Honestly the weirdest thing about all the "forged medic hands" hullabaloo in MTMTE was that Ratchet's hands (and Pharma's original hands that Ratchet stole) are just like. Human hands but made of robotic parts. Why in the fuck are "Swiss army knife hands" like Pharma's Luna-1 replacements not just the literal standard for forged medics?

Isn't it so much more efficient and cooler for robots to have tools built into their hands that they can transform instead of having to go through the extra step of holding tools in their hands? Wouldn't medic hands being able to transform into any tool lend a lot more credence to Functionist ideas of "forged medic hands are the best and if my hands stop working or I get replacements it won't be the same" that Ratchet spouts? Because like at least in that case there would be this interesting robotic worldbuilding in which the space alien robots debate about whether hands-that-hold-tools can be as effective as hands-that-turn-into-tools and the flavor of that would be so cool. And it would create this whole anti-Functionist debate that a pair of hands being "less optimal" doesn't mean that the work they do isn't still worthwhile (for example, just because one doctor has a lower mortality rate than another doctor doesn't mean that both doctors aren't having a positive contribution to the world).

I've been watching the 12th division filler season for those sweet sweet screenshots of the 12th division so here are some of those. I think these are all from the first episode.

Look if no one else is gonna say it then I’ll say it:

I didn’t really like Gary and Marshall’s relationship portrayal.

Like, don’t get me wrong, I personally love Gary and Marshall and have nothin violently against them; I loved their meeting in ‘Winter King’, it was a cute and lovely side plot-! same goes with ‘The Star’- even if it was a little rushed it was generally cute.

But as in ‘Casper & Nova’, I started to have the same issue with them that I have with bubbline- where everything is abandoned in favour of one another.

It’s just kinda.. lame? Especially when Gary says like “We just met” (signifying NO time skip) and still being SO sure him and Marshall were made for one another… it’s very middle school romance cringe vibes. And when you look into it more, the more issues kinda arise from the pair.

Like… for example here,, Marshall and Ellis are clearly besties; they’ve been shown hanging out on multiple occasions, and are presumably pretty close. But since Marshall got with Gary, he has NO further interactions with Ellis? There was even a brief moment in ‘Cheers’ where the viewing party thought Ellis was just killed, and Marshall had no further emotion about it?? Like??? Dude that’s ur homeboy??? Also, with this being the second time Ellis has burst from a clothes pile in Fionna’s apartment, wouldn’t it occur to Marshall to maybe check for him?? This is clearly a reoccurring issue???

But abandoning social aspects in favour of your relationship isn’t necessarily the worst thing in the world.. but then there’s Gary.

It’s a sweet sentiment that in ‘The Star’ Gary sacrificed something near and dear to him just for Marshall’s well being, but let’s think about this for more than a second.

He had JUST met this guy, and this was his life’s DREAM he threw away. At the drop of a hat no less! His dream, which he has been planning out and perusing for god knows how long. This gives me generally the same vibes as Simon and Betty’s case, where something really special gets thrown away in order to peruse the relationship. It’s kinda icky.

I dunno, maybe I’m just a sick Marshall & Ellis fan who’s starving of interaction and am being bitter ab it, but I really didn’t like how Heart-Stopper, middle school romance cringe those two were built up to be,,, like those are two grown ass men and Marshall’s like “hold on, let me defeat this cosmic entity with a love song!” DUDE PLEASE I HATE U

so, between cuddles toothy giggles & lumpy. who hates Kyle the most and who hates him the least? and the two in between?

FINALLY i can GET TO THIS ONE. lets go on a sliding scale of "thinks he's stupid" to "thinks he's an asshole."

Lumpy thinks he's just kind of an idiot. he believes Kyle is well meaning, but is fumbling through life blindfolded with his hands behind his back, in need of a little guidance.

Toothy thinks Kyle just isn't the brightest and needs some guidance as well, but also thinks he can be unfair and a little rude.

cuddles thinks he's paranoid and pushes it on other people. in his mind, kyle is actively stopping people from doing things that could be dangerous, with no real proof that they are.

giggles thinks he's sometimes purposefully obtuse. what shes SEEING has to be on purpose. shes smart enough to recognize that he's acting with deliberateness. but hasn't quite picked up on the rhyme or reason.

for the most part they are all, of course, entirely wrong.
