Cynthia has always been one to praise you whenever she sees fit (which is always), but she can’t seem to hold her tongue when it comes to interviews. At least she’s always willing to indulge you after putting you through such embarrassment.

“So, a little Starly recently told me that you were thinking about taking a vacation to the Alola region. Do you have anything to say about that?” 

“Ah, well, there isn’t much more to say about it other than it’s true. Being champion is my passion, but everyone needs a break now and then. Besides, I’ve been meaning to check out the Battle Tree, and I’ve been sorely missing quality time with my wife.”

“The Battle Tree, huh? I’ve heard that the trainers are quite formidable, especially the battle legends leading the whole operation. I suppose that’s a kind of challenge you won’t find anywhere in Sinnoh!”

“Indeed, it’s been quite some time since an opponent has backed me into a corner. The thrill of battle spurs me on, but exploring the region is also a must. The island challenge feels a bit beneath me at this point, but the beaches are quite alluring, especially with beautiful company.

“And the apparel shops are simply darling. Most of the options are not my kind of style, but I can’t help but want to pick a few things up, anyways… Ah, but my darling beloved, now she would look wonderful in them. Afterall, she looks gorgeous in any and everything she wears.

“But whenever I see any kind of cute clothing, I can’t help but see her in them. Especially outfits for the warmer climates, since I see her in them so rarely with how cold Sinnoh is and all. Alola certainly won’t be the first time I end up purchasing clothing for her on a vacation, but that just leaves what I should get for her this time…”

“Oh yes, I must agree. Alolans are quite fashionable! From adorable to elegant… everything seems to look good. Your wife sure is a lucky woman to have someone such as yourself as a vacationing companion. Is there anything else about this trip you are looking forward to?”

“Besides that… I am looking forward to exploring the ruins. From what I’ve read, there aren’t many mysteries surrounding them, especially in comparison to ruins in other regions, but I don’t think I will be able to keep myself away from them…”

The TV remote clatters to the couch cushion with a soft thud. You're not sure why you keep up with Cynthia’s interviews when they always end with you becoming far too flustered for your own good. This was far from the worst she’s ever gushed before, and yet it still gets you all the same.

And speak of the devil, the moment you lean back into the cushions, the front door creeps open, followed by the gentle clacking of heels, accompanied by less-gentle thuds. She leans over the couch, arms laying over your chest and head perched atop of yours.

“Hello, dear…” She practically purrs. You can’t see her face, but you can hear the sweet smile on her lips from her tone alone. Garchomp sidles up to you, forcing your arm over her flat head in the hope that you would pet her. You mumble out a ‘hello’, yet to overcome your embarrassment.

“What were you watching? I could have sworn I heard the TV on when I was unlocking the door…”

“Your interview from the other day.”

“Oh, you saw it already? I wasn’t expecting to be asked about Alola, but I suppose it was going to come up eventually.”

“I, uh, just caught it, actually and… (Azelf, give me strength) I turned it off after you got off track talking about… me. I know that you think very highly of me but… it gets embarrassing watching you talk like that… especially when Arceus knows how many people are going to see it.”

“Aww, really? And here I thought I managed to tone the gushing down for once.” You know that Cynthia gushes because of how deeply she loves you, which makes your heart pound with both love and embarrassment, but the teasing tone lacing her words allows the embarrassment to outweigh the former.

“Besides, it’s not as if I was lying… I’m looking forward to seeing your adorable self on all sorts of tropical backdrops.” She moves her hands to your face, squishing your cheeks softly. 

“Is it so wrong of me to want everyone to know how much I care about you? I just can’t help myself when I’m so easily reminded of you… “ Her voice wavers from teasing to soft, each word barely above a whisper.

“The fact that I get to call you, someone so beautiful and caring and intelligent, my own… It doesn’t feel real sometimes, that someone as wonderful as you exists, and is willing to stay by my side, no less!”

Her words feel far too much, far too praise-filled, borderline reverent. You place your hands on her own, feeling the heat radiating off your face through her skin. Your body was boiling, yet you couldn’t help but yearn for her warmth, both her body and her words. Yet all too soon, she begins to pull away.

“Well then, how about I get cleaned up and pick us up something to eat? It’s only fair that I treat you to something nice after putting you through so much embarrassment, right?” You can only respond with a feeble nod.

She leans over and gives you a quick peck on the forehead before pulling back completely, presumably going to your bedroom to clean up, leaving you to huddle into yourself (and the Garchomp practically sprawled out across your lap). 

In interviews, Cynthia would always find new ways to embarrass you with her off-track side tangents, and in private, she would always find new ways to set your heart aflame. 

But while her seeming unending love for you would make you beyond flustered, it would always lead to her treating you to whatever your heart desired. She could be teasing, and she was sure as hell embarrassing, but it was certainly worth putting up with once it was all said and done, leaving nothing but the sweet, endearing Cynthia ready to melt your heart away.

Which Horse was your first purchase? Do you still own that horse, and what did you name it?

so when i started playing sso (2017?) i occasionally saw people ride this horse, i still remember being in moorland as a n00b and stopping in my tracks to look at it bc i was blown away:

im weak for "lighter mane colour than coat colour" horses and this one has a unique colour so it really stood out to me. plus, im a friesian enjoyer as far as irl horses go, even if sso friesians have never been quite right to me (including this one).

so i googled where to get this horse, okay, new hillcrest. i told myself: thats the horse i want, i dont need to buy any other horse until i can get it bc i dont care that much about any other horse ive seen so far anyway. (i obvs didnt have much sc, since id just started) i had no idea how long it would take to get to NH at this point lol.

then i play for some time and i get to firgrove (i think that was where it was at least). and im met by......

.... this guy who i just love. hes so cute. i stare at him and question if i have to stick to my decision to save up sc for the friesian. eventually i decide that it seems like its a long time until i unlock NH anyway, so its okay if i get him in the meantime.

so he was my first bought horse, and it was a great decision bc then he was my main (very beloved) horse for a long time. his name is Snowspell but i also call him Pelle (swedish name). this was also before the starter horse got gen3'd, so Pelle just looked better than Winterborn dsfgkjdfs... but i rode him all the time and loved him so much.

eventually when i got to NH, i think id bought at least one other horse (the blue old magic horse), and also, when i actually was face to face with the friesian i wanted, i realised i didnt like it that much. i felt like the face wasnt that pretty, and overall it looks a bit plasticky like a toy. i did buy one (shes called MorningDream, i think maybe shes called Morning Sun in my brain tho) and then just didnt ride her at all basically..... until 2-3 years ago when i suddenly realised that i love her with red tack on, she looks like a beautiful christmas toy horse, so we got a happy ending too.

Which Horse is your favorite? Do you own said horse, or are you simply dreaming of buying it?

basically Winterborn my starter is my emotional favourite like, he doesnt have the best model, but i cant imagine not having him (or a replacement for him if they released another horse that has the same colour and vibes, to take over the title of heart horse vessel).

at the moment my non-starter favourite is my ardennes Meatball (registered name Walnut) and im really frustrated that hes not good for champs bc i want to ride him all the time. i have a lot of beloved horses though so i will just leave it at current obsession and heart horse for now.

