I just want to give a heads up that I am no professional astrologer.. although it's funny cuz you see most users saying this here and their predictions seem pretty professional in the end no? Lol. •The sun person makes the house persons insecurities and past wounds exposed due the sun persons brightness, because of this it seems like the sun person hurts the house person unintentionally.

•The house person gets triggered a lot with certain actions of the sun person but keep in mind, the sun person has no intention of triggering the house person.

Kirishima is such a generally nice guy, he tries to be as helpful as possible in most situations and loves to feel like a protector.

And that just drove you nuts when you first met him. You took his kindness as him underestimating you so at first you didnt really like him. I think Kirishima attracts people who appears brash on the outside but are truly softies.

He basically is the rock that keeps you from going insane. Most people assume he's the sub of the relationship but he's a switch who is very in touch with his dominant side and doesn't let you walk over him.

The dynamic is him keeping your bold hotheaded ass calm while you encourage him out of his insecurities. He admires you so much and has so much respect for you. Any career would work but a hero would be best suited.

Bakugou

Scary and intimidating at first Bakugo, is working on how he views and treats other people so when he meets you he's really put on his toes.

I think the type of person for Bakugou is confident in themselves and their skills in their work field. Bakugou has a habit of being too serious so a playful person who reminds him he's a human would be so good for him

Patient but not a walkover who uses their confidence so they can stand up to him sometimes. He'll probably be protective and also remind you to take breaks in not so sweet ways but with sweet intentions. Often forcing you out of your office or straight up taking you from your work to relax.

This dynamic is all about equality and understanding of the other. Bakugou would be suitable with any career path as long as your confident and admirably ambitious about it.

Hawks

Hawks uses charm to evade most things or cover his true feelings . He's not the most open person out their and can be dishonest but this man needs love.

He needs someone who will look right past his charm in order to understand him. You dont care what his title is you want to know him, and once you get close you stay.

He needs someone who will call him out but still be gentle with him, maybe someone who works closely with him but isnt obligated to like him . I imagine him with a doctor or a vigilante of some sort but not another hero.

The dynamic would be him pouring his heart out and you being there to catch and reciprocate it.

Dabi

Dabi the mysterious little angry man. He has a lot of baggage and doesn't commit to anyone because his heart is a fiery fortress that will hurt anyone who comes close including himself.

When he first meets you its completely physical, hes just there to satisfy himself. Through time you get closer. He needs someone who is also playful but can listen to him. You need to be firm with him because he can be too careless.

Unfortunately I think this romance would be doomed no matter what. His life goal is vengeance and it will consume him unless you two run away together to start a new life is what you think.

He'd be best suited with a vigilante, villain or civilian. Leaning less on the villain because then his need to burn the world will only be fueled by your need to burn the world.

Jamie actually does worship Roy. Jamie has been worshipping Roy for most of his life. Jamie values Roy's guidance more than anything else in the world, because Roy is his God. Roy is his role model, Roy is his inspiration, Roy is his hero, Roy is his coach, Roy is everything. Roy is everything to him!!! Jamie lets Roy decide when he should wake up in the morning and what he should eat and what he can drink and how he should work out, because he just thinks that highly of him. I like your train of thought and the #analysis of it all, but I'm going to gently disagree with one aspect which is: I think sid Very Deeply Did Not Like Being "Replaced" As The NHL's Shiny Toy when McDavid showed up! my memory is bad but I feel like sid owned the oilers the first however many times they played with McDavid on the team. he was being flashy and it was very much billed as A Battle Of The Titans by sports media and to me all these games were being deeply fueled by sid's desire to remain on top.

which I think he did! for the first few seasons. connor entered the game at THE most dominant period in sid's career. joined the league the year sid wins cup #2 and then gets injured, and his whole star was a bit dimmed for those first few years by sid's dominant resurgence (world cup of hockey gold, cup #3, conn smythe, etc etc) through the end of 2017.

As if the US military was not already crippled by woke activism at the highest levels of the Department of Defense, the latest news suggests that the nation’s military vehicle fleet will be hobbled as well.

Biden Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, a Canadian born lawyer with no military background, testified Wednesday to the Senate Armed Services Committee that she supported requiring the United States military to move to an all-electric vehicle fleet by 2030.  That’s less than seven years.

She added:

Her assertions rest on a number of fallacies.

First, Granholm does not address where the energy would come from to power the lithium based batteries that an EV fleet would rely on.  Generally, green energy options are highly inefficient and carbon based fuels are the primary source of electricity for much of the nation.  They seem to think electricity is magic, but every time a climate activist charges up their EV they are most likely using “fossil fuels” to do it.

