yesterday i was at a concert and someone puked on my winter parka in the middle of the show. didn't even tell me or anything, just let me find out by putting my hand directly in the puddle that collected in my hood while i was leaving the venue.
now for the fun part of the story: the concert was my city's symphony orchestra. in the middle of the elgar cello concerto someone was wasted enough to puke a hot dog onto the row in front of them.

Series Description:
Yugi was born a girl, inspired by the fact that I found out that Atem is in  fact commonly used as a girl's name. Yes I am aware of the fact that  mythology states that there was an Atem who was the father of Bast, but  once my brain had started ticking, well… here you go. There will be 9 main stories in this series but I make no promises how many side stories and one shots will pop up by the time the series ends. This lines up with the 9 Gods and Goddesses of the Egyptian Ennead and is the reason for the series name.
Story Links:
Kemet -  Before the downfall, before Egypt went to hell, there was a Thief who wormed her way into the palace...  (Complete, One Shot)
Dishonour - Finally, after years of waiting... they've got him. (Complete, One Shot)
Jb - After the events of earlier, the Pharaoh and her Shadow need a moment alone. (Complete, One Shot)
Mahad’s Tale - The moment everything went wrong in Ancient Egypt as told by Mahad in chapter 3 of Kismet. (A comic of Mahad's side of the story by https://twitter.com/fullmoondraws. 1 page up so far.)
Season Zero -  After working on the Puzzle that her Grandfather gave her for eight years, Yugi finally managed to complete it. What she couldn't know was how much trouble one little trinket could cause… (Complete, 27 chapters)
In Sickness -  Jou has been ill and now Yugi has come down with the same sickness. Can  the spirit of the Puzzle, Oneesan work out what's wrong with her   Imoto-chan before the sickness takes it's toll?  (Complete, 1 shot)
For Those We Love -  A sudden attack out of nowhere leaves Yugi with no choice but to travel  to an island in the middle of nowhere and compete to save her Ojiisan's  soul. Can she defeat Pegasus, save everyone and somehow, finally, work  out how to interact with Oneesan, all without getting herself killed? (Complete, 27 chapters)
Refrain - Duelist Kingdom was hard on the Kaibas and Seto can't sleep.(Complete, 1 shot)
Kin -  After surviving Duelist Kingdom, Yugi is looking forward to getting back  to normality. Well, what passes for normal when you're the one who  completed the Millennium Puzzle, one of your friends is the host for the  spirit whose rampage ended your elder twin's reign back in Egypt and  old adversaries of your grandfather have moved into town.   (Complete, 15 chapters)
Kismet -  After a close call in a raging inferno, Yugi is left with more questions  than answers.  One thing is certain: as she is, she cannot win the  oncoming fight and with the future of the world at stake, she needs to  know more. Thankfully, looking to the future can sometimes give you  answers to the past... (Completed, 19 chapters)
Unwind -  A little relaxation is good for the soul.  (Set between chapters 5 & 6 of Kismet. Complete, 1 shot.)
Semestral - A collection of drabbles and one shots set in the time skip between Kismet and Battle of the Gods (Complete. 44 chapters)
Fantasia - A game to be tested, a set of rules changed and an unfair plot interrupted lead a set of adventurers into trouble. (Being written, will update VERY slowly because this arc hates me, 2 chapters so far)
Battle of the Gods - Battle City has arrived. Yugi and her twin sister, the Spirit of the Puzzle, need to compete to earn the keys to unlock the Pharaoh's missing memories and powers, but there is danger on the horizon. Will they reach their goal or will the sun set on them, and the world? (Posting, 44 chapters so far...)
Side B - The King A dip in the ocean at the end of the worst day of Yugi's life, leads to a trip from which there may be no return... (One shot, Complete)
Side B - The Pawn The cost of self sacrifice burns deep, and Amane, having risked her life and soul to protect a friend, finds herself making a journey that could end badly... (One shot, Complete)
Side B - The Knight Jonouchi Katsuya knew it was a bad move the moment he made it, but coming back from it could be more challenging than he knew… (One shot, Complete)

Can we get some more Silmalexia please? You got me hooked on their dynamic
.
More often than not, these days, he occupies the space between waking and sleep: a stinking, humid miasma beneath unwashed covers, where he can't tell if the stench of death comes from his memories or his own skin. It's not dark, here beneath the blanket. He's unable to tell whether his eyes or open or shut, in this state, for he's always seeing something, no longer does his vision ever go dark. The destruction of Ald Sotha has been seared into his retinas like a brand-- the redness of the vessels in his eyelids only match the redness of the flames, like the redness of his blood must match the redness of his kin's blood on the ground.
He occupies the space between waking and sleep and he's therefore not sure whether it's a fantasy when he feels a hand laid across his cheek. Captivated by the vision of a crumbling building he waits, feeling only vaguely the finger that traces a still-healing cut towards the cusp of his jaw. But it does not seem to be a phantasm that settles on the mattress beside him, and a part of him, an impossibly resilient part, knows exactly whose hand it is that comes to rest on his shoulder.
"Sil," she whispers. "Are you awake?"
He doesn't answer; her voice is like the crackling of flames in his dream.
"Sil," she whispers again, "Where are your legs?"
