y/n let out a sigh as she stared down the ramp, her lover was watching her with quiet breaths, barely feet apart as the rest of her friends and teammates quietened.

The stadium was silent for a moment, before y/n's hand's clapped, the audience copied and she did it again, and the stadium now boomed with rhythmic claps.

y/n's feet took off, her legs pounding against the track. She was 5ft 9, short for a long jumper, but she was quick, and light and as y/n's foot hit the board, she flung herself forward.

Her legs piked as she pushed her hips forward her body travelling as she was pushed down by gravity, landing on the sand below. She jolted as she landed but instantly stood up and rolled off.

She looked at the measurement, waiting for the green light of valid to appear, which it did. y/n shouted in happiness looking over to her coach who nodded as she moved over to wait for the measurement.

"7.17." The voice called.

y/n screamed in relief, hands flying to her head as she realises the record she had broken in her first jump, the British record. Her competitors all paled at the large first jump but patted her on the back none-the-less.

"Go on kid." The accent of Tara said as she patted the girl on the back and y/n grinned at her. "Got sick of coming second aye?" The American joked and y/n laughed.

y/n moved to the crowd, leaning into her lover who lent over the barrier and whispered words of calming encouragement in her ear as the rest queued up to jump.

Pats on y/n's back from Lauren, Georgia, Leah, and Keira echoed as she and Chloe pulled away. The blonde pressing a kiss to her lover's cheek.

"Jump harder." Lucy said as she and her close friend did their usual handshake.

"Always." y/n grinned as she went to take her seat and prepare for her second jump.

y/n's second jump was 7.15, her third, 7.16. None as good as her first and yet somehow, all still winning jumps. Tara and Ivana followed her into the top three, and at their last jump, the three were proud of what had been done.

SB and PB's had been set and Ivana was at 7.14 and massive jump for the young girl. y/n had to push, use up all she had. She started the clap once more.

She waited, then she threw her arms down, silence echoing the stadium as she then raced down the track, the sound of her foot hitting the board echoed and she leaped.

y/n hit the ground hard and rolled, her hips groaning as she covered herself in the sand, hoping praying as the green light lit up and she gingerly stumbled off the sand.

"7.30." The call ran out.

y/n's head snapped back, her body buckling as she tried to comprehend what had just happened. Screams echoed as Tara groaned aloud, knowing she nor Ivana were going to beat that.

Chloe screamed for her lover as y/n grinned at the crowd, shouting in what she knew was a sure victory. And after Tara had jumped and her gold was confirmed, y/n screamed once more.

The gold which had avoided her so long, which had always slipped from her grasp from a last ditch effort or harsh injury, finally she had it, she had the title which had evaded her. World Champion.

Chloe jumped the barrier, y/n grinning as she caught the blonde who wrapped her legs around her waist. y/n grinned up at her before the blonde lent down and pecked her lips.

"Proud of you." Chloe mumbled into her shoulder as y/n walked her back to the stands, her hands firmly on Chloe's thighs keeping the blonde wrapped in her.

"Couldn't have done it without you lovely." y/n promised her as she placed her back over the barrier. They pulled away and Chloe suddenly groaned.

"I'm covered in sand!" She protests and y/n chuckles as the blonde tries to shake it off, and shake it at a laughing Bunny who shrieks and scrambles away

ok, let’s start with parallels CAUSE THERE WERE SO MANY

first off, the comparison of shuri and killmonger 👀

it really does make sense, especially when you think ab how they both “go against” tradition, rejecting the standards. t’challa (rip ilysm) still wanted to please the elders, even if he had more progressive ideas (ie: sandals for his first day

also i’m so fucking glad they didn’t try to cgi chadwick in. it would’ve felt disrespectful and i think it was handled beautifully

her sparing namor the same way t’challa spared those he fought (saving zemo, helping bucky, trying to help killmonger)

the dialogue callbacks bro. fuckin “show him who you are,” had me sobbing. “vengeance is consuming us” babes, shuri, i’m crying.

her being angered by loss and snapping at nakia like t’challa snapped at zuri when he realized killmonger’s identity

also i absolutely love riri. i was a bit apprehensive going in, but i think they executed her well without just making her a replacement for tony. that being said, he would absolutely adore her

the parallel of her going too high and running out of oxygen and later turning it on namor in the same way mirrors tony’s suit frosting over and doing the same to stane 😭

the silent flashes of t’challa took my breath away. the silence really compounded just how empty and quiet their grief is.

seeing shuri try so hard in the opening and not even being able to say goodbye was so sad, and you can see her thoughts racing later on when she successfully synthesizes the heart-shaped herb. it’s a sort of “what if i’d thought of this earlier?” “who would still be alive?” “how could i have missed this?” sort of feeing

onto details!

