Jon Snow & Sansa Stark Book Parallels & Mentions 41/∞ : Jon refuses to steal Sansa’s birthright
"How can I lose men I do not have? I had hoped to bestow Winterfell on a northman, you may recall. A son of Eddard Stark. He threw my offer in my face." Stannis Baratheon with a grievance was like a mastiff with a bone; he gnawed it down to splinters. "By right Winterfell should go to my sister Sansa." "Lady Lannister, you mean? Are you so eager to see the Imp perched on your father's seat? I promise you, that will not happen whilst I live, Lord Snow."  A Dance With Dragons, Jon I

Do you have any favorite spooky/scary moments in ASOIAF?
I'm a fan of Jon Snow's second ACoK chapter, a classic example of "nothing is scarier".
Whitetree, the village was named on Sam's old maps. Jon did not think it much of a village. Four tumbledown one-room houses of unmortared stone surrounded an empty sheepfold and a well. The houses were roofed with sod, the windows shuttered with ragged pieces of hide. And above them loomed the pale limbs and dark red leaves of a monstrous great weirwood. It was the biggest tree Jon Snow had ever seen, the trunk near eight feet wide, the branches spreading so far that the entire village was shaded beneath their canopy. The size did not disturb him so much as the face... the mouth especially, no simple carved slash, but a jagged hollow large enough to swallow a sheep. Those are not sheep bones, though. Nor is that a sheep's skull in the ashes.
Everyone's gone. No signs of attack. The only signs of humans left are ash and bone. And this is the fourth village they've found like this. It's groundwork that culminates in the ASoS prologue when the White Walkers attack at the Fist of the First Men.
I also really like Lady Stoneheart's first appearance in the ASoS epilogue.

fanfic writer questions
(answered 01/21/24)
How many works do you have on AO3?
My page says 16, but 2 of those got combined into 1 fic, so it's really 14.
What's your total AO3 word count?
1,382,274
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
In order from most to least it's: The Night We Met, A Marriage of Convenience, A Little Help From Your Family, Dragons Across The Sea, & A Song For Dragons
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try my best to because I think it's important to interact with my readers and to explain the writing choices I make. I've gotten really bad at responding lately, but I promise I read every single comment. Getting a really detailed comment saying why/what you liked about a certain chapter always makes my day ❤️
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
None because I only write happy endings for jonerys and also all of my long-term fics are still ongoing!
What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
I mean The Chamber of the Painted Table had a happy ending in that jonerys ends up engaged lol. But like I said above, all my fics will have happy endings for Jon & Dany and all their targlings.
Do you write crossovers? If so, what's the craziest one you've ever written?
I don't write crossovers! Only GoT/HoTD/TWOIAF for me!
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Unfortunately, yes on both Dragons Across The Sea and A Little Help From Your Family. Most of the time it's people bashing a specific character (usually Jon or Dany).
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
When I first started writing fanfic, no. But now ... definitely lol. Is it even one of my fics if we don't have some dominant Jon, the Targaryen breeding kink, and an aunt/nephew kink?
As for the kind, M/F with a focus on dirty talk since I think that's hot. I'm not the biggest fan of reading smut that's just big long blocks of description with no dialogue, so I try to avoid that.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of!
Have you ever had a fic translated?
I don't think so. I'm open to it as long as I'm credited as the author!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
NO but that should change (hopefully) sometime later this year! Robbaery & Jonerys nation keep an eye out ... 👀
What's your all time favorite ship?
JON SNOW/DAENERYS TARGARYEN and they have no other competition in my mind.
What's a WIP you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
Hmm, that's a good one. I think Dragons Across The Sea simply because of where the story is right now. (jon and dany are still very far away in Essos - Yunkai to be exact - and with everything I have planned for that story, it's going to take a longggggg time to write all of it)
What are your writing strengths?
I personally think dialogue and inner monologue come easily to me, specifically with Jon and Dany. It's also very easy for me to write romantic scenes for my ships, I love writing my babies being in love!
What are you writing weaknesses?
Definitely describing clothing and locations. Also battle scenes make me want to throw my laptop out a window. I have such respect for the authors out there that can really write a good battle sequence without losing the audience's interest. Same with people who can describe clothing so well that I can picture it in my mind.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Well if y'all have read my stuff, you know the only other language I use is Valyrian. I think it's natural for characters like Dany, Rhaenyra, Daemon, Maester Aemon, Aemon the Dragonknight, Naerys, etc to speak it since they grew up learning it. I especially adore taking terms of endearment in English and translating them into Valyrian. Examples include ñuha jorrāelagon (my love) and ñuha prūmia (my heart).
You'll usually see me writing Jon picking up on Valyrian since Dany uses it with him. I just think it's super adorable for jonerys to call each other pet names in both the Common Tongue and Valyrian (the language of their ancestors). And of course, there's times where I write them speaking it in nsfw situations hehe.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Game of Thrones/ASOIAF and it's the only fandom I've written for so far.
What's your favorite fic you've written?
I'll say my favorite fic I've written/currently writing is The Night We Met. The progression of jonerys' relationship in that fic is everything to me, and I got super emotional when I wrote their wedding on Dragonstone. There's so many moments in that fic where I show how devoted they are to each other <3
here's my AO3!

I'm sorry, I know I'm a little late on this but I have to talk about it for a second.
What?
Let me preface this by saying that I absolutely love Emilia and have massive respect for her, and she's entitled to her opinion of course and she can be on her character's side, but...what?
