⟹ game day ; quinn - 13, reader - 7
Y/n had been bouncing off the walls since her parents told her that they were going to Quinn’s game. This happened every time she went to one of their games, it was her favorite thing to do. Not only did she get to watch her brother play, but she also got to watch her favorite sport, a win-win situation if you asked her. Ellen, however, was regretting her decision to tell her daughter. While she knew she would be hyper, she somehow continued to do it despite knowing it.
Currently, Jim had taken Quinn to the rink while Ellen tried to rangle her daughter. Jack and Luke weren’t being the least bit helpful as they sat in the latter's room playing a random video game. Y/n was running down the hallway in one of Quinn’s other jerseys he had acquired through the year, not making it easy on her mother before they left themselves.
After 10 minutes, her mom was able to get her to calm down and sit at the kitchen table with a plate of apple slices. Y/n ate them quietly as thoughts raced through her head about the game. She was hoping Quinn’s team would win, she was hoping Quinn would score a goal. But no matter the outcome, she was hoping she’d gate postgame hugs from everyone on the team, it was one of her favorite perks of being a younger sister.
When the time game, she skipped happily out to the car, the rest of her family following behind her with less excited expressions on their faces. Jack sat on the other side of his sister as Luke sat in the back making comments about random things (mostly complaining about having to go to Quinn’s game).
Y/n sang along to the music that the radio was playing, swinging her feet back and forth. And then she decided to annoy Jack and Luke, “Jack! Jack! Jack!”
“Yes, y/n?” Said boy turned towards her with a raised eyebrow.
“Are you excited for the game?”
“Sure.”
She frowned and thought to herself ‘how could he not be excited for the game?’. She quickly decided to end her pestering, knowing it would only end in her upset or Ellen angry at the three of them. She went back to looking out the window and quietly naming things she saw to pass the time in the car.
Once they got to the arena, she held Ellen’s hand as they walked in. They took their seats amongst the other families that were sitting there, most of the moms making conversation with Ellen. Not long after, Jim made his way up to them, sitting at the end next to Luke.
Y/n thought that it would be a good time for a pregame nap, so she laid her head on Jack’s shoulder and slept until the horn sounded through the arena. She was briefly startled before she became aware of her surroundings and stood up and started cheering for everything and everyone.
The other four Hughes’ quickly got used to her cheering and just smiled everytime they heard her voice at this point. The other families around them also adored her and her antics, thinking it was sweet that she always came to cheer on her brother and the rest of the team.
Throughout the game, y/n screamed loudly when Quinn’s team got a goal or their goalie blocked a shot. She only got scolded twice for booing the opposing team, which was much improvement from the last game she was at. Whenever Quinn was on the ice, she would yell his name in hopes that he would hear her. Most of her efforts were in vain until the third period when she had either finally screamed loud enough that Quinn had been actively paying attention to the noise of the crowd.
His head quickly snapped to where he thought the noise was coming from, scanning the crowd for his hyper little sister who he found jumping and waving her arms. He was able to wave his arms in her direction which unbeknownst to him caused her to smile and look at their mom excitedly, “Mommy! Mommy! Quinny waved at me!”
Ellen looked up from where she was sitting next to her and smiled, “Did he now? That’s amazing, sweetheart.”
She just nodded happily and sat back down, swinging her feet like earlier. The rest of the game went by quickly, y/n slowly growing tired from the amount of cheering and moving she had done. By the end of the game, she had practically fallen asleep against Jack’s shoulder once more. She walked through the crowd of people clinging on to her dad as they made their way to find Quinn.
They stood at the entrance to the tunnel, y/n watching as other players walked out to their families. Despite her shy nature around most people, she had no issues giving or accepting hugs from each player who walked by her. Most of them patted her head while some also thanked her for her cheering.
After what seemed like ages to the little girl, her eyes finally laid upon her older brother, and wasted no time walking over to him. She crashed into him harshly, wrapping her arms around his waist. Quinn wrapped his arms around her, dropping his stuff in order to, “Hey y/n/n.”
“Hi, Quinny.” She mumbled, keeping her head buried in the jacket he was wearing.
Quinn gave a look to his parents before picking her up and following the rest of his family to their car. Y/n got herself situated immediately; laying her head on his shoulder, wrapping her arms around his neck, curling into him, and cringing slightly at the way he smelled, “Quinny?”
“Yes, baby bear?”
“You smell.”
He let out a soft chuckle, “I can put you down if you want?”
“No no no, it’s okay.”
And before Quinn knew it, he heard her soft snores. He placed her down in the car, making his way to the other side of the car to sit next to her. He made sure everyone kept quiet on the way back, not wanting him or his parents to deal with his cranky little sister at this time.
Jim went to carry her inside when they got home but Quinn shook his head and carried her inside to her room, tucking her in and placing her stuffed animal bear in her arms. He kissed her head and mumbled a quick ‘Love you’ before walking to his room to change and shower.

⟹ nightmare comfort ; jack - 10, reader - 6
It wasn’t often that she would have nightmares, but when they happened, they were awful. It was close to 3 in the morning when she woke up from one, her eyes snapping open in terror and a small whine escaping her.
She was confused, she didn’t know what to do or what was happening, what was real and what wasn’t. The only thing she did know was that she wanted her older brother. So she climbed out of bed, dragging her teddy bear and small blanket with her as she made her way down the hallway to Jack’s room.
She knocked hesitantly, knowing he wouldn’t be awake but still wanting to be nice. When she received no answer, she pushed the door open slightly and made her way into the room. She was careful to not get her blanket caught on anything Jack had laying on the ground, picking it up as she walked closer to the bed.
She whispered his name a few times but she continued to get no response from the boy. She tried again and again but every try went unnoticed. She didn’t really want to disturb his sleep so she quietly went to the other side of his bed, placing both her bear and her blanket on the bed before climbing up and sitting next to him.
It was only when she finally got comfy that Jack noticed her, turning around in his sleep, mumbling incoherently. He went to shift over but he hit something soft and unfamiliar which caused his eyes to open. His arm had hit her bear and he instantly knew what happened. He murmured her name to see if she was awake and watched as her eyes slowly opened, “Hi Jacky.”
“Hey baby bear, whatcha doin?” He wrapped his comforter around her, allowing her to scoot closer into his arms.
“Nightmare.”
He frowned and finished tucking her into his blanket, “I’m sorry, y/n/n. Why didn’t you wake me up?”
“Didn’t want to bother you.”
“You would never bother me with something like this, okay?”
She just nodded, “Do you want to talk about it?”
“No thank you.”
“Alright, y/n/n.”
The two were silent and then y/n could feel her stomach grumbling, “Jacky?”
“Yes, baby bear?”
“Me Hungry.”
He chuckled softly before nodding, “I’ll go get some goldfish for you okay? You want some water too?”
“Yes please.”
“I’ll be back then.”
She watched him get up and walk out the door. She listened for his footsteps down the stairs and the slight movements from him downstairs. She looked around his room, eyeing all the posters of hockey players and all his medals and trophies. She smiled happily at them and curled further into the bed.
Jack came back upstairs a few minutes later with two small bowls of goldfish, and two water bottles full of water. He handed one bowl to her and her favorite colored water bottle to her, helping her sit up on the bed.
He sat down next to her and started eating his goldfish before she interrupted him, “Jacky?”
“Yes?”
“Can we watch Max and Ruby?”
“Sure, y/n/n.” He reached down and grabbed his iPad from under his bed and turned it on to navigate to Max and Ruby.
Y/n laid against her older brother and continued to eat her goldfish and drink her water as they watched one of her favorite shows. Halfway through the episode, she fell asleep leaving her goldfish finished and her water empty. Jack laughed and closed his iPad and got himself and her comfortable again before falling back asleep as well.

⟹ bad day ; luke - 18, reader - 16
Luke had texted her and asked if she was riding home with him after school, but he never got an answer from her. He had texted her during both of their lunch periods, so he knew she was on her phone. It usually wasn’t this late in the day when he would just be finding out how his sister would get home. There were only three options, himself, their mom or dad, or one of her friends.
By the end of the day, he still hadn’t received an answer from her, so he sat in his car for about 10 minutes after school and that’s when he saw her text that told him he could go. Initially, he hesitated, he knew there was something wrong with her, okay maybe he didn’t know but he could feel that something was wrong. But who was he to not follow what she said?
An hour after he arrived home he could hear the front door open and a thud before it closed again. He made his way downstairs and saw y/n sitting on one of the stools in the kitchen, looking down at her phone. Her head snapped up the footsteps and she placed her phone down on the counter, watching his movements.
“Hey.”
“Hi.” Her voice was uncharacteristically soft, especially for the time of day it was.
He furrowed his eyebrows and took a seat next to her, “What’s up?”
“Nothing.” Her response was quick, practiced.
Luke rolled his eyes, “Uh huh. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing!”
“Bull shit.”
She hopped off her seat and went to grab the bag of goldfish from the pantry. She came back and stood against the island, continuing to watch as Luke came up with ideas for why she was acting the way she was.
In return, Luke stared at her and her actions, the quick and fake answers, her comfort food, all tell tale signs that was not okay. While his mind couldn’t come up with any good ideas on what might’ve happened to make her upset, he still wanted to make her happy.
So doing what any of them would do, he dragged her over to the couch, handed her the remote and let her choose what she wanted to watch. At first, he thought she would’ve picked Tangled, one of her all time favorite movies, but was pleasantly surprised when she turned on Beauty and the Beast and settled into the couch.
He made his way back to the doorway, grabbing her backpack to bring it up to her room. When he came back down he threw her blanket at her before walking into the kitchen to make hot chocolate. He knew how to cheer her up, he had grown used to all of the things that made her happy. Hot chocolate, goldfish, her blanket, a Disney movie. It was unusual to see the bear out as she grew older, but it still sat in the middle of her bed.
He came back with her favorite mug and handed it to her, acknowledging her soft ‘thank you’. He watched the movie with her, drinking his own hot chocolate and sometimes stealing some of her goldfish. That usually ended with a slap to the hand but also with a few crackers, he would always claim that it was worth it.
When the movie ended, he saw y/n’s side eye in his direction. He raised his eyebrow and looked over at her, “What?”
“Are you going to make me talk about it?”
“No… but I am going to make you tell me if someone did something.”
She shook her head, “Just a crappy day.”
Luke could get on board with that, simply nudging her side and nodding his head in the direction of the remote, “Pick another.”
“You don’t have to stay here, I can just go watch movies in my room.”
“Nonsense, I would never leave you on a bad day to watch movies by yourself. I got all night. Go on.”
She smiled at him before scrolling to find another movie. She looked down at her mug once it started and frowned, “Lukey?”
“Yeah?”
“Would you make me more hot chocolate?”
He stared at her with a blank face before holding his hand out, “Fine.”
“Thank you.”
“Any time, baby bear.” He teased as he ruffled her hair.
“Dick.”

