where: gambol and japes wizarding joke shop.
who: james potter; @jamesffleamont.
Molly would be damned of she didn’t do something fun for herself once in a while. She may have been a mom, a wife — and a housewife at that — but she was fun, quirky and one of a kind. She was multi-faceted and that’s what made her Molly Weasley. She grew up with two brothers who were always up to something and she had learned from them in her own Molly fashion. That hadn’t gone away with being a mom and a few years added to her life.
The plan was to meet James at the joke shop. She hadn’t been in quite some time and was excited. This time she wasn’t going to surprise anything for the boys, she was going for herself. She was the prankster. Normally she would have asked one, or both, of her brothers to join her but they were busy with work and their own lives and Molly didn’t want to wait. So instead she took advantage of the young boy who spent so much time with them growing up.
James may as well have been her younger brother with as much time as they spent together. They were both attached to Gideon and Fabian so it wasn’t unlikely that they became somewhat of a pair themselves. It would be nice to spend a day with him and she knew he would love a trip like this one.
When he finally showed up Molly pointed to her wrist. “Never on time, boy. Now let’s get to cracking!” She grabbed his arm and dragged him into the shop.
"he looks lonely, i'm gonna talk to him maybe he needs a friend."
Their current impression:
"he may not be my brother by blood but he will always be my brother and family, i love him. i will always be there for him no matter what we're going through he will always be one of the most important people in my life."
What they like the most about your muse:
that she can always count on him to be there no matter what
What they dislike the most about your muse:
that he's a stubborn fuck and doesn't listen when sometimes it's for his own well being.
What your muse is for them ( Friend, lover, rival ecc.):
LITTLE brother, family
A general opinion of their relationship:
she's still very protective over james and thinks he deserves the world and shouldn't settle for anything less than such but loves him and is so glad she befriended him as kids
If applicable, something they wish to reveal:
"i'm afraid to tell you about something because i feel like you're going to be mad and i know you won't yell at me but i don't want to see the look you might give me when i tell you."
“ im glad i could make you cave.. ” an easy smile on her lips, as she clearly overfilled the champagne glasses. it had been a long night. she deserved it. after all, her husband was suddenly working late with his secretary.. “ oh so you’re using me for my expensive champagne now? ” she teased playing off his wink. the crystal brim pressed to her lips, letting it sit there for a moment. " you're lucky i don't mind. "
He invited Sara because she deserves to have a good time and treat herself sometimes. Also, trees (aka tall, shy men who go by the name of Chuck) get lonely too. He’d be happy to know a familiar face will be there amongst all the masks. He’s hoping to see some other friends including: Mara, Mari, his brother, Harper, Sam, Sloane and James as well… That said for those that came with someone explicitly he would never want to third wheel. 😅
Remus in the Films: Your mother was there for me when no one else was. Your father? Oh yes, him. I think we were classmates, I'm not quite sure tbh, Harry.
Remus in the books: You had a mother? Who cares about her? Let me talk about your father...Your father was perfect, the handsomest man to ever man handsomely, he could do no wrong, the second coming of Merlin he was, I'd have suck his cock if he asked. Sorry, pretend you didn't hear this last part, Harry.
" you don't mean that ... " her voice was barely a whisper. saying it too loud made it all too real. she wanted him more than anything, but how long could their fairytale last ? her finger tips brushed his lips, eyes dancing along the curve of his mouth. over the past few weeks she found herself pouring and pouring all the love she had into his soul, until she felt like she had nothing left. " im — in love with you. " she had no choice but to finally admit.
👂 to overhear my muse talking about yours. (Ellis/Sidney)
"I'm just saying..."
"I didn't ask."
Sidney turned to snap at his brother, "Bitch. I'm trying to have an actual ass conversation with you." When his hand fell to slap against his thigh in exasperation his bracelets jingled against each other. Even when he wasn't performing himself some part of Sidney had to be making a statement. "Because I care about you."
Sutton, ever the less glamorous, less approachable shadow of his brother stood with his back against the brick wall of Birch Bar.
"I know. I'm sorry."
They were silent for a moment.
"You seemed to really like him. That's all." Sidney returned to primping in his compact mirror. "God damn."
Sutton didn't respond, flame from his lighter shining on his face for a moment.
"It's like..." Sidney snapped his mirror shut, popping one shoulder up in a shrug, "You finally meet someone you actually want to be around and then Ellis freaks the fuck out..."
Sutton exhaled.
"-- And then it all just... falls apart?"
His brother's brow furrowed, incredulous, "I didn't stop seeing James because of Ellis, Sidney."
Another shrug from Sidney, holding out a manicured hand for his brother to give him a cigarette, "Ok."
"Ok."
"Ok." Sidney held up his hands, "...Forget I brought it up..." They smoked in silence for a moment before Sidney tilted his head to look at Sutton. He held his hand out again which Sutton grumbled about but took. They pressed their thumbs together. It was their secret handshake. It was how they silently said: I'm upset with you but I still love you. "I just want you to be happy, Soo."
Sometimes, James is afraid all of this might be a dream.
He’s always lived a pretty happy life. He grew up in a warm, loving home with parents who were well-off. He had the best of friends back at Hogwarts and keeps in touch with many of them even now. He likes his job, married the love of his life and they moved into the cosiest of homes a few years ago.
He truly hadn’t believed he could become any happier. And then Harry was born.
James can’t put into words how overwhelmed he feels with love and affection as he watches Regulus feed their boy spoonfuls of the baby food he prepared earlier.
Harry’s chubby cheeks are covered in the green sludge, and his husband has seemingly given up on cleaning them in between bites. James can’t blame him. It’s a rather useless undertaking.
Regulus hums interestedly as Harry babbles nonsensically, and all James can do is watch him in silence. His lover is tired, he can tell, but being the amazing father he is, he puts in unshakable effort when it comes to caring for their son.
It’s inspiring. James finds himself falling in love all over again as he watches him flourish in his role as a parent.
Once the bowl of food has been emptied, Regulus wipes a satisfied Harry’s cheeks one last time and then lifts him out of his seat.
“Let’s go pick out an outfit for Teddy’s birthday party, huh?” He says, smiling at their son as he leans against his chest. “Oh, Jamie, let’s put him in those little overalls we got him, Sirius is going to lose his mi— Are you crying?”
James blinks rapidly in an attempt to get rid of the tears that have started to form in the corners of his eyes. He knows it’s silly, but it’s almost like becoming a dad has made him so much more emotional.
Regulus walks up to him, and when he comes to a stop next to his chair, James wraps an arm around him and allows Harry to reach for his glasses.
“I’m just really happy…” He whispers.
Regulus huffs and looks rather amused by his explanation. “You’re a huge sap, Potter.” He says, but he does lean in to press a comforting kiss to his forehead.
This time around, James is one hundred percent certain; this is what peak happiness feels like.