Iowa is held up as a golden idol among climate activists for its large windmill farms that produce up to 40% of the state’s power, but such systems tend to fail under harsh conditions and are in no way portable, which makes one wonder why Granholm cited Iowa as a reference for justifying military EVs?

The advantage of gas based vehicles over EVs is obvious – There is no long wait time for recharging, refueling is instant and access to a large energy producing source is not required.  In a war zone, there are few places to plug in your Tesla Humvee.  Shifting to EVs would essentially bottleneck operations, making vehicles less independent with less range and easier to disrupt.

Second, as a side note, gas prices were rising well before the war in Ukraine due to inflation caused by government mismanagement and central bank fiat money creation.  Let’s stop trying to perpetuate the lie that Russia is somehow responsible for our economic troubles.

Third, a few years ago the US was a net exporter of crude oil, and after Biden’s entry into the White House this advantage suddenly disappeared.  This increased production along with the completion of the Keystone XL pipeline would have ensured US energy security for many years to come.  That was until the government interfered with oil output and Biden blocked Keystone.  He then began selling off US strategic oil reserves in order to artificially manipulate market prices down while depleting military resources.

It also important to realize that the lithium needed to create the batteries for EVs is primarily mined overseas in countries like China (often with child slave labor).  How does switching to EVs reliant on lithium make the US energy secure, let alone the military more capable?

Fourth, there is no evidence of a “climate crisis.”  It doesn’t exist.  So why are we talking about this at all?

There is no telling how much damage the climate agenda will ultimately do to US defensive capabilities, but the overall trend in energy is more and more centralization.  Centralization, as opposed to redundancy, leads to weakness.  The reduction of US carbon based energy and the over-reliance on a green electrical grid is expected to trigger skyrocketing consumer prices over the next several years.  Transfer this dynamic of high cost and logistical uncertainty over to the military and you have a recipe for disaster.

1. What inspired you to create your oc? Harmony was my first vtm character! I was fed up with the ogl fiasco and decided to crack open the vtm books and have a look. Most of my earlier exposure to vtm had come from VTMB and Not A Drop to Drink (a vtm actual play done by LoadingReadyRun, it's run by one of the Wraith: the Oblivion writers, go watch it, it's fantastic) and I was particular taken with the character of Silas Reed. For my first character, I definitely wanted to do something similar, someone who was a consensualist, and conscientious of their place in the world. I wanted to create a character that was diplomatic, and wasn't easily fazed. Over time, she's grown less diplomatic, though she still sees violence as a last resort.

9. In a group dynamic, what kind of role does the oc usually fill? Are they a worry wart? A troublemaker? The straight man? Harmony is definitely the one who keep people out of trouble. She's the reasonable one. That said, she's certainly more than capable of getting into trouble herself.

11. What is your least favorite trait regarding your oc? Because of what happened to her mom, Harmony tends to have more conservative ideas about drugs, something she argues with her sister endlessly about. It's completely trauma fueled, but it nonetheless can lead her to say and do things that aren't particularly empathetic or reasonable.

17. List/describe up to five tropes that apply to your oc. They could be related to the oc's characterization or their narrative arc.

I don't really know trope names tbh so I'm just gonna describe things and hope you catch my meaning? 1) The nerd. (She's a squishy intellectual) 2) Dead Parents/Traumatic Backstory (She has a stepdad but both of her birth parents are dead) 3) Outwardly cute and sweet, inwardly very fucked up (Smile to hide the pain) 4) Mutual healing/healing through love (She once cast Valeren via a kiss) 5) Aren't you tired of being nice? 1. What inspired you to create your oc? I was going through a bad time in high school. I felt trapped and pushed down, like everyone expected things of me but nobody really relied on me or cared about me. So I created Cordé. She represents everything I wasn't. She's strong, she's rebellious, she's caring. Others look up to her. At the same time, she's in over her head: she's suddenly come into an insane amount of power, and she's desperately trying to figure out how to do right by it. She's trapped by circumstances, but she's also found ways to live with that, to find her own freedom even within restriction.

2. Why does your oc look the way they do? What are your reasons for their appearance? You know, I don't know! Her theme color is red, because I have a longstanding association between the color red and individuality. Thus, she frequently wears red clothing, she has deep red hair, and her eyes glow red like coals out of the fire. She's also generally very feminine, which is probably a reflection of my transness, something I didn't know about then.

