Talking about mareggie, my boundaries, and similar things!
Since this seems to be a persistant and at times prevalent issue within my ask box, it seems like a good idea to make a post addressing the questions and concerns brought up to me regarding these. I hope this will help clear up any confusion and also allow me to refer back to it whenever these questions/concerns reappear. Eventually this will be added to my FAQ when I am able to, but for now this post will have to suffice in the meantime!

“I don’t like mareggie or any dynamic involving stalking / obsession and it makes me uncomfortable!” A) Completely alright of you to be uncomfortable, I understand. I try to be inclusive of peoples traumas and put in general warnings in my games of these aforementioned themes. However I do ask you understand that as an autistic individual my special interest lies in the complicated dynamics of my ocs--particularly mareggie being my main special interest of nearly a decade--so my games are going to continue to have these themes regardless if you’re comfortable by them or not. If you know these themes will hurt you, please disengage, block, and curate your online experience. While I’m grateful for everyone’s continued support, I make games that I personally want to put into the world. Please be mindful of this and use your best judgement when interacting with not just my work, but every media you find.
“If you’re alright with stalking and obsessive dynamics then why aren’t you okay with fans of your games making fan content with other dark themes such as incest and pedophilia?” A) My general rule is if I don’t cover a particular dark theme in my own game I wouldn’t want to see anyone in the wild using those themes with my own creations. Exploring one’s trauma of these particular themes in fiction is completely fine on one’s own terms, but I have nothing substantial to add about making fiction of these topics myself. It’s way beyond the mature ratings my games already have and quite frankly I’m just grossed out by depictions of incest and grooming/pedophilia. When I’m ignorant of the nuances of these subjects and grossed out by it, I try to discourage it from it being themes my fans use in fan work, because I also want to avoid re-traumatizing victims of these crimes--some of whom are my friends. I can’t stop anybody from using my creations for these means; everyone’s a person with free will. But I’m allowed to feel hurt and violated if people use this free will to go against my wishes because they just felt entitled to, and feel like defying me is 'sticking it to the man' or whatever. I will not ever change my mind on this, so be aware me directing you to this is your one and final warning. Further pestering will result in blocking.

re: your thoughts on dignity, i think that modern western culture has an emphasis on visibility and transparency as inherently good and so many efforts to improve people’s lives involve bringing what is hidden to light and into the public: raising awareness, destigmatisation, representational politics, some kinds of therapy, etc. but this is always going to reduce the complexity in what can’t be seen in people, which is what dignity speaks to: honouring people without assessment or proof. you might be interested in edouard glissant’s work on opacity, he talks about how opacity is a right that is denied by the west due to its need to surveil, measure, and translate without acknowledging what cannot be translated between people
I don't know to what degree this can be attribute to "the West" but otherwise I think this assessment is right on the money.

I have the idea of the kiddies being allowed to paint a wall, the side that gets repainted anyways so let the kids have fun. Stephan (11), Jimaine (5) and Kurt (1,5) all dressed in too big white shirts and it ends up being floorlengh for Kurt.

Sometimes I think about Mithrun and sexual coercion. And it isn't anything you don't want. But he's still selfish. He's a little pushy because he wants it, and you don't want to deny him something he wants, do you...? It took so long for him to want this badly, so please? For him...? If he likes to see you cry, will you do it for him all pretty? If he wants, will you let him take? I do not see him explicitly as a sadist but I think he's Weird™️.
I sort of feel like Mithrun would be into things for the aspect of devotion—what would you do for him? what would you allow him to do to you?—and reciprocity. He'd try a lot of things solely because you enjoy or want them, and because you do the same for him, without either person being pushed to do anything they don't want. I think, in the dynamic I imagine, the ability to call on your safeword is a point of pride because you hit your limit and got what you wanted out of it.
I think it'd be exploration heavy, where consent and risk awareness are key, a lot of doing things just to do them is the vibe I get.

