and, yeah, after that whole thing that was Molayne’s fight, the fight against Hau was a breeze. he did a cheeky little switch out off of Incineroar i wasn’t expecting, and i got some nice Refrigerate Hyper Beams off from Saurrow here, but it’s really obvious that this fight was more formalities than challenge.
honestly, this was also probably one of the more interesting mono-type runs i’ve had so far for that complex Molayne fight. the only other one i think actually comes close was against Mewtwo in Let’s Go Eevee, for that Poison run, and i was lucky enough to have Haze.
next year is the Dragon runs, and like this Ice run, X and Ultra Moon have some pretty significant overlap. as some of y’all might’ve guessed, i like having some type variety on my team, even if it is harder with monotypes. i also would rather minimize reusing ‘mons between runs in this format. so, i think it’s best if i trade in a couple pokemon for that one, i think it a bit better than using another legendary from the Ultra Wormholes again. Dragon has a few more options better than an Articuno on that front, after all.
in more immediate news, i intend to complete the national dex for pokemon Y soon! to continue precedent set a couple years back, this means a Smeargle run in that generation, with the obvious choice of X. i... well, in spite of it being in the middle of trying to use the last of all weapons of Splatoon 2, a run of Alpha Sapphire since i cleaned the cartridge out, Splatoon 3 being released soon, and possibly the new pokemon games, i want to sort of be a bit more active/vocal about how that run is doing, try and break the queue/scheduling only habits a bit.

Okay, finally got the photos downloaded! Uploading some of my favorites from the party on the 31st--thank you all again for coming! I'd say "hope to see you next year", but I think I'll see a good number of you before then!
[It's an image of Basil (@uncle-dusknoir), Rei (@mimikyumisfortune), and Rose (@roseberryboo) sitting on Vanilla's couch. Rei's taking up most of the space, laying down across it, with Basil pointing exaggeratedly at the Pawmark movie on the screen and raving to Rose.]
[It's an image of Sidon (@water-pokemon-appreciator) holding back two Zoroark from a bowl of chocolate… at the same time, you can see Cooper (@cooper-magnolia) looking, concerned, at Atlas (@spitefulfoxx), and Wolfgang holding Vanilla up like a giant kit. The latter is handing a few pieces of chocolate back to his big brother, an embarrassed look across their face.]
[It's an image of a battle! Rune's (@runicsorceress) Lampent appears to be aiming a Dark Pulse at Vanilla's Darmanitan, with Alex's (@frog-pokemon-friend) Bellibolt and Marjorie's (@marjorie-ann-miller-1949) Tangrowth watching on. In the background, Lt. Surge & Raiga (@sh0ck-w4v3) watch on.]
[It's a Rotom and Pory gathering! Widget the Porygon (@pokemoncenterofficial), Than-Than the Porygon (@water-pokemon-appreciator), Porypory in their phone (@uncle-dusknoir), Riley the Rotomdex (@cooper-magnolia), and Razer the Rotom (@amperage-speedway) are all busily replacing images in Vanilla's home with the image of her being picked up by her scruff. Just a little mischief. Sea the Rotom (@mimikyumisfortune) watches nervously from the side.]
[Whoa, that's an actual fire! You can see Rune (@runicsorceress), Martini the Gallade (@snowbell-glass-bar), Skye (@darkskyess), and Marjorie (@marjorie-ann-miller-1949) tossing pieces of paper into the fire. Jenna (@rotomblr-postal) is just stepping into the door, taking off her coat. She looks concerned.]
[It's midnight! You can see Anthea and Cordelia (@lovenpeace-pkmn), Tropius (@wingsofachampion), Dr. Liss holding a sizeable bottle of alcohol (@doctorlunaliss), Tula (@plasmaapologist), and Vanilla all cheering the moment. In the foreground of the image there's a giant, cake-shaped stack of Oreos, iced a little messily with the message "Happy Birthday Tula!"]

Twig using the giant tree as a baseball bat as dusknoir throws your least favorite/character-you-find-most-annoying.
I hope this is understandable.
(Referring to this post)
I don’t really have any characters that I find pointlessly / unenjoyably annoying, at least in PMD, so I hope it’s okay if Twig and Dusknoir try out a new counseling strategy instead.
Tumblr media
I was going to make an action comic of the pitch and Twig hitting it out of the park, but I was swiftly made aware I don’t know how to draw sports. Please enjoy the immediate aftermath instead.
(… Does this count as a game of catch?)