⟹ breakup ; quinn - 23, jack - 21, luke - 19, reader - 17
She hadn’t been expecting it, or maybe she had and just didn’t want to acknowledge reality. She had thought they had been okay, everything was going well and then just out of nowhere, he sent a text. A text that no girl ever wanted to receive, “I want to break up.”
She knew there wasn’t anything she had done to make him feel differently about her, at least that’s what the logical part of her brain said. Yet, she couldn’t help but think deep in her mind that she had done something to change his mind, to make him stop loving her.
The text was sent at 8:23 p.m., the first thing she saw when she finished her homework. It happened quickly, probably, maybe, she didn’t know if she was totally honest. She remembered her phone dropping, the instant tears that came to her eyes, the whirlwind of emotions she felt. She didn’t remember curling up in her bed, holding her bear to her chest, head digging into the pillow.
That was how Luke found her. At first he had thought she had watched a sad movie or a sad tiktok but then he saw the bear. The bear she only brought out when she was extremely upset or one of the boys placed it in her arms. He knew something had to be seriously wrong for it to make an appearance.
He slowly padded over to the side of her bed, squatting down so his face was mostly level with her own, “Y/n/n?”
Her eyes fluttered open at Luke’s soft voice, tears immediately visible in them. Luke winced and frowned at the sight, cringing at the whimper she let out, “Luke.”
He wasted no time standing up and sitting next to her on the bed. At first she didn’t make any signs of moving closer to him, nervous that he would tease her for crying. But then he lifted his one arm and placed it amongst her pillows and she scooted towards him, crying into his sweatshirt.
For a few moments, he didn’t do anything, just sat there silently as she cried. Then he moved his arm to wrap around her and pulled her closer into his side, kissing the top of her head. Y/n still kept her bear close to her chest even as she laid in her brother’s grip, not wanting to let go even for a minute. Luke thought about calling Jack and Quinn, but at the same time he wasn’t sure if she wanted them to see her like this.
So, he waited a while, mostly until she calmed down. And that’s when he asked, “Do you want me to call Quinn and Jack?”
Confusion flashed across his face when she nodded her head, but it was gone as quickly as it came. He nodded with a murmur, “I’ll be right back okay?”
He gave her another kiss on her head before untangling himself and walking out of the room. Y/n could only hear his muffled voice from where she laid, millions of thoughts running through her head. Most of them were about Daniel and why he broke up with her, but some about the conversation that was happening outside her door creeped in.
Meanwhile, Luke was struggling to get a hold of either of his two older brothers. Both of them had been out with some of their friends, Luke wanting to stay home and be lazy all day. He had originally just gone into Y/n’s room to see if she wanted to order some food with him and that’s when this happened.
Finally, Luke had gotten a hold of Quinn who answered with a heavy sigh, “Yes Luke?”
He only rolled his eyes, “We have a problem.”
“We as in the three of us or we as in you and y/n/n?”
“Technically both?”
That’s what gained Quinn’s alertness. He instantly shushed the group of guys he was around, sticking one finger in his ear to block out the rest of the noise that came from the bar. Most of them looked at him quizzically while the rest  looked at him with annoyance, “What is it?”
“I don’t know. I walked into y/n’s room and she was just crying, wouldn’t say anything. When she finally calmed down I asked her if she wanted me to call you guys and she said yes, so I called.”
“And when you mean crying…?”
“The bear was in fact there.”
“Alright we’re on our way.”
“Get food and ice cream. She hasn’t been out of her room since she’s been home.”
“Okay.” And then the line went quiet.
At the bar, Quinn grabbed his jacket and eyed Jack, “Let’s go.”
“What? What’s going on?” Despite his questions, Jack followed him, grabbing his own jacket.
“Y/n.”
And that was all Jack needed to hear to understand the urgency of the situation.
゚ +*:୨୧:*﹤
Luke made his way back to the bedroom, shoving his phone back in his pocket, “They’re on their way, baby bear.”
She nodded, sitting up in the slightest. Her back now rested against the headboard, her knees curled up into her chest. He sat next to her and she laid her head on his shoulder, playing with the fur from her stuffed animal.
It was quiet for a while, neither of them knowing what to say. Yet, the curiosity ate away at Luke’s brain so it wasn’t too long before he asked, “You wanna tell me what happened?”
She briefly looked up, not at him just forward, before shaking her head and looking back down. He frowned again, “Are you going to wait until they get home?”
This time she nodded and he let out a soft sigh of relief. He wasn’t oblivious to her tendencies to keep her emotions bottled up, most of the time they had to be relentlessly annoying to even get her to tell them how she was feeling. So the fact that she said she would tell them lifted a weight off his shoulders.
The minutes from when Luke’s last words were spoken to when Jack and Quinn arrived home passed both silently and quickly. The two walked into her room, bags of food from her favorite restaurant in hand and another bag of random treats and desserts in the other. They smiled at her and took their seats on her bed, Quinn on her right side and Jack in front of Luke on her left.
She eyed them as they started to take things out left and right, handing everyone their own food. Quinn took the initiative to turn the TV on and open the Disney+ App, finding Tangled and hitting play. Her eyes watered at their actions, unable to keep the tears in ultimately.
The three froze and exchanged glances with one another before looking at her. Their faces softened and Quinn pulled her into a side hug, allowing her tears to soak the fabric on his shoulder. Jack paused the movie and Luke finished handing out the food.
Once she calmed down again, she murmured a ‘thank you’ before reaching for her food.
“Ah ah ah, food after you tell us what’s wrong,” Jack spoke, tugging her food out of her hands.
She pouted at him and played with her fingers before speaking, “He broke up with me.”
“Daniel?” “He what?” “Fucking hell.”
Their reactions startled her, but she still reached for her food, “I did my part.”
Jack only nodded and gave it over to her, all of them watching as she opened it slowly and started eating. The boys flanked at each other again but then decided to finally leave it alone and settle back into her bed, watching the movie play.
As the movie went on, everyone finished their food, Jack and Luke both getting up to go throw the trash away. Quinn and y/n continued to watch as Flynn died and Mother Gothel fell out of the window. As Flynn and Rapunzle exchanged what they both thought would be their last word’s to each other, y/n leaned further into Quinn and looked up at him, “Quinny?”
He looked down at her with a soft smile, “Yeah, baby bear?”
“Will I ever find my Flynn Rider?”
It seemed like a stupid question to ask, sure. But she was 17 and going through her first heartbreak (real heartbreak). All she wanted as her own prince to make her feel wanted and loved, was that too much to ask anymore?
Quinn felt his heart break at the question. He knew it was inevitable that she would experience something like this, but that didn’t mean he didn’t want to protect her from it happening. He just held her tighter and kissed her head, “You will, y/n/n. You will.”

Close call | Lia Wälti x Arsenal!Reader
Where your girlfriend falls to the ground with a possible head injury
And ofc a happy birthday to our Wally!
Woso masterlist | Words: 1.1k
-----
“And this is why we always make fun of Wally.” Kyra points the camera to Lia, who proudly lifts up her boots and the blow dryer she’s using on them. “Blow drying her shoes, who even does that?” You watched Lia with nothing but love in your eyes, and are so focussed on your girlfriend’s proud smile, that you don’t notice the camera being in your face. “And here we have her love sick girlfriend.” You look over and are faced with the camera on your face and a smirking Kyra behind it. A blush creeps onto your cheeks as you push your hand in front of the camera.
“Are you done?” You joke as you retreat your hand when you notice that she has stopped filming. Kyra’s annoying little sister act was well known amongst the team and the fans, the vibe had grown on you as did Kyra.
“Yeah, this is perfect.” She says proudly after rewatching what she had just filmed. “Aaaaand posted.” With a shake of your head you sit down in your cubby next to Lia again, sharing a knowing look about the youngsters' antics, and the many comments you would get on your relationship later today.
Before you start your warm up, you and Lia do your little pre-match routine. Lia loved routines, if you couldn’t tell by the blow-drying her boots, and you had started one together when you first started dating. After the handshake you could do with your eyes closed by now, you take her hand in yours and jump over the sideline of the pitch. After your jumping over the line you head your separate ways for your warm ups.
The first half had been rather quiet on your end of the field, you made a few saves here and there from corners, but next to that the ball was mostly on the opposing side of the field. Just before halftime Beth was able to hit the ball to the back of the net. Even though as a goalie you couldn’t really join in on the celebrations, you clapped for Beth and raised your hands to get the crowd to cheer louder.
In the second half it seemed like the opposing team had finally found their footing, as they were advancing more and more on your side of the field, desperately looking for the equalizer.
It was when your team was playing up a little higher, that the ball was intercepted, and their striker had your team rushing back. Steph, who had made her way up the flank was too far out to make it, so Lia made the sprint back.
You positioned yourself a few steps in front of your goal, anticipating the long shot. But the opposing striker was stopped by your girlfriend throwing her full body down in a slide tackle. She hit nothing but the ball, but the striker wasn’t able to stop her run enough to stop her leg from crashing into Lia’s head.
The referee had only noticed the clean tackle, and not Lia being hit in the head and focussed back on the ball. The opposing striker had jumped over Lia, trying to get the shot in after getting blocked the first time.
You tore your eyes off of your girlfriend who was still laying on the ground, and Steph who was running towards her and pointing to her head to signal the referee that the match needed to be stopped, but the referee did not notice yet.
It took every ounce of willpower you had to focus on the player rushing towards you with the ball instead of your girlfriend having a possible head injury, and you hated every millisecond of it.
The striker took her shot, and you managed to catch the ball mid air. You immediately pointed Lia out to the referee, and dropped the ball when she finally blew her whistle. While ripping off your gloves, you ran over to your girlfriend.
Steph was cleaning the pieces of grass that stuck to her forehead off, as she was now laying on her back. You crouched down with her and grasped her hand in yours. “Are you alright?” This had to be one of the scariest moments of your life. Lia on the ground, with her hand massaging the back of her neck, after the hard hit you had witnessed just moments before.
The medics arrived seconds after you did, and you watched with a face full of concern as they did the necessary tests for a head injury.
“She'll be alright.” Steph assured you, before she headed to the sidelines where the rest of the team had gathered for some refreshments, and instructions from the coaching staff. Not you though, you were not going to leave her side until you knew she was doing okay.
When the medics were helping Lia up, your worries finally eased a little bit. The medics went to walk Lia to the side, on orders of the referee to follow the rules, but before Lia let herself get walked to the sidelines, she stopped to hug you. “I’m okay, you can stop worrying.”
You squeeze her tight, needing to feel her close to convince your brain that she was really okay. “Don't ever scare me like that again.” You whisper into her ear, giving her a final squeeze, before letting her walk off to the sidelines.
As you walked back to your goal, you shook out the worries that were still left in your body despite Lia’s reassurances. You watched her closely as the players made their way back to their positions on the field, and had to tear your eyes away when the referee blew the whistle again for play to continue.
Minutes later Lia walked onto the field again, joining back in play. Your eyes stayed on her for most of the remaining minutes of the match, making sure nothing seemed off in her movements. Lia showed no signs of just being kicked in the head though, as she was running around on the field again.
When the final whistle blew, and you managed to hold on to the lead, you made a beeline for lia. You pulled her into a tight hug, lifting her up slightly “I’m so glad you’re okay. That was so scary.”
You hold each other for a moment, before you set her down on the ground again. She smiled at you sweetly, “I’m going to need a lot of cuddles to recover from this.” Your smile grew and you nodded eagerly.

