So, miles to km is 1.6, right? And the inverse of that is 0.6 or thereabouts, but I can't quickly do inverses in my head.
Okay, now what's the ratio for pounds to kg? I learned it as 2.2kg to the pound, not 0.45 pounds to kg.
Now on any given day, if you ask me to regurgitate one of those ratios, I am 90% likely to get it wrong. I'll quote you the other ratio or otherwise mix them up. Kilometers are bigger than miles, so 1 mile = 2.2 km, maybe? (No.)
But I can do Fibonacci in my sleep, maybe because I'm a programmer by trade. And because I'm trained as an engineer, estimation ratios like that are my bread-and-butter.
The other day I taught this trick to a friend of mine who's a graphic designer. She doesn't know the Fibonacci sequence by name, but she sure as hell does know the Golden Ratio. Never underestimate the utility of different ways of looking at a problem.
(My other favorite estimation ratio? To convert between Fahrenheit and Celsius, start with 20°C is 70°F and ±5°C is ±10°F. Is it perfect? No, but if you're trying to read a weather report and figure out how warm you're going to feel today, it's close enough.)
Fun little math trick I find really helpful: the ratio of a mile to a kilometer is within 1% of the Golden Ratio. That means that if you have a good memory for Fibonacci numbers (1 2 3 5 8 13 21 34 55 89) you can convert pretty accurately by taking consecutive Fibonacci numbers.
For example, 89 kilometers is really close to 55 miles (55.3). Or, say you need to convert 26 miles to kilometers: 26 can be written as 21 plus 5, so taking the next Fibonacci number up gives 34 and 8, meaning it should be around 42 kilometers. Sure enough, it's 41.8 km!

I’m seeing a bunch of posts that make me think most USAmericans don’t know about The No Surprises Act.
It was passed in 2021 (thank you Biden) and essentially states that if you don’t have insurance or your insurance doesn’t cover a service you need (or want) you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of care. (If your insurance does cover the service, you should be able to estimate the cost of care based on your deductible and co-pay.)
As a healthcare provider who does not accept any insurance, I am very careful to not violate The No Surprises Act. Why? Because for every penny more than $400 that the Good Faith Estimate was “off” (or if it wasn’t provided), you are entitled to a refund for that amount.
Y’all. Ask for a Good Faith Estimate. Get it in writing. Compare it to what you are paying. If you are not provided an estimate or if it’s wrong by more than $400, demand a refund.

Hi I'm wondering if you know how old was Genjutsu Hozuki was when he died and when he died I think he died before Tobirama death in Year 33
First off, the name is not Genjutsu.
It is Gengetsu Hozuki.
Secondly, there is no official statement that reveals Gengetsu's age.
We can only estimate his age based on his appearance and compare him to likes of Tobirama and Second Raikage.
The fact that Gengetsu wasn't present in the first kage summit might indicate the possiblity that He could be considerably younger than Third Mizukage (who appears to be a few years younger than Hashirama Senju).
What do we have now is Hashirama's age which is probably 26 at the time he invites other villages' leaders to the first kage summit. Gengetsu may be 10-15 years younger than Hashirama or simply just inexperienced and not a well known shinobi at the time.
If i were to estimate his age at the time of death (which i think is before Tobirama's death as the most plausible scenario is The Second Hokage's sacrificed fueled Hiruzen's motivation who succeeded at ending the war), i'd say that he looks like a man in his 40's but if i were to consider the kage summit perspective then he is supposed to be in late 20's-early 30's.
Does it make sense? I mean this is a man that is fighting in world war. I expect him to look way older than he actually is due to intense pressure and stress that atmosphere had on his body.
Genetics also play a factor as Hashirama doesn't look much younger than he was shortly after becoming the hokage, and Hashirama had died around 10-15 years after founding konoha alongside Madara. Tobirama is like that too. It's only natural if Gengetsu is around the same age as his peer Tobirama but seems like an old man in comparison.
I'd say he was 35-40.
