One of my favorite aspects of the “Saw” franchise that I feel is a little underappreciated is that the series’ casting can get a little weird at times. Not bad-weird, more like casting that’ll surprise you at times. My favorite examples:

1) Leigh Whannell as Adam in the first one. He was literally the screenwriter, so it’s a little funny that after writing the movie with James Wan, he decided to play one of the main characters.

2) Donnie Wahlberg of the boy band New Kids on the Block (and Mark Wahlberg’s brother) played corrupt detective Eric Matthews.

3) Michael Emerson, aka Benjamin Linus from Lost, played Zepp.

4) Chester Bennington of Linkin Park (R.I.P.) played the racist neo-nazi who was superglued to the seat of a car.

5) Beverly Mitchell, aka Lucy Camden of 7th Heaven, played Laura

6) This one is weird for me. Angus Macfadyen, who played Jeff Denlon, was the main villain of Equilibrium. Anyone remember that movie? It was the Matrix ripoff in which Christian Bale uses literal gun-fu to fight the fascists who declared war on emotions.

7) Scott Patterson, aka Luke Danes of Gilmore Girls, was Agent Peter Strahm.

8) Sean Patrick Flanery, aka Young Indiana Jones, was Bobby Dagen.

9) Last but not least, Chris Rock played against-type as Detective Zeke Banks.

The Flash (2014 - 2023) series ran for 184 episodes and 9 seasons. The series finale aired on May 24, 2023. The episode ran into production problems when Grant Gustin (The Flash/Barry Allen) was diagnosed with Covid. The finale saw the Flash having to try to save his timeline as he was up against the Negative Speed Force represented by Cobalt Blue (Rick Cosnett), Reverse Flash (Tom Cavanagh), Zoom (Teddy Sears), Savitar (Tobin Bell), and Godspeed (Karan Oberoi). Cecile Horton (Danielle Nicoket) took on the moniker Virtue and a new costume. Nora was born after the world was saved. She started keeping one after Chad did because she was itty bitty and wanted to be like her big brother (who mellowed out as an adult but at the time she didn't know what he was like to others in highschool). Anyway, she ended up enjoying it and now looks back at other old journals to see what she was like.

Though unlike the others she's very aware that others could potentially read it because Audrey told her about how others read and wrote in hers.

So she doesn't write anything too incriminating in there.

But she does very much write musings on Red, like you suggested in your own post and (before Red noticed her), she wrote about how jealous she was of Ace because she wanted Red to look at her like that.

(And after Red noticed her and Ace came back no longer having any romantic interest in Red, she painted over those pages so that absolutely no one could find out what she used to think of Ace).

ACADEMY REVEALS 2024 NICHOLL SCREENWRITING FELLOWS

LOS ANGELES, CA – Four individuals and one writing team have been selected as recipients of the 2024 Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. Each individual and writing team will receive a $35,000 prize and mentorship from an Academy member throughout their fellowship year. They also will participate in a week of virtual seminars, a virtual meet and greet with the Nicholl Fellowships committee, and in-person networking events, including a celebration in Beverly Hills on October 29. The Nicholl Fellowships were established in 1985 through the support of Gee Nicholl in memory of her husband, Don Nicholl.
