what do you guys think revali and link's love languages are?

for revali, it's absolutely words of affirmation but i'd also like to propose quality time as his "secret" love language. nobody wouldn't expect this stuck up birdie to be a sucker for doing things like flying together or napping in a hammock together, but once you think about it more, it makes more sense. and revali's arrogance and irritation are significantly quelled after getting back from a training session at the flight range or fishing in the hebra plunge with link.

for link, it's most certainly physical touch and i propose his "secret" one as acts of service. i love the headcanon that rito "kiss" by pressing their foreheads together and nuzzling each other or whatever, but i think link is the #1 rito kiss enthusiast. at this point, everyone in rito village has seen link on his tiptoes cupping revali's face in his teeny little hylian hands to initiate a rito kiss and revali's squawking and complaining, but ultimately returns the gesture much to link's delight.

i love the idea of revali braiding and doing hair maintenance on link as part of their nightly routine, or link looking for his weapons because where the fuck did they go until he finds revali in their shared roost, polishing his shields and retying his bow strings, all of his quivers fully stocked of regular and elemental arrows. revali is still quite bristly and blunt, so he's all mumbling embarrassed at being caught doing something sweet for his mate like, "it's incredibly dumbfounding that they still call you the hero of hyrule when your idea of weapon maintenance is sliding your blades against a rock like a bokoblin" or "i see now why you go through bows within a moon as quickly as you eat. you aren't changing your bow strings out and you're just using them until they snap! were i any less disturbingly infatuated with you, i'd dissolve our coupling for such atrocious behaviors." link just smiles at him, fond and warm, and any irritation revali feels dissipates into the air as he returns to the weapons, his feathers ruffling and muttering under his breath.

Kotetsu feels a brief sigh of relief against his mask when Kanamori strolls inside the quiet teahouse. "Ah, Haganezuka-san and Kotetsu-shounen!"

You see Haganezuka roll his shoulders for the 5th time that morning. The crinkle of his brows seems to furrow deeper in silent aggravation.

Silently sighing, you embrace him from behind, letting your palms press firmly on his broad shoulders. This makes him groan in a mix of pain and relief, confirming that he is under discomfort.

"You never tell me when you're hurting," your breath is against his back, and you continue to massage his hard muscles.

"It's nothing that'll drag me away from smithing." His prideful quip makes you lightly slap his shoulder in annoyance, and it only makes him bark out a chuckle.

"Let me take care of you, okay?" You tip his head towards yours and bat your eyes in an attempt to persuade him. "Let's get you to bed."

Hotaru merely huffs as his lips form a suggestive smirk. "Fine, but you know I'd want to take care of you, too, my love."

Haganezuka rises from slumber before the sun even fully peaks through the valley. It's part of his dedication to his duties as a swordsmith — the only downside is how he barely gets to spend slow mornings with you.

After firmly wrapping his scarf over his head, he stares at your sleeping figure behind his Hyottoko mask, and he feels nothing but rampant swirls of adoration and love.

He sits down next to you, his weight causing you to stir in your sleep. Lifting his battered and calloused palm towards your cheek, he caresses you softly with a smile behind his mask.

"I love you, and I cannot imagine a world without you." He adjusts his mask and kisses your forehead. "I love you."

At first when Lucifer saved you and brought you to the island, he just thought you were just a boring old human but once he got to know you, this mer became so clingy to you its not funny. He would literally be waiting for you on the shore bright and early so he can spend more time with you, using the excuse of him being your care taker as a excuse about why he wants to be with you all the time

Once you let belphie out of the cove he was trapped in and got fucking killed, the cove opened up for you guys to make a actually home. He got really exited at this idea when he saw that he could also make camp in the cove because of the shallow pools that fit him perfectly. He called dibs on the pool closest to where you set up your bed in the cove, he will be so smug about this when he managed to his spot but he is also glad he got it because if assures him you will be safe at night

He loves to take you ship wreck diving, holding your hand tight while he leads you around the sunken wreck. He always keeps you in his sight while you broth explore, always checking rooms first before leading you inside to go treasure hunting. He cant let a shark or something hurt his treasure