He would want his partner to prove how far they’re willing to go, how far they’re willing to let him go. And how much they love him and how they want what he wants. RE: image descriptions, it’s best practice to keep them very short rather than just adding a summary at the start - info about clothes and colours etc is unnecessary unless it’s specifically relevant to the purpose of the image (e.g. you might provide the funny text on a t-shirt if the point of the drawing is that it’s funny, or specify that X character is dressed like a princess if that’s out of the ordinary for them, etc). It’s also important to only provide info that a sighted person would also be able to see. For example, if you can’t visibly tell a character is cis or trans by looking at them (e.g. top surgery scars) and their trans status isn’t important to understand an image, don’t add that info to an ID. Image IDs are an accessibility tool for conveying necessary information and not for creating word pictures; adding so much extra text makes IDs difficult to parse with a screen reader, especially if they’re provided as plain text and not added to an image with an alt text tag. “I am experiencing this hearing and I am struggling whether I respond or launch into this question as a legislator or from the perspective of a woman of faith because I cannot--it is very difficult to sit here and listen to arguments in the long history of this country of using Scripture and weaponizing and abusing Scripture to justify bigotry.
White supremacists have done it. Those who justified slavery did it. Those who fought against integration did it, and we are seeing it today.
Sometimes, especially in this body, I feel as though if Christ himself walked through these doors and said what he said thousands of years ago, that we should love our neighbor and our enemy, that we should welcome the stranger, fight for the least of us, that it is easier for a rich man--it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into a kingdom of Heaven, he would be maligned as a radical and rejected from these doors.
I know, and it is part of my faith, that all people are holy, and all people are sacred, unconditionally, and that is what makes faith sometimes--that is what prompts us to transform because it is unconditional.
It is not about that it is up to us to love parts of people. We love all people. There is nothing holy about rejecting medical care of people, no matter who they are, on the grounds of what their identity is.
There is nothing holy about turning someone away from a hospital. There is nothing holy about rejecting a child from a family. There is nothing holy about writing discrimination into the law and I am tired of communities being of faith being weaponized and being mischaracterized because the only time religious freedom is invoked is in the name of bigotry and discrimination.
I am tired of it. My faith commands me to treat Mr. Minton as holy because he is sacred. Because his life is sacred. Because you are not to be denied anything that I am entitled to. That we are equal in the eyes of the law and we are equal in my faith in the eyes of the world.
So, I just have to get that out ahead of time because it is deeply disturbing, not just what is happening here but what this administration is advancing is the idea that religion and faith is about exclusion.
It is not up to us. It is not up to us to deny medical care. It is up to us to feed the hungry, to clothe the poor, to protect children, and to love all people as ourselves.”

I know it's kinda annoying when Elain is erased from the narrative surrounding Hybern's death. It's all "Nesta beheaded the King of Hybern with the Shadowsinger's legendary knife" but like.... I think it's very much on purpose? Given the person Elain has been raised to be ( a "pretty doll" for her mother to marry off) and how she was raised to, y'know, be seen and not heard, I think it very much makes sense that Elain let things fade into obscurity and never corrected anyone when they said Nesta did it. She probably feels uncomfortable with that that kind of attention.
However, that does not mean that we will never see a scene where Elain completely reclaims the title of Kingslayer. But that is a very beautiful and empowering scene, and it would be a shame if it was from any perspective other than her own. Which is why I think SJM has kinda "ignored" it to this point. Because we need to see Elain's growth and to see her make the decision to embrace the fact that she is so much more than what her mother wanted her to be. We already see flashes of this with the "Come find me when you're ready" scene. And I think Elain, as a character, is going to surprise everyone, characters and readers alike.

The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
so many people, including those who say they are fans dislike TTPD and refer to it as lazy but I find it to be some of Taylor's best work. I appreciate the metaphors and how vulnerable she is with the narrative. She's not hiding; it's poetry. It's about emotion and the musicality really does come second.
Here's my song by song break down of things that I enjoy (and don't like) about the album for my own future reference so that I do not cave into peer pressure and start to hate the album on principle. Here are my personal interpretations and what the songs mean for me.
In no particular order The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived:
I think people keep calling this album lazy because it's really about the ending of relationships and the changes that you go through personally when a relationship end. They may be different relationships but I think people wanted a narrative change and that's not really what most albums are about?? Like unless they are complete capitalist ploys (which.......I digress) and Taylor now has the fanbase and the freedom to write whatever she wants, so this album, to me, was therapy.
Anyway, this song is when you see a completely different perspective of a person and your relationship once said relationship is over. I hate the production on this song and I'm usually an Aaron girly but the drums and strings feel forced and while I appreciate them for production value within the Eras tour they felt jarring and misplaced during the album listen. I think that they were went to convey emotion and raise the listeners blood pressure so they also felt agitated with the subject but the way they fade out with the song leaves a lot to be desired and kind of feels like the author is fizzling out during what, lyrically, can be argued as the most empowering part of the song. They succeed in capturing the audience's attention after the lullaby nature of the rest of the song but honestly are a distraction from the lyrics. However, I love the piano, especially at the beginning where it's almost a staccato, until the notes are played rhythmically together, it truly feels like poetry set to music. Lyrically, I find this song to be one of the most honest and telling. It feels like a letter one would write to their former partner with no intention of ever actually giving to them.

