♡ margo is a fantastic singer and hums mind-blowing runs as easily as she breathes and miles absolutely loves it. when she's depressed, she sings a lot less so whenever she DOES sing that's how he knows she's in a good mood. he loves having her over bc he gets to pull out uncle aaron's old secondhand record player and place rnb and 90's hiphop vinyls on it, playing soulful music that she hums to as they parallel-play or do homework together

♡ when margo first convinced miles to let her do his hair, he was hella worried that his mom would disapprove and chastise him once she saw but she was surprisingly very supportive of it, although a bit hesitant. eventually she was grateful she didnt have to braid her son's hair as often (being a single parent is exhausting enough lol)

♡ rio42 ofc had the same reaction to margo as rio1610 when she 1st met gwen, but when margo eventually started showing up more and more to hang out with the morales fam (and aaron too lol), she grew on rio. they both keep a close eye on miles and try to keep him going towards the right path

♡ in their universe they both go to visions and even have a class together, and they are both very very academically competitive. rio doesn't need to stay on miles' ass about his grades bc margo is right there taunting him with an A+ on a test every single time

♡ they actually ACTUALLY study together in the library or in miles' room during study sessions. neither of them can afford to fall off wrt their grades and they both have big dreams they wanna achieve: margo wants to become a hardlight technician and apply for oscorp (much to miles' chagrin), and miles wants to continue his engineering and robotics career so he can provide for his whole family

♡ margo's parents constantly fighting means she is often over at miles' house more than he is at hers. it actually took her an embarrassingly long amount of time to finally invite him over because she never wanted her parents to know he even existed, let alone actually meet him at all. miles was at first kinda offended she didn't want him to meet her parents even after they got together but when he heard them arguing in the background during a call one day, he finally Understood

♡ after he found out about her crappy home life (and also secretly told rio), she was welcome to stay more often at his place. she has a blanket, a few clothes and several diff books and console games lying around in his room

♡ it honestly also took them both a ridiculously long time to finally start dating. everyone around them shipped them but they remained friends for a long time bc miles was just too closed off and scared to let anyone into his private life like that. also i hc they are both on the ace spectrum but don't realize it until later (listen i see purple characters and i HAVE to wave the ace wand on them ok 😭)

♡ margo is sometimes frustrated at miles for being so secretive and hiding his emotions behind walls, as goofy and dorky as he can be. she wishes he would just come out and be more honest about his feelings but understands that after his dad's passing, its harder for him to communicate his emotions

♡ she was the one who asked him out first, actually. he was beating around the bush way too much and so she finally put her foot down and initiated the relationship

margo scoffs, noticing his line of sight and looking very offended. "i may look cute and unassuming but that's exactly what i want our enemies to think! it gives me an advantage!"

♡ it's funny, bc on the outside they seem like the stereotypical traditional straight relationship with a macho boy and sweetheart girl. but in reality they're both sarcastic snippy geeks who can both throw down in any verbal argument. and miles adores his gf, he's completely whipped for her. lets her paint his nails and everything, and if anyone tries to make fun of him for it, he doubles down and threatens to fight them over it

♡ they are THAT couple that wears lowkey matching outfits every once in a while. they actually enjoy shopping together which was a relief for both of them bc miles LIVES just to go sneaker shopping and margo absolutely loves trying new things on in the dressing room. theyre also both fashionistas in their own ways and love to accessorize. they swap accessories a lot

♡ whenever they hit up a bookstore, they are the first to head right on over to the manga section. right afterwards, they make a beeline over to the science fiction section and compare their purchases together after leaving

♡ miles is absolutely the "idc what my girl wears bc i know how to fight" boyfriend. margo doesn't go out in revealing outfits or anything, but looking a little TOO adorable in a dystopian city can sometimes paint a target on your back and so miles makes sure she's with him at all times if she wants to put her braids up into heart buns or wear a dress outside

