The city has been divided in two for as long as anybody can remember. Gang violence ransacking Seattle for decades, not a day would go by without the sounds of sirens or gunshots. That's until two men stepped up to gain some control, Jerry Anderson and Joel Miller.
Sure, the men were at each others throats from the very first day. Both believed they knew what was right to control the gang scene and in the end, agreed to split the city in two. Each having their own personal agenda for their enterprise.
The tipping point was the death of Jerry Anderson, leading his daughter Abby to take his place.
After Jerry died via single gunshot to the forehead, war between their respective families began to escalate, Abby speculating it was the doing of the Millers. She wasn't wrong, taking a golf club to Joel's skull which promoted his daughter Ellie to take his place.
What's the saying? An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind?
Ellie shuts her office door behind her, letting out a heavy breath with a rub to her aching shoulders. She needed a massage, or maybe to get her back blown out a round or two. It's been a long ass week to say the least.
She pulls out a cigarette and lighter from her pocket, circling around to her desk. A commotion occurring on the other side of Ellie's door causing a crease to form between her brows. Soon enough the door is flinging open and Abigail Anderson in her suited glory pushes through, blood on her jacket and murder in her eyes. "Williams!" She shouts, less than happy to see the auburn haired girl.
"Ms. Anderson. What a... surprise" Ellies voice sounds far from surprised, almost disappointed as she snuffs out her cigarette while leaning back in her chair, legs manspread with her arms pulled back into a cross. Suit jacket open with the top buttons of her dress shirt undone, Ellie looks a wreck with that shit eating grin plastered on her face.
Abby's palms press into the grain of Ellie's desk, death stare into her soul. "The fucking audacity of you. A drive by! A fucking DRIVE BY?" A soft chuckle leaves the brutes throat, reminding Ellie that Abby is just a girl despite the tough exterior. "I mean come on, you didn't even have the balls to do it yourself?"
Ellie raises from her spot, disliking the fact Abby loomed over her. Her glare through thin lashes still small under the blondes height. "Didn't see the need. Unlike you, I actually try to cover up my kills" But that's untrue, Ellie knew she wouldn't be able to pull the trigger on Abby if it came to it.
Abby raises an eyebrow, disbelieving her answer but surprised regardless. "But where's the fun in that gorgeous? Seeing the life drain out of their eyes..." She trails off, clicking her tongue.
"So why'd you come here? Rub it in my face you survived? Have my shooters head in a box for me or something? Kill me? What's your angle Anderson?" Ellie leans in slightly, her head cocking to the side as she takes in Abby's massive figure.
Abby again lets out one of those pretty chuckles with a shake of her head, "So little faith. I just came to get you to tell me why the fuck you think you can kill me? Do you want my guys to come after yours? That would start a full blown war." The way Abby scolds Ellie sends a rush between her legs, pressing them together behind the desk while keeping up the act.
"A war started the moment you bashed in my father's head" Ellie presses her palms into the desk harder, hearing the wood creak under the pressure of her ange and horniness.
Abby leans in slightly with an innocent little grin, "So that's what it's about? You miss your daddy, do you now?" The way her lips pout with fake sympathy is so demeaning, making Ellie feel like a child. It's a turn on that she didn't know she had.
"Fuck. You" Ellie speaks through her teeth, "Is that all or is there something else you came here for?"
Abby smirks, eyes glossing up and down with a smirk before taking an inhale of air. "Normally when someone turns on me, I'd just take them out back and shoot them" She takes out her revolver, inspecting it in her palm before gently resting it on the desk, "But you're not just anyone, are you now?"
"What's your game here Anderson? If you're gonna shoot me, do it" The auburn haired woman barks as she sulks back in her skin, arms crossing with a hesitant look. While attempting to remain strong, it's getting harder to deny that pull.
Abby shakes her head a negative, "Such an attitude" Soon enough Abby's strong hands are gripping the sides of Ellie's cheeks, pressing them together and pulling the girl inches away from her face. "Almost like you're begging for me to fuck it out of you"
The breath from Ellie's lungs is almost vacuumed up in the whirlwind of emotions. The second heartbeat between her legs grows stronger and it has the strong woman melting in Abby's hands, "Tell me you want me" She whispers softly into Ellie's ears.