In mermaid culture, leaving gifts and prey for someone means they want to court and mate them. If you start finding little gold trinkets, shiny objects and dead fish near your part of the cove, please make sure none of the other brothers will see because there will be a clash of teeth and claws. Because you sleep in the dry part of the cove and he sleeps in the little pools, its difficult to cuddle at night. Because his pool is closest to your ledge, he will sometimes rest his top half ontop of you while his tail remains in the pool of water. In the daytime however, he will either cuddle you in his water pool or you will cuddle him up on your ledge. Either way, he loves being close to you

If your terrified of going into the water, he will either come up onto the sand with you or try and help you ease your way into being able to swim with him. If you just straight up refuse to go into the water after what happened with belphie, he will haul himself up onto the sand and lay with you, blushing bashfully while you guys just talk. If you were a athlete or someone strong, you pick him up over your shoulders and take him for a little trip up the beach. When you first did it, he freaked out but after a while, he got used to it and saw this as a thing like ship wreck hunting, being with you while you guys search for treasure on land. He will allow you to check out his tail if you ask, a bright blush covering his nose and cheeks as he lays next to you on the sand. He will slightly curl around you while you trace lines down his tail, his hands gently tracing lines into your thighs in return. He's never been this close to a live human, he finds your legs fascinating in the way that you find his tail fascinating. If you like to swim, he loves to see how you use your legs while you swim like how you admire the way his tail glides through the water. He finds his treasure strange in the best way possible

He's fascinated by fire. The first day on the island when Lucifer got you some fish to eat, you made a fire and cut up the fish. Why would you do that? Your wasting the yummy parts? On the first night he will watch you from the water as you cook your meal, getting alot closer to you and the fire when you guys start to bond. He tried abit of the cooked fish and he found it alright, he still preferers raw fish, cooked fish like that is so dry

If you manage to find a way off the island, he will genuinely be so heartbroken that you would want to leave. Wasn't he good enough for his treasure? Did he make them not happy? But it was going so well.... He can let that happen, he wont let his treasure leave. You write "SOS" in the sand? suddenly the tide gets bad and washes away the writing in the sand. You make a boat? he will either ruin it before you could leave or make sure it doesn't go far from the island, just being around the corner from you when it starts to sink. If you get more persistent about leaving and try to get some attention from a helicopter from above, he's dragging you back to the cove while holding you close to his body, keeping a clawed hand over your mouth while he hides his face in your neck. You cant leave him treasure, not now. Not. Ever

Mammon had vibrant yellow scales with his tail being a beautiful mix of yellow and white. His nails are less sharper then lucifer but still sharp, beautiful yellow scales littering his hands and ending at his forearm. He had dirty white gills around his neck while his gills on his chest were directly over each of his ribs. His fins are more flowy along the sides of his tail, his larger fin at the bottom of his tail being a beautiful mix of yellow, cream and white. The whites of his eyes were a bright yellow while his pupils were blue, thicker irises but still slits. His tounge is a nice shade of cream and his teeth are more like vampire teeth but with his bottom teeth having fangs aswell. He is covered in bangles and treasure, he pierced his own ears and tounge so he could use some of the jewelry. Mammon calls you his treasure

He walks over to you, taking in the sight of you once more to grasp the etherealness of your beauty.

“Allow me,” he says, now offering you his hand in which you take in a heartbeat.

“Such a gentleman,” you say with a childish like grin before walking over to the nicely decorated table in awe. ‘He did all of this for me,’ you thought to yourself.

“Of course I had to, my love,” he reassures.

“You’re too good to me,” you say.

“You deserve it,” he says adoringly.

“I don’t know how I got this lucky,” you reply truthfully. You were being 100% genuine right now. He was your everything and you didn’t know what you would do without him in your life. Before you met him, you were lost in life and so was he, but then the two of you met and it was like it was meant to be.

“Neither do I. I mean, I get to spend the rest of my life with an amazing girl like you,” he says which practically has you blushing like a teenage girl. He hesitates for a second before pulling out a nicely decorated box with a bow wrapped around it, causing you to look at him in both awe and shock.

“I was going to wait until later, but I can’t wait any longer,” he says before handing the box over to you. “Go ahead, open it,” he says.

You look at him with a smile before opening the delicate package and removing the wrapping around the garment. Once you finally got down to the surface of the box, you took it out and realized what it was.

“Maker, Ani… It’s beautiful…” you trail, still in shock over the nightgown and its features.

“That’s why it’s so fitting, angel… because you are,” he says with a smile.

