the game is so old by now but whoooo the FUCK figured out that Painted World Of Ariamis shit organically

#myposts #dark souls #if you haven't played it. there is a tutorial area in the game. that you kinda forget about afterwards #and at the end of the tutorial a huge bird picks you up and carries you to the start of the real game #and that bird keeps chilling around the main area #and if you unlock a later area there is an elevator you can take back to this area #and if you use this elevator and then jump out of a window while its riding youre on a ledge #and then you need to do a jumping puzzle (mind you a lot of people don't really know you can even JUMP in dark souls #then you walk up a ruin and at the top theres a birds nest you can climb into #and if you wait a while the bird will come and take you back to the start area #and then you have to walk through that whole area again and go back to where the game started and pick up an item that wasnt there before #and with that item you go to a midgame area you probably forgot about #and theres a gigant painting and if you clear out the room and then look at the painting youll be dragged into a new area #this is that cainhurst castle level shit #like. bloodborne has an actual huge area with factions and shit that is only accessible if you break into the games starting area #by climbing a really really hidden ladder in a whole other part of the map #and then you get an invitation and with that you have to go to a THIRD unrelated area and if you enter a specific spot a cutscene will play #and a carriage will bring you to cainhurst castle

and see how dialogue isn't possible when you block someone who doesn't even disagree with your movement, just with certain premises behind it? see how it doesn't allow for practicing harm reduction or nuance? when i'm struggling to get myself to eat anything at all, which can last for days or weeks at a time, what i do eat needs to count. sorry, i'm eating the cheese stick because it's the only thing that sounds palatable and it gives me seven grams of protein. sorry there's no room for women with eating disorders and deficiencies because "eat less animal products" isn't good enough when your ideology values non-human animals more than women's health. but of course the burden falls on women to make ourselves tired and weak while the male-led industry overproduces and overconsumes. at least you stayed true to your logically inconsistent, female-socialized emotion-based beliefs and allowed for zero compromise! there's no way your airtight ethical philosophy has blatant logical flaws at the slightest nudge of critical thought, the people who point out fallacies are just heartless!

So I'm sure this is obvious to anyone who knows London well, but for those of us who don't, it turns out that Piccadilly is not an area of London, but a single long street.

The blue line below shows Piccadilly.

The red line is the part of Piccadilly Dracula's Piccadilly house is on (Jonathan walks westward from Piccadilly Circus, and comes across the house "beyond the Junior Constitutional". The Junior Constitutional club was at 101-104 Piccadilly, so the house must be between that and the West end of the street.)