"Shut the fuck up and kiss me alrea-" As Ellie snaps back at Abby, their lips smash together in what's probably years of pent up sexual frustrations with one another. The forbidden fruits of having one another. Adam eating the apple that's now evident in every man's throat you glance, a reminder of shame.
"Clothes. Off. Now" Abby grits between kisses, nodding her head to the leather couch in Ellie's office. Quickly, she starts to take off her suit jacket, button up, and pants, watching as Abby undresses her top half too. "All of it" She adds when Ellie stopped at just her underwear.
Laying back on the couch, Ellies body is masked by Abby's. The blonde leaning over Ellie with their lips meeting once more. Their kiss is rushed, tangled in each others limbs, breath fanning face. It's a mess of a spectacle straight out of every disgusting straight man's dream porno.
For once Ellie doesn't have to hold a high standard of control. For once she's able to just lay back and let someone take the wheel. She feels small, buck ass naked underneath Abby, in her bra and slacks. "Abby-" Ellie grits between her teeth as the blonde sucks purple bruises into the pale flesh of her neck. Abby's hands not going where she needs them most, staying on her waist, hips and boobs but never traveling below the belt. It's tortue, a worse pain than being shot.
"Yes gorgeous girl?" Abby smirks against her skin while her hands trace up and down Ellie's side. "What is it?" Her kindness is simply a smoke screen as she pinches Ellie's neglected and sensitive nipple, causing her to whine while arching into Abby's huge hands.
There's a pathetic look on Ellie's brow. The way she's so desperate and on the verge of tears behind the stare that would have Abby dead if looks could kill. "I swear to fucking god- oh" A moan cuts Ellie's bitching off as soon as Abby's lips wrap around her breast. "Shit- just like that"
That cocky look on Abby's face would normally be enough for Ellie to walk away. If only the way that the blonde made her crumble in a way nobody had was enough to keep Ellie in her place, back arching into Abby's skilled pleasure.
Soon enough Abby's large finger pushes its way into Ellie, the stretch enough to almost fill her with a single digit. Melodic moans fill the room as Abby takes her time, curling her finger and simply applying pressure to that particular spot every lesbian knows of. Pressure builds in Ellies core, a sort of tension building up on the verge of snapping as Abby continues to suck her tits.
"Keep-" Abby's sharp voice barks at Ellies uncooperative hips, pushing her down so her body is flush to the couch, "Keep still- stop your fucking squirming or I'll leave. You understand?" Ellie nods quick, her neck bobbing up and down but that's not enough for her, "Fucking say it!"
The feeling of Ellie's orgasm fades into the abyss, causing a sob to leave from deep in her throat. "I understand- FUCK!" Tears physically soak her cheeks at this point, she yelps with the feeling of Abby's finger leaving her pussy, watching her side down.
Abby sucks a bruise into her thigh, with a slap to the red mark, causing Ellie to squirm. "Good girl. That's a good fucking girl" Abby's praise makes the torture almost worse, what's actually worst is the slow kisses around where Ellie wants her the most. It's ticklish but also so fucking hot.
That's when, finally like a gift from a higher being, Abby's lips find her clit and start to suck hard, almost biting her bud. Ellie screams and tries to wiggle away but the flex in Abby's shoulders and arms keep her there. The blonde doesn't even take time to say anything, eyes shut as she takes her time eating Ellie like she's  her last meal on earth. At this rate, Ellie might shoot her if she doesn't cum so it very well may be.
The pressure builds and builds and builds till Ellie is breathless and unable to say a word. She can't even communicate herself, the whines and heavy breaths stop all words from forming. It's enough to boost Abby's ego for the rest of their lives. Ellie's nimble fingers tap the Abby's bicep, starting to squeeze as her legs clamp and shake like mad.
That orgasm flushes over Ellie like a truck, like nothing ever felt before. Abby takes a minute to finish what she started before pulling back to breathe, "You did so well, such a good slut" Abby sits down at ellie's feet, pulling the shaking girls legs into her lap to give a few tight squeezes in a massage.
