Oh boy-
I saw the most recent writing prompts and got SO excited. I had a really hard time picking. There were SO many good ones
But we need Ardyn with the protective writing prompt:
"Whether you like it or not, You're safest with me"
@sillylittlevulpine Thanks for being patient with me hon. I hope you like this, I haven't written for Ardyn in a while and I feel rusty AF. Hope it's okay!

Y/N was no diplomat.
They were a mere common citizen, fed up with the Lucian crown not doing enough to keep the people safe while many starved and were displaced by the war. They themself were on the brink, having lost everything they held dear in the recent skirmish between the kingdom and empire.
It was why they were smuggled amongst provisions on an Imperial air ship, a last ditch effort to try and make a difference on their own terms.
Y/N knew that the moment they set foot in the lands of Niflheim, there were a thousand ways they could die—a thousand tortures that could befall them. Yet the consequences were outweighed by the hope that somehow, out of the mouth of someone lesser, their words might bring an end to the calamities in Lucis, even if it meant bartering with the enemy. However pure their intentions, there were many things Y/N neglected to consider.
They didn't consider being found so soon on board, immediately being treated with contempt.
They didn't consider the welcoming of fists and weapons at their throat, being blamed for crimes they had never heard of—all because of where they had come from.
They didn't consider being paraded around in public, a spectacle to behold as the soldiers escorted them to the Imperial Palace.
They didn't consider the consequences of being brought to the feet of Emperor Aldercapt himself, who was more than willing to dispatch justice in the form of a grandiose beheading in front of his hundreds of guests amidst an Imperial Ceremony. He proclaimed the sudden intrusion as a sign of the Gods' favor, a sacrificial gift on the eve of Niflheim's name day, three days removed from the anniversary of Solheim's ancient calamity.
Out of all these terrifying events that unfolded so quickly, Y/N never considered that the Chancellor himself would step in to call off the execution.
Nor did they anticipate sitting in the man's very chambers at this moment.
It had been several hours since then, and Y/N's heart pounded heavily in their chest remembering what transpired. How Chancellor Izunia managed to undermine Aldercapt's authority and Niflheim's very traditions, but still kept the peace by appealing to logic, reason, and exploiting hundreds of years of superstition in the same breath.
"It's reasonable to assume a token of good faith by the esteemed six who watch over our endeavors. Yet I beseech the council and the Emperor to remember there is always a price to pay from accepting a boon from gods. Unwrapping such a precious gift could very much bring great misfortune to our feet, especially on an eve of celebration and remembrance. I believe on such a rare and auspicious night, that we let the people of the Empire decide our fate. What say you, excellency?"
The crowd erupted with so much enthusiasm, and so much vigor that Aldercapt had no choice but to bend the knee or lest he be cast unfavorably for weeks to come.
Y/N could remember the Emperors ire toward the Chancellor the rest of the evening, but the latter merely smiled and watched as thousands debated before settling on their choice: to let Y/N live, for now.
Y/N knew so little about the Chancellor, but in that short amount of time, understood he was very much a career politician as much as he was a man of the stars, and that made him perhaps more dangerous than anyone Y/N could've been at the mercy of.
Their breath hitched when the doors suddenly opened, and the very man came waltzing in. Y/N noted how his amber eyes seemed to glow under the dimmed light, casting a shiver down their spine.
"Ah, fancy seeing you still awake at this unholy hour!" He faintly smiled; stopping to let out a breath he had been holding.
"Considering the circumstances, how could anyone sleep?" Y/N murmured under their breath, surprised when he chuckled sincerely at their comment
"A fair observation if there ever was one," He remarked amusingly then gestured for Y/N to remain seated at the foot of the bed as soon as he noticed them adjust. "I don't care for curtseys or for you move an inch. It needn't take me long to get comfortable."
Y/N swallowed as the Chancellor walked across the room, watching him pick up a chair from a large desk. For a moment, an intrusive thought of the man throwing the furniture piece at them crossed Y/N's mind, and they were astonished to see the Chancellor gently place the chair in front of them and casually take a seat.
"You caused quite the commotion back there in the grand hall."
His comment took Y/N aback as they blinked; unsure of what to say. It almost sounded like he was complimenting them.
"I think you outperformed me there, Chancellor."
"Please, call me Ardyn."
Y/N made a face. "Ardyn?"
"An unusual name, I know." He grinned. "There's no need for formality in my own dwelling. You can speak freely, more or less."
More or less...Y/N felt a bead of sweat trickle down their head from that remark.
"I wasn't trying to offend or--"
"What do you call yourself?"
"Pardon?"
"What's your name, dear? Last I checked Lucian's could comprehend such a simple question."
And there it is...Y/N could feel the disdain in his words despite his tone being outwardly charming.
"It's Y/N."
"Y/N," Ardyn repeated it a few times to himself, as if allowing his tongue to grow accustomed to a new flavor. "Spare me of sob stories and gruesome detail, but what brings you to Nilfheim and so, so far away from home?"
There was nothing malicious in his words nor the question Ardyn imposed, but Y/N's muscles tensed as if there was nonetheless. It seemed in comparison to his public image—where he liked to draw things out, Ardyn wanted to get to the point. Neither did Y/N want to prolong this any further than necessary. Whatever the Chancellor intended on doing to them, Y/N had no doubts he would carry it out regardless after this conversation. There was nothing to lose or gain.
"I came to the empire for help."
"Help?"
Y/N nodded.
"And why would you do such a thing, in the middle of a war between our two nations no less?"
Ardyn looked so puzzled that it scared Y/N he was irritated. The confusion on his face seemed uncharacteristic of a man of his stature. The thought didn't stop Y/N from raising a brow, just as bewildered as the man himself.
"I thought you didn't want a sob story?"
"Are you being smart with me, dear?"
"No, no!" Y/N protested. "I'm just--!"
The way he suddenly laughed made the air in the room grow thick with tension, and as Y/N made a fist against the sheets of the mattress, Ardyn let out a content sigh and smirked.
"I'm merely speaking in jest." He said in his defense, letting out a faint but dark chortle. "You are right, however, I'd appreciate some context to our precarious situation."
Just get to the point...Y/N repeated to themself over and over, trying to ignore the sinking sensation that grew in their stomach at how he had been toying with them.
"I came here to talk to Imperials who don't want this war as much as I. There's nothing else to say. I'm not a spy, nor defecting my country, nor do I wish to gain anything. I just...want to talk. To get a conversation started, so we can end this."
The silence that hung in the air after Y/N's testimony was palpable to where not even a knife could cut the tension. It didn't help that the Chancellor's features went neutral, almost unreadable save for his eyes which Y/N noted seemed to dance to an invisible tune that no human could comprehend. The way he looked at them was scary in a manner Y/N couldn't describe, but feel on a cellular level.
Ardyn slowly canted his head, a look of wonderment crossing his face briefly as he studied them. "How most naive of you..."
"What's going to happen next?"
"I beg your pardon?"
Y/N gulped. "What's going to happen to me? Am I to be shot outside your chambers or taken to prison?"
"You have quite the grotesque imagination," Ardyn chuckled at their expense, shaking his head in disbelief. "You heard the people back at the Grand Hall, you're to live this night."
"And after?"
He went silent again, and Y/N tried not to avert their gaze from his as he hummed.
"That remains to be decided, that being said, I believe we might be able to help each other."
Y/N's pulse spiked yet again as Ardyn's smile grew, and his pupils expanded; nearly overtaking the orange that covered his irises.
"Contrary to what you no doubt assume, I hold nothing nefarious toward you. You can snuff out the flame of whatever ills are invading your head at this moment." Ardyn said as a matter of fact before continuing. "Perhaps your tale of woe is a boon from the gods after all."
"What do you mean by that?"
"Let's just say I've been looking for an 'in' to get back into the good graces of your king's court for negotiation." Ardyn debated with himself on speaking further, then uncrossed his legs and adjusted in his seat. He scooted the chair a little closer to Y/N, eyes locking onto theirs. "You and I seem to have a similar appreciation for the art of conversation, and I find this potentially useful."
It became difficult for Y/N to comprehend what he was saying now, as the fear that overtook them seemed to filter out Ardyn's words. They could barely hear their voice over their heart beating, blood pumping so loud in their mind that the noise began to drown out everything else.
"You're trembling."
Ardyn's faint murmur snapped Y/N out of their trance, and they shook their head in protest. The hidden maliciousness they had sensed earlier returned, growing even stronger as Ardyn suddenly appeared inches from their face. Y/N didn't have time to breathe, much less comprehend the seconds in between.
"Do I frighten you?" He asked, his voice low and dark.
There was no point lying to him, not when those eyes could see through anything.
"Greatly..."
"Good..."
"I'd like to be placed in custody elsewhere," Y/N whispered, trying not to blink out of fear they'd find themselves in the jaws of a predator. His little laugh made their nerves freeze over.
"After the trouble I went through on your behalf, you'd soon rather leave me than hear further of my proposition?"
Y/N nodded. "I would."
"Well, I must implore you to listen carefully," Ardyn's voice dipped as he glared for the first time. "So long as you remain in the Empire, whether you like it or not, you're safest with me."
"I..." Y/N's body picked up on something their mind had trouble feeling out. It didn't help that this played in tandem with their stomach churning in knots over the way he stared them down. "I don't believe you."
And just like that, a dark chuckle from Ardyn broke the atmosphere and Y/N stared in confusion as he backed away and stood, looking down at them.
"I shall leave you to your thoughts," Ardyn gave a soft bow with his head toward Y/N and smirked. "We have much to discuss tomorrow once I sort through how to keep you alive."
He was starting to leave his chambers, until Y/N called out, still bothered by something.
"Wait!"
"Hmm?"
"Why did you speak on my behalf in the first place? You didn't know my intentions until now. What made you put on that performance and keep Aldercapt from cutting off my head?"
Ardyn once more debated with himself, his confidence from earlier waning as he hadn't expected them to cut to the chase as much as he did with them. A faint smile graced his lips when he noticed the connection, furthering the wheels that had been turning in his head.
"The night was dull," He shrugged. "And I was bored out of mind..."
He departed without another sound, closing the large doors behind him.
Y/N didn't even get the chance to ask where they would sleep.
Meanwhile, Ardyn ventured out of his dwelling and into the main hall. Not far from the doors, Verstael awaited him. The older man held a weight of exhaustion in his aged face as Ardyn grinned and walked past him.
"I came down from the keep as soon as I heard what you did." Verstael called out, and began to follow his colleague.
Ardyn smirked, slowing his pace so Verstael could catch up. "You missed out my dear friend! The ceremony became quite a spectacle after that. One could argue I saved the day in more ways than one."
"Be it as it may the party is over," Verstael sighed, shaking his head. "What says Aldercapt now about your new little friend?"
"For now," Ardyn began. "The gods show them favor."
"Just the gods?"
