(A/N: Okay so we had a House Martell music task...well, I want to do that for just Oberyn. 1. What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?)

It depends on what you like, SFW or NSFW. But I will always be most proud of Finders Keepers and I want everyone to read it, so I'm biased.

8. What song would make a great fic (to either write or read)?

Ohhh I would have a really hard time choosing but two that come to mind right away are "These Things" by She Wants Revenge and "The Chauffeur" by Duran Duran. Of course I just finished a short story with those on its playlist.

13. Are there any tropes you used to like but don’t anymore?

Honestly, no! I think any trope can be really interesting if you give it the right spin, even the most tired ones. I guess if I had to choose one I'd choose, like, those x reader things with timid/meek readers. I can't relate to those readers at all.

Calibration Art Exchange 2023

So excited to participate this year! Journal entries for my two OCs (V'neef Runai and Flickering Lace) under the cut.

V'neef Runai

Runai is 5'10" with a ruddy complexion and dark circles under brown eyes. He usually keeps his shoulder-length straight (dyed) blond hair at least halfway tied back. He usually wears 2-3 heavy rings on each hand and has several small black metal rings in his ears and one in his nose. His clothes are well-made but very generic and frequently covered in cat hair.

At 17 years old, he'd stopped hoping for a second breath until he exalted while attempting (unsuccessfully) to save his cousin/rival from a fatal accident involving an experimental artifact their parents were working on. A month later, he found himself enrolled in the Heptagram in an effort to keep him out of the way during the subsequent investigation into his cousin's death.

His anima rimes the surrounding area with salt crystals and his hobbies include lying to teachers, cheating at gateway, and walking the mile in gym class. Thematically, he's about what happens when you can't let go, making your misery everyone else's problem, and dying on every available hill.

The cat is Salu (short for Salutatorian), Runai's familiar/ESA. Until recently, she belonged to his cousin but none of the servants stopped Runai from taking Salu off to school so... finders, keepers?

Flickering Lace

Flickering Lace is a small absent-minded woman with perfectly tailored clothes. She looks to be about 20, with sharp features, tan skin, and heavily-lidded bright blue eyes that never seem to look directly at you. Lace wears large silver spectacles on a sparkling lanyard and her wavy indigo hair is kept short to highlight the dangling earrings she favors. Her deeply calloused hands are always in motion, fiddling something or working some small craft. Unless she's alone in her workshop where she uses them as references, she dresses to hide the moonsilver tattoos that cover her arms and legs, forming guides for measurements and angles, curves and lines.

A firm pacifist, failed smarthome builder, and master crafter, her attempt to lie low in an obscure southern oasis and work on perfecting her living manse was spoiled by the arrival of the rest of the party who are... not good at 'subtle'. Her current plans include overthrowing Gem through dream magic, disentangling herself from her First Age incarnation's romantic drama, and continuing to solve everyday problems by turning into a camel.

General disclaimer: This is not meant to be a 1:1 to my roleplay portrayal, even if it can be used as a reference for choices and just as a general “people can watch this if they are interested/wanna know Wren/the game more” fun thing. In gameplay, I tend to exhaust dialogue options; for a lot of asking questions, Wren actually would already be aware of the answers so sometimes it’s more about wanting to show the dialogue (for people not familiar with the game) and gaining XP, other times (mostly when conversing with people about their personal experiences) she asks about things she is aware of because she wants the story from the person themselves (e.g. she might know something about someone else’s culture, but she's going to ask anyway if the questions are welcome, to learn directly from the other person), and to show care. Also, gaming dynamics obviously have their limits.

I record everything. I edit out redundant getting lost on the map (happens a lot more than you might expect), repeat dialogue, and/or speed through leveling up, modding equipment, etc. If I am reading something while playing, I keep the text in my edits for long enough for me to be able to read (I’m a slow reader). Stuff less relevant to the story, such as planet descriptions, I keep in the video but only very briefly so that the information is there and readable if the video is paused.

I mainly record for my own reference/screencapping etc. purposes.That’s why there also are no subtitles, though I will record clips I specifically want to share with subtitles on.