Which Breed is your favorite? Which Generation is it from, and why do you love it so much?

it might be the ardennes. the appaloosa is also up there. in general i seem to like Nomi's horses bc they have the most personality, both in the model and animation, and also in the small details in the coats, all together it makes them feel more alive. i dont like the ones that lack interesting mouth / tongue / eye / nose animations, and i dont like ones that have too undetailed coats (which looks plasticky to me). also i love hairy horses so ardennes hits a lot of points for me.

i want to make a post about my horses in totk

first these are my horses that transferred from botw. i specifically found them for the purpose of naming them each after characters from moon knight comics if you couldnt tell. i did have an Alraune but gave her away to a woman in need, i believe she is in good hands now. i did not use these much in totk because i wanted new horses to recreate the original botw experience

so in central hyrule soon after landing, i found a cute little brown horse :) i decided to bring it to the stable near lost woods/base of death mountain, but we ran into a problem trying to cross the bridge… it was brand new and untrained, and we ran too fast towards the bridge, and ended up missing it by a hair and careening straight into the river. i turned and saw the poor horse struggling to stay above water, and then disappear… i was so struck like i cant believe i just killed my first horse so quickly this has never happened… but as i climbed somberly up the cliff, i saw the horse standing right there in front of me. at that moment i knew i had to name the horse Ben and (very carefully) took it to the stable to register my haunted ghost horse

next is Big Larry. i think i found him on a beach somewhere. i had never actually found a giant horse before so i was excited. he looks very intimidating but i imagine hes a sweetheart

then i wanted another normal horse who was a bit faster than Ben so i found this handsome black horse. i wasnt feeling very creative at the time so i called him Lil Larry to contrast Big Larry

now for the Legendary giant albino (?) horse which was part of a quest. when it came to naming her i was surprisingly stumped. of course i wanted to give her something regal and majestic, so i named her Oxy-Clean

Finally, zelda's beloved horse… i found her early on but kept the best for last. she looks so silly. i gave her a haircut and eventually built a comfortable little stable outside my new house to keep her nice and happy and healthy for when zelda got back. she is truly a gem. im dying to know what zelda named her but i went with Honey

Aila was 18 and a little.

People judged her because she didnt want to act like a "big girl" is how her judgemental parents put it but she saw no wrong in what she wanted.

She wanted to be herself and to have fun but more importantly... To feel wanted.

And that soon came 9months ago when the love of her life walked in her music shop and changed everything for her.

Flashback...

The bell above the door rang meaning someone has entered to buy something or just to look.

In came a group of tan boys laughing and horse playing a little but stopped soon to look at records.

Aila sat quietly, she didnt even say welcome. She wasnt trying to be rude she just didnt want the attention right now.

Not after her parents ranted and raved about how she dressed like a child to work today.

She wore a lilo and stitch shirt and white over-all's with blue sneakers and her shoulder length brown hair in big pigtails as her bang hanged.

All she wanted was to be her self and her parents didnt get it.

The slim buff tan guy (Embry) went near the indie records while a huge buff man (Jacob) walked near ths rock records.

Then she notice a boy that was really beautiful looking to her (Paul) almost everywhere like he didnt know what he was looking for.

He wasnt super slim like the first guy but wasnt huge like the other one, he was still bigger then her 5'0 figure though.

He stood about 6'8, pretty plump lips and had a jawline as sharp as glass.

Aila didnt release she was staring until the boy started back but with... love?

All of a sudden the girl felt this tug on her frame that pull her to him.

She cleared her throat and pretended to be busy with the register so she wouldnt be so obvious but she was to late.

The trio of boys walk to the counter with their records in hand and placed it there to pay.

"Will this be all?" Aila asked glently.

Her voice broke chills down Paul's back, he wondered how ones voice could be so soft.

"Yes"

"I like your shirt" the mystery boy spoke.

The two boys next to Paul was kind of was surprised that he was complimenting a girl instead of getting her number first or sleeping with her.

I mean, thats what the young jock was best for in and out of school.

Aila blushed lightly as she rung up the last record for the boys.

"Thank you..." She said locking eyes with Paul again, once more feeling that tug to be near him.

"...umm that'll be $30.45" her cheeks were now the same color of the brightest red apple.

Jacob handed her $40 but told her to keep the change.

"Thank you" she said handing them the bag with their things in it.

"No, Thank You!" Jacob said winking at Paul and laughing with Embry.

'Whats funny?' She thought and tilted her head.

Paul knew he imprinted but he definitely didnt like how his friends were making a joke of it.

Jacob and Embry left out the door still laughing leaving Paul and Aila to them selfs.

"Sorry... Bout them, they're weirdos" Paul said still mugging the door as if his friends were still there.

"Its fine, I'm Aila, Aila Yorkman" she said sticking her hand out for him to shake.

"Paul, Paul Lahote" the wolf said taking his huge hand to shake for small one.

Paul now knew she was a little and took it with joy, Aila thought he would be weirded out by her.

But she was happy he wasnt because if her own soul mate didnt accept her then what would she do.

Aila also now knew about the pack and vampires, she couldnt lie when and say she wasnt stuck when she released she had been kissing and hugged up with a hot headed , 6 foot wolf.

When they're with the pack Paul tends to be on egg shells.

Not only because he knew they're heightened strength and didn't want the boys to overpower her small figure but because they're dorks too.

He also added to NEVER make jokes about her being a little because she was sensitive to the subject.

None the least, everyone welcomed the little in to the pack with opened arms.

Especially Emily, Emily looked at Aila as a daughter figure and couldn't stand the way her parents treated her all because of what she was.

So with no questions asked Emily happily took on the role as a mother figure to the small girl.

Aila stood on her tippy toes trying to get the can of peanut butter from the top shelf.

She had been trying to reach it for the past 4 minutes all by herself.

Paul was on patrol so it was just her in the house they shared not to far from Emilys with they're husky puppy named Julie.

Paul insisted that his imprint moved in with him after her parents burned all of her "childish" shirts and called her nothing 4 months ago.

He couldn't stand the way his lover called him at 4 a.m. with tears streaming down her face.

His heart broke in two, in the matter of 5 minutes he was at Aila's window and since then they've live together.

The small girl finally stop trying as tears brimmed her eyes.

"Oh my gosh, come on" she whined.

Her last resort was to call somebody because if she got on the counter she would be scared to jump down.

The counter was pretty tall for a barely five foot girl.

"Daddy" she mumbled repeatedly as she search for her phone.

After 3 minutes ahe finally found her phone and dialed Pauls number.

Paul walked through to woods with Embry , Quil and Jared as he felt his phone vibrate as to say someone was calling

He looked at his screen to see 'little wolf🐺' spread across it.

He answered on the 3rd ring.

"Whats wrong pup" he spoke now coming to a stop.

Jared stopped and looked at his bestfriend as Embry and Quil continued to search for anything out of place.

"D-daddy i cant get the jar a-and-" she said now in tears because she was just a emotional girl and she was hungry.

Jared chuckled and shook his head when he heard his pack sister cry because of her short people problems.

"Wow, princess. Breathe"

He heard her tiny hiccups as Jared gestured for him to go to his imprint.

Paul gladly went to see why his baby was crying.

Summary: Thomas shelby patches you up after the attempt assassination.