Summary: Hurt and angry, Y/N avoids Jack for most of the night until he confronts her as the party winds down. Just as things are heating up between Y/N and Jack, Lee walks in on Y/N and Jack in an intimate moment.
word count - 4341
...
Jack chuckled as he observed Quinn and his dad bickering good-naturedly over the stove. Quinn kept trying to slather more sauce onto the ribs, much to Jim's exasperation.
"No, no, you're doing it all wrong!" Jim complained, attempting to wrestle the basting brush from Quinn's hand. "You're supposed to let the meat speak for itself, not drown it in that sugary nonsense."
Quinn rolled his eyes. "Oh, come on, live a little! Everyone knows the secret to killer ribs is in the sauce dad."
Their playful argument carried across the large house, drawing amused glances from the other partygoers. Jack shook his head, grinning at their antics. He loved these laid-back gatherings in the winter, where everyone could just kick back and enjoy each other's company.
Turning his attention back to Lee, Jack tried to focus on their conversation about the latest Cardinals game. "...and did you see that pass in the third period?" Lee was saying excitedly, his hands waving animatedly as he recounted the highlights of the game. "I thought for sure they were going to score off that turnover."
Luke nodded, taking a swig of his beer. "Yeah, man, that was a close call. But the goalie really stepped up his game tonight. Those saves were unreal."
They continued to chat, their voices rising and falling with the ebb and flow of their enthusiasm. He tried to focus on the words, but a familiar laugh rang out, causing his heart to skip a beat. Jack's attention drifted from Lee's animated play-by-play of the game, his gaze inexorably drawn to where you stood by the dessert table with your girlfriends.
You were laughing at something Mia had said, your eyes sparkling with mirth. Jack watched, transfixed, as you tipped your head back, exposing the smooth column of your throat. Time seemed to slow as he took in the sight of you, the rest of the party fading into the background.
Lee, oblivious to Jack's distraction, continued chattering on about batting averages and on-base percentages. But Jack was only half-listening, his attention continually drawn back to you. "Hey, Jack! Did you catch that insane goal in overtime?"
Jack merely hummed noncommittally, his tone casual. "Yeah, yeah, I saw that. Pretty sick shot."
His gaze traced the curve of your smile, the fullness of your lips. An ache blossomed in his chest, a longing so acute it stole his breath. What would it feel like, he wondered, to have those lips pressed against his own? To trail his fingers along the silken expanse of your skin, to hear you sigh his name in the darkness?
In a trance, Jack's eyes roamed over you, drinking in every detail. The way your dress clung to your curves, the faint smell of your perfume on the jacket he had offered you outside, which of course you had given back covered in your smell. You were a masterpiece, a work of art come to life.
God, you were beautiful.
And then, as if sensing the weight of his stare, you turned. Your eyes met his across the flickering flames, and the world ground to a halt. In that suspended moment, Jack felt a jolt of electricity coursing through his veins, a pull towards you that was almost gravitational.
Your lips curved into a soft, secret smile, and Jack's heart stuttered in his chest. That smile held a thousand unspoken promises, a wealth of possibility that both terrified and thrilled him. He knew he should look away, knew he was treading on dangerous ground. But he was powerless to resist the magnetic allure of your gaze, the siren song of your presence.
Did you have any idea what you did to him? How much he wanted to pull you into his arms, consequences be damned?
He took a swig of his beer, trying to calm the riot of emotions swirling inside him. This was getting out of hand. He needed to get a grip on himself before he did something stupid.
Like confess his feelings for you, the one girl who was absolutely, completely off-limits...
Shaking his head, Jack forced himself to focus on Lee's words, determined to push all thoughts of you from his mind. At least for now.
But deep down, he knew it was futile. Because when it came to you, resistance had always been impossible. And maybe, just maybe... that was starting to feel more thrilling than frightening.
"Right? I thought the puck was going to bounce right off the crossbar, but nope - top shelf, baby!" Lee nodded, oblivious to the undercurrents swirling around him.
"No, but seriously," Ava said, her face deadpan, "I think I'm going to start a GoFundMe for my boss's fashion sense. It's a tragedy, really. The man needs an intervention."
Sophie snorted. "What, you mean the 'middle-aged dad on vacation' look isn't working for him?"
"Please," you chimed in, grinning, "I've seen actual dads on vacation with better style. He's more like... a cross between a used car salesman and a cruise ship entertainer."
Mia nearly choked on her drink. "Oh my god, I can't unsee it now. The tacky Hawaiian shirts, the ill-fitting khakis..."
"Don't forget the socks with sandals!" Ava added, shuddering dramatically.
You all burst into laughter, the absurdity of the image too much to handle. Your shoulders shook with mirth, tears of hilarity pricking at the corners of your eyes. But then, gradually, you became aware of a prickling sensation on the back of your neck. The unmistakable feeling of being watched, the stare burning into your skin like a physical caress.
Still giggling, you scanned the crowd of faces, trying to catch the culprit. Your gaze flitted from person to person - Uncle Joe by the cooler, Quinn and Jim still arguing over the grill, a group of Lee's friends from college - but no one seemed to be paying you any attention.
Until your eyes locked with a pair of striking blue ones.
Jack.
The laughter died on your lips as your breath caught in your throat. He was staring at you intensely. The old, faded baseball cap perched backwards on his head did little to tame his unruly dark hair, and the worn grey hoodie he wore strained against the muscles of his chest and shoulders.
Your heart stuttered in your chest as you drank him in, heat rising unbidden to your cheeks. In that suspended moment, it was as if everyone else simply fell away, leaving only you and Jack, connected by some invisible, unbreakable thread.
But then Lee came into view, saying something to Jack with an easygoing grin. The spell was broken as quickly as it had been cast, uncertainty flooding in to fill the void.
Swallowing hard, you tore your gaze away, only to find Mia watching you with a knowing smirk. Her green eyes sparkled with barely contained laughter, and you knew you'd been caught red-handed.
"Shut up," you muttered, feeling your face flame even hotter.
Mia held up her hands in mock surrender. "Hey, I didn't say anything! But seriously, Y/N, when are you going to put that poor boy out of his misery and jump his bones already?"
"Mia!" you hissed, mortified. "It's not... I can't... he's Lee's best friend!"
Sophie rolled her eyes. "So? That doesn't mean you two can't get your freak on. Just think of how hot the sneaking around would be..."
You buried your face in your hands, torn between laughter and abject horror. "I hate you all. You're the worst friends ever."
Ava slung an arm around your shoulders, grinning. "Nah, you love us. And you know we've got your back, no matter what. Even if 'what' is climbing that tall, dark, and broody tree over there like it's your job."
Despite your embarrassment, you couldn't help but dissolve into giggles once more, your heart feeling lighter than it had all evening.
You snuggled deeper into the cozy embrace of the blanket, content to simply bask in the company of your friends. Ava, Mia, and Sophie had settled into the chairs around you, the conversation flowing as easily as the alcohol.
As the minutes ticked by, you found yourself growing increasingly drowsy, the events of the day finally catching up to you. Your eyelids grew heavy, and you had to fight to keep them open. Dimly, you registered Quinn hopping off rib duty, his arm slung around his girlfriend's shoulders as they made their way to the other living room, easily getting swept into his mothers conversation.
A moment later, Lee and Luke disappeared upstairs, their good-natured trash talk about the upcoming NHL game fading as the door swung shut behind them. Suddenly, feeling restless, you stood up - only to sway on your feet, the blanket flopping back down onto the love seat.
The world tilted alarmingly, and for a dizzying second, you were certain you were about to face-plant right into new glass table Ellen had bought.
quick as a flash, strong hands gripped your arms, steadying you. Before you could process what was happening, you found yourself being tugged down onto a solid, warm lap.
"Hi, Mini," Jack's deep, honeyed voice rumbled in your ear, sending a shiver racing down your spine that had nothing to do with the chill in the air. Your heart leapt into your throat, a giddy thrill coursing through you at his close proximity. This was the closest you'd been to him all night, and the heat of his body seemed to seep into your very bones.
Tipping your head back, you met his gaze, a slow smile spreading across your face. There was just something about Jack, something that never failed to bring a grin to your lips and a flutter to your pulse.
Whatever it was, you knew you were hopelessly entangled in his web, caught in a pull that only seemed to grow stronger with each passing day.
"Hi yourself," you murmured, your voice coming out breathier than you'd intended. "You come here often?"
Jack's lips quirked, his arms tightening around your waist. "Well, you know me. I never could resist a damsel in distress."
You laughed, swatting at his chest. "My hero. Whatever would I do without you?"
His expression softened, something tender and unguarded flickering in his gaze. "Guess you'll never have to find out, huh?"
Your breath caught at the unspoken promise in his words, the implications hanging heavy in the scant space between you. Suddenly, the air felt charged, electric, like the moment before a thunderstorm breaks.
Awareness prickled over your skin as you stared up at him, your senses hyperattuned to every flex of his fingers on your hip, every hitch in his breathing. The rest of the world seemed to recede, fading into insignificance until there was only this - the crackle of the fire, the pounding of your heart, and the magnetic pull of Jack's eyes on yours.
It would be so easy, you thought hazily, to just lean in and close the distance between you. To finally, finally discover if his lips were as soft as they looked, if he tasted as good as you'd always imagined...
But then a burst of raucous laughter from across the yard shattered the spell, jolting you back to reality. You blinked, heat rushing to your cheeks as you realized just how close you'd been to kissing your brother's best friend - in full view of everyone, no less.
Clearing your throat, you started to pull away, only for Jack's arms to tighten around you. "Hey," he said softly, his voice low and intimate. "Where do you think you're going?"
You swallowed hard, your heart hammering against your ribs. "I... I should probably go check on Lee upstairs. He gets super sensitive over chel, you know that." It was a flimsy excuse, and from the knowing glint in Jack's eyes, he wasn't buying it for a second. But he loosened his hold, nonetheless, letting you slide off his lap on unsteady legs.
"Hurry back," he murmured, his gaze hot and heavy on your skin. "I'll be waiting."
And as you stumbled away, your pulse racing and your mind awhirl, you couldn't help but wonder...
What the hell had you just gotten yourself into?
You knew you needed to be more careful, needed to keep a tighter rein on your reactions to Jack. The last thing you wanted was for Lee to catch on to the tangle of feelings knotting in your chest.
You managed to tear yourself away from the magnetic pull of Jack's presence, mumbling some excuse to your friends about needing to use the bathroom. But instead of heading inside, you found yourself climbing the stairs, drawn by the muffled shouts and laughter emanating from Lee's bedroom.
As you reached the top of the landing, the sounds of aggressive button-mashing and colorful trash talk grew louder, bringing a smile to your face. Some things never changed.
Pushing open the door, you were greeted by the sight of Lee and Luke sprawled out on the floor, controllers in hand, their eyes glued to the giant TV screen. They were in the middle of an intense NHL match, their players zipping across the virtual ice in a blur of motion.
"No, no, no!" Lee yelled, his face scrunched up in concentration as he mashed the buttons frantically. "Don't let him get past you, you idiot!"
Luke cackled, his fingers flying over his own controller. "Too late, bro! That's what you get for picking such a weak-ass team."
Lee let out a growl of frustration as Luke's player scored a goal, the tinny sound of a horn blaring from the speakers. "Lucky shot," he grumbled, elbowing his friend in the ribs. "I'll get you back for that."
"Bring it on, loser," Luke taunted, his grin wide and shit-eating. "I could beat you with one hand tied behind my back."
You leaned against the doorframe, shaking your head in amusement as you watched them bicker and shove at each other like overgrown children. It was moments like these that made you forget all about the stresses and uncertainties of adulthood, transporting you back to simpler times.
"Having fun, boys?" you asked, your voice cutting through their competitive banter.
Two heads swiveled in your direction, identical expressions of surprise on their faces. "Oh, hey, Y/N," Lee said, his annoyance melting into an easy smile. "Didn't see you there."
"Yeah, we were just schooling each other in the art of hockey," Luke chimed in, puffing out his chest. "Wanna see me kick your brother's ass?"
You snorted, pushing off the doorframe and sauntering into the room. "As much as I'd love to witness that thrashing, I actually came up to see if you guys wanted any snacks. Though from the looks of it, you've already got enough beef to feed a small army."
Lee rolled his eyes, chucking a pillow at your head which you deftly dodged. "Har har, very funny. But yeah, some snacks would be awesome. I'm starving."
"When are you not starving?" you teased, ruffling his hair affectionately. "I swear, you're like a human garbage disposal."
"Hey, I'm a growing boy!" Lee protested, swatting your hand away. "I need my sustenance."
Luke snickered, ducking as Lee tried to smack him with a controller. "Yeah, keep telling yourself that, buddy. I think you stopped growing in the eighth grade."
As the two dissolved into another round of good-natured ribbing, you couldn't help but laugh, your heart swelling with fondness for these ridiculous, wonderful boys.
They might drive you crazy sometimes, but moments like these? Where you could just relax and joke around, forgetting about all the complications and uncertainties of the real world?
They were priceless.
So you settled yourself on the bed, content to watch Lee and Luke battle it out on the digital ice, their laughter and trash talk washing over you like a balm.
And for a little while, at least, you let yourself forget about the heat of Jack's gaze, the confusion swirling in your heart.
you headed back downstairs, the warmth of your impromptu hangout session with Lee and Luke still buzzing pleasantly under your skin, you couldn't help but feel a renewed sense of resolve.
So what if you had some complicated, confusing feelings for Jack? So what if his mere presence sent your pulse racing and your thoughts spiraling into dangerous, uncharted territory? At the end of the day, he was like a brother to you - and that was something you couldn't afford to lose.
Squaring your shoulders, you stepped down into the living room, determined to put some distance between yourself and the magnetic pull of Jack's orbit. You'd just grab another drink, maybe chat with your friends for a bit, and then make some excuse about needing to head home early. Easy peasy.
Ava, Mia, and Sophie were huddled together, their heads bent close as they whispered furiously to each other. The easy laughter and playful banter from earlier had vanished, replaced by a tense, almost electric undercurrent that set your nerves on edge.
"Hey guys," you said cautiously, sinking down into your seat. "What's going on?"
Three pairs of eyes snapped to your face, wide and startled, like kids caught with their hands in the cookie jar.
"Oh, Y/N! We were just..." Mia trailed off, shooting a panicked look at the other two.
Sophie jumped in, her voice a little too bright, a little too brittle. "We were just talking about... boys. You know, the usual."
But there was something off about her tone, something strained and artificial that set your internal alarms blaring. You'd known these girls long enough to tell when they were hiding something - and right now? They were definitely hiding something.
"Cut the crap, Soph," you said, your gaze flicking between the three of them. "I know you guys better than that. Seriously, what's up? You're starting to freak me out."
"Y/N, we need to talk. It's about Jack."
Your stomach dropped, a cold, creeping dread slithering up your spine at the mention of his name, but you tried to play it cool. "What about him?"
Mia and Sophie exchanged a loaded glance, she nodded encouragingly, their faces grim as Mia spoke up, her voice low and conspiratorial. "We overheard him talking to Luke earlier, and... well, he said some things. About you."
Your mind raced, a thousand possibilities whirling through your head. What could she possibly mean? A cold sense of dread trickled down your spine. "What kind of things?"
Sophie bit her lip, looking uncomfortable. "He was laughing about how easy it was to string you along, how you were just another notch in his bedpost. He even said..." She paused, as if gathering her courage. "He said he had a bet going with his teammates to see how fast he could get you into bed."
The words hit you like a punch to the gut, knocking the air from your lungs. It couldn't be true. Jack wouldn't... he couldn't...not after tonight.
But even as you tried to deny it, doubt began to creep in, insidious and corrosive. All those moments between you - the stolen glances, the lingering touches, the whispered promises - had they all been a lie? A cruel game played by a master manipulator?
Anger surged through you, hot and bitter, mingling with the sharp sting of betrayal. How could you have been so stupid, so naive?
"I... I need some air," you mumbled, stumbling to your feet and away from the concerned gazes of your friends.
you wove your way through the crowd of laughing, chattering partygoers, a sudden commotion near the edge of the yard caught your attention. Frowning, you craned your neck, trying to get a better look - only for your heart to plummet straight into your stomach.
There, surrounded by his friends near the Christmas tree, was Jack - and he wasn't alone. A tall, stunning brunette was glued to his side, their arms pressed flush against each other as she leaned into him, whispering something in his ear.
For a moment, you couldn't breathe, couldn't think, couldn't do anything but stare as a tidal wave of emotions crashed over you. Hurt, betrayal, and a searing, white-hot jealousy that took your breath away with its intensity.
You watched, frozen, as Jack threw his head back and laughed at something the girl said, throwing his arm over her shoulder. They looked so comfortable together, so natural - like they'd done this a thousand times before.
And just like that, the fragile bubble of denial you'd been clinging to burst, the illusion shattering like glass at your feet.
You were such a fool.
Of course Jack didn't have feelings for you. Of course he saw you as nothing more than his best friend's kid sister, a silly little girl with a hopeless crush. How could you have ever thought otherwise?
For the rest of the night, you did your best to avoid Jack, always keeping him in your peripheral vision but never letting him get too close. Every time you caught a glimpse of his tousled hair or heard the rumble of his deep laugh, your heart clenched painfully, a fresh wave of humiliation washing over you.
But as the party began to wind down and guests started to trickle out, you found yourself cornered by the one person you'd been desperately trying to evade.
"Y/N." Jack's voice was low and urgent as he caught your elbow, spinning you around to face him.
"Nothing," you managed to choke out, your voice cracking traitorously. "I'm fine. I just... I need to go."
But even as you tried to pull away, Jack's grip on your arm tightened, his fingers digging into your skin with a desperate sort of urgency. "Wait, please. Just talk to me. Tell me what's going on."
You yanked your arm from his grasp, glaring up at him with all the fury and hurt you could muster. "I have nothing to say to you, Jack."
His brow furrowed, confusion etched across his unfairly handsome features. "What's going on? You've been avoiding me all night. Did I... did I do something wrong?"
"Why do you care?" you spat, the words bitter and acidic on your tongue. "Shouldn't you be getting back to your girlfriend over there?" Jack blinked, a flicker of confusion passing over his stupidly handsome face. A harsh, bitter laugh tore from your throat. "Don't play dumb, Jack. I know all about your little bet. About how I'm just another checkmark to you."
Jack's eyes widened, shock and disbelief warring on his face. "What? Y/N, that's insane. I would never... who told you that?"
You scoffed, crossing your arms over your chest like a shield. "Does it matter? The point is, I know the truth now. I know what kind of guy you really are."
He took a step closer, crowding into your personal space, his gaze locked on yours with an intensity that stole your breath. "The truth? The truth is that I'm crazy about you, Y/N. I have been for years." Your heart stuttered in your chest, a traitorous flutter of hope sparking to life. "That girl... she's just a friend. I swear. There's nothing going on between us," he insisted, his voice low and fervent.
One hand came up to cradle your cheek, his thumb brushing over your skin with a tenderness that made you ache. "I could never lie to you, Y/N. You're... you're everything to me."
You wanted to believe him. God, how you wanted to believe him. But the seeds of doubt had already taken root, twisting your thoughts into knots.
"I don't... I can't..." you whispered, hating the way your voice shook.
Jack's other hand found your waist, pulling you flush against the solid warmth of his body. "Then let me prove it to you," he murmured, his breath hot against your ear. "Let me show you how much you mean to me."
And then his mouth was on yours, fierce and desperate and achingly perfect, his kiss searing away every last shred of resistance. You melted into him, a broken moan rising in your throat as his tongue swept over yours, claiming and possessing and branding you as his own.
The kiss was electric, a live wire igniting every nerve ending in your body until you felt like you might burst into flames right then and there. His hands slid into your hair, his fingers tangling in the silky strands as he angled your head, deepening the kiss until you were drowning in him, lost to everything but the heat of his touch and the sweet, dark bliss of his mouth on yours.
"It's you, Y/N," he rasped, his voice low and raw with emotion. "It's always been you." 😉
just as you were losing yourself completely in his embrace, a familiar voice cut through the haze of desire, shattering the intimate bubble you'd created. "Where's Y/N?" Lee called out, his footsteps echoing on the stairs.
You and Jack froze, your lips still locked together, your bodies intertwined. What were you doing? Making out with your brother's best friend, in the middle of a party, where anyone could see you...
Jack sensed your sudden tension, pulling back just enough to meet your gaze. His eyes were dark, pupils blown wide with arousal, but there was a softness there too, a tenderness that made your heart ache.
"Shit," you muttered. Your mind raced, frantically searching for an excuse, any excuse. "I… I'll just tell him I was in the bathroom or we were just talking," you whispered, straightening your clothes with shaking hands.
"Hey," he murmured, brushing a strand of hair back from your face. "It's okay. We don't have to hide."
You swallowed hard, your throat tight with emotion. "But Lee... what if he..."
"What if I what?" Lee's voice was closer now, just on the other side of the door.
Your heart lodged in your throat, fear and guilt and a desperate, wild hope all tangling together in your chest. This was it. The moment of truth. Once Lee walked through that door, there would be no going back.