The pair stopped walking, and Ardyn's gaze burrowed into Verstael's as the old man stared him down. The hall became heavy with unspoken words that yearned to bubble to the surface.
"Just the gods..." Ardyn answered bluntly.
Verstael let out a small huff and smiled. "Let's keep it at that."
"You're worried?"
"A man in my position can't help but worry, especially when a dear colleague of his days ago confided he had been missing his home and, what would you know, a piece of it comes stumbling to our doorstep."
"Don't make me ill," Ardyn sighed, trying to cease rolling his eyes. "A distraction is fun, but not the end game as we both know."
Verstael gazed over Ardyn a few more times before deciding he had enough interrogating for now. "Come. I'd love to discuss what your plans are with the Lucian we now have at our disposal."
Ardyn didn't say a word as he and Verstael continued their walk. There were many things he neglected to consider when he vouched for Y/N's life, but he never considered they'd still be alive after their conversation—for he had fully been set on turning his pent-up daemonic tendencies loose upon them after they said their piece.
Nor did he anticipate growing fond of them already.
He bit the inside of his cheek.
Y/N was no diplomat, but Ardyn loved the prospects that stemmed from the fact.

nyx ulric x s/o drabble "Peace"
trying to feed myself with some Nyx ulric goodness but this turned angst help, enjoy fellow nyx fangirls. There's fluff in it i swear...but you gotta wade through angst...i'm sorry
........
Today was another one of those days where he wished he could skip work, launch his phone across Lucis and come see you. But duty called and this mission was.. rough. Everything that could go wrong during the mission did.
Recently Nyx's squadron took in a few new recruits, they were green around the gills which was to be expected. One didn't listen, another was cocky arrogant ars hole and the last one was...big kid. But not the I'll never grow up rather they were pushed into a role they weren't ready for. Nyx was beyond frustrated with the other two but the other guy Nyx was terrified for...he reminded him of his younger sister..
On his first ever mission Nyx stayed by his side, making sure the kid didn't get too banged up, he made sure he only took action when he could handle it. But..it wasn't enough..
One minute the kid was grinning from ear to ear, proud of himself for nailing a hit on the enemy.. than his smile faded as he was devoured by a scorched daemon.
"CALLIGAN!!"
Nyx warped over and tried to save him but it was too late...all that was left behind was the young mans blades.
Grabbing his blades he ran toward anyone and anything that crossed his path, shredding through daemons and magiteck alike. He only stopped once the battlefield was vacant.
The rest of his squadron came over and the two rooks just looked at each other. Realizing that.. shite was about to get real.
around midnight Nyx arrived back home, but when he arrived in front of his door he saw "him" again. Quickly backing up Nyx tried to shake it but the images wouldn't leave him be..
That's when you called.. Nyx quickly changed his tone and demeanor as he quickly ran inside his apartment grabbed his duffle bag and warped over to your place.
Arriving at your place he's met by the smells of a freshly cooked meal and the sight of his beloved girlfriend wearing only the finest that Lucis could provide. A hoodie that looked far too familiar, it was his and a pair of gray sweats...which were also his. Shaking his head nyx opened up the sliding glass door and walked inside.
You had offered to give Nyx a key to your place but he didn't want to risk some knucklehead having access to your place. So instead you leave the sliding glass door unlocked, and well considering that your on the 22nd floor.. who else was going to come through there? Santa?
You bring out two beers and two plates of food one for him and one for you, you both decide to sit out on the balcony. After finishing the food nyx takes the plates in and washes them, than you two cuddle under the stars. You attempt to name a few stars but with all the light pollution its a bit hard to.
"Its funny I grew up with the stars and galaxy above my head every night. And i didn't get caught up in it too much...but now that i can't see it all too well..i miss it."
Nyx goes silent and you stare at him from the corner of your eye...something is wrong.
"hey..Nyx..?"
"let me guess your still hungry?"
"no"
"You want me to carry you to bed?"
"no you big dork"
"You...want more cuddles? Because if so it comes with a price."
"As much as that sounds nice..no."
Nyx turns to look at you. "what than?"
"Are you okay?"
Nyx turns away and you watch as he pretty much goes still, all except those beautiful steel blue eyes that you love so much. You wait a moment before scooching closer to him.
"Another glaive went home today...he didn't make it out there.. I was quick enough.."
You can hear the strain in his voice as if he's fighting back tears.
"He was made for this line of work, he was just a boy. He had a family, a mother.. a brother.. a sister.. Who's gonna tell them? Who's gonna tell them that he's not coming back? He joined to fight for his home and it cost him everything.. And what do we have to show for it?"
You slowly reach for Nyx's hands and pull them toward you causing Nyx face you.
"What are we fighting for y/n? Why am I fighting? Whats the point?.. We lose more lives than we save, what or who is going to welcome up back when this was is over.. if it ever ends."
"I'm sorry that I don't have the answers, but can i offer you something else?"
"...." Nyx's pain disappears briefly as he chuckles. "Cuddles, headpats and warm neck I can burry my face into?"
"Peace. atleast for the night and you know all of that too."
"I'll take it but only if its coming from you."

ARDYN's CAR GETTING PUNKED BY THE BROS. SOMONE PUT CAR EYELASHES ON THAT HOE
AMAZING BEST THING IVE BEEN ASKED HDFJKDHF- THANK YOU!!
Super Spy Shit. Platonic chaos with Noctis and Prom!
Tumblr media
It was midnight, Galdin Quay was as silent as it’s ever been. The sounds of crashing waves and crunching sand filled the air, a plan was in motion.
“Shhhh!” Noctis stopped in his tracks, holding an arm out barring you and Prompto. “You hear that? Sounds like a sleeping dualhorn, watch out.” The prince was hyper-aware of the beasts, as just yesterday he was flung off one’s back in an attempt to warp strike it.
“Bro. That’s just Gladio.” Prompto whispered back, pushing further past Noct and into the night.
As much as you wanted to laugh, this was no circus. The three of you were on a mission, and it was life or death. Soon the sand turned to concrete, it was close. Dimmed street lamps cast on to the emptied lot. Well, almost empty. The Regalia was parked in her usual spot, and…
“Ardyn’s car! Theeere it is.” You were shuffling in place, this was how it must feel to be a spy. Three fully grown adults jumping around in the Galdin Quay parking lot at midnight. Maybe this was a circus. The royal clown was the first to approach the vehicle. Despite it being, well, Ardyn’s car.. It was quite the beauty. A classic convertible, maroon with a white stripe down the center. Leather interior, too? Mwah. You clasp your hands together, offering it a silent prayer for what was to come.
“Friiiiick man.” Prompto ran forward. “I’ll be the lookout, goodspeed, soldiers.”
The trio exchanged salutes and got to work. You held the key to this whole operation. “One each, Noct. Stick em’ and go. One with the night.” Shaky hands produced something sinister.
“One with the night.” Noctis took the catalyst for disaster in his hand.
Half of a pair of comically large car eyelashes were in the prince’s hands. Yes, you were punking Ardyn with fucking car eyelashes. AGAIN, this was no laughing matter. You check to see if blondie over ther was still on watch. He went off to pet the nearby stray cat.
You turn back to the task at hand, watching Noctis carefully pull of the lash’s film, its strong adhesive now ready for use. He sticks it on with the hands of a pro, damn. This was not his first time applying false eyelashes, car or no car.
Juuust as you were about you start peeling, the air stills. Were you being watched? And had the temperature always been this cold..? Noct looks at you with the same sense of dread. This was it. Death was on the horizon.
“What is the meaning of this?” Ignis spoke at a regular volume, not trying to be stealthy in the slightest.
“AAAAAHHHHHGHHH-” Noctis was the first to scream, warping to escape. At that moment, Prompto was skipping his way back to you, not a care in the world. He, too screamed, when Noctis flew into him at mach speeds. The pair was on the sidewalk, groaning at the collision. Fools.
You froze in place, meeting Ignis’ stare with an awkward smile. This was it, you three were dead meat. Noct and Prompto scuttled their way to your side, attempting to find a good way to explain why you were defacing Ardyn’s car.
“Well…” You all expected Ignis to blow up, this wasn’t behavior fitting a prince and his entourage. “At least let me stick the other one, yeah?”
An eruption of cheers and maybe a few tears came after he spoke. After all, even Ignis can’t stand the guy.
After the deed was done, the four of you walked back to the caravan, arms linked. Noct looked up to the sky and smiled, little moments like this make him forget the weight of the world is on his shoulders.
“Halt.” Ignis held up a gloved hand. “I dare say.. Is that a sleeping dualhorn?” The loud snoring from earlier still filled the air.
“Uhhh that’s Gladio.” Prompto laughed, having heard this quip before. He moved to enter the caravan, but was quickly pulled back.
“Then why am I looking at him.” In the distance, a shirtless Gladiolus was seen during his cursed midnight jogs.
So.. it truly was a..

“My True Love” |Lunafreya x Noctis | FF15 Fluff |
A/N: So my first canon x canon writing I believe. . .lol, first time for everything I guess. Well I have written them before but not posted and stuff ya know? I thought about this song for the two of them a few months ago and had wanted to do a fic for it but couldn’t really think of anything. This takes place after the game.
Tumblr media
Warnings: Fluffy loving!
Song: Black is the Color of My True Love’s Hair by Nina Simone (this song is so beautiful her voice is gorgeous!)
Tagging: @stephicness @zacklover24 @neko-otaku13 @misssarahdoll @rubyphilomela @eternallydaydreaming2015 @mistressoli @cagedbycravings @blondechocobobutt @chocobabyporcelain @waifuthewhite @sheylann @mandakatt @ardyns-jabberwocky @lady-asuka @sweetchocobae @chocobropuffs @chocobroing @valkyrieofardyn @promptoargentum-is-my-husband @promptoastandbutter @nykamito @nyxswaifu @fieryfantasy @insomniacapples @insomniasix @diadyn
-Black is the color of my true loves hair. His face so soft and wondrous fair. The purest eyes, and the strongest hands. I love the ground on where he stands. I love the ground on where he stands.-
Lazing in bed, was it afternoon or morning to be even more thorough a week day or a weekend? The days have merged all in one day one glorious day with him.
‘His hair is the darkest shade of black that I have ever seen it is so silky soft I could run my fingers through it all day.’ She thought as she ran her fingers through his long hair.
Curled up on the bed with Noctis, his wife finally, Lunafreya was watching him sleep. He was exhausted from the previous nights activities, laying on his side his face towards hers. There was slight scars on his bare chest as the blanket hardly covered his torso. Long slender fingers brushing through his hair down his slender jaw line, the soft features of his face even at this age still looked boyish. It was beautiful to see, her eyes couldn’t stray from his face it was something she dreamed about.
She would do all he asked of her, she loved him so much sacrificing all that she had for him so he could move forward with the prophecy. He needed to defeat Ardyn at all costs to bring peace back to EOS, even if that meant his life. She had foreseen it as Oracle, that his life was fated from the day he was born.
