Looking at what precognition is

According to parapsychology, precognition is thought to be an “extrasensory perception - ESP” also known as second sight or future sight - “a premonition.”

It is said to be the psychic ability of knowing what will occur in advance of it happening in real time.

What is ESP?

Typically, ESP is a phenomenon, knowledge that goes against the recognized ideologies of science. One of the theories on precognition refers to research into quantum physics and cosmology, this tells us how the mind interacts with the Universe, it is this research which indicates the “idea” that there is more than one Universe and that because of this we are constantly interacting with many of these so-called undetected or veiled Universes!

However, there are times when what would look like precognition can be misleading – for example sometimes we may fear something or be expecting something to happen, and then it does happen, this is not precognition this is our subconscious mind at work; like for example a lady dreaming she is pregnant only to find out a few weeks later that she is! These are dreams led by our innermost hopes and fears or desires, this is not precognition this is our subconscious mind at work. A truly precognitive dream is one which shows insight into an unpredictable event or situation, for example an accident or unexpected death.

So according to parapsychology, precognition “extrasensory perception – ESP” also known as second sight or future sight – “a premonition” But is this right? What is the difference between precognition and premonition?

LOOKING AT WHAT PRECOGNITION IS AND HOW IT IS DIFFERENT TO PREMONITION?

Premonition is a waking vision being able to see a future event or a flash into the future. These are gut feelings something is about to happen. So, a premonition is more about having a sense or a feeling of things to come.

Precognition is the ability to see a future event whilst sleeping. So, in general the feelings and senses associated with premonitions are also experienced with precognition, the one significant difference is premonition happens in our waking hours whereas precognition happens in our sleeping hours.

Studies into to precognition have associated this ability with the part of the brain which controls feelings, it is thought that those with precognitive abilities are generally those with inventive minds as well as those who meditate or do yoga. The assumption being that this group of people are more likely to be able to disconnect themselves from the ordinary goings on in the world and can better concentrate themselves on situations/circumstances that engage them.

Studies into precognition have also associated this ability with emotional involvement, in somebody or something which leads to imagining future occurrences about the person or event, which come true, sometimes this explained as a psychic experience, unforeseen reasons and at times sheer coincidence.

Precognitive knowledge can also be gained through trance like states, channelling, divination, and mediumship. Typically, a precognitive episode will happen within 48 hours of the forthcoming situation/event, however in some more rare cases the precognitive episode will happen maybe months before the event or situation occurs.

References to precognition date back to ancient times when prophets and oracles were asked for the guidance in forthcoming events. However typically free will can alter any future and free will is there to be had in all of us, for example we have all probably heard how an incident was averted, someone was saved from disaster by changing their previously formed plans based on precognitive information.

Ok so I’ve tried googling this and I haven’t gotten an answer cuz I have no idea how to word it but maybe tumblr has some answers???

So basically, pretty frequently, I’d be watching something, and I’d have a thought, and then whatever I’m watching will say something really similar at the exact same time. Or like I’d be thinking about something and I’d suddenly read the exact same word I thought at the exact same time. The first time I remember it happening was in middle school, when I was thinking about something when all of a sudden a boy across the room said something really similar, and my attention snapped to it the way it would if someone across the room said your name.

It used to happen pretty rarely, maybe once a month, but now it’s happening multiple times a day. It kinda feels like a psychic thing but idk???? I just wanna know if anyone else has experienced something similar or if there’s a name for this phenomenon?????? If you know anything please comment (this is a side blog so I can’t answer back tho, dm me if you want???) I’m more curious than anything else. Thanks!

This plant is native to high desert ecosystems and grows commonly in California.

If you rub fresh leaves of the White Sage between your thumb and forefinger, a refreshing, cleaning scent is released.  

The goal of smudging with Sacred Sage is to release a being or an area of any residual energies that are different than what you presently intend for your space.

You can ask the Sage to assist you in cleansing unknown energies from a stone, or an object that you received as a gift.

Sage can also amplify any other clearing and protective techniques that you are already using for your space or your being.

Defined As: “the production of a sense impression relating to one sense or part of the body by stimulation of another sense or part of the body.” 🔨 🔨 🔨 I often say #ISeeWithMyHands. Little did I know when I first said it, just how true that is. 🔨 It's amazing what we can learn on this journey when we go deeper/beyond mainstream topics as it relates to this journey -- piecing things together. 🔨 If you're familiar with #ASMR and #EFT this might make sense: Most of us are so used to touching things that have been sanded, buffed and polished to perfection. Things in their natural state (or close to it) often make us feel uncomfortable and then our brains translate that as imperfect or wrong -- Much like the ways we a westerners deal with people who have certain “mental illnesses.” However, if we’re able to get past those initial feelings, we will often find that working with the unknown can be liberating to the extent of being therapeutic. 🔨 It takes us back to a state/place before industrialization, etc. -- a place many are doing emotional work to remember -- who we were, before… 🔨 Working with my hands is kinda like that.
