you were yuji’s first girlfriend. he had never met anyone else with the same hobbies and also a passion for helping people that rivaled even his. you first met at jujutsu tech as first years. he was too shy to ever talk to you aside from missions and class time though. when he heard which college you would be going to after graduation, he immediately applied to that same school that night. he didn’t know why he wanted to be around you so much, he hadn’t even introduced himself to you yet.

it didn’t matter though, because your bubbly and talkative personality immediately reeled him in. of course yuji had the same major as you, and tried to take as many classes as he could with the same professors. he always admired you from afar, not in a creepy way, but like you were untouchable, unattainable force and he was a fly on the wall.

he couldn’t believe himself when he was placed in a project with you and you both instantly connected. talking to you was actually really easy, it came naturally. or maybe you had that vibe, the aura that makes anyone around you comfortable. of course, throughout the duration of your project you two would make any excuse to hang out, study, revise the project, whatever. it came to a point where you didn’t even bring your laptop or materials when visiting yuji; you just wanted to be around him too.

you tried to be more forward, more direct with him; you could see that although he has a vibrant personality, he needs someone to get the ball rolling before he takes over. so you would ask to come over to his place, and every single time yuji would respond back with his cute ’yes :)’ almost immediately after.

yuji was thrilled everytime you would hang out at his place. he loved watching movies—from comedies to romance, horror and thrillers, and so many more—yuji loved sharing his passion with you. when he found out there was an extracurricular film critique class at your university, he immediately jumped on that; although it’s mostly because you said you were taking that class. he loved the new perspective he could analyze his favorite movies from, and he loved it moreso that you could do it together.

life in a world of curses and jujutsu constantly reminded you both of its presence. when you weren’t working on “regular” schoolwork or hanging out, you were both on jujutsu missions together. when you were done with missions, you would crash at yuji’s place and tend to each other’s wounds if needed. it was a nice respite and reminder that not all of life is solely your ability to protect people, but also these intimate moments together.

yuji never thought you would ask him to be your boyfriend, he thought that was something he had to do. despite this, he appreciated that you were so forward, and he gladly took on that role.  time went on with your usual routine of mundane schoolwork, followed by missions, and then staying at yuji’s apartment.

in any given month you were at his place more than you were at yours. as your relationship together grew, you both thought it natural that you would just fully move in to yuji’s apartment instead of sleeping over. that way you could both start to fully integrate your lives together.

a few months in, you both became busier and busier with solo missions. yuji had been critically injured in his last mission, and no one else was available to accompany you for yours. you might have been too confident in your abilities, but you persuaded the higher ups to let you take on the mission solo anyways. you were always headstrong, charging forward to save whoever you could on your way. yuji always admired that about you.

you gave a kiss to yuji on your way out, patting his fluffy pink hair as you told him you’d be back soon. he believed in you and knew that you always kept your promises.

a little while later, you remember that yuji hadn’t changed the bandages around his wounds. shoko could fix everything, but lately she’s been very busy and yuji’s injuries weren’t deemed critically important enough for her help. instead, he just had to take it easy for a few days while the stitches finished healing. you shoot yuji a text, giving him some extra reassurance and concern for him.

you: hey yuu, don’t forget to switch the bandages. and make sure to wash your hands first!!!! I don’t think this mission will take too long. I miss you :c I promise we can watch something together when I get home ^_^ see you soon, I love you!!!!

yuji checked his phone at the buzz of your text, and replied back instantly:

yuji: okay lovebug. I miss you too c: and ty for the reminder! (salute)

you read his message but got interrupted by your car door being opened and someone instructing you outside. you had this in the bag.

yuji made sure to meticulously wash his hands before changing the gauze and bandages of his wound. he appreciated that you were always looking out for him. you always helped him feel better when he was sick or sad, and he could only hope that he made your life better too.

he busied himself with cooking you a delicious meal for when you got home. he didn’t want you to work yourself any more than you had to, and he felt this was the least he could do to make you feel that much better. he kept obsessively checking his phone, trying to see if there were any new messages from you.

it was starting to get late, yuji had long since set up the table for you two and had the food ready to serve. he sat at the couch, waiting for a call or a text that he didn’t realize would never come.

it almost 10pm, still no sign of you. usually your missions would only last a few hours, not 7. he started getting worried, pacing around the apartment before he grabbed his keys and left towards jujutsu headquarters. he needed some answers. the food he had prepared sat on the table, forgotten and cold.

yuji sped way over the speed limit on his way to headquarters. he was practically running inside the building, looking for gojo or anyone who could explain what had happened to you. he stumbled into satoru, looking up at him and words stumbling out asking where you were “what happened to ___? where is she? is she okay?”