-Black is the color of my true loves hair, of my true loves hair. Of my true loves hair.-
“Your hair is darker than the night, soft as a baby’s skin so silky and perfect how is it like that? Did the all those years in Crystal make it this perfect, I swear this wasn’t like it when we were kids.” She commented in a soft whisper, though she knew she could shout and not wake him.
He was such a heavy sleeper, it gave her time to admire his features. Reaching over she placed a kiss to his cheek, to his temple and in his hair enjoying the scent of lavender shampoo.
-Oh I love my lover, and where he goes. Yes, I love the ground on where he goes.-
She recalled the previous day they had spent out walking the land, exploring coming across a fish spot. Lunafreya followed him watching each graceful step he made, the regal look on his face as he scouted the land. His smile that broke from the calm look made her smile he looked so pleased to see the fishing spot.
When he sat down on the edge of the dock looking up at her a welcoming smile for her, patting the spot beside him. It was such a small action but she felt so close to him as she walked over to him pulling off her shoes and sitting down.
“I love the very ground you walk on Noctis.”
“The ground I walk on you say?” He quipped.
“The air you breath, if you touch it I will love it.” Lunafreya said, resting her head on his shoulder closing her eyes softly.
“If I were to touch you would you love yourself?” Noctis asked, wrapping a arm around her holding her close placing a kiss on the top of her head.
“Of course, I would love myself more than I do.”
“Tonight I want all of you for myself, to touch you all over my love.”
-And still I hope, that the time will come. When he and I will be as one. When he and I will be as one.-
They had spent a night together as one, it was more than what she dreamed of. His passion was more than her body could handle, giving into the throws of passions all night locked in his arms and legs. Calling his name out over and over like it was a mantra, the only thing on her mind was pleasing him.
Her love for him knew no bounds.
The only words falling from his lips was her name in broken moans and groans. Craving her touch as if it was his life blood, what kept him alive and sane. Seeing her come undone under him was completing like nothing else he had experienced before.
His love for her knew no bounds.
-So black is the color of my true love's hair. Black is the color of my true love's hair. Black is the color of my true love's hair-
Curling up close to him she wrapped her arms around him lacing fingers in his long black hair. Sleepily Noctis nuzzled into her muttering a soft greeting to her as he pressed a kiss to her pale skin. Tracing soft patterns in her skin as he wrapped his arms around her wanting to be ever so close to her, for he worshiped the ground she walked on the air she breathed, loved everything she touched.

Hello! I’ve made this blog because I love Final Fantasy! Haha I love other FF games but this blog is for FFXV! I just ant to give a huge thanks to @ff15trashgoldenslumbers for helping me!! Go check out her blog its amazing! She also gave me the idea for this fic, drabble, scenario? Whatever you wanna call it XD. This is my first time writting for these charecters so they’re probably just maybe (if i’m lucky) a little bit OOC, forgive me for that! ———————————————————————————————————
The chocobros first thought when they saw their s/o
Noctis:
Wow she’s absolutely gorgeous. It’s like I’m staring at a goddess, maybe I should ask her out….oh god she’s looking at me. Act cool Noctis, smile, give her a nod, yeah hey girl. Is laughing good???? IS IT?! Okay she’s still looking lean on the wall! And I fell so not cool, wait she’s coming over. Haha score.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Prompto:
Oh my god she’s as cute as a chocobo. I didn’t think that was possible but there she is all…cute girl like. Maybe I can take a picture and say I was taking a picture of the ocean. Yeah nice thinking Prompto. And I got the picture, man she’s beautiful in this photo. Wait……she’s calling out to me. IS SHE MAD!? Just stay calm dude, she wants a copy of the photo. She knew, but I also got her number, awesome~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gladio:
Hottie alert, oh shit did I say that out loud she’s looking at me. Not like I care if I said it out loud, I mean come on she’s way more then a ten~ Man would I like to do some fun things with her. Damn she’s still looking at me, I’m going to go and talk with her. And by talk I mean flirt with her like the world is ending tomorrow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ignis:
She is quite lovely, the way her hair falls in front of her face and how passionate  she talks about the things she loves. Her smile is like watching the sunrise on a new day, it’s absolutely beautiful. I’ve only just met her but I believe I’m already falling in love with her.
Family cor/nyx: Winter
Its fucking freezing.
Was the first thought Nyx had as he trudged out of the Citadel once de-brief was over. The campaign at south Cleigne taking longer than expected with the increase of MTs. For a native Galahdian who had grown up in the comfortably warm tropics, he is still not used to winters in Insomnia even after a couple of years being here.
Sure his kin celebrated Winter Solstice in honor of Shiva but without the pointless snow thank you very much.
“Yo. Wanna head to Yamachang’s?Crowe’s already there.” Libertus pats his back, before sneezing at the sudden change of temperature.
“Sure-“ SCREEEEEEEEEEE
“Astrals fucking damn it. Wake the whole city why don’t you!” Libertus leaps back at the piercing ringtone.
“What? Don’t like the sound of a Zu waking up?” Nyx grins before tapping into his messages
[C 6:45pm] Heard your team just arrived back. Able to come over?
“Who’s that?” His friend peers over, trying to catch a glimpse but Nyx simply shoves him away and taps out a reply. For Cor to reach out to him is rare in itself. Especially so soon after arriving back from a mission. Is it Prompto?
[Nyx 6:46pm] Np give me like 30mins
[C 6:46pm] Don’t rush. Take your time.
“Now you are being sus.What’s with that shit eating grin?” Libertus tries snatching the phone but Nyx smoothly dodges and shoves the other man away.
“Change of plans, gotta go.”
“Go where??” Libertus calls after him incredulously but Nyx doesn’t reply, waving back as he walks down the Citadel steps.
There is little traffic, since its the holiday season and everyone is mostly holed up at home with loved ones away from the cold. Nyx takes the subway, wistfully looking at the cold cityscape. A far cry from the beautiful forests of his home. There’s a family of three next to him. Nyx looks away.
He misses them. His Mam and Selena.
The Galahadian hops off his stop and follows down the familiar path towards the ever familiar residence. The quiet neighbourhood now in a blanket of white. He steps up and strangely hesitates at the doorbell. Nyx shakes the feeling off and presses the chime, hearing the cheery jingle followed by the shuffling patter of feet.He vaguely hears a muffled “Prom!” and laughs softly as the door creeks open.
“NYX! WELCOME BACK!”
“OOF-” Nyx grabs Prompto who launched himself at the Glaive.The blond locks of the child had gotten longer from the last time he had seen.”Someone grown taller while I was away!”
“Prompto, let Nyx in first.” The Marshal calls out, dressed in a soft grey knitted jumper, it would be an unusual sight for anyone to see the head of the Crownsguard dressed so casually, but not Nyx.
“Hey.What up?” Nyx asks as he removes his shoes and coat, slipping on the slippers and following them into the warm home of the Leonis father and son. A simple festive tree decked in lights sits in the corner of the living room. The smells of a roast and sweets fills the space.
“Heard you were coming back, though Shiva’s Day is over but its still the holidays.” Cor starts as Prompto rushes in help set his plate.”Prompto insists on having you over for dinner. He’s got something for you.”
“Damn. I feel bad now. I don’t have a present.” Nyx says sheepishly while taking a seat at the dining table. It was a simple spread before him, garulessa steak and roast ham, a salad and mash.Yet the foreigner knew it must have taken them all day to prepare.
How did Cor time his arrival that well? The Marshal has his ways, the Glaive suppose.
Dinner was good and hearty. For a soldier, he couldn’t have asked for more than a home cooked meal. Sure, it was not Galahdian cuisine  and spices he loved but it still tasted of home and all things good. This.This was what he is fighting for to protect as a Kingsglaive.
Prompto looks better too, unlike the sad child from the past year, he was healthier and animated. Nyx is pleased with that. The change in schools and environment really worked.
The trio clears away the leftovers and helps to clear away the table, until Cor gives Prompto a look and the boy scuttles off into the kitchen again. While he pours another whiskey for Galahdian and himself at the living room as they make themselves comfortable at the couch.
“Thats not yours.” Nyx eyes the bottle.
“Its not.”
“The Lord Shield won’t be happy.”
“The only ones who know are me and you, the heaven and the earth.” Cor smirks, “Clarus won’t miss what he can’t find.”
“Such wisdom.” Nyx laughs as he clinks their glasses and they enjoy the whiskey.
“Nyx!”
Nyx turns over his shoulder as Prompto waddles over. Shock is an understatement as he receives the warm bowl from the blonde. He recognises the smell anywhere.
It was red sweet soup and two coloured dumplings.
“H-how?” He looks at Prompto, who looks abashed, fidgeting his feet around.
“Jada Mae and the aunties in the market said that in Galahd you all have sweet dumplings for Shiva’s Day. She told me how to make it. Dad helped me, right Dad?”
“Prompto did his homework.”Cor smiles and ruffles Prompto’s hair,”I just help to keep an eye on the sugar while he rolled the dumplings.”
“I-is it okay?” Prompto asks, worry laced in his voice.”I don’t know if its okay.”
For once, Nyx had no words as he stirs the dessert and takes a bite. He lets the familiar sweetness hit his tongue. It tasted like home. He quickly puts the bowl down and pulls Prompto into a tight hug.
“Nyx?” Prompto pats his shoulder but Nyx simply buries himself deeper into the shoulder of the precious boy.
“Its good lil Cub.Its good.”Nyx chokes out after a long while.”Thank you.”
Cor smiles as Nyx slowly pulls the child on his lap as they share the festive treat.The Immortal Shogun watching them fondly.
Merry Christmas!
Prompto giving a female S/O a shy kiss (requested by a friend)
Tumblr media
There you were, sitting there without full realization of how beautiful you came across to him. He had stolen glances of you when you least expected it, even caught you in front of the lens, though out of fear, he never shared those to anyone. It was a secret he held close.
He didn’t few himself worthy of someone like you. Someone who was comical as well as caring, someone who could roll with the punches of whatever this crazy life threw at you and all while looking breathtakingly beautiful.
He never admitted to your face how he felt about you. Every time he would talk himself up to have the courage to do so, something would come up, or someone would waltz right in and deplete his confidence levels. However, nothing was stopping him from right here and now.
Ignis, Noctis and Gladio were back at camp while the two of you were gazing at the night sky seeking comfort in each others presence without outright saying it. Each star twinkled, but to him, the beauty they hold didn’t hold a candle to you.
“Y/N...” His voice trailed off, which caused you to look at him confused by the expression he wore. You two grew to know each other and you knew that expression very well, he was nervous, maybe anxious? Shy even? Perhaps. Deciding nothing of it, you looked back up at the sky with your hands behind you as a prop to hold you up.
He leaned forward and quickly placed a rather chaste, shy kiss on your cheek. The courage it took to do that, you will never fully grasp, but he did. And his stomach was in knots for it.