The vision plays on-- he sees a beam of a house cracking, and he opens his mouth to warn his sister, and he screams when it falls across--
It is no dream when a hand slides beneath his shoulders. Almalexia was not at that tragedy, and yet here she is, and it is no dream when she tucks the blanket around his crumpled form. The vision cedes to something more interesting: the strange sensation of her arms, shockingly real and perfectly strong, scooping him up like a child, one supporting his shoulders, the other resting under the place his thighs meet his rump. The putrid blanket swaddles him like a cocoon, dangling tail-like from the remnants of his legs. He is in the air, then, the dusk-coloured Almalexia-scented air, and he feels her biceps tremble with the weight of him.
He tries to say her name-- his throat is as dead and dry as the ashes of his home. She's moving now, and he tries again. "Ayem," he rasps.
"It's okay," she whispers in return. His face is against her breast and he feels her chest rumble as she speaks. "I'm going to take you outside for a little bit."
"But--"
"Hush. It's late at night, no-one will see you."
"-- My legs."
"I couldn't find them. I'm sorry." She bends her head as she speaks, kisses his naked scalp. "I'll carry you."
And Sotha Sil lets her.
His body aches too much, he lets himself return to that half-waking realm of fantasia where his eyes are closed and he sees the past with all its vivid detail. Did Vivec carry him like this from his burning world? In the fantasy it seems likely, though in reality he remembers Vivec pulling on his arm so hard the shoulder might've given out, Vivec yelling above the roar of Daedric inferno. He had fought with all his strength to go back. He had been desperate to throw himself atop the flames. He was dragged away on his own artificial feet, Vivec slinging his arm painfully around hir neck-- he had turned his head back to look over his shoulder and he has been seeing the destruction ever since. Even the air had been aflame, aflame with sparks…
When he opens his eyes again he still sees sparks: tiny, white, molten sparks, hanging strangely static in the destruction's column-cloud. It takes several moments for him to realize that he is looking at a night sky filled with stars.
One of Almalexia's arms is beneath his head, the other resting over his stomach; the unwashed blanket reeks more strongly of him than ever in the pristine midnight air. A warm breeze is blowing, accentuating the chill of the curving tiles below him-- they are lying on a roof, Sotha Sil realizes only belatedly, they are sprawled out on a roof the way they used to lie as children on the beach, tangled up in a body-scented blanket. They are lying, in fact, atop the Palace of Mournhold, like a king and queen of the world.
He feels Almalexia shift slightly. He doesn't think she is wearing warm enough clothing, for this excursion; she's already shivering a little, she's always been sensitive to the cold. "Fresh air," she whispers to Sotha Sil, by way of explanation. "It will do you well to be outside for a while."
He wants to tell her how ridiculous it sounds-- it's insulting, even, to think that the mere sight of a starry sky will soothe the terrible wounds he's been dealt. How many stars are worth a Sotha? How many Sothas were lost on that dreadful day? Fortunately for her, his throat is too dry to form words. He only lifts his hand and gropes around for her, finding a lock of hair to clutch.
So they lie there. They lie there like children lying on a beach, reverently silent, barely touching. He smells mostly his stinking blanket and then the faint smell of her, which has always seemed so pleasantly indistinguishable from his own.
"Sehti," she whispers eventually, as if meaning to start conversation. He doesn't reply; she doesn't persist. Silence falls once again, but what's remarkable is that, all this time, he's kept his eyes open-- he doesn't see the flames any more, only the countless blazing stars. On nights as dark as this the sky seems to have been sprayed with molten silver. There's a beauty to it he'd forgotten until now.
They stare at the sky in silence for a while and then Almalexia speaks:
"I remember a story, about a boy who lay on a patch of moss and gazed up at the stars. Driven by his love of maths, he resolved to count every star, and give each one a name. He lay there for hours, counting and naming, until he accidentally drifted off to sleep…"
He feels her hand enclose his own, then. "What did you name that one? There, do you see? The large and shining one beneath the warrior."
"Brauri," Sotha Sil says slowly. "That one is Brauri."
"Brauri," Almalexia repeats. "What about the one next to it?"
"Hgrofl."
"Hg-- huh. Do you need water?"
"Hgrofl--" He coughs and it's almost a laugh. "I invented a Nordic name."
"Is that a Nordic star, then?"
"You always talked about the Nords."
She moves closer to him, presses her face to his shoulder. "I never met a Hgrofl," she complains to his neck. "Only a Hrofl, and a Hrogr."
"How many stars did you speak to?"
"Not enough. You're talkative, tonight. That's good."
It silences him; guilty, she doesn't press. They only lay together on a chilly Mournhold roof, watching a million pin-pricks of platinum light twinkle against an indigo canopy. For a while he tries to imagine he can hear the crashing of waves, so that he can pretend they're children again, sleeping on the beach-- alas, there's only the murmur of the city beyond, the wind skipping off the rooftop stones, and Almalexia's heartbeat in the vein of her bicep, which lies beneath his head.
"… The boy on the moss woke when the morning came." Almalexia speaks with formal finality, quiet and resigned to their fate. "And to his horror, he realized all the stars had vanished. He buried his face in his hands and began to weep, for he had learned a harsh lesson."
