#al-an#al an subnautica#sbz#subnautica below zero#subnautica architects#subnautica precursors#this one might be my favorite#boioioioing#he jumps like a little bug#why is he so flexible i feel like he shouldn’t be with how his skeleton is structured#whatever that just means he can potentially dance and i want to see that

guys I have a feeling that my soulmate might be a doctor
#signs in the world are telling me. all those tarot readings cannot be wrong#still don’t know how I feel about that honestly. it’s also supposed to be someone w like an outgoing personality. someone that many people#recognise and like….. nd idk. I haven’t met many doctors who had big personalities like that#also the fact that they’re supposed to be really pretty. nd like conventionally speaking not just to me but to most others is stressing me#OUTTTTTTTTT they’ll be looking like they’re doing charity work or something. man#also the fact that medicine is so structured nd disciplined nd they’re supposed to be the easy going one#while I’M on a more flexible path while being the one craving stability#idk makes me think plenty. I wanna meet them already :(

Thinking about how El wasn't originally gonna be past season 1 and how they were able to weave her independence arc into their original plan seamlessly and how without her, Byler would have still just been a boy who went missing with his best friend there supporting them but when they get a little too close his best friend pushes back and starts getting defensive. They make up, but then he moves and his best friend doesn't keep in touch, and he visits for spring break because he already bought the tickets and he promised to but it's weird and tense. But then he apologizes and they get closer than ever as they road trip back to where the danger is.
That also, as I say it, makes sense why THAT story would have taken 4 seasons. This isn't the only thing they needed to extend for pacing, but I feel like part of it is...the painting adds a season. El adds a season for Mike to get there.
#stranger things#byler#cool idea#it's still most consistent#the duffer brothers#details are flexible but the structure is there with mike in a relationship or not#running away doesn't require him to run to something

Color shifts at nanoscale: Researchers develop real-time visualization system to observe stretchable technology
A research team at POSTECH has developed a breakthrough technology that analyzes in real-time the deformation of "serpentine" structures, a critical component of stretchable technology, and visualizes the process through color changes. The team, led by Professor Su Seok Choi from the Department of Electrical Engineering, included doctoral candidates Sanghyun Han, Junho Shin, Jiyoon Park, and master's students Hakjun Yang and Seungmin Nam. The study was published in the December online edition of the journal Advanced Science. Flexible and deformable electronics have advanced beyond bendable, foldable, rollable, and slidable designs to fully stretchable systems that allow freeform deformation. Stretchable technology is gaining traction in diverse fields, such as displays, sensors, semiconductors, electronic skin, biomimetic robots, and smart clothing.

something I didn't realize before I wrote Breaking Fate is truly how much you can write in a couple of months if you write a couple hundred words per day.
You can have a 15k fic done in a month if you just write 500 words per day.
In a little over three months, you can have a 50,000 word longfic. If you wanna be ambitious and write 1,000 words a day, it'll take you half that time.
If you just wanna get a 5000 word longfic out but only have like 15 minutes once a week, well, it will take you a little under five months, but then you'll be done.
And if you only write 250 words once a week, well, it may take you four years, but by then, you will have your 50,000 word novel that you almost certainly wouldn't have had if you didn't make the plan.
and the time will pass anyways. You can have something to show for it. that's amazing to me
#I need to do the same thing with scheduling my reading#sounds like insane lunatic behavior but quite frankly#my brain likes structure as long as it is flexible#and i'll probs finish reading more books that way lol#ramblings#my problem was wanting to be able to write 5000 words every two days#which is possible. but. yeah that's quite the schedule#that's like a professional author's writing schedule

Oooooh just remembered I kept my punked-up white Converse (wrote song lyrics all over in black Sharpie and put red laces on them) so maybe I'll use those instead of the black combat boots for my Punk Nightcrawler costume
#I'll have to see how they both look but the white shoes would be a little more comic-accurate#I have red tights so it'll be black cargo capris to red tights to white Converse. same color structure as the comic suit#plus the converse will be a little easier to kick around in during the party (love my boots but they are pretty heavy)#and I think of the two options Nightcrawler would pick a flexible shoe over a boot

Shout out to this specific illustration of Izutsumi's claws Ryoko Kui's Daydream Hour 3 for being the closest representation to how I picture Arsay's claws. Granted Arsay's are longer, but I've always been into the idea of them being retractable to a degree. Arsay trims them often but they also grow pretty fast!
#Arsay Nun#arsay nun lore#I know there was a post about miqote claw anatomy floating around a bit ago and I feel like this kinda lined up with one of the suggestions#though iirc that one was illustrated to be more aligned with cat skeletal structure in mind#and I think keeping the human hand structure is a little more appealing#its a fantasy world so i think that flexibility is fine#wild ramblings