You anticipated the car ride to be long. But it was quite short. Granted you were dozing off from the fatigue and loss of blood so maybe to did take longer than what you believed. You woke up with ripped cloth around your hand and arm. The areas that were bleeding the most. Thomas helps you out of the car, he held you by your elbow, keeping you steady as you walked. You notice the lack of his jacket. You were too tired to object to his help. You brace yourself for Ada’s yelling and look of disappointment when you realize your not even in London. You’re in front of a pub the sign reading the Garrison. 

 “Where are we?” You ask

 “Birmingham. Lads take care of him” Thomas and you head inside the empty bar together. You hear the muffled cries of the assassin being dragged away, “(Y/N) take a seat.” He takes off his holster throwing it to a farther chair and rolls up the sleeves of his shirt. He disappears to the back.

 You take a moment to look at your surroundings. The pub looked to you as if it was under some construction. You yawn. Thomas comes back with a handful of supplies and bottle of alcohol in his arms.

 “You don’t have to do that Mr. Shelby. If you cant drive me back, Ill take the train to London.”

 “Let me see your hand.” He dips his tools in the alcohol

 You give it to him, not wanting to be stubborn. He unwraps the cloth to reveal the ugly gash underneath. You hiss in pain as he pours the alcohol over it. He hands over the bottle to your good hand, you take a swig of it immediately. The adrenaline from your body was gone and everything was beginning to hurt.

 He concentrates deeply as he begins to stich your hand together.  

 “I’ve already called Ada. Told her you were staying here.” He states.

 “She’s gonna have my head.”

 “She will forgive.”

 You sigh, wishing for the day to be over, “Does the horse have a name yet?”

 He pauses, “…Graces secret.”

You can feel the effects of the alcohol run through your body as your mouth begins to run without your brains approval, “Who inspired that one,” You blurt out before your eyes widen. You can feel your intestines cringe on the inside.

 He doesn’t answer or pause his work or look you in the eye. He just continues stitching your hand.

  You begin to ramble, “I’m sorry if that was too personal.” You say quietly.

 “Its just a name.” He says, “Let me see your arm.”

 You pull the sleeve of your dress down, the gash just as bad as your hand. Thomas pulls his chair closer to you. You begin to be very aware of him. Your knees felt like they were on fire as they touched his. You were so close that you were less than an arms length away from touching his chest.

 ‘stupid alcohol.” You think to yourself trying to distract yourself with something in the room. You had the urge to touch him, a feeling nonexistent when you were sober.

 “You shouldn’t have walked away on your own” He sates. You can feel his breath hit your arm.

 “I’ll remember that for next time.” You sarcastically say.

“I’m serious.”

 “I don’t work for you, Mr. Shelby.”

 “That could change.” He says.

 You ignore his words and decide to watch as he carefully stiches your arm his eyes not moving away and he pierces the needle in and out of your skin like a professional seamstress, “Where did you learn to do this?” you ask.

 He clears his throat, “My mother taught me to sew. Came very useful in France.”

 “…You served?”

 “Aye. I was a Tunneller”

 He finishes with your arm and leans back in the chair. You take another swig of from the bottle.

 “So whats next for you?” He asks.

 “Sleep, Mr.Shelby.” You say.

“I’ve told you call me Tommy.”

 You shake your head and smile. You weren’t quite comfortable calling him by his first name. It wasn’t him, it was just ingrained into you to call men by their last name. You father taught you that when talking to men like this you had to remember they were not your friends. It was one of the things you valued from learning from your father. A lesson you would take to the grave. There was only one time you didn’t call a man by his last name. Billy Kimber. You were young and defiant against your father. You had said a few to no words to the man. You did use the name Billy to address him. You regretted the minute you did because after it was unwanted, constant flirting. It got so bad you had told your mother, fearing that the man would go to far. Your father ended business with him because of it, blaming you for the failed partnership.

And talking to Mr. Shelby was easy for you. Too easy. You were constantly watching what you were saying but sometimes you just said too much.

‘Its his eyes.’ You think to yourself. Those dam eyes. They looked tired but the glow still glowed with life. You were very infatuated with them. You had never seen a color quite like it. You notice his lips moving but you don’t register whats being said.

 “What?”

 “I asked, if you know May Carlton.”

 “mmm So she introduced herself?” You giggle to yourself recalling the way she was staring at him.

 He tilts his head, amusement swimming around his face, “Whats funny?”

 “Oh c’mon you didn’t notice how she was staring at you? The girl wanted to eat you up.” You lean forward to grab the bottle again, but Thomas grabs it before you.

 “I think you’ve had enough.”

 You pout and lean back in a huff.

 “What do you know about her?” He asks

 “Are you asking me so you can ask her out or use her?” You ask

 He raises an eyebrow and smiles at you. Even in a drunken state you were still sharp as a tack.

 You sigh at his silence, confirming what you knew, “She has a lot of influence and respect with a lot of important people.” You choose your words very carefully.

“More information would be helpful.”

 “I’m sure you could your own research.” You say feeling drowsy. He notices and stands up from his chair.

 “C’mon, I’ll drive you home.” He says leading you to his car. your out like a light before he even starts the car.

You wake up disoriented and nauseous. You panic not recognizing where your laying at until you remember that your Adas house. You sign in relief and sit up. You were on the couch, still in your blood stained dress. Your right side of your body was sore as you walked to the kitchen, hearing talking and movement. You open the door to see Ada, Karl, and a man at the table eating breakfast. They all turn to look at you once you enter.

 “(Y/n), your up!” Ada says wrapping her arms around you to hold you. After your hug she immediately starts yelling at you. You stand there like a child getting scolded by her mother.

 Once her reprimanding is done she introduces you to the unfamiliar face, James, who was now your new roommate.

 “You would have met him yesterday, if you didn’t decide to run off with my brother.” Ada mutters under her breath.

“Did he leave me anything?” You ask remembering you were suppose to pay for your services.

 “Its in your room.”

 You excuse yourself from the table and drag your feet up the stiars. You see a thick envelope on your bed with your name on it. You open it slowly revealing a large wad a cash and a note. It reads:

 y/n, we’ll be in touch – Mr.Shelby.

 You smile at the little note and place it underneath your pillow while the cash gets placed underneath your mattress. You look at yourself in the mirror. You were a mess head to toe. Your hair a bird’s nest and the skin on your face and arms littered with little cuts all around. And the right side of your body was very noticeable with the large stiches

 ‘that’s gonna scar’. You think to yourself as you prepare for a shower.

 Today, with the worlds biggest hangover over your head, you had an agenda. You were gonna do as Thomas Shelby said and find your fathers death records.

“let’s stop here.” katara pointed past appa’s dangling feet. “we need some more food.”

“you sure?” sokka opened his eyes, coming out a light nap. he peeked over the saddle, glancing at the earth kingdom town below. “it looks like there’s a lot of fire nation.”

towards the walls of the small town, sat red carts led by ostrich-horses. blobs of maroon could be seen moving through the streets periodically.

but this was no surprise. the gaang realized that most of the western earth kingdom cities would be inhabited by fire nation. whether it be small or large, military rushed into villages, taking & destroying what they wanted.

so many times, sokka & katara had to pull aang away from these places. he wanted so badly to help those in need: protect children, give food, & release taken servants.

“i think we’ll be okay. katara’s right about the food anyways,” aang chipped in, ever the optimist. he pulled on appa’s reigns, heading down to the ground.

after walking through the town, the gaang had a sack full of food & of course sokka bought a small totem of the town. as they made their way to the town gate, someone cried out behind them.