Kamen Rider BLACK RX, then. Where do I start?

Well... it doesn’t quite live up to the image of it I’d created in my head. And it definitely doesn’t live up to its predecessor. But... I think it’s a show doomed both by its reputation, and its status as a sequel to a show that really should not have had a sequel; and that if you can get past that - and certainly, not something everyone will be up to - I think it’s a show with a lot of its own merits.

Some of this is made easier by a lack of direct references to Black. There are the two Shadow Moon episodes, of course; and then the insanity-inducing scenario of using Whale Kaijin’s cave to give RX’s magic supercar a heart. But much of what fuels RX’s greatest heights is how it treats Kotaro as someone who has been a hero, a Kamen Rider before and is now finding a life beyond that - and thankfully, despite the actor, I found it easy enough to buy into that without the specificity of it being a Black sequel. Like, it’s a good Kamen Rider sequel show as long as you ignore it’s a sequel to Black? ... I’m probably not selling this very well, but trust me when I say that after a bit it’s something I found easy enough to slip into. The way Kotaro has found a family with the Saharas which isn’t the most solid family but it’s one that ultimately loves each other and him; the way he’s got a job now that he’s able to enjoy; the way he’s slowly meeting people and making friends. It’s all... it’s all very charming, and quite heartwarming.

The Crisis Empire, the invading alien force of reject Sentai villains and the hottest robot ever made; also ends up being a bit more interesting than it seems at first, even if it’s something subtle you sort of have to learn to look for. They have the usual power-grabs and personal interests at heart, with Bosgun especially going against orders for glory more often than not; but General Jark is... a very fascinating commander the further in you go. When faced with Colonel Dasmader in the latter half of the show picking apart his team’s efforts, he is fiercely defensive of not just his own position and reputation but also his subordinates; for seemingly no personal gain. Many many times he ends up flagrantly lying to and going against the supreme Emperor he’s supposed to be subservient to just to save the skin of his captains; at one point straight up killing Dasmader (he gets better) for Maribaron. It’s all of that combined with a more subtle dynamic of the captains getting along strangely well outside of their backstabbing that gives an endearing family angle to the group -- if only they were wise enough to realise just how important they are to each other.

There’s a lot of absolute nonsense, too, mind -- this is the first Kamen Rider series to REALLY have merchandising push its way into the show seemingly after Road Sector’s success last season; with all sorts of forms and weapons and vehicles thrown into RX’s arsenal. Thankfully I think most of it is handled quite well, with only the Rideron feeling truly superflouous -- the rest is in service of RX’s form changing which is used heavily since their debut till the last episode, serving not just to make fights more interesting but working their way into story beats as well. Robo Rider and Bio Rider are just straight up AWESOME designs at that; with aesthetics and colour schemes that Kamen Rider hadn’t delved into much before and a debut that speaks a fair bit to Kotaro’s character. Whoops, got a bit positive there; more negatives -- the Shadow Moon episodes are straight up bad, the last episode introduces a hamfisted environmental message which would be nice if it weren’t for completely contradicting the entire point of the Crisis Empire as an enemy and everything we’d learned about the Demon World and its people before; the Acrobatter being a revived Battle Hopper is something that seems nice at first but turns out to be very pointless, and also Gatezone didn’t get NEARLY enough screentime any time Gatezone isn’t on the screen you should be thinking “where is Gatezone” I want to be staring at his metal chest any chance I get

So! There are a fair few negatives to the show, but overall I think it’s got more than enough positives to balance it out. I don’t think it’s one of the greatest Showa Rider seasons or anything, but I had a great time here and I think if you’re willing to accept it on its own merit you’ll find something to like as well. It’s a pretty solid showing for Kamen Rider and certainly not the worst way the Showa Era could have ended.

but yep yep!! akane isolating himself is the solution he believed in to stop going insane (although would've love to see an akane going insane) and for him to actually prefer to clean clocks is hilarious because in canon, akane is annoyed for being an errand kid. and i love the clock keepers having a fam dynamic so i appreciate the idea of akane being a big bro to mirai – it's fucking cute.

i like ur additional change that akane is more stubborn and stuck in the denial stage whenever something new happens! gotta love the irony that a clock keeper of the present fears for the goddamn present.

i like aoiaoi experiencing a wholesome friendship in another life so instead of letting it become a plot relevance, i offer aoi being able to see the other side in an unclear manner because of her bloodline. considering that the akanes are associated with the spiritual world (in the past, that is) because of their special blood, it would've make sense(?) that all of them can see the other side but most doesn't have a strong sixth sense.

