Lord Hermes Deep dive

Lord hermes is amazing, he is the darling of the gods and of our hearts, he is strong in gymnastics and in spirit, he is the last thing we see, and the lord of our words, and as a devotee and as a reasercher I believe he is amazing and wonderful, I absolutely adore him, so I should probably stop writing, or it'll become a love letter, but I've worshiped this god for around 2 years, maybe more, but I know well he is amazing and deserves respect.

Lord Hermes is the darling of the gods, and very important in everyday life, whether we know it or not, handsome in charm and looks, he is also knowledgeable about many things.

how kubo really designed them to be complementary

in the manga, rangiku’s hair is golden while gin’s hair is silver. even when they changed their hair color to strawberry blonde in the anime, they also changed her eyes from blue to silver-grey

even when gin defects, you have his white arrancar outfit with the aqua-blue sash, which complements rangiku’s black shihakusho and blush-pink scarf. it’s quite striking in the colored manga.  

the snake and virgin motif between the two of them, and even hades and persephone, I mean the both of them are also virgos (seriously the fact that they have the same birthday, and they count it on the day they met, they’re such soulmates)

the association of autumn and winter with the both of them (their favorite foods are dried persimmons, and rangiku most often remembers gin with snow)

you wouldn’t normally think that they have thematic links with their zanpakuto unlike say hitsugaya and hinamori with their ice and fire elements, but the fact that gin is also associated with foxes, and haineko’s hilt looks a bit like a fox is very cute to me (EDIT: Apparently, they do have a connection with their zanpakuto! Upon the reread, it seems that Shinsou’s bankai isn’t about how long or fast it contracts, rather it turns to dust for an instant, the moment it expands and contracts. Dust and Ash, wow. I don’t know if Kubo really planned all these out, but idc, I still love these bits and pieces.)

hitsugaya and hinamori are pretty obvious - smol to her tol, cold white snow to her earthy brown, ice and fire

despite hitsugaya’s element, I often associate them with spring and summer, especially since summer is when hinamori would visit home and they’d eat watermelon together

although both hitsugaya and rukia have ice as their element, their thematic connections with their respective childhood friends differ enough.

this is best reflected in hitsugaya’s and renji’s duet about their childhood friends. renji associates himself with dirt and being a stray, while he associates rukia with purity and the cleanness of snow. he’s a howling dog who longs for the moon, and one of rukia’s most famous attacks is tsukishiro or white moon. red and white are their colors.

hitsugaya meanwhile personifies the coldness of ice, while he considers hinamori’s smile and laughter to have been a “spring breeze” which warmed him

color-names and flower-names: there’s also slight symmetry as to their names. both gin’s and hitsugaya’s (or nick)names can refer to their hair colors (silver, white) while rangiku and momo’s names refer to flowers. rangiku or chrysanthemums are supposed to represent truth, and well we all know what gin is like. meanwhile, peach blossoms are spring flowers, while toshiro has the character for ‘winter’ in his first name. plum blossoms (or the ‘ume’ in tobiume), meanwhile, also bloom in late winter and early spring

Part of my 500 Follower Celebration (prompt: hugging while slow dancing)

The leaves crunched under your boots as you made your way towards the market center; everywhere around you were signs of the impending change of seasons. The cool, crisp autumn air was refreshing on your skin after a long, hot summer. The scent of hot apple cider wafted by as your eyes flickered about, searching the crowds for a familiar flower cart.

A smile spread on your lips as your eye caught his snow-white hair, appearing almost silver in the sunlight; his ethereal beauty shining bright like a star in the sky. The man before you, known to you simply as Vlad, held a single rose, its bloom masking part of his face, its petals the same shades of reds, oranges, and yellows as the leaves changing in the trees around you.

"For you." His voice was soft and gentle as he presented you with the harvest bloom; not a visit had gone by since you first met not that long ago where you were not gifted flowers by Vlad.

Vlad took your hand, guiding you to his flower cart, eager to share with you the different flowers he had for fall. Admiring the bunches of chrysanthemums and asters, all in an array of golden hues, your ears perked up when you heard music fill the air.

Turning to Vlad, he held a hand out to you. "Care to dance?" he asked.

Normally, you would be too shy to dance in the middle of the square, with so many people around. But with Vlad, all of those inhibitions were washed away. In his arms, you felt you could do almost anything at all.

Slipping your hand in his, he led you in a slow dance. Your bodies close to one another, your gaze focused only on his crimson eyes, you felt as if you were floating on air. His hand firm on your waist, Vlad guided your steps as he circled you around his cart.

