We wanted to share a few facts with you about why we made our switch to #plasticfree packaging! ~ About 8 million metric tons of plastic are thrown into the ocean annually (Like, on purpose. We’re just throwing it in there and hoping for the best). ~ Every minute, the equivalent of one garbage truck of plastic is dumped into our oceans. ~ Plastic is found in the ocean as far as 11km deep, meaning synthetic fibers have contaminated even the most remote places on Earth. ~ Many marine organisms can’t distinguish common plastic items from food. Animals who eat plastic often starve because they can’t digest the plastic and it fills their stomachs, preventing them from eating real food. ~ The likelihood of coral becoming diseased increases from 4% to 89% after coming in contact with marine plastic. It also damages the skin of coral, allowing infection. Coral reefs are home to more than 25% of marine life. That’s a lot of plastic! I hope this has inspired you to be one of those crazy people that brings their own #zerowaste to-go containers to restaurants. Tag a company below that you would like to see stop using plastic. I’m looking at you @amazon . . . . #zerowastelife #zerowasteliving #reduce #zerowastehome #ecofriendly #greenbeauty #cleanbeauty #ecobeauty #plasticfreelife #plasticfree #zerowastebeauty #zerowastehaircare #nontoxic #nontoxicbeauty #garbagepatch #plasticocean #saynotoplastic #plasticfreeplanet #motherearth #greenbeautyblogger https://www.instagram.com/p/Bu4SVRyHMDe/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1ft3gj4k519qd

Most of the plastic that doesn’t get recycled ends up here in one of the many garbage patches that have formed in the ocean. https://www.h2odistributors.com/pages/info/info-pacific-garbage-patch.asp

My hands are clean and so is my hair. One of our top goals for early 2019 is switching over to more eco-friendly glass packaging. We have now logged 20+ hours searching for the perfect manufacturer that can work with us on making our perfect custom packaging. It turns out this whole brand building thing is hard. Who knew? :shrug_tone2:♀️ I've gone back and forth, debating how clean is clean enough when it comes to sustainably sourcing? Are vinyl labels okay? Are post-consumer plastic lids really going to help us sleep better at night? Is #zerowaste even realistic? The temptation to compromise and choose the easier (prettier, even) option is real. All it took was one quick search for #garbagepatch to finalize our decision. Swipe left 👉 Keep your eyes open for new beautiful & sustainable packaging coming soon. - Meg, founder XOXO . . . . . #nocompromise #ecofriendly #motherearth #plasticocean #ecobeauty #zerowaste #zerowasteinspo #ecobrand #ecoluxe #ecoconcious #cleanbeauty #greenbeauty #nontoxicbeauty #naturalproducts #reduce #nontoxic #greenbeautyblogger #veganbeauty #planetearth #sustainable #sustainablysourced #doingourpart https://www.instagram.com/p/BstClotHQE6/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1pu7nt9iolk20

Could have the tag #GarbagePatch or something like that and start it as a thing?
When you desperately want to write, but your brain thinks everything you type is absolute trash :(

@great-pacific-garbage-patch so im super sorry if this is weird but for the past like year now @youngandravishing and I have had an inside joke about the fact that we both thought the other of us was you but now we can't figure out who you are. Is there any possibility that we do know you? Or do you happen to just follow both of us?
#I'm solving this mystery once and for all#I can't sleep soundly without knowing the identity of garbagepatch#my money is on you're one of our friends' sideblog#but seriously no mean stuff here we're just so curious
