The signal filtered through the receptor speakers so clearly and with so little interference that Wolfwood startled, as though a stranger had manifested in the cockpit with them. But it was still the five of them, frozen in their concentration. He didn’t recognize the voice or this lonely, haunted string of words, meaningless and unhelpful at the edge of the galaxy. No coordinates, no name, no identification. As if, more than anything, they wanted to be remembered, not rescued. It played over and over again like a song: I’m sorry, and I love you. I’m sorry, and I love you. I’m sorry, and I love you. This wasn’t a distress signal. It was an elegy. // Wolfwood has spent the better part of his sorry life working in a refuse and litter ship, cleaning up the vestiges of a bygone galactic disaster. On the last flight of his career, his ship picks up a lonely call into the dark.

I really can't do this fic justice with a summary without spoilers but like!!! Vash and Wolfwood stuck on a planet together!!! Stranded!!! Learning to work together and trust each other!!!!! I love them!!!!!!!

Fantastic characterizations, for both WW and Vash, and a nice little twist to reincarnation in the sequel. Completed. 

Someday out of the Blue, by tenshinokorin

Sequel to the above, just as fantastically written. Completed.

CAUSE OF DEATH (See instructions and examples), by neatrogenous

Fix-it with a spectacular twist and amazing dialogue. Absolutely loved every single interaction in this. Completed. (ch 13/13)

Black is the Color, by tenshinokorin

Fix-it that features a ghost and Vash’s powers, a fic that takes its time getting to the actual resurrection but that time it takes is spectacular. Loved every bit of it (and all of tenshinokorin’s writing in general, tbh). Completed.

The lie behind the golden truth, by jevana

The reincarnation fic that I didn’t know I needed, but oh boy did I! WW is reborn as an independent. The world building in this is also top notch and lovely to delve into. On-going (ch 10/?).

Gah, this one! Post-Trimax, WW lives, they go on a trip, it’s got so much feels and it’s so well written! Also features VW taking over the orphanage and forests! Completed. (Prequel to this one is here but it’s on-going, ch 1/3).

Tomorrows, by fullmetalheart

Very good coping fic, very soothing for the soul imho. Reading it makes me smile in a uniquely quiet, peaceful way. Completed.

Just a Hobby, by fullmetalheart

I still remember how hard this one hit me at times, while reading. Resurection-in-far-future fic that’s done superbly, with great characterizations and one particular line (the title) that I’ll never forget. Completed.

Gaps of Sunlight, by ghosttopiary

I… don’t know how to describe this one. It won’t make anyone here feel any better. But it is absolutely gorgeous. Tissues and soothing background music recommended. Completed. 

IN EXCELSIS DEO, by adlvnam

This miiight make some people feel better, but damn is it ever heavy. It ends on such a light note, though, like a little peck of hope and sunshine after some dark dark dark. Completed.

Again, no words. Just… god just read this. It’ll tear your heart out and then won’t exaaaactly glue it back together, but… but you’ll love it. It’s so unique and beautiful. Resurrection… of sorts. Completed.

I can't tell you how many emotions this gave me. I love a good AU, and seeing a Space Opera/Sci-Fi AU was a special treat onto itself. The emotions, the mystery, the buildup, the worldbuilding, the characters--they all make for a wonderful story, one that's well worth a read.

writhing around on the floor in agony oh my godddddd oh my goddd this one is so good. slowburn space opera with vash as an exoplanet. top-tier imagery, emotion, characterization, world-building, pacing… flawless. don’t think a fic has ever made me cry before but this one really got me. genuinely beautiful literature like i’d buy this as a physical novel if i could. i can’t really read fics longer than like 35k words due to the adhd but this one was just so fucking good i powered through it. HIGHLY recommended!!!

a sequel to figure me out, but this time it’s wolfwood-flavored. brilliant character study, deals with some very heavy themes in ways i haven’t seen before in trigun fics. vash and wolfwood's dynamic is excellent in this series—they can be silly, they can be mean, they can be sweet... just great characterization!!

about as emotional as you can possibly get giving a blowjob on a rank public bathroom floor. seriously this fic has no reason being as sweet as it is, you can really tell how much vash just absolutely adores wolfwood even if they're not in the most romantic setting!

one of the first trigun fics i ever read! funny as HELL with a good balance of fluff and angst. i generally don’t read modern aus but i love how this one blends the humor of a lighthearted modern world with the heartbreaking tragedy of trimax. really fun!!

prime example of how pwp smut fics can also be extraordinarily competent character studies. specifically tri98-focused before vash and wolfwood became close friends, so it's really interesting to see how they interact with each other in a way that isn't like, typical push-and-pull vashwood shenanigans. also have to mention that this one includes my favorite trigun symbolism ever, vash's glasses! won't say how, you'll have to read it yourself 😈