His eyes are half-lidded and the stars above them are blurring into a vibrant streak of perfect platinum. "What lesson?" he mumbles, distracted by the vivid light above.
Almalexia doesn't answer him. Almalexia only rolls to her side and pulls him into a tight embrace. When she kisses him on the cheek it leaves a warm mark, and the sharp scent of her breath, lively, so contrasting with the dead smell of his own skin.
"Please don't die," she whispers then. "Please don't die before you've told me how many stars their are, and their names."

Secretkeeper
@felixmonth
Felix Week Day 1 (Fantasia Version) | Secrets
AO3 | Masterlist
“Ouch!”
The girl cursed at the moss-covered log she tripped on. There had been too many of it in the forest, accented by the occasional roots. It didn’t help that the place was fresh from the onslaught of rain, turning the soil loose and the tree bark slippery. After wiping her dirtied palms on her cloak, she pulled her hood down to the bottom of her forehead and huffed.
“How long do I have to keep walking?” She grumbled under her breath. “Surely this is far enough.”
They said if you ventured deep enough into The Forest, you’d meet a man guarding a circular door and you could entrust him with a secret of your choice. Elders nearing their deaths or warriors bracing themselves for battle often went there to leave behind their secrets, so that they didn’t take the weight to their graves.
There were also other people who would leave their secrets on a whim: daring commoners, curious halflings, and even magicians. The Secretkeeper catered to them all the same, loyal to the confidentiality of anything and everything shared to him.
And so, after obtaining directions from the locals and her family, Marinette went on a journey to find the mysterious Secretkeeper. So far, The Forest had given her only twists and turns which she couldn’t navigate through with her magic.
“I didn’t pack enough shiitake chips for this,” she whispered.
Finally, she arrived at a narrow opening bordered by two fields of delphinia. With small steps, she hurried through it and saw her destination.
A towering redwood stood at the center with the door—a vault to be exact—attached to its base. The vault had three protruding circles of different sizes adorned with intricate carvings, much like the gears of clockwork. In front of the tree was a dilapidated wooden stall with a man clad in silk robes standing behind it. A winding stream traced the path towards the location.
“At last!” Marinette gasped out. She ran towards the Secretkeeper.
And slipped again.
“Oww,” she rubbed the side of her head.
“One of the fae?”
Her gaze wandered upwards to see the Secretkeeper examining her emotionlessly. He looked human for the most part, but somehow too . . . beautiful to be one. And she’d seen plenty of beauty among her kin.
It was then when she noticed that her hood had fallen to reveal her pointy ears.
She cleared her throat, standing up. “Yes, that’s me! I’m Marinette!”
He raised an eyebrow. “You may call me Félix. ‘Secretkeeper’ is a mouthful.”
“You told me your name!”
“I’m aware.” He blinked once, unfazed. “Faeries have no effect on me.”
“Oh.”
That confirmed that he wasn’t human.
“I take it you’re here to give a secret?”
“No.” She put on her most serious face. “I’m here to buy a secret from you.”
“Sorry?”
She released a long breath. “It’s of great importance. Someone left a secret here and I need to take a look.”
Félix didn’t waver. He set his hand down on the top of the stall, settling his upper weight on it. “Protecting secrets is my duty. If I divulge any to you, I’m certain that I’d be failing the job description.”
“I’ll pay any price.”
“What part of ‘Secretkeeper’ do you not understand—”
“What do you want? A golden crown? An ancient spellbook?”
“Also, I cannot entertain clients as of now—”
“Look.” Marinette lowered her voice and looked around as if an intruder was about to jump from the bushes at any moment. “I know you sell secrets in the black market in exchange for rare items, okay?”
He rubbed his face. “Did you ever consider that as a rumor?”
She froze. Certainly, the other faeries haven’t lied . . . Her expression contorted in realization. They deceived her yet again!
“As I was saying,” Félix continued, “Even if you did not come here for that kind of business, I cannot receive clients right now.”
“But you’re just standing here.”
“I’m not ‘just standing here’. I’m guarding the vault for today because a secret was stolen yesterday.”
Marinette tilted her head, waiting for a sign that he was jesting. Nothing came. “Stolen? You are here all the time, aren’t you? How can someone ‘steal’ a secret?”
Judging by the intricate lock on the vault, she knew that her head would ache trying to decipher it. It was most likely charmed with all kinds of security spells and whatnot, forms of magic that were foreign to her.
An exasperated sigh escaped him. “Follow me.”
The bottom of his robes swept along the forest floor as he turned on his heel to face the vault. Then, he began touching certain indents on it, pulling wooden levers, and twisting the round parts until the door creaked open.
The inside was nothing too impressive. No infinite space that led into another realm or structures that were made out of precious metal. It was a small room with shelves lined up against each wall except for the entrance. Glass bottles containing rolled-up parchments were nestled inside the shelves. When Marinette bent down to take a closer look, she saw that the shelves extended upwards to follow the height of the tree.
“No wonder a secret got stolen.” Marinette stepped inside after he went. “Look at you, welcoming a faerie into your vault.”
She swore she saw his eyes roll. “The door itself is difficult to unlock and the only person who can open it is me. There is also warding magic by the threshold.”