♡ any hardware or mechanical problem that margo has, she takes it straight to miles. miles takes any software or coding issues he has to margo. if those software issues have anything to do with his prowler gear, however… he tries to isolate the issue and explain in vague terms what the problem is to avoid telling his gf he's actually the prowler

♡ no, he has not revealed to margo that he is the prowler yet. he's terrified to see her face when she inevitably finds out anyways, just KNOWING it would doom their relationship to a breakup if she ever figured it out. he does everything in his power to keep her from finding out his secret, even if it means disappointing her when he misses out on dates they set together

♡ they are both total champions at whatever multiplayer video game they get hooked onto. their personal faves are mmorpgs and battle royale games, but they are UNBELIEVABLY competitive when it comes to party games and even board games. they absolutely wipe the floor if they get to team up together

♡ tbqh they're the EXACT level of nerdy that they would consider playing video games in their separate homes as a date. "mmorpg and chill babe?" miles texts margo sometimes as a joking way to ask her on an online date. every minute they spend on voicechat as they kick digital ass together counts as quality time for sure

♡ even tho she's kind of embarrassed about it, margo has an absolutely huge plushie and figurine collection. she was worried miles would judge her SUPER HARD for her lowkey (highkey) special interest in anime figures when he 1st came over to her room, but immediately felt relieved when miles practically flew up to a rare figure she got secondhand from a japanese seller online and started ooohing and aaahing about it

♡ he actually tries to put aside whatever he earns prowling around the city for his mom first. then whatever's left over goes right to margo. he likes taking her out shopping and letting her pick out two or three things and seeing her beam like a sunrise before giving him a kiss on the cheek

♡ miles tries to hide his prowling behind the excuse of getting a job with his uncle at the family auto shop. every time he has a job to do or needs to leave suddenly, he blames it on "an emergency/new car job at the garage". margo eventually starts hating the word "garage"

♡ get either of these 2 to start talking abt their special interest, and it will be like Infodump City in there in 2 secs flat. they listen to each other's infodumping with hearts in their eyes, ESPECIALLY miles. margo goes "hey can i just rant to you about my new interest rq" and he goes "yes ma'am 🥰"

♡ everyone thinks margo is the one who cooks and cleans but hell no. miles is a neat freak whose room is the total opposite of margo's and he spends a lot of time alone at home when his mom is working a double shift and his uncle is out trying to secure another job for them. he knows how to cook like a damn chef by the time he's 16 (and also rio42 is not a toxic boymom. she will not raise any lazy needy son, her boy WILL know how to do laundry, cook meals and wash the damn dishes!)

♡ margo on the other hand tries to avoid the kitchen as often as possible and gets panic attacks when having to clean anywhere else but her own room bc of bad memories of having to sweep up broken glass after hearing her parents have violent fights that left the apartment in tatters. she never got to learn how to cook bc they never taught her, either

♡ margo is actually p traumatized from her parents' constant hateful fighting that she tries to squash down or hide behind a confident mask. but sometimes it pops up in ugly ways like when miles accidentally slams a cupboard door too loudly or a sarcastic comment sounds a little too bitter. her knee-jerk reaction is to always distance herself from miles a bit as a coping mechanism, which they had to work through

♡ miles' own grief and loss traumatized him beyond belief too ofc. after his dad's passing, his anxiety grows and he becomes more withdrawn, easily tired, and forgetful. it becomes worse after he becomes the prowler, bc dipping into the NYC underworld every so often gives p much anyone a healthy dose of paranoia. plus it takes some time away from his gf on top of all of that.