“hey!” you yelled as you crashed down on the dirt road.

you looked up at the man who had just thrown you out. he glanced up & down the street, waiting for fire nation guards to collect you.

“you’re not going anywhere, scum.” he crossed his arms, happy with his triumph. “i cant wait until the guards get you. i’ve been waiting for this day since my wife brought you here. i should have never allowed this.”

you got up & brushed off the dust on your clothing. you noticed that the guards had not arrived, so it was now or never. you darted for the gate, not paying attention to the civilians nearby. as you drew closer, you felt freer & freer with each step. but you suddenly hit something rock-hard.

“so you’re the fire nation traitor, huh?” you looked up at what you ran into. it was a man who stood tall, & who had a ugly look on his face. you could tell he was the chief of the guard pack behind him from his uniform.

you took some steps back. as you did, the group of soldiers in front of you drew their weapons. some had spears, while others had swords. outnumbered, you accepted your fate; however, you weren’t going to go without a fight.

your thoughts of what prison life would be life were cut short by a loud “hey! over here!”.

on your right, a group of teenagers stood. they looked ready for battle. the youngest looking, a small bald boy, yelled again. they all motioned for you to run over.

a smile bloomed on your face & you made a beeline for the group. but as you started, the chief behind you grabbed your hair.

“ouch!” you fell back with your scalp stinging. you pushed at his hand, but it was no use. he started to pull you away, not caring about tears welling in your eyes.

“watch out!” the girl of the group ran toward you with her hands extended. “sokka! grab her! make it back to appa!” the water trough on the house next to you started to rattle. all of the liquid rose out & wrapped around the girl’s hands.

a water bender? what is a water bender doing here? and who or what was appa?

with a whip of the water, the chief let go of you & spun around. before scrambling to your feet, you glanced at your savior. she had long dark hair, blue eyes, & a water tribe necklace.

the boy who had been standing next to the young kid now was helping you to your feet. nothing he was saying was registering to you. he looked like the girl, & you supposed they were related.

rolling his eyes, he grabbed your hand & started running. you looked at the guards flashing past you, who were preoccupied with the water bender & now the boy. you couldn’t tell what he was doing, but you could hear loud gushes of wind.

after a few minutes of running, the walls disappeared & trees grew taller. the boy suddenly stopped & looked around. you noticed he still had a hold of your hand. maybe it was because the air was warm or because you had just been running but you could feel your face heat up.

“appa!” he shouted. the trees to the left shook & got out of the way as a large beast came of out of the woods.

you gasped. “is that a sky-bison? i thought they were extinct.”

“yep. this is appa. don’t worry, he’s way nicer than he looks.”

he led you over to the giant fluff-ball. you held out your free hand, letting appa sniff you. after aquianting yourselves, the bison let you pet him.

“you okay?” the boy asked, averting your attention from appa.

“yeah i think so,” you smiled. “thank you for helping me.”

“of course. that’s what we do,” he smirked. “save people.”

you quirked your eyebrow, waiting for him to explain.

“oh i’m sokka by the way.” he went to extend his hand but realized it was in yours. you both let go, embarrassed.

“i’m y/n.” you didn’t look up from the ground. & you waited for your blush to subside before continuing the conversation. “what’d you mean by ‘that’s what we do’? & who’s ‘we’?”

“o-oh. well that boy back there, he’s aang. he’s actually the avatar. believe it or not.” sokka scratched the back of his head. you couldn’t tell if he was embarrassed still or uncomfortable. “me & my sister are helping him learn the elements.”

“oh wow. but you guys are so young. & you’re doing this by yourselves? that’s impressive.” sokka seemed to beam at your words. “it must be nice though, to travel everywhere.”

“yeah it’s really cool. you meet so many interesting people & see cool things. hey, uh, if you don’t mind me asking... what’s up with that mean mustache guy back there?” he pointed back towards the village with his thumb.

“oh, him? he was the guy i worked for, him & his wife. i originally lived with my family in the fire nation, but as they colonized the earth kingdom, they took people to help ‘keep earth kingdom civilians in line’.” you made air-quotes with your fingers, saying what the military had said months before. “i was brought over to live in a village, but now i’m a servant to these stupid fire nation couples.”

“so you were taken from your family?” sokka asked. his voice had gotten softer.

“yeah. in a way.” you shrugged, not wanting to dwell on it.

you now noticed how handsome sokka was. his eyes were as blue as his sister’s; some hairs had been pulled out of his wolf-tail & were now framing his face. you felt your face heat up again & pretended you were interested at the rocks near your feet.

“how about you?” you asked kicking a pebble away. “what about your family?”

“uh, well my dad is fighting in the war. & my mom... she, uh, she’s gone.”

“oh, i’m so sorry.” you put your hand on his arm & offered a sympathetic smile.

just as he was about to say something, footsteps approached you two.

“hey guys!” aang waved as he walked with sokka’s sister.

“how are you? are you okay?” the girl came up to you.

you nodded & looked to aang, wondering what was coming next. were you just going to go to the next village? go back home?

“hey, umm,” aang started. “you wanna join us? i’m sure we could use some fire nation information.” he had the biggest smile you’d ever seen.

“r-really?” your eyes widened. they wanted you to come along? “are you sure?”

“of course!” he replied. the siblings looked happy & offering also, almost as if they were waiting for someone to join.

“yeah, of course i’ll join you!” you said, maybe a little too loud.

What are your favorite geraskier fics? I got into a Ferris bueller fan fic rabbithole but it's unfortunately short, and need something else to read

Dear by Potrix - im like, irrevocably head over heels for this one. i adore outsider POV, and it's so sweet, it just kills me. it's basically a bunch of different strangers bumping into geralt and jaskier, and their different take-aways of the relationship.

Make me Happy by multiplelizards - a frankenstein AU, really good and sweet, i periodically reread it just to cheer myself up

For The Asking by gremble - if you like the Accidental Warlord fic series, you're basically guaranteed to like this fic, which was inspired by awahp, but from geralt's perspective instead of jaskier's.

the aftermath will ring with songs you've sung by emamel - another fic you'll like if you like awahp. fun little fic, and i rather like the ending

Ivy on the Hill by chaya - first fic for the witcher i ever bookmarked. it's been long enough i don't recall the details(sorry, bad memory), but it's multi-chapter and sweet and deals with Interpersonal Drama, if that's your bag

you're only brave in the moonlight (stay til sunrise) by summerfrost - modern AU, roommates to lovers. genuinely fantastic modern AU. i cant describe why i love it, beyond just-- i love it so much, very sweet, genuinely funny dialogue in places.

Where There's a Witcher by ghostinthelibrary - another modern au, but in this one geralt is still a witcher. jaskier is an unemployed journalist and musician, who accidentally stumbles into danger in the form of a wyvern that geralt is actively hunting through city streets. i really loved this one, and it's also a series(tho heads up that im also not up to date on the recent entries to this series either)

most anything by kathkin, but im especially fond of New Monster Stories - another modern AU where geralt is still a witcher. you know that trope where People Dont See The Unusual, Because They Don't Want To See It? so like, a monster can walk right past them and it doesnt register in their brain? that's the rules this fic operates under, and it's glorious and funny and sweet and i adore it.

there's also, like, the fics ive written on ao3(again, same username as here). not to, you know, toot my own horn or anything, but! they exist, if you'd like to give em a look.