"International cooperation is not only in the best interests of all countries, but is absolutely necessary for the survival of the planet."

U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders warned Monday that hawks in both his country and China are pulling the two superpowers into a "disastrous cold war" that threatens to undercut the possibility of cooperation against the worsening global climate emergency.

Sanders (I-Vt.), whose home state suffered catastrophic flooding last month, wrote in an op-ed for The Guardian that "if the United States, China, and other industrialized countries do not come together to dramatically decrease greenhouse gas emissions, the world we leave our children and future generations will become increasingly unhealthy and uninhabitable."

"Now is the time for a radical rethinking of geopolitics to reflect the reality that international cooperation is not only in the best interests of all countries, but is absolutely necessary for the survival of the planet," wrote Sanders.

Tensions between the U.S. and China have risen steadily in recent years as the two nuclear-armed nations have intensified trade restrictions and repeatedly exchanged warnings and threats over Taiwan, which the U.S. arms. Earlier this year, China voiced outrage over U.S. plans to sell nuclear-powered submarines to Australia as part of a new military partnership.

After U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Beijing in June, China's foreign ministry said the relationship between the two nations was "at the lowest point since its establishment" and "in a downward spiral." A survey released last week found that 43% of Americans believe it is likely that the U.S. and China will be engaged in "direct military conflict" within the next five years.

"The science is clear: If the U.S., China, and the rest of the planet do not act with greater urgency to dramatically cut carbon emissions, our planet will face enormous and irreversible damage."

In his op-ed, Sanders argued that a deteriorating U.S.-China relationship is disastrous for the world, particularly given that the countries are the two largest contributors to planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions, which are fueling extreme weather that has impacted both the U.S. and China in recent months.

U.S. and Chinese officials revived bilateral climate talks in July, but they did not come to any concrete agreement.

"The science is clear: If the U.S., China, and the rest of the planet do not act with greater urgency to dramatically cut carbon emissions, our planet will face enormous and irreversible damage," wrote Sanders.

While expressing opposition to China's treatment of the Uyghurs and other policy actions, Sanders argued that "organizing most of our national effort around a zero-sum global confrontation with China is unlikely to change Chinese behavior and will alienate allies and partners."

"Most importantly, it could doom our planet by making climate cooperation impossible between the world's two largest greenhouse emitters," the senator added. "We need to move in a bold new direction."

Sanders noted that both the U.S. and China have exploding military budgets, spending close to $900 billion and $300 billion per year respectively—an "insane dynamic," according to the Vermont senator.

"So here's a 'radical' idea," Sanders added. "Instead of spending enormous amounts of money planning for a war against each other, the U.S. and China should come to an agreement to mutually cut their military budgets and use the savings to move aggressively to improve energy efficiency, move toward sustainable energy, and end our reliance on fossil fuels," Sanders wrote. "They should also provide increased support for developing countries who are suffering from the climate crisis through no fault of their own."

Acknowledging that establishment figures would likely dismiss such a policy recommendation as "naive and unsophisticated," Sanders responded: "Go talk to the people in Vermont who have lost their homes because of unprecedented flooding and the families in Hawaii who lost loved ones in the recent fires. Go talk to the more than 1 million people in China who have been displaced by catastrophic floods. Go talk to the people in southern Africa who are starving because of the terrible drought and floods they are experiencing or farmers around the world who can no longer grow their crops because of water shortages."

"Perhaps most importantly, go talk to the hundreds of millions of young people in every country on Earth who are losing hope, wondering whether they should even have children of their own, given the enormous challenges the climate crisis poses for a normal life," he added. "If we are to save the planet, now is the time for bold action. Let's do it."

Joker’s Millions had a serious emphasis on Joker trying to avoid public embarrassment- but, this was a recurring theme amongst stories written in that era, the majority of what the capes were doing were essentially elaborate practical jokes on each other, so it’s one more stupid run-around in the company of a hundred other stupid run-arounds.

 When you take the same idea and transplant it into the 90s series, though, it suddenly becomes funny and compelling. Joker cares about not looking like an idiot, yes, but here it isn’t just a function of being in a genre where the only thing anyone is doing is trying to make everyone else look like an idiot. For Hamill Joker, a hatred of being slighted or degraded is foundational, baked into his engagement with everyone else in the show. The same basic character trait fuels more dramatic and emotional episodes like Mad Love or Joker’s Favour. It’s how he gets beaten once and for all in Batman Beyond. It’s funny, but it’s also a logical extension of something specific to Joker’s characterization- despite the fact that the episode was adapted almost verbatim.

