Being an older sister who really hates it when my younger siblings have friends over at our house really makes me reevaluate all of those “Rude older sisters who seem to hate everything” tropes in shows and movies where when I was younger was always like, “Umm??? Rude much??? That’s your little sibling and their friend, be nice??? It isn’t hard???”
It is hard. Get these random children out of my house

I think what I want to get into with the "Anyone can do harm." thing that I keep beating yall over the head with is that literally anyone, anyone at all can do harm it's not "in your DNA" to be an abuser or written in the stars that you'll be a predator.
Whatever image you have of an abuser in your head, drop it and replace it with your favorite person in the world and you'll probably be closer to the truth than you realize.
It's easy to address harm when it's coming from someone you already hate.
I see it happen all the time. Someone you couldn't stand for no real reason does something heinous then all of a sudden here comes the avalanche of "I always knew they were a fucked up individual."
No, you didn't.
There is no possible way you could have known, you just already didn't fuck with them before they started doing something you could use to justify your hatred of them. I'm guilty of it too! I'm petty, mean, vindictive, and yes! I'm way quicker to believe something bad about someone I hate versus someone I love because I'm human. Still, y all gotta learn to move past that initial "Well, they were always nice to me!" gut feeling and understand that nobody truly knows anyone and anyone can be capable of anything. Even victims. Even you.

Irondad fic ideas #133
Morgan Stark discovers the joke format, "__, __, and __ walk into a bar..."
She doesn't quite get the concept, but she enjoys it. And, like most children, when she enjoys something she becomes absolutely obsessed with it.
Morgan: A spider, the spider's aunt, and a grumpy walk into the house!
Happy: Morgan that's not how that works
Peter: I dunno, you do seem more like a Grumpy than a Happy :)
---
Morgan: A princess, her bestest brother ever, and their cyborg chef walk into the kitchen.
Tony: You can just say you want pancakes, Mo.
Peter, tearing up: That's Princess Mo to you.
---
Bonus:
It becomes an inside joke that the whole family uses.
Tony when Peter cuts off his coffee supply: (gasp) A genius, his robot minions, and a hater walk into the lab.
Peter, not even missing a beat: A genius, his son, and his robot children who agree with the son walk out of the lab and in to their beds.
Tony, so completely endeared every time Peter calls himself his son he can barely protest: I- I- now wait just a second...
---
Teen Morgan, upon finding her brother and MJ making out on the couch: Eughh! An intern, the goddess way out of his league, and the amount of space reserved for Jesus between them walk out of the shared living space.

I want a modern mafia fic where after the incident at Driftmark everyone in the family starts to treat Lucerys differently. Aemond loses an eye and Viserys actually gives a shit and punishes Luke. Rhaenyra and Jacaerys are horrified at what Luke does, he has always been such a sweet and kind boy and to see him hurt Aemond like that scared everyone. Nevermind that Aegon and Aemond have always picked on Lucerys and always made him feel left out. Funnily enough, this is the incident that fixes the rift between Alicent and Rhaenyra, with Rhaenyra feeling very guilty over what her son did.
So Lucerys grows up isolated and neglected by his own family. Don’t get me wrong, Rhaenyra still wholeheartedly loves Lucerys but years of forcing him to meet psychiatrists and taking meds he doesn’t want to take has taken a great toll on him.
He’s eighteen, severely depressed and anxious downing dozens of meds when he decides that enough is enough and eventually leaves the Red Keep. Like completely disappears, he cuts off both Targaryens and Velaryons and no one ever hears from him again.
Cut to five or ten years later, Aemond meets Lucerys again and he’s surprised to see how different the boy is. Gone was the sweet and shy toddler or the quiet and anxious teen, in front of him was this cold, no-nonsense, calculative man. Unlike Aemond and the rest of the Targaryens, Lucerys has never thought of them again and went on his merry way to live his life of freedom and debauchery.
To Aemond’s horror, Lucerys is now working as a camboy while also occasionally fucking this shady businessman (alleged mafia). Aemond tries to persuade him to come back but he’s like “fuck off” and disappears again. Fortunately FOR Aemond, his uncle Daemon’s the infamous “Rogue Prince” of the Underworld, the scandalous brother of dutiful Viserys Targaryen who refused to work for the company and decided to become a criminal instead. Unfortunately for Lucerys, Aemond is nothing but OBSESSED.
IDK just give me Lucerys growing up abused and neglected and cutting his family off to go and live his life only for Aemond to stalk his ass because according to him Lucerys’ place is with the family, right by his side.