satoru only looked down at him, a weak smile of pity taking over his face. “I’m sorry, yuji… she’s gone. the enemy had more reinforcements than we had planned for, I arrived to her laying on the floor, lifeless.” satoru was blunt, but still brought yuji in for a hug.

yuji’s tears flooded his eyes before rolling down his cheeks and dripping onto his shirt. he cried in satoru’s arms for what felt like eternity.

he doesn’t remember how or when he got home. his mind turned off the moment after he heard the news about you. he can’t remember anything from then until now, where he can only hear thoughts and anger floating around in his head.

he was mad at the higher ups, for letting you go, mad at satoru, for not being there faster. mad at yourself for being overconfident… but overwhelmingly pissed at himself for not being there. if only he hadn’t gotten injured. he shouldn’t have shown anyone his injuries and just endured it. he should’ve done anything if it meant you would not go on a dangerous mission alone.

tears were streaming down yuji’s cheeks once again as he just stood in the doorway of his room, staring at the table that had been set for two. he had no appetite, he would probably throw up if anything even came near him. he turned around and looked into your shared room. he  saw some of your clothes strewn on the floor, your messy and unorganized desk with knick knacks and various papers, and your plushies that you demanded stay on your bed or else they’d ‘”eel left out”. what felt like rivers of tears flowed at this point, and yuji questioned where they even came from. his throat felt like the desert, he was surely dehaydrated at this point. he couldn’t rationalize anything, and chalked it up to the “tear curse” making him feel this way. that made him chuckle for not even a second before he felt even guilty. how could he even laugh at a time like this?

days went on of yuji holing himself in his apartment, staying in bed and just drifting in and out of sleep. every waking moment he was filled with despair and tears as he clutched at your plushies, trying to hold something, anything of yours to comfort him. eventually he would pass out from exhaustion and repeat the cycle again. only when he felt a splitting headache overcome him did he pull himself out of bed to find water and maybe something to eat.

during his waking moments, yuji would check his phone, hoping you had sent something and that this was all a ruse. he started texting you too, in a state of near-delusion, until your phone died and the texts stopped getting delivered.

he felt like he had lost his other half. he only ate a slice of bread when he felt the gnawing pain of hunger in his stomach. he only drank water when he knew he’d probably die without it. all he could do was blame himself for not protecting you. you were seemingly untouchable and unattainable, and he had got you for himself, before ultimately letting you slip through his fingers.

he stopped talking to other people. he didn’t even turn the tv on anymore. he just lay there, staring at the ceiling, waiting for a call or text from you, ending his waking nightmare. he cried when he was reminded of the movie you were both planning to watch the night you came back. he sobbed, waled, and cried out in anger and frustration at everything in existence.

before drifting off to sleep, yuji had one last fleeting thought. “I miss you, ___. I love you, and I want you back home. you can’t leave me, you promised to watch a movie with me.”

I ended up writing two drabbles here haha. The first one is in the same verse as these other drabbles where sqx has a kid and pm is a doting uncle

“But what if he doesn’t like me?” Shi Qingxuan made another loop around the room. “What if he runs off and gets hurt? What if something weird latches onto him?” Pei Ming’s eyes followed him on yet another loop. Any more and he was sure there’d be a hole through the floor. “Qingxuan,” he began. He didn’t have advice, but he could confidently say there wasn’t anything weird out there he wouldn’t be able to beat up. Before he could say anything though, Shi Qingxuan suddenly stopped. “Is this… how my brother felt?” Pei Ming snorted. “Always. Welcome to fatherhood.”

and the second one is just silliness

“This isn’t what it looks like,” Pei Ming started to say, although in truth it was exactly what it looked like. “This happens all the time.” That didn’t make it any better, in Shi Qingxuan’s humble opinion. Her lips curled into a smirk at the sight of the swaddled baby in the general’s arms. “He’s not even mine!” “Isn’t he? That’s what I’m here to figure out.” Sometimes Shi Qingxuan rather liked the cases the Emperor gave her. She intended to investigate the baby abandoned in the Ming’guang temple thoroughly. “If you’re wrong, I’m saying it first: Welcome to fatherhood.”

sqx is investigating as a neutral party, which is to say jw either doesn't know what neutral means or just enjoys chaos. or both.

It's the terms of endearment that make her feel like a flustered school girl on a random tuesday.

An accidental slip of his tongue when he spontaneously mumbles rare forms of praises — it doesn't happen often — but when it does... oh she goes crazy all right.

Like whenever their training and she finally manages to land a solid hit on him?

He grins, completely unbothered that you made his nose bleed.