♡ if they're ever at parties or get-togethers at all, its always margo initiating conversations and meeting with people, making introductions and chatting happily. she always happens to have a quiet, chill miles-shaped shadow with her the whole time

♡ if margo was going to date miles, he told her one time, she was GOING to learn how to dance bachata and salsa. throw in a lil reggaeton in there as they get older and rio becomes a TINY bit more chill with seeing them on the dancefloor. they actually become much better at dancing together as they practice at family reunions and birthday parties

♡ miles carries around plush keychains and other trinkets that remind him of margo. he's a total sap when it comes to her, even if he tries to hide just how much he loves her sometimes. his phone's lockscreen is something dark or aesthetic like a city skyline or whatever but then when he unlocks it, margo is always his wallpaper

♡ aaron likes margo, he really does. he worries that miles doesn't have enough friends but he's happy that his nephew has a gf that is genuinely good for him. they all have a great time together whenever they do get downtime to chill together, like playing cards or helping aaron clean the garage

♡ that being said, aaron loves to pretend to sabotage their relationship as a running joke and watch miles get all riled up about it. it is hilarious to him, never gets old.

they're giving the garage connected to the autoshop its bimonthly deep clean just ahead of the yearly inspection.

it's a sunday, the only day of the week that the shop is closed for business and miles is on corner duty once they get down to the concrete floor. he's tasked with using the short hard brush attached to a long wooden handle to scrub the dust and grime out of the neglected corners. margo is scrubbing the middle with a much bigger sturdier widebroom, and aaron--being the tallest ofc-- has the duster on an extendable handle, swiping through the metal rafters and high shelves.

aaron grins as he suddenly says, "so yeah, thats why i got miles here on corner duty, usually. y'know being a little guy and all, he can do all that that someone as tall as me can't really do anymore yanno what i'm sayin? he's real good in those small spaces. that's why i'm up here, dustin' these rafters."

he notices miles struggling a bit with a mysterious stain in one corner, repeatedly attacking it before finally crouching down to shove the brush even harder against the floor with his hands.

aaron casually sneaks backwards and catches margo's attention with a smirk and a point of his chin. she swings her gaze around to her slightly frustrated boyfriend crouched down into a corner and starts giggling.

♡ miles is the little spoon and margo is the big spoon, fight me abt it. his fave cuddling position is actually when his arms are wrapped around her and her cheek is laid against his head. otherwise, he loves his weighted blanket, and margo loves her warm mattress ♡ when they're home alone and on the couch watching movies, his back is usually to her side as he half-lays on her, using her arm as a pillow

♡ margo is def not a sports kind of girl but she tries for her bf. he and aaron are very much into basketball which she tries to keep up with just to join in on their convos. she always attends miles' boxing matches tho, ofc. she actually likes watching boxing matches in general! aaron gives her some old tapes of his own matches when he was younger and that's how margo gets into televised mma fights and ufc. she's always cheering for miles the loudest in the audience

♡ miles actually uses margo sometimes in his workouts. the proudest day of his life was when he was able to have margo laying on his back as he did pushups, and he made it to 10 before tiring himself out. she's the one holding his feet down as he does sit-ups and ab crunches. she tries to join in on his workouts too, and gets p good with the speedbag relatively quickly!

♡ miles-- being the paranoid guy he is-- happens to be the one to teach margo all of the effective self-defense moves. she thinks he's always exaggerating the danger out on the streets but she can't lie sometimes; whenever she's out past sunset with her keys in between her knuckles, she's just a TINY bit glad that miles taught her how to escape a rear chokehold

♡ margo is the soc media girl who is embarassingly online and posts about anything and everything of her life. new website coded? met a stray cat on her way over to miles'? bought a new manga? invented a cool gadget? they always show up in her followers soc media feed. she tries to get miles to pose for pics with her but he's mostly content to just be the guy behind the camera tbh. his own soc media account is pretty boring and bare since he rarely ever posts. he's got other things on his mind, errands to run

♡ the one and only time margo has ever seen miles cry was right after his dad died. the whole neighborhood got the news and she ran straight over to miles' apartment the minute she could. they climbed into his bed (the only time rio didn't reprimand them for it) and he just sobbed his heart out while they held each other for a real long time. she brought over homework and notes when he stayed home from school to recuperate