Danganronpa Autumn Week 2020

Day 4- harvest and field/orchard

OUMAMI

Sorry this is late. Had a lot of person problems rise up and my brain said depression time. But I did want to get this out! It's a bit rushed though

"Hurry up!" Kokichi's childlike voice shouted. "I've been ready for an hour now!" He stomped hia foot down on the ground.

"Yeah? That's because you were up earlier than I was." Rantaro pulled out a chair from the dining room table and sat down to tie his boot. 

"Why did we even have to wait this long into October to go!" Beside Rantaro, Kokichi leaned on the table with a sigh, close enough to where if he turned anymore, he would fall into Rantaro's lap.

"Because." Rantaro switched feet and leaned down. "Isn't it more fun to visit a pumpkin patch closer to Halloween? Your pumpkin won't rot before then. You don't want a sunken in pumpkin face do you?" He lifted his head to face Kokichi, a small crooked smile as he teased.

Kokichi immediately stood upright, his hands folding behind his head. "That's what you think. I'd welcome a rotting pumpkin. It will remind me of my dear Rantaro's beautifully rotting face." 

Suddenly Rantaro's deep, rich laugh filled the room. "Yeah you're right. I'd be the scariest decoration on the porch wouldn't I?"

"Yes! But only because your seperate head would be on the front porch." 

"Shut the fuck up." Rantaro got up and pushed the chair back into it's place. "Make sure you grab whatever you wanna take and let's go."

Kokichi turned and began to walk towards the front door. "I only need your wallet and my keys and I'm good." He giggled and looked back to see Rantaro shoving his arms through his jacket, an eyebrow raised as he pulled his keys out of his pocket. 

"Very funny. No get to the car."

Rantaro may have been born into a well off family, but he liked to keep his belongings more rustic. That included his car. An older model made for off-roading, as he did in many of his adventures. They road for 40 minutes into the country and away from the city life they were used to. A halloween playlist blared from Kokichi's phone connected by an aux chord. The buildings turned into vast pastures with small farm houses and tall trees that only had half of their leaves still on them.

They pulled into a gated ranch and parked in the grass next to some other cars that also had to be visitors. On one side of the field there was a small one story house with a wrap around porch. Complete with rocking chairs and potted plants out front for the old vintage look. On the other side, a red barn with a green corn maze, the pumpkin patch, and a few other activities spread over the arces. 

Kokichi jumped out of the car and brought both fist up to his chest, eyes wide with excitement. "Rantaro, it's so cool already!"

Rantaro hit the lock button on his keys. "Not many people out yet so I think we came at the right time."

"Come on let's go I wanna do the petting zoo first!' Kokichi bounced over to Rantaro and tugged on his sleeve as he was digging out cash from his pocket.

"Hell yeah I wanna see a goat."

"Of course you do. You sound just like one when you laugh." Kokichi teased.

"Man I wish. Do you know how funny that would be?" Rantaro was always quick to deflect. He put some money into a small honesty box the farm had set up as you entered the gate. This served as the admission fee. 

Once inside, they filled their morning with activities. First the petting zoo where Kokichi was able to feed some of the small animals the farm had. Rantaro got the chance to have a staring contest with one of the goats and unfortunately lost.

Next, because of Kokichi's size, he was able to ride on one of the small pony's they had displayed. 

"Damn I can't believe they've got a real unicorn. That's so magical." Rantaro pointed out as he looked at the iridescent horn they had attached to the pony's head. 

"Stop! You're going to hurt his feelings!"

Thirdly, they came across the hay ride. Someone who lived on site got up on a horse and allowed other guests to ride in the trailer on the back that was filled with hay. It was a quick go around but being able to see just how big the pasture had been was amazing for them. 

It was on that ride that Kokichi noticed a both for face painting. 

"Please please please!" He begged Rantaro.

"Sure go ahead. Just stay still so they can make it look nice."

"Isnt the point to be scary for Halloween?"

"Not at a family friendly event its not." He nudged Kokichi. "Plus you're just going to get the clown makeup anyway."

Kokichi leaned back in disbelief. "Rantaro I'm hurt! I was thinking of other things to get. Its like you don't even know me at all!" He pouted.

"Alright you're right. Go ahead and get your face done and I'm going to grab some apple cider."

Kokichi's frown immediately turned back into his childlike expression as he went off to the booth.

It didn't take long for Rantaro to find the food stand and grab a cup of apple cider and make his way back to the face painting booth where Kokichi was finishing up.

"Hey looking good clown." He sipped on the cup.

"Oh shut up Rantaro." He mumbled, unable to move his face much. 

Rantaro couldn't help but laugh. Finally Kokichi seemed to be subdued.

Makeover done and cider finished, they found themselves in the next to last activity, the corn maze. 

"Have you ever seen Children of the Corn?" Kokichi asked.

"Nah, I don't think so. I don't remember."

"Good." A wide smile creeped across his face.

"Wait what are you smiling about?" 

"Oh nothing! Maybe! You gotta find me and then maybe I'll tell you!" Kokichi slid through the corn stalks and out of sight. 

A slight panic rose in Rantaro. What was Kokichi up to? Would he get lost? What if he didn't find him after this? He shook his head and started off in the direction Kokichi ran and began his search.

Everytime he would turn a corner, he swore he saw a checkered scarf run past but he couldn't be too sure. He would go off the path for a bit, pulling the stalks back and trying not the break the husks.

After a while he just stood in an open part of the maze, surrounded by the corn. Kokichi was a master at this and it left Rantaro having to look for small weak spots in Kokichi's plans.

Suddenly there was some rustling in the corn to the left of him. Bingo.  He cautiously walked over, trying not to make any noise to alert Kokichi of him noticing him. He slowly reached out his hands in between the stalks and quickly shoved them apart to reveal….a squirrel. Rantaro sighed. He really thought he had him.

Instead it was him that had been played. Soon a small force shoved into him, arms wrapped around him from the side with a he-yah! 

"Got you Rantaro! You're super bad at this!" Kokichi looked up at him, his chin rested on Rantaro's arm. 

Rantaro tried to hide the relief as he was finally reunited with Kokichi. "Damn. Cant believe you got me again. I knew you were working with the squirrels." He lifted a hand up and tussled the hair on Kokichi's head, causing him to let go and shake his head away from Rantaro's head. 

"That's a secret I'll never tell!"

"Why am I not surprised?" He smiled. "Hey let's go pick out our pumpkins now okay? I think that was like the last thing."

"Okay!" 

They made their way back towards the front to the large pumpkin patch. People were walking through taking pictures and holding up different sizes from small pie pumpkins, to large ones that were great for displays. 

"Go ahead and pick one okay?"

"Ran-Ran can't we get three? One for each of us and then we can carve one together!"

"Oh totally we can do that. But that's it okay?"

Instead of answering, Kokichi zoomed into the patch and began picking different pumpkins up to examine them. He would turn them over and pat them to listen for the slap noise. 

"You have to listen for the good noise to know if its worthy!" Kokochi said matter of factly as he lifted one up. "I chose this one!" 

"Its way bigger than your head. Are you sure you want to put that much effort into carving it?"

