yeah so the tea is, he's been married for like 10+ years and three years ago his wife left him for a woman. like she just left without a warning and lucien was devastated. bc he's always wanted to be married and he was 55 when she left and like yeah he had to come to terms with the fact that he's gonna be alone for the rest of his life. and yeah it was very tough for him.

their marriage wasn't an ordinary one because they both went into it without wanting to have children. and they've never had sex because she's a lot younger than him and he thought it would be weird (plus he's on the asexual spectrum so like yeah). but he's always dreamt of being married for life like his parents who've been together for like 60 years now. as he explained, to him marriage is about being complicit and existing as one unit, sleeping in the same bed, kissing and holding hands. and when she left, his whole life projects were shattered.

but here's the thing, they've been separated for three years, but they're still legally married and they see each other every day. he says that they have a brother/sister sort of relationship. like they still talk, they're still on good terms, but they live separately, have different lives, and don't kiss or hold hands.

oh and she's diagnosed borderline. and also quite strange, but more normal than him.

and now for the drama, i posted about it on here. but basically lucien and i went to skating camp together and his wife is very unhappy. which is like, fair. in normal people's world it is weird that he paid for this whole trip for me. but he also spends 30k on measuring equipment because he likes to measure things (literally don't ask to explain, it's his little hyperfixation that has no logical explanation behind it). and we're not in love with each other, we address each other as "vous", we almost never see each other face to face. and plus also she left him! so she can have a gf, but lucien can't hang out with a friend? i mean that's not really the point and her feelings are valid, i don't have anything against her, but it's just awkward for me, you know?

and lucien isn't really a great diplomat. bc she was invited to the trip too originally, but idk what he said to her to make her feel this way. and he doesn't do anything to fix the situation either.

so during the trip he didn't post any photos of me. and his wife posted a black and white photo of her smoking with the caption "when times are tough... 🖤" and then she reposted someone's video with joker makeup. and i was like girlieee i am so sorry :///

All right, so for those of you who didn’t come over from DeviantArt, there’s a yearly event called Flash Fiction Month (FFM), where participants write a piece of super short fiction every day of July.  There are challenges and competitions all sorts of craziness; it’s great.  When I started FFM, I decided that, since July and August both have 31 days, I could impose an additional challenge on myself where I draw a piece of art each day of August that corresponds with the stuff I wrote on the same day of July.  The group itself is DA-based, so I have to post all my written work there; however, I’m now going to be posting the art part of it here!  In... October.  It took me a while to get around to making this blog, okay?  I’ll upload them alongside my Inktober pieces this time around; next year, they’ll be posted in August as usual.  I hope you enjoy it!