A lot of modern adaptations do the opposite; they keep the world and the cast excruciatingly small, tamp down on the theatricality of superheroism even while making it visually bombastic, precluding the emergence of any kind of real dynamic over time (The MCU has been running in-universe for like 15 years and they don’t even have a supervillian community yet.) The best works do both at once; they present the superhero fights as having real stakes, but they also pay respectful attention to the insane theatre underpinning the entire thing, how that shapes the stakes of the meaningful fights, when it helps and when it gets in the way.

my thoughts on the crank palace

i touched about this a bit on twitter (@newtedison_) but i figured i would Try and touch on my points more here (spoilers obv) again, its sort of lengthy

1. im gonna start with talking about the ending because i need to get it out of the way. either i havent read the books in a while and i forgot some canon (which could very well be true, i literally forgot that Bliss was a thing) or this ending makes no sense and is (somehow) setting up for a tdc sequel? so first off, newt was shot in the Head with a Bullet and somehow didnt immediately die? i know that that can happen in real life but it just seems so unlikely that not only would he not die, but he would survive long enough for someone from WCKD to transport him back to their labs and try to revive him. and who the fuck was he talking to? did thomas get newt’s journal at some point and i just dont remember? like i said, either im forgetting stuff or this ending doesnt make sense and is setting up a sequel which...i’ll get to later

2. why was this written? like, what was the point? i understand that this wasnt going to be all sunshine and rainbows but i feel like i was reading torture porn. like, literally all that happens is newt gets tortured (which is described in detail) by WCKD soldiers, has bouts of insane-fueled rage where he KILLS MULTIPLE PEOPLE, and then he dies. ??? what did this contribute to the canon? what was this trying to accomplish? truthfully, i never really wanted a newt-POV...well, anything except for maybe those little nuggets he wrote some time ago. but even if i HAD wanted a newt-POV novella, this is not what i would have wanted. he KNOWS that newt is almost universally the most loved character in this franchise. you can tell because he constantly uses him as a way to get fans in his good graces again. so why on earth would he take that character that so many people love and write a novella where its torture porn and a descent into madness before death? i am not interested in that At All. i’ve read fics (and even written a drabble) where newt is a Crank, and those were more respectful and easier to read than tcp. the parts where newt is having bouts of the Flare were literally exhausting to read; it was described in such vivid and torturous detail that it made me sick reading it. and it didnt help that newt is a character i care a lot about. i didn’t need to know what becoming a Crank felt like. the way it was described in the other books (and even the movies) told me everything i needed to know. the way thomas and everyone found newt at the crank palace in tdc and hes described as obviously not well, but not knowing what exactly happened to him...thats good enough on its own. the mystery of what exactly newt had to endure is part of what gives his journey more emotional depth. not everything needs to be written out and explained. not every gap needs to be filled in. 

3. me saying “the characterization felt off” is going to make some people roll their eyes because ‘duh, sami, the characterization will be off because he’s going insane’ to which i say...exactly. we weren’t really reading a newt-POV novella, were we? even if he isn’t past the Gone in the beginning, hes clearly not the same person we knew him as. the whole novella felt like an uncanny valley situation; i knew i was supposed to be reading about newt, but it felt like i was reading about someone else who looked like him. and that is part of what made this such a disconnect and made me lose interest at parts. not only that, but the world building and lore is inconsistent. newt makes a comment about how it used to rain in the glade, and apparently (as ive been told) that is simply not true. keisha having somehow working cell phone that magically connects her to her family also doesnt make sense. how would they have each others’ numbers? what are the odds that they BOTH found working cell phones in an apocalypse? i get that its a novella but you cant just throw something that crazy in there as a plot convenience. actually work on your plot and world building in a cohesive way, please. and another thing that doesnt make sense...