Hiatus is not over, I'm just happy to share something my writing partner @enobytheexperiment and I are working on. A Reno/Vincent piece set 3 months after Geostigma has been cured.
The world is on the mend, and Vincent Valentine needs a job. Luckily, the Turks are offering. Less luckily, he’s saddled with Reno.
The job description includes traveling all over Gaia facing down a new anti-Shinra military power with no allies, and no supplies. Vincent could learn a thing or two about how the Turks run now. And Reno could learn a thing or two about redemption.

“why would elaena marry a dornishman when they’re nasty evil people who murdered her poor innocent brother daeron”
maybe because once elaena grew up she realized that there were better ways of bringing dorne into the realm than violent conquest, and that daeron got the death he deserved from not just a nobility that is valid for fearing subjugation from valyria but also a smallfolk sick and tired of these people showing up every few decades to set their principality on fire, and put aside any anti dornish sentiments she may or may not have harbored as a child to see the way her family had directly attributed to their suffering, eventually even falling in love with and marrying a dornish man??
also, considering daeron ii attempts a type of proto-reparations act in bringing dorne into the kingdom, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that someone as intelligent as elaena would recognize the inherent racism in the targaryen conquest of dorne and especially considering the very loud anti-dornish, deeply anti intellectual faction in the blackfyre rebellions, realized they wouldn’t be kind or understanding of an intelligent woman like herself and had no interest in herself or her daughters (of which she had four!!) getting shoved back into the maidenvault again?
like, daeron i is on some andrew jackson manifest destiny shit, and if it makes me an asshole for thinking “god i wish someone had merked jackson before he genocided & displaced my ancestors, good on the dornish for realizing you can’t negotiate with imperialists” than i am perfectly comfortable being considered an asshole right next to my girl elaena.

I just had a painful thought about Jaehaerys and Jaehaera and I've got to share. One of my favorite headcanons that I've seen echoed in some fics and art too is that the twins often hold hands, whether if it's just out of habit or if it's Jaehaerys trying to drag Jaehaera to play with him because he's the more healthy and extroverted twin and therefore takes more charge.
But then the headcanon popped up - what if Jaehaerys would often hold her hand in order to hide the sixth digit on his own one? When he's nervous around someone he would just hold her hand to not let his flaws be apparent, and Jaehaera just squeezes back in silent support that no one ever gave her credit for. Every time I think about the kiddos I find new things to be in pain about, ah.

(cw for a gun, mild blood and suicide in the last drawing.)
Day 1-5 of drawing Re:Kinder daily for a whole month! I'll be doing that all month. ☺️
I did not draw Re:Kinder enough (said both sarcastically and genuinely, because while I know the statement is ridiculous I also do believe it www), so I chose to challenge myself. I will post these every 5 days to not clog the tag too much.

