oughhh ..... waking up in the middle of the night or just a little too early and your f/o groggily tugging you back into place with some little half-coherent words of encouragement. call them selfish, but they'll take the label with no complaint if it means they get to have you lie down at their side just a while longer. the tired little motions they go through to try and make sure that you're able to fall back asleep before they let themself do the same, whether that be tracing shapes along your skin in gentle little gestures or even humming, they're putting the effort in even though sleep might be clinging onto them like a 2 ton weight.

big fan of f/o(s) kissing you anywhere but your lips. like them grabbing your hands, brushing their lips over your knuckles or lovingly pressing kissies onto your palm or wrist. kisses pressed to a wound or a bruise no matter how big or small. soft kisses on the forehead and on the top of your head. trailing kisses on your collarbone up to your neck and to your jawline when the both of you feel so comfortable to be close like this. maybe in the middle of it f/o either whispers near your ear flirtingly or a mumble slips out: “do you like this?” / “what have you done to me?”

Having thoughts about being unable to sleep near your f/o. Tossing and turning, sitting up, checking your phone, endless thoughts, distractions - you name it, it's keeping you up.

Until the next thing to catch your attention is the shifting of covers, mattress dipping with movement as they loop an arm around your waist, eyes looking up at you bleary with sleep. Though, at this point, you know them well enough to catch the hint of concern in that gaze.

You turn to face your beloved and whisper an apology for waking them, but before you can get the word 'sorry' out of your mouth, they pull you closer and assure you the only thing on their mind is whether you're alright. Their hands rub soothing circles into your back as they ask what's keeping you up.

Even if it's something as vague as "I just can't sleep," they listen. Resting your head on their chest, you can feel their hum of acknowledgment as you talk. Hands roam from your back into your hair, absentmindedly massaging your scalp as your partner listens to you.

Between the rise and fall of their chest and the repetitive motions of their hands, you find yourself finally calming down. Your breath slows, your limbs getting heavier with sleep.

As you curl around your partner, the last thing you can make out is that same pair of eyes now watching sleepily, all concerns replaced with a fondness only for you.