Swimmer // Mary Earps
Tumblr media
a/n: based off this request:
Tumblr media
Your alarm rang exactly at 6am but you were awake already. Too nervous and excited to sleep through the whole night. "Shut it off" Mary grumbled, tightening her arm around your torso. "I need to get up" you told her softly, trying to wiggle out of her grasp. "Mary!" you laughed as she smacked her other arm around you, pulling you on top of her.
"Sleep"
"No"
"Cuddle me"
"No"
"Love me"
"No"
"You do though" she replied with closed eyes, squeezing her arms that were around you as she wiggled her upper body which was laid underneath you.
"I have a competition to be" you told her sternly as you pulled yourself up, now straddling her lap.
"It‘s not until noon, is it?"
You hummed in agreement, slowly getting off her as she just grumbled again, "and you‘re leaving me at 6am, don‘t you love me?" you sighed at her antics, silently giggling at the lover girl.
As you walked into the bathroom, ready to take your shower, you didn’t hear the goal keeper leave your shared bed. She made her way in the kitchen, starting to prepare your special pre-swim-breakfast. It was a mixture out of everything, fruit and vegetables, sweet and salty, yummy and necessary.
She knew the meal by heart, many times prepared already. Mary was your biggest supporter, your number one fan. She would be at every swim contest, at every important competition of yours.
After your shower, you patted in the kitchen, smelling the familiar smell of your breakfast. Snuggling your arms around the lioness from behind, you kissed along her neck as a thank you. You had told her often before that she didn‘t have to get up when it was her day off or late training just to make you breakfast but she always did. And will forever do.
It was the least she could do for you, in her eyes. In your eyes, she already did enough by loving you.
"Thank you, I love you"
-
Mary sat in the stands next to Lessi and Ella as she nervously bit her nails. "Stop that" Leah smacked the back of her head, stopping her from biting the varnish of her nails. "She‘ll do great" Ella stated as she squeezed Mary’s thigh comfortingly.
"Hm" the united player wasn‘t listening, just watching you talking to your coach. You were in your swim gear, the swimsuit skin-tight.
The whole lionesses squad sat beside and behind Mary, something that wasn‘t a sight you saw often. The girls were total sweethearts, especially Mary’s United friends which you also considered as your own friends.
You didn‘t even know they would be there, Mary hadn‘t said a word.
Unknown to you, Mary had sent a text to each lioness asking if they want to come support you - at one of the major tournaments in your career.
The goalie watched you like a hawk, she felt confident - you were a great swimmer yet she knew your opponents. The two of you had spent hours watching footage of them, their strength, their weakness.
Your opponents were great as well.
It was the same like in Mary’s club career. Even though she didn‘t play in the same team as Rachel Daly or Millie Bright for example - they were still great.
Ten minutes later, you walked to your start, getting ready in position. You looked one last time at Mary, smiling fondly at her, the goalie already with her eyes on you. She matched your smile, giving you a small but assuring nod, you can do it.
And you did.
Your one motivation was Mary - to bring that trophy home to her.
The lionesses watched you gliding through the water, it looked majestic in a mesmerizing way - exciting. No one cheered, you wouldn‘t hear them as Mary had told them often enough. It was always just: keep your fingers crossed. And all of them did so. Mary prayed that your hard work would pay off while the skipper had a stern face watching the scene in front of her, Tooney and Russo nervous wrecks beside Mary. So many different emotions, yet one was the same as you arrived the finish 'line' - joy. As your head popped up, you pulled down your goggles and swimming cap, grinning widely. Your opponents finishing just now. You did it. You won. As you lifted yourself out of the pool, Mary’s eyes roamed over your body, the way your arm and leg muscles flexed. Then she quickly checked if other people were looking - no one was allowed to look besides her. You gave the goalie a little wave before you grabbed a towel, wrapping it around your body. Your coach was clapping your cheeks happily, pushing you towards Mary before the ceremony would start.
Pressing a quick and firm kiss to your lips, the United player slung her arm around you, not caring if you were wet, "I’m so proud, baby" she told you with hearts in her eyes, a wide smile displayed on her cheeks.
"Am too" Alessia added as the girls congratulated one after one. "This is so cool, you know but it‘s so damn hot in here" Maya stated as her jeans was rolled up, "this one" pointing to Mary "hasn’t told me that I would burn in here" she grumbled, fanning cool air against her face with her hand.
"Don‘t worry, she always does this" you smiled, "she thinks she‘s cool" you whispered, winking. The goal keeper squeezed your hip as she pulled you up your front, "young lady!" she gasped. Just as she was about to kiss you, you slipped out of her arms, "have to gooo" you grinned, hop running to your coach.
-
With pride in her eyes, she watched you receive your medal, a proud smile covering her cheeks as she rapidly clapped her hands, animating all of the others girl to follow her quick clapping yet her clapping was the loudest - who would‘ve thought.
With the trophy in your hand the press took some photos (you had your tracksuit on) and then some pictures with your coach.
After all the media stuff, you went for a quick shower, packing your back before you walked to the car with damp hair, Mary waiting there.
"My love" she smiled, outstretching her hand for you to take which you gladly excepted, "baby" you giggled as the girl pressed kisses along your neck and jaw, showing how proud she was, "I love you"
Pushing her away slightly, "I love you too".
The charmer she was, she kindly opened you the door, before she hopped around the car, taking a seat in the drivers seat. With your passenger princess privileges your phone was already connected Reneé Rapp‘s voice filling the car as you sang along.
-
"And here the trophy" Mary stated proudly as she found the perfect place for it. On top of the shelf in the middle of the living room, "look at it"
"Don't you think that's a bit noticeable?" you asked with red cheeks, suddenly embarrassed that she was hyping you up, "no no, baby. This is perfect. Everybody can see it" she smiled fondly, hearts in her eyes as her arms went around your waist.
"Exactly"
"Is someone getting shy?" with her nose she bobbed yours, pecking your lips a few times as you nodded shyly.
"You should be proud, baby. Because I am" peppering kisses across your face, you laughed at her childish behavior which made you so happy - your goofball.
Tapping your but, her famous grin spread across her face, "this is going to be your throphy shelf!"
"No-"
"End of discussion"
And for once, it was indeed because the goalies lips were already kissing along your skin, making your heart race and knees wobble.
She would show you how proud she really was.