the new black panther suit is stunning 🤩 the gold and silver details along with the dots that almost look like pearls, mirroring the ones she wears at the funerals? it shows that even if she is the leader of wakanda now, she’s still very young, still grieving her many losses

the tech and ai has really been amped up. shuri’s ai and her different interfaces looked amazing. also the ai (who i think is grio but i couldn’t tell) reminds me of jarvis. mainly in the orange blob department

the dora milaje looked stunning as ever, and seeing some new tech for them was exciting

THE VIBRANIUM THAT MELTED INTO THE CARS ALSKDKDKFKLDDK OBSESSED TONY WOULDVE LOVED THAT SHIT

talokan was gorgeous, even if it did violently trigger my thalassophobia

Keefe and Fitz were close friends, VERY close friends. That was all. There was no other attraction between the two. At least that's what everyone else thought. 

Because what would people say, if they were more? The elven world was outraged by people with twins or triplets, what would they say about two boys dating? 

So, it stayed a secret.

"Will you be coming over after school today?" Asked Fitz, his brown hair and abnormal teal eyes sparkling in the light glinting off the glass side of the level three wing. 

The two sit in an empty corridor, enjoying the little time they have alone together. 

Keefe, squashed up next to Fitz, leans over until his head is touching the others shoulder. Sighing softly, he closes his eyes "I wish I could, but father has some important dinner and I have to be there apparently."

"I'm sure we can come up with something. My dad could ask him if you could stay, maybe even for a sleepover" he says, a glint of determination in his eyes. 

"Fitz, it's alright. I can deal with one evening of stuffy nobles" Keefe replies warily, glancing up at the boy above him. 

"Well, I'm not letting you spend more time in that house than is strictly necessary. I'm gonna ask my dad to ask yours about a sleepover" determination growing, he grabs his imparter from his bag, but is stopped by Keefe’s hand. 

"I don't need you to save me from everything, Fitz " Keefe mumbles. 

Both of them fall silent.

Keefe and Fitz knew each other well, and they were always said to be 'like brothers'. Which is a lovely compliment, yet they still cringed at the word 'Brothers'. Because no one could know they were more.

Before heading home, Fitz approaches Keefe, with the same offer as before. 

"Are you sure you don't want to come over? I'm sure my parents would be fine with it" he asks, growing slightly desperate. 

"Fitz" Keefe says, gently grabbing Fitz’s hand "I would love to, you know that. But I can't. Not tonight" 

"But-" Fitz is cut short by a single finger on his lips, making the 'shhh' sign on his mouth. 

"Not today, okay?" Keefe says, with a slight grin, as Fitz's eyes develop a haze of confusion. 

"What's this meeting about anyways?" Fitz says, once Keefe finally removes his finger. 

"I'm not really sure.” Keefe admits “It's probably just some semi-legal paperwork my dad's doing again," he says, his voice slightly softening.

Fitz fell quite again. 

And he stayed quiet on the walk back.

Keefe and Fitz were so close. In fact, the Vackers might even consider Keefe their son. But never for the reason the boys wished. 

Maybe they wished it could be 'son in law' instead one day.

That afternoon, over Pathfinder Fitz had finally convinced Keefe. 

"I don't wanna be caught up in anything too illegal, you know?" Keefe joked, but it was all to real of a possibility to be funny.

It's funny no one suspected anything, but who would've thought two boys could be more than friends. Because the elven world was distraught around the very thought of humans what would they say about two boys dating?

Fitz rushes up the Stairs at a Superhuman. speed, almost running smack bang into a slightly visible Della. 

'Sorry!" he across yells, still sprinting across the house.

A few minutes later, he reaches his destination, out of breath. Still panting, he enters his bedroom, levitating things out of his way as he goes. 

His room was a mess, and that needed to be changed right away.

Because Keefe was coming over.

It wasn't like he hadn't been over before, there'd been endless days of base quest and mallowmelt.  But this time things were different. Because Keefe was staying the night.

The very thought of sleepover with him made Fitz heart do silly little flips. 

He didn't have time to think about that, when there were only 2 hours until Keefe arrived, and his room looked like it'd been hit with bomb. (As his mum would say)

Keefe’s heart seemed to be attempting to gymnastics as he tried to keep his blushing under control.

clothes and a random assortment of items are spread across his room as he attempts to pack a bag.

Torn between thinking this means the vestiges ship them, or that it means the quirk itself is a very excitable puppy dog that wants Tenya around as much as possible...

1- Tenya did not make a great first impression on 5/7.5 vestiges. Kudo and Bruce were like 'let 👏 him 👏 speak 👏' because they do, you know, kinda think Izuku's annoying but they sorta all did a 180° turn about him after the exam when Tenya apologized and praised Izuku's choice. Most of them like him. Bruce and Kudo are wondering how this kid keeps getting people to decide to like him after all.