okay so i just steamrolled thru detective pikachu returns over the past 2 days because i was sick and had nothing else better to do and right after finishing it i went into the tags and WOWIE the negative reception is very large!! i do understand and even agree with some of it but i just felt the need to get my own thoughts down (again. sick with nothing better to do) so take a peek under readmore for very typical elongated halo ramblings about his fave video game series
for the record i never played the first game (only watched a few clips of it on youtube even) but i did go see the movie in theaters. just figured i'd mention this ahead of time so my favoritism is known and to prevent myself from coming off as a perfectly unbiased reviewer
BEWARE THE SPOILERS BTW
(post-editing note: it be long under here, you have been warned)
to start off YEAG this game is not worth 50 bucks! the story's pacing is all over the place and is very basic, the graphics are not particularly well refined, the characters' expressions do not fluctuate as much as they should (professor gordon in particular ;-; i felt so bad for him), and the voice acting outside of merloch and detective pikachu himself are kinda phoned in! it felt like an early 2000s 4kids dub for real. even the gameplay aspects themselves were rather meh in presentation; the button hitboxes were annoying to deal with and as cool as i thought the "main" mechanics were they were incredibly clunky and the tension they tried to build up in the "solving the case" climaxes was just Not It. there was absolutely no reason for the loading/pauses to take that long
(the pokemon gimmicks were okay tho. i would die for growlithe)
however, this isn't a problem specific to this game. while i enjoyed scarlet it was definitely not 60 bucks material (and when i went back to it for the teal mask i even went "good lord, did it always run this badly?"). i gotta give credit to detective pikachu, at least this game ran properly for the most part and never crashed on me lmao
while that doesn't negate the criticisms i previously mentioned i simply wanted to say that this is going to be a problem for as long as pokemon keeps making money. this isn't me finger-wagging at anyone in particular (i certainly have no room to talk, i did say i liked scarlet), i just wanted to say: yeah, pokemon has been A Mess
"but halo!" you cry. "you talked like the negative reception was overblown! what gives the giant negative paragraph??"
because much like scarlet, i still really enjoyed this game sdfjnsdk. how can i say that with confidence, though, when i largely agree that there were many, many issues to be had with its performance?
the word of the day: expectations
and perhaps this is where my bias comes into it. whenever i play a spinoff game (like snap or pokepark for instance), i don't really go into it for mindblowing gameplay and stories, i do it for the same reason this series has kept me enraptured for over a decade of my life:
the pokemon themselves!!
there are SO MANY little things that the regular games don't go into, and while i have my own headcanons and OCs i can play off of, it is so much fun to see actual canon material acknowledge certain things you've only ever theorized about!!
the whimsicott were so fun to watch float around, the article asking where a furret's tail began and ended made me laugh out loud, the fact that they went hard into the "slowpoke tails are eaten as food" thing, and the "let's not get into that right now" jokes about venonat hunting other pokemon and dusknoir eating souls LIKE. i LOVE when pokemon goes into its more "serious" aspects. i know main series games do it too occasionally but outside of offhanded mentions or pokedex entries, do they go this hard into them? if they do and i'm just stupid pls tell me about it i'll eat that shit up
being reminded of less-talked-about pokemon is always a plus and how can you not pop off when you see one of your faves included in the story? (INTELEON AND WOOPER I'LL KICK THEIR ASSES 4 U) it's simply fun immersing yourself into the world of pokemon and getting a glimpse of what it would be like to have pokemon walking down the street and how that affects everyday life! maybe the story is basic, but it served its purpose and i had fun going along with it!
perhaps it's just my mental illness talking, but walking around and seeing all the pokemon and THEN doing the quiz girl's quizzes was actually kinda nice! even if the puzzles weren't that hard, i can't lie and say i didn't pump my fist when i guessed where the mystery was going like with cramorant swallowing the jewel or how the passimian statues needed to hold different berries. overall, i just enjoyed being reminded of how much i know and what i love about this series
also, the ways they incorporated the movie were pretty baller. i liked how they didn't just do a repeat of the mewtwo plot from the movie and let me tell you, even tho i called it early on, i liked that my suspicions about the aurora drop being deoxys were confirmed!! (i suppose it's not that hard to guess bcs what other pokemon comes from space, but i just recently finished playing omega ruby again and i normally don't think about deoxys a lot so LET ME HAVE THIS)
plus "i heard they made a movie about the R case" MADE ME SCREAM. i thought they were just going to ignore the movie and do their own thing but then they DID THAT. incredible. you can call my expectations low (which is valid) but holy fuck
so the TLDR for those who want this: if you want a sweet but cliche game exploring the world of pokemon with a lot of funny moments + worldbuilding, then this game is perfect for you. if you want a game with a groundbreaking story with graphics to boot, then yeah, you're not gonna find it here. i've even seen people say their own nostalgia of the original spinoff wasn't enough to get them to enjoy this game, so take my words with a grain of salt
i would say just watch compilations of the game on youtube, but not every youtuber is gonna go fully exploring the game for all of its little details, so if you care about that kind of stuff, buying the game is your best bet. also if you don't care about that kind of stuff then you should just ignore the game altogether etc etc anYwAY
as for a TLDR for the TLDR: new pokemon snap is goated and i would say a more enjoyable experience than this game esp if you didn't like it so PLEASE buy it the game's only 30 bucks and you can throw treats at pokemon PLEASE it has so many sidequests and interactions you can partake in PLEASE i prommy i won't bite PLEASE stick your fingers in my enclosure PLEASE PLEASE PLE

Welp my dumbass decided to make Wednesday pokemon trainer cards instead of updating my WIPs. Which I'm going to do after I post this🤣
I'm not fully happy about Tyler, eugene, and the xaviers teams. Those may change.
Almost everyone always gets a legendary/mythical.
I know literally no one will read this or care. But I figured I could post it anyway.
Tumblr media
I gave her Skorupi because of Nero, so he's her partner.