How do military ranks work? Especially between different branches. Ik that like admiral is for navy but the rest of the terminology is lost on me lol

okay! first of all, you're completely right - ranks across the US branches are completely different which is extremely dumb. We don't even know all of them, we only memorize the ones within our own branch (and if we work closely with a sister branch).

ranks are broken up into two sections: enlisted and officers. i explained this the other day kind of morbidly, but basically it works out to:

enlisted -> meatshields

officers -> meatshield directors

officers join the military with degrees that usually the military paid for them to get. meaning, the military was like, hey we need people who have a degree in x

and people are like "oh i want that degree"

and the military goes "great! once you have said degree, you belong to us for 4-6 years"

and people agree to that. officers are the leaders. a group of enlisted are always overseen by officers of varying ranks.

now, enlisted (which is what i was) can be any Schmoe off the street. ie, i had no where else to go and was desperate and the military said "hey we can board and feed you for the next 4-6 years" and i said "oh that's nice" and they said "great we own you now".

enlisted salute officers (enlisted are never saluted (unless you're me and wore an officer rank one afternoon to see how long it took anyone to notice AND I GOT IN A LOT OF TROUBLE DO NOT RECOMMEND)

officers only salute higher ranking officers (ie, a first lieutenant salutes a captain)

enlisted do the grunt work. towards the end of my career, i got to oversee officers (and BOY DID THEY HATE THAT) and whenever we needed something done (like a closet cleaned out) the officers would go "this looks like an enlisted job"

not saying officers are terrible

or that enlisted are worthless

you need both to work cohesively in the kind of environments the military works in

usually the first 4-ish ranks on both enlisted and officers are 'give away' ranks. meaning if you don't get into a bunch of trouble, you'll make rank just based on time. after that, making rank requires testing.

even tho ranks are different across the sister branches, they also go by a number code. E-1 thru E-8 are enlisted, while O-1 thru O-6 (and higher) are officers.

so an E-2 in the Air Force is an Airman First Class

an E-2 in the Army is Private 2nd Class

an O-3 in the Air Force is a Captain

an O-3 in the Army is also a Captain. in fact, i'm pretty sure captain is one of the only ranks that's in all branches of the US military. so bad example. but my point still stands lmao

officers and enlisted DO NOT INTERMINGLE. seriously. no dating, no interacting outside of work (within reason), no "showing favorites". officers are untouchable gods to enlisted. it's weird. trust me.

i once matched with my lieutenant on a dating app and deleted the whole app because i was scared it was a trap (it probably was).

uhhhhh i hope that sort of helps! i figured if you were looking for actual rank names, it might be easier to google them. if youre using ranks for a story, i'd first figure out which branch you want them from and then google the ranking system. E4/O3 is when most people become competent in the military.

Heaven official’s blessing (or tgcf as its more commonly called in the fandom - it’s short for the chinese name tian guan ci fu) is actually not what the untamed is based on . It’s based on the founder of diabolism.) bit tgcf is a great choice (it has an anime too in netflix under the same name) and both books have the same author - mo xiang tong xi or mxtx for short. She actually has another book called scum villain’s self saving system which i also recommend. Theyre all fairly long-ish but i think tgcf is the longest one.

Danmeis are actually pretty varied and has so many sub genres. Some translators will password lock theirs until you provide proof that you bought a copy off of the authors site of choice like JJWXC as a way to support the author which i fully support!

Were you homeschooled? If you were, I have literally no socialization when it comes to people besides family. My mental health is rotting, I'm extremely emotionally sensitive, and I feel I really need friends, like it just feels like it would help alot.