2- OfA reacts differently under Izuku's hands, but he never realizes it because he assumes it's his own emotions and projecting. Yeah, his quirk feels jumpy and volatile around Kacchan like he could set it off and blow up his arm too easily, and fun and bubbly around Uraraka who's sure he'll figure out how to use it soon, and ok Izuku isn't sure why OfA races up to his skin faster around Iida, pushy, but maybe it's because he feels competitive with his friend.

3- The vestiges are actually in agreement for once when Izuku looks at Tenya at the train station. That Kid Is Going To Try To Commit Murder (and probably die in the attempt). "Is that what I looked like the last time you saw me alive?" Kudo asks Bruce. "No. But it's what I looked like to Shinomori." They want to help him. They want Izuku to help him. Izuku wants to help him. But they can't do anything except try to bend the power into something Izuku can actually use, and hope it's enough when the kid jumps off the train to find Tenya.

4- Nana, romantic she is, keeps getting excited when it seems they might lean in closer, might take each other's hands. Kudo asks if she and her husband were high school sweethearts to have such optimistic expectation of such a relationship, but Banjo says that dang it, Izuku at least deserves boyfriend even if they split after school, and Yoichi who has little concept of school and had a max relationship length of two months just wants them to confess already. Tenya's admiration is clear to everyone in Izuku's head except Izuku, and they can feel the boy's heartbeat in return. But sadly, they can't do anything while Izuku can't hear them... But, once he can...

5- "Good job training today, you'll master Float as soon as it comes to you at this rate!" Nana cheers Izuku in his dreams. He blushes, still unable to talk in the fog, but they figured out how to have him write in a notebook while he's there. "Hey, you know, White Day is coming up. Any plans? I can help you make something." Izuku raises his eyebrows because he's been warned Nana is a bit of a lethal chef, and also he's already made plans to make chocolate in return for his classmates, and more than triple the chocolate covered apple slices Eri was so excited to present him with a month ago. Izuku starts waving his hands because he didn't get any confession chocolate and haha, why would he need to give any now, and En just sighs and breaks in with a "they need a third day for gay chocolate, bet Iida-kun would have made something for you then."

Izuku is eventually cajoled into making some orange chocolate treats for Tenya, only because he'd have plausible deniability that he just wanted to gift to his friends, but then Tenya presents him with All Might shaped chocolates and admits that maybe they are not purely platonic but that he still highly values Midoriya's friendship and would never mention the feelings again if he didn't want them and completely understands rejection and truly he- wait he didn't get rejected? Wait, it's the same for Midoriya? Both of them are very red, but happy. They don't really change much, neither is one for pda and calling each other their boyfriend feels like A Lot, but they do share food more often and move to calling each other by their given name in a manner that is adorably both shy and excited. But ah, we're halfway through March, and at the end of the month...

A couple weeks later, Izuku tapes letters to the doors of his classmates, then packs a bag to go, not planning on returning to the dorms again. He picks up the little bag of All Might chocolates that he'd slowly been going through. There's only two left. I stand with the fact that this could have been easily avoided but I do not solely blame Johnny here. He's a kid. Kids make mistakes all the time. He just made a mistake. Was it a bigger mistake than a lot of people's? Yes, but it was still a mistake. He is not at fault here.

As for the gang, smart move on their part to immediately surrender. That way they lessened their sentence by not resisting arrest. Also, Marcus looks genuinely worried when he realises Johnny is not there, and I completely understand that. He has no idea where his son is and there's police everywhere, he's bound to be panicked.

Ok, I feel like we missed a part of this conversation. We jump right to Marcus asking where Johnny was and looking pissed. I can almost guarantee that that conversation did not start like that. Marcus and Johnny are shown to be close, despite their communication issues. He's going to be upset, yes, but he's still gonna be worried about his kid. Marcus definitely asked if Johnny was ok or arrested or sick first.

Also, ouch. This scene hurts. The overall message of familiar rejection for you just trying to be yourself, of who you actually are is not good enough? It makes me sob every single time. This is just insanely painful.

(Yes, this is a central part of Johnny's story being queer coded and as someone who had a similar situation happen when I came out, I'm just saying it's very realistic).

Then the stealing bit afterwards being reference for pushing yourself into who others want you to be to feel love? And Johnny choosing even then it's better if he is his actual true self? Amazing, perfection, true cinema.

ChaffinGabe: They’re worse about insults than Brad and Ray- That’s their show of affection in public. Garza isn’t much better about staring, he can’t help it when Chaffin is fiddling with a new project he picked up, so caught up in how happy James looks.
