I know you don't like shipping questions, which I think this ask counts as, but I hope that you'll make an exception
Arin and Danny from Game Grumps are both married to other women, so they are alloromantic without any doubt. However, there have been more than a couple times where they talked deeply about how much their friendship means to each other
How would you say this compares to queer platonic relationships? (Or at least, your own qpr)
Aaaahhhhh... Honestly, the hard line I draw on that kind of stuff is that people are whatever THEY describe themselves to be. I don't think anyone else has a say on defining anyone's relationship with anyone else (or their orientation, or their identity, or anything of the sort, within reason), much less myself. So it feels unsafe to me to make a comparison. They are whatever they say they are as long as they're vibing.
(On that note, friendships can be the deepest freaking thing there is to some people and if someone wants to call a deep-rooted, deeply meaningful relationship a friendship, then hell yeah, friendships rock. They don't need to be anything other than friendships to be the best thing ever tbh.)

Amatonormativity has destroyed so many people's understanding and acceptance of themselves, and it's heartbreaking.
Yes, it is normal to be in your 20s, 30s, or older and not have lost your virginity, had a first kiss, or a partner. It is normal to say that you aren't ready for those things, too! It is normal if your life doesn't follow the "college graduate -> engagement -> buying a home -> 2.5 kids and a dog" trajectory that so many people have idealized.
So many people associate maturity with losing your virginity, or having a first kiss, or a serious relationship, and I think that's a dangerous association. Maturity isn't gained through those things, and you don't have to have those experiences to be considered "mature" or "grown." It is not a bad thing to go at your pace. Nobody else can live your life but you. If you end up having those experiences, that's great! But it should be done because you want to experience them, not because you feel "broken" and "immature" without them.

i'm not going to say much about it, mostly on account that i do not consider myself a part of the gw2 community anymore, but you guys have a serious problem with poc speaking up for themselves and telling you when you've done something wrong and inheriently a bit racist. your first reaction should be to sit down and shut up, genuinely. a lot of you would do some good to examine who and what you're sympathizing with and why your first instinct is to exend a loving hand to your white community members, while swatting away and 'critically examining' the poc ones. have some goddamn introspection.

People say "if your biggest problem is people being mean to Paul McCartney on the internet then you must live a charmed life" but actually if your biggest problem is people being mean to Paul McCartney on the internet then you must have way bigger problems you're trying to avoid thinking about and I feel the exact same way and I think everyone needs to be nice to him too

Carl is the type of person to tell kids if they don’t want to eat what’s put in front of them they can starve.
Ray is the type of person to catcall at a stop light and then call the recipient a bitch when they’re not at all receptive to it.
Schwoz is the type of person to invite his friends out for dinner and then only order for himself and let them watch him eat if they don’t have their own money.
Henry is the type of person to respond to “what would you do if I was pregnant” with “kick you down a flight of stairs”.
Charlotte is the type of person to call out someone’s bad behavior and continue to give them the benefit of the doubt when there is no doubt.
Jasper is the type of person to laugh at someone when they fall and get mad when they do it.
Piper is the type of person to post “yeah I’m a bitch. Deal with it,” but only after blocking the person and all their friends so it doesn’t get back to them. Especially the older and less violent she gets.

I mean, "if the city is in a full riot and all the enemies are dead, I successfully Stealthed" is a viable option. Not a good one, but it gets the job done. You're definitely better at it than I am by the simple metric that you do indeed get through the mandatory stealth segments.
Which is why while I love the AC fics, I have zero idea that's going on beyond osmosis and just riding the weirdness. Desmond dies/not-dies and is mistaken for an angel in Ezio's Italy? Desmond is yoten into the super old past and Eagle Man thinks he's a doctor because the guy knows basic germ theory? Desmond can 100% write in Eagle Man's handwriting and spook Ezio-era Templars with Seemingly Immortal Eagleman Cometh ominous letters?
So like Desmond surviving and picking up pre-Hogwarts Harry? Yes. Delicious. Although funny thought: Petunia has traces of Isu DNA in her if she's related to Desmond. So much for being "perfectly normal".
Fair enough. I mean if you’re interested in the actual canon story there are always the cutscene movies on youtube. Which tbh is how I refreshed myself on ac1 since it’s not on PlayStation and I’m not paying like $30 for it on Xbox when it’s like fifteen years old.
Wait is the Des harasses people with Altairs handwriting an actual fic because like imma need a link for that one it sounds hilarious.
I was thinking more “Lily was adopted” but god imagine if Petunia also had Isu DNA and Desmond’s frustration while trying to convince her she and Dudley are in danger with them just not listening to him and making him just take Harry (who might have it from both sides?). It would definitely open up the door for the possibility of angst later as well.

thinking again about how in trigun 98 they had nick kill someone with the face of a child posing as an orphan for vash, and how in tristamp they had him kill a child in the body of a monster who had no choice in what had been done to him, and how instead in trimax nick for vash kills a man who'd approached vash for a death match, who'd demanded to either kill or be killed, a man nick had given vash a fair chance to fight and win against and who nick would have left alone hadn't said man attacked vash when his back was turned after the duel was over and done with, a man who'd been one step from possibly seriously harming vash hadn't nick stepped in. and about how after in all three versions vash yells at nick for it, but only in trimax nick tells vash that he's lucky he's there to play the devil for him so that he can stay a saint, and only in trimax in the arc right after vash ends up thanking nick for killing for him and protecting his home when vash couldn't because of his own morals, and only in trimax in the end when nick isn't there to play the bad guy for vash he ends up being right, and vash ends up having to dirty his hands himself to protect what he loves - while both in 98 and for now tristamp vash stays a saint until the end, and that fight they have ends in itself, and the only lesson it leaves you as a viewer is that nick is jaded enough to kill a child