What do you think?

i was only homeschooled for 8th grade, but i do get the sentiment of not knowing how to make friends. i used to have a big friend group that i've since lost bc back in 2020 my best friend of 10 years (and basically my life line to that group) decided she didn't want to be friends with me anymore bc her life was too stressful and she figured she was a shit friend anyway so she should cut me loose (along with a mirade of other things that went on that she blamed it on). so, i haven't had a core group of friends in a long time and i struggle to connect with ppl.

i will say, your best bet - at least at first - is to try to make friends online based on things/fandoms you are a part of. i have my couple friends on here, and even tho we almost exclusively talk about snc related shit, i still count them as my closest friends. and it's nice to be able to talk to them about that stuff.

and as for in real life stuff you can do to make friends, idk how old you are, but try to see if there are any local groups or events you can join in your area. see if there is a book group at your local library, see if there are any classes at a community center you can take. hell, even getting a job where some of the ppl in that place are the same age as you is good starting point as well. when you are in forced proximity with ppl, you tend to befriend others more often. that's why a lot of us were even able to have friends in school.

try to go into everything with an open mind. and genuinely remember that 99% of ppl are a, in the same boat as you (confused and don't know what to do next) and b, aren't trying to hurt your feelings. most ppl are nice. of course there are assholes, but try not to let ppl like that bring you down. and gentle reminder, you most likely are not as awkward as you feel. and i know that from personal experience lol

also, my biggest recommendation is working on yourself as well and learning to become your own best friend. i know that's very cliche and silly to say, but highkey one of the best choices i ever made was learning to cut myself some slack and start being nice to myself. if you can afford it, consider therapy. but i know that's not always an option for ppl (even myself). try to do some introspection on who you are, the obstacles you've gone thru and overcame, and do your best to be nice to yourself. i'm telling you, when you start to actually like yourself and give yourself a break, especially on the things you had no control over in the first place, life starts to feel a lot less harder to deal with.

even if your first step is to start reading self help books - do that. write out your feelings more, explore why you act the way you do and if that's something you want to change. set goals that are reasonable, put pride into yourself. treat yourself like you would someone you are friends with. think of yourself as someone worthy of love, bc you are.

but let it be known that this will not happen overnight. i wish it did, but it took me YEARS, i truly mean years, to finally start liking myself and having any resemblance of confidence. it will not happen in one go. you have to be consistent and constantly working on yourself. and i know that can be difficult. but in the long run it will do wonders for yourself.

i wish i had all the answers for you, and i wish i knew the best course for you to take. and i wish you all the luck in the world. i truly believe you will make friends and start a great path on your mental health journey. it won't be easy, and it will take a lot of time, but it's worth it bc you deserve that. you deserve happiness <3

omg thank u!! 14. best book i read this year? i have been flopping largely with reading whole books there's just been so much shit going on. hmm but i read most of the house of forgetting by benjamin alire saenz (actually i need to see if i have my copy w me i wanna finish) and liked it. im reading tsh for the first time now and enjoying it so far! im really hoping to do more reading in the new year and i think i can finally be successful in that now that im winding down in school yk. it's been a bit hellish

18. a memorable meal this year? hmmmmm... i went to the smokehouse grill and me and two of my friends got high beforehand lol and then i was sitting next to this alum whose movie ive seen now like. 3 times? and felt like i was making such awkward conversation but he was cool. and our prof was walking around and he was so stressful lmfao but like we were at the finish line that was the last day of class i think so we'd all been thru hell u just have to trust me there. and one girl got the dinner singer to sing happy birthday to him which was just really funny (was not his bday) and also our ta's girlfriend (who was just there. instead of us say having a second ta to help. i forgive them the tiniest bit for being lesbians even tho they're boring) got up on stage to sing and ATE HIS ASS UP. oh i bet that guy was embarrassed lolll. i also started following recipes and getting more experimental with cooking this year so that was nice!

in one of my posts about this au I talked about penny having to calm constance down from a panic attack about not being able to ever speak to her parents again. it's an unspoken rule between all of them that you never get involved with someone visiting their parents cause it can be very emotional and they all understand that. but, penny breaks the rule once without telling constance and she finds her there, crying. she lets constance talk through her to her mom, and even tho constance is a little upset, she ends up being really grateful for it in the end