Love your fics and would you do one for Laura feirsinger something fluffy. ( Only if you write for her)
a/n: i wanted to write something for Feiersinger for a while so I'm more than happy with that request
"Say it"
Tumblr media
Pairing: Laura Feiersinger x AUSTRIAWNT!Reader
Summary: you just want to hear two words
Type: Fluff
Warning: nothing
word count: 1893
translation: Ich liebe dich/Je t'aime/Ti amo = I love you
-------
You and Laura knew each other from as far as you can remember. First, you played together at Bayern Munich before she left for Sand, and you left to play two seasons for Lyon before coming back to Munich. Your relationship had always been special; you were practically a couple even before she asked you out formally. But it was only a few months before her big move to Frankfurt that she found the courage to do it.
Since then, a lot of things have happened. You joined her in her new club and had to leave your commun best friend, Sarah Zadrazil, behind. And more importantly, you were officially engaged. But unfortunately, your fiancé signed a new contract with AS Roma in Italy, which meant you would spend almost the whole season missing her.
Fortunately for both of you, you were playing for the same national team, and with the new National League came a new national camp. And that was where you were today. The girls just arrived at the hotel when you were already looking for your fiancé. Since her transfer, there was something she never told you, and you needed to hear it now.
As expected by all your teammates, when you and Laura spotted each other, you didn't leave each other. It was not a secret to everyone how close you were, and some of them were used to making fun of it at first, but now it has become something usual.
"Where is Laura?" Barbara asked when she spotted a group of girls talking in Manu's room.
"With Y/n. Like always." The goalie replied.
"Why do I feel stupid to ask that?" The midfielder asked before walking to your room. She was about to knock, but she stopped when she heard something unusual.
"Oh, come on, babe, I know you can say it. It's been like, what? Six weeks since you started to train with them, I'm sure you can tell me now." You said while you were unpacking your stuff.
"We already talked about it, Y/n. I don't know if I'm ready for that." She replied.
"Bullshit." You said before throwing yourself on the bed and dragging the Roma's player with you. "We both know that I'll find it." You said before gently kissing her.
"Yeah, but let me time to prepare myself before."
"Okay, no pressure." You engulfed your body in her tiny ones, sharing as much warmth as you could. "I missed you." You confessed.
"And I missed you too. Now come on, let's get ready, or the girls will start to worry." She instructed you.
"Okay, but just five more minutes." Even if she knew she had to complain, she couldn't when she saw you so vulnerable.
On the other side of the door, your Frankfurt teammate was already not here. The midfielder rushed to her previous destination a few seconds earlier.
"Girls, I think we have a problem." She said bursting the door open.
"Don't you know how to know on a door?" Sarah Puntigam said after everyone was thrilled by the midfielder's antics.
"Sorry, not sorry, but we have a bigger problem than a fucking door." Barbara said.
"Don't swear in front of the kids." Sarah Z said covering Katharina's ears what made everyone laugh.
"Sorry, but yeah, I was saying that I think Laura and Y/n are breaking up." The new froze everyone and everything in the room for a few seconds.
"WHAT?" All the players yelled.
"Shh, keep it low." Barbara instructed them.
"How do you want us to keep it low when you announce something like that?" Sarah P said, gaining a nod from all her teammates. "And how did you get that information?"
"I may have or haven't heard their conversation when I was going to
see Laura." She explained.
"WHAT?" Everyone yelled again.
"You know how much Y/n hate when someone tries to invade her privacy, and it's even worse when it involves her and Laura." Manu reminded her.
"I know, but it's not like I wanted to listen on purpose. I will apologize later. Now can we talk about the main subject?"
"Oh, what are you talking about? I want to be in." You said, appearing behind your teammate. The room froze for a moment. You felt all eyes on you and started to feel a little confused. "Uh, are we interrupting something?" You asked.
"Nothing; we were just wondering where you were, right, girls?" Sarah P said trying to convince you and your fiancé. When you heard all the girls agreeing, you found it suspicious, but you were not going to question it, at least not now.
"Anyway, coach wants us in the meeting room in five minutes." Laura said, and after that, you both left to the room mentioned.
"I don't know about you, but they didn't seem to be near to break up for me." Kat said.
"I totally agree with you, but maybe they don't want to make us worry." Barbara proposed.
"Maybe, but right now the coach wants to see us, so let's go." Sarah Z said before leaving the room, quickly followed by the rest of the team.
In the room, the girls were a little shocked to see an empty seat between yours and Laura's. Even if they didn't question it, some glances were not discreet, and some whispers could be heard. The Bayern midfielder took her seat between the two of you while Barbara could finally talk with your fiancé.
At the end of the meeting, you were one of the first to leave the room. But you were quickly stopped by your ex-teammate.
"Hey, are you okay?" Sarah asked you.
"Uhh...yeah." You replied.
"Where are you going?"
You paused a little. "Restroom."
"Oh, okay, sorry. I'll not restrain you more." She said a little nervous, making you chuckle.
"Yep, I'll be back soon; don't worry." With that, you just walked away.
What should have been a little weird thing for your teammates became something more when the next day Laura decided to train with her best friend letting you with Kathy. You both didn't notice, but a lot of confused looks were exchanged between the entire team.
At the end of the training the Roma's player was leaving with her best friend when she heard you calling her name. She quickly glanced at you before quickly running away from you, forcing you to chase her.
"Okay, that's weird." Sarah P started.
"The most weird thing was that they were both smiling." Manu continued.
"Maybe Barbara was right." Viktoria finished.
"No, that's impossible. We all know how much they love each other; they can't just break up and keep the facade in front of us. We need to start an investigation." Sarah Z proposed, and everybody agreed.
A few hours later, you were watching a movie with all the team in your room. There was a good atmosphere, and everybody was enjoying the moment until your phone buzzed. You excused yourself and left the room to answer. In less than five minutes, you were back in the room and found your spot next to the tiny midfielder.
"Who was that?" Laura asked you quietly to not bother everyone.
"Oh, it was just Laura who wanted my advice for something." You replied, and your fiancé just nodded before she placed her head against your shoulder.
The next morning, the girls were planning a real plan to do everything they could to not let their favorite couple break apart when they heard someone run to them.
"Girls, please help me." Laura begged with an amused expression. The team didn't have time to process everything until you reached them.
"Okay, you know what? Let's do that in another way." You took a moment to think before you started again. "Okay, in English."
The entire team was looking at both of you very confusedly.
"Okay. 3...2...1... I love you!" You both said at the same time. The girls were more confused, but you didn't give them time to question anything before you started again. "Now, in Deutsch. 3...2...1... Ich liebe dich." You said again at the same time.
"What's happening here?" Barbara asked.
"Just a minute. Let me finish that." You return your focus to the tiny midfielder. "Now... Je t'aime." You saw her blush, which made you grin. "And?" There was a little silence; all the attention was now on Laura.
"Ti amo." She mumbled, but your face showed her that you didn't understand. She took a breath and focused her gaze on yours: "Ti. Amo. Is this okay now?"
Instead of replying, you hugged her and crashed your lips against hers. "More than okay." You said with the biggest smile you could ever put on your face right now.
"Okay, what's happening now? I thought you were about to break up. Why are you so lovey-dovey right now?" Manu asked.
"What are you talking about?" You asked, very surprised by her sentence.
"I heard you two talk the first day of the camp, and I thought that you were about to break up because she didn't want to do something or something like that." Barbara confessed.
"First, Barbara, you know that Y/n doesn't when you spy on her. Second, we never thought about breaking up; why could you ever think about it?" Laura explained.
"Wow, now we look stupid." Viktoria said.
"For your information, you always look stupid, like all of you." You said, making your fiancé laugh. "Except for Laura and Sarah Z, of course." You added.
"Okay, that's rude." Your captain said, "But can you explain what just happened?" Laura hid her face in your torso out of shame after remembering why you were both here.
"Oh, it's actually a funny story." You started. "You know that we have known each other since as far as I can remember. But we didn't always play together, so since I came back to Germany after my little trip to France, we decided to establish a rule in our relationship. Every time one of us has to play in another country, they have to learn the local language to say, I love you in this language." You explained.
"Why does that sound cute and dumb at the same time?" Viktoria whispered to your captain.
"Because it is, but she was the one who proposed that, and I can't refuse her anything, so here we are now." Laura defended you.
"But what does this have to do with your behavior from the start of the camp?" The Bayern Sarah asked.
"That's because she didn't want to say it. So I had to chase her everywhere to convince her to say it." You explained.
"I can't wait for the wedding. I would be personally offended if Y/n don't do something dumb like this on  D-day. Manu said.
When the girls started to ask more questions, the coach called you for training. On your way to the pitch, you had your fingers intertwined with Laura's when she suddenly stopped making you look at her.
Fortunately for you, you didn't have to say anything because she didn't give you time to react before she kissed you. "Ti amo." She said before letting your hand go and running on the pitch.
"Wait, can we get married like today?" You asked while you ran after her.