Ellie takes her time to catch her breath with a stupid grin plastered on her cheeks. No thoughts till Abby speaks up again,
"So... about the drive by... was that your way of a booty call?"

As long as you could remember, you hated Rafe Cameron. From the very beginning, you hated him - ever since you'd move in next to the Cameron's, you and Rafe had been at each other's throats. It was something that had become a norm for the Cameron's and the L/N's.
You and Rafe are too similar. You guys are both hotheaded, blunt and kind of reckless. You guys are too similar to around each other, it was like forcing two negatives together; it would cause them to want to explode on one another.
As you got older, the more mature you got. And naturally, you wanted this stupid rivalry between you two to end. But if there was anything you knew about Rafe, it was that he was not mature.
So now he loved pressing your buttons, going over the line and getting on your nerves. He loved it, it was his favorite part of the day; seeing you all flustered and bothered when he made a snide remark that you didn't have a response to. It was his goal, to see you all embarrassed and annoyed.
Rafe knew you surprisingly, very well. You'd been best friends with Sarah since you had moved in next door and he'd heard all your secrets when you and Sarah would have sleepovers. He made it a point to learn all your weak points and secrets, not use them against you... Well, maybe sometimes, but just for fun. Again, it was a fun hobby for the bored Cameron sibling.
Everyone who knew Rafe or you knew you two had despised each other. That was just a fact of the island, everyone knew it.
You walked into the Cameron's house on a mission; find the heels that Sarah had stole from you so you could prove to yourself (and Sarah) that you weren't crazy. Those heels didn't just grow legs and walk, did they? You didn't have a little sister and the only person who consistently borrows and never returns your clothes is Sarah.
You knew Sarah would be at John B's today so this was the perfect time. You walked upstairs and barged into Sarah's room, walking to her closet and looking through her shoes.
To most people, that was considered "crossing a boundary," but you and Sarah were basically sisters at that point so looking through her clothes to find an item you were missing wasn't out of the ordinary. You wouldn't do that if she would just put the damned items back.
And plus you needed those heels asap, tonight was Midsummers. It was the event of the summer and you loved dressing up in cute dresses and nice heels; you'd been planning the outfit for months. You made the outfit surrounding the heels: without the heels, your outfit would be nothing. You already bought a matching dress and a Tiffany necklace, now all you needed were the heels.
Sarah swore she didn't have them, but who else would take them?
You were looking through her shirts and you found the Reputation shirt you were looking for two months ago, who she also swore she didn't have. You scoffed, "Bitch."
The more you looked, the more frustrated you were because you could not find the heels anywhere. You heard a knock at the door and sighed, "Come in."
Rafe walked in and his face contorted into a disgusted one. "Ew, you're not Sarah."
"Shut up, Rafe. God, do you have anything better to do? Shouldn't you be golfing with thing 1 and thing 2 right now?" You groaned and he couldn't help but laugh at your nicknames for Top and Kelce.
"Shouldn't you be making out with your gross Pogue boyfriend?" He countered, making you roll your eyes again.
"JJ's not my boyfriend."
He sighed, "Good, I was hoping you wouldn't go as low as dating a Pogue. Anyway, what are you doing in Sarah's room?"
You furrowed your brows at his words before sighing. "I can't find the pair of heels I was going to wear at Midsummers and I think I might just end it all."
"You should, it'd be great for the world." Rafe smirked and you put your head in your arms, groaning in frustration. You didn't need Rafe's snarkiness right now, you just wanted to find those heels.
"Wait." He paused. "Are they uh, pink and glittery?"
You turned your head up, looking at Rafe with a suspicious glint in your eye. "Yeah..."
"Oh, shit." He walked away and then returned a few seconds later with your heels in his hands. You got up and ran to him, grabbing them from his hands.
"Why would take them! What the hell, Rafe? Are you crazy?"
He sighed and rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Lower your fucking voice, jesus. You're so loud. I didn't take them, okay? They just ended up in my room and I thought one of the girls I had over left them, okay?"
You scoffed in disgust. "You're gross."
"Don't act like you haven't had a boy over, Y/N. I know you have, you make it so obvious with your hickies and shit." Rafe spoke, sighing with an ounce of jealousy in voice. You almost thought you misheard it.