Everyone knows him as a serious leader, but he's just a sucker for Sokka! I love the way they bring out the best in eachother. 💗Zuko picking out the armbands!!!! Not me spinning around and twirling my hair cause Sokka said "later"!!!!!! The implications of it all. The teasing in public is painfully sweet. And Zuko getting grumpy when Sokka talks about The Boulder wjhsjdjsjsjs I am snort-cackling that is fucking adorable!!!! I live for the different sides of these characters in your writing! I'm so used to imagining Zuko as prickly (which he is) but seeing him become someone who can be playful and unbearably attentive? It's so nice! I love that you enjoyed the opener and that all the cuteness and domesticity hit right from the start! I'll admit I didn't even truly register that Sokka was spending too long picking out an accessory for their go-unnoticed-outfits, but that is absolutely what he is doing and Zuko is absolutely here for it haha. I'm so happy their comfort with each other came through so clearly, and the ways they're in sync with each other's habits and moods and just that their love was so obvious right from the first scene!

I'm also doing a little happy dance that you've already read it a few times, rereading is truly such an amazing compliment. And Zuko is a sneak! I'm cracking up that you thought it was going to be a cute sunset picnic from the start, that is very much not it even though that is also very nice. But Zuko has plans for this day. He's got goals and an agenda and he might not be entirely sure how it's going to come about but he's going to make sure it happens haha

It's so fun seeing all the little details that stood out to you, from Zuko's vernacular to the flirting moments (both blatant and subtle lol) to Zuko lording his current height over Sokka (I like to believe it's a constant and very smug competition for them) to their bickering basically being some light foreplay. It's the enemies to lovers in them :P

And it's so lovely to see that even in the midst of all their ass-grabbing and arguing-as-flirting that those moments of romance shone through, too! Zuko automatically taking care of Sokka with his heat bending, them paying such close attention to each other because they want to make each other happy, both of them being such dorks and so into it with each other haha. And that the moments are not only cute and sweet but feel so realistic just puts such a smile on my face. It's such an amazing compliment that they feel so human when I write them, truly it means so much to hear, and I'm just beyond happy that you think the way I write Sokka's thought process is so cool!! He's simultaneously about the details and also the free-associating from topic to topic and I love how you frame that chain of thought that gets him from 'Zuko isn't stopping' to executing a plan to give Zuko something he wants.

It makes me so happy too that their flirting and playfulness was so fun to read and had you smiling so much! Zuko absolutely being focused and determined and totally gone on Sokka when they get the chance to just be with each other. I love those moments when there's that window into their relationship vs how they might appear to someone on the outside, and it's so awesome that you can see the way they bring out the best in each other like that!

I love that the armband scene had you spinning around and twirling your hair! I apparently can't resist slipping an engagement tease into fics about the two of them haha. And that the teasing in general was so sweet is such an awesome thing to hear. That all their winding each other up still had such affection and sweetness to it for you is so wonderful, and I've been smiling ever since this ask came through that my writing shows you so many different sides of these characters (especially when it comes through fun little moments like Sokka's crush on the Boulder haha), that is so sweet and I'm genuinely so touched that my fics showcase these different facets of their personalities in a way that feels so authentic to them still.

first of all, your simblr is all up to you and how you want to customize it (tumblr theme, format of posts, etc)... just remember that you have total control over what you post and all that. ppl on here are usually very nice and welcoming so be free with your own creativity and what you think looks nice/makes YOU happy, no judgment!

you can grab inspiration from everyone here and incorporate that into your gameplay/simblr which i think is totally fine. you're kind of finding your own style in a way. don't straight up plagarize tho and claim someone else's work as yours :'|

taking screenshots is a little tough bc some things can enhance the way they look for example reshade/gshade, your in-game settings, and pretty much manually editing thru editing software which you kind of have to explore if it's for you or not.