All the effort that was put into wooing the author and winning them over and learning them and "loving" them. It feels like everything was a game, a joke, a plot in a rom-com that the protagonist was too dumb to figure out at the time.
I could never go back to what we were and if I thought you'd listen openly and respond honestly I'd ask questions, but mostly I'd ask why

Humanity is obviously a central theme to DMC, but I have yet to see anyone mention how every single character within DMC is connected to each other with loss. I'd love to see a fanfic or even simple headcanons explore two or more characters' bonds over shared loss, especially ones that seem a bit odd.
Please, I beg to see Dante and Nico interact and see bits of Nell in each other. You guys, Nico and Trish bonding over demonology and devil arms, especially angus's research.
Idk how, but bring in Beryl. Have her relate to Lady over the overlaps and differences between their families. Beryl's dad went insane and died after possessing demonic power in an attempt to revive his late wife. While arkham killed his wife to possess demonic power and went insane and died. Not only that, they're both human devil hunters and have cool big ass guns.
(Ik Trish and Lucia dont out right lose family like most of the cast, but they still do experience loss. For Trish, it's her home and everything she knew until she left with Dante. In Deadly Fortunes, it's stated that she dedicates a lot of time to studying devil arms and demonology because she misses the underworld. For Lucia, she doesn't lose anyone, but she does have a loss of self after finding out she's a demon. Yall its a bit insane but parallels between Kyrie, Lucia and Trish with all of them having their worldview shattered. )

Ok!!! Here are some based on old Russian and Serbian tales (I'm Russian):
1. A poroniec is a hostile and malicious demon from Slavic mythology. They were believed to come into existence from stillborn fetuses, but also from improperly buried remains of children who had died during infancy.
Porónce are shapeshifters, immortal and able to take any form, but they're usually seen in the form of a horrifying-looking baby, an adult human, or an owl.
So, maybe a woman named Anastasia (Russian regal name meaning "rebirth") who is found sleeping under the floorboards (if she was buried under the house) or at the bottom of a well (if she was thrown in). She had started there as a stillborn child but grew to a full woman
Signature characteristics:
Horrible posture (from growing to an adult inside a tiny enclosed space)
Hatred for the concept of family (or at least, perceived. Really she is jealous of the love ordinary children recieve)
Tendency to crawl on all fours
Animalistic urges like biting and running away at slight movements
Difficult to befriend at first but warms up like a cat
Loves competition and playfighting (will wrestle you for fun)
Talks in mostly questions
Scraggly, broken voice
Favorite things:
Physical activity
Exploring the house
Dark magic (any characters you have that use dark magic? They could be friends! Anastasia loves to cuddle up and watch the horrors go down.)
Playing in bodies of water (makes her feel so clean!!!! (she's not))
Least favorite things:
Verbal affection ("I love you" and "you're so pretty" are OUT. fist bumps are IN.)
Being a little goody-two-shoes (loosen up a little!! we're still young)
Secrets and dilly-dallying (She's a very curious girl and just wants an answer to her fucking question)
2. Bauk was a creature from Southern Slavic beliefs, especially from Serbian beliefs. Parents used to scare children with him. The word bauljati is used to describe when somebody walks weirdly, which originates from Bauk. Bauk walked weirdly and lived in dark places- in holes or abandoned houses from where he preys upon humans and eats them.
Since "Bauk" is a single figure, I think that would be his full name, but maybe something like Brok or Benzi as a nickname. He's probably found sleeping in MC's bed at first, or in the corner of their bedroom, and their first conversation is waking him up.
(He's nonbinary and goes by he/it/they.)
Signature characteristics:
Ashy, dark skin that is almost translucent

Hungry, obsessive eyes
Twitches/shivers/stumbles when he walks
Bad stutter
Always cold, skin feels cold, hands are freezing
Canine teeth and horns
Hairyyyyy.........
Not a huge fan of moving or doing anything
Hedonistic; wants to eat and sleep constantly
Easy to charm, hard to persuade (VERY stubborn)
Favorite things:
Familiar food, familiar places
Darkness or dim light
Edgy animals like black cats and ravens and spiders
Just hanging out and talking
Watching you sleep 👁️
Least favorite things:
Sharing (from EITHER end. You've got your things and he's got his. Unless we're talking about hearts or bedrooms or key to the pantry, then he's got yours.)
Direct light (VERY VERY sensitive to it. This is the only way to get it out of your room (mythologically accurate), but baby will be hurt emotionally. 😔)