Gliscor because he's just a beast of a mon and reminds me of a scorpion/bat that fits Wednesday's dark theme. Tyler had given this to her as a present. On their first anniversary, it immediately became a favorite.
Corviknight because Wednesday is referred to as the Raven, and he just seems like the most raven mon (even though he's a crow). Wednesday found this pokemon back when it was a Rookiedee. It had fallen out of its nest. Instead of feeding it to her mother's Pyroar, she kept it.
Hydreigon because he's just a dark dragon, and I feel like he fits Wednesday's style. Wednesday had found him as a deino, the poor blind Dino had injured himself. She decided to take him in and raise him to become a terrifying dragon.
Dusknoir because he's a big scary ghost that eats souls in his chest. Out of all the ghost types, i feel like this one fits Wednesday the most. This mon snuck up on Wednesday and followed her throughout a haunted graveyard, not giving up until she caught him.
It was between Giratina (the underworld/antimatter legend) or Yveltal. Her legend I chose is Yveltal, He's the legendary of Death, basically destroying everything in sight.
(I feel bad for doing this to Tyler)
Tumblr media
His partner - Cubone - because they both lost their moms. Cubone wears his mothers dead skull on his head. Tyler's mother had given this to him just before she passed.
(Might replace.) Bewear - literally because Tyler is sweet & adorable on the outside, but on the inside, he's hiding a dangerous monster, just like bewear.
Mimikyu - because the creature inside the suit just wants to be loved, just like Tyler. So he hides behind a suit made up of a beloved pokemon. But everytime it's trainer looks underneath the suit, they die.
Scovillian - because it's a funny play on Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. Two faces, two different personalities.
Garchomp - Because this mon is anger filled and very hard to tame also very powerful. Kinda reminds me of the hyde.
His legend is Mewtwo. A legend made by humans and hates humanity. Reminds me of Tyler's tragic past, hating others who don't understand what he's been through.
Tumblr media
Her partner is a shiny Spheal - Honestly, I just feel like Enid would love every single pokemon that's adorable.
Shiny) Politoad because he's just a very happy frog, and I feel like it matches. It Enids a very bubbly personality.
Arcanine - i feel like even though it's a big scary dog, she loves it because it's Fluffy and loyal. Just like Enid.
Lycanroc (Day form) just a little nod to her wolf form.
Dragonair - Honestly, it's just a beautiful mid evo that I feel like Enid would love
And her legend is Mew. It's just a cute, sweet cat that has all the DNA of each pokemon. Something I think Enid would take care of and love.
Tumblr media
So Ajax's starter is Ivysaur - because the bulbasaur line is famous for smoking grass
Ekans because of Ajax being a Gorgon and his little snakes poke their heads out sometimes.
Slowbro because it seems like a good pokemon to get high with.
Hisuian Typhlosion because he just looks like a depressed cool boy like my baby Ajax.
Noivern - because I just see Ajax being the chill guy at parties and noiverns ears remind me of speakers.
His legend is a shiny Rayquaza just because he's a giant space snek noodle🤣
Tumblr media
Eugene's starter is a shiny caterpie, figured he'd just be a bug type trainee.
Beedrill - because of his powers to control bees.
Heracross- same as the caterpie. Just figured he'd have a bug army.
Dewpider because he's just an adorable bean like Eugene.
Appletun because I just feel like he'd love chunky pokemon. Because chunky pokemon are the best.
wobbuffet because its a psychic pokemon and it's insane ability to use counter and I feel like Eugene would need a happy mon to keep him company.
Yes Eugene doesn't get a legend. Just couldn't find one that fit.
Tumblr media
Her partner being Primarina - has to do with her being a siren outcast. Her partner looks like a mermaid and sings like sirens and mermaids are known for.
Being the popular girl at school, I'd imagine she'd have tons of beautiful pokemon. A florges. Being a bouquet of flowers fits that perfectly
Again, Hatterene fits the popular girl status perfectly. Another beautiful fairy type to add to Bianca's team
Bianca would also have a shiny Altaria, it being her pride since it's a rare golden color.
Beautifly - a rare evolution of Wurmple, being very beautiful & every time it flaps its wings, sparkly pollen falls with each flap.
I chose Meloetta fighting form for her mythical pokemon. It has unique singing abilities, and being strong but beautiful would fit Bianca perfectly.
Tumblr media
Xavier surprisingly got a card. I didn't want to download a picture of him into my phone so he gets no picture.
He gets a shiny muk as his partner. Because he looks like throw up. Just like how I feel about Xaviers character.
He gets an Exeggutor because it's derpy in a stupid way🤣
Grafaiai because he's an artist.
Garbordor - because it's a pokemon made of trash.
Xavier does get a legend. But it's the worst one. He gets regice because it's a trash legend.🤣

The land of Kalos wasn't something that Itto himself was particularly fond of. It was nothing personal; its just that everyone acted so high and pompous. Quite frankly, it was annoying to get people staring at his bare chest as he walked by. But he still needed answers, and the sooner he crossed Kalos off the list, the faster he could leave this strange and mildly spooky land.
Unfortunately for the giant, his search for answers regarding his past was halted by something unexpected. Nightmares began to plague him every night. The same dream over and over again tormented him. He needed answers as to why this dream kept pestering him. So he went out in search of a channeler. Parting with so much money was tough, but he had to take this chance.