how satisfied you are with your screenshots may change over time (ik mine did), so try to keep that in mind. it's a sign of growth!

actually taking the screenshots, i mainly follow the rule of balance in photos that i learned back in art class in high school. i try to make the picture interesting through different angles/perspectives that make the picture look full and not just have the focus only on one side (if that makes sense). symmetry is also good.

having good lighting is also good which you can get by in-game buydebug lights or just editing your pictures.

filters add a lot of character to screenshots, so use those to your liking.

try to zoom in as much as you can when you take pictures so that it looks less fish eye?? (i think thats the term) lol -> obviously this might not work if you're taking room-wide screenshots

no drift cam mod is a must if you want precise screenshots and dont have to fight the camera to sit on the spot you want it on ;^;

no camera fade for sims so your sims dont disappear while taking pictures LOL

i had a lot i wanted to say but today's been a long and busy day and my brain is fried

i will say that i thought i would hate this episode more than i did rewatching it. i don't like lila bc i don't like liars and i was just as incensed as ladybug in this episode when i first watched it, but i found i didn't care much this time. i still hate lila and liars, but like i'm more chill about the fake ppl on my screen this time lol

i'll probably get irritated about her later on bc i know the gist of other things she does and says and pulls, but knowing it's thru the lens of the writers punishing marinette for existing, i can better direct my anger and frustration in a more constructive media critical way than before.

that said, i actually thought this was the most well-paced episode so far. it could be my tired brain, but this episode didn't feel like 25 minutes, it actually felt longer and like they got a whole narrative into such a short amount of time.

but that's the only praise i'll give it.

i have a few small nitpicks. like the fact that adrien says he has fencing soon when heading out but really, it's just. school? i think?? bc when we arrive, it's all about lila. no one has gone to class. lila pulls adrien into the library, and like 15 minutes their time later, adrien has fencing??? they didn't even go to class?? there are others, but i'm blanking and i should be getting to sleep very soon now.

the bigger stuff tho? the fact that marinette has to learn a lesson once again for making a mistake and no one else ever encounters anything like that. chat noir doesn't understand why ladybug doesn't like lila and lila becomes a main antagonist in the series.

and look, on paper, during like brainstorming sessions, that's not a bad thing. if you made a bullet point list of things you wanted to include in this series/episodes, marinette misusing her powers at ladybug to get between adrien and lila bc she's jealous, and lila becoming a more permanent antagonist is not a bad thing. it adds drama and heightens stakes, and it gives flaws to marinette. but as i've been saying this whole season, that only works if they write this shows like it's serialized. but they don't!!

you can't keep punishing marinette and having her solely learn lessons and 1) not give other characters arcs to make mistakes and grow and 2) never have marinette herself grow, either. it just gets annoying after a while.

the dynamic between the love square was very strange in this one. like i know there's supposed to be tension in them keeping their identities secret but talking about each other as if neither of them know each other was done very strangely, if only because ladybug gets so defensive against lila, chat noir questions why she's acting so differently.

and what was weird from a narrative standpoint to me was the fact that chat noir never questions ladybug's extreme reaction to volpina's illusion of dropping adrien off the effiel tower. nor does he question her instance on checking on adrien, attributing it instead to her stubbornness. it just felt very, very strange.

i wish i could articulate it better but my brain has been mush all day and i'm very tired.

let's just leave it at the writing was bad. but what's new.

i'll end a positive for once tho, i did think chat noir trying to convince ladybug that volpina didn't have adrien was very funny. the "i'm not even gonna try to get myself out of this one" actually elicited a spontaneous smile. like that joke was funny on purpose and i liked it.

this was all happening the week of my first exam. the first exam in the year im retaking. i.e. i wanna do good. at my uni, you can only fail the same year once. if i fail again i get kicked out.

so stress levels thru the roof. and sometimes, when the vibes are off, my throat does this thing where it kinda shuts down lol. it closes off completely and i cant swallow. usually it lasts from a couple hours to maybe a day or two. its not very painful most of the time, just makes eating a bit difficult. usually i can manage a few bites and liquids.