How on earth does anyone think Dany did nothing wrong? She massacred a city full of a million people, including innocent children! She burned them all alive. She purposely had Drogon going from street to street, dracarys-ing everyone. She made the choice to do that! The show purposely showcased that in this scene. D&D even confirmed it with "she decides to make it personal". She 👏 made 👏 a 👏 choice 👏
I get that maybe some people didn't see it coming, especially some GA (though tbf, at this point, if you go back and rewatch, how can you miss it? It's been strongly hinted at since season 1). I get that this is some people's favorite character and they don't like that she becomes the main villain in the last bit of this series' story. But she IS the villain. She wasn't wronged. Her story wasn't butchered (she did the butchering, just saying). Her ending wasn't written badly (except that it was rushed and needed more time; if anything was bad writing it was them trying to make Dany more sympathetic to the audience in that throne room scene). She made the choice to burn KL to the ground with everyone inside it. She even confirms she made this choice to Jon in the 8x06 throne room scene. "It was necessary." Then she tries to blame Cersei! Just like she said back in 8x04!
She did do something wrong. And I'm willing to bet that Emilia knows it, too. Why else study Hitler's speeches before shooting the infamous 8x06 speech scene? Yes, actors use different material to tailor their performances, but the point being that she wouldn't have studied that material if her character wasn't going to be similar to Hitler aka the villain. If your character is the villain, clearly they did something wrong.
I get that at this con, she was surrounded by a ton of Dany fans (and HotD is airing plus the Jon Snow sequel is in the works), but they didn't force her to say that. Emilia, I love you, but please. You're just making it worse.
And the whole Jon thing? I'm not even going to get into that one. She's entitled to her opinion and like the idea of something, but yeah.

Sudden realization on why I loved 'The Outpost'
This episode of 'The Bad Batch', in a way, was terrible.
Terrible because...how do you follow a masterpiece like this?
Tumblr media
How do you do anything but re-watch that episode, over and over again, wondering how something this sublime can come out on Disney +?!
How do you come close to the drama, laconic humor, brilliant animation, character development, and grim, Dosteyevskian outlook on life after that?! In 30 minutes?! Gah.
This is a thesis that matched the argument, just so wonderfully done.
Not to mention, I'm from icy climates myself. I'm a settler on the historic homelands of the Anishinaabe/Ojibwe nation, in a lovely mix of prairie and forest. Our winters can be brutal, sometimes hitting -40 C. I've been snowed out of track meets, often ski and snowshoe up until April, and have gone both trick-or-treating and Easter egg hunting in the snow.
I love it.
The rushing sound of cold wind, the feel of ice on your cheeks, the comfort of a fire and a friend. The feeling of darkness and cold, with the quiet of the snow and the howling of endless force outside your door.
God DAMN was this episode everything.
It also reminded me of my favorite parts of one of my favorite series of all time.
All of the Wall scenes from 'Game of Thrones'.
Tumblr media
(Part of me wants to draw terrible fanart of Jon Snow and Crosshair running into each other, lol. I guess they can just huff at each other?).
Dragons and political banter and knights are fun, but the scenes involving the Wall and the Night's Watch are my favorite, and it made me realize what I loved so much about 'The Outpost'.
I love the sense of foreboding dread that winter can bring, endless ice and chill. The ongoing sense of a white horizon, the blinding brilliance of the sun on snow. Long dark nights, short, bitter days. The feel of your skin as the wind and the cold hits.
The necessary comradery that only survival in an intense, unforgiving wilderness can bring....whether you are a clone or a brother of the Night's Watch.
The dead of winter is the same for us all, especially if we are understaffed and under siege.
(And I won't go into how Mayday and Jeor Mormont were so much alike in their stoicism, dedication, and tragic devotion to protecting against horrific odds. Maybe I'll do some equally mediocre fan art of those two drinking by a fire, making smores, I don't know)
We can never have enough winter scenes in media, especially in stories of brutal heroics. Because when they are done correctly, they are projected deep into building a character's true nature and mettle.

I love the Daeron Dayne theory!
Re: And thus all of Team Green has to be bad guys in some way so that people can root for "Girl Bosses" and "People of Color" ... which as someone who is not white, I find that shit more racist than anything else.
I personally also can't wait for the optics of good bastards (the Hulls) played by black actors who stay true and loyal to team black, and evil bastards (The Two Betrayers) played by white actors who go comedic relief warlord, as well as, white girl (Jaehaera) gets murked for black 9yo beauty pageant LMFAO. Just a deeply unserious and disingenuous show. Will only be peeping the rest for the amazing performance of the team green actors tbh.
I also really like Steve Toussaint as Corlys but the show seems to not care for him beyond putting him in the role of Rhaenyra's wise wizard which comes with its own racist implications. He's a shrewd politician himself who was ready to pimp out his daughter but like everything else team black it's neither highlighted nor problematized as much as Otto/Alicent was. There's no way they're for real about that Seasnake show 😂
You joke, but I'm sure, at least before GRRM took over writing duty for Season 2, that was exactly what Spotchnik, Hess, and HBO Corporate had in mind for future seasons.
I mean it's now basically a well known fact that they tried to write Daeron out of the show, because, they didn't want Alicent or the Greens to have a heroic and moral son that is on par with Jon Snow and Robb Stark. GRRM had to fight (And fire a showrunner) to get him on the show, because, the people in Season 1 were so married to their political bullshit that they though Daeron's mere existence would spoil their racist algebra of "Team Black x Diversity + Pogressive Values = Good Guys! Team Green x White people + Catholic/Conservative Values = Bad Guys! Even in the parlance of GRRM's World that is not how things work.