Once the music stopped, he shifted his hands, his arms circling your body as he pulled you into a tight embrace.

"Thank you," he whispered, placing a gentle kiss on the top of your head. Pressing your body close to his, you remained in the embrace for a minute or an hour - you weren't sure, as time felt as if it had stopped momentarily.

Afterwards

Above two figures roaming a field of flowers, poppies, chrysanthemums, marigolds, asphodels, and white spider lilies is a shimmering royal blue and purple sky full of silver stars and lavender clouds dusted with golden halo-like light swirled like the smoke of a blown out candle.

One figure wore a flowing white robe and a crown of marigolds spoke up through the ambient sound of wind and rustling flower petals, “Where are we going?”

“Where do you want to go?” The taller figure asked, donned in a flowing black robe with a wide brimmed hat and veil, held a lantern hung from a tall gnarled wooden staff.

“I always hoped that when the time came… there would be nothing and I would be gone.”

“Do you find that more peaceful than anything else?”

“Well… I think I would prefer eternal void and nonexistence to say… Christian hell.”

“Fortunately there is no Christian hell, however I know without a doubt that eternal void is awfully boring.”

“Then what is it?”

“It is many different things, but you shall see it soon.”

The shorter figure quieted, looking around the scenery again. It was gorgeous and mystical with shooting stars casting bright multicolored trails through the sky. They followed Death, stepping carefully on the same trail they left and watching as the flowers they crushed slowly rose again with a persistent vitality. Mountains rose in the distance with lakes pooling at their feet.

At the center of one lake stands a shack on pillars of wood and mud with a dock and ravens flying to and from an open circular window in the top. Plants are potted below the windows and a small black cat walks across the water with grace, jumping onto the dock. As the two figures got closer to the lake, a woman came out of the door. She was short and wore a dark mulberry purple dress with golden star patterns and a wide brimmed pointed hat and veil upon which hung small golden charms. When the cat came to her, she picked it up, stroking its iridescent fur and looked up at the passing figures. Her smile shone through the veil, warm and welcoming as the figures walked past.

An old asymmetrical tower of stone stood less than stably upon a small floating island with a rope ladder hanging off it. Death walked below the ladder and held their hand out to the shorter figure who took it. Both of them floated gently up to the tower, with death opening the old door. Rusty hinges squeaked and the shorter figure let go of Death’s hand to touch the cool gray stone and mortar that held the tower together.

“Welcome home.” Death tapped their lantern against the door, a key manifesting from a golden mist and falling into the shorter figure’s hand.

“What do I do now?”

“Keep that little key safe and get comfortable.”

“That’s it?”

“Yes. You will reside here in the valley. You may alter the tower in any way you see fit. This island is your domain. If you get lonely, the old woman with the cat is good company. She can show you the ropes.”

“I don’t have a job or any punishment or anything to do?”

“All you do is exist. Make this tower your home and enjoy your afterlife. You need not eat or sleep but you can. Your neighbors are friendly and the land provides all you need.”

The figure in white admired the tower. It was by no means perfect and would need work but it felt nostalgic. It was like a dream of childhood whimsy and fantastic stories of fairytales. “Thank you, for everything.”

“Farewell. Should you need me, send a raven.”

“Farewell,” the figure in white smiled to themself, stepping into their new home. They watched Death dissipate into golden mist, carried away by the wind, and waved goodbye. So this was what came afterwards.

Tony's fingertips gently brushed her bare shoulders; his eyes flashed golden, and the red fabric of her yukata seemed to shimmer and dance as it changed. New sleeves grew following the Faelian's hands as they moved down her arms until they reached the proper lengths. The lovely red fabric was a shade or two deeper now and sported a pattern of silver chrysanthemums.

Ziz watched them both with a warm smile when her eyes suddenly widened, "He's like you and Yurei!"

"Oh..." Ginko breathed a little in surprise admiring his handiwork, heart jumping a little a the brush of his fingers she was a little awed of the beauty he'd made of nothing. The silver vixen gave a little laugh "If this is the result I may tear my clothes around you more often."

Seishin had to hold back a snort of laughter at Ginko's words before looking at Ziz curiously "who is?"