He picked up one of the bottles. “The bottles are not as breakable as you might think and the paper inside is not readable without permission. Even if you tried to snatch a secret right now, you will not succeed in knowing it.”
Marinette plucked a bottle to check its indestructibility. The glass was thick, and the parchment seemed blank. “No offense, but if someone managed to steal a secret, doesn’t that make you bad at your job?”
“Says the faerie who insisted that I do the opposite of my job.” He turned towards her. “I wasn’t around when the theft happened. I’m not mortal but I still need food and rest. I locked up before I left though.”
“So,” she drawled. “How did the secret get stolen?”
His jaw clenched. “It is hard to get in but not impossible. It would require a deadly power; a contract with a demon perhaps or a sacrifice offered to the gods.”
An idea sparked in her mind. A genius idea. “That’s it!” She clapped.
“What?”
Her feet bounced. “You’ll tell me the secret I need if I find the culprit for you!”
Félix merely stared.
“Don’t look at me like that!” Marinette frowned. “Consider it! You cannot leave this place because you have to guard the vault, but you need to investigate the thief. Grant me three days and I’ll catch them!”
“How overly ambitious of you.”
She puffed up her chest with pride. “I have tricks up my sleeve as with all the fae. You need to find the thief, don’t you?”
“And see to it that they are punished, yes.”
“It’s a good bargain then!’
“I’m afraid I still cannot tell you a secret entrusted to me.”
Marinette caught her bottom lip between her teeth. Her fists curled around the fabric of her cloak. She had to convince him. She needed to know that secret. “The truth is . . .” She swallowed. “There is a human who I’ve been in close contact with recently.”
“And?”
“And I found out that he dropped by this place to give a secret: the person he likes!”
Félix ran his fingers through his pale hair. “You are interested in him romantically and you want to know if it’s you.”
She nodded meekly.
“Fine.” He conceded. “I will take you up on your offer. I cannot guarantee that I can give you the secret but I will try to help you.”
---
Félix didn’t expect much from a single faerie but as promised, she came back after three days. Her figure was hunched over when she trudged next to the stream and her fingers were nervously playing with the sides of her dress. He crossed his arms as she approached.
“Did you find the thief?” He calmly asked.
“Yes . . .?”
“What did you find out?”
Her voice wobbled. “It was a human whose father left a secret here.”
“And?”
“He—he was convinced that his father was hiding something terrible, so he made a demon contract to break into the secret vault,” she said in one breath. “And—and he fo—found out: his father was the reason behind his sister’s death. He confronted his father and they had a scuffle.”
“What of the parchment?”
Her eyes widened. “I can’t find it anywhere.”
Félix nodded, barely reacting to the revelations. The fae were not to be taken as innocent, but somehow, this one was. He figured that she had seen the confrontation in person, and was now overwhelmed about the situation.
“Did you already know?” Marinette questioned in a small voice.
He pressed his fingertips on the surface of the vault. “The reason people keep ugly secrets is because they’ve committed ugly acts themselves. There are some who are ready to die or kill before allowing their secrets to come out. I knew which secret was taken, so it is not difficult to piece out what happened.”
“Ah . . .”
“Do you see now?” He looked at her carefully. “There are secrets that are never meant to come out. Truths that you have no right to know. You cannot carelessly ask me to divulge one to you.”
Her lip curled into a pout. “Did you agree to let me investigate just so you can teach me a lesson?”
“The investigation was needed to investigate the culprit. That is why the parchment disappeared—it ceased to be a ‘secret’ because it was revealed. The lesson is only an addition.”
“What will happen to the thief?”
“The contract itself will become his punishment.” He remembered the corrupt exchanges demons did with humans. “He must have paid a big price to obtain the power to enter the vault.”
Suddenly, she leaned over the stall to look into his eyes closely. Félix nearly stumbled backwards at the intrusion.
“I see now,” she sucked in a breath, seemingly reaching an epiphany. “You’re burdened with all these secrets and the revolting side of mortals, which is why you’re so stoic.”
“What are you talking about?” He scoffed. “This is just my personality.”
"Oh, really." She leaned back, chuckling nervously. "I still completed your request, by the way. You have to give me something in return."
Félix mulled over the price. What this young naïve faerie wanted was simple, and yet he was forbidden to give it to her. He also appreciated her persistence as not everyone would bargain with the Secretkeeper.
"The human you are in contact with," he started. "It's Prince Adrien, is it not?"
She gaped. "Y—yes. Why?"
"It's not you."
"Huh?"
"It's not you who he likes."
". . . Are you allowed to say that?" She visibly deflated at the fact that her interest didn't reciprocate.
"With my knowledge, I only said that it's not you, but I did not say who he likes. It does not count."
"But—but if you reveal a secret won't there be consequences for you?" A frown etched on her face.
"Yes, I will perish horribly but again, it does not count."
"So you do have a loophole!" Marinette's ears twitched. "You do run that black market for secrets!"
"Please do not mention that black market again. There is no such thing."
A gleam of suspicion shone in her eyes, clearly saying that she was unconvinced. Félix plucked a stray leaf from his shoulder. "You have your confirmation. Are we done here?"
"Not quite," Marinette hummed. "I want to share a secret of my own."