I'm in desperate need of some more stonesford PLEASE -I was thinking how John was all over Ramsdale for some reason but then he seemed to remember who he belongs to lol
Pickford doesn't strike me as the jealous type however I think that it would drive *John* crazy that he can't make him jealous by being with the other goalkeeper anyway there's a story there somehow I believe it'd be interesting to see where it'd take us (hopefully some spicy loving for John )
john stones/jordan pickford | be with me ♡ (smut)
In the brisk chill of England's training ground, John stands beside Aaron, cracking jokes and leaning in closely to the goalie, their laughter echoing across the pitch.
Yet, despite the whispers and nudge-nudge-wink-winks of their teammates, Jordan appears to remain unfazed.
With his trademark self-assured grin, he’s the epitome of confidence. Never one to get easily jealous, Jordan continues with his training, tossing occasional, indifferent glances in John’s direction.
But John is more perturbed by Jordan’s lack of reaction than by any of the banter from the other lads. The centre-back, used to eliciting at least a hint of possessiveness from Jordan, starts to playfully escalate things with Aaron.
More body contact, standing as close together possible as if to huddle from the wind, gleaming smiles that aren’t too hard to draw from the blond.
However, Jordan’s nonchalance remains unbroken, driving John up the wall. He thrives on the fiery interactions and unspoken challenges the two of them usually share. But this? This cold indifference? It's uncharted territory for John.
After another training session filled with John’s antics, he corners Jordan in the dressing room.
“Why don’t you care?” John blurts out, frustration evident in his voice.
Jordan, lifting an eyebrow, smirks, “Who says I don’t?”
John, caught off-guard, stammers, “Me and Rammers. You haven’t said a word on it.”
Jordan shrugs, leaning in so close that their noses almost touch. “Maybe I trust you too much. Or maybe,” he whispers, a hint of mischief in his eyes, “I like watching you try so hard.”
John’s cheeks burn. Without another word, Jordan turns to leave, but not before grazing John’s arm with his fingers, sending shivers down his spine.
Later that night, as they sit on the balcony of Jordan’s hotel room, the tension is still sitting heavy in the air and the frown lines on John’s forehead.
Jordan finally breaks the silence, “You know you’re mine, right?”
John nods, wrapping an arm around the other’s shoulders. “Always have been. Just... missed this. Us.”
Jordan grins, planting a kiss on John's lips. “You don’t need to make me jealous. Just need you to be with me.”
When John can’t help himself and chuckles into laughter against Jordan’s mouth, the goalkeeper prepares himself with a sigh before asking dryly, “What.”
“Nothin’.”
John protests as he leans back to sit up straight and grin at Jordan, enjoying watching the other’s brows dip reproachfully.
“It’s fucking something. What is it?”
“Just didn’t expect you to come out with the romantic one-liners is all.” John tells him through a grin, earning himself a swat to his thigh that just causes him to laugh again.
Jordan shakes his head, “You’d rather I’d still be a prick to you, is that it?”
The grin that creeps onto John’s cheeks is mischievous as he leans back into the gap between them, tilting his head in apparent consideration, “…maybe sometimes.”
He watches the fire lick behind Jordan’s eyes and suddenly decides that that’s what he’s been missing all camp.
“You gonna do anything about it?”
John asks with a smirk, and Jordan’s lightning quick to respond, manoeuvring the both of them back into his room until the backs of John’s legs hit the bed.
“Sit,” Jordan orders, which earns him a raised eyebrow, “What? You wanted me to be a prick, so sit down.”
John sits on the edge of the bed after that, Jordan’s authoritative tone shooting straight to his cock and buzzing at his insides.
He’s used to hearing it on the pitch, but here… just for him, it’s got a very different meaning.
“You gonna suck my cock?”
Jordan asks as he takes John’s chin into one of his hands, directing his gaze upwards. Jordan trails his eyes across John’s face, cupping his cheek a little too gently before he seems to remember what he’s supposed to be doing and digs his fingers into the flesh there instead, “Hmm?”
John doesn’t let their eye contact break as he reaches forwards to pull down Jordan’s trackie bottoms and boxers all in one, allowing his cock to spring upwards, already hard at the sight of John sat before him.
It’s familiar when John takes Jordan’s cock inside his mouth. The head fat and wide as John closes his lips over it to suck before he’s licking downwards and covering what he can’t reach with his hands.
And John knows that Jordan loves seeing him like this, so he always does his best to put on a bit of a show: glancing upwards to lock eyes with Jordan when he can, swallowing as deeply as he dares, before pulling back to grin up at him.
He purposely presses Jordan’s cock against the inside of his cheek where Jordan’s hand rests and feels the effect it has on the other man as his hips jerk and thrust sharply into his mouth, causing John to splutter.
Even in this state, Jordan has the mind to mutter sorry, but then he’s following up that by asking, “Can I fuck your face?” To which John just hums and nods.
Jordan’s hands settle at the back of his head and bury themselves in his hair before he’s pistoning his cock into John’s mouth, grunting softly every time he hits the back of John’s throat and causes him to gag. Calling him a good lad, which has John frowning but not protesting.
“Gonna fucking come.”
Jordan tells him eloquently soon after, releasing the grip his has in John’s hair ever-so-slightly so he can reply when he asks, “On your face?”
John resits the temptation to roll his eyes and just tells him to do whatever he wants.
Three strokes of Jordan’s cock later, John finds his cheeks and lips spluttered with cum. He licks it off what he can with his tongue because he also knows Jordan secretly likes to see.
But before he gets it all, Jordan’s hand comes to rest against his cheek. Soft again.
“Fucking perfect, you,” He says, and John leans against his palm, “Fuckin’ perfect.”

Party Buddies*
Tumblr media
Pairing: chan x fem!reader Word Count: 1,269 Genre: partying, smoking, flirting Summary: at a friends birthday/soccer team celebration, you join a spicy game & end the night questioning your once innocent friendship. Warning: 18+ please!!! smoking weed, drinking, partying, making out?, petname - kitten yeshello frined. i haven't written in a very very long time. please be nice. also i did not spell or grammar check lmao feel free to xx
PART TWO PART THREE
“No! No way that is happening!” your voice is slightly slurred, effected by the alcohol you had consumed throughout the night. Unbeknownst to you, your words came out, louder than expected, causing your friend to jump up and cover your mouth with a loud giggle.
Your bestfriend Jaclyn had brought you along to her boyfriends birthday party, something you had gotten used to at this point, because you swear, she couldn’t go anywhere without you and you felt the exact same way. You liked her boyfriend Jisung, and even kind of got along with his soccer team friends, which was how the two of you ended up at yet another team party together. Tonight it was not only Jisung’s birthday but also the teams championship win.
Silly antics and party games had taken over the large rented Air BnB, and you found yourself caught in one of the more inappropriate games taking place on the second floor. “You can’t say no, Y/n! It’s part of the game!” Sex truth or dare, that was and it was just starting to heat up. “There has to be an alternative, like take a shot or something” you plead, cheeks rosey from not only the alcohol but the dare which you had rolled. “Besides—— Where am I even going to get a remote vibrator at this hour? It’s not like there’s any 24/7 sex shops near by.” Yup, you had rolled what was one of the more ‘vanilla’ dares; allow a partner of your choice to control a hands free vibrator for the next few hours.
Your hazy eyes glanced up at the circle that had formed in the large hall way, joints being passed around and shots being downed. This was one of the more fun and interesting parties, typically the parties end by 11 and end with you, Jaclyn and Jisung drunkly cleaning before he calls an Uber for you, ensuring you get home safely. Filling the hallway was a handful of members of the soccer team, a couple of girls from a frat down the street and a few others that Jaclyn had invited from class. By now your turn had gone to the back of everyone’s mind, and the game had already turned into a pairing off make out session. Good, your clue to escape. Quickly bringing yourself to your feet, the loud music of downstairs was starting to tone down, setting a more relaxing mood over the home. “Hey! I’m calling taxi’s and fucking Ubers, just chill for a bit man, I’ll get you home!” Jisung was so loud when he was drinking, but he always made sure everyone was safe. You shook your head with a laugh, stabling your self before turning and basically hitting a wall - or a strong male chest actually.
“Easy there shortie, don’t need you falling down again” his thick Australia accent canceled out the rest of the noise immediately and your eyes glanced up at the taller, browned haired boy. Chan was the teams goalie and one of the guys you actually got along with, and usually the one who would babysit you if you got to drunk for Jaclyn to handle. Your hand easily slaps his chest, a light laugh slipping through your lips. “One time, one time that happened and you never let me live it down.” Which was true, you had fallen drunkly on ice during one of your first encounters with Chan. “Hey, I told you before, I’ll carry your heels and make sure you’re home, but I am not holding your hair while you puke” he teased, gently tugging your wrist to follow him.
“Oi! Bin! Have a good night mate! Text me when you get home ya?” Chan yelled from the balcony you two had hidden out on while the party died down. “Ah- he’s got someone with him..” chan trailed, backing into the chair he had risen from, handing you the joint that was being shared. “Probably got gonna hear from him” he chuckled, grabbing another pre roll and taking his time to light it as you finish the first. This was typically how the two of you finished the night off, after finding out your similar love for getting high before passing out. The next half an hour was silent, the noise of cars coming, going and countless ‘goodbyes and I love yous’ all while you and Chan started at the night sky, littered with bright stars.
“Do you believe in aliens?” Chan randomly mumbles out, his red eyes glossed meeting yours. Giggles erupted, not completely realizing how effect you were by the weed. “Well-“ you start, sliding yourself up in the chair, repositioning yourself in the blanket you had grabbed on the way out. “There was this one time when I was a kid, I fucking swore I saw a bright light in the sky outside my window. I ran to my brothers room to show up, but by the time we made it back to my room, it was gone. Andrew just told me I was dreaming and went off to bed, but I swear I saw it! I swear!” Your laugh, throwing your head back as your eyes return to the sky. “There’s so much out there, we don’t even know the half of it. The world, space. It’s all crazy.” Before you realize it, you’ve gone into one of your stoned, no filter rants. Minutes had passed by before your head fell down and eyes locked with Chans. He had phone his in his hand, screen lit and by the expression on his face, you knew something was up.
To your surprise, Chan makes no effort to hide his phone and chooses to explain why he was searching for sex stores near by. “Listen, I was curious” he starts, running his hand through his hair, adjusting forward and setting his phone on the table causing a slight illumination to his face. “What are you even talking about?” You questioned. Yes you had in fact forgotten all about the riské game the two of you had been playing earlier in the evening. Now your eyes were locked on his screen, and he was roaring up a storm across from you. “You’re cute” he breathed, slowly catching his breath. There hadn’t been any hints of flirting since your friendship had begun, in fact Chan was one of the most gentleman like guys you had ever met but now you questioned this new side of him. Without noticing, he had inched closer across the small table, moving a piece of your hair from your face to gently brush it behind your ear. “Don’t you think it could be fun?” He asked, voice low and slow. His hand worked it’s way to your chin, pulling your body in his direction and locking eyes.
Shit. Shit. You were flushed red, not even able to catch a breathe before he leans forward, placing the most gently kiss upon the edge of your lips, “Don’t you think it would be fun to be my little play toy?” His words and quiet, but start screaming repeatedly in your head. What the fuck. Before you can even reply, he swiftly stands to his feet, adjusting his quite obvious bulge in his pants. “You let me know kitten. You have my number” chan smirked down at you, gently patting your head before taking off back into the house. Usually you would be swatting his hand away or flipping him off, but now he has you stunned, sitting with a world win of wild thoughts in your head.

