As cameras becomes more normalized (Sarah Bernhardt encouraging it, grifters on the rise, young artists using it), I wanna express how I will never turn to it because it fundamentally bores me to my core. There is no reason for me to want to use cameras because I will never want to give up my autonomy in creating art. I never want to become reliant on an inhuman object for expression, least of all if that object is created and controlled by manufacturing companies. I paint not because I want a painting but because I love the process of painting. So even in a future where everyone’s accepted it, I’m never gonna sway on this.

Some pro-AI people have been calling anti-AI people "luddites", which some anti-AI people have taken to proudly wearing as a badge of honor. Because, as they will explain, the Luddites were right to smash the looms that were automating their work, as they were defending labor and fair wages, just like anti-AI movements are doing now.

Of course, once you've made that argument, you need to either follow it to the logical conclusion of "and therefore using AI is no worse than buying a T-shirt from Walmart, because we've all accepted that textile workers losing their jobs to automation is fine if it makes clothing cheaper for the rest of us", or you need to be really, really, really sure that every stitch of clothing you're wearing was ethically sourced and made exclusively by union workers making a living wage.

Is AI fr gonna steal our jobs?

Disclaimer: This post is mostly speculative and meant to encourage discussion and different perspectives on the topic.

Some time ago, I along with many others thought that AI was mostly going to aid in all the task centered, administrative, repetitive jobs. Cashiers, factory workers, call center workers, all the jobs that would benefit from automation were being taken over by AI.

When the ghibli trend came around, it was a guttural shock to many artists.

What used to generate questionable and bad looking art has now developed and is transitioning to generating high quality pieces, videos, music, animation and what not. In a matter of mere months. [AI tools example: midjourney, DALL-E, ChatGPT]

Art is not simply something pretty to look at. It is the accumulation of experiences, emotions and essense of humans. Art is their unique expression and the lens with which they see the world.

This blog is not an argument against the use of AI for art, but a call to understand what it really means.

Did most people see it coming when AI mimicked it with precision?

How long before it starts mimicking creativity, intuition, emotion and depth, all of what we thought was deeply and uniquely human?

Some time ago, the dominant argument was that AI might be able copy the strokes of a painting, the words of a novel. But it cannot hold the hands of another human and tell them all was well, it cannot feel and experience the real world like us, it cannot connect with humans and it cant innovate and envision new solutions.

If you still believe this, I urge you to go to chatgpt right now and open up to it like it was your friend. It will provide consolidation and advice tailored so well to your individual behaviours that it might feel better than talking to your bestfriend.

What is a deep neurological, experience based and emotional reaction to us is simply just analysis and application of data and patterns to AI. And the difference? Not easily distinguishable to the average human.

As long as the end result is not compromised, it doesnt matter to client and employers whether the process was human or not. Efficiency is often prioritized above substance. And now even substance is being mimicked.

Currently, the prominent discussion online is that in order to improve your job security, we need to master AI tools. Instead of fighting for stability(which is nothing but an illusion now) we need to ride the waves of the new age flooding towards us, and work with Ai instead of fighting against the change.

But the paradox is, the more we use AI the quicker it will learn from us, the quicker it will reduce the need for human guidance and supervision, and the quicker it will replace us.

Times are moving fast. We need everyone to be aware of the rate at which the world is changing and the things that are going on beneath the surface. If we simply take information at face value and avoid research, give it a few years or even months of time, and noone will know what hit us.

There is a radical change taking momentum right now. It's gonna be humans vs AI starting from the job aspect of the world.

Its not a matter of which jobs and skills are AI proof but which ones is AI likely to take over last.

What I predict personally, is that soon the world leaders are going to have to make a transformative choice.

This can either lead to a world where humans can be provided with money and resources instead of working to earn, as AI generates profit, and we can lay back and enjoy the things we love doing.

Or the other option is that we are going to have to live by scraps as small elite groups take over all the resources and tech.

Dystopia or utopia? The line is blurred.

Thankfully, for now, the choice is in human hands.

5. Build a Unique Personal Brand

If AI is replacing generic jobs, make yourself stand out with a strong personal brand.

Develop expertise in niche areas where AI support is valuable but not dominant.

Use platforms like LinkedIn, personal blogs, or social media to showcase your knowledge.