You looked over at him slowly and the lingering impression with that ever so cute and faint redness that tinted your skin at the brim of your nose, he could tell you were flustered. He had gotten what he wanted out of it and then a bonus. He didn’t want to ruin the moment, so instead, he placed his arm around you and pulled you close to his frame to enjoy the night sky together without any prying eyes that may poke fun at him for it.
Cute things about Ignis.
Tumblr media
Alright it’s been forever and I’m so nervous but here we go!
Okay, so maybe Iggy isn’t the type of guy some would expect to be cute. Like, yeah he’s one of the most beautiful guys you’ll ever look at but he’s really prim and proper, yanno? Most people wouldn’t initially think “this man does cute things” bc they’re too busy drooling a puddle on the floor or hiding bc he’s just so..... much. But rest assured this man is probably the cutest of all the chocobros.
Has a giant leather book in the glove box of his car full of CDs that he’s been collecting since he was a teenager. There is a wide range of genres because he appreciates all styles of music. His favorites are labeled with a little star. When the boys found out about this they dubbed them “iggy’s special tunes”.
Blushes a LOT. Sometimes he doesn’t even need a reason. His face just does that and it’s adorable.
Has some freckles all of the time, but when he gets some sun they practically multiply. By the end of the summer his whole face and body is speckled with little constellations.
Is a big fan of any fantasy book he can get his hands on. He is also the type of person to highlight his favorite parts of books with a bright, neon highlighter. Thinks folding the pages is sacrilegious though.
Always matches his socks to whatever tie he might be wearing.
Will literally never be caught being impolite. When he’s walking around in public he has his hands clasped behind his back to help avoid bumping into people in the busy crowds. Always calls older women “Miss” no matter how old they are because he was once told that using “ma’am” makes them feel old.
Low key.... will kiss your booboos if you ask.
Sometimes he hides in the bathroom to avoid his very important duties just to play a game on his phone for a few minutes. It’s usually the old snake game or minesweeper. Everyone knows about it but doesn’t have the heart to tell him that they can hear the beeps and blips through the door.
Has cartoon bandaids in his medicine cabinet RIGHT NOW.
Is kind of allergic to cats but loves them so much that he will power through it just to pet one when he sees it.
Gets a lot of headaches so he will ask someone if they can rub his temples for him while he lays down. He also blushes the entire time.
Picks flowers every weekend to put in this really pretty vase he has on his kitchen counter.
If you manage to catch him before his morning coffee, he is a whole different man. He might be a little grumpy, but he is also so SO pouty that it’s a little ridiculous. It’s good that he isn’t aware of it because he could convince the king himself to step down if he used his pout long enough.
Is actually a giant goofball but in a less obvious way than certain other bros. His sense of humor is very dry and sarcastic with a sprinkling of puns here or there. If he gets you with a good zinger he will finger gun at you.
Don’t tell anyone but he loves to ice skate. He took Noct one year when they were younger and it stuck with him ever since. Doesn’t get to go as often as he likes but if you mention it to him he will light up like a Christmas tree. It makes him so happy.
Paints his nails with a clear varnish because he likes the shiny~~ look. Sometimes adds a bit of holo glitter just because. It’s not like anyone at work will see it under his gloves anyway. He does it for him.
When he’s focused he makes this low rumble/ hum noise. He kind of sounds like an engine.
Purposefully makes his voice deeper (if that’s even possible) when he’s talking to people of high ranks. For some reason he thinks it’ll make them like him more? Either way it’s hilarious to hear if you already know what he sounds like.
Peace signs a lot when friends are taking a photo of him. He doesn’t know when or how it started but now he can’t stop. It’s beginning to take a toll on him.
If requests are open right now, could we get the Chocobros dealing with S/O's ex. Like they won't leave S/O alone no matter how many times they've told the ex that they have a lover now and they don't want to get back together. If requests are not open just ignore this entirely. Thank you and have a wonderful day.❤❤❤
Ohhhh the drama in me loves this! but the anger in me makes me wanna punch ex’s like this! All in all good fuel! Kinda slight NSFW with Gladio here, hope that’s okay…
~~~~~
Noctis
You shifted your head slightly, trying to hide your face. Granted being a Princess was still new to you in hundreds of ways but that didn’t make what was happening any stranger.
When you and Noctis became public in your last year of being in school you immediately were thrown into a completely different life than the one you grew up in. You had to quit your job, move twice, and learned that being online you had to become very vague about a lot of stuff.
Before Noctis, you dated this guy that was kinda of…well full of himself. He was always posting selfies and talked himself up as if he himself were a god. After requesting to be in at least one selfie with him on his page after dating for a while and then him getting pissed at you when you posted a picture of the two of you with some friends and him thinking it would make him lose his fanbase you realized that you just wasted a good two months of your life.
So off the idiot in foil armor went and in strolled your Prince on a White Chocobo. You couldn’t exactly post selfies with him, but Noctis always made certain that you were by his side in any tabloid, magazine, fashion shoot, anytime there was a couple opportunity he was certain to take it and show you off!
But it still didn’t excuse the fact that your annoying two-month ex was everywhere! All the damn time! Some gossip column was all over it when you gave the vague question about kissing a few frogs to get your prince and tried digging up your nonexistent love life before Noctis and found that mistake, and this asshole figured he’d ride on your coattails to boost himself.
Nearly every magazine for a year was all about your previous relationship with the guy: Prince Noctis’s New Girlfriend EX Spills All. There were so many false columns and info this guy was giving about you that Prompto last year gave you a red thread board of him trying to solve who this guy was actually talking about and the only idiot he came up with was aliens.
You still laugh at it whenever you have a bad day.
So to see this asshole now at this charity event for animals was just so annoying! He must have volunteered at the shelter when it broke news a few weeks ago that the royal family was going to help raise money. Gladiolus noticed him before you, and the big guy was itching to throw him out since the last time the guy tried to break into a ball.
“You want me to toss him?”
“Nah, just keep an eye on him.” You replied to the big guy, only to feel Noctis take your hand.
“You sure?”
You could only nod, the guy just talked a lot, and as long as Noctis thought you were cool, you didn’t give a damn what any tabloid said about you.
So while Noctis was talking with the charity people and getting everything ready for you all to leave, you had stepped away to take a few selfies with the volunteers of the event with some of the dogs, cats, and Chocobo’s they had brought out to do photoshoot earlier.
“Y/N.”
You turned, only to be greeted by your ex standing there, you could be civil for Noctis’s sake, “Hello.”
He chuckled softly, “That’s all you’ve got to say to me?”
You blinked, “Do I know you?”
“Oh, you don’t remember me?”
You smiled, “I’m afraid I don’t.”
“Princess Y/N, Are you ready?”  Prompto called, he was at your side with the selfies so you weren’t left alone. The blonde leaning in to whisper in your ear, “You okay?”
“Yes, thank you Prompto.” You cooed, taking his arm as he moved you over to Noctis. You gasped as you felt something snag the sleeve of your dress, expecting it to be one of the Chocobo’s, but quickly found yourself in a whirlwind.
You recalled a cracking sound, quickly followed by being pushed behind Gladiolus, only to find your ex on the ground, Ignis, and Prompto holding him down. You were only able to piece it together a few moments after it happened and both yourself and Noctis were quickly escorted to the car by Gladiolus.
Apparently, everyone was so focused on Prompto decking the guy the hadn’t noticed Noctis was keeping an eye on the guy so when your ex  grabbed you, Noctis had tossed a pen over towards your feet warping after it. Gladiolus jumped before the two of you, while Ignis and Prompto subdued the guy.
You honestly had to admit that you loved that Noctis was so protective of you and wanted to always do best by you, but the fact that your ex was still in the news was a little icing on the cake, but now instead of being labeled as the “Ex of the new Princess” he had a lovely new nickname of “Stalker.” or even better year, “Inmate.”
~~~~~
Prompto
When you both started dating Prompto had already known that he was going to take everything you had to offer. He just wished that your Ex wasn’t a part of it, he wouldn’t give you up for anything in the world, but your Ex he’d give that jerk up for a plate of stinky tofu.
From what you had told him, you had broken up with your Ex after quite a bit of time of him comparing you to other women. Time and again, why weren’t you thinner, why weren’t your boobs bigger, why don’t you were makeup more often, why don’t you dress better.
Prompto honestly didn’t see what the guys deal was, to him you were those most perfect of perfect! No one could compare to you, and it seems that your Ex realized it way too late. He had overheard from your friend’s hundreds of times that you seemed to glow so much more in a relationship with Prompto.
It was only when he saw it first hand that he realized just what a scumbag this asshole was.
It was date night, you had both decided to go hang out at the little carnival in the park the two of you would often jog through. You had left him holding your purse and a stuff Chocobo he had won you at a shooting game to head to the bathroom. He was waiting on a bench just outside the restrooms, messing around on his phone, waiting for you to come out.
When you appeared he stood to go get you, when he noticed a guy quickly approach you. The look across your face was one that he wasn’t familiar seeing on you but he immediately knew that it was of distress, so he quickly moved over to you.
“…come on Y/N, let’s just go somewhere and talk.”
“I’m here with my boyfriend.”
“I know that I’ll…”
Prompto had only heard a part of it, but that was more than enough, “There you are, figured you fell in.” He laughed, his arm going around your shoulders, as he pressed a kiss to your temple, turning those violet eyes to your ex. “Is this a friend of yours?”
The sneer on your ex’s face didn’t go unnoticed, the guy wouldn’t even look at Prompto, “Y/N, come on we can go somewhere private and…”
“Sorry buddy, date night,” Prompto called, as he handed you the stuff Chocobo, before turning you around. “You understand right.”
He didn’t even wait for a reply before whisking you away. Only when he made certain that you both weren’t being followed by the jerk he turned to you making sure that you were all right, but instead found you holding tightly to the plush.
Moving the both of you besides a candy apple stand, he turned to face you, “Y/N, are you okay, we can go home if you want.”
You shook your head, before turning to Prompto with a large smile, “You were so cool, Prompto.”
He honestly didn’t know if the apples or his face was redder.
~~~~~
Gladiolus
At least twice a month, you would get these annoying text messages. It was never during the day typically anytime from 9 at night to 6 in the morning. Most of the time it wasn’t too big a deal, they would start, and either you or Gladiolus was mute the phone or turn it off should neither of you have any duties for the evening.
The issue was they there were coming from an ex, an annoying ex! Despite the fact that you had been the one to break up with the asshole after finding him in bed with not one but two other people. Granted your break up was you grabbing the guy and tossing him out, you let the other two get dressed as they both seemed just as equally confused to see you. You then did a little therapy by selling all the clothes and items you had bought him and smashing the game station you had brought him that he left at your place with your battle axe.
Noctis claimed that he still had nightmares about it.