When he entered the Teller's domain, he sat, horns tipping the light above them slightly. He briefly glanced at the red-head. She wasn't saying anything... was this part of the process? Maybe he had to do something. Without warning, he blurted it all out to her. rather quickly
Tumblr media
"So doc. I've been having this dream where I wake up on a beach. But I'm a riolu. I'm not alone; a Pikachu finds me and asks me if I'm okay. I could understand him, and we got along pretty well. See, in my dream, there are no humans. So, in this world, we join a guild that helps other Pokemon in need. As we go through multiple adventures and then a dusknoir comes to our guild from the future in pursuit of a criminal grovyle so we help him catch this grovyle but it turns out the dusknoir was evil and was trying to help dialga bring time to a pause, and the grovyle was actually a good guy who was my partner from the future."
Itto takes a deep breath.
But then I got amnesia when I came to this world's time. So the grovyle actually fights off dusknoir and sends both of them back to a future where time stands still, but the dialga of this time is still evil, and my buddy and I have to defeat this primal dialga, and when we do, we save the world but changing the future causes me to disappear from the world, and then I wake up."
"Is everything okay with me? Is the nightmare trying to tell me something?"

Idea for an Explorers playthrough!
Through the power of Action Replay, Hero and Partner are Pokémon who would normally be unobtainable in gameplay (specifically, Primal Dialga, shiny Celebi, and purple Kecleon.)
MAN it would be so funny to just walk up to Dusknoir as Primal Dialga and he’s like “What the fuck.”
Or like Primal Dialga is partner so you have this giant dude who has crippling anxiety and his best friend is a tiny pink onion fairy or a chameleon.
Or the Grovyle boss fight where he sees shiny Celebi and Primal Dialga about to fight him and has an internal crisis.
Or everyone being scared of Kecleon because they know what happens if you shoplift.
My run is of Team Shroud, with a human-turned-Kecleon named Vivid, and their partner is Primal Dialga named Zodiac.
oh my GOD
randomizers are funny on their own, but also having changes happen where the other characters react to what they're looking at is a hilarious idea

Chapter 33: In Which Twig Attempts Small Talk
Twig went out for a walk early the next morning. She needed to escape Kip’s worried looks and tentative, careful questions, and she didn't want to be around when Grovyle or Dusknoir woke up to interrogate her. Unfortunately, Grovyle must have sensed her escape plan before she put it into motion, because he was up even earlier than usual and caught her by the arm before she could leave.
“Twig—” he began.
“Back off,” she hissed, careful to keep her voice low. “I don't want to talk right now.”
“I'm sorry about last night. Please, just tell me how I can help. I'm worried.”
“You don't need to be. Everything is fine. Ask Celebi if you need to, but the Future is still saved, and we don't have to do anything about it.”
She tried to pull away, but he held her fast. “I'm not worried about the Future. I'm worried about you. What's wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“There is no chance that nothing's wrong. Please, Twig, I want to help.”
“If you want to help, let me take my walk. I need to clear my head.”
With a tight frown, he released her, and Twig stormed up the stairs outside.
The cool morning air always helped clear her head. She found herself following an old trail down the forest that ringed around Treasure Town that she had always loved back when she and Kip lived together. It was a meandering trail that barely had any incline or decline to it— mostly level, with hardly any other pokemon that walked it, and also a gentle serpentine curve that swung around giant oak trees every so often. It was beautiful, especially when spring green leaves had filled out the branches overhead again after winter. It felt like the trail was healing after it had been scarred by the cold. Twig wished she could do the same.
Wouldn't that be nice— grow a couple leaves on a few branches, and everyone would assume that everything was just perfect about her? Twig could see signs of oak wilt in a number of the oldest trees— a lesson she recalled from her schooling as a human. They had gone down to the air purification chambers in the bunker and learned how to care for the plants within. She wished she remembered how to heal these trees. She didn't know how, and that stung.
Maybe that's how Grovyle felt about her.
She pulled the cloak she grabbed before leaving tighter around herself. He said that he knew she was suffering and wanted to help, but didn't know how to fix it. Twig had always assumed it was out of pity that he nagged— a sort of forceful, frustrating means of correcting her more burdensome traits. Maybe it wasn't out of pity, though. Maybe he really wanted to help because he cared about her specifically. Maybe it was because seeing her hurting hurt him as well.
… Yeah, right. Who would be stupid enough to think Twig of all people was worth empathizing with? Grovyle was smarter than that. Twig, for all her stupidity, was clever enough to know she wasn't worth the time of day. What a dumb thing to even consider—
A hand closed around her wrist before she stepped into open air, her foot dipping over into a sharp drop in the path. Right, this part had a sharp drop-off of about the length of her tail. She hadn't noticed because she was too busy wiping away her tears.
Startled, she scrambled for purchase and launched herself back, glancing over her shoulder at whoever it was that saved her. She caught a brief glimpse of a dark, clawed hand before it melted away into the dappled shadows of the early light.
She stared into the empty forest, mouth agape as she tried to process what just happened.
“Dude,” she finally said. “It's not that far of a drop.”
Silence, save for the hushed whispering of the leaves.