Tuvok says that Vulcan children are very well behaved and have a lot of emotional control by the time they’re ~elementary school aged which makes sense but also makes me want to see what a Vulcan toddler or kindergartener acts like since they can’t be reasoned with as well (can’t really meditate) + are babies and also brimming with near irrepressible violence/emotions.
Vulcan toddler is just quietly accompanying their parent along on an errand. They stop and point to a toy of some sort and ask politely if they can have it. Their parent explains that they have enough toys at home. The toddler immediately throws the tantrum of the century. Just turns into an absolute wild animal in their rage. Other Vulcans are just like “aaa I remember when my children were that age” but any aliens around are like “oh my god is that thing OK??”
I imagine even older Vulcan children would have issues with emotional control given that they’re also children! Though they’d of course know they needed to control themselves and behave...sometimes you just slip up.
Vulcan children are playing together harmoniously. Then one breaks the established rules of the game.
“I made contact with your arm. You are now the chaser.”
“You did not make contact with my arm. I dodged your attempt.”
“You dodged unsuccessfully. I made contact with your arm.”
“I did not.”
“You are cheating.”
“I believe you are the one cheating.”
And an adult has to rush over as one pounces on the other and they both begin screaming and clawing at each other’s eyes. The rest of the children are watching with interest or perhaps grabbing implements to assist their friend.
Little lapses in emotional control would probably be common until they reached like....highschool age. I can imagine an eleven year old Vulcan hearing they can’t sleepover a friend’s home and immediately shattering a vase before apologizing and cleaning it up.
It also seems like bullying would be very prevalent on Vulcan. Spock is canonically bullied frequently and it seems natural that Violent, Extreme Emotions in teenagers would lead to that kind of behavior which isn’t outwardly unacceptable (like crying, laughing, etc) but still satisfies an illogical desire towards cruelty and establishing dominance.
Vulcans schools probably have so many ‘Bullying Is Illogical’ seminars that do nothing and everyone makes fun of behind their teacher’s backs.
Two Vulcan teenagers bullying each other, trying to see who has the more emotional reaction. If you cry or get mad you lose. Only babies cry and get mad...seems pretty illogical(cringe).
Vulcans seem to be very focused on respectability so I’m sure that as bloodthirsty teens there would be a lot of accusations and rules...if you hang out with X then Z,H and Y won’t talk to you. If you apologize too soon then they might accuse you of behaving too emotionally and gossip about you...if you don’t apologize at all they might accuse you of behaving too emotionally and gossip about you. It’s very stressful.
Tuvok also said when he was a teenager in that one flashback that he was ready to fight over the girl he had a crush on (saying he’d “issue a challenge” or something) so I’m implementing that into my personal understanding of Vulcans...like adults do NOT want these kids to fight but amongst other teens they’re like:
“Seynar is my boyfriend.”
“I disagree. He sat next to me during meditation three times this week.”
“Only because I was absent.”
“Then he is fickle and will be mine soon enough.”
And then they challenge one another to a secret duel after school. Dueling to the death is very cool and grownup v_v (teens rarely die from such duels though bc either the other teen stops or someone told an adult). It makes sense to me that teenagers with violent urges would fight one another in a way that they consider acceptably adult. (mimicking the marriage ritual thing or even pon farr...romantic and cool.)
Imagine being a teen Vulcan and your crush starts hinting that they have another person who might be interested in them....hmmm.....and you know you’re gonna have to duel for them or lose em. Such is life.
Vulcan teens seem like they’d either date a lot (emotional whims) very non seriously (because they’re all betrothed) or date not at all because they’re gonna get married to their betrothed anyway.
Loving someone other than your fated match is probably a pretty big trope in Vulcan romance stories...or maybe the opposite? Like someone bad tries to steal your heart but you remain resolute and return to your fated match as is logical.
Anyway all this to say that I think Vulcan children and emotional control is something that’s fun to think about. Especially regarding how Vulcan children would act around adults vs other children.
Vulcan child to adult: I will do my best to get along with my sibling.
(2 seconds later once mother has left)
Vulcan child: You may play with the red toy. If you play with the blue toy I will harm you. Bodily.
Meanwhile their older sibling is rolling their eyes like ugh....threatening violence is for babies....now to prepare for my logical and very adult duel for the love of my life whom I have known for three months. v_v