He tried stating you were a crazy bitch, and that you destroyed his stuff, but all receipts showed that you purchased them and they were in your home and were yours. You gave him back anything he left at your place in boxes he had bought, but seeing that he was jobless and mooching off of you that was enough to fill one box. But if you bought it with your hard-earned money, and it sat in your house, and you had no need for it, it was getting sold, tossed, or smashed.
So with 3 years gone, and a new love of your life that you’ve been sharing a bed and new home with for the last 2.5 years you had hoped all of this would be over. But nope like clockwork, you’d got these texts, even after changing your phone number 3 times and endless blocked numbers.
They started off angry, calling you every name under the sun, then to saying you should both talk it out, then the crying, then the pictures of him crying, or cuddling up to his new flavor of the month. Followed by texts of him reinstating time and time again that he was over you come the morning after. You never responded and after a bit, it became a running joke between yourself and Gladiolus.
The guy was too afraid of the both of you to ever try anything physical considering you both could destroy him with one hand alone, so he tried mental warfare which wasn’t his strong suit.
So when you went to open this month’s messages to stop getting the notifications from your phone you couldn’t stop the shriek of disgust.
“What he do this time?” Gladiolus asked sitting on the couch beside you.
You turned the phone, showing Glaidolus a dick picture.
“Really? Just send him one back.” Gladiolus chuckled, only to notice that you were suddenly scrolling through your phone. “What are you doing?”
“I thought about yours but that’s for my eyes only.” You responded, before finding whatever it was you were looking before hitting send.
It was honestly nice to have your phone silent for the last few months.
~~~~~
Ignis
You receiving undying support from Ignis, it was one of the things that you adored so much about the man. There were a few things that he didn’t support you on, but that typically was for your own good, like when you wanted nine espresso shots in your ebony.
A  wonderful welcome compared to your ex who thought a woman’s place was in the homestead and as he so delicately put it: Popping out babies, and only standing there to look pretty, to be seen and never heard. Not to mention he had often referred to you as his own personal Oracle, while he was the god you were to serve.
You weren’t even certain if you could call him an ex, considering that it was a pre-betrothal situation by your parents from years ago as a teenager and that after the third meeting with this asshole and a nice glass of wine tossed in his face you were determined to do all you could prove this man wrong. Pettiness was always a good motivator.
The only problem being, he was just elite enough to have a way into most of the royal invites, and being Ignis’s forever plus one and The Citadel’s head Historian you would often get put in lovely situations where you needed to be civil to this overgrown child again and again.
You couldn’t even count how many times he would try to act as if you were both an item, and would often try to joke around with Ignis about how the other must-have you under his boot and that he would take you off of Ignis’s hands should he get sick of you, knowing how much of a handful you were with these crazy ideas of yours.
Thing being, Ignis would have none of it!
If there was anyone who hated your ex more than you it was Ignis, and Ignis could be so much more petty than you.
So tonight when you found yourself, being trailed around the party by him, you attempted to put on a pleasant face and excuse yourself, but this asshole somehow found a way to keep finding you around the party. Attempting to talk his way back into your life and constantly bring up to anyone who would listen to him that you both were once betrothed.
As you were contemplating on either giving him a black eye or bruise rib, you were surprised to instead find Ignis had shoved his way between the two of you, a protective arm around your waist pulling you close.
“Kind Sir, I would say it was a pleasure to see you again, but we mustn’t tell lies. I’ve noticed something this evening…”
“What…”
“Do not interrupt me, as it make you appear, even more, the fool. I would appreciate it that you refine from speaking with or about Y/N for the rest of your meaningless existence, should you not, I will see it that not only yourself but also you family are stripped of any such titles that allow you to grease your way into any social standing, do I make myself clear?” Ignis inquired, he had mastered the look of a pleasant face, to everyone else in the room it must have looked like Ignis was simply have a pleasant conversation with the other man.
“I…”
“It is a yes or no question,” Ignis replied, that tight smile appearing even more so, those green eyes appearing to glow.
A slight nod of the head from the other man was the answer.
“Wonderful!” Ignis perked up an actual genuine smile appearing on his face. “Do have a pleasant evening.”
You allowed Ignis to whisk you away to the other side of the room, “Can…can you do that?” You had already known the answer but you just wanted to confirm.
“Of course, My Dear. Now I have been dying to dance with you all evening, shall we?”
Gods! You loved that man!
“maybe, in another life” kisses: knowing that this is the last time you’re going to kiss them, and making it count. pulling them in and then away. parting, your lips lingering for more. Noctis and one of the chocobros? (Your choice🙂)
Coming up!
Tumblr media
The night had been filled with all the elements of life: sharing memories that had come and gone, both good and bad. Moments of silence and reflection on past deeds and regrets. Laughter and tears shed between four men who loved each other beyond words, having one last camp night before fate and the gods would shatter the bonds of brotherhood.
As the final embers in the campfire disappeared, Noctis felt his own spirit leave his eyes. Like the dying flames, he knew the night would set upon his own light. The final battle with Ardyn--the last of the Lucian kings--was around the corner: eight hours and counting.
He wanted to sleep, but what was the point when he'd soon have all eternity to rest? After confirming Ignis, Gladio, and Prompto were sound asleep, he left his chair and wandered off.
Noctis didn't stray too far from camp due to the daemons running around, but he gave himself enough distance to where he couldn't sense the presence of his friends. Sitting down on the edge of the cliff, he looked out into the desert of the Leide region. A warm wind coursed through his hair like fine fingers cradling every strand. He hoped the end would bring a similar peace. He even prayed the outcome would be the same for Ardyn. The crystal had shown the man's suffering to where Noctis didn't have it in him to hate his great uncle for his transgressions. Although, the thought of Lunafreya and her last words came and went through his mind.
"Soon, Luna…" He frowned, closing his eyes.
"Couldn't sleep either?"
Noctis jumped, turning his head as he saw Prompto's dark silhouette approach. He let out a breath of relief and chuckled. "I could've killed you just now."
"And after that wholesome speech you gave? That would've sucked!" Prompto laughed. He plopped himself next to Noctis, patting him on the shoulder and sighed.
"Is your mind traveling a million miles too?" Noctis asked.
"Yup!" Prompto nodded. "I keep thinking about the what-ifs."
"Dad would've said something along the lines of 'worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.'"
"Did he get that out of a fortune cookie?" Prompto snickered. He let out a yelp as Noctis playfully slugged him.
"Y'know what?" Noctis scoffed, grinning as he turned his head to face him. "I wouldn't be surprised if he did!"
In between laughs, Prompto frowned. "I miss him a lot."
Noctis nodded. "Me too."
"Like…how I'm going to miss you." Prompto somberly replied.
A heavy air sat between the two friends as they both allowed one another to sit with their feelings. A tension had been growing ever since they had set up camp with Gladio and Ignis, and both knew it was coming to a head.
"Do you remember that time we stayed up talking on the motel roof?" Prompto whispered, breaking the quiet.
"Can't forget it," Noctis murmured with a smile. "This feels similar, huh?"
"Yeah," Prompto nodded. He bit the inside of his bottom lip, looking toward his feet dangling off the cliffside and continued. "I have something…just as big that I want to share with you."
Noctis frowned, turning his attention fully to Prompto. "I'm listening."
Prompto closed his eyes, gathering up his courage as he tensed his shoulders. He managed to force himself to look Noctis in the eye, vowing he wouldn't be a coward and swallow his feelings back anymore.
"When Regis told the gang you were getting hitched, I was happy for you. Hell, I was ecstatic when you asked me to come along with you, Iggy, and Gladio to the wedding. At the same time, I felt…jealous. Not only was my best friend taking a huge step, and I probably wouldn't see him for a long time, but also…"
"Prompt…"
"Look, when we lost Luna, I was devastated. I mean no disrespect to you or her. I just…gods be damned I wanted to tell you that I…ever since high school, I…" The words wanted to fall from Prompto's lips, but alas, his cowardice took hold and prevented him from trespassing any further. He sniffled, feeling tears brimming at the corner of his eyes.
"I can't do it…even knowing what's going to happen, I can't tell you how much I--"
That's when he felt it.
Noctis's lips pressed to his.
Eos, fate, and destiny, it all faded away as their mouths met each other's with tenderness. Soft and gentle, but as they both realized the depth of their mutual feelings, the kiss deepened. Emotions that had been bottled up at long last finally saw the light of day.
Prompto's heart pounded in his chest as Noctis pulled away. Breathless with their foreheads resting against one another, he started to cry as his smile grew.
As Noctis retreated a little more, he let out a breath through his nose and somberly smiled as he cupped the side of Prompto's right cheek.
"Maybe in another life," Noctis murmured. "This could've worked."
"Yeah," Prompto breathed, nuzzling his face into his palm. "Whatever happens, at least we had this moment."
"Let's make it longer."
They sat together--hand in hand--looking out at the desert landscape. The future was uncertain, but for now, they had found clarity and comfort in each other, and that was enough.
Promnis and mutual pining?
[Hello anon! I do apologize for this taking so long to respond to. Life got very hectic and my writing slowed a bit, but now I’m back in action! I do hope you enjoy this and it is worth the wait! :3]
“Do you need any help with that?” Prompto asked Ignis nervously, approaching the beautiful man as he began to prepare dinner. He glanced back at Noctis and Gladio briefly, noticing how they’re just sitting around the campfire, doing nothing. Prompto hoped that this would be a chance to spend it alone with Ignis, even if they were still technically in a group.
“If you’d like, you can cut the vegetables,” Ignis replied, looking down at the fish he was filleting purposefully. He didn’t just need to focus on what he was doing or risk being cut. He needed to keep himself from staring at Prompto. Too many times he had caught himself staring at the blond, daydreaming about him. It was entirely unlike him, yet Prompto just seemed to have that effect on him. He couldn’t help it.
“Thanks,” Prompto said, his nerves nearly frayed already. He told himself to take a calming and deep breath, but as soon as he did, he realized that he was asking Ignis to help with his cooking. Prompto couldn’t cook, and he felt like he had just set himself up for failure. Grabbing the knife, he looked at the zucchini and squash nervously, wondering exactly how Ignis wanted it cut. “Um…”
“Here,” Ignis offered as he set his own work aside for a moment. “Let me show you.”
Ignis knew that he could just demonstrate, show him how to cut the vegetables and then get back to his own task. Something within him told him that maybe he should do something different, though. Instead, he stands behind Prompto, wrapping his arms around him and gently placing his hand on Prompto’s hand that is holding the knife. His heart is beating rapidly to be so close to him in such an intimate fashion, but he refuses to let this moment go. Even if it was just him, Ignis didn’t want to forget just how warm Prompto’s body felt against his.
Prompto’s heart was beating erratically as Ignis stood behind him, his long fingers on his hand, his chest pressing into his back. Ignis was so warm, so enticing, that Prompto forgot for a brief moment just what he was doing. But then Ignis fixed the knife in his hand and began to show him how to slice the vegetables. Eventually, Ignis let go, his hands on Prompto’s shoulders instead, as Prompto did it himself.