“The worst that could have happened is I maybe would have rolled my ankle.”
Nothing. She saw the shadows to her left shift uncomfortably.
“Thanks, I guess? Um. How have you been since you disappeared? I've been doing good. It's, uh, nice to see you again? I… I dunno what to say. This is kind of awkward—”
“Do you often come to the forest to cry?” Ark’s voice meekly asked.
She sputtered in surprise. “What kind of question is that?”
Silence.
She frowned. “Why do you even want to know?”
“You frequently left for the trees at the edge of your property whenever upset toward the end of my… I was curious. That's all.”
It took a moment for her to consider whether or not to ask her own question— why he hadn't tried anything yet to put his former plans in motion— but she decided against it. “It's out of the way,” she finally said, as if that was a real answer.
Silence.
The trees rustled overhead. Ferns stirred in the wind to her side. The shadows on her left shifted again, and she could just make out a subtle dark shape in the dappled shade of a particular silhouette.
“You aren't well,” Ark said.
She scoffed a harsh sound. “Gee, you don't say.”
“Don't act like this is my fault,” he snapped, suddenly sounding more like the Darkrai that Twig had come to fear all those years ago. But even so, it sounded more like it was a bark with no bite behind it. She found herself pitying the way he schooled his naturally mellow tone into something venomous and cruel. It would be like if she scooped up a snowball and decided to call herself an ice-type. He continued, “I didn't ask to be your little project you could prune and shape into something you weren't afraid of. I didn't ask to be struck dumb and empty-minded so that you could fill my head with lies. I didn't ask—”
“Maybe not, but neither did I. We don't get to choose how things shake out. I didn't ask to remember my past, and you didn't ask to be the Legend of nightmares, either.”
He snapped into visibility, hackles raised in an aggressive posture and a noticeable fear in his eyes amidst his livid expression at Twig's mention of the privileged knowledge she'd been given. Darkrai didn't want his domain, Cresselia had told her what felt a lifetime ago. Pressing a lunar feather into Twig’s hands, she had revealed how her counterpart considered the universe a cruel thing that sought to scorn him personally from his creation. He'd lamented as much to her at a point when Cresselia hated him for only existing, and she had told him she hoped the universe truly did loathe him as he thought it did.
Twig watched him loom over her with a painful sense of empathy. They both felt like no one cared, didn't they? But where Twig had convinced herself that no one should bother with her, Darkrai had turned his anger outward rather than inward. They weren't the same— and they never would be— but if there was any sense of fate in how the universe worked, she could see herself being a reflection of the Legend before her.
He was a loathsome, angry, pitiful thing that hated himself. And Twig knew exactly how that felt.
“How much did that wench tell you?” He spat.
“Enough.” Twig didn't meet his eyes as she found herself echoing his own words, once uttered in a dark room after a nightmare. “She told me enough.”
Darkrai’s furious posture faltered. He backed down just barely, then a hair more, and then melted back into the shadows. Twig couldn't pick him out from the dappled shade cast by sunlight filtering through the leaves anymore, but she could feel his presence somewhere in the forest with her.
“I didn't want Cresselia to tell me all your business, you know,” Twig murmured. “But she's… well, she's intense. She doesn't really take no for an answer, and you don't want to argue against a Legend too much when you're mortal. At least, that's what I've heard. Celebi is pretty similar actually, but you don't have to worry about ending up smote to dust or whatever when you tell her you don't want to eat her cooking.”
Silence.
“Okay, you got to ask me if I like going to the woods to cry, so I get to ask a weirdly personal question too.” She crossed her arms, faking disappointment in the Legend hidden somewhere around her. “Do you do that thing where you hide in the dark with everyone when you don't want to talk about something, or is it just something you do with me?”
The forest was still. Almost unnaturally still. It froze and went taut, almost as if drawn up tightly with marionette strings, and Twig wondered if she'd pushed too hard and now she was going to die.
She sighed. “That was supposed to be a joke, by the—”
“Considering you are the first to ask such uncomfortable things of me, or even to speak to me much at all, I can't say I know how to answer that.”
Oh. This wasn't a ‘the universe is being summoned to swallow you up in a giant stony pit’ sort of tension, it was a ‘the Legend you're talking to is nervous’ sort of tension. Darkrai spoke so hesitantly that Twig couldn't even say it sounded more like Ark as he uttered the quiet answer. There was a bit of teeth in how he said it— almost like he wanted it to be more of an accusation than a confession— but it had no bite. He just sounded helplessly, hopelessly tired.
She understood that.
“Look, man, I'm sorry about Cresselia. Her being a real… Ugh. I know a lot of things that could describe how she was, but they only make sense in English, so I'll go with what you said earlier and say wench. She was awful. You didn't deserve that— not at the start, at least.” She rubbed the sides of her arms nervously. “And I'm sorry about her telling me everything about your past. That was a jerk move on her end. Heck, even you didn't blab to Kip or anybody else about me pretty much barbecuing my entire bunker.”
A pause. “You weren't responsible for that tragedy, nor what happened with—”
“Anyways!” She cut him off, eager to avoid whatever garbage he was going to spew to try and get her to see things the way Dusknoir desperately wanted her to. She wasn’t going to handle another lecture that ended with her completely and utterly gutted very well. “Sorry about that, thanks for not killing all my loved ones, keep up the good work, I'm going to finish my walk now. Bye.”