Maybe Nico fights in Angie’s behalf and she gets mad at him for it bc she can fight her own battles? Also maybe a league villain for Angie? Like someone that always gives her trouble on the ice or in the media. Just ideas! Love the recent fic!!!!
-🍹
I love this and thank you!!
Imagine it's just someone so so random like Connor McDavid (or any random guy ever) and for some reason, her presence on ice just pisses him off so greatly.
Every great needs a villain… at first, Angie is just being a little shit on the ice and its literally not that serious, but he takes it so seriously and he loses his fucking mind (he is a ‘by the books’ kinda player so really I don't think he'd be a fan of her silly antics)
She is fast and skilled too so she has a big mouth that she is not afraid to run, but she also can make opponents look stupid, and that's exactly what she does!!
In the first game she's playing into that pest role, and they are a little pissed off, chirping each other, she's egging them on, their all being a little push and shovey.
The next game though it is like there is a big red target in her back and she is just getting her shit rocked, she's holding her own until McDavid goes to shove her away from his goalie after she gets a breakaway and he accidentally clips her in the face and nearly knocks her teeth out. Her lips are bleeding, she's GAGGED, and Nico just sees red.

Ice Hockey is the most slept on sport in North America because it’s history is one of batshit nonsense and drunken antics that miraculously crystalized into diehard traditions. For example: The famous Stanly Cup:
Tumblr media
Not the big column underneath, the actual Cup itself is just the little dish affixed on top, and everything underneath is just there to record the previous holders. This thing has been around since 1892 . There are 3 Stanly Cups: the OG Stanley Cup made in 1892 is positively ancient and fragile, as such it’s kept locked away in a vault. In its stead were made 2 “representations” of the OG Stanley cup: The Presentation Cup - which replaced the original in 1968 and is the one you see everyone holding, and the “ Permanent Cup” - itself a spelling corrected representation of the Presentation Cup housed in the Hockey Hall of Fame when the Presentation Cup is not available. Why would the Presentation Cup not be available? Because it is straight up the only trophy given out for the entire league, and as Hockey tradition dictates it becomes the custody of whichever team wins for 100 days during off-season, at which point they have full custody to pass around the Cup. The Presentation cup has been used as a chip and dip dish, wash pan, and a baptismal bath. It’s also been peed in, stolen, lost on road trips, and had to be drudged out from a lake when the Goalie in charge of it for the day decided to see if it could float (it does not). Yet through sheer grit, no matter the battering, carelessness, and indignities the Cup suffers, each time it finds a way to be returned, buffed, re-waxed, and sanitized.

Run BTS Special Episode Mini Field Day
watching random run BTS episodes and just wanted to say how cute it was that Jungkook's first impulse upon seeing Jimin slide towards him was to drop down and hug him 😭 it was definitely a Jimin Jikook thing because his teammates slid towards him later in the episode and he just dropped and held his hands up with them (although red team did get an adorable team hug later)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they all do this sliding thing throughout the episode, but this was definitely the most adorable iteration imo (although some of the messy team celebrations came in at a close second). Jikook were especially cute and very playful the entire episode and it was funny that they had so many little moments when they were on different teams. I think those moments have been covered to death so I won't go over them but this episode definitely sits close to my heart because it reminded me of why I enjoy their dynamic so much, it's just really adorable and fun with an undercurrent of sweet.
Jimin was like 10000/10 adorable and really cuddly throughout this entire episode though, I forgot how genuinely funny it was too. I think blue teams dynamic was just golden and was surprised by how funny Namjoon in particular was the whole time. Some more Jimin hugs
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jimin hugging Namjoon after Jungkook's brutal and scary accurate penalty revenge kick 😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jimin tackle hugging Hobi after his amazing goalie save which transitioned into a group hug
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hobi serving as the attractive damsel to hero Jimin after his moment of glory in what I feel resembles the classic "leg cling" trope
Tumblr media
Even yoongi couldn't resist handing out a hug to comfort Jimin after his failed kick, because like I said, Jimin was like 1000000/10 irresistibly adorable this episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not a hug, but Namjoon going from "don't do something weird" to "nice do everything you want to do" after Jimin's successful goal took me out 😭 blue team was just absolutely hilarious. Jimin said his goal in picking this team was to be funny so I do think he was being a bit chaotic silly on purpose, but some of those mishaps were pretty genuine like that ball bouncing off his helmet and just the absolute uncoordinated but somehow functional chaos of his team. Something I really appreciate about BTS is just how genuinely funny they can be in such a relaxed way sometimes.
Also Jimin's subplot of trying to score a goal the whole time because he wanted to do the slide thing was soooooo funny. I love how even the staff became extra invested in Jimin's plight (and the blue underdog team overall) and Jin even called them out on cheering louder when Jimin made his goal at the end lmao.
Tumblr media
A lot of these later run episodes were misses for me so I'm glad they ended it on such a high note with so many great moments that showed how endearing and fun their different dynamics are. Also I didn't mention Taehyung or vmin, but I absolutely loved Taehyung laughing so hard at Jimin's antics throughout the entire episode. I love how much and how hard they make each other laugh, it's absolutely something I've always found really endearing about their friendship.

hello party people! the stanley cup playoffs start right now, so in an attempt to tempt y’all to watch, i have compiled a list of playoff moments that altered my brain chemistry (as someone who has watched the playoffs every year since 2010)! even if you don’t want to watch hockey, the sport is pretty ridiculous so here is just a small sample of the extent of the craziness!
washington capitals vs. pittsburgh penguins 2009 (round 2 game 2): hockey’s messi and ronaldo, sidney crosby and alex ovechkin put on a show for the washington crowd as they each score hattys in the same game. the capitals would go on to win the game, but the penguins would win the series (and later the cup), but this game has some of the best highlights as the two best players in hockey at their peaks showed off their skills for sexy, sexy hockey!
chicago blackhawks vs. philadelphia flyers 2010 (round 4 game 6): in overtime of game 6 of the stanley cup finals, a chicago player scored the game winner to win the hawks the cup. the weird part? nobody saw it go in except the player and his teammates. the crowd, flyers, and broadcasters didn’t see it go in. known as the “phantom goal” this goal won the hawks their first cup in almost 50 years.
vancouver canucks vs. chicago blackhawks 2011 (round 1 game 7): this is the game that made me fall in love with hockey. little 7-year-old me was glued to my television screen all night watching this game. the blackhawks and canucks had matched up in the playoffs for three years in a row, and the blackhawks (at the time the reigning cup champions) had beat the canucks every time. this series had gone the full 7 games, with the canucks winning the first 3 and the blackhawks coming from behind to win the next 3. earlier in game 7, hero alex burrows had opened the scoring then missed a penalty shot. with the game tied at 1, just over 5 minutes into overtime, burrows gets the puck and scores, defeating the blackhawks to send the canucks to the next round. they would go on to lose the cup in the final, but this was the golden generation of canucks games and the vibe in vancouver? unmatched. it gave birth to two of the most iconic radio calls: “they slayed the dragon” by john shorthouse, and “its a wonderful day for an exorcism” from jim hughston. this defined my childhood fr
boston bruins vs. toronto maple leafs 2013 (round 1 game 7): mere weeks after the tragedy at the boston marathon, the bruins were down 4-1 with just over 14 minutes to play in the 3rd period. they were down 4-2 with 9 minutes left. with two goals in 30 seconds, with less than 90 seconds remaining, the bruins tied the game and patrice bergeron won the game for the bruins in overtime. the maple leafs, having blown a 3 goal lead, ended their season. as of right now, they have not won a round of the playoffs since 2004.
tampa bay lightning vs. boston bruins 2018 (round 2 game 4): the playoffs can get quite scrappy! in order to get an advantage over his opponent after a little scrum, noted league rat brad marchand licked a man. yes fully licked. previously in the playoffs he had kissed and licked another man, and this caused the league to outlaw licking. the bruins would go on to lose the series, even though marchand continued his ridiculous antics
vegas golden knights vs. vancouver canucks 2020 (round 2 games 5-7): in 2020, the playoffs were played in a bubble at one arena with no spectators. after game 4, that the knights won, it was discovered that the canucks goalie jacob markstrom had an injury. with the knights leading the series 3-1, the canucks needed to win 3 games in a row to move on to the next round. enter thatcher demko, a rookie goalie who had never played a playoff game before. over games 5, 6 and 7, demko made 123 saves, including a 48 save shutout in game 6, to keep the canucks in until game 7. he stood on his head, he was incredible, and he went over 100 minutes without the knights scoring a goal. unfortunately, with a knights shutout in game 7, the canucks wouldn’t move on, but “bubble demko” would live in infamy as thatcher demko’s intro to playoff hockey. hes my favourite goalie
pittsburgh penguins vs. new york rangers 2022 (round 1 game 1): as both teams were ready to fight it out in the playoffs, this game was tied at the end of three periods. in the playoffs, overtime lasts 20 minutes with 15 minute breaks between them. in the 3rd period of overtime, and the 6th period of hockey evgeni malkin scored for the penguins after over 90 minutes of hockey. it was midnight at madison square garden. the rangers goalie, igor shesterkin, made 79 saves in the loss, and the penguins goalie louis domingue, who came on in the second overtime to replace an injured casey desmith, went viral for reports that he ate spicy pork and broccoli between periods to keep up his energy. this is one of the longest games in nhl history, and the rangers would go on to win the series in 7 games.
edmonton oilers vs. calgary flames 2022 (round 2 game 1): the battle of alberta is one of the classic rivalries of the nhl, and the first game of last year’s round 2 delivered. the goalies seemed to be unable to keep the puck out of the net, and flames and oilers fans both watched as the two teams combined for 15 goals, with the flames winning 9-6. the oilers would go on to win the series, but the sloppy, goal-heavy hockey has stuck in my mind ever since last may
these are some of my highlights! i hope you all enjoy the playoffs (because i know i will), and all the beard-growing and towel-twirling that comes along with them. happy stanley cup season everyone!