Writing Problem: The Narrative Falls Into a Repetitive Pattern
Problem: The Narrative Falls Into a Repetitive Pattern
Solution: Does the story begin at the right point? Are the characters introduced in scenes where they exert the right influence? Are the novel's emotional beats consistent (or meaningful)? What's the tempo like? Is the pacing balanced and purposeful at the sentence level, scene level, and act level? Is the story's use of description unique and dynamic? What's the difference between the author voice, the narrator voice, and the character voice? Be as flexible or inflexible as needed, but above all, be willing to learn.

i'm glad everyone else benefits from letting things happen when they happen and not forcing anything and giving themselves time but the more i live the more i learn that i actually crave and directly benefit from self-discipline and exclusively make myself worse by swallowing my own shit
#arguably i had to it-happens-when-it-happens my way to structure and integrity or else i'd have just damaged myself#by not knowing how to be flexible within firmness#but still

I stg if I see one more person say that bareback is the most ethical form of riding I'm going to rip my hair out
#Saddles specifically saddles with trees don't just exist for rider comfort#The tree helps with weight distribution#The human pelvis has two points that sit right in our butts#When we sit on a horse's back our weight is concentrated onto those two points#Saddles are also built with a gullet to keep the spine cleared#Without a saddle we are putting weight directly on the spine and longissimus dorsi#The ld is a structural muscle that needs to be flexible in order for the horse to maintain their posture#By sitting directly on it your basically putting a kink in it#And did I mention the ld basically extends the entire length of the vertebra

My new workplace had me do a little test so they could gain some insight into how I might be, and the results basically called me autistic (highlighted in bold)
"• Formal, reserved, introspective, and skeptical of new people; requires "proof" to build trust in new people.
• Detail-oriented and precise; follow-through is deep and literal to ensure tasks were completed in accordance with quality standards.
• Operationally, as opposed to socially, focused. Thinks, in specific terms, about what needs to be done and how to do it accurately and flawlessly, follows, in a literal way, that execution plan.
• Private, serious, introspective, and reserved. Takes time to connect to and trust new people.
• Focused; can concentrate on the task at hand for long periods. (Hyperfixation) Quickly notices and understands technical matters more than social ones. Consistent and patiently thoughtful.
• Works at a steady, unwavering pace; most comfortable with familiar processes, environments, and co-workers. Doesn't easily change.
Driven to protect the company against risk by thoroughly leveraging their background and strictly following "the book."
- Cautious; follows a well-established and proven plan to avoid making mistakes. Does the background research necessary to have proof to support decisions before action is taken. Detail-oriented and accommodating; most comfortable working as part of a well-defined team for which they produce high-quality output and decisions."
.
#i was trying to tell my manager that i love black and white structure as long as flexibility is within that black and white structure#i don't think he quite got it#i meant like i need black and white but within that needs to be black and white defined flexibility#you know???#but its okay its only my second day im sure if i need to emphasise that more he will get it

hey since i have access to all my phone's photos much more easily, check out my old violin

got it from my great uncle, who said it belonged to His grandpa. so we r looking at like 4 generations up here. he gave it to me in 2010 ish bc im the only person in the family that plays violin lol. & being in middle school, i named it Star :')
it still plays well, too! not my default for when i play bc i use my newer violin for that. but i still value her greatly
#speculation nation#ive posted these pics here but not in a whiiiiiiile. like over 2 years i think#which Oh Yeah i play violin. well. not so much these days. but i used to play for like 8 years#im just bad at sticking to it outside of the structure of being in an orchestra :p#but sometimes i pick it up again. i still can play. im just very out of practice lol#my left wrist has unfortunately lost a lot of its flexibility#cant turn it as far as i need to for easy playing. i need to get back into practice for that skjdflskdj#once upon a time tho i was 4th chair in the advanced orchestra of my high school#so In Theory i was the 4th best violinist out of 3 orchestras in a school of like 2k kids#i used to be Pretty Damn Good honestly. ive got great finger dexterity. unfortunately i mostly use it for video games these days#someday i do wanna join a community orchestra or something. someday...#anywys look at my violin. aint she pretty? i own an electric violin too. 3 violins. they mostly sit in a big chest sldkfjsldfj#safe and sound from the nightmare kitties

Thank you! I was just watching 6x9 and they wore the yellow suits and it didn't make much sense to me (yellow in the desert seems like lower visibility?), they so rarely wear them
Oooh no yeah they would have worn wildland gear for that brush fire as opposed to structural gear !!
#wildland gear is lightweight and more flexible#structural gear (traditional bunkers) is heavier and more protective#asks#anonymous#office hours

god bless any 9-5ers/6ers, I do not know how y’all do it.
#i haven't had a structured work schedule in years#certainly not a 9-5#i still have 6 more hours of training today#it's wild to consider that this is most ppls day-to-day lives#ajduncting is tough for a lot of reasons#but a hugely flexible schedule is not one of them
