When Ryan was signing he started telling me about an ice-cream place in LA called Jenny's and then kinda stopped and said "I'm not sure why I just told you that little fun fact " -- told him I'd check it out if I was ever in LA (and I will !)

Before Shane signed he asked me where I stood on the Boogara-Shaniac scale. I told him that mentally I'm a Shaniac but as soon as I enter a spooky place I become a Boogara because I get scared of everything. He told me that he thought that made me more of a Boogara but then wrote that, making me an official Shaniac (I'm surprised he didn't revoke my card)

I made them pins and bracelets, one of which said History Lizard, and that made Ryan laugh

I didn't give them the pins and stuff when I took my picture with them, I waited until everyone had gone. I took the stuff out of my bag and just kinda stood there cause I got super shy about it but Shane noticed and came up to me. Thanks Shane :')

okay i don't know if the hyperfixation will hold long enough for me to actually write this but au where everything is the same but the waylon house is just a bit more structurally sound. max doesn't die and is like 'thanks for this guys, is that the whole party or?' and everyone just sort of looks at each other like. well we don't want to anger him so what can we say but yes. and so the nerds and max end up hanging out for a night in the waylon house and the worst thing that happens is grace chastity is tempted to have a beer for the first time (she doesn't though. but with max offering it's very hard for her to refuse. or focus lol) max keeps giving them weird backhanded compliments like 'wow you guys are way cooler than you look, how'd that happen' which is not the best but it's way better than being beat up for daring to be in his line of sight, so they'll take it.

so they all hang out for the night, max is like weirdly chill and friendly, eventually he leaves and they're left standing outside the waylon house like. ?? what the fuck??? did we just befriend max jagerman???? the nerds are still apprehensive considering pete still has a black eye, grace is still boiling with religious zeal and repressed lust, and steph still doesn't really like him, but they can't help but remember how he said that trying to prank him was the nicest thing someone's ever done for him. and that just can't be true, considering he's literally the star quarterback and the main character of hatchetfield high, but.... the fact that he felt like it enough says a lot, doesn't it?

so they decide to leave the prank footage to gather dust and figure this was probably the best outcome they could have hoped for. who knows what they'll walk into at school tomorrow? maybe max will become a friend.

Thoughts on the discussion of “Dipper didn’t fall for Bill’s BS but Ford did” from Rob Renzetti in the interview you did with him?

(If you’d rather not answer this, I 100% get it, I don’t want to put you in an awkward spot. I was curious about your thoughts on Hirsch & Renzetti consistently describing Ford in terms of being ‘dumb enough’ to fall for Bill’s deception when other characters did not, disregarding if those situations are comparable)

I'll go ahead and answer this. I don't think it's awkward at all - multiple people can look at a piece of writing and find different takeaways.

I think technically Rob is incorrect here (Dipper did absolutely fall for lies by Bill, as did Mabel, though in her case there were extra layers of deception), but I got his general point, and see where he's coming from.

If I'm interpreting them correctly, it seems both Rob and Alex crafted this plot point in Ford's story as a way to demonstrate his ego being his sole downfall, and how that ego made him more vulnerable to Bill's deception. That concept was their main intention going in.

That being said, while I watched the show I never personally saw Ford's proclivity to trust Bill's lies as ONLY an extension of his ego. I always interpreted there being many, many more factors at play that made him vulnerable, both in Ford's experiences, and in the way Bill preyed on him. And I have a lot of thoughts on Ford's "ego," and where that comes from.

I have a video coming out later this month going more into details on that, but all else I will say now is that it was an absolute pleasure talking to both Rob and Alex, and it was very fascinating to learn more about what they had in mind while crafting Ford's character and his backstory.

so sorry for Morrowseer... he was an advisor for the queen and met a fiery end, but if he existed in real life, he would have been that type of person who's been complaining about his horrid work-life balance for the past 5 years and has around 6 hours of sleep a night, makes Moon's blood pressure shoot up from merely existing in the same space as her mother (usually Morrowseer stays in the living room and Secretkeeper watches Netflix off her phone at max volume in the kitchen) but it's okay because they're keeping the marriage together until their only child turns old enough and leaves the house. Also drops comments about IceWings and SandWings and RainWings while Moon slumps in her seat and stares awkwardly while refusing to think about the very real people who flashed through her mind. He's also on medication for something and has one of those middle aged male afflictions that he'll have until the day he dies. We suspect that his genetics'll take him out in 30 years. Unfortunately, his sacrifices have done much for the family and Moon still feels guilty as he gripes about it. Still makes Moon feel like garbage when he compares her to all the other NightWing kids in the neighborhood, whose coursework, GPAs, and extracurriculars he knows in detail from all that NightWing parent gossip (he's still clowning on Farsight for letting Fierceteeth go to the community college). Also says something to Moon that will affect her psyche for years and then yells at her for being clearly affected by having a parent like him.

i think there’s really something to be said about how some will willingly villainize every single female love interests in the show (most of whom haven’t done a single thing to deserve it) and write fics of them being stalkerish, obsessive, even violent to the main characters, and people will act like that isn’t a clear display of misogyny, but someone will write a fic of t acting like his canon self (brushing buck off “they had henley’s in the eighties”, minimizing his emotions “your father’s alive”, generally being an asshole) and suddenly they’re homophobic