"There she is... 'atta fucking girl."

Or whenever you solve a math problem correctly?

His crimson eyes scan the worksheet — zeroing in on the unnecessary long equation — giving it a quick once over before handing it back with an invisible smile.

Rubbing your head gently as his fingers caress every spot.

"Finally did it on yur' own hah? Good job baby."

And what about when you show him the little doodles you did in your notebook?

His focus seems to be all over the paper, admiring every little pencil marking and detail he could find.

"Didn't know ya' could draw, looks just like the real thing hun."

Oh! How could she forget his looks of admiration whenever she gave him an outfit of the day?

Giving him a small twirl to show off her new dress — one that he got from his dad's fashion line — only to get five more of the same style a few days later, but in different colors.

It happened so often, she had no choice but to confront him for overfilling her closet, yet his response always stayed the same.

"Hah? Not my fault everything looks great on you, princess."

But her favorite moments?

It's the ones where he speaks of her, when he thinks she's not there.

She didn't mean to eavesdrop — she truly didn't — but when one of their classmates brings up her name, asking him — in a joking manner — why he's always so calm with her, she silently listens behind the wall.

His voice remains unsteady and surprisingly tender.

"Because she's my girlfriend."

Nothing else had to be said.

Those three words could be considered nothing special for anybody else, but to her it held meaning, spoken as if her being his meant just that.

That her being his girlfriend was enough reason to be gentle.

Anyway. I posted a short continuation to my Lickey Mutual Pining fic (2k), based on the prompt: Resolved Sexual Tension (400 words). And it's very soft. But also based entirely on a gif of Lip who can't stop kissing every inch of Karen's skin after sex.

So. I feel like it's justified.

❥ CW: chubby fem reader x buff guy

❥ A/N: hello!! I compiled the first two drabbles of this series into one fic! Im hoping to continue the fics in the future :) feedback is always appreciated!!

It's when he brings you flowers for the third time that you become a little suspicious of his intentions.

"He likes you," your coworker whispers as he leaves. "When are you gonna give him the chance?"

You shrug, putting the flowers on the counter by the register, rearranging them a bit.

"I think he's just trying to be nice."

"Why in the world would he keep bringing you flowers if he wasn't interested in you?" She grabs your shoulder, pulling you to face her. "The next time he comes in, just ask him how he feels. Maybe he'll be more direct and tell you how he feels."

Two days later, he's back, carrying a red bag. He approaches the counter, opposite hand in his pocket.

"The usual?" your coworker asks, but he's not looking at her, staring at you across the room, watching you steam milk. You pour the milk in a paper cup, placing down the pitcher and finally making eye contact with him. The two of you stare at each other, your coworker glancing back and forth before approaching you.

"Let me take over," she says, taking the cup from you and putting on a lid. She leans in to whisper. "Ask him."

You glance at her before looking back at him, running your hands over your apron, approaching the register where he stands.

"The usual?" you ask, and he nods. You click on the screen, bringing up his order. "Anything else?"

"What's your favorite drink?"

You twist your lip, looking up in thought.

"It's a little complicated."

"Tell me."

You take a deep breath.

"Well, I like to get two ristretto shots over ice, add two blue sugars, sometimes I add toffeenut or white mocha, and then I add oatmilk. Or soy, if I want some protein."

He hums.

"One of those too."

You pause, tilting your head quizzically before reaching towards the register.

"What size?"

"Whatever size you get."

You squint in thought, typing in the order. You give him the total, let him insert his credit card, and grab the cups you need. You make his order quickly, placing it at the other end of the counter where he now stands. You work on the second drink, placing it in front of him a minute later. He doesn't move for either drink.

"Is... there anything else I can do for you?"

"Yeah." He pushes the second drink back towards you. "Drink this for me."

"I—"

"And take this." He places the red bag on the counter next to the drink.

"Uh... what is it?" He nods towards the bag.

"Open it."

You hesitate, sliding the bag towards you and glancing inside.

What the fuck what the fuck what the fuck, you think as you reach in and take out a heavy box wrapped in plastic.

"Perfect by Marc Jacobs?" you ask in a whisper. You glance up at him and he's just staring at you, an intense look in his eye. You swallow, peeling off the plastic and opening the box. You pull out the bottle, removing the cap and sniffing.

"Smells nice." You put the cap back on and look at him again. "Thank you."

"You're welcome."

You both stand there silently for a moment before you put the perfume back in the box.

"Did you get this for me because I smell?"

His eyes widen, his hands raised.

"I didn't—"

He stops when you smile and laugh, tossing the plastic in the trash.