Ugh, don't get me started on the Dragonseed Riders. I wish people would stop perpetuating that, somehow, they're all badasses. They fought like one battle - "The Battle of the Gullet" - in which both Aemond and Daeron were far from home. Then, they all pissed themselves when Rhaenyra tried to send them at Daeron. They literally threatened to quit, because, they were scared of Daeron and Tessarion. At Tumblestone, Hammer and Ulf shit their pants at the sight of Daeron in battle and switched sides so they wouldn't have to fight him. The only Dragonseed Rider who actually fought another Dragon was Adam Hull ... and he and Seasmoke got their asses kicked by Daeron and Tessarion - and yes, Daeron was piloting Tessarion in that battle, anyone who actually believes the maester about Tessarion doing all that shit on her own ... I got a bridge to sell you.
The only thing I looked forward too is Daeron and Hugh Hammer's rivalry. Cause Daeron really shows who he is by being Alpha as fuck going up against this jacked roid-rage rapist murderer on the biggest dragon in the world and sitting Hammer's dumb ass down every time they mix it up. I just love that the most powerful and dangerous Dragon Rider in the war is afraid of a 17 year old master swordsman who denies the Iron Throne twice and just wants his mommy back.
I mean if you polled any of the fans in 2018 everyone was saying that Daeron or Criston was their favorite character in "the Dance". It's revisionist history to say that Daemon or Corlys were popular when the book came out. I mean Daemon was GRRM's favorite and he became popular when Matt Smith took over the role - and he's damn good - but I'd argue that no one was that big a Daemon fan till Smith got cast. Daemon was a piece of shit who abandons his wife and young children to run off with an underage girl.
I do like Steve Toussaint a lot. I especially love that he and the actress who play Rhaenys are big fans of GOT and I love them together on the press tour. To be honest with you, I knew all the way back in 2018 that they were probably gonna race swap the Velaryons, because, even in the book House Velaryon stank of "Marketability" - You mean the House that is only ever mentioned in passing in ASoIaF and plays no bigger role except getting wiped out at the "Battle of Blackwater"? It had the stench of HBO on it from the beginning. So when they announced Toussaint as the Sea Snake, I wasn't mad nor surprised cause Corlys felt like a Corporate character from the inception.
I also agree with you that it bothers me a whole lot that somehow Corlys got a pass for doing the exact same thing to his own - much younger - daughter as Otto did and for the exact same reason. Except that I think it's much worse. On some level, I think Otto knew what he was doing was wrong and at least he never justified his bullshit with Alicent. Corlys not only did the same thing, but he was entitled when he did it. He didn't give a shit, not about Viserys or Laena. At least Otto eased Alicent and Viserys together and fostered a friendship. Corlys was just "You're gonna get Funky with Strawberry Shortcake and you're gonna like it!" like she wasn't even his daughter.

My Love/Hate Relationship with Rhaenyra Targaryen
Tumblr media
AKA I really wanted her to be the Daenerys of the show
TW for SA talk
——————-
Alright, I admit it. I haven’t read the books. I’m a TV asoiaf fan.
The reason for that is honestly, especially after the rampant s*xual violence shown on GOT, I didn’t have much interest in reading a book about the systematic oppression of women and non-nobles (aka white people) that was written by a white guy.
YEAH I ADMIT IT. It gets tiring as a DV survivor having someone born with privilege tell those stories.
But there was one person (okay three people) kept me hooked on the story.
Tumblr media
Watching Daenerys’s struggles, growth and eventual victory was incredibly cathartic for me. By the start of season 8 I was about in awe of her as I was of Jon Snow.
Tumblr media
We’re not going to talk about season 8 today. That’s for another wall of text lol.
I wanna talk about Rhaenyra. Specifically, Milly Alcock’s Rhaenyra vs Emma D’Arcy’s Rhaenyra. I’m not sure if this was done purposely. It may just be the consequence of two different people playing the same role. But to me there really is a tragedy in the character when you examine the two actresses.
Tumblr media
After the first episode I immediately knew Rhaenyra was my favorite character. This had nothing about her actual story, and everything to do with Milly’s portrayal of her.
Tumblr media
She’s a free spirit trapped in a stifling, patriarchal world. She was given the title of heir despite of tradition, and she wore it proudly on her chest. She wasn’t going to let anyone, even the Queen Who Never Was, tell her anything different.
She offered advice during the council as cupbearer on the Stepstones conflict. And while her father was annoyed, she received a nod of respect from Corlys. When Otto faces off with Daemon and Dragonstone, they are literally at each others throats ready to strike when she randomly shows up ON A FUCKING DRAGON AND STOPS A CIVIL WAR.
Tumblr media
And let me remind you that she was the only one who held NO FEAR of Daemon. NONE. Milly made a strong female lead out of Rhaenyra. I really believed that she was going to be the wheel-breaker of the show. She would do what she wanted, not allow herself a political pawn, marry who she wanted to marry (cristoncolecristoncolectistoncoleakdhfkas) and be the strong queen of the seven kingdoms that Daenerys wanted to be.
Now let’s talk about Emma D’Arcy’s Rhaenyra
Tumblr media
That’s it. That’s the whole argument.
I kid I kid, but I’m also not kidding.
This is not a slight on the actress herself. In fact, I think Emma is doing a fantastic job of portraying the reality of Rhaenyra’s story - fantastic potential that ultimately became tragedy.
She decides to take her uncle’s advice and play the game. She does what her father wants. Agrees to a political marraige while finding comfort in someone else. In her misery, she becomes part of the wheel. She also makes reckless decisions - aka having sons with Harwin. If Laenor truly was sterile, she could have petitioned for an annulment and marry someone else. But I think at that point, she was so miserable that she didn’t even care about sabatoging herself. She was no longer living true to the Rhaenyra that Milly had showed us.
