I think female characters who have experienced extreme violence should get to hold anger in their heart without it being seen as a moral failing

Character Design Exercise: Strong she/her Character Concepts
Old art but good art, let’s ignore those shoes for now 🙂‍↕️✨
Story about this: I noticed I drew so many masc presenting characters so I wanted to get better at she/her characters 💁✨
This one in particular Sun Ming, I really liked because I’ve never played with a female presenting character in the role of a sociopathic psycho. Plus I liked the arms I gave her🤌✨

💌 This is a work of fiction, I by all means don't force ship anyone. They have the right to love whomever they want.
🍄Wordcount: 1.1K
Growing up in District 9 you always looked up to Chan, admittedly that admiration grew into a fancy. "Where are you heading to?" Minho asked, taking a sip of his americano. You locked your locker, looking up at your best friend, "Seungmin invited me to the club tonight. Who knows maybe I'll see Chan," you said, grinning. Minho rolled his eyes, "You shouldn't get together with him, agi-ah," he said, slinging his bag over his shoulder. You furrowed your eyes, "I can like whoever I want," you muttered. Minho raised his hands in surrender, "Whatever you say," he said, before stuffing them into his pockets.
***
"You feeling alright?" Seungmin asked, rubbing your back. You smiled, "Yup, just a bit nervous is all," you said, rubbing the back of your nape. Seungmin chuckled, "You'd be fine, if anything happens I'll be watching," he said, reassuring you. You giggled, nodding "Alright then, let's go in," you said, walking towards the dance floor. "Hey, didn't think I'd see you here," Chan said, handing you a drink. You giggled, taking the drink, "I could say the same for you," you said, taking a sip. You grimaced. wrinkling your nose, "What's in this," you groaned. Chan chuckled, "Just soju and sprite nothing too strong," he said, taking a sip of his. You bit your tongue, chugging the drink in one shot. Chan's eyes widen "Whoa, slow down there," he said, taking the cup from you. You shook your jitters away, "I'll be fine, as you said it's nothing too strong. Do you want to dance?" you asked. Chan smiled, "I thought I would be the first one to ask," he said, setting your drinks down. You giggled, "Well, drunk me is a bit bolder," you said, walking towards the main floor.
Seungmin watched from afar, keeping you within his gaze as he watched you dance with Chan. Hyunjin sat next to Seungmin, "What are you staring at?" he asked, following Seungmin's gaze. He clenched his jaw feeling jealousy and rage from what he was looking at. Chan's hands wrapped around your waist as he rested his chin on your shoulder, smirking while locking eyes with Hyunjin. Seungmin sighed, finishing his drink, "I better get her home," he said, patting Hyunjin's shoulder.
***
"I'm not drunk," you slurred, resting your body on Seungmin's side. "Sure you aren't," he said, slinking your arm over his shoulder. You grumbled, holding onto Seungmin for stability. One thing Seungmin failed to realize was someone else was following the both of you. Chan kept a safe distance between you two, stalking from afar, never approaching too near.
Seungmin laid you on your bed, "You're going to be alright, right?" he asked, taking off your shoes. You nodded, scrolling through your phone, "I'll be fine, I'm sobering up already," you muttered. Seungmin sighed, "Rest well then, I'll set up hangover meds by your bed in the morning," he said, closing your bedroom door. You suddenly got a text after Seungmin shut your door, 'Minho hyung said you went out Noona. Did you have fun?' Jeongin texted, adding a smile at the end. You cooed at his cuteness and texted back.
Throughout your sleep were nothing but peaceful, absolutely knocked out from the alcohol and exhaustion. Except for a silent watcher, hovering over your bed, "You're so cute, noona," Jeongin whispered, brushing away your hair from your face. He broke into your house but didn't know that someone noticed his actions.
***
You slung your bag over your shoulder, "Innie-ah!" you shouted, waving at him but before you could get closer, Felix grabbed his collar, laying a heavy punch to Jeongin's cheek. "You filthy pervert," he growled, disgusted by Jeongin's actions. "Noona, he's been watching you sleep for god knows how long," he said, gritting his teeth when Jeongin did nothing but laugh. "You sick bastard," he hissed, laying a few more punches, breaking Jeongin's nose.
Hyunjin rested his hand on your head, you flinched, eyes darting around from shock and disgust "I already called the police, they'll be here in a bit. Yongbok-ah, don't kill him or else you'd be sent in too," he shouted, tugging Felix off Jeongin's unconscious body, a grin still plastered on his face. Felix scoffed, "You forgot I'm part of the trainee force. I'll bring him in myself," he said, taking out his handcuffs, and cuffing Jeongin's wrists together.
"What's wrong?" Changbin asked, seeing your teary face. Hyunjin explained as you buried your face within Changbin's chest, trembling in his hold. Seungmin ran towards you, wanting nothing more than to pull you into his arms but Changbin kept his grip tight. Deep down you trusted Changbin more than Seungmin but that was the problem.
Night came, and you fell asleep after trying to force yourself to stay awake but you couldn't. Hyunjin cracked his neck, "That son of a bitch," he muttered, filling your room with chloroform the moment you tucked yourself under the sheets. He carried you, kidnapping you to an abandoned but fully furnished house. During the act, Hyunjin didn't see another pair of eyes watching him. Jisung kept his gaze on the car number plate, memorizing it and making sure to stay quiet during the whole thing.
He called Changbin, knowing Changbin was someone you trusted. Changbin clenched his jaw, taking his bat with him "Fucking hell," he cursed, easily finding Hyunjin's car with Jisung's smart thinking. Changbin got to the house, holding his bat tightly but was shot from the back "Don't you fucking dare," Felix growled, clutching his gun "We found traces of pictures and polaroids all over your room, Seo Changbin," he hissed.
Changbin stumbled to say a word, wanting to defend himself but Felix reloaded his gun, putting a bullet straight into Changbin's skull. The police force ended up keeping Jeongin and Hyunjin under custody, having stacks of evidence for their crimes. What the police didn't know was that some of the evidence was fabricated. Heavy fabricated to keep them behind bars for a very long time.
***
You shudder, burying your face into Minho's shoulder. He chuckled, "You feeling cold?" he asked, wrapping his jacket around you. The both of you started dating a while after the whole fiasco. You furrowed your eyebrows, nodding, "Yes, but I feel like I'm missing something. Like a red flag churning in my gut," you muttered. Minho frowned, ruffling your hair, "It could be trauma resurfacing," he said, rubbing your back. You nodded, leaning against him, "You're right, it must be that," you said, convincing yourself. Minho smiled, "Let's go get cheesecake, your favourite," he said, holding your hand. You giggled, nodding.
Unknowingly to you, the mastermind of your horrors was the man standing by your side right now.