He’s honestly never really cared about any of the pieces he’s owned (just hoarding them like his little ravens) until s/o gave him something. He would cherish and keep it close. It’s a real problem on photoshoots.

He’s not a real jewelry person.

The only kind he’s ever owned his costume jewelry for his cosplay, or merch jewelry from his favorite characters. More for collectors’ value & clout than real money.

Levi thinks it’s pretty cool they can make pieces though, and commissions several for his outfits if his vision for a certain accessory doesn’t exist.

Much like Lucifer (though he’ll never admit it) Satan appreciates jewelry for its art.

The symbolic and time period importance of a piece interests him, and he’s also read several books of smithing & traditional jewelry making to know about it.

He would like to learn as well and asks s/o to teach him. Then they have a hobby together.

If s/o was to make him a piece of jewelry, he would want a lapel pin he could wear on his jacket. Something with a flat steam so, when he’s out reading, he can also use it as a bookmark.

Asmo as literally hundreds of pieces of jewelry. Of all kinds.

Most of them are gifts from admirers, but he’s also purchased a lot of them as fashion accessories. Every new trend needs to be owned by him.

He genuinely loves every piece he owns, but the ones from s/o are the only ones he honestly re-wears as he usually doesn’t like to repeat a look.

If s/o was to make him a piece of jewelry, he would want a ring. Something bright & flashy, and he would constantly tell people it’s their engagement ring; which annoys s/o but Asmo is so happy when he says it.

Beel

Beel doesn’t really get jewelry.

Likes it’s cool and all. Shiny and everything. But he thinks it just gets in the way of what you’re trying to do and is just another thing to worry about. Plus he’s broken a lot of it not thinking about his strength.

The only exception he makes is for his leather necklace & bracelet, and that’s because Belphie gave it to him. So he would probably make an exception for s/o’s gift as well.

If s/o was to make him a piece of jewelry, he would want a bracelet the same style as his human outfit look. It’s a strong enough metal weave that he can’t easily break it, plus it looks really strong. He’s always liked bronze more than traditional metals if he had to choose.

Belphie

Thinks jewelry is pointless. Just another thing you have to take off before you go to sleep, or it just sits in a drawer.

But anything [Y/N] does is of interest to him.

He would like to watch them make the pieces. Something about turning just ordinary pieces into something beautiful really moves him, and he can watch them for hours.

If s/o was to make him a piece of jewelry, he would want a necklace with an amethyst stone. He doesn’t have to take it off when he goes to sleep. Amethyst is said to help promote restful sleep. And purple is his favorite color. Belphie would wear it all the time.

There is a birthday cake with a bunch of colorful candles on it. You watch anxiously as he haphazardly lights all the candles. His hand gets close to the flames and a stick falls in the process. Luckily, nothing catches fire.

"Go on and make some wishes, bunny. And uh.. make a few for me too, would ya?" He'll wink at you just before you blow the candles out.

You couldn't help but smile at his ridiculous yet endearing attempts.

Also, expect him to eat half of that cake by the end of the day.

When it comes to birthday gifts.. he's gotten(stolen) you a lot!

You watch as fireworks launch up into the sky, bursting into large sparks of your favorite colors. Some even make pictures. It goes on for a while. There's a lot of explosions, and it feels like there's no end. It takes your breath away.

Some time into the duration, you tightly embrace J. Thanking him, kissing him, and telling how much you love him. You look adoringly into his eyes, those dark pools which are gleaming as they reflect the explosion of colors.

There's an exchange of smiles before you both turn to finish watching the show. He wraps his arms around you from behind.

"This is.. wow. The cake, the gifts, and the fireworks.. I can't believe you did all of this for me, J."

"Mhm, all for you doll."

J's not usually one for the romantics. However at times when he is, it really is the sweetest thing. He really does know how to make you feel special. After all, he's lit up the sky for you.

valentine's day with bucky

A/N: Happy Valentines Day! Enjoy this quick little headcanon I thought of randomly while on break at work lmao I thought it was cute and themed well :) idk it's super short, probably stupid, but i wanted to do something for today and this is all what popped in my head

Before meeting someone, Bucky probably had little to no interest in valentines day in the modern world

Back in his day, though, he’d have a plethora of valentines. Was happy to give women flowers, take them out, have dinner, the whole thing. He’d rarely be a man without a date on that special day in February.