Tumblr media
I honestly look forward to Emma’s acting when the Dance actually begins. We’re going to see a dark ruthlessness in Rhaenyra that we haven’t seen yet.
Tumblr media
By the time she finally does return to herself, it’s far too late. The Dance of Dragons had already been set in motion.
Not only that, but Rhaenyra is not that young girl full of promise. She’s bitter, she’s paranoid, and she’s angry. Angry that the road she took did not lead her to the crown.
She betrayed herself for absolutely nothing.
Tumblr media
The promise of that strong, just queen we see in the first episode was just that. A broken promise. It’s SUCH A FUCKING TRAGEDY.
And unfortunately, for dreamers like me, the tragedy is the story.

Living in Hollywood and working in Hollywood and working for someone who is related to someone who works for someone that is work-related to the Game of Thrones crew and therefore possibly people working on Snow, I feel like I can’t outright say “Fuck Kit Harington” for the things he said about Dany in the GOT Con panel today but.... I’m really disappointed in him, I’ll say that much. (If you’d like to know what Kit said during the panel, read THIS thread on Twitter, other threads have more info but this gives the gist).
When it was first announced Kit was behind the Snow spinoff, I legitimately had some hope for it and, further finding out about GRRM’s direct involvement (when he had virtually none in the final few seasons of GOT), I had a lot of hope for it that it would try to steer his character’s ending (and maybe a few others) back to what was originally intended in the books, if our theories were correct that the show was complete D&D fan fiction.
What purpose could Kit - but especially GRRM - have for creating this spinoff other than to “fix” or at least attempt to fix what D&D had broken with the end of Game of Thrones? Money? Returning to the cash-cow, as they say? I had hoped this wasn’t the case.
And then Emilia was at that panel for the DIFLondon event and said so many hopeful and lovely things about Dany AND JON that I thought, what else could the spinoff be but a way to make all those lovely things a reality? With Kit being Emilia’s alleged best friend, and the two having talked about it before the news was leaked, it made sense to me that she would be a part of it, if not full on producing it with Kit.
But with the shit Kit said about Jon killing Dany “feeling right”, I just don’t know. That hope I had for the spinoff is definitely crushed, I can’t say that it’s not. Is it crushed completely? Probably not, because I’m a fucking idiot and even with the leaks of 8x05, I still went into watching that episode hoping Dany wouldn’t burn down King’s Landing. That’s just the kind of dumbassery my pea brain participates in.
The pea brain is scrambling to rationalize everything at the moment. Excuses such as “well, it’s what he said in all his official interviews when the season first came out, all the things he was “forced” to say, but it still differs from things he’s said in less formal settings” and “when asked who he thought should have been King of the Seven Kingdoms, he said he thought it should be Jon Snow even though in the past he’s said he didn’t think Jon should be King because it didn’t suit his character so he’s clearly just saying random shit to please the audience...” Kit also said his favorite season was S2 because there were more character moments so was that a secret dig at everything that went on in later seasons without outright saying he hated them? He also said he was “shell shocked” (yeah, we fucking know, we know he went to goddamn rehab about it) when at the table read and found out Jon kills Dany. He said Ned Stark would not have approved of him killing Dany. He said he hoped Jon would be able to find love again but also said he thought Jon would have issues being in another relationship because of his trauma from what happened with Dany and Ygritte.
All of which just seems....all over the place.
Was killing Dany right? Or is Kit’s real opinion what he speculated would have been Ned’s opinion on the situation? Should Jon find love again or is he too fucked up for love? Should Jon have been King or is it not appropriate for the type of character he is? What are the real answers, Kit??
People are also saying that, as with previous GOT panels, everything here was rehearsed / the questions were definitely vetted, meaning the answers may have been rehearsed / pre-written too. But if HBO execs are vetting questions and telling Kit what to say, are they basing his answers on only the previous series or do they write his answers according to what Kit and GRRM have planned for the spinoff. And if the former and not the latter, does that mean none of what Kit said is how he actually feels and therefore should not be taken as a sign of what’s to come for the spinoff..................?
You would think that a question about the spinoff would have been NUMBER 1 on the questioners’ priority list but no one asked / Kit said nothing about it (which is ODD considering most people speculated that HBO would use this as an opportunity to officially announce that the spinoff was happening, considering, what the fuck else was the purpose of Kit even being there, if not to build up hype for his new show?)
I’m rambling. Fuck it, I’ll ramble. And I’ll just say, I don’t think his answer about Jon killing Dany was entirely his own and that it was probably pre-written for him by the HBO marketing team who wouldn't give a fuck about the audience’s opinions on Dany. Of course Kit would have to say Dany needed to die after murdering nearly a million people in a single day, or of course the marketing department would make him say that, as they don’t want people thinking, hey, we and our actors are cool with mass murder, even if it’s fictional.
Am I still upset about what Kit said? Absolutely. Do I think the answer was all his own? Not entirely. Do I think this means anything for the plot of the Jon Snow spinoff? Entirely up in the air. Will the pea brain still have hope for this spin off? Possibly. Even if I believed Kit did answer entirely honestly and that he thought Jon killing Dany “felt right” for their ending together, I still can’t fathom what a Jon Snow spinoff would be about if it didn’t somehow involve her being resurrected. It’s still a limited series. Jon still has fuck all to do up at the Wall with 0 character plot intrigue. Even if they did a “hey, the Night King and the White Walkers aren't really gone,” I don’t know how it would work without Dany. Maybe that’s wishful thinking. Maybe Kit would pull the ultimate beyond ultimate of betrayals and have Drogon return and make Jon his new rider as many Dany haters have speculated....?