"Yes! I have so many ideas!" Kokichi tucked it under his arm and began looking around for one they could both do.

Rantaro spent a bit more time until finally coming across one that had a nice flat surface for carving. "Alright. I found my boy. Did you find one for us both to do?"

Kokichi held out the pumpkin he chose for Rantaro to take so it would free his hands up. Rantaro shifted each pumpkin under his arm and held them in place as Kokichi kept looking around for the perfect pumpkin. 

Finally Kokichi's foot kicked a pumpkin when he wasn't looking. He caught himself before he fell and looked down at it. "Aha!" He leaned down and picked it up. Perfectly oval to allow them both room on each side to work with. "I found it!"

"Sweet. Let's go get checked out then okay?" 

They got through the line with ease and made their way back to the car. Rantaro also picked up a jar of homemade jam they had available at the register.

"Hey Ran Ran?" Kokichi asked as he buckled up.

"What's up?"

"Thank you for hanging out with me today and taking me out here. It really meant a lot."

Rantaro could tell Kokichi was having a hard time being vulnerable. "Hey, it's really no problem. I had a great time this morning. And you know it's not over yet. We still gotta carve em." He smiled and turned the key until the car started.

"Oohh! And can we bake the seeds and make roasted pumpkin seeds please!"

"Shit those are my favorite. Of course we can Kichi." 

[a-vamp-and-a-half]

There’s slamming as Evan rushes inside, his face panicked at seeing Sia’s wounds and grieved at her passiveness. He’s terrified and helpless, unable to get mad at Sia for not listening, unable to get furious at Doc for doing this to her, unable to take out his rage at the problem. With no outlet his anger is thrown at the closest person near her, the closest resemblance to himself. He grabs Dark “Why didn’t you protect her!” he yells “You were there why didn’t you do anything useful!” he cries

Yelling. It’s the first thing she registers again. There’s someone yelling and there’s someone screaming and its all so loud. They’re talking over her head and about her and they won’t shut up. They won’t stop. Stop it. Stop it. “Stop it” she says harshly, stumbling up despite her wounds “Stop talking about me as if I’m not here. You do not have the right to blame anyone when you were the one to leave me behind, when I needed you” she says bitterly in Evan’s face, eyes dead and terribly cold (2)

“I’m so sick and tired of being treated as your hapless sister, as if I will collapse at the slightest upset, as if I didn’t raise you by my own blood and tears, as if I didn’t fight tooth and nail to protect our homes, as if I didn’t make bloody damn sure our father couldn’t lay a finger on us. As if I cant decide for myself” she says, venom dripping from her voice “What have I done to be treated like this? What have I done to get this hurt? What have I done to deserve this?!” she screams (3)

He starts talking and her ire grows worse “And what would you have done huh? Make useless shields? Make baseless threats? Run away like a coward? Quit when things get too difficult again?” she bites out “Or maybe you’ll make more empty promises, how you’ll fix everything by forcing us to move again. To abandon everything. All because you can’t get off your fucking high horse and think you always know better” she says viciously “The lil brother saving his idiot sister from herself once again”(4)

He stammers and a blue flame burns from her hand, an old newspaper appearing. She almost slams it against his chest, a wince stoping her hand at the last moment as Evan fumbles to grab the paper. His skin turns pale. On it is an obituary. “Save it. Your actions have said enough” she says coldly, walking away, stumbling towards the fire pit outside. Blue flames surround the field, harsh and unyielding, searingly hot but devoid of care, incinerating any thoughts and attempts at approaching her(5)

Evan’s head is lowered, shameful tears slipping past wide eyes, lower jaw trembling. The paper slips from his trembling fingers to the ground as he walks away, the door of Sia’s bedroom slamming shut behind him. The silence left by their departure is deafening, smiling face of their father looking up from the floor (6)(final)

The silence in the room grows deafening, the tension thicker than ever before.

No-one looks at each other. 

Dark feels sick, guilty. He should have protected Sia better, it’s true. 

Doc is still slamming against the door, but he’s at least stopped screaming.

Everyone just... leaves.

Goes to their rooms, unsure of what to do now. 

The DA tries to follow Dark, asking if he needs help getting himself fixed up, somehow feeling like even their signing is too loud.

Dark shakes his head, and after a moment of hesitation The DA nods, and reminds him they’re right next door if he changes his mind.

Wilford stops in front of Doc door, frowning. It’s not too big a deal, Dark used to come home angry like this all the time. He focuses, and manages to make the room a little more soundproof, muffled enough that no-one can hear Doc’s commotion from their own rooms.

There is no peace to this house tonight, just thick, uneasy quiet.

My review of Folklore (first listen feelings)

The 1 - "I'm on some new shit" 🥰🥰. Chill vibes feeling very soothing. If you never bleed you're never gunna grow!! If my wishes came true it woulda been you!! Never leaving well enough alone HUH TAYLOR I see you there. The ending Oooohoooohoh

Cardigan - the slinky feel is amazing. I absolutely love the vibe and the softness in the lyrics. Friend to all is a friend to none. You drew stars around my scars but now I'm bleeding. Marked me like a bloodstain. Peter losing wendy. The imagery!! When you are young they assume you know nothing and then switching straight to "I knew you".... the way she's playing with emphasis is lovely. You'd come back to me/you could stay parallel.

Tlgad - ooh the beat is cool on this one. Only so far new money goes. Oh snap. This is so cutting. Her fault it fell down. She had a marvellous time ruining everything. Pool with champagne again huh. Card game bets. Most shameless woman this town has ever seen. So many implications of "they say". Again with the different style of emphasis. So this is the story of taylors house? Love it. LOUDEST WOMAN this town has ever seen. I had a marvellous tiiiiiIIIIiiiime ruining everything.

Exile - you're not my homeland anymore so what am I defending??? Also the use of films, a recurrent theme in taylors music since fearless. The low register of taylors voice.... delicious. Those eyes add insult to injury. Who am offending now? The step up in piano pace. The echoing vocals. Walked a very thin line. The swell of vocals overlapping. The contradictions and the almost argumentative nature of the vocals is great. Lyrically I'm getting Cold As You/White Horse vibes for some reason?

My tears ricochet - the opposing oohs in each ear is so eerie but I love it? If I'm on fire you'll be made of ashes too. Hero imagery is strong in this album. Same jewels I gave you to bury me... dang. I can anywhere I want just not home... just after the song exile is so powerful. Stolen lullabyes!! The way she repeats but changes the lyrics is so good.

Mirrorball - layering of vocals is beautiful. Shining just for you. Confessional nature of the song echoing the sadness. Masquerade revellers. How can she sing 'rodeo clowns' and its sad and mournful and not jokes? Still on that trapeze trying everything to keep you looking at me.

Seven - lol tay you didnt peak at 7 😂. This is also gay. We can be pirates and you wont have to cry is so soft and also badass. Used to scream ferociously!! I still got lOove for you. Move to india together? I love this so much. Passing down stories in folk songs. This is soft and sweet. Outro is like a melancholy dance.

August - the melody of this song is perfect. August slipped away into a moment of time. The way that the vocals step back at that part? Is so good? She is really playing with the arrangements of instruments and vocals and its so interesting. You werent mine to lose! Twisting in bedsheets.... hello daylight. You stood to the side of Arthur’s tent, around the wagon, and tapped your foot nervously. If you went in there were you too needy? Did you maybe give him some time? It had only been one kiss, maybe just play it off, act natural.