“I think I’m getting the hang of it!” Prompto exclaimed. Ignis admired the near-innocence in his smile, the way his eyes lit up when he did something well. The sense of pure passion that he got every time he was near Prompto was something that made him envious in some aspects, but it also made him want to covet him.
“You’re doing a great job,” Ignis replied, honestly. Prompto’s cheeks flushed red at the compliment. He found himself wrapped up in Ignis’s praise and ended up slicing his finger. “Ouch!”
Prompto dropped the knife on the cutting board, and Ignis immediately grabbed the kitchen towel on his shoulder and wrapped Prompto’s hand with it. He was familiar with many cuts and scrapes from learning how to cook, and he was even more familiar with just how clumsy Prompto could be. With a start, Ignis realized that his arms were still wrapped around Prompto, that he was holding onto his hand with both of his, a towel wrapped around it to staunch the bleeding.
A flush came to Prompto’s cheeks as Ignis held him there, his breath shallow and anxious. Cautiously, uncertainly, he craned his neck and looked up at Ignis, taking stock of how beautiful he really was. His pouting lips, his jade eyes, his tall and lithe frame. Everything about Ignis was just too beautiful, and Prompto imagined what it would be like to kiss him.
Ignis noticed that Prompto’s cheeks were flushed pink, his freckles standing out even more. The firelight behind them danced in Prompto’s blue and violet eyes, and there was a slight tremble in his lips that took Ignis’s breath away. They were so close. All it would take was for him to close the gap, and he began to lean forward, his lips so very close Prompto’s.
“Use a potion!” Noctis called behind them, startling them both out of their reverie and silent worship of each other. Ignis released Prompto, not bothering to turn around, while Prompto looked at Noctis and Gladio with an embarrassed blush. He could’ve sworn that Ignis was so close to kissing him, but it had to be a dream. Right? “If you’re cut just use a potion. There’s plenty.”
“Here,” Ignis offered as he pulled a potion out of the armiger. Prompto turned to him, biting his bottom lip. Had he really almost tried to kiss the most gorgeous man in Eos? Ignis was asking himself the very same question. “May I?”
Prompto nodded. Ignis gingerly took Prompto’s injured hand in his, and he cracked it over it. The potion did its magic, and Ignis placed his free hand on top of Prompto’s. There was a long moment where they just stared at each other, both of them sensing an unspoken attraction that begged them to be closer than just friends. Neither of them were imagining it, and they both knew that they had to discuss this later on in private.
“We’ll continue this conversation when Noctis and Gladio go to bed,” Ignis offered, hoping that he wasn’t just reading into things. He spoke in a hushed tone, making sure only Prompto could hear him.
“Okay,” Prompto replied, his voice just as hushed. Did this mean what he thought it meant? Did that mean Ignis liked him too? His heart soared at the thought, but he reminded himself not to get too far ahead of himself. “I look forward to it.”
“As do I.” Ignis decided to be just a bit daring, and he leaned over and kissed Prompto on his cheek before releasing him. Prompto blushed bright red, his fingertips brushing against his own cheek, trying to understand just how much Ignis longed for him. “I’ll resume dinner now, if you don’t mind.”
“Sure,” Prompto managed. He sat back down in his chair, his heart racing as he kept glancing at Ignis. As Ignis prepared dinner, he kept glancing at Prompto as well, and several times they caught each other’s gaze. There was nothing to be done for it, and they both knew it. They both longed for each other, and now was the time to put it all out there. The thought of kissing each other excited them both, and they knew it was the moment. It was out there now, and Ignis and Prompto both weren’t going to let the chance pass them by. Not anymore.
The Distraction: FFXV Iggy’s Birthday Fic
Prompto's in on a surprise party for Ignis, and he's been tasked with being the distraction. It's harder than he thought, but he won't let the guys down! (Forgive the Promnis vibes, I'm trash for them.)
Words: 3073 words (10-25 minutes) | Chocobros
Tumblr media
This was it, the big day for their surprise party for Specs... Prompto was in charge of being a distraction, probably the hardest job of the whole thing. He tried telling the others that, but they swore up and down that he could do it, no problem. Riding in the passenger seat next to Iggy like usual, Prompto figured out that was probably because they didn’t wanna do it. Not ‘cause hanging with Iggy was bad or anything, but keeping him distracted when he was designed for laser-like focus was gonna be the hardest thing he’s ever done in his life.
He convinced Ignis to take him along to the Crown City mall half by saying he wanted to check out some places and half by saying he should learn what Ignis does for Noct, so he could be a backup if he needs it. And that only worked by stocking up Iggy points with little favors to make his job easier. Y’know, to prove he could be a good backup!
Which was kinda part of his day-to-day anyway. Iggy worked so hard doing stuff for them all the time, and Gladio and Noct didn’t really do that whole ‘helping with dinner’ thing. But hey, that’s what made it such a good cover story!
“We’ve arrived,” Ignis announced and the doors automatically locked once he put the car in park. The morning sun gave a little extra warmth to the winter air, but he couldn’t complain about the cold when it meant Ignis broke out his sharp, double-breasted wool peacoat. All his friends were supermodels, but he had to give it to Ig, he looked extra good dressed for cold weather. Like the Six knew it when they set his birthday in stone.
“Gotcha,” Prompto answered, springing out of the car with his camera around his neck. Just in case! Never know when you’ll see a shot you just got to take, and it was a great reason to draw out their trip if he had to. Ignis always stopped to wait when Prompto wanted to take pictures, and he was pretty patient about it too.
And really, Prompto was banking on that. They still had to decorate, put the gifts together, make a cake… And they hadn’t even started wrapping yet. Leaving all that to Noct and the big guy felt like a recipe for disaster, but all he could do now was his part. Going at a light jog to keep up with Iggy’s longer, purposeful stride, Prompto followed him into the Crown City mall.
“So! What’s our first stop?” There wasn’t much of a crowd, since it was mid-week. No luck there. Just made Prompto think about how he wished there was more color in their uniform.
“We’ll be visiting just the one shop: a specialty dining store,” Ignis answered and led the way. “There are certain cooking instruments designed for the road that will prove essential on our journey.”
“Hey, Iggy!” Prompto raced ahead of him, eager to get started ‘cause this was gonna eat up hours. …Okay, maybe one hour. For his first distraction, Prompto picked up a cup-like thing with a little curve for pouring, some weird plunger thing, and measuring lines on the side. Turning around with a bounce in his step, he showed the tool to Ignis. “What’s this gadget do?”
“Hm?” Ignis strode over to the table Prompto picked out. Even here, he did the driving and pushed the cart along too. There was a lotta stuff here he didn’t recognize, so Prompto had plenty of ammo to keep his attention. “Ah, that is a milk frother, primarily used for lattes and other such beverages where foam is a key part of the experience.”
“Right, right. Y’know, I’ve never had a latte.” He put the frother down by the others, twisting it so it’d match its family of frothers before he took off after Ignis. “Think you could use it in hot chocolate?”
“You certainly can. I’ll show you sometime.” Ignis had a hint of a smile as he wound artfully through the rows and rows of cooking stuff that was either high-end normal stuff or specialty stuff.
“That’d be real sweet of you,” Prompto shot back a pun, giggling while he followed after Ignis.
Maybe if he wasn’t so caught up looking at grills, Iggy might’ve given as good as he got. Probably better, he did a lot more reading than Prom and that gave him more material to work with. Comparing little portable grills to each other with wordless hums and silent notetaking on his phone, Prompto was pretty sure he could do a dance and get nothing from the royal advisor. Or just a quick glance, anyway.
“Hey, uh, Igster,” Prompto ventured an interruption when he looked just about done. “Isn’t this thing just a slab of salt?” He held up a swirled dark and light pink rectangle about two or three inches thick labelled with just ‘mineral salt block’ on the side.
“It is far more than that.” Ignis finished up a note on his phone, picking up a boxed version of the grill he settled on and put it in the cart. “That is for grilling or stovetop cooking for the right stove, and it imparts a lightly salty flavor with the various health benefits of its mineral composition to—” Ignis sighed, picking up on the overwhelmed look on Prompto’s face. Probably. “It’s good for the food and for those who eat it.”
“Ah, gotcha. So Noct’d hate it, huh? Too healthy.” He put the block down, smiling at Ignis’ laugh.
“It doesn’t feature the same textural concerns Noct has with beans, but… I suspect you may be correct.”
Of course Prom got a text right then, and he hoped it was Gladio or Noct saying everything was fine and ready to go. Pulling his phone out of his pocket with only a little extra flair, he brought up the message from Noctis.
Need more time.
Only one way to answer that. Tossing in an exasperated emoji, he sent back just what he thought of that.
y tho
And the picture he got from Noct was so depressing, it was truly a loss for mankind. What was once gold cake was a bit more brown-and-black-ish, and big chunks of it were still stuck on the pan while the rest was somewhere off-frame. Uh, he hoped.
Noooooct
Thank Gladio.
smh how much time u need
A few seconds turned to a minute and Prompto kept checking his screen every few minutes before Ignis finally spoke up.
“Prompto, do pay attention,” he advised.
“Right, gotcha.” Pockets his phone for the last time. Left on read by Noct! If it wasn’t for Iggy’s birthday, he’d be in for a parade of emojis until Prompto got an answer. Or maybe not, but it sounded kinda fun to do. Trotting to catch up to Ignis again, he started up conversation. “So, you do all this by yourself?”
“Typically, yes,” he answered, though he sounded pleased rather than put out. Even looked the part smirking like that when he pushed up his glasses. “Gladio has little patience for it and Noctis has other responsibilities. It’s only natural this should be entrusted to me.”
“Yeah, but on your birthday?” Oops. He was so not supposed to say that, and Prompto’s stilted laugh when he figured out his slip-up didn’t do anything to throw Ignis off his scent. He even stopped to look at Prompto, examining him for answers. Or maybe it just felt like that and Prompto was worrying too much! He just to chill like Noct said to. Yeah, just… chill.
“I didn’t realize you knew.”
“Yeah, well, y’know.” Crap, he was very un-chill right now. Prompto shrugged, eyeing the shelves next to him for a way out of this conversation. “Noct brought it up, and I guess it stuck.” Gotta find a distraction and quick. It’d just buy time, Iggy’d never forget a slip-up like that, but time was all he needed. Prompto snatched up a waffle iron at the end of a really long stick from a display by the camping stuff. “Oh em gee, check this out! Waffles at camp, can you imagine?”
“If you’re willing to make them one at a time,” he teased with that slight smile, turning back to push the cart ahead. That’s right, Iggy, focus on the to-do list and forget that little blunder from Prompto.
“Aw, I’d never keep up with the big guy,” he mourned, dejectedly returning the specialty cookware to its box and catching up to the birthday guy again.
“Indeed not.”
After gathering the rest of their supplies in preparation for the coming trip in the warmer weather, Ignis checked off the final item in his phone.
