o(-< you guys. dia ends up so happy. This whole story ends with him happy. Busy, doing things he loves, with people who love him. A house with a porch and pigeon coop and Ship Cat, who stays indoors and is pampered. A garage where he builds the most random contraptions and exploring his hobbies not out of necessity but for enjoyment. He has a job he loves, where he has fun with coworkers who respect him, and having your brother as a boss always helps. He never learns how to cook but he doesnt need to. He sits on his porch during thunderstorms with a cup of tea and feels at ease, at peace. Everything he went through up until that moment was worth it. He gets the happy ending he didnt think was possible.

New Gods November 2023 - Week 4, Day 4: Alternate Realities!

once upon a time it was said that only one version of the New Gods exist across all Earths, but its rarely reflected after that. Most of these AUs are canon, some after 1/2 canon (featuring only one of the duo), and some are my own ideas :D This december is going on three years since I got into New Gods!

Box six: Hunter and Neon Black, two men closely resembling Orion and Lightray, but with thicker armour and darker clothes. Hunter is turned away but looking over his shoulder, while Neon Black is pressed into his chest and smiling.

Box seven: Orion and Lightray based on the style of Mike Mignola, Lightray is thin and wearing a white top with a gold V mark, and long gold gloves that reach up his arms. Orion has a low cut red shirt and blue shoulderpads. He and Lightray are smiling at eachother.

Box eight: Future State Orion with a matching Lightray, their heads are pressed together and they're holding eachother's faces and smiling. Orion has pink skin and flaming hair, Lightray is similar, both have gold headpieces resembling their usual counterparts.

Box nine: The top of two mock-Simpsons style figures, one with a red/black bowlcut and one with orange hair and a silver headpiece with a "v" on it, meant to be Obrian and Flightrisk from Radioactive Man.

Box ten: Lightray faced away from the viewer, glaring at Orion, who is lacking a helmet and has long, wild hair. Orion has a darker outfit based on his Gods and Monsters uniform, with a silver harness. Barda is next to him in an outfit similar to her regular one, she looks concerned and is reaching to pull Orion back. Behind them are buildings from New Genesis.

Box eleven: Orion's death scene from Gods and Monsters, Lightray is holding Orion back while Highfather's staff kills him.

1: Orihound and Lightstray from the New Dogs (Earth C-Minus). Inspired by the art in their first/only appearance Captain Carrot and the Final Ark #3, by Scott Shaw, Scott Koblish, Tom Luth, and Drew Moore.

2: Thorion and Bald’r the Lightbringer of the New Asgods (Amalgam Earth). Inspired by the art . 

3: Lightray and Orion as members of the Lantern corps, designed by me. In this universe, an Apokolips-raised Orion loses all sense of control when given the red ring and decimates the population of Apokolips, then turns on Atrocitus for manipulating his mind. Seeing a threat to all Lantern Corps, Lightray of New Genesis volunteers to defeat Orion and retrieve his ring. Lightray’s design is based on his formal wear from volume 3, Orion’s is based on his rebirth uniform. OK i dont know if they can work out in this one honestly i just thought it’d be cool, theoretically 

4. Lightraydactyl and Orionodon, designed by me. The JL fighting Darkseid instead of Orion is a pet peeve of mine, but Jurassic League didnt even leave room for the New Gods to exist. i love the dinosaurs comic though Lightray was pretty straightforward, Orion’s design took inspiration from Darklyoseid’s canon design by Juan Gedeon, a sabertooth tiger (for Tigra), and Orion’s main universe costume for the colours.

5. Orion and Lightray Mechs. DC Mech killed Orion off in issue one boooooo! but it did mean i didnt have to design my own for his (Lightray's is mine though). This was inspired by one of the covers for Pacific Rim, because I will be thinking about a pacrim AU for them forever now.

6. Hunter and Neon Black. These guys aren’t actually LR and Orion, just two random inmates disguised as evil versions of them iirc, but I liked Neon Black’s design.

7. Orion and Lightray, Mike Mignola’s scrapped 1990′s New Gods animated film designs.

Basically I’ve written something, and I’m gonna share it on here with you lot cause,

Well I think the worlds a pretty sad place and hopefully this will help some people to think differently, anywhere here ya go

I am just another girl,

who’s been going through some pain,

I scribble stuff on paper,

to ease it in different ways,

I’ve been thinking to myself lately, without sharing what I feel, I’m basically just moaning at myself about stuff I shouldn’t conceal,

Because most of us feel the same, atleast that’s what I’m told, so I want to share this, without seeming bold,

Because I’m just another girl, who’s experiencing some pain, I scribble stuff on paper, to make it go away,

I want to share my story, brief as can be, because the story is about you as much as it’s about me..

I’m told it can be similar, for the people in despair

I’m told our lives don’t differ much, if only we compare,

So I’m sitting down and I’m thinking about it, and I just feel like none of you have written about it,

the way we individually sit here and doubt it, our life’s worth and

how aren’t we proud of it?

Just makes me think how is our head that clouded, cause if my mother was here she’d be astounded,

At the nerve that I have, speaking so proudly,

About the problems of the world, when they speak for themselves so loudly.

I’ve been increasingly sickened by the world, the past few years, and as I grow older, I struggle to hold back my tears,

I know this might seem a simple poem, with a mediocre explanation,

But sometimes I find it hard, to even have this conversation, because

It’s so common today, to excuse someone’s situation, but I wanted to sit and talk to you, about a common contemplation,

And with the recent events in the world,

and I think it’s a good time to bring it up,

Just how many things in the world, really fucking suck😂..

No seriously I think it’s a good time to bring it up, it really isn’t difficult, to feel a certain kinda stuck, the kinda stuck when you don’t know who to tell, water up to your neck, you have to tilt your head to yell, screaming from your lungs, crying out for help,

Suddenly you’re gone, and all the pain it melts

And see it only gets sadder

The deeper that you delve

I am one of many, whom have felt this way, since 12,

And see it’s like a war zone

That not many understand,

see I’m standing in the war zone and I’m the only man,

There are weapons available, but not easily you see, because I’m in command and you are fighting you with me?

And so I want to talk about the conflict that I have at hand, I’m trying to word this in ways, positive people understand,

Many of us think, through a voice we hear in our heads, it is basically there to help us take the right steps?

but some of us are struggling, sometimes it leads us astray,

it has led so many, to create their last day

And so I’m wording it funny, beating round the bush? Sometimes all people need is a little push.

and I’m getting annoyed now, because I’m told it is cowardly. To end a life lived that was fought so powerfully.

It is not cowardly, to make a decision, to live a life outside of prison,

and so many of us make these choices, by obeying the rules of society,

but some will tell you “it’s just a fire inside of me”

I just stopped to breathe

So if you’re thinking of taking your life, could that be all you need?

I know that it’s a war zone inside, but don’t do it yet I plead,

Because I’ve sat where you are today, stay for another moment please,

I’m not saying if you stay until tomorrow that you are destined to succeed, I’m saying if you don’t, how can you wait and see?

And so I’m just another girl, who’s been going through some pain, I like to write stuff down to erase it from my brain,