You felt your face heat up at mention of hickies. "They're not hickies they're rashes, okay? My neck is sensitive."
He laughed, "Alright sure. Sensitive neck, my ass."
You rolled your eyes for what seemed like the millionth time that day as you walked through the door of Sarah's bedroom, making it a goal to make sure to hit Rafe's shoulder on the way out.
"So immature," you mumbled.
Rafe smiled as he watched you walk away, his goal accomplished. Leave you flustered and annoyed, check. He walked back to his room with a wide grin.
As you walked back your house, heels in hand, you kept picturing Rafe's annoying smirk. It kept replaying in your mind and you feel yourself burning up at the thought of the older brother.
You wanted to slap yourself, were you crazy? Why were you acting like that over Rafe? You hated him more than anyone else in the world, he made your life unnecessarily annoying. So why does your heart skip a beat when you see his annoyingly perfect smile?
This has been happening for the last couple months and you feel yourself becoming more and more vulnerable with every remark he makes: you can never counter them, your mind going blank. You felt stupid and weak, you couldn't just let Rafe win this decade long fight. You weren't going to let him.
--
You and Sarah were at your house, getting ready for Midsummers. This was your favorite event of the year - in all honesty, you loved how classy it made you feel. The dances, the champagne, everyone else looking on the inside, jealous. It was a secret pleasure you happily took part in; I mean, what's the point of being a Kook if you can't flex it?
"See, I told you I didn't take it." Sarah mumbled annoyed as she did her eyeshadow.
You scoffed, "then how'd it end up in Rafe's room?"
She looked back at you with a smirk, "I don't know, you tell me."
The same burning sensation had came onto your face as you shook your head in annoyance, turning back to curling your hair. "God, you're gross for even... even suggesting that."
"Suggesting what, Y/N? You're the one with the dirty mind, I never said anything."
"God, shut up! My parents could hear us, y'know?"
Sarah laughed at your displeasure. "Are you excited to meet up with Nick?"
You smiled. Nick was your longtime crush; you've liked him since seventh grade and you just had the nerve to ask him out now. He was the hottest guy in OBX: he was a football player, he was smart, had pretty eyes you could stare into for hours long and soft curly hair. He was your dream guy and he agreed to be your date to Midsummers.
"Yes, I am. I hope he thinks I'm pretty-"
Sarah scoffed at you. "Of course he will, you are pretty. Don't even say that, who cares what he thinks?"
"I kind of do, I mean I've liked him for so long, I don't know what I'd do if he didn't like me back." You confided in Sarah. She looked back you, sympathetically.
"Well, I mean... He agreed to be your date for Midsummers, that's a good start."
You nodded in response. "Yeah! It is."
You both finished with your hair and makeup, now all you had to do was get dressed. You had bought this pink dress to match with your heels and your hair was curled and in an half up half down hairstyle. You also had bought a new Tiffany necklace to tie the whole look together.
Sarah wore her white dress and cute headpiece. You looked in the mirror and you were genuinely proud of yourself for making this outfit come true.
"Wow, that dress is stunning on you." Sarah was breathless; you look beyond beautiful; you looked flawless. You smiled at her.
"Thank you, Sarah. You too. I love that dress on you, it's perfect."
You and Sarah eventually got the texts from your ride, your crush and date, Nick. He was outside waiting for you guys. You tried not to squeal with excitement as you walked down the stairs, your dress perfectly flowing. You already felt like the night was going to be the most magical and a night to remember.
His Benz was waiting outside for you and Sarah and she smirked at you. "You excited?"
"Yes, I can't wait to dance with him." You whispered to her as she opened the door for you. His friend was already in the front seat so you and Sarah were in the back.
"Ladies first."
You giggled at Sarah's words as you went in, taking a seat. Sarah came in right after you. The smell of strong cologne immediately hit you, with a faint smell of weed. You scrunched your nose as you held your breathe; surprisingly, those two smells weren't the best mixture of smells.
"Wow, I like your dress, Y/N." His friend commented and you waited for Nick's reply. He was on his phone, taking a snap before he realized that he needed to answer. He turned to you with a big smile.