“And that concludes our shopping for the time being.” The cart was expertly packed just so everything fit in and was even sorted for putting on the belt in an orderly fashion at checkout. Seriously, Ignis’ brain should be melting from all the stuff he thought ahead on. But Prompto was keeping up with him for now, anyway—maybe he really could be halfway-decent at this back-up thing.
“Really? You do a ton, but you really make it look easy. And that’s not just flattery to distract you, I mean it!” Dammit, he was getting bad at this. Thankfully, Ignis pretended not to notice it. Probably. He doubted he really didn’t realize. Ignis, miss something? Next, it’d rain ice cream!
“I should thank you.” With the last item rung through checkout (Prompto didn’t even dare to look at the total), it was as good a time as any, but so weird. Yeah, Prompto got it, he’d do the same if he were Iggy, but… He laughed, shrugging it off. Like always, Ignis kept going undaunted. “As much as I don’t anticipate I’ll need a substitute for my duty to Noctis, it never hurts to be prepared.”
“Hey, uh. No problem! Least I can do, really.” Prompto was spared being even more awkward somehow when Ignis gave his attention to checkout. Plus, it got him a second to text Noct without spectacles maybe seeing what he was up to if he didn’t figure it out yet.
omw home
Not yet.
Prompto let out a groan, slumping in defeat. The shopping trip was over, Noct! What now?
“Stocking the cart might go more smoothly if your hands were free.” Uh oh, that was the informative warning tone. Ignis was audio-coded to hint at what he was thinking and Prompto was getting a code yellow.
“Uh, right.” Putting his phone away, he helped moved the grill and cooking stuff he didn’t exactly recognize into the cart. They were almost done and Prompto blurted out his only idea before he had a chance to think about it enough to stop. “Actually, wanna go someplace cool after this?”
“Pardon?”
“Y’know, ‘cause it’s your birthday! There’s guys who can take this stuff back to the castle, yeah?” He really hoped Ignis would buy this. He couldn’t be the one who screwed up and ruined the surprise, the guys were counting on him! “Isn’t there a place you’ve always wanted to check out, but never got to?”
“Not especially,” Ignis answered after a brief pause. That mildly wide-eyed look was way too caught off guard… Could it be Iggy never thought about stuff he wanted to do before? Seriously? Prompto wanted to not believe it, but with all the stuff he’s always doing for everyone else under the sun, it’s, y’know… Possible. If not super likely.
“Then I’ll show you around. C’mon, it’s just one day, not even. Two hours.” Ignis pulled the cart to the side and out of the way, which wasn’t a yes but it wasn’t a no yet either. He could still get away with this! Prompto flashed the smile that usually worked on Noct, tossing in an eager bounce to cover his bases. “Birthday trip? Birthday trip!”
“There’s snow outside, Prompto.” This answer was just a little bit weaker, not reinforced with the typical Ignis brand crisp certainty that came with every sentence. And what kinda sharpshooter would he be if he didn’t take this opening?
“So? We’ve got boots.” Prompto bent his knee and held one foot up like he needed to demonstrate. Paired with the grin, he could tell—he was winning this round.
“I have to return to the castle for dinner preparation.” Ignis’ gaze darted to the shop windows and the city guard posted outside. The ones that could take all this back to the castle for them and buy the guys some time before Iggy came back.
“How’s this—you go on the birthday trip you so deserve, let me take a couple cool shoots to remember it by, and I’ll help make dinner.” He offered his hand to Ignis, leaning into his field of vision to get his attention. “Deal?”
With a sigh and a signal the guards outside, Ignis gave in. “Very well.”
“Woohoo! You’re not gonna regret it.”
-----------
After their side trip, they had to get someone to give them a ride and man, was it weird to have Ignis riding in the back seat of a car next to Prompto in calm quiet. Not a bad, awkward quiet—he was so used to those—but chill. He was usually in front too so Gladio could get the extra leg room, so at least being next to Iggy was just like always. Prompto dug out his phone again, sending one last warning text. They’d gotten another hour or hour and a half outta this, he hoped they figured it out.
omw 4 real
“When you said cool pictures, I hadn’t thought you meant literally on the ice.” Ignis only just glanced his way, his face still slightly red from spending time in the cold February air.
“Hey, that pond is a prime photo op!” He slipped his phone into his pocket, swapping it out for his camera. “Check it out,” he offered, bringing up a photo of Ignis in the light, warm glow of the late afternoon winter sun glittering off the ice, a faint plume of his breath in front of him and a delicate blush to his cheeks. Say what you want about the royal advisor, but it’d better be a compliment—he was gorgeous. “My best one yet.”
“Oh, so you collect them?”
“Ah, well, y’see, I—” Shoot. The car was slowing down and he caught a peek of the castle entrance. Thank the Six! “I take pictures of all you guys, yeah? Hey, look, we’re here!” Shuffling out his side, half-stumbling out, Prompto fled to safety. Almost over, this was the home stretch!
-----------
“They keep falling!”
“And whose fault is that?” Familiar voices reached Ignis and Prompto as they worked their way back to one of the smaller, casual family dining rooms in the castle.
“The tape.” Ah, classic Noct. Ignis turned to Prompto with a questioning brow and he just smiled back, nodding him to go first. Nothing left to hide now! Ignis pulled the door open and stepped into the room, which… kinda looked like elementary schoolers decorated it, but hey. Not everyone was a perfect party coordinator like Iggy.
“Gladio? Noctis.” Was that disbelief or patient warnings at the sight of lopsided streamers hanging all the way over to Noctis, who stood on a chair taping the last corner up. For the millionth time, from the sounds of it. Mostly decently wrapped presents sat on one end of the elegant dining table and at the other were three whole separate two-layer cakes and enough fancy takeout for a family of six. “What is…?”
“Happy birthday, Specs,” Noctis said, smiling as he stepped down from the chair and came over with Gladio.
“Didn’t think we forgot, did you?” Gladio clapped his hand on Ignis’ shoulder, his too-perfect smile coming as naturally as ever. Maybe a little more, even.
“I… Suppose this was what the escapades were all about,” he remarked, glancing back at Prompto.
“Whoa, three cakes?!” Gotta change that subject, Ignis, they didn’t know about any escapades! It was just supposed to be errands. But it was their fault he had to draw it out, wasn’t it? Chill, Prompto—chill. “All this food… I’m just gonna have to run more tomorrow.”
“After running around all day today too,” Gladio joked, thankfully getting the hint. Probably.
“What’s this about escapades?” Noct was not so merciful, and that is why Gladio got all the ladies, Prompto thought to himself. Okay, yeah, it was always great to see him smile, just—not at Prompto’s expense!
“Hey, you guys told me to keep him busy!”
“And you did very well. I haven’t been ice skating since Noctis was a boy and that pond was rather scenic.” Ignis to the rescue even on his birthday, what a saint. He did fall into a thoughtful silence, looking like he was trying to find life’s answers in the present pile. “Though I had figured you out by then, of course. I am curious why you kept me preoccupied for so much longer than necessary.”
“Gladio wrecked the cake.”
“Okay, Princess,” he dismissed. “Told you to set the timer.”
“And I told you I was busy.”
“Never heard you.”
“Getting old already,” Noctis said like he was in mourning, giving as good as he got and ducking out of a headlock from Gladio by just a hair. He’d better be faster than Gladio after all that childhood of training with him.
“Regardless of the kitchen mishaps I’ll contend with later,” Ignis got their attention back. “Thank you. I admit, I am at a loss for what else I might say.”
“No big deal,” Noctis answered, obviously proud of himself. “You could start by having dinner. I’m dying to try these skewers,” he suggested, leading the way to the meal.
“Speaking of that, I do believe Prompto owes me a standing offer to help with dinner.” Ignis picked up his own plate and shot Prompto a smile. “An awfully easy suggestion when you know there’s takeout on the table, hm?”
“You don’t have to resort to birthday blackmail, dude. I got your back,” Prompto promised. And snagged a plate of his own, he had to get to this food before the big guy got it all. “Still, though. Uh, happy birthday, Ignis.”
Soft Iggy Fluff
It was so cold in your apartment, the lights off and the television on, the sound low and barely audible. You weren’t paying much attention to it, your eyes barely focused on the blurred colors of the actors nor their expressions. It was some Halloween film, the kind that was lighthearted and fun with bright oranges, cartoonish jack-o lanterns, and children running around.
It was a quiet kind of evening, although there was a slow storm outside, lightning flashing somewhere in the distance and thunder rolling in the background not a moment later.
You felt the cushions next to you dipping as your husband sat down. “Darling,” You heard him whisper, “You really shouldn’t wait up for me at night.” An arm wrapped around your shoulders, tugging you towards his warm chest as his hand pulled a thick blanket over your curled up form.
You hummed in response, letting your head fall against his shoulder. “Only when you stop overworking yourself,” You mumbled, yawning slightly.
He chuckled, handing you a warm cup of tea that he had set aside. “Maybe one day.” His voice was just as soft as yours, and rather than pick up his own cup of tea, he left his hand resting on your waist, keeping you snug against him. “Extra honey,” He added, his gaze soft as you took a sip.
“So sweet of you,” You smiled tiredly, “But not as sweet as when you aren’t overworking yourself…” You added, giving him a pointed look.
Ignis chuckled, leaning down and pressing a soft kiss against your forehead. “Worried for me as always,” He teased, his thumb gently rubbing circles against your arm.
"Someone has to,” You yawned, your gaze returning to the screen as you leaned more into his touch. “No overtime tomorrow, okay?”
Ignis smiled down at you, eyes slightly tired but gaze soft. “Of course,” He promised, having already informed Noctis that he would be leaving early the following day. He planned to spend tomorrow afternoon with you and only you, perhaps making your favorite dinner and dessert before spending a soft evening watching each other’s favorite films together. “Was already planning on it.”
You hummed your acknowledgment, sleepily mumbling a firm, “Good.”
Together, you both rested against one another, tiredly basking in one another’s presence with warm tea and warm hands as the storm outside rolled passed.