Tagged a millennia ago by @dijkstraspath and @cataroo sorry this was obliterated from my mind at the time </3
✨ noº1 team?
No number 1 team. I am a fickle creature whose heart is easily swayed by narratives!! My beloved teams, plural, are the Sharks, Kraken, Ducks, Wild, and recently the VGK! We have a soft spot a mile wide for losers and girlfailures. I am easily bamboozled by Antics and Shenanigans. Assume no teams are safe from my love. I always say: I have NO enemies in ice hockey except the refs/situation room <3
🥅 your favourite goalie?
My whole heart belongs to the oppressed goalie tandems on basement tier teams (Gibson/Dostal, Kahkonen/Blackwood, Soderblom/Mrazek)
Fav goalie to watch, who will always have a place in my heart? Joey Daccord! He has anime-protagonist levels of skill and he is a joy to watch in net. Truly creative, proactive, and unique. I see him going very far.
🔟 what would be your jersey number?
17! For the first two serial numbers of the Enterprise NCC-1701
🏒 what team would you love to play for?
PWHL New York, because women+teal <3
❤️‍🔥 who is your favourite player currently?
Thinking endlessly about Brock Faber. Girlies (gn) know I’ve been writing an essay about him for like a month, which has blossomed into something well beyond the scope of what I originally wanted to write.
👀 a trade that hurt you emotionally?
I haven’t been around ice hockey long enough for a trade to hurt me yet, but I’m not unfamiliar with trade heartbreak!
I have been in esports for years, and the first trade that fucked me up was support player ArK getting traded from the New York Excelsior to the Washington Justice. It was 5 years ago, the meta had shifted away from ArK’s best heroes, and the bombshell dropped on twitter. I was devastated. The NYXL core had been together through so much, I thought. They existed pre-Overwatch League, as LW Blue and LW Red. They were a family.
They reunited, briefly, during OWL All-Stars, and every moment of it hurt. ArK retired in 2020 after leading the Washington Justice to the North American Division Playoffs, where they came 3rd.
Many such trades and team implosions happened after ArK, but you never forget your first!
🌈 what is your experience on hockeyblr so far?
Pretty amazing! I wrote a whole love letter to the kraken, sharks tag has some very funny characters who are very unserious about everything but very lovingly devoted to our losers, I’m too shy to talk in the wild tag too often but I hope this changes, the ducks tag is a wasteland populated by me and maybe 2 other people and we never seem to be blogging at the same time, and the one (1) person currently active in the vegas tag is quite possibly the sweetest person alive (!!!) they’ve been so excited to tell me about them, to welcome me and share their love!!!
The PWHL holds a very very dear place in my heart, I feel very tender and protective about it so I’m pretty quiet — but when I do venture into the tag it’s been a fun time!!!
I am putting out tentative feelers for the AIHL and the handful of people who’ve chimed in to show their support has been incredibly heartening and I look forward to writing propaganda for them when the time comes!!! <3
tag people you'd like to know these about ☺️🏒🖤
its. way way way way too late to be doing this but i guess im reviving the meme! absolutely feel no pressure to participate: @wehaveagathering @puckinggoalies @skybluerin @ppepohappy @belowthedepths if you'd like to participate consider yourself tagged by me!

Reese's Gang
This is a pretty unorganized post, but I wanted to get this out there because I'm in a share my Backyard Sports world mood. XD. Let me know if you want more!
Core members:
-Reese Worthington (leader)
Reese's positions: 3rd base (Baseball), Central Midfielder (Soccer), Wide Receiver (Football), Forward (Basketball), Center (Hockey)
-Felix Grant (NPC generic)
Felix's positions: Shortstop (Baseball), Forward (Soccer), Wide Receiver (Football), Forward (Basketball), Left Wing (Hockey)
-Ace Patterson (Rookie Rush).
Ace's positions: Pitcher/2ndbase/Left Field (Baseball), Midfielder (Soccer), Quarterback (Football), Center (Basketball), Right Wing (Hockey).
-Jett Hawke (my OC)
Jett's positions: Catcher (Baseball), Defender (Soccer), Linebacker (Football), Defender (Basketball), Defender (Hockey).
Marky DuBois is consistently teamed up with them, and is often seen as the "Token Good Teammate", as he doesn't involve himself with their antics, which is why he's not really referred to as being in the gang. It's not uncommon to see him hanging around them off the field as well.
Marky's positions: 2nd base or relief pitcher (Baseball), Defender (Soccer), Tight end (Football), Defender (Basketball), Defender (Hockey).
Origin: The group started after Reese was teamed up with them randomly, then was made captain after being pledged by the other three. Reese used to be picked last or near last in recruiting teams. While at first he didn't mind as he would rather read comics or play video games and eating potato chips, he would often be benched or picked last too many times and overhear ("well we got to pick him right?") that he sought to get back at everybody, so teams up with three of the town's top athletes.
Team(s):
Rockets - Baseball, Football, Soccer
Trash-Talkers - Basketball
Walruses - Hockey
Colors: Green (primary), Black (secondary).
Home field:
Sandy Flats (Baseball, Football, Soccer, Basketball)
Ice Castle Arcade (Hockey)
I headcanon that Ice Castle Arcade is located at Sandy Flats and that Shark Belly Shores (that includes the boardwalk) is another part of town on the coast. (Like uptown/downtown).
Rivals: Melonheads (Captained by Pablo), Hornets/Hammers/Llamas (Captained by Kiesha--teamed with Stephanie Morgan, Jocinda Smith, and Vicki Kawaguchi), All-Stars/Rim-Rattlers/Slushballs (Captained by Tony), Hot-Doggers/Polar Bears (basketball/hockey - captained by Dante Robinson).
In addition Reese has a personal rivalry with Stephanie, who is on Kiesha's team. The two used to argue who was better as a hockey goalie. One season the two teamed up and Stephanie won the goalie bid. After Stephanie returned to her usual team, Reese picked Kenny Kawaguchi to be their goalie via a 3 way trade with the Llamas and Polar Bears. The Walruses initially picked up Kimmy Eckman from the Llamas so Stephanie can go to the Walruses, but due to Reese and Kimmy not liking each other and Kimmy and Dante's eating habits, they agreed to an immediate trade where Kenny went to Reese's team and Kimmy went to Dante's.
They are most favorited in Football and Hockey, however, they are competitive in every sport. If they make the playoffs in basketball or baseball, they are usually a low seed.
The league has a social app, BackSports, that allows the Backyard Kids to communicate and Reese's gang loves to use it to trash talk and be annoying, usually at the expense of the teams their facing/have beaten, examples:
"Maca-DON'T" (on Joey Macadoo), "Time to beat those spoiled fruit" (on the Melonheads). "If only Achmed was as good as dribbling as half as good as he is at drumming" (on Achmed).
After a defeat, however, their accounts are usually quiet while everyone else has fun at their expense for their loss after showboating before the game.
They like to trash talk on the field as well. Mr. Clanky has given them numerous unsportsmanlike penalties, which they often voice frustration over being unfairly targeted. They can also be seen talking big in the school cafeteria, seeking out the tables of the other captains and comment how they look forward to beating them.
One of their most infamous off-field antics involved going into Pablo's backyard and dressing his dog in a Rockets jersey.
They do agree to keep their crushes off limits from their antics. Jett has a crush on Sidney so they don't bother her or her twin sister Ashley (since doing so would make Sidney mad). Felix Grant has a crush on Betty Houston so they don't go after her either. Finally, as a favor to Marky, they don't annoy BillieJean Blackwood either.
During a hockey game against the Melonheads, Pablo skated over to Jett and bumped into him, and Jett reacted in a way that won't win him any Oscars, but they took advantage of Clanky's crapshoot AI, and the penalty was called on Pablo. The Walruses scored on the ensuing powerplay and won the game. Dmitri then made modifications to Clanky to detect deception, and Reese's gang hated Dmitri ever since. As payback, the Walruses would go on to eliminate Dmitri's team (Igloos) in the playoffs. Reese, skating by Dmitri comments in the postgame handshakes, "Too bad you didn't rig Clanky to win you games".
Speaking of off the field, when not playing the gang can usually be seen hanging out at Ice Castle Arcade.
Biggest Accomplishment: Defeated Jimmy Knuckles' Monsters in the Gridiron Grits Cereal Bowl. The one time the neighborhood cheered for Reese's team as the lesser of two evils. What helps is they had other players like Marky, Sidney (cornerback), Mikey Thomas (defensive line/center), and Angela Delvecchio (kicker) to balance them out.
Most Embarrassing Loss: In one season of Backyard Baseball, the Rockets needed to win just one of their last remaining games to go to the playoffs. In the first game, they lose to the league leading Melonheads, but no threat because their final game of the season is against the winless Socks team, captained by Ronny Dobbs. In a series of errors: Ace threw a wild pitch past the catcher, Jett, to score a run, and another run came from a popup that the four couldn't communicate on and they all collide into each other. Reese was the final out of the game, grounding out but in a desperate attempt to get to first, dives and just lands face first into the dirt. Parents of the Socks players wore clown costumes to have their team's winless season have a lighthearted end, but at the end of the game, Jett reflects: "There were so many clowns. And yet, we were the biggest ones." Their loss allowed the Hornets to clinch the final playoff spot. Their BackSports accounts were quiet for days.
Most dramatic win: In the Clanky Cup Finals, the game went to overtime. Jett dumps the pass into the Llamas end that bounces off the boards and right to Reese who dekes around Stephanie to shoot the puck into the net to win the Clanky Cup.
The team they lose to the most is Pablo Sanchez and the Melonheads. They defeat Joey's team, the Knights the most and don't really see him as a threat and go after him the most with their antics since he responds the way they want more so than anyone. The team with the most balanced rivalry is with Kiesha's teams as they both have shared big wins and heartbreaking losses to each other.
As for the commentators, Vinnie the Gooch and Buddy Cheque are their biggest supporters, enjoying their embrace to playing heel. Sunny Day, while usually calling neutral lets her enthusiasm show when a more respected captain like Pablo or Kiesha defeat them, but at the same time, doesn't shy away from complimenting them when they win, usually highlighting the play of one of their kinder players.
Best and Worst Result per sport:
Baseball:
Best: Game 7 extra-innings defeat in the semi-finals vs. Melonheads on a Pablo walkoff.
Worst: Missed the playoffs.
Soccer:
Best: Won the BSL Championship
Worst: Qualifying Rounds defeat.
Football:
Best: Won the Cereal Bowl (2x)
Worst: Lost in Conference Finals to the Hornets at home after a record breaking season on offense and defense.
Basketball:
Best: Game 5 loss in the semi-finals to the Melonheads after being up 2 games to 1 before losing games 4 and 5.
Worst: Missed the playoffs.
Hockey:
Best: Won the Clanky Cup (3x)
Worst: Qualifying Round defeat.
Hope you all enjoyed reading! Let me know if you want more!