Who knows? Whatever. I’m still rambling. I’m all over the place. We have nothing new to obsess over so I will be thinking about this for far longer than is necessary and reading into it far more than is necessary for something that, again, was probably just some generic bullshit written by some marketing intern.

Right, him complimenting Tae is odd because Jungkook isn't one to just go on and on about. So that struck me as odd, and because he would never - and I mean that - do the same with Jimin. Has he said jimin was cute, pretty, sexy, etc etc? yes, he has. He even put Jimin first in the looks ranking in 2019 -that video is one of my favorites because jimin is just so pleased- but, no one can convince me he would be talking about jimin's beauty for thirty seconds for no reason. He just wouldn't, he hasn't. In fact, everytime they talk about visuals he is always talking about taehyung and seokjin, never jimin. Every single time Jungkook is the one to say "they are the most handsome in the group" while Jimin will not hesitate one second to say it's jungkook, lmao. But it's the length of it that makes me stop and question what he wanted to achieve with that. And I realize I sound deranged rn, but I also feel like sharing all these feelings help us see things more clearly too. Right now all of his actions are clouded with how I feel about them. And yes, I do sound insane. But I just need to share with someone.
Let's be cray cray and have catharsis hashing it out together, nonie! :-)
So, I know that Tae is considered the paragon of beauty in some parts of the world (he's not to my personal taste but he IS objectively lovely and even more importantly, he has some very attractive qualities outside of his appearance--particularly the way he interacts with animals, children, etc., his great taste in music, how his unusual brain works, all his skill sets. Tae is a great guy, even if some of his fans are RABID ASSHOLES, and I'm totally fine with the other members raving about him. Doesn't diminish Jimin in any way to compliment his soulmate). So JK had a drink and waxed rhapsodic about Tae being handsome. What made me cringe about that was just knowing how certain folks were going to take that and run like hell. I know, you know, the kitchen counter knows, it was said in part to feed the cult (and probably in part b/c he just really thinks Tae is handsome). And so the more he does that--the more he plays Cinderella or sits on laps or holds stares in belabored silences--the more Jimin gets targeted by the rabid assholes. And he probably knows. But I guess it's just par for the course in their business. They probably can't make a single move without somebody somewhere having a problem and twisting it around. JK and Tae genuinely are close friends. Tae and Jimin genuinely are close friends. I feel there was a time when both Tae and JK had crushes on Jimin. For Jimin, it was always Jungkook. But lately, there's this weird distance. And it makes me question everything that's come before, ya know? Because whether I were in the closet or out and proud and *I* loved someone, I would not flirt with anyone else. I would not minimize our time together as just because my partner happens to be around. I wouldn't ignore his solo work or fail to notice his tattoo. But that's ME. That's how my brain and heart work. These are global rockstars with very big personalities and a very warped reality. We must accept that it's entirely possible Jeon Jungkook is a different person with Park Jimin than JK is with Jimin. In the end, I don't know anything. I KNOW AS MUCH AS JON SNOW, which is NOTHING. LOL. In my heart, I hope it's just that Jimin and JK are growing up, their relationship is maturing, what happens in front of cameras is work, and what happens privately is loving and supportive, especially during this uncertain period. That's my hope. All I have is hope right now.

What are some of your favorite fan theories in general?
I am probably forgetting some that I'll kick myself for later but off the top of my head & these are more of like my own personal readings I'm realizing BUT
Fight Club is......gay. Like it's not really a fan theory it's just reading the text and reading a little extra into some things I guess. I think the anti-capitalist message is more important but it's definitely interesting and like they made the movie intentionally homoerotic, David Fincher said as much.
In Mr. Robot: This isn't so much a fan theory as just like a side-canon thing that wasn't explored so much (because it wasn't necessary or important in the show with a tightly bound plot and a character incredibly and understandably repressed in his sexuality and intimacy and relationships, period)...but Elliot being nonbinary isn't something I personally would like label him as but he definitely was not into binaries, period, and was a big time ally, especially in the Red Wheelbarrow side book. (But there's a lot of "proof" of him being nb to some extent and lots of people headcanon it and I say go for it.) Love that guy. And I think Tyrell was bi not gay. Personally.
In CMBYN: I think Oliver is capital G gay and knew it but was repressed for a lot of reasons and never was going to be out and fluid like Elio and so he used him that summer. Or he's bi but regardless I think going into the summer he knew he had feelings for men and was with men before. Is there any way of knowing for sure? Nope! But I just think so.
In GOT/ASOIAF I always like R+L=J (aka Jon Snow's parentage, which was canon in the show and most likely in the books too, which had way more foreshadowing, I've been told and certainly believe). I don't like how they did it in the show but still lol. That was a fun one.
In Blade Runner: I don't know that it's actually true and it probably isn't but I definitely am very intrigued by the reading and idea that Deckard is a replicant! After BR2049 I kinda lean towards he isn't but also who the hell knows??? I love the mystery that shrouds his character, ugh.
Oh, back to Friends, this is one I don't think is true BUT is fun and it's that Rachel is a lesbian with strong ass comphet LMAO. Again, don't think it's true, but v v fun nevertheless. (Chandler being bi/homophobic cross section tho is much more believable and like yeah. He calls himself a lesbian so many times????????)