KING OF AWKWARD™
especially when it comes to PDA
kissing this dork randomly in public will leave him a blushing mess
or even something as small as holding his hand out of the blue
he freaking loves it
but is still an awkward idiot about it
but you're usually always holding hands
and giving each other quick pecks on the cheeks and lips
him barely being able to stay away from you
and always wanting you in his arms or near him in some way
cuddling forever
and napping 24/7
favourite and most regular dates with his is just staying at home and watching movies
and fangirling about it
or going fishing together
he teaches you all his skills
uses it as an excuse to press his chest to your back and hold your hands
he will occasionally get jealous if you get better at it than him
and you do
"well you learnt everything you know from me so I'm still better at it"
going to all his boring royal events and meetings
it makes them waaaay more enjoyable
him practically always begging you to come
and kissing you for ages to thank you
really playful
you two are basically best friends
so you spend almost all of your time together
making him kinda needy
like when you wake up before him and he just drags you back into bed
being one of the only people he can tell literally tell anything and everything
even weird little things about him
having the weirdest and most trivial conversations with him
and full on debates and arguments about those things
playing video games together
and getting really competitive
like in King's Knight
Noctis getting really jealous when you beat him
but then bragging on the odd chance that he wins
loads of teasing
and sarcasm
and inside jokes
and passive aggressiveness
but that's what you guys love about each other
Noct spoiling you a lot
I mean why date a prince if he doesn't shower you is presents??
doesn't seem very romantic
although he tries
but does always buy you chocolates and flowers
random long midnight car rides in the Regalia
listening to music in an comfortable silence together
getting off anywhere just to sit under the stars with each other
cute teasing nicknames
"prince charming"
"princess"
you both get really used to it after a while though
the others loving you so much
and stealing you away a lot from Noct to hang out
especially Prompto
low key he's jealous of you guys
it's adorable though
Regis being super fond of you too
he thinks you're perfect for his son
he's never seen him more happy
you make him the best version of himself
how could Regis not like you?
whenever you're with him he loses all his stress
it's like he forgets he's royal
he's not Prince Noctis of Insomnia
he's just Noctis
he's yours
and you're his
Chocobos rarely needed a reason to exist within the city walls of Insomnia, but they were mainly there to bring the more country part of Eos to the few green parks that were spotted throughout. Some were even used to pull carriages if people were looking for something a bit more romantic. The moment you found that there was a small farm nearby that raised and bred them, you wasted no time at all to grab at the opportunity to work there.
It wasn't exactly the best pay in the world, but you got to be around something you enjoyed.
Your months throughout working there you saw all kinds of people come and go. Some you could only remember because of something you connected on; others, they were merely problematic and you knew how to avoid any confrontation. However, there was the friend to the prince of Lucis that seemed to come over as often as he could just to look for any and all excuses to enjoy in the birds himself.
Prompto, was it? You were awful with names, and you had to admit, you never heard his around Insomnia that much even if he was a guy who was best friends with the soon to be king. If it wasn't Prince Noctis spoken about you, it was his bodyguard, Gladiolus you heard of often or his advisor, Ignis. It seemed this Prompto guy just kind of slipped into the background of things. You tried not to say anything about it in worry of how that could personally make him feel.
Honestly, it was just nice to kind of have him around. The birds really enjoyed his company, and even the temperamental ones Prompto seemed to know how to handle quite well.
“Heyas.”
The voice was all too familiar to you, making you turn from the chocobo you were washing down for the day to get it cleaned up for a ride about the park. Removed momentarily from the task at hand, you smiled ear to ear. “Good to see you, Prompto,” you greeted, wiping the wet bird dander on the apron you had over your front.
He pivoted forward, tapping his fingertips together. “So, uh, just washing the birds today, hu?”
You gave him a curious look, a lopsided smile still ever prevalent upon your features. “I do this nearly every Wednesday, Prompto. You know that one couple usually rents Piper for the afternoon and evening.” You chuckled to yourself just thinking about it. “Ever since they've been newly wed, it's been impossible to be around them.” Grabbing the hose again, you were mindful of the bird as you tried to wash off the soap that you had scrubbed carefully within her feathers earlier
“Right, right,” the gunman chanted as he inched a bit closer. “Did you need any help with her? I can get the other side if you want me to.”
Prompto would often offer his services for free, but you felt that made your job a bit on the easy side. Never had you told the owner of it, worried of how he would respond. “Well, my day is a bit lengthy anyways. I think it'll be okay if I do all the grunt work and you just talk.” Turning towards him, you tilted your head curiously. “So? What's up?”
“Ah, oh um—nothing special,” Prompto confessed, rubbing the back of his blond hair. “I was just checking in to see how you were doing and wondering when you'd be free tonight.”
He was acting far more jittery than usual. It was odd... like something was on his mind. “When I'm off?” you checked your phone to remind yourself of the time. “I will be off within five hours. Is something the matter? You're acting a bit funny.” In an attempt to lighten the atmosphere, you presented the last comment jokingly.
He nervously laughed, rolling onto the ball of his foot before moving forward again as if to rock in place. “Ah, that. It's nothing big, y/n. I was just hoping we could head out for dinner and video game stuff at umm... at-at my place.”
Now the jitters made sense. He had never offered you to join him at his place, and there it was. “Oh?” The very idea raced through your head, trying to decide whether today would be good or maybe tomorrow.
“I mean—ya know—you don't have to join me!” Prompto quickly sputtered out, his hands open as if to catch any negative criticism you could throw his way. “I was just, uh—offering.”
“You're always so hard on yourself, Prom,” you lightly jabbed, hoping to ease the mood a little. “You know I don't mind so long as you don't mind it's going to be about nine by the time I get out of here. That's not too late for dinner for you?”
A bright, honest smile spread across his lips as he shook his head. “No, no! That's just fine! It's fine...!” He hopped a bit in place as he looked around to see what else he could maybe assist you with. “Umm, well, uh. If you don't need or want my help here, I can just—.”
“I said I didn't need your help,” you playfully reminded him. “I didn't mention anything about saying 'no' to your company.” With the hose turned off, you motioned to the empty chair nearby. “You can join me and at least keep me occupied mentally so I don't go insane.”
He hardly needed to be told twice, and in that instance, he grabbed the chair, spun it around to where he was sitting in it backwards with his arms crossover over the headpiece. “You got it!”
The hours did indeed pass far more pleasantly with him at least around to talk your ear off about the latest video games, manga, and other nerdy things you both could connect on. Being around chocobos, you rarely got that connection with customers. It was nice to have the outlet.
As soon as the final hour was over, you went to grab your belongings and headed back to Prompto's place just near the Citadel. Venturing near the castle always made you a bit uneasy. You felt like you truly didn't belong there and like you would be scolded for trespassing.
“Intimidating, isn't it?” you pondered aloud as your eyes ventured over to the Lucian Citadel in passing.
“Eh?” Prompto's blue eyes followed yours. “Oh, right. That. It can be.”
There was an odd somber tone to him. You weren't sure where it came from, but it had you concerned you said something wrong in that small sentence. “Something the matter?”
He shook his head, waving away your concern. “Neh, I'm fine. Let's get inside, yeah?”
The area in which he lived was an apartment complex mainly for those serving the royal family. You knew Ignis lived there somewhere too but Gladiolus lived elsewhere to your knowledge. Upon arriving at Prompto's apartment, you found it to be quite cozy and welcoming. The kitchen shared a space with the living and eating room while the small hallway you could only imagine led to the bathroom and bedroom.
“You even have a balcony,” you gawked, pointing to the sliding glass door not far away.
“Noct let me have the window view. I feel a bit bad for poor Iggy as he kinda got stuck without much of one.” Prompto tossed his bag off to the side as he stretched to unwind from the day. “He says it's fine, but I think he's secretly envious of me.”
The joking way the last few words were said made you stifle a laugh. It was hard to imagine that man ever expressed any other mood beyond what looked to you as irritation. “So what do you plan on for dinner? I'm a bit hungry after working so many hours today.”
“The one thing I'm great at making,” Prompto teasingly began as he pulled out his phone. “A pizza.”
You chuckled. “You mean ordering a pizza.”
“It's still dinner whether I made it or not,” he jokingly jabbed in return.
Upon the pizza arriving, you both sat down to enjoy it on the sofa while tampering with one of the latest games Prompto had on him. It was a bullet hell type of game that you heard about but you hadn't gotten your hands on. In that regard, you merely watched him play it. However, the way he had been so anxious in just trying to ask you for something as simple as a dinner and a game night made you a bit curious. He was always a nervous and shy kind of guy but you rarely saw him act that way around you as of late.
“So what had you so anxious today, Prom?” It was better to just come right out in ask. You couldn't handle the beating around the bush idea.
Prompto was a bit hesitant in responding, and you blamed it on the fact he was so deep within the game in front of him. That did eventually slow, you noticed, as he hit the pause button to rest the controller in his lap. “Ah, you noticed?” he asked with another small titter.
“Hell, you're doing it right now,” you commented with a raise of your brow. “Is something on your mind?”
“N-No, no...” The words trailed off as he tapped his fingers on the controller at this point. “So, umm, y/n? H-How... What do you think about... umm, me?”
It was a very to the point question, making you jerk your head back in shock at it. “You?” Your eyes looked elsewhere as you gathered your thoughts. “What do I think about you...” you repeated aloud, though the words were more labored in thought.
“Ouch, don't think too hard now.” His words sounded like they were joking but there was also a bit of pain in there.
“No, no, no!” You waved your hands at the negative thoughts he no doubt was putting into his own mind. “It's not like that. I swear! I just. I dunno. There's a lot about you that I enjoy, so why are you asking?”
He moved his lips inward, eyes shifting about as he seemed to be gathering his courage. “Because, uh... I just...” Prompto rubbed the back of his neck, which was starting to get stiff. “Oof, I blew this before, and I really don't want to regret that again. Y/N... I really like you.”
You knew where that line usually went, but you passed it off for now as it was just a kind sentiment. The last thing you wanted to do was accidentally over read the way he had been acting as of late and ruin a good friendship. “I like you too, Prompto.”
“Not like that,” he insisted hastily. “I... y/n... I look at you and all I see is love. You know, I just... I want to be with you... And umm...” Prompto cringed over how scrambled the words were coming out. “Why didn't I write this in a letter or a text or something? I seem to suck when it comes to speaking my mind in public.”
Reaching over, you grabbed his hand and squeezed it hard with a reassuring smile. “It's a lot to take in after a long shift, but I get where you're going with this.” The smile only widened. “And I thank you for even considering me as someone you'd want to be with or at least try to be with.”
He found your words to be dismissive. Perhaps you hadn't noticed how you put yourself down in the ideals of relationships, but he certainly did. “I can easily love you, y/n. You shouldn't let the past hurt how your future is going to end up.” He glanced away again, as if showing he was hiding something from you. “I know that I've let the past nearly ruin my future, and I don't want that to happen again. I feel like...”  He paused, his hands clasped one minute and then separating the next before rejoining as if to constitute the act as a shrug. “...I feel like I can trust you, y/n. I hope you know I'm not kidding when I say I do love you, and I want to love you if you'll just let me.”
There was something in his words that were somber. It was as a faint tone that you couldn't reach. Was it the fear or rejection or something else? “I guess if you want to risk it all with me then...” Actions spoke louder than words. It wasn't a kiss on the lips, but moving swiftly over, you snatched the opportunity to kiss his cheek. “...Then I guess we can give it a try. I'd enjoy seeing where loving you will take me.”
Prompto was shocked by the kiss. His gloved hand over the spot as he rubbed it affectionately while a blush made its way onto his freckles cheeks. “Y-Yeah. Of course! Great!” Even in the moment he wasn't sure how to act or what to say, but hearing that joy come back into him was more than enough to have you feel that this was a right choice to be made.