You took a deep breath and swung yourself around the wagon and opened your mouth to… an empty bed. Deflated, you dropped your arms to your side and looked around. Strange, his bed looked neater and the pictures were gone from his bedside table and wagon. Your head whipped around to see if his horse was still hitched, she wasn’t.

“Charles!”

Within seconds he was at your side, strapped in and ready to go.

“What’s going on?”

“It’s Arthur,” you gestured to his empty cabin, “I think he’s gone.”

Charles surveyed the scene and motioned for you to follow him. You mounted your horses and rode off towards Valentine.

A train blundered past you both, blowing its horn and clacking away as you struggled to keep up with Charles. You both skidded into the train station and hitched your horses and barrelled inside.

“When did the last train leave?” you demanded of the ticket man and Charles put his hand on your shoulder.

“Why just a few minutes ago,” the ticket man said, holding his hands up a little at your tone.

There was nothing more to do, so you walked out of the station, barely registering your surroundings. The sun was up proper now and people in Valentine were starting to stir.

*** You spent most of your time in the wilderness, scouting out towns and huddled around your campfire, looking for Arthur. Sometimes Charles stayed with you to help look, but you felt more alone when he was there.

Dutch had been enraged when Charles informed him what Arthur had done and locked himself away in his tent. Hosea tried to talk to him but found more yield talking to a wall. The only person who didn’t seem to be affected was Micah, who strode around the camp, thumbs in his suspenders.

“Looks like pretty boy got himself a train out of here as quick as he could, huh?”

Only Charles and Jack had offered to help you look for him, as fruitless an effort it may be.

Charles grabbed your sleeve and pulled you behind a pillar. You had finally made it to Saint Denis, three full weeks after Arthur had left you. It was the industrial side of town and the buildings were crammed together like sardines, you hated it here and could tell Charles did too.

“What is it?” you whispered and Charles nodded to a stagecoach.

You turned to look and it stopped in front of a house. The driver stepped off and opened the door, holding his hand out for-

“That’s her, Mary,” Charles hissed and you felt him restless beside you.

When she was down another man stepped out and if it weren’t for that stupid smile you wouldn’t have recognized him.

Hair trimmed short and faded on one side, his beard almost non-existent, clean suit and not a speck of dirt on his shoes. Arthur stepped out of the carriage and Mary grabbed his hand, pulling him down and kissing him.

And that just made you so god damn mad.

“Arthur you son of a bitch!”

You stomped out of your precarious hiding space and barely heard Charles trying to drag you back. The breath had left your lungs to be replaced with cold fire and brimstone and you pulled back your fist and punched him dead in the jaw.

Like it mattered, your fists were fleas compared to his face but you think you got the point across. Tears filled your eyes and you didn’t even care about Mary at this point, all your rage was focused on this man who was doing just fine without the rest of you.

“Y/n, wait, I-”

“I’m done waiting!” you cried, “I waited three weeks for you to show your face, you coward! We all waited! Do you know what you did to us?”

“I know and I’m sorry-”

“I don’t care how sorry you are!”

Charles had come up behind you quietly and taken your hand and it calmed you down a little. Always a light in such trying times. Arthur turned his gaze to Charles and pleaded with him silently.

“At least we know you’re okay, Arthur,” Charles said and you could hear the venom in his voice, see the way Arthur recoiled from it. Mary walked up to Arthur and looked between the three of you.

“Arthur, who is this?” she asked, looking at you. Somehow you couldn’t be mad at her. She was beautiful and strong enough to tear Arthur away from a life that would kill him. “Mary this is y/n,” he sighed, “and Charles.”

“You two seem to have some kind of relationship,” she said, drawing herself up.

“We don’t,” you spat, “enjoy civilization.”

You turned on your heel and left, despite the fact that both of your horses were in the opposite direction. Anything to get away from them, from the stink of this city.

You felt a hand grab yours and you thought it was Charles but you turned.

“I ain’t got nothin’ to say to you,” you said, ripping your hand out of Arthur’s.

“I made a mistake,” he said.

“You sure seemed to be enjoying that mistake by kissin’ on it.”

“Now it ain’t like that-”

“Then tell me what it’s like!” you cried. You felt so small in front of this man.

“I got scared,” he said finally, “that night with you, made me feel things I hadn’t felt in years. I went to town to clear my head and Mary got to me first, made her case and here I am. Not my proudest moment.”

“Dutch is furious,” you said.

“As he should be.”

“I’m furious.”

“I did you wrong,” he said, taking a step closer to you, “and I’m glad y’all found me.”

“You better,” you said through your gritted teeth, “get your ass back to Valentine before I kick it back there for you.”

In spite of the sour situation he grinned at you. And in even more spite, because that’s what you were made of, you stood on your toes and kissed him, taking his face in your hands and pressing as hard as you could, feeling him wrap his arms around you.

“And grow out your beard for Christ’s sake.”

"Mikasa!? Mikasa!?" Eren couldn't get to her side fast enough when his feet slammed down on the tiled roof, and he immediately turned the girl onto her back, enabling him the ability to press his ear over her heart to see if it's still beating. But his blood ran cold when he realized that it wasn't. "No..." He placed his fingers under her chin and tilted her head up in order to open her airways. "No, no, no...." Pinching her nose, Eren leaned in and sealed his lips around hers to blow a large amount of air into her lungs. "Come on, Mikasa!" Every syllable he speaks points to him being racked with guilt, regret, fear, and heartbreaking sadness as he laced his fingers together and pressed the heels of his palms into her chest.

1...2...3...1...2...3

Again, he pinched her nose, gave two breaths, and waited for her chest to fall again. "LEVI! I FOUND HER!" Eren's voice echoed through the otherwise empty streets, reminding him exactly when she may have ended up on the roof in the first place, though it wasn't nearly this quiet at the time. Perhaps a titan pulled her 3DMG and slammed her body too hard on the roof? Suddenly, it hit him how he may never get the chance to tell her how much he loves her, or how often he dreams of kissing those lips of hers in a way he imagines her loosing control. That realization hit him hard in the gut like when a titan slams into him and knocks him on the ground, breathless, speechless.

Eren's cheeks felt wet and his eyes stung so badly he struggled to keep them open. "Mikasa, please, please," he pleaded, leaning down to give her two more breaths as a few of his tears fall on her face. "Please, come back to me!" This time she coughed, and her eyes rolled around as she struggled to keep her eyelids open. "M-Mikasa?! LEVI WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?!! Fight Mika, fight for me! You're strong enough, I know you can do it!" Gently, very gently, Eren cradled her upper body in his arms and wiped his own tears off of her beautiful, porcelain skin, stained with blood from her oozing scrapes. But then, her barely open, half lidded gaze went away and Eren felt his heart sink. "No! No, no, no, Mikasa, look at me. Look at me!" He sucked in a deep breath and watched her eyes roll around, blinking in attempt to stay open. "There you are," he let out a chuckle and swallowed his tears, glancing around him for the team until he finally spotted a horse drawn cart, and some of the squad soaring by other abandoned, dilapidated homes. "See, Mikasa? You're gonna be okay! No! No! Keep your beautiful eyes open, please, god, Mikasa, don't fucking die..." Eren buried his face in her chest and resisted the overwhelming urge to scream. "I'm so sorry, Mikasa, I'm so sorry... I cant live without you, please don't die."

