So here's a thought.... (Diasomnia Fae Rambles)

Ok Diasomnia lovers, I has another theory dump lol

So dragon fae - the Draconias being the most prominent examples in game - are born from eggs and are born as literal baby dragons as we have seen from Chapter 7.

And as we have seen there are other nocturnal fae that take after animals such as bat fae like Lilia or crocodile fae like Baul and his daughter.

So...was Lilia born as an actual baby bat? Was Baul and his daughter hatched from eggs?? I have so many questions lol.

Lilia clearly has little bat familiars that visit him during lessons and during his dream sequence, the man literally appears with a whole colony of bats like friggin Batman. Or like the zodiac members in Fruits Basket that attract their animals in real time lol. Which honestly is stupidly charming and I love it.

It makes me wonder about Baul's time before living in Briarland/Briar Valley. I forget where exactly it was mentioned, but I do recall Baul saying that he's native to Sunset Savanna. Did he just randomly come across crocodiles in the wild? Like he had a pool by his house and crocodiles would be drawn to him and just come vibe in his backyard lol. In relation to my fae OC characters like Tai who is a fox fae: would he run into wild foxes while hanging out in the woods? Ok that would be stupidly cute actually oh lawd. Or more importantly...when Lilia's baby girl Hildie is born, is she a lil humanoid fae baby or a tiny baby bat that eventually takes on a human form???? *serotonin explosion* Anyhoo. There y'all go. Feel free to discuss lol.

I wonder what Kyoko would've thought of Shigure. She's the only non-Sohma adult in the series who's also in his age group (albeit barely - she's about a decade older than him) and I feel like her optimism combined with her no-nonsense sensibilities would've been an interesting foil to Shigure's morally grayness hidden under a cheerful exterior.

They probably could have bonded over pursuing socially unacceptable relationships and being outcasts in their family (if Shigure was ever able to be even slightly honest with her, that is). I don't think they'd have hung out often, but in a Kyoko Lives AU where Tohru befriends Kyo and Yuki, it's likely they would've had to meet at least once or twice. I can't tell if they'd like each other or if it'd be more of a "polite acquaintances" sort of thing. Probably some awkward mixture of both lol.

Anywho, sorry this is a day late, y'all. I attended a con this weekend and was prepping for the event all last week, so I didn't have my usual time to write, but I still wanted to do this prompt.

Fun fact, the idea was sparked by THIS Tumblr post by fellow author @cinderella-ish It made me go back to the bonus comic and be reminded that Saki is the person who likes to say out of pocket stuff and rile people up sometimes.

To give a one-minute summary of this canon-divergent timeline: Akito broke things off with Shigure before the main trio graduated in order to spend some time on her own (but not alone) figuring herself out. So when we pick up three years later, she's single (but not alone) and doing a decent job at, well, doing her actual job and getting her life started. She's then thrown a metaphorical wrench in the form of her new hired servant, Tedachi (And because this is a shoujo, we all know exactly where this is going). He quickly proves himself a good worker and through a series of circumstances (including HIM being charged with taking care of her during a bout of illness), they move from a professional relationship, to friendship, and soon, a romantic relationship. In short: Yes. She's dating "the help." And at this point, it's a secret from everyone except close family and friends (which is why Saki knows).

By this point in the timeline, they've been together a few months and she even took him along on a family holiday to the summer house after being invited by Shima (who asked everyone going if they were OKAY with sharing space with Akito), which is where this picks up.

how come there aren't any fics where we see rin's life post-canon. am i the only one who actually wants to see her college life and what she's majoring in and all that? most of all, GIVE HER FRIENDS. i love the hc that she and machi just befriend each other (though it is a bit awkward at first) because of them sharing similar classes and having the same interests in art. i can definitely see machi having an interest in painting or just the history of art in general. it's all so fascinating to her and when she learns that rin likes to paint in her free time?! ugh the potential! someone make this a reality, please and thank you.
