its great to see that Sunraku's cheese strats are still plentiful. and how accurate this anime continues to be about how video games are.
his exploit for farming crystal scorpions by quickly teleporting in and out and making them kill themselves gets patched out? easy, just figure out a way to make them fall off a cliff instead, using a double-jump ability to negate the fall damage for himself.
god i fucking love this show

maybe I'm wrong, but the issue with newer AAA games breaking the 60€ mark isn't the price itself, but that in the majority of cases it doesn't translate into raises for the actual devs, but rather for the company execs and their ilk

i think a certain subset of players should be realistic and know that exploiting certain mechanics that will make things unfair, uninteractive, and unfun for others won't be looked kindly upon whoever is moderating the game
(unless the entire point of the game is to be like that against other players, but even then there are limits)

Actually . kinda fucked they split armor and weapon skills into two different decorations. if you’re lucky you get three (3) deco slots on a weapon and that’s it. that’s fucking it. oh you want full crit eye? but you only have two slots and your armor doesn’t have it? fuck you i guess

I allowed myself one impulsive act in Honor Mode and it worked out so well I can't stop laughing at the resulting mental image.
Picture this: Gortash returns to his office after the cornation going "Well it's only a matter of time until that paladin sees reason and accepts my deal. Now to- okay, what the fuck happened to my guards. What the fuck happened to my Steel Watchers. WHERE THE FUCK IS ALL OF MY STUFF"
And we've probably drawn a big middle finger on the floor or something too.

Extremely excited to report that baubles are useable inside instances. Hopefully the devs don't nuke this like they did with festival skills, I want to RP beating a boss and then pitching a tent and having a nap because the fight was so grueling. And also dump random crap around the boss fight arena before the fight, what about it?

the “criticism” that larian should never have added good minthara recruitment and that that was just “pandering” to fans is so unbelievably ridiculous. what else were they supposed to do about the sheepthara exploit?? attempt to patch it out and likely fuck up plenty of people’s game files? the solution they offered literally just acknowledges the exploit without dramatically changing anything, other than the player’s ability to have both minthara and halsin in their camp. if you want to kill minthara, recruit halsin, and play an authentic good run, then do so. if you want to abandon halsin, attack the grove, and authentically recruit minthara, then do so. the sheepthara method being simplified and added into the game has absolutely zero bearing on anyone’s ability to play the game normally. some people are just making a problem out of nothing. perhaps go complain about something actually worthwhile, like the lack of content for wyll and karlach.

Isekai Prompt 12
A gamer is brought to another world with classic game mechanics, and soon finds an exploit in the system that the natives of the world somehow missed.
Just as they're about to take advantage of their incredible power, however, the system changes to no longer allow them to do that exploit. They manages to find another, but the system changes again.
The pantheon of the world had begun keeping a close eye on this gamer ever since his first exploit and had been patching the world every time a method to get a leg up on everyone else is found.
Unfortunately for the pantheon, the other natives of the world are starting to notice, and some people are not only learning to spot for exploit opportunities themselves, some are even predicting future patches and preparing to take advantage of the new system before it's even put in place.

Smart brain : Your character arc for your TTRPG character is following exactly what you planned and you're not rushing it nor dragging it, stop worrying, you knew his relationship to a lot of people in this campaign and the one you made him to ship him with would just be toxic as hell and self-destructive at this point. Accept that there is still work to do for yourself, especially when one of your pet peeves in-JDR is rushed relationships with very little scenes.
Dumb lizard overthinker brain : But what if ???? Iredeemable ???

The latest episode of the Future Proof Podcast it out! It's been a hot minute since we released one, and it feels good to be back. We open with some sales tax fun that affects the way we sell Exploit: Zero Day, but the bulk of the ep is our favorite games of 2024. We played some good shit last year. 🤓

I remember when Knights of the Old Republic came out, and it was on 4 (four??) CD-ROM discs. Biggest game I'd ever played at the time, it blew my tiny teenage mind.
Four CD-ROMs is a max of about 3.5GB.
Nowadays I have to download updates bigger than that entire game every time I want to play something I haven't touched for a week and a half.

Cool how optimization in AAA games is basically dead