A slam of three pairs of boots on the roof.

"Oi, move over, Eren," Connie's voice was calm and reassuring, but it betrayed the horrified look on his face. There must be many fallen comrades from this battle. “We've got her." When Eren looked up from his now unconscious best friend, his eyes were red from fending off tears and he was very clearly quite distraught.

"Go to hell! I can carry her myself!"

"Dude!” Armin threw his arms in the air out of frustration. “We don't know what internal injuries she has, that could be a horrible idea!"

"Eren," Levi said with a stern tone, nodding in his general direction. "Come on. She needs to be seen by Hange." The boy knit his brows together and nearly growled, but his superior didn't flinch, only maintained that ever stoic exterior. Eren looked down at the frail woman in his arms and swallowed a frustrated scream, gently untangling the leaves and pine needles from her hair. Connie set his hand on Mikasa's foot and looked up at Eren like he was expecting an explosive reaction, but the man had conceded, sliding his arm under her knees as he stood to his feet.

"And I said, go to hell, I'm carrying her myself."

Armin sighed deeply at his best friend’s words and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Eren -"

"Where's the cart?"

"Eren, come on -"

"FUCK! WHERE IS THE FUCKING CART?!" The barely conscious woman in his arms groaned and attempted to lift her arm to grasp at his bloodied shirt. He's not even sure if it's his or hers. "Mikasa! Stay with me! I need you to hold onto me so we can get you to a cart, okay? Mikasa! There you are," It's getting harder to swallow his tears now, they're just showering her shirt, dropping from his chin while he follows after Connie as closely as possible. Mikasa looked up into Eren's dewy eyes through a half lidded gaze and felt her heart break when she registered the wet spot on her chest. “Okay, are you ready? I have to put you down - I'm so sorry, Mika.." Gently setting her on her feet, she let out a horrific cry of pain as Armin and Connie helped settle her arms around Eren's neck.

“I'm sorry, Mikasa. But we don’t have any choice." Armin sighed, wincing just watching her move because he cannot begin to fathom how severe, overwhelming, physical pain can shock your body, yet here they are, asking her to hold onto Eren so he can fly her to the ground. Eren swallowed hard and looked around to make sure the coast was clear before taking off with a semi-conscious Mikasa on his back, who let out an uncontrollable cry when they landed on the ground that broke his heart. Jean walked over on his horse and pulled the reins to make it stop.

"What the hell happened to her, Jaeger?!" Jean's voice truly sounded like nails on a chalkboard to him, especially at this moment when the most important person in his life is barely alive. Eren ignored him and carefully lay Mikasa on the makeshift bed and sat down beside her, gently pulling a blanket up to cover her body. “For someone who swore to protect her, you fucking suck at it."

"Go fuck yourself, horseface. I don't know what happened," Eren maintained his gaze on Mikasa and tucked a second blanket over her. "I found her on a roof. She needed CPR to restart her heart, but I don't know how long she was..." he sighed, dragging his hand down his face. "I don't know how long she was dead for. But since she's still alive after getting CPR, I'm choosing to be encouraged."

The room is dark despite the candles that decorate the walls, offering a small amount of light with their warm glow. It's been about 13 hours since they brought her home, and Mikasa still hasn't woken up. Eren felt a pull on his heart and his stomach dropped, reaching a hand up to gently dust her hair out of her face. The first couple of hours that she was asleep were agonizing enough, simply because he's admittedly terrified she won't wake up again. Hange is coming in every hour to check on her and hasnt said anything to indicate any danger of Mikasa's heart stopping again.

Leaning forward in his chair, Eren buried his face in his hands and let out a long, drawn out sigh. How could this have happened? One minute, she was right behind him, slicing through the fingers of a titan who had them squeezed around a comrade, then in the next, she's unconscious on a dirty, broken roof. Eren was cutting the nape out of a titan's neck when the sound of her screaming flooded his senses, inspiring him to blow through every single titan that came at him, and then, just as suddenly, her cries were gone. Seeing her lifeless body laying on the roof was just as heartbreaking and gut wrenching as the day his mother was brutally murdered right in front of them. Seeing her beat up and broken body brings back memories of when she herself was squeezed in the hands of a titan, nearly bringing him to the point of throwing up. Which was, of course, a rescue mission for him. These feelings are all too much. The thought of her never waking up again is too much.

Taking her ever so petite, delicate hand in his, Eren leaned forward in his seat and rested his elbows on her cot as he laced their digits together. With a gentle touch, he set a hand on her cheek and allowed his thumb to glide across smooth flesh, finally cleaned off from any debris and crusty, dried up blood. Off the top of his head, Eren can't place a single time where he has ever touched her like this. On a typical day, he barely touches her at all except maybe if they train together or even the occasional hug, but nothing like holding her hand, and certainly not touching her skin.

"I always thought that you looked beautiful when you sleep," Eren whispered with a smile, gently smoothing her soft, raven hair out of her face. "Actually, I've -" He sighed and rested his forehead on their interlocked hands, carefully considering what to say next even though she's still asleep. "I've always thought that you're beautiful." It's true. Even with a bruised and broken body she still manages to take his breath away. His fingers lightly traced over her delicate facial features, careful not to bump any bruises along the way, taking in the sight with a whole new viewpoint of his best friend. She is breathtakingly beautiful. Mikasa's skin felt warm under his touch and it weirdly mystified him, because it's just as velvety smooth as he'd imagined.

"I'm sorry that I let you down, Mikasa," he whispered, finally cupping her cheek in his hand. "If I hadn't fucking ditched you to go off on my own, you'd be conscious right now." Eren sat back in his seat with a huff and shook his head in disdain because of the many horrible decisions he’s made that put her in danger. For a moment, Eren briefly considered crawling onto the cot to hold her like he always did when they were young and sharing a bed. Oh, just to feel her chest rise and fall as she sleeps, maybe that would soothe the crushing tightness in his chest. But he’s not going to do that. At least, not until she’s healed from her injuries. “Please, please wake up,” his voice is begging, pleading as he brought her hand to his lips and softly kissed the top. “I need you, Mikasa, I need you to fight. If you don’t fight, you can’t win, remember?” Eren leaned his forehead on their interlocked hands and slowly shook his head, remembering the sight of her lifeless body laying on the roof. It took his breath away, like someone had reached into his body and yanked all the air from his lungs. There was no sound, he had tunnel vision, because he cared about was getting to her as quickly as he could. “Look, I’m not good at this expression thing. I know I’m a dickhead. I know I don’t tend to act like I do, but I really do care about you. I care about you a lot, actually.” Eren kissed her hand again when he looked up and was so surprised to see a half-lidded gaze, that he almost sat up and kissed her on the lips. But he just smiled. “I love you.”

“W-what?” Mikasa whispered, confused by the sudden shift in his behavior. Inside, though, she was pretty stoked, especially when he leaned over the edge of the cot, careful not to bump into it or touch her too hard.

“I said,” Eren smiled as he got closer to her lips. “I love you. I’m sorry it took this happening to you for me to finally fucking say it.”

Then it finally happened, it was soft and gentle, so loving and romantic, she smiled, moaning softly into their first kiss that they are both certain won’t be their last.