4. ...is newt finding out that sonya is his sister. if there was anything i would have wanted from a newt-pov novella, it would have been this. him finding out that not only is sonya his sister, but he already knows her post-WCKD. something that would have made this novella actually captivating, contributing something worthwhile to the canon that i would actually want to read, is if newt found out while in the crank palace that sonya was his sister; the Flare would remove that part of the Slice in his brain, and he would realize it was her. then, knowing that he couldnt go past the Gone before seeing her, he would try to find a way to get back to her. he could learn this after thomas and everyone originally see him, so it could match up with the canon. and then, by the time 250 comes along, hes lost all hope of that actually happening, and lashes out to thomas in a fit of rage. the journey of him trying to find his ACTUAL sister would have meant more to me than the story of keisha and dante. trust me, i love a found family trope as much as the next girl. but this series is FULL of the found family trope. it pretty much is the backbone of the franchise. so to see a blood family dynamic would have been a refreshing change of pace that i actually would have been interested in reading. also, the way that newt DOES find out about sonya is...underwhelming. he just randomly says “you remind me of my sister, sonya” to keisha in the WCKD truck. first of all, sonya is not the name you would actually know her by. you would know her by her birth name (which is lizzy? elizabeth?). second, why does he act like he didnt already meet her in the series? when the WCKD doctor tells him sonya is his sister and is alive, hes so surprised. wouldn’t he have known that already? why is there not more emphasis on the fact he already met her? that would have been a really interesting dynamic to explore, and im sad they didnt

5. the pacing and dialogue of tcp is so dragged out. i remember specifically there was a section where newt goes to talk to keisha after she starts abandoning dante, and i swear to god there was a page and a half of text before anything ACTUALLY happened or anyone ACTUALLY said anything. dashner described a launcher at one point as “the energy dependent electric firing projectile device.” that’s SIX words to describe a stun gun. a fucking stun gun! we know what it is! why did you have to use six words??? it just felt like everything was dragged and stretched to the longest it could possibly be and it added to the exhaustion i felt while reading it

6. okay i cant end it without talking about newtmas. its very obvious by now that newtmas is a VERY large part of this fanbase. its clearly the most popular ship and what keeps a lot of people interested in this series. even the marketing team for the MOVIES used newtmas as a advertising tactic (i.e.; using thomas and newt standing face to face as a thumbnail for the trailer, emphasizing newtmas based questions in interviews, even making a fucking facebook memories video for them. yes that last one is real). not only does dashner use newt as a way to lure fans in; he also uses newtmas. the parts that were sprinkled into this were so obvious that it didnt feel authentic. i cant speak for the original trilogy; i dont know the culture around ships back then, and i dont know how much it influenced his writing at the time. but the scenes in those books felt more genuine than tcp. by genuine i mean; he wrote scenes without a relationship in mind, but the chemistry had noticeable subtext that, while unintentional, was largely agreed upon by the larger audience. the parts of newtmas he added into tcp felt artificial and forced, likely as a way for people to take snippets of and use as a free marketing tool for him. one example you might have already seen; “he had already gotten used to his post-thomas, post-WCKD life.” the fact that dashner SPECIFICALLY used the phrase “post-thomas” rather than “post-his friends” or something similar shows that he is using newtmas as a hook on purpose. not only that, but to make newt’s last thoughts as he died “tommy. tommy will understand...” is...wow. first of all, i never wanted to know what newt’s dying thoughts were, but thanks, i guess? and second, when we all initially thought newt died underneath thomas with a gun to his head, i was pretty much inferred that newts last thoughts would probably be about thomas; they would sort of have to be, given the circumstances. so adding that in gives me the same feeling that “i’m coming for you, newt” at the end of the fever code gave me. not as offensive, but written very much on purpose. and the ending is implying that there will somehow be a sequel where thomas gets newt’s journal from...someone. at this point, i can only think that this sequel will retroactively make newtmas canon somehow. now that newt has been confirmed as gay, it could happen. which brings me to my last point...

7. hearing dashner confirm newt is gay was already mind-boggling before. now that i’ve read the crank palace...im angry. im very angry. i think its safe to say that newt is the character that suffers the most in this series. you can argue with me but hes definitely high on the list, if not #1. so; you take this character. you give him a horribly sad arc in the original trilogy, then decide to expand upon it and tell us, your largely QUEER fanbase, exactly how painful and torturous his last days were, in detail. and then you tell us he’s gay. something that is never mentioned in the canon, only in an offhanded reply to a tweet of someone calling you out. on a base level, i can understand why people would be happy. representation (i guess), seeing themselves in the character, having their headcanons be confirmed. great. but what i see is you telling your largely queer fanbase “hey, you see the only confirmed gay character? im going to literally write torture porn about him before killing him off and offer it to you like im providing a service to your community.” how fucked up is that? “hey, kids, if youre gay, you WILL be violently tortured and become violent and a danger to the ones you love. then you will die and your love will never be reciprocated.” what a message! and if he DOES end up retroactively making newtmas “canon” in some weird sequel...i will start foaming at the mouth. THIS is an example of how not all queer representation is good or genuine.