"Uh, yeah. It's gorgeous." He started the car and you lent back in your seat, content with his answer. Sarah glared at him before looking back at you. You ignored her disapproval. He then took his friend's vape pen and took another hit.
The ride there wasn't as magical as you thought it would be. You and Sarah were the only ones talking as the country music on the radio in the background making it somewhat even more awkward. Luke Combs wasn't exactly the artist you wanted to listen to right now.
His friend turned to you and Sarah. "You wanna pregame?"
You and Sarah both shared a look before both shaking your heads. Tonight wasn't about getting drunk or high to either of you. Nick nodded though.
"Yes sir, gimme."
His friend laughed before taking out a few fireball shots, handing one to Nick.
"You sure you wanna be taking that... Uh, now?" Sarah spoke up, refering to him drinking and driving. He waved her off, nodding.
"We'll be fine, it's one shot." He made his friend open the bottle and he quickly took the shot, making him shake his head and let out a loud "Woo." His friend soon did the same.
You couldn't have gotten to the Club any quicker; you wanted to leave the air immediately. Maybe Nick would act a little better once you were in front of their parents.
You and Sarah exited the car and so did the boys. Nick went up to you and took your arm in his, smiling down at you. "Okay, let's go dance."
You smiled. You texted him the first you wanted to do when you got to Midsummers was dance and he remembered. How cute was he?
Sarah was awkwardly standing beside you guys as you walked in. You were so excited you could barely contain it, you squeezed his arm. "I'm so excited!"
Sarah excused herself so she could find and talk Wheezie instead of third wheeling with you.
He hummed in response as he took you the dancefloor, putting his hands on your waist as you put your arms around his neck. The night was as magical as they come; clear starry sky, the sound of faint music coming from inside and the waves crashing onto the beach.
You see Nick's gaze shift to someone behind you and he looked like he'd just seen a ghost. He lets go of you and clears his throat. "Let me uh, go get us some drinks."
You were confused but you nodded along. He walked away and you were by yourself, standing there waiting for Nick to return. You stood there for 15 minutes before deciding that maybe you should go check up on him. You were beginning to worry.
You looked all over the bar and you couldn't find him. You found his friend from before and as he caught your gaze, he had suddenly became tense and nervous.
"Hey, uh. Do you know where Nick went?"
"Nope. Not a clue." His friend replied as you furrowed your eyebrows in suspicion. If anyone knew where Nick was, it was obviously going to be him.
You heard some snuffling in the back and you moved your gaze to behind the boy. There was a door. You quickly walked away to the door and knocked.
"Uh, you shouldn't go in-"
When there was no answer, you opened it to see a girl you had never seen before and Nick. She was on a table and he was in front of her, exchanging spit.
Your heart dropped at the scene, your mouth flew open. "What the hell?!" You shouted.
Nick had turned around and seen you and his eyes widened and he immediately turned away from the girl. "Oh, Y/N-"
"Oh my gosh, you are so gross." You couldn't help but feel your eyes water at the sight, a single tear rolling down your cheek. Your night was definitely ruined now. So much for a magical evening.
You turned away from the scene, ignoring Nick's pleas and you walked away through the crowds. You were so focused on trying not to cry more, you accidentally bumped into someone and they spilled their red wine all over your brand new dress.
You looked up to see Rose and she immediately apologizes but you were already in tears, you broke down. You started crying as she rubbed your shoulder comfortingly.
"I-I'm sorry, Y/N, I can buy you a new one!" Rose exclaimed happily but you shook your head.
Rafe was talking to Kelce when he had heard all the commotion happen - he saw Nick with that girl and then he saw you walking away; he quickly followed you.
He didn't know why he did it; it's not like he cared about you, he just wanted to make sure you were alright. Rafe followed you to where you and Rose were and immediately went by your side.
As he saw your puffy eyes and your dress all ruined, something clicked. He was suddenly angry; he'd heard how excited you were about Midsummers and look how it's turning out.
He heard someone walk up to you and he turned his head to see none other than Nick.
"Y/N, are you- are you okay?" He put his hand on your shoulder and you turned around to shake your head. You really didn't want to make a scene but Nick was the last person you wanted to see, so he was making it impossible for you to keep your cool.
"God, no! You just ruined my night."
