Most of my posts come out of things I have either struggled with in the past or currently am working on. If I listed all the things I write about that I struggle with that may just be a blog post in itself! I want to be a better person and I hope you can join me in this journey. Today I want to share about when we need to admit that we were wrong and say we are sorry. This is something we try to teach kids from a very young age but then when we are adults we are often completely unable to even recognize situations it would apply to. We fight and argue and all we really needed to do was say we were sorry and admit we may have been wrong. In the beginning of my marriage I really struggled with this and although I have gotten better I still need a good reminder from my wife from time to time. Spending even a second of your life hating someone is such a waste! So often we use a lot more than a second on hating someone and as the Bible says that creates conflict in our lives. Not just with the individual we hate but in general having hate in your heart causes trouble in your life, we need to get it out! If you have hate, work it out, with that person or with yourself but you have to get it out of your heart or else it will plague you with trouble and conflict. Why do we base our self worth on what other people say? Why do words have so much power in our lives? People should be fully invested in our lives and futures before their words hold any power in our lives. We need to protect ourselves from the negativity of those around us and not be affected by the words that are so often shot like fiery arrows without a second thought. This world tends to beat us down and make us feel like garbage. Like we don’t matter and as if our lives are not valuable. I see it constantly and it makes me angry. Look at all of us, how complicated our bodies and minds are and how many questions are out there that we don’t have the answer to yet. Any one of us could be the key to answering the next big question in life. We truly have no limit in what each of us can accomplish but it's important to feel like we matter and that our life is valuable. I am going to stand up and say you are valuable, you matter and I don’t care what anyone else has told you about yourself. If they don’t think you are important then they are a liar and they don’t deserve to be around you. I am pretty passionate about this and this blog post goes into it more.
