Nessel-Turnüre - Nettle bustle  seidig glatt - flexibel schwingend, stabil und natürlich zerbrechlich

der Prozess: 

Die frisch geschnittenen Brennesselstengel werden von den Blättern befreit.  Der Schaft wird vorsichtig gespalten und geöffnet.  An einem Ende des Stieles wird ein Stück abgeknickt, damit man die Fasern greifen und abziehen kann - ein sehr archaischer Vorgang. Stiel für Stiel. Fasterstrang für Faserstrang. Die Fasern wurden für das Nesselhemd gesammelt.  Übrig bleibt das Bastgewebe der Stiele -  diese werden vorsichtig mit einem Nudelholz ausgerollt.  Dann werden die flachen Stengel entweder direkt über eine Form gezogen und eingebunden, bis sie getrocknet sind.  Oder sie werden auf einen Stoff genäht und dann in Form gebracht.  Sie behalten ihre Form. Sie schwingen mit und erweisen sich als relativ stabil.

The Process: The freshly cut stinging nettle stems are freed from the leaves.  The stem is carefully split and opened.  A piece is snapped off one end of the stem so that the fibers can be grasped and pulled off - a very archaic process. Stem by stem. Fiber strand by fiber strand. The fibers were collected for the nettle shirt.  What remains is the bast fabric of the stems - these are carefully rolled out with a rolling pin.  Then the flat stems are either pulled directly over a mold and tied until they dry.  Or they are sewn onto a fabric and then shaped.  They keep their shape. They swing and prove to be relatively stable.  website