She turned on her heel and hastened back to Sharpedo Bluff, pointedly ignoring the eyes she felt on her as she went.
That got dangerous. And not in the way she expected. She needed to change up her walking routes, and fast.

What would be Harper and Notch reaction after they have been introduced to Warden the Alpha Dusknoir? I guess this would be the biggest Pokémon they saw and maybe freak out a bit? .Willow as always oblivious would continue introduce him like:
"Warden is really Grandpa of our group, he is been in my family for generations. He really is definition of gently giant"
Wow, that Dusknoir was enormous.
Harper looked up at him with wide eyes. Notch was cowering behind them, overwhelmed by Warden's size and strength. Harper sweated nervously, knowing that Warden's species was known for absorbing souls through the mouths on their stomachs. But with a Dusknoir this size, he could just eat up their whole body in one fell swoop.
Gentle giant or not, he was intimidating.
"Uh...hi," Harper managed to squeak out.

* O-oh dear... I hope I didn't step on anyone!
This is actually my very first Pokemon Gijinka. Back then, I never really understood the term, yet I thought some of the Gijinka art I viewed were pretty cool! But yeah, here it is: Dr. Darius Noir as a Gijinka.
The summary pretty much says it all, but I'll write it here in case anyone has trouble reading my text.
========
[Summary]
Pokemon: #477 - Dusknoir
Classification: Gripper
Name: Dr. Darius Noir
Nature: Calm (After adjustment)
Size: 46'10' (Due to Fairchild berry consumption and shapeshift into a humanoid form and developing legs)
- For some reason, on one of his vacation days, Darius happened upon a strange artifact that caused him to shapeshift into a middle-aged humanoid titan.
He isn't quite used to his new form yet, but his trainer, Keshaun, his sons, and the children of Elderwood Town do their best to help him adjust to this change until they find a way to reverse his metamorphosis.
Darius must now physically move his newfound legs since he doesn't have his wispy tail to float around with.
[Some new features include the following...]
1.) Age marks 2.) Glasses 3.) Earrings 4.) Beard 5.) Jagged teeth 6.) Rings 7.) Pants 8.) Custom-designed boots
- After adjusting to his new form, Darius will still allow children and his nephews to ride on his shoulder!
- Despite his transformation, much of Big D's calm and kind personality remains the same.
- But if you dare to provoke his patients, friends, and family, he will not be pleased.
========
Thank you, lizcoe97, for inspiring me to make my first Gijinka! I'll most likely keep this for future reference because after making a draft of Darius's Gijinka form, I might consider making this a story arc after finishing Otherworldly Goodwill Revisited! I hope you guys enjoy Darius's humanoid form, just as I enjoyed fleshing it out!
========
Dr. Noir is always ready to receive and answer your questions! Wanna interact with the friendly, helpful giant Ghost Pokémon himself? Feel free to leave a question or comment for him in my inbox!

Similar to how Alola seems to draw in Ultra Beasts, Sinnoh tends to draw in ghosts. One reason is that Sinnoh has the weakest barrier between our universe and the Distortion World, and with how there’s an open portal at the end of Turnback Cave, the energy from Giratina’s world sort of… bleeds out into the Sinnoh region. The incident at Spear Pillar with the portal being open didn’t help either, unleashing a massive amount of energy from the Distortion World that can still be felt by ghosts and aura sensitive people/pokemon to this day.
Now back to the portal in Turnback Cave. Unlike the portal left open on Spear Pillar, this one is on a slightly smaller scale, and is contained in a walled off area, reducing the threat to the fabric of the universe around it. The energy that radiates from this portal drapes over Sendoff Spring as a whole. Ghosts in particular are drawn to this energy, and the energy Giratina herself exudes.
The fog in Sendoff Spring deters any unwanted guest from finding the lake. It’s impossible to fly in since there’s no visible spot to land, and people on foot tend to get lost/turned around in the fog. Sometimes, these people even will pass out and wake back up at the entrance to the forest. Ghosts and those who can hear the dead/departed are exempt from this. They can hear the voices and whispers from the beyond, and these voices guide them to the spring. Ghosts are welcomed with open arms. Some do go there to find a place to call home, while others see it more as a pilgrimage; a place to see and experience at least once, without necessarily staying forever. If Giratina trusts someone enough, she will tell the ghosts of the Spring to guide said person through the fog whenever they show up, just so they can get to her place of residence without much trouble.
There’s a wide variety of ghosts that live within the spring. Dusknoir, Drifloon, Misdreavus, Lampent, etc… ghosts found naturally within Sinnoh, and even ghosts found in other regions have come to visit, or even to call the place their home. Some have been there for  years, some have been there for days. Some have stayed for a while and  left, while others have come back after leaving decades ago. They mingle with one another, with Giratina, and with her daughter, Elys. Some loiter in or around her house, though most ghosts generally prefer to be outside in the fog.
Anyone who does manage to make it through the fog somehow that isn’t a ghost will be met with harshness from these ghosts, as they feel it’s their duty to protect such a sacred place. Unless Giratina specifies otherwise, the ghosts will do everything in their power to drive said unwanted person away. With how powerful some of them can be, it isn’t out of the question for them to possibly kill the person, be it on accident or totally on purpose.