6. Strengthen Networking and Collaboration

AI can’t replace human relationships and professional networks. Become an in-person person– with genuine emotions.

Build strong connections with industry leaders, join professional groups, and attend AI-focused workshops.

Collaborating with others can open doors to AI-proof career opportunities.

7. Explore Entrepreneurship & Side Gigs

AI creates new business opportunities—consider how you can use AI tools to start a side business or freelance work.

Examples: AI-assisted content creation, AI-driven marketing consultancy, or AI-enhanced coaching services.

8. Stay Informed on AI Trends

Keep up with AI advancements and understand their impact on your industry. Read tech blogs, listen to AI-related podcasts, and follow AI influencers. Take free online tutorials, videos and ecourse online any and everything AI, their are plenty. Stay ahead of industry shifts rather than reacting to them.

Final Thoughts

The only thing we can count on in life is change. Prepare yourself for the change so you aren't left behind.

AI isn’t just taking jobs—it’s changing them. The key to surviving (and thriving) in an AI-driven world is to be adaptable, proactive, and willing to evolve. Instead of fearing AI, embrace it as a tool to enhance your work, increase efficiency, and open up new career opportunities.

Those who learn to work alongside AI, focus on human-centric skills, and continuously upskill will not just survive the AI revolution—they’ll lead it.

I see a lot of people- and I mean a LOT of people- criticizing AI and its use in creative fields. Which, yes. More of that please.

But I'm unnerved that I see even more people criticizing its use in labor that is, to put it simply, unskilled drudgery. Things that can indeed be simplified to a limited algorithm, making human jobs pointless. The argument is that AI is taking jobs from people, taking their livelihoods...

Three things:

We should be able to automate the drudgery, so that we may pursue artistic and other more fun endeavors instead. Moving closer to a society that doesn't require people to work those jobs means that we as a society can begin to dedicate our time to things we actually want to do.

As time moves forward, certain jobs are made irrelevant, and that's often for the better. Yes, there are jobs that are a lot rarer now because of the advancement in technology that we look wistfully on as awesome relics- blacksmith, groom, and the like- but I'm talking about the jobs like, phone operators, human computers, lamplighter. Jobs that don't NEED to exist, because technology can do it better, faster, cheaper. Are those folks screwed? No- they've developed skills that can be applied to numerous other jobs. Let jobs that don't need to exist be automated, so the people in those roles can pursue better things- to make everyone's lives better, and easier.

That's the same argument bigots use when talking about illegal immigrants- that they're taking our jobs. Do you really want to continue that rhetoric?

The only legitimate argument I've heard is that AI uses up insane resources, which, oh my GOD, it's horrible. But computers used to be the size of my house, and now I carry one in my pocket. It takes time, but not long from now, I'm sure it will be made more efficient. That takes research, support, and MONEY.

If the people in charge of these AI things don't think that they can essentially revamp labor with their work in a way that is profitable, they have no incentive to make it more efficient. Make it clear that you WANT AI to be used for purposes that better humanity, but that it needs to be more efficient to be justified in doing so. Make it clear that you want to be able to pursue your passions in a way that is profitable to you, and AI that supports that endeavor will only lead to good things.

Tl;Dr: AI is not morally aligned, positively or negatively. It's not ethical, it's not unethical. It's about how it's used, who's using it, and how its use impacts the world. Get your head on straight, and advocate for its use in a way that helps you.

OpenAI counter-sues Elon Musk for attempts to ‘take down’ AI rival

OpenAI has launched a legal counteroffensive against one of its co-founders, Elon Musk, and his competing AI venture, xAI.

In court documents filed yesterday, OpenAI accuses Musk of orchestrating a “relentless” and “malicious” campaign designed to “take down OpenAI” after he left the organisation years ago.

Elon’s nonstop actions against us are just bad-faith tactics to slow down OpenAI and seize control of the leading AI innovations for his personal benefit. Today, we counter-sued to stop him.

The court filing, submitted to the US District Court for the Northern District of California, alleges Musk could not tolerate OpenAI’s success after he had “abandoned and declared [it] doomed.”

OpenAI is now seeking legal remedies, including an injunction to stop Musk’s alleged “unlawful and unfair action” and compensation for damages already caused.   