ETERNALS SPOILERS FOR IKARIS
DOST HATH BEEN WARNED
honestly, i haven’t been a fan of marvel since probably around infinity war, so i’m just a major grumpy pants in general. feel free to disagree with me.
but ikaris bothers me so much.
not in that he was the plot twist villain, i was fine with that and having a conflicted character is always interesting, especially with a premise like eternals.
but it was in how they misused him.
we never saw ajak telling ikaris the eternals’ true purpose on earth. we never saw him leave sersi. we never saw how these things affected him (or anyone else for that matter sersi just started fucking his cousin to get over him).
there was a lot of exposition dumping in eternals, and there has to be because of how new all of these concepts are (especially since they throw all of the beginning exposition away for plot twists).
but the only tell of how any of these events affects ikaris is in how he doesn’t like that ajak chose sersi to be leader.
richard madden can play a conflicted leader type character. this is evident in bodyguard, which is one of my favorite shows and made him one of my favorite actors.
but eternals completely wastes the subtlety that madden can show. all of his 'emotional' moments are just a single tear and him brooding. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. it happens like five times like jesus christ have other emotions please other than evil brooding and crybaby.
i’m not happy with almost any of the character work done in eternals and i think every single actor was wasted in one way or another because there simply isn’t enough time to flesh everyone out and have a satisfying plot. and you can see that in how most of the actual conflict happens in the last hour (?) of the movie and everything before that was setup and exposition (which is why the pacing is kind of a mess).
the “icarus flying too close to the sun” metaphor is also terrible. it would really only work in this context if he was more headstrong and took more action by himself but he’s just pouty the entire time.
he also isn't malicious in the way that he knows something that the others don’t. he acts like a petty bitch who didn’t get a promotion.
ikaris is extremely unlikeable from the very beginning. he kind of acts like jon snow in s6-8 in that he stands around being sad (with no other personality trait), so the plot twist doesn’t work because we aren't attached to him (or really anyone in my opinion but that's just me I didn't connect with any of the characters). if he were just a good ol' fashion villain from the start, maybe this personality would work. there's no emotional pull in this conflict and it comes so out of left field that it left me almost completely uninterested in the final fight.
and then his refusal to kill sersi is so dumb because their relationship is not nearly developed enough to make us care (and the boinking scene was no bueno).
AND THEN HE COMMITS SUICIDE BY LITERALLY FLYING TOO CLOSE TO THE SUN THAT IS THE DUMBEST SHIT EVER WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK JUST BECAUSE HIS NAME IS IKARIS DOESN'T MEAN YOU NEED TO BE THAT LITERAL
it's a pretty big meme that marvel has bad villains, and this just serves to further prove it because ikaris is basically the main villain and he isn't fleshed out AT ALL.
anyways, thanks for reading my bird brain thoughts

being a sansa fan is so exhaustive, because on one side you have the irrational haters that exaggerate her flaws (I've seen ppl call her a sociopath, say she "bullied" jon snow, or abusive towards sweetrobin for not allowing him to sleep in her bed) and on the other side, you have the overly defensive, delusional stans that pretend she is perfect (they deny she ever did arya wrong, pretend she is absolutely knowledgeable in all areas) and I'm like... I just want to enioy my favorite character!!
I feel so bad for you guys whose favorite character is book!Sansa. It sucks that her most well-known “““fans””” are people who like the show-version of her better (they literally deleted her character after season 4 and replaced her with a completely different person and story!). I’m really just so tired of the stan culture stuff, especially since it just… doesn’t work with ASOIAF and the way it’s written. Like, there’s a difference between having a favorite character and how some of these people behave.
Also, as someone who’s favorite character is Jon Snow, I can promise you that the only people who say that Sansa bullied Jon or that Catelyn abused him are people that want to hate on Sansa and Cat, not people who actually care about Jon. From what we know from Jon’s thoughts, Sansa just ignored him, not viewing him as a full sibling like the other kids did. There are no scenes or memories of her bullying him in the way she did Arya.
Anyway, I guess the best that we ASOIAF fans can do is just keep reminding people that the books are a completely different story with completely different characters, and keep appreciating the book characters for who they are while ignoring the fanon interpretations that have been created by the show and its fans.

Why the recent chapters of Attack on Titan are still good
This is probably an unpopular opinion but I just need to rant because I saw a tumblr answer here where someone actually compared the current Attack on Titan Chapters to GAME OF THRONES SEASON 8? REALLY.
As a victim of Game of Thrones season 8, I am so offended for Attack on Titan and for Isayama who is still doing a good job on delivering the story.
And a lot of my timeline really is a bubble of complaints with every new chapter released. They’re shitting on everyone dying and they’re shitting on the whole Eren killing everyone thing and so many female characters sidelined unfairly and Armin being tongued.
The Game of Thrones ending was an insult to its fans. It was lazy writing. Yams latest chapters were far GOT lazy and not a lot of what he is building up to here in the final chapters is unfounded or as illogical as Tyrion Lannister deciding that hiding people in a crypt is a good idea or Daenyrys deciding to burn down King’s Landing or Jamie Lannister going back to Circe and getting killed by rocks.
To be honest, the only thing I still have issues with is Hange dying in such a fashion (which hasn’t even been completely confirmed yet because the Beast Titan thing can still happen.)
But anyway, I’m gonna go through the complaints I see everyone on my timeline make every time a new chapter comes out and why they were pretty logical developments to the story as painful as they were.
Eren being Crazy and Everyone dying in the Rumbling
I just recently finished a rewatch of Season 3 Attack on Titan and the rumbling has been set up since then. There was one quote where “If the walls are disturbed, Karl Fritz threatens to release the titans inside the walls and flatten the world” and this was mentioned so early into the show as Season 3. And what happened at the start of the show? Colossal titan smashes walls, Eren’s mother dies, Eren goes crazy, 9 years later he starts the rumbling. Very Logical. Not at all unfounded. In fact, hinting at the rumbling so early into the story is pretty genius story writing. Making Eren responsible for the rumbling, masterful writing and masterful progression too.