It really is like a giant ghost family. They spend time mingling, pranking each other, or playing in the fog. It’s a place for them to call home, avoiding the hatred/disdain directed towards them from the living, despite some of them doing nothing wrong at all. It’s a place they feel safe at, a place they know they’ll always be welcome in.

What would be smol knights reaction seeing Alpha Pokémon for first time? I imagine the pure height of alpha would intimidated them. Warden would try his best not to scare Ceru and Amra but as he is both Alpha and Dusknoir, he knows he looks scary and wouldn't be suprise if he would scare smol knights and Carer too when Willow introduced him for first time. But he is really just gentle giant grandpa who would love to play with smol knights, tell stories from his long live and even train them if they want.
Arma would be hesitant of the Alpha Dusknoir. He'd just need to get to know Dusknoir and be given a bit of time to gather his composure.
(Not canon but he has seen large Pokémon before. Here's an old wip of a thing)
Tumblr media
Ceru lacking the life experience would be more confident than her adopted brother Armarouge. But even she would be a little cautious momentarily. She'd soon warm up to Dusknoir and try to play with them.
Carer would be taken aback at first with the shear height of the Alpha Pokémon. He's seen some tall Pokémon before, ignoring Dynamaxed and Gigantimaxed mons. But this would be one of those cases where it takes the cake! He's familiar enough with ghost types to know they get a bad reputation. But he's equally aware of the fact said reputation is sometimes deserved.

Do songs that you listen often to ever remind you of characters or events from TPiaG or other stories you've written? It happens to me a lot with stuff from a story with OCs I've been helping my best friend make for years now.
Anyways, I'm asking about it because a song from my playlist reminded me a lot of Twig when I heard it while driving the other day. I had heard the song a million times before, but when I was thinking about the lyrics more they seemed to perfectly fit her internal conflict. The song was Blurt by Mega Mango if you want to take a listen.
The song is definitely just about dealing with mental health issues in general, but my PMD brainrot made it so that this was all I could think about after my epiphany. On that note, I want to offer you a congratulations for writing characters so well that they takes over my brain from time to time. I greatly appreciate it. :D
First up: Thanks so much for your kind words! Second: Oh my goodness. My friend, you are opening up Pandora's Box.
TPiaG doesn't have as many songs associated with it as my other projects because it hasn't been in development for several years— however, a vital part of my story development process is listening to music and imagining all the animatics of the characters and storyline that I want to make set to them. I do this for every project that sufficiently resonates with the blorbo frequency in my brain, and TPiaG is no exception!
In terms of songs that embody specific events but aren't connected to a single character, I regularly listen to “Turn the Lights off” by Tally Hall and imagine a sort of extended theme song animation for if TPiaG were an animated series. There's so many lines that mention concepts important to the story!
Another animatic song, this one set in the Dark Future when Twig was human and starting her and Grovyle's quest to save the world, is "Running Out Of Time" by Lin-Manuel Miranda--- specifically the stretch spanning at roughly 1:10 to the end of the song. I have a very vivid image of Twig repeatedly shouting at Grovyle that they need to abscond ASAP as he frantically gathers supplies that spilled out of his bag while they're being pursued by the sableye, and then of Dusknoir being dismissed by a ferryman as he's interrogating him on which way they went.
I also still listen to “Let's Get This Over With” by They Might be Giants and imagine the rest of that one unfinished animatic I posted forever ago. That song isn't as blatantly connected to the events of the game, but there's a few anchor points in the lyrics I really enjoy.
As for individual characters and songs I associate with them, here’s a selection with links to Spotify for easy listening!
Twig:
"Hey, Doctor Doctor" by Milk in the Microwave
"Monster" by Half Moon Run
"Smile" by Ukuletea
"Feelings Are Fatal" by mxmtoon
... And now, "Blurt" by Mega Mango as well!
Ark:
"Problems" by Mother Mother
"Rule #21- Momento Mori" by Fish in a Birdcage
"What You Know" by Two Door Cinema Club
Kip:
"I'm Not Fine" by Blixemi
"Don't Throw Out My Legos" by AJR
"Just Take My Wallet" by Jack Stauber’s Micropop
Grovyle:
"The Villain I Appear to Be" covered by Annapantsu
"Surface Pressure" covered by Annapantsu
(I don't know why both of these songs are specifically the versions sung by Annapantsu. Apparently she's Grovyle-coded in my head.)
Celebi:
(Insert any bubblegum pop or kawaii future bass song of your choice here.)
(Celebi has somehow evaded my ability to assign her songs. I’ll get her someday.)
Dusknoir:
"I'll Be Good" by Jaymes Young
"Never Love an Anchor" by The Crane Wives
"I Was Me" by Imagine Dragons
Twig's Aunt:
"Family Jewels" by Marina and the Diamonds
"In Fact (Demo Version)" By Gregory and the Hawk
"Ain't It Fun" by Paramore
Twig's Mother:
"Brother" by Madds Buckley
And for those who'd enjoy some Travailshipping songs...