"What?"
"You heard me. You're open for business today, aren't you?"
"Fine." He grabbed a quill out of thin air and a tiny square of paper from the stall cup and gave it to her. She scribbled one sentence.
He read it: I am in love with Prince Adrien.
Félix lifted his eyes. "Really?"
"It is, by definition, a secret!" said she. "A fact about me that I haven't told anyone and I don't want others to know. Umm—you already know it, but you're the Secretkeeper anyway so . . . The point is—!"
She coughed. "The point is, I'll be damned if my sisters ever find out that I fell in love with a human, so I'm entrusting it to you."
"Very well." His purpose was not to judge intentions and actions, but to keep secrets, and that was what he would do. He tied up the paper, knotted it with a ribbon and slipped it into a glass bottle to be stored away in the vault later.
Marinette watched the storing process with keen interest. "What happens to those secrets in the vault?"
"Nothing. Or so the public believes." Félix checked the bottle's cork again.
"What do you mean?"
"Usually, they give their secrets to take the guilt off their backs," he explained, "Especially before death. What most don't know is that these secrets are used to judge their soul when they arrive in the afterlife."
"Judge their soul?" Marinette squeaked.
"I'm not familiar with the details, but that is how it goes." He slipped the bottle under the stall. "That is why you better watch which secrets you offer."
---
She came back.
The familiar pair of pigtails bobbed up and down along with strands of dark hair. Marinette gave him a wide grin as she halted in front of the stall.
"What are you doing here?" Asked Félix.
"To give a secret of course." Her tone carried faux innocence.
She slid over piece of paper towards him.
"You wrote it already?"
"Yup!"
Félix unfurled the paper and read. I hoard shiitake chips at every chance I get.
He looked at the bright-eyed faerie. "Seriously?"
"What? It's a secret, isn't it?"
He muttered a complaint and stored it away in a new bottle.
---
"You're here again?"
People rarely came back. Perhaps only two visits at most. He thought about sealing the entrance specifically for her.
"Oh, you know, another secret." She gave the paper.
I accidentally trapped a human in a faerie ring once and I didn't know how to undo it.
Félix raised an eyebrow. "What happened to the human?"
She flushed. "I had one of my sisters help get him out. He looked very confused afterwards."
---
It was no surprise that she visited again. What was worse was that The Forest had taken a liking to her. The stream flowed faster when she was around, and the tree branches gravitated towards her presence. He even saw a few charmed mushrooms near the vault that he hadn't seen before.
"Make sure to keep it safe," Marinette reminded. "I wrote it just before I went through the entrance."
He took the paper. I tripped 6 times on roots and 2 times on logs on the way here.
Félix sighed exasperatedly. "Your secret's safe with me."

Hey, I’m not dead! Sorry I haven’t done much for a few days. I realize like a week isn’t that long technically, but I haven’t actually written stuff for awhile. And what better to make a comeback than by talking about the April Fools ‘event’ on the JP server. I’m going to react and write out my thoughts on each of the songs that came out and maybe talk about the groups. I haven’t seen all of the info about what exactly this event is, but I’ll still make some speculations about it. (I watched Jaycy’s translation and I just realized, omg we’re in an AU where what if the OG groups never got together and that’s why we have these groups. Omg) Let’s gooo.
Also disclaimer, I know that these songs are suppose to be more light-hearted like ‘oh haha what if these people sang this song’, but I’ll still comment on quality. I feel like if you’re going to do something like this, might as well go all in.  (Looking back, I realize I use the word soft a lot. To explain a little more, I guess either too quiet or too low energy or both). Edit: Jaycy released another translation for area convos so I’ll add more as time goes along. So stuff in parentheses are stuff I added after I posted this long mess of a review. RIP me.)
1st group- FANTASISTA SQUAD. Ifuudoudou.
Right off the bat, I’m a little disappointed they went w/ this song. Just bc I think that it would’ve been more fun to do something like Dr. FunkBeat or King. Also, I know some people will disagree, but I feel a little disappointed they just stuck all the boys together. I think it also would have been more interesting to see more interactions between the guys and different girls since I feel like we already kind of have a feel for how these 4 would interact with each other. So yeah the song, I don’t like it that much. I mean I like the song in general, but this version doesn’t really do it for me. Disclaimer, I don’t know much about music or how it’s made, so sorry if I get stuff wrong. So, this cover is kind of too ‘soft’ for me I guess. To me, all the guys sound kinda subdued and unenergetic like they’re not into it. I’ll admit that the Proseka version w/ AkiToya also isn’t my favorite, but I like it more than this 4-man version for some reason. No idea why. I think maybe bc the nqrse version of the song is the first version of it I’ve ever heard and that sort of influenced how I see it. Anyways, I’m totally biased with this one unfortunately so I’m sorry if I offended anyone on this group and song. So this is a skip for me. I know people will disagree with me on this since we all love the boys, but I guess I just don’t feel excited with this group and song.