Origin story of OpenAI and the departure of Elon Musk

The legal documents recount OpenAI’s origins in 2015, stemming from an idea discussed by current CEO Sam Altman and President Greg Brockman to create an AI lab focused on developing artificial general intelligence (AGI) – AI capable of outperforming humans – for the “benefit of all humanity.”

Musk was involved in the launch, serving on the initial non-profit board and pledging $1 billion in donations.   

However, the relationship fractured. OpenAI claims that between 2017 and 2018, Musk’s demands for “absolute control” of the enterprise – or its potential absorption into Tesla – were rebuffed by Altman, Brockman, and then-Chief Scientist Ilya Sutskever. The filing quotes Sutskever warning Musk against creating an “AGI dictatorship.”

Following this disagreement, OpenAI alleges Elon Musk quit in February 2018, declaring the venture would fail without him and that he would pursue AGI development at Tesla instead. Critically, OpenAI contends the pledged $1 billion “was never satisfied—not even close”.   

Restructuring, success, and Musk’s alleged ‘malicious’ campaign

Facing escalating costs for computing power and talent retention, OpenAI restructured and created a “capped-profit” entity in 2019 to attract investment while remaining controlled by the non-profit board and bound by its mission. This structure, OpenAI states, was announced publicly and Musk was offered equity in the new entity but declined and raised no objection at the time.   

OpenAI highlights its subsequent breakthroughs – including GPT-3, ChatGPT, and GPT-4 – achieved massive public adoption and critical acclaim. These successes, OpenAI emphasises, were made after the departure of Elon Musk and allegedly spurred his antagonism.

The filing details a chronology of alleged actions by Elon Musk aimed at harming OpenAI:   

Founding xAI: Musk “quietly created” his competitor, xAI, in March 2023.   

Moratorium call: Days later, Musk supported a call for a development moratorium on AI more advanced than GPT-4, a move OpenAI claims was intended “to stall OpenAI while all others, most notably Musk, caught up”.   

Records demand: Musk allegedly made a “pretextual demand” for confidential OpenAI documents, feigning concern while secretly building xAI.   

Public attacks: Using his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Musk allegedly broadcast “press attacks” and “malicious campaigns” to his vast following, labelling OpenAI a “lie,” “evil,” and a “total scam”.   

Legal actions: Musk filed lawsuits, first in state court (later withdrawn) and then the current federal action, based on what OpenAI dismisses as meritless claims of a “Founding Agreement” breach.   

Regulatory pressure: Musk allegedly urged state Attorneys General to investigate OpenAI and force an asset auction.   

“Sham bid”: In February 2025, a Musk-led consortium made a purported $97.375 billion offer for OpenAI, Inc.’s assets. OpenAI derides this as a “sham bid” and a “stunt” lacking evidence of financing and designed purely to disrupt OpenAI’s operations, potential restructuring, fundraising, and relationships with investors and employees, particularly as OpenAI considers evolving its capped-profit arm into a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC). One investor involved allegedly admitted the bid’s aim was to gain “discovery”.   

Based on these allegations, OpenAI asserts two primary counterclaims against both Elon Musk and xAI:

Unfair competition: Alleging the “sham bid” constitutes an unfair and fraudulent business practice under California law, intended to disrupt OpenAI and gain an unfair advantage for xAI.   

Tortious interference with prospective economic advantage: Claiming the sham bid intentionally disrupted OpenAI’s existing and potential relationships with investors, employees, and customers. 

OpenAI argues Musk’s actions have forced it to divert resources and expend funds, causing harm. They claim his campaign threatens “irreparable harm” to their mission, governance, and crucial business relationships. The filing also touches upon concerns regarding xAI’s own safety record, citing reports of its AI Grok generating harmful content and misinformation.

Elon’s never been about the mission. He’s always had his own agenda. He tried to seize control of OpenAI and merge it with Tesla as a for-profit – his own emails prove it. When he didn’t get his way, he stormed off.

The counterclaims mark a dramatic escalation in the legal battle between the AI pioneer and its departed co-founder. While Elon Musk initially sued OpenAI alleging a betrayal of its founding non-profit, open-source principles, OpenAI now contends Musk’s actions are a self-serving attempt to undermine a competitor he couldn’t control.

With billions at stake and the future direction of AGI in the balance, this dispute is far from over.