THIS TIME it was absolutely excruciating. was in so much pain, literally tried to eat a SINGLE GRAIN OF RICE. dying. water?? like lava. nothing went down.

i didnt wanna make a fuss cuz i was like almost definitely psychosomatic and will probs go down after my exam. i usually get it exam season and it goes away after. exam comes and goes. pain does not. i mention it to my mom. we go to the doctor. they give me, i kid u not, a shopping bag of loose pills.

dont get me wrong super grateful for our health care system it is free and relatively easy to navigate but man do doctors hate women.

at this point, im on maybe two days of no food or water. we go to an emergency room. the doctor, in front of my face, turns to my mom and says. “you know how girls are, so dramatic”

i'm not in any way a seasoned expert since i've only seen a handful within the last 2 months or so, but i can tell you ones i've enjoyed. i'll only list ones that have a least 1 season completed.

erkenci kus / early bird is available on youtube with ok english subs. it's a typical summer dizi romcom with the rich boss falling for his working class employee. the twist is they accidentally kiss in the dark when he mistakes her for his gf before they officially meet. it's definitely a "he fell first, she fell harder" situation. this was the one i started with and it set the bar high, the chemistry alone was so intense. the mmc can (pronounced like jon) is gorgeous and the fmc sanem is so funny and talented. it was actually a friend of mine who got me into this cause she saw it blowing up on like tiktok or insta and she started watching and loved it. by the time she got me into it it literally became my whole personality and i passed her in episodes and finished the series way before she did lol. it's a commitment like most dizis. we're talking 2+ hr episodes, 51 episodes in total. thankfully youtube cut them into like 45min increments.

sen cal kapimi i used a super sus website to watch called turkish123 idk if there's a better site out there, but i would try to look for one. anyway this was probably my fave dizi cause the story was well structured (same writer as erkenci kus) and great chemistry with the leads as well. it's another typical summer romcom, but with enemies to lovers. starts with a fake engagement to make the mmc's ex jealous and eventually leads to both mmc and fmc falling hard for each other. this has 2 seasons, 52 episodes.

gunesi beklerken is more of a teen drama that was giving me BH90210 / the oc vibes with how ridiculous some of the plots and drama was. overall very fun watch. i absolutely hated the mmc, but also he was the most interesting character so i was rooting for him at the same time wishing for his downfall lol. if you are into fun nonsense then i would rec this one. it starts with the fmc moving to istanbul with her mother and attending a private school where she immediately gets swept up into dumb politics with the school bully (the mmc). definitely enemies to lovers. i'm not really into bully romances and i did not ship the main couple (tho the chem was there), but they both gave as good as they got and it was just a legitimate fun and insane watch. i watched this one on another sus site called serial4u.net it's 54 episodes.

adim farah is the last one i will mention. this show has been remade a few times, including in the US. it's enemies to lovers. the fmc is an immigrant working as a cleaning lady to pay for her son's medical expenses. she accidentally witnesses a mob murder and when caught she manages to convince them to let her live and she will work for them. there's a lot of intrigue and not one episode is filler like a lot of dizis. the chem is good with the leads and they have some surprisingly sweet moments between them. this one is on dailymotion. season 1 is 14 episodes (the finale had me shaken), season 2 will be coming out this fall.

one i haven't tried, but it's on every list of the best dizis is kara sevda/endless love. i don't think i will bother since i know it has a pretty sad ending, but if you are into pain maybe check that one out lol. i ended up paying for a sub to kinemania which has decent translations and a lot of shows in their catalog so now i don't need to navigate thru sus websites or deal with a million ads.