I think the group dynamics are funny though. Tsukasa is screaming about wings and being a pegasus in the back alleys, Rui just saw Tsukasa and was like ‘oh yeah this’ll be fun’, Toya I guess is the one who convinced them all to be a group, and the only reason Akito is there is to make sure his partner Toya doesn’t get dragged in the other two’s antics. (Saw the area convo, it’s actually Tsukasa and Rui trying to recruit AkiToya and Toya being on board. It sounds like they’ve been doing shows as a duo, Tsukasa/Rui, and Toya wants to learn from them. Rui also seems to help direct and plan out the shows, though it’s still Rui lol. I guess Akito and Rui could kinda get along). So basically Akito would be the voice of reason for this group which is a little scary. Like with VBS, sure he has connections, helps with booking shows, and helps with on-stage outfits (that’s a lot actually), but I also think the others pitch in a lot to help make it feel balanced. So basically, I feel like with Fantasia Squad, Akito is gonna burst a vessel dealing with everyone LMAO. Rip Akito. I have no idea why Tsukasa wants to be in a street squad though.
2nd group- Kyujitsu, Shumijin Doushi de, Venom.
I like this version well enough. Thought the group was a little weird at first and I think I still do. Venom is one of my favorite covers from 25ji so I’m kinda glad they covered it here. I will admit though that Minori, Nene, and Honami are all sort of the softer parts of the song while Mizuki comes in with the strong vocals. I like Mizuki’s cover of the song, but I also think it sort of takes attention away from the other 3 bc of how powerful Mizuki’s voice is. Like I think the other 3 sang the song well, but when Mizuki comes in, it sort of overshadows the other 3, which is kind of a shame. These covers are sort of supposed to be a way to look at ‘what if these randomly picked people sang together’ and it is sort of felt more like Mizuki + Minori/Nene/Honami. I don’t blame Mizuki or the VA, I blame whoever chose the group and song. Other than that, I like how Nene is singing in this, Honami is doing a great job, and Minori is a little soft for me but I think she sounds cute with the song. Honestly, if they released solo covers I would like it more.
This is such an odd group as well since I think Minori and Nene have talked before during that one event in the JP server, but other than that these people have never interacted before really. It sounds like they just got together bc they liked the same stuff and talk about their hobbies. They sound more like an afterschool club or something, but since they’re based around 25ji, I guess they all met online. Nene mentioned they all like video games and musicals so maybe they bonded online through that? Mizuki seems to like video games and is mentioned to link Let’s plays to the other 25ji members. In Puchiseka, Minori is the one to play the horror game in a stream. I have no idea with Honami. She mentions they have off-parties at her home so I guess they interact mainly online. Still this group does have some sad context since this means that Minori gave up on her idol dream, Honami might not have made up with the rest of Leo/need, I’m not sure how close Nene is with Rui in this universe, and Mizuki doesn’t have interactions with Ena to help ‘save’ them/make them open up. Like Minori, Honami, and Nene would definitely help/support Mizuki, but I’m not sure how deep their friendship is or if they even notice that Mizuki has some deep dark secret. Nene is the only person who goes to the same school as Mizuki and she might know, but at the same time, Mizuki is probably still skipping so Nene might not connect that the rumors are about Mizuki. Honami may notice that something is up with Mizuki and maybe Nene. Minori would immediately try to help as soon as she realizes there’s a problem. But the thing is, we know Mizuki would just try to create distance as soon as they realize they might be getting to close to the others (like with Ena). So it’d be up to the other 3 to try to gap the distance if they want to help Mizuki. I think eventually they’d get through to Mizuki, but it’d still be difficult and may take more time than with 25ji’s story events. Still, seems like an interesting group.
3rd group- YUME YUME JUMP!, Happy Synthesizer
I let out a laugh when I saw this group. LMAO Kanade, An, and the Hinomori sisters. But first, the song. I like it. Not much more to say about it honestly. I think the vocals for each person is solid and it sounds nice. I will admit it’s kinda hard to hear Kanade’s singing at times when she’s singing with someone else (like An who has a strong voice), but I also am beginning to wonder if maybe it’s the mixing of the song. Maybe turn down the instrumentals too so it’s easier to hear the singing. It’s a nice song though and I’d listen to it a lot.
So the group. Like I mentioned above, I think it’s hilarious. But I also think it’s a little heart-warming too. From what some of the characters say, it sounds like Shiho is just trying out being an idol, Shizuku is just happy she’s in a group with Shiho, An is having fun being an idol, and Kanade is just dying from the physical activity (lol). Honestly, no idea how this group would have formed. Shizuku probably still left her former idol group, I guess Shiho is either taking a break from her dream of going pro as a bassist(?), An didn’t mention RAD WEEKEND, and I think Kanade mentions how idols are shining. So maybe Shizuku is the one who helped form the group (either as a result of leaving her group or deciding to just go independent from the start) and Shiho decided to help try it out (she did mention she’d take it seriously though). No idea how An ended up here since she doesn’t go to school with any of these people. I’m assuming Kanade’s sad backstory still happened though since she mentions shining. Maybe Kanade decided being an idol is the best way to save others with her music. She just didn’t think about all the exercise she’d have to get (I’m also assuming that she is still doing online school). I think this is a nice group though. Shiho and Shizuku get to interact more. An seems to be having fun and is amazed at how much idols can/have to do. Though I guess she’s either given up on surpassing RAD WEEKEND or has decided to surpass it through being an idol. And I think Kanade might actually have some positive influences in her life for once. I’m not dissing 25ji, but you have to admit that Kanade is probably in a better head space having caring people like Shiho, Shizuku, and An interact with her constantly. An is pretty observant and I think she’d see that something is up with Kanade and try to bond with her. Shiho is also caring in a subtle way and would try to help Kanade through quieter, understanding means. And Shizuku is doting and would probably help make sure Kanade is actually taking care of herself (eating, sleeping, exercise, etc). Plus yeah, Kanade is getting legit exercise for once. I’m not sure if Kanade would tell the others about her past and current struggles, but I think after awhile they’d notice and encourage her to open up with them. I also find it funny how this is a group with contrasting father figures.  An has the stable, good father figure. Kanade has the tragic father figure (he’s probably still in the hospital). Shiho’s father influenced her to go pro. And with Shizuku, well maybe because their parents weren’t around a lot, Shizuku felt the need to dote on Shiho so much since she was the one who was constantly supporting Shiho when they were kids. We don’t see Shiho and Shizuku’s dad in the story events and the mom seems to work a lot. So yeah, I like the group and I like the group.
