absolutely living for the fhr brain rot - i'm a complete convert ! in my obsession with exploring every nook and cranny of this (frankly massive) story, do you know how to incorporate a save system into your steam/cog version ? that's a lot of game to replay every time

ahhh thank you so much anon!!! im very happy to know that youre enjoying my ramblings djfjkf. as for the save file stuff, there is! it also acts as a stat and variable editor, so you can test out different things as you like. theres a tutorial on how to use it in the download site itself! also, not sure if thisll be of any use to you, but in case you want to make sure you dont miss anything, you can also try codediving. personally, it added a lot of context to things that i didnt understand at first, and it also made me go "???? you can do that?????" about a lot of the scenes. i hope you have fun going through it all! fhr is, as you say, Massive, so its a treat to realize you missed something and get to play a completely different game than your last run!

Feel free to ignore this and im sorry if i word it poorly, but I'm asking because I'm genuinely curious and want to learn as I don't know any aroace people in real life! You said you have a boyfriend, but you don't feel romantic attraction. How does that change having a friend vs having a boyfriend?

So I think for my boyfriend, I think it's just like more intense platonic feelings? The sorts of things I want to do with him are things I would be fine doing with someone else, if that makes sense. Cuz a lot of aromantics/aro-adjacent people struggle with telling the difference between romantic and platonic attraction, myself included. At some point I defined romantic as wanting to do certain things with Them and Only Them, while platonic is like I would prefer to do xyz thing with them but if I did it with someone else it wouldn't be weird. "Doing things" in this case ranges from eating a meal together to cuddling (for me things don't go beyond that physically). Idk if I explained it well enough but that's the definition I use for myself.

So like I still love him and care about him a lot and everything but it's not quite the same way he loves me (he's straight). I at least can sense a sort of difference in how we feel about each other, idk if he can, but it makes me more certain that my feelings for him aren't romantic, and that is okay. He's known I'm aroace since before we started dating (he was super scared to ask me out because of it rip bozo) so we've always been on the same page about all of that.

And you're probably wondering why I did agree to go out with him if I don't have romantic feelings for him. For starters, I've never been opposed to the idea of having a partner, but it was more of a "if it happens great and if not that's fine too" kinda vibe. In the months before we started dating we'd gotten really close as friends and did some cuddling because that shit can totally be platonic yk. He caught feelings somewhere along the way cuz Straight and when he asked I said yes cuz I do want to be with him. I wanna hang out all the time and go for hikes and watch Ghost Files and make dinner together and let him have some of my ice cream.

I could do those things with someone else and still have fun, but I'd rather do them with him. So it's platonic, in my eyes, but it's still very much love.

No, I don’t think y’all understand like-

The relationship between Jyushimatsu and Homura is my favorite ever and it never fails to make me smile

Literally when we only had the one episode with her, that was enough to spark all kinds of fan fic’s and fanart and because I had that I had more content to really latch onto with these two. Especially since we got a lot of character from Homura in one episode and yet we didn’t get enough either.

We get enough to understand Homura’s struggle. She had a job she was ashamed of and tried to avoid going back home, and was desperate enough to end her own life, but really what she loved was to smile and laugh and that’s all she needed. Jyushimatsu provided that laughter and an escape and I think in the end they both provided each other something they really needed, which was unconditional love and acceptance outside of their respective families.

We don’t fully know Homura’s family situation, but we do know she was reluctant to go home either out of fear or shame. She knew that because of her work she was considered wrong by society. Jyushimatsu is the picture of society reject, someone who is childish of mind, defies physics, and considered a dark horse, odd ball, and a tough case by his own family even.

They’re both rejected by the world around them, and yet they found someone who would just enjoy their company and to have a laugh with. We even see how much of an impact they have on each other

specifically when Jyushimatsu runs after the train to wish Homura goodbye (doesn’t beg her to stay, or for him to go with her, No he fully accepts her decision and lets her know he’ll miss her) trying to get one final laugh from her because that’s all he wanted. Then we see Homura crying and holding Jyushimatsu’s 14 arm band over her wrist (the same wrist that she holds consistently throughout the episode), infact throughout the whole episode she’s smiling and laughing and even cries when she tells Jyushimatsu she’s leaving. Like, this isn’t something you do when you’re ready to forget about another person, this is like stay with you and change your life type beat.

Oh and side note: you’re gonna tell me that Jyushimatsu- king of getting raging hard on’s when just thinking about speaking to another women, master of hard rock central, Iron steel pole, sizzles when it hits the water- Matsuno wasn’t even thinking of sex and kept his stallion under control the entire time they were together? That means that he wasn’t even thinking about her looks, or what she could provide him or whatever, he was just enjoying her company and trying to make her smile and like- Dude come on my heart here

And then we got that one episode in season 2 when they were doing the dolphins thing and like- I know the skits have their own loose cannon in them but the way they function as people together just work?

Like Homura was fully ready to help Jyushimatsu, and willing to push him when he wouldn’t push himself to get to his goal, even when the world told him no. She was the only one to believe in him, and when things seemed pointless, Homura wasn’t afraid to put her foot down and tell Jyushimatsu no.

She was so happy for him when he succeeded too, like actual tears happy. That skit basically told us that Jyushimatsu is the one with the crazy far out ideas and the relentless optimism and persistence to get to his goal, while Homura has his back and will help push him along to his goal, because even when when someone tells her it’s impossible she still holds on, but she also isn’t afraid to look realistically at things and follow some sense of logic and reason. (Also the parallels of her back suit and Jyushimatsu’s yellow one was really cute)

This was just a long ramble way of time saying that, I don’t care if we don’t see Homura a lot, her as a character and her relationship with Jyushimatsu is important to me and I hope hope hope when we get a season 4 that we see her again because I wanna know more about her and maybe even get like a cannon name for her while we’re at it
