wet rock and fallen onto King Michael himself! This perceived act of aggression had knocked off three layers of the King’s crown causing quite a controversy. Was the queen attempting a power play to become the new top rat of the alley?
The two groups now spend the majority of their days knocking accessories off of each other in passive-aggressive ways, and it’s hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣So far the packs have not become violent, but I’ll be watching carefully over the next few days. Nyssa thinks it’s only a matter of time before they start killing each other. I’d like to think they could still work out their differences…
I guess I won’t hold my breath.
That’s all for today! Hope you don’t kill anyone today you fucking superstars!

I loved the finale, 10/10, but seeing people say it felt more like a regular ep than a season end. It worked for me. Alicent & Rhaenyra meeting and Daemon finally accepting Rhaenyra as queen were my highlights. Definitely aimed at setting up s3. I can’t wait 😭 idk if I’ll be able to go that long without reading

I'm sad because it seems like everyone hates Aegon and I don't think Tom will be nominated for an Emmy or win. It seems that everyone has watched the series in such a superficial way, it's all about blood and action and who will win in the end. Please, where is the appreciation for tragedy, for complex characters who aren't just good or evil? It seems that people just want to be right and don't watch the show with a closer eye. Tom seems to be so passionate about the craft and tries so hard to play Aegon, I hope he's not sad to see that people aren't understanding the character as they should or aren't as excited as he is. Every time someone says that he deserves the Emmy, other people comment: but actor x also, actor y deserves more and honestly, in my opinion it's clear that he was the biggest highlight (this is regardless of whether I like the actor or not).I hope that the influence of George r.r martin (who praised his performance) will help Tom to have more chances, because I feel that we are alone.
If not nominated for an Emmy now, he will be getting his awards soon enough. Tom is an incredible actor, I watched some of his projects (you can find many of his short films on Vimeo) and especially in Regulars, where he plays a psychopath, you can see he really is an impressive actor (if you even have any doubts after watching him as Aegon, that is). I think his career might now hopefully take off in a similar manner as Barry Koeghan's did (who he already has one movie with coincidentally, haha).
About Aegon.. I sadly have to understand all these people who don't like him. It is really really hard to like a rapist. They should have never made Aegon one, if they wanted people to sympathise with him (maybe they didn't want that and Tom just made him cool like that on his own, I have not decided on that one). Regardless, there is a big difference between murder and rape (there just is, idk how to explain), you can root for a murderer, there are plenty examples of likeable villains after all, but rapist? That's just icky. I had a major crisis over my liking for Aegon in the beginning of the second season, before I decided to just retcon it in my mind. But I still understand people, who just won't cross that line, no matter all his other qualities, even though it is such a shame.
But if it is any consolation, there was a poll on redit about "best written main character of season 2 so far" (after ep 5) and the result was rather satisfying (and not at all unexpectedle). Sometimes you read one or two opinions and feel like everyone thinks like that, but it is not always the truth. I think Aegon was well liked even by general audience and the lightness he brought to the show was well missed after Rook's Rest.
Now I just hope well get some scenes of him with oranges and cinnamon in season 3, hehe (and maybe Haymitch Abernathy👀? I am sure Harry would appreciate that, too lmao)

New Marshall Pics! (Season 11, Ep.02)
Again, these episodes appeared early about a month ago over in the UK, so some of you might have already seen these. I decided to hold off until it popped up on TV, and my wait finally ended today!

The first segment - "Rescue Wheels: Pups Save the Risky Race"
I'm not going to lie - I did not like the last episode, whatsoever. Today, however... I thought both segments were pretty fun! This one involved Boomer and Roxi racing to the top of a snowy mountain, although one was racing more than the other, of course. There was some cute moments at the start, particularly a belly-sliding Marshall, and the mission gave everyone something to do, which was nice to see (even if what some of them did felt a bit forced). Boomer was rather entertaining, as always, so there's that, too. Overall, I enjoyed it!

And the second segment: "Rescue Wheels - Pups Save the Runaway Truck"
Easily the best of the two segments, and arguably one of the best episodes to come out of PAW Patrol in a long time. Seriously, I actually found myself chuckling a few times in this one! Boomer really stole the show and was easily the biggest highlight here, which once again makes it such a shame that this might be the last time we see him. The mission itself was fun, and it even gave me my dream team again (Chase and Marshall), even if it was brief. Overall, the whole thing was a lot of fun! I heard a comedian wrote this episode, and goodness me, I hope he writes for the show again!
That's all for now! We've got another new episode coming next week, although it's a regular episode this time. Some fans believe this is when the cartoon will switch over to the new animation style. There's no confirmation on this yet, but... who knows, maybe my next batch of pics will be Marshall with his new look! I certainly hope so! Guess we'll find out soon!

drama name : Beyond Evil (2021)
season : 1
my rating : 8.5/10
---------------------
This kdrama is about two policemen Lee Dong Sik and Han Ju Won, who deal with solving a 20 year old murder mystery in a small town and come across more secrets than they were anticipating in the run. You'd think it'd be your typical murder mystery show but it mostly highlights the grief and loss that rots people from inside out and how the innocent suffer in the wake of a person's undeserving death and that was the thing that made me like this show a lot, just the way it humanizes a crime drama and the victims not being reduced to mere numbers. Maybe I consume too many murder mystery media but I kinda predicted who the culprits are gonna be but eh I still had a lot of fun watching this, just the found family feels from the friend circle and their regular dinner get together to the homoerotic tension between the two leads (lmao). They dragged it out a bit in the last few episodes but it wasn't bad enough to make me quit and everything and the acting is so good ?? the way they make you think that they might be the culprit and make you suspicious of everyone to slowly falling in love (with the leads) with how human they are (i love their chemistry). The plot twists at the end of every ep was a nice way to make me continue watching it pfft and I really hope I get another mini episode of just the leads getting together to solve another case mhmm.

Media Analysis: Shin Sekai Yori (Eps. 1, 2, 4, 12)
Coupled with this week's reading, Wild Child by Andrea Arai, the anime Shin Sekai Yori can be seen as a story that presents similar themes of children in a dystopian reality. The reading highlights how a spike of social anxiety in Japan during the 1990s had childhood being the root source. Many feared for the future of their children: both crisis and potential.
Episode 1 follows the main character, Saki, undergoing a ritual in which awakens her psychokinetic powers. Later in the episode, it is discovered how those children who struggle with these powers are mysteriously missing, disappearing from any training. This mirrors the pressures of the Japanese youth to conform to societal norms, and, if not, they are quietly swept under the rug. Not saying actual children go missing if they underperform, but many are barred from regular classrooms, and placed in special educational programs.
Later on in the anime, Saki and her friends discover a hidden dark secret about the early psychokinetic humans, for which caused devastating violence around the world, most being children. Arai describes how the media in Japan, and many places around the world, handle juvenile crime by scrubbing it out of the public eye, reflecting how secretive this information was in the anime. Society seeks to hide these uncomfortable truths of misbehaving kids to maintain order.
A specific example in Arai's work was Shōnen A. Shōnen A was a 14-year-old who committed brutal murders in Kobe, which led to widespread hysteria in Japan about how the youth is increasingly becoming uncontrollable and violent. Episode 12 reveals the real reason as to why there is extreme control over the children: to prevent the rise of fiends and demons, going hand in hand with Arai's argument that childhood is both feared and idealized. Children must be nurtured but must be tightly controlled in order to prevent a societal breakdown or another incident like Shōnen A from happening.