4th group- Aoharu/Friends, Aoku Kakero
The school band of Ichika, Saki, Ena, and Airi. Did not see that coming. So the song. Never heard of it before. Not much I can really say about it too honestly. I think it sounds fine and is composed well. Not really my cup of tea but I don’t really have much thoughts on it. Maybe, I’d have like to hear Airi and Ena singing more since we don’t really get that combo anywhere else. I think Ichika sings less in this song, but I think that’s ok since I feel like she often gets the spotlight for Leo/need songs. Saki sounds great too. It’s alright with me. I might not listen to it, but not because I think it’s bad, just that I’m not really into this type of music.
So the group. I guess Ichika and Saki’s stories start up similarly to the OG timeline, but here they don’t make up with Shiho and Honami I guess? Maybe they do eventually, but in the end, they’re not a band together. So I guess Saki recruited Airi and Ena to help fill the roles. But also, do Airi and Ena even know how to play instruments? I could see them learning to help out, but I also wonder about who plays what and how well they are at it. They seem to playing into the youth angle with this group for some reason. But yeah, Ichika and Saki don’t seem that different from their OG selves. Airi sounds really pumped to be in a band with Ena and Ena mentions how dazzling Ichika and Saki are. So first thing I noticed, maybe Airi never became an idol in this timeline. I zoomed in on the whole ‘band with Ena’ statement so I wonder if maybe because Airi never became an idol, she would have ended up closer to Ena and that’s how she managed to convince Ena to join a band. I also think Ena may still have her talent insecurities since she mentions how dazzling Ichika and Saki are. So maybe she is jealous of how talented Saki is with the keyboard/how social Saki is and jealous of Ichika’s singing and guitar playing/songwriting. They all keep mentioning youth but I’m not sure what to make of that. So yeah, I think Airi would notice Ena’s insecurities and try to help her with it. Ichika and Saki would also support Ena and her drawing too I think. They’d all be positive reinforcement and try to encourage her constantly. Ena would probably be pretty open about her problems honestly, especially compared to the rest of 25ji. So they’d be a cute group I guess. Not much more I can say.
5th group- Happiness Sentai Sunny Sunny, Positive☆Dance Time
Oh god why is the title and group name so long. So this one terrifies me a little. Mafuyu’s ‘Ikuyo’ at the start made me do a double take. But uh yeah. It’s a fun song, all the vocals sound on point, and I don’t have much to say. I can easily see all of them singing this EXCEPT MAFUYU. She sounds so happy here. Song segment, not much to say. Fun song, I’d listen to it if I see it in my recommendations.
THE GROUP. THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO GET TO. So I guess Emu made this group and is focused on trying to get Mafuyu (and visitors) to smile for real. I guess in this universe, Emu’s Flight or Fight instinct chose Fight over Flight. So Emu gets Kanade’s savior role, except Emu doesn’t have crippling depression. Ok jokes aside, while I do think it’s cute Emu wants to help Mafuyu, I’m not sure if Emu is gonna be a much better substitute than Kanade. For one, I think Mafuyu’s good girl persona is firmly planted on in this AU. Haruka and Kohane don’t seem to mention it so they might not even know. Haruka is called Stoic Challenger Haruka and feels like she has to live up to that (don’t really know what that nickname means). Maybe Haruka has to struggle with putting up a facade on stage, which may push some buttons for Mafuyu or cause Haruka to relate to Mafuyu more. But also, I guess Haruka either gave up being an idol and got over her trauma, or she never became an idol since she doesn’t seem to mention it. She has to be one stage for performances, so I guess she’s either over her past or it never happened. And Kohane makes sense for this group since she’s a Phoenix Wonderland super fan. It’s kinda easy to see how Emu would rope Haruka and Kohane in since she knows both of them. BUT MAFUYU. I have no idea how Emu convinced Mafuyu to join the troupe and how Mafuyu explains to her mom what she’s doing afterschool. I guess maybe Mafuyu has a closer friendship with Emu. Mafuyu mentions how Emu calls her the ‘impregnable, shiny senpai’ and while Mafuyu says she’s not sure if that’s good or bad, she does think that Emu is amazing. (not sure if that amazing is good or bad too either lol). So maybe she goes along with it bc why not. If Emu thinks she can make Mafuyu smile, might as well see if she can succeed right? I think eventually Emu lets it slip that she’s trying to get Mafuyu to smile for real to Haruka and Kohane and they decide to help her at some point. Though I’m not sure if they try to confront Mafuyu about it. I think that at some point, Mafuyu eventually relents and everyone doubles down on trying to help. Still, it’s gotta be unnerving for everyone to see Mafuyu’s blank expression vs the smiling, upbeat mask she probably has to wear for the stage. But that’s probably what makes Mafuyu so good on stage. I gotta say it, but with how caring and positive these 3 are, this might help Mafuyu. She has people in her life trying to help her and aren’t being antagonized by their own demons as well. Mafuyu might put up some resistance since I’m not sure if they’d understand what she’s going through, but that doesn’t negate that they want to help her. The closest to problems I could see for them outside of Mafuyu, Emu still has to worry about the Wonderstage closing and Kohane might have to struggle with her self-confidence since Haruka and Mafuyu are probably super talented on stage and Emu has the experience, while she’d be the rookie. Interesting group, kinda scares me bc of Mafuyu, but I think it’d be fun to see their story.