But times had changed and for a few valentines days, the holiday would come and go without Bucky even realizing it. Sure, he’d see the displays in stores and the couples going out, but he’d shrug it off.

Until he met you and suddenly valentines day had a purpose again

During your first together, I feel that Bucky would go a little overboard with it and you’d appreciate it but kind of also not take much note of it. In your experience, guys would go all out on the first valentines day but then by the second or third or fourth (if it ever got that far was rare) the enthusiasm would slowly die down

This was absolutely not the case for Bucky. The man absolutely adored valentines day

It always started right in the morning. You’d wake up to breakfast in bed. The only thing that would change is the type of breakfast. One year it was heart-shaped pancakes and then the next it was French toast with whipped cream and pink sprinkles.

At one point you showed him those mini waffle makers that can make waffles in pretty much any shape. (You got heart-shaped waffles that year.)

The breakfast was always quite impressive because Bucky was not exactly too up-to-date on cooking in the modern age. The variety of foods still sometimes could be overwhelming but he enjoyed trying anything when in the right mood. Often, though, he stuck to the basics and you appreciated that.

With breakfast would come your first gift: flowers. Bucky found very quickly that flowers had not gone out of style (it's canon, so) and when you two first started dating, he latched onto them as a sort of "safe" gift.

You never minded and sometimes your apartment could look like a greenhouse with all the flowers Bucky was gifting you over time, but you happily accepted them on valentines day. He always got you roses on valentines day.

Bucky is also definitely the type to make plans for you two on the holiday but then ask if you would like to do anything. He knows the day is really just about spending time with one another and showering each other in love but he wants to make sure you enjoy it completely, in every aspect.

He’d be very big on taking you out for dinner. I think once he got more comfortable in the modern age he’d be all for going out for a nice fancy dinner. He might need some advice, especially from Sam, on wardrobe and hairstyles but he’d be so excited to take you out all dolled up and show you off

"Jesus, how did little ole me end up with you?" Bucky would ask after letting out an obnoxious whistle when he saw you in your underwear trying to put on mascara.

"Bucky, I look insane right now."

Bucky would probably be someone who enjoyed watching you get ready. I think he’d be amazed by all the modern makeup and outfits available for women to wear. He’d notice every detail of your outfit. He’d easily be the most attentive partner ever

After dinner is when you and Bucky would exchange gifts

Jewelry was also another thing Bucky felt was always a safe gift and he really enjoyed seeing you wearing pieces he bought you. You hadn’t been much of a jewelry wearer before Bucky but his enthusiasm for it definitely gave you a different perspective on it

Chocolates would be another safe, little cliche gift, but Bucky would also try to get adventurous with his gift-giving. Like I said, he’s attentive, so when there’d be even something small missing in your life, he’d try to help. From sweaters (because you complained about how cold your office is) to mugs (because you broke one that one time like six months ago), Bucky was always trying to show he cared and listened and wanted you to be at your happiest with him

On the flip side, gifts for Bucky could be incredibly tough. He’d always insist he didn’t want anything but how could you not when he was throwing gifts at you every valentines day

You’d go the typical route of getting him like a watch or a sweater. You’d try, even though you didn’t know what a man who had been through what he had would enjoy. You never got the impression that Bucky cared much for his own material possessions so you had to sometimes get creative with gifts. You’d given him a mini-vacation once, some gift cards. Once you got him one of those "name a star" certificates because he couldn’t hide his little nerdy side, and he found it quite humorous that he had a star named after him.

"Maybe one day I’ll fight an alien or something in space and get to see it."

"Bucky, I don’t know if that’s funny or not because it could happen with your track record."

In general, for the overall day, he would be so lovey-dovey, much more than usual which you were surprised was possible at all

He’d drown you in kisses, affirmations, wandering hands… You were completely spoiled by him and, of course, you had no trouble returning the favor

The day was about couples after all and despite Bucky’s protests that he didn’t need anything special for himself, that he enjoyed just making sure you were happy, that your love and appreciation were all he needed, you’d still try to spoil him as well

Others would of course give you two a bit of a hard time with how much you’d go all out for valentines day but you didn’t care in the slightest. It was such a happy, blissful moment

Truly, every day with him felt like valentines day, but that one day in February felt a tiny bit special, and the shininess was not wearing off any time soon