Armin being Tongued
I brought this up in a previous post already but tongueing Armin like that when they wanted to kidnap him was the most logical choice. You know what’s lazy writing? Or a plothole? Not tongueing Armin because that brings up the question of “Why didn’t Armin just bite his tongue to turn into the colossal titan?”
Levi being Useless and Injured
Okay, We understand Levi was supposed to be built up to some big character. But Yo, he survived an explosion less than a week ago. Of course he wouldn’t be able to fight. And of course he’d start coughing blood and almost dying in the middle of the battle. Wouldn’t it be more of a plothole if Levi just started going beyblade against them? Maybe it’s an unpopular opinion but the fact that Yams still put a spotlight on the gravity of Levi’s injury felt far better for me than if Yams just set it aside and made Levi fight like normal. Because Levi shouldn’t be fighting like normal? Especially after being bed ridden the past 7 chapters.
“I feel like he’s just being dragged around.” The manga isn’t over, Yams will let something play out. I have no idea what it is but Yams has plans for Levi and I’m pretty sure the plans will still be better than what happened to Jon Snow.
Hange being dead
I’m probably just being a Beast Titan Theory Simp now but...  The manga isn’t over, Yams will let something play out. If Hange’s death isn’t further explained, this will definitely be a flaw in my book.
Hisu being Pregnant
As painful as this was, it had been set up since before. Eren mentioned it multiple times that he did not want to tell anyone about the royal blood because he knew they were going to turn Historia into a baby mill which was exactly what happened. Eren Kruger said the same thing when they turned Dina Fritz into a titan.  The “unfair tratment” of Historia’s character is just the mastery of a Chekhov’s gun being shot and a beloved character being the victim.
Falco and Gabi being Overpowered?
Mikasa and Eren were pretty overpowered too in the first season as kids. This is probably an Anime only flaw but Eren should not have been able to beat Annie or Reiner with the limited training he had yet we still accept that as fact because yo why not.
And Falco and Gabi swooping in to take over a lot for them is setting up to be a bigger thing. Yams will not introduce kids as important characters if he did not have plans for them. Falco being the first flying titan has been set up since chapter 90 and really, what would be the point of it if he didn’t save their ass at least once right.
The Final Battle is Being Dragged on for Too Long
So, I’m assuming you want a Game of Thrones-esque final battle where Gabi just swoops in and stabs him in the back and he dissipates into pieces like the NIght King which only lasts two episodes? And they decide to go back for the rest of the chapters and play Quidditch? The pacing is not at all bad. So far, I don’t see Isayama doing some asspull with what’s been happening. The ending will not be the happiest but we kinda should have expected that when the story started with a massacre in Shiganshina.
Why are people so surprised and offended that Yams is hurting their favorite characters? Why is what happens to our favorite characters the measure of whether or not something is trash. While I’m at it, why is how Isayama treats his characters a measure of whether or not Isayama is “messed up” or “trash” too? (Like seriously, can we put personal insults at the author out of this?)
The writing is flawed but it’s far from a mess. It’s still very tight. The progression is still very logical.  They literally introduced the show to us with a massacre in Shiganshina district and people have been dying left and right since the show started. Why are people so bothered about the blood and the gore in the finale and where their favorite characters are. Fine, we’re all attached. I’m bothered too. But why is what’s happening to the characters, a measure of whether a chapter is good or not? In fact, shouldn’t the final battle be that gory anyway? It would have just been a crazy disappointment if they tuned it down right?
It’s painful to watch our characters go through this but to be honest, at this rate, I honestly admire Isayama for having the courage to kill off and destroy characters like this left and right. In fact, the fact that Isayama is so willing to do these to his characters knowing they are fan favorites is a true testament to someone who writes for themselves more than anything and are completely faithful to their story. This is something which should actually be admired.
The characters were not at all Game of Thrones levels of butchered. The characters developed like expected and they were set up in very ingenious ways. They all just became a victim to the circumstances laid out before them which have been set up a hundred chapters ago already.
So are the people who are complaining angry about the circumstances? But the current circumstances don’t necessarily mean the chapters and the quality of the story are trash right?
So are they latest chapters trash? No they’re not. IN FACT THEY ARE SO FAR FROM GAME OF THRONES ENDING LEVEL TRASH.
Are their circumstances trash? Yes. Their circumstances are trash.
Is Isayama being lazy? To a degree.
But mind you, it has not been confirmed yet how many more chapters there will be. Isayama admitted that he hadn’t even completely storyboarded the ending. The director of the anime and the editor still have no idea when Yams plans on ending it.
I have my own qualms and complaints about the ending too and where this is going but so far, I’m seeing a net positive quality wise. A lot of the complaints IMO are unfounded.
The claim that AOT is reaching GOT levels of trash? Unfounded IMO
The claims that Isayama is fucked up, messed up an asshole over how he chooses to end his story. Completely unfounded. Why the hell are we attacking the creator over what and how he chooses to end his story?
I know a lot of people probably won’t agree with me on this but genuinely I have been enjoying the latest chapters even with my favorite characters getting hurt left and right. The quality of the story is still good, Isayama still manages to tie up a lot of the loose ends. He still manages to keep a lot of his characters in character.
Like all of you though, I’m praying the ending won’t disappoint.