"You Are The Moon" by The Hush Sound
"Dark Clay" by Levi Weaver
"When the Day Met the Night" by Panic! at the Disco
"Can I Have the Day With You" by Sam Ock
"Tongues & Teeth" by The Crane Wives

Ok so Lore Dump today! I know I'm behind and after this I will make sure I do an ask about the Dusknoir au. Anyway Part 2 of the Guardians!
Name: Scimon (Sci-mon) He/Him
Appearance: In his human diguse he is a pale skinned raven faunus. He is about 7 feet tall. He has toxic green hair and wears a waring sign yellow cloak. He carries a black mask shaped like beak that covers most of his face but not his eyes. His trait is some raven tail feathers. He wears wear neon red pants with black shoes. He does not wear a shirt. In his true form his entire body is made of a thick dark green acid. His mask fuses to his face and becomes a working beak. He also grows wings in this form.
Aura:No
Magic:Acid(He can create and control acid. He can control how acidic his acid is. This includes his own body. His acid can quickly melt though even metal and only a speical kind of metal is immune.) Posion (He can produce and control posion and toxins in gas or liquid form) Storage (He has a small pocket dimension He can store supplies and weapons to use.) Flight (His wings can't really fly him so he has this magic) Wind (He was wind powers to work his acid and posion)
*Note I'm doing weapons now because the last three Guardians did not have weapons and either hand to hand and used magic so I'm adding it now.
Weapon: A metal staff and a round bottle on top without the lid. The staff is painted to look wooden. The bottle on top is used to fire out elemental attacks, potions he crafts, or just more acid.
Other notes: Scimon was made to guard the experiments of the Keeper as well as conduct and oversee them. They can range from finding new ways to use magic, to upgrading grimm and machines , or even human and fanuas ones. His base is a group of factorys used by him amd other companys. He is seems intense but is quite chill most of the time. He's does get really exicted with his experiments. He tends to hunch over a lot. He gets upset very quickly if people underestimate him in battle. He tries to end fights as fast as possible even being brutal. He main attacks are wide spread area attacks or close range acid touches and acid blasts. Hates the cold because his acid loses its acidity when frozen.
Main Inspiration:Horus from Idle Heroes amd Plauge Knight from Shovel Knight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Name: Frost Helen She/Her

She looks like a fair skinned women with long Grey hair(about mid back) She wears a thin grey shirt with a heavy cloak on her back made of black bear fur, cream colored pants, and thick brown boots. Out of her disguise her skin turns to see though ice. Her eyes turn pure dark blue amd her hair is know made of Grey snow. Frost second form is a giant snow wolf with ice teeth and claws made of blue ice. Her tail now her Ax. Eyes are still the same. Her size nows allow her to fit a 5'10 well built man in her mouth easily. Her final form is a large serpent with scales and teeth made of ice covered in white ice. She is long enough to coil around the outside of median sized village and taller than three stories. She can fits a Goliath in her mouth without stretching.
Aura:No
Magic:Ice( She can make and control Ice) Freeze( This allows her to constantly make the surroundings area cold enought to freeze water instantly.) Shape shifting. Wind. Snow(She can produce snow storms to cover her escapes or make people lose track or them or friends location.) Durability(She can make herself more Durability allowing her to use her strength to burrow though wood, stone and even metal)
Weapon:In her human form she uses a great two sided ax. She can use with only one hand. She can also channel magic though it to allow her launch freezing blast.
Other notes: Frost guards the portal to the Ever After(It does not work yet). She is quiet to the point of being selective mute. She also gets irritated easily. The most trigger happy of the Guardians she has no issue attacking people near her home even if they would have never entered them selves. Her home is a frozen viking/norse inpired village in Soiltas. She often reads to pass the time since she is alone a lot. When she gets lonely she calls the other guardian to talk.
Main Inspiration: Loki's three kids
Tumblr media
Name: Terraend (Terra-end) He/him
Appearance: In disguise he is a average height dark skinned Chinese man. He has brown hair and yellow eyes. He wears a straw hat to cover his eyes and a purple and red Dragon robe on his body with open toed straw sandals on his feet. Weapon: Terraend uses a variety of modified gardening tools. His main weapon his a flat shovel with a thick blade of gold looking metal and ruby embedded in the handle and the shovel. A steel sand rake with spikes. A hoe and scythe with sharp blades made of jade.
Other notes: Terraend guards a collection of plants being grow in Anima. His base is and old village ripped apart by grimm and then later raided by bandits. He is dismissive of anyone he is talking too or fighting. He always remains calm even when fighting muptile opponents. He is the most skilled of the active Guardians and makes that clear to people who like to brag their own achievements. He's hates the towerments on T.V because he feels in a real fight the rules they use are pointless and the champions are nothing but show ponys. He's like to make and care for Zen Gardens.(I know I made him look Chinese but it's fits other theming.)
Main Inspiration: Tsuchi from Clicker Heroes
Tumblr media
Okay, so we have a warden for the magical experiments the Keepers hold to conduct.
Helen gives me vibes of either Demeter from Hades and Auril from Dungeons and Dragons.
Terraend's mind control power kinda reminds me of a combo of both semblances of Umber Gorgoneiaon and Jax Asturias. Him being a zen gardener sounds like a neat concept and makes me wonder if he follows Daoist or Confucian style philosophies.