Gold and Silver Chrysanthemum is just coming into flower and the ants are having fun farming the afids (Ajania pacifica Chrysanthemum pacificum) native to Japan and is endemic to the island of Honshū. Its natural habitat is along the Pacific coast on ocean cliffs. It looks quite good when it’s just green and silver foliage but in autumn the plant is covered in golden yellow button-like flowers, which are really pretty. Happy in direct sun or even fair amounts of shade, they will usually be better in more light than less. I’ve been growing this in the same spot for about 20 years but the protea (Leucospermum fulgens) has started to shade it out so it may need a new spot. Propagate by division or cutting. help im trying to make tattoos for each jury member based on their name (katelyn fire fist=flames on her wrist, jeffery golden heart=golden heart on his chest) and i cANT THINK OF ANY FOR JANUS

my first thought tbh is like a skull bc ‘death’ yknow? maybe the skull has something specific like a dagger stabbed through it-

i wld say scythe bc it’s also death but isnt there already a scythe in the jurors?

if u wna go a bit “ironic” maybe a black rose or a chrysanthemum apparently they also mean death. idk a flower meaning death on someone who’s nickname is literally “monster” wld be pretty ironic

hmmm- maybe a raven with jewelry? ravens are usually omens for death and silver’s shiny and they like shiny things?

Time, Space, and Sweets: Chapter 3

Silver the Hedgehog and Blaze the Cat meet up with their friend Amy Rose, her sister, and her mom.

Note: In this fic, everyone's a year older (Silver and Blaze are 15, Amy's 13, etc)

Hedges and Roses (Flower shop), mid afternoon:

Amy led her friends, Blaze and Silver, to the back of the store. The two hedgehogs had wide-eyed grins on their faces, while Blaze just smiled a bit.

A woman's voice sighed. "Amaryllis, I've told you before, customers aren't allowed in–" She paused before she saw the two older teenagers. "Oh, you two must be Silver and Blaze!"

The woman stepped out of the shadows and revealed herself. She was an older, kind of fat, pink hedgehog, a bit darker than Amy. Her eyes were blue and her long quills were pulled back in a ponytail. She wore a light green dress with a rose-print pattern, ruby red glasses, and a bracelet that emulated a daisy chain.

"My name is Chrysanthemum Rose, but you can call me Chrys." She introduced herself.

"Huh. So Amy is short for Amaryllis?" Blaze asked.

"Yep. It's a Rose family tradition to name yourself or your children after a plant." Amy explained. "Anyways, here's how we make the bouquets."

Amy washed her hands to get the ice cream off of them, then got a bunch of flowers out to work.

"I can help if you need me to." Silver said.

"Thank you, but we have it handled." Chrys told him.

"So what are you two doing here and now?" Amy asked as she got a silver vase.

"Silver invited me to help bake a cake for Shadow. He helped Silver move into an apartment in this time period so the cake is a symbol of gratitude." Blaze explained.

"After you're done with the bouquets, would you like to help us?" Silver asked.

"I'd love to, but I still have work to do..." Amy sighed as she arranged the irises and acanthus.

"Go have fun with your friends. Lily and I can handle it." Chrys told her daughter as she meticulously put a tulip in a light purple vase.

"You mean it?" Amy asked, putting a little bunch of baby's breath in the silver vase.

"We'll be fine." An unfamiliar voice said. Silver and Blaze looked and saw a light pink hedgehog that was around 15. She had short, black dyed quills that stuck up and the same golden eyes that the other 15-year-olds had. She wore black lipstick, black eyeshadow, a black leather jacket with patches shaped like roses, a gray tee with lilies and skulls, a dark red skirt, and black leather boots. Her ears were pierced and she had rose shaped earrings.

"I'm Lily. Amy's older sister." The goth looking hedgehog spoke.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Blaze, and this is Silver." Blaze shook Lily's hand. "You look cool."

"Thanks. I got heavily inspired by how Shadow looks. He's my idol!" She sighed as she put her hands to her chin and smiled.

"What a coincidence. We're seeing him tomorrow." Silver told the girl.

"You are? Ohmygosh! I'm so jealous! You need to tell me all about your meeting with him!" Lily squealed.

"Hehe, she's a bit of a hopeless romantic..." Amy chuckled.

"Says the one who keeps going after Sonic even though he's shown he's not interested." Lily teased.

"Hey! It's been over a year since I've chased after him!" Amy remarked, blushing angrily. Lily laughed and gave her younger sister a smirk.

"It runs in the family, but it makes sense, since roses are the flower of romance." Chrys said playfully. "By the way, Miss Blaze, I'm done with your bouquet."

"Oh! I'm done with yours, too, Silver!" Amy told the boy.

"Thank you so much! Wow, it's so beautiful!" Silver looked in awe at the flower arrangement.

The three friends began their walk back to Silver's apartment, and decided to get some bubble tea on the way.