Hope this is okay to ask but I was wondering what your thoughts are on the way Tyrion is treated by some of the fandom, especially Cersei stans? I feel he is held to a different standard to other male characters and as someone with an invisible disibility irl it makes me a bit uncomfortable. I’ve seen many “Lannister stans” who either hate him or want to ignore he exists.
sure it’s okay to ask don’t worry ;)
that said: when it comes to tyrion’s fandom treatment especially on tumblr there’s like a whole bunch of like... WE’RE ABLEIST BUT MASKING IT BEHIND FAKE WOKE ARGUMENTS crap going on because not counting the fact that show!tyrion has been what he was since S5 bc dnd can’t obviously write him and stopped giving peter decent material after then and it shows, but like... show!tyrion being nowhere near as complex as the book version is a problem that 99% of the show characters had so I don’t think it’s like a valid argument:
the premise is that tyrion is outside like TUMBLR and the likes circles a clear fan favorite when it comes to the general audience if not the fan favorite - like there’s more tyrion merch than idk jon snow merch and maybe maybe he was 50/50 with dany but like... I think that if we did a general poll tyrion would come out as the most liked character, which... I mean fair tyrion is an a+ character and he’s extremely relatable on a whole shitload of levels and let me tell you if a disabled character is for once the main fan favorite I won’t complain:
problem is beyond the fact that he’s disabled he’s... about everything tumblr hates in the sense that a) man, b) (presumably) straight man who has a lot of sex to deal with his issues, c) his issues are not exactly pleasant to deal with, d) not Standard Attractive, e) basically his one trump card is outsmarting people so it’s really easy to attach the whole AH MANIPULATING SCHEMING ASSHOLE argument to him, f) an abuse victim from at least his father and cersei but we all know men can’t be abused on this website *rolleyes* plus he hates the shit out of cers/ei which like.. is apparently the cardinal sin and the key to being labeled a misogynist always, which automatically means that when it comes to tumblr asoiaf fandom nine times on ten people will ignore the fact that his disability is a reason people discriminate him and that the treatment he received because of it gave him TRAUMA and start going like AH BUT HE’S A MAN AH BUT HE’S RICH which... doesn’t mean he can’t be traumatized even if he has male and money privilege;
for what it’s worth anyway bc as stated okay being a lannister did mean that he had a better upbringing/situation economically than a commoner with dwarfism but that doesn’t make his abuse any less damaging, but people on here just... don’t seem to get it;
but yeah like the point is that male chars on tumblr are already held at different standards than female ones (again theon gets more shit than cersei ever had for doing a lot less horrid stuff) but tyrion as... the mega fan favorite especially in within the male fanbase (reddit/w-org and the likes) is held to an extra standard in the sense that if the dudebro faction likes him then he’s BAD NEWS, which means that the fact that he’s disabled and that it affects his life is thoroughly ignored because they have to cry about how he has male privilege over c. and so she can’t abuse him (which... lmao the day I read that shit in S2 I was so out, but whatever);
anyway thing is: ‘lannister stans’ in my experience is a thing that like... is weird in this fandom because actually I never met a supposed lannister stan who likes all of them or who doesn’t ignore some exist, like.. usually most lannister stans who pretend tyrion doesn’t exist are either c. stans or tywin stans or both and don’t get me started on how this fandom has a weirdass tywin worship thing going on for which they think tyrion killing him is an unforgivable crime when it was basically what that asshole deserved and the narrative is having tyrion go in the downward spiral for shae not for tywin. c. stans usually say they also stan jaime but like... they stan whichever version of jaime they think exist that is compatible for a book ending that has the murder suicide thing happening that doesn’t exist in the books and they ignore tyrion exists same as their fave, but then again here we fall back in the pit where everything c. specifically does is seen as either fight against the patriarchy or feminist rebellion or trauma justification on account of c. being a woman and if a man does it it’s horrid or if she does it to a man then it doesn’t matter, so like... it’s a lost cause;
anyway like if someone say they’re a lannister stan and ignore tyrion when whether they like it or not tyrion is the only lannister in the main five povs (which i’d like to remind everyone are jon dany tyrion arya and bran regardless of whoever is everyone’s fave) and the one that has most narrative weight then like... just say you like c. or tywin and go;
tldr: while I think that the show did tyrion a lot of dirt in order to make him more... idk cleaned up when the book character is good as it is, tumblr fandom is swimming deep in ableism and denying that men can be abused and affected by that when it comes to tyrion’s treatment, never mind in the neverending absolutely shallow argument that’s everywhere in asoiaf fandom which is that no one outside specific group of people has understood that one of the key messages of these books is ‘how you look outside doesn’t mean shit about your personality and people who aren’t standard attractive are people with needs and personality who also deserve love and have a lot to give and will meet someone who’ll give it to them’, because the race is basically shipping beautiful ppl together even if it makes sense and negating at all turns that brienne/arya/tyrion/sandor/anyone else who’s not standard attractive are like... viable romantic partners on an even level with whoever so there’s that too, but like I think that on tumblr it shows that ppl are extremely hypocritical when it comes to tyrion and that it shows that their wokeness stops at the surface bc if you read those books and miss The Fucking Point when it comes to tyrion’s disability... text comprehension where have you gone ;)
also when it comes from c. stans** I just sigh and roll my eyes but then again c. stans generally think c. is the only person in these books with justified issues and trauma reaction and downplay not only how she abuses others but also the effects on the ppl she abuses whether they’re men or women so like... they don’t even admit how she is with jaime do we think they’d admit it for tyrion? doubt that.
**before everyone else jumps on me: with c. stans I mean the vocal side of c. standom where almost everyone is like that and from whom I never saw once an acknowledgment that she actually did abuse him (or anyone kllkjkgdj), not whichever c. stan around who likes her because she’s terrible/recognizes that she’s bad etc, I mean no ill will, if you didn’t feel called out reading it it wasn’t about you, peace and love.