So those were my thoughts on the groups and their songs. I think I like them all overall and they provide an interesting look at an AU. I 100% understand why people might disagree with me, but these were just my opinions and not to be taken seriously. Wow I wrote a lot, but it’s been like a week so might as well come back with a bang. Let me know your thoughts! Thanks for reading.

what are your thoughts on toons that look politically incorrect? like bosko the talk-ink kid or sunflower the centaurette from fantasia. how do you think they would function in toon society, looking the way they do? thanks!
My personal thoughts on them? I don't mind them. My feelings range from neutral to I kind of like them? In a weird sense. I mean, as ridiculously racist as they were, I enjoyed some of them. And I don't feel as uncomfortable with them as Americans might be. I like Bosko despite his design controversy (to be honest, I didn't even know he was supposed to be black) and while I didn't watch Fantasia, I HAVE watched Song of the South, which if it was set in a completely different time period, is an enjoyable movie.
As for their role in toon society? Well since politically incorrect toons have an atom-sized chance of getting forcefully pulled back into show-business, I imagine they take on the more essential jobs needed to keep ToonTown running when a good majority of its population is off to the studios to provide entertainment for the world.
So jobs like farmers, teachers, police, firefighters, nurses and doctors, etc. are the types of jobs they keep.... if ToonTown was run by toons.
If ToonTown for some crooked reason was run by humans (the studios) even in the modern age, then they'd likely be shoved somewhere out of sight from tourists. They'd still be working some of the essential jobs, but not the ones where tourists could easily spot them. The Studios (who'd probably be getting a remarkable portion of the city's taxes and probably embezzling some city funds into the studios too without the toons knowing because if there's one thing I'm disturbingly familiar with, its corrupt governments) would want tourists to have a clean, stainless perception of ToonTown, so they could keep coming back with their money that the studios can take. But in order for that perception to stick, those political incorrect toons would have to go.
So they get pushed further and further away until they stay in squatters, on the very outskirts of ToonTown, far from the city centre, far from the heart of town, out of sight, out of mind (for the humans). Most would be jobless because that's how far the Studios would've pushed them away despite the "Studio-approved" toons fighting to get them back. And if you were a toon that wasn't related or in close contact with Big-Shot toons like the LTs and Mickey and his kin that would take care of you, you were basically screwed.
And this is something that angers A LOT of toons.
For a lot of toons, designs didn't matter, your heart did. A toon was a toon despite how they looked. It didn't matter if you were hand-drawn, clay/sand sculpted or programmed on a computer, if you were from America, Russia, China or North Korea, made for movies, television or gaming, in the eyes of other toons: you were a toon. So you were treated with the same amount of respect as any other PC toon. Older toons were especially more empathetic, considering they were from that era of the industry and knew what it was like.
There is a, mutual yet unspoken respect and admiration between the PC toons and the PI toons has never taken a fall and it will never the toons can collectively help it. And if the Studios tried to interfere with that, then the toons will riot. And you don't want the toons to riot.

‘Authority is not given to you, Steward of Gondor, to order the hour of your death,’ answered Gandalf. ‘And only the heathen kings, under the domination of the Dark Power, did thus, slaying themselves in pride and despair, murdering their kin to ease their own death.’
The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King by J. R. R. Tolkien.
"Não lhe é dada a autoridade, Regente de Gondor, para ordenar a hora de sua morte", respondeu Gandalf. "E apenas os reis pagãos, sobre o domínio do Poder das Trevas, fizeram isso, matando-se a si mesmos em orgulho e desespero, assassinando seu povo para facilitar sua própria morte."
(Tradução livre: O Senhor dos Anéis - O Retorno do Rei de J. R. R. Tolkien)
Arte de Alan Lee, "Denethor, Son of Ecthelion".
Tive contratempos no meio para o fim do ano e encerrei a leitura de TLOR - The Return of the King (O Retorno do Rei) no início desse ano.