When it comes to a typical psychopath, the suited and booted Patrick Bateman from the novel American Psycho might spring to mind, but, according to one expert, the number of women with the neuropsychiatric disorder could be far greater than previously thought.
Psychopaths are generally considered to lack empathy and guilt, exhibit antisocial behaviour, lie frequently and be ruthless, narcissistic and manipulative.
“Psychopaths are after money, power and control,” said Dr Clive Boddy, from Anglia Ruskin University, who is an expert on psychopaths in the corporate world.
While the idea of psychopaths as violent, antisocial criminals has given way to a more nuanced view – with Boddy among those to argue they are often found in big business – the idea that they are mostly male has remained.
“The behaviour of female psychopaths seems to be subtle enough and less obvious than male psychopaths and therefore they’re not recognised as much,” Boddy said.
“A small but mounting body of evidence describes female psychopaths as prone to expressing violence verbally rather than physically, with the violence being of a relational and emotional nature, more subtle and less obvious than that expressed by male psychopaths,” he noted, adding that may include spreading rumours and lies for personal advantage.
Boddy said one problem was that part of the assessment used to identify psychopaths – known as the Levenson self-report psychopathy scale (LSRP) – was skewed towards identifying the disorder in men.
That, he said, was because while the first part of the assessment looked at how emotionally detached, selfish, uncaring and manipulative a person was, the second part – which covered the psychopathic lifestyle – focused on violence and antisocial behaviour.
“The secondary element, and the measures for it, were largely based on studies of criminals who were in jail at the time and psychopathic – so the feeling is, among researchers these days, that those measures are just not suited to identifying female psychopathy.”
There had also been fewer studies looking at psychopathy in women than in men, he said, and assessors may be reluctant to label women as psychopaths.
Some estimates have suggested there could be a 10:1 ratio of male to female psychopaths, but Boddy’s work, using only the first part of the LSRP, suggested the figures were very different.
“It’s almost one to one,” Boddy said, although he noted large-scale studies of randomly chosen adults would be needed to get a more definitive picture.
Boddy, who is due to give a talk on female psychopaths at the Cambridge festival next month, said that while an estimated 1% of men were psychopaths, the diagnosis sat at one end of a spectrum.
“Estimates [using the first part of the LSRP suggest] there are about 23% of men who, although they’re not categorically psychopathic, have enough of the traits to be problematic for society,” he said.
Boddy’s own research, based on surveys of white-collar workers, suggested such traits were not uncommon in females. “Around 12% to 13% of females have enough of those traits to be potentially problematic,” he said.
Recognising psychopathy in women and men was important, Boddy said, not least because such individuals could have a huge impact in the workplace, with employees sidelined, abused and bullied. In addition, he noted, businesses led by such individuals could lose direction, and it could affect how people viewed large organisations.
“They see the greed, untruthfulness and ruthlessness of those at the top and this undermines democracy and the rule of law,” he said.
Boddy advocated for screening to be applied to job applicants to help protect employees.
“Especially the higher up you go in terms of seniority – therefore you have more power and control – the more those sorts of screening tests and psychometric tests are needed,” he said.

Callisto is the best villain in TV art/entertainment history because not only did she keep the hero on her toes, but she also made that hero just as flawed.
Or is it the other way around? 🤔😉
I can’t believe Callisto was only in 8 episodes of Xena and she still managed to do all of this. Have a full conclusive arc. That’s a combination of phenomenal writing and acting. Hudson really embodied Callisto, and sure, that may not have been for the best for her, but it did give us a really compelling female villain.