"I'm just messing with ya." You see his shoulders loosen as he lowers his arms, a smirk creeping up on his lips.

"Funny."

You move the bag behind the counter, making sure there wasn't a line before returning to him.

"Do you usually buy perfume for girls?"

"No," he replies quickly, finally taking his drink. "Just you."

You hum, grabbing the drink he bought for you.

"Why?"

He swallows his drink, staring at you the whole time.

"Isn't it obvious?"

"Um... no, not really."

He scoffs, putting his cup down.

"The flowers, the perfume... what do you think it means?"

"Uh..." You glance at your coworker who's just leaning against the counter, smiling as she watches the two of you. "I, um... I thought you were just trying to be nice."

"You think buying perfume for a stranger is 'trying to be nice'?"

"I don't know," you reply defensively. "I just don't see why else you would give me stuff."

He leans his hands against the counter, bringing his eyes down to your level.

"You really can't think of any reason why someone would bring you flowers and perfume?"

You pause, then shrug, pouting at him. He sighs, hanging his head before standing up straight, grabbing his cup.

"Guess I'll have to try harder next time."

You scrunch your eyebrows as he starts walking away.

"Try what next time?" He doesn't answer, opening the front door. "Try what next time?" you yell after him, but he's already gone, taking a right and walking down the street.

You're dumbstruck. Your coworker starts squealing and jogs to you.

"Oh my god, the tension was so thick I could cut it with a knife!" She giggles and bounces. "I can't believe my work bestie is being pursued by a guy like that!"

"He's not pursuing me." She groans, throwing her head back.

"Alright, sure, keep telling yourself that. Meanwhile he'll keep bringing you flowers and then it'll be chocolate and jewelery and–"

You zone out, not paying attention. You glance at the drink he bought for you, wondering.

"He's coming!" your coworker whispers to you, bouncing for a moment before regaining her composure as he walked through the door. He approaches the counter, glancing at her before staring at you. He's carrying a bouquet of roses and a red box wrapped with a white bow.

"You're here for her, right?" she asks, pointing at you. He nods, and she turns, giving you two thumbs up as she walks past you, moving to the other side of the coffee bar. You pause, unsure, but eventually make your way to the register.

"Your usual?" you ask, but he shakes his head.

"Not today." He hands out the flowers and box. "For you."

"I..." You don't know what to say, so you just take the gifts, giving an awkward smile. "Thank you...?"

He nods towards the box.

"Open it."

You try not to show how nervous you are, putting down the roses on the counter. You peel the white ribbon from the box, taking off the red lid.

"Holy fuck?" you whisper, putting down the lid and pulling out a string of pearls. "What is this?"

"They're pearls."

"Yeah, I can see that, but why are you giving them to me?"

"Do you not like them?"

"No, I do like pearls, but–" You put the pearls back in the box, staring up at him. "Why are you giving them to me?"

"So you can wear them."

You roll your eyes.

"What? No, really? I thought I was supposed to eat them."

He smiles.

"You're funny. I like that."

You sigh, putting the lid back on the box, setting it down on the counter.

"Look, you've been really nice, but I don't think this is appropriate."

He glares.

"Why?"

"Well," you start, fiddling with your fingers, "I don't think your girlfriend would like you giving me all these things."

"I don't have a girlfriend." You blink.

"Well, I don't think your boyfriend would—"

He laughs, deep and gruff. It makes your stomach flip in the best way.

"I'm not into men."

"Then... well, why would you—"

"Look," he starts, leaning against the counter. "I want you to wear those pearls. I want you to wear the perfume I got you too. I want you to wear them to dinner with me."

Your cheeks burn. You swallow hard.

"W-Why do you want to have dinner with me?"

"You'll see." He stands up, reaching his hand out. "May I see your phone?"

You hesitate, but reach into your pocket, unlocking your phone and handing it to him. He takes it gently—holy fuck his hands are big—and taps at the screen for a little while. He hands the phone back to you, smirking at you. You read the screen, seeing his phone number and contact name: Future Husband 💕.

You sputter, wondering if your face could burn any hotter as you look up at him.

"Send me your address: I'll pick you up on Friday at seven."

Before you can respond, he turns and walks away, leaving the coffee shop. Your coworker squeals behind you.

"Oh my god, girl! I am totally living vicariously through you."

You huff, changing his phone contact to something more sensible.

Inspired by some other gorgeous individuals, I thought I'd try and compile some of my weekly reading into some kind of list. Since throwing myself into the Marvel fandom and actually writing for these characters rather than just reading, I've followed - and been followed by (cue fangirl shriek) - some epic blogs, and I want to be able to throw as many new readers and followers their way as I can.