He looked around at all the people staring and he took your hand but you ripped it out of his grasp. "Don't touch me, Nick."
Despite your efforts, he still decided to put his hand on your shoulder. Rafe had enough; he pushed him away from you and grabbed him by his collar.
"She said don't touch her, man." Rafe shouted at Nick. "So don't fuckin' touch her."
You couldn't take it anymore; there were too many people everyone and suddenly the music was too loud. You walked away from the scene and held in your cry. You couldn't even go home because stupid Nick had drove you here in his stupid Mercedes.
Rafe let go of Nick once he realized you had walked away. He tried to look for Sarah but she was no where to be found. "Where's Sarah when you fucking need her," he mumbled.
Rose was worried sick about you, wondering what had happened. "Rafe, go talk to her and I'll find Sarah, okay?"
He nodded and sighed. He was worried about you, too but he was going to admit that.
You heard footsteps behind you and you turned around expecting Sarah but you were slightly disappointed once you saw it was Rafe. He sat next to you silently as you sniffled.
He sighed and look over at you. "Nick's an asshole."
You nodded silently. Rafe looked over at you and the sight of you crying made him angrier. He hadn't even managed to make you cry in the 10 years he’d know you; he couldn't believe that Nick could've done so easily. He was slightly glad that he'd never made you cry before because the sight alone made him miserable.
"I'm sorry about... your dress. It was really pretty."
You looked over at Rafe, disbelief in your eyes. Did Rafe Cameron just call your dress... pretty?
He laughed at your expression, making you crack a small smile. His laugh always made you feel a little better, even if it was directed at you.
There was silence for a moment, just listening to the waves crashing and the music from inside the Club. Rafe turned to you, "I know we're not friends or anything... but uh, I'm here if you want to talk."
You smiled back at Rafe. It was unusual to see such a sweet Rafe but you've known him long enough to see it sometimes. He's not completely evil. And maybe you didn't completely hate him. You knew he doesn't like seeing you, Sarah or Wheezie cry. Even though he pretended to hate them, he really doesn't.
You turned away from Rafe, taking a deep inhale. "I don't want to bother you-"
"You're not." Rafe quickly refuted.
You suddenly felt a pidge of guilt as you looked over at Rafe; you possibly ruined his night as well. "Rafe, I'm sorry. You shouldn't feel responsible to calm me down."
Rafe sighed and rolled his eyes. "Stop apologizing, Y/N. You didn't do anything wrong. No one made me come and help you, okay? I did it out of my own free will."
You sighed. "Nick is an asshole."
"We've agreed on that."
"I just wish that I had a perfect night, I had such high expectations and they all just plummeted as the night went on. I know what you're going to say, I shouldn't have had my standards up so high. But I did. And here I am, my dress and makeup ruined and no date." You ranted as Rafe listened and nodded along.
"You don't need a date to be happy. Or a nice dress. Or makeup, I mean, you already look beautiful as is." Rafe said confidentally, making you turn your gaze back to Rafe. You smiled at his words.
"You mean it?"
"Yes, you do look beautiful." Rafe sighed; it was obvious though, everyone thought it. It was just pure fact.
You felt a heat come on to your face and you looked away, bashfully. Rafe Cameron was so confusing - how could one person make you feel so many things?
"I mean, don't get me wrong. You're still the most annoying person on this island, but beautiful nonetheless."
You grinned slightly as you rolled your eyes. That was the Rafe Cameron you knew. "Wow, so nice. Thanks."
You both let out a soft laugh before sitting in calm silence again. The summer breeze making you shiver as you looked at the beach in front of you. Rafe noticed this and without another word, took off his blazer and put it on top of you.
Before you could thank him, you heard a familar shout behind you.
"Y/N!" Sarah ran out to you and Rafe. She was breathless, taking a moment to catch her breathe before continuing. "Fuck Nick. My gosh, I've wanted to say that this whole week. He's so annoying. I'm glad you saw his true colors sooner rather than later, Y/N."
She took a seat between you and Rafe, seperating you. She saw that you were wearing his blazer and she smirked to herself.
"Wow." She said, simply. "Kie owes me 15$"
You and Rafe both looked each other then back at Sarah. "What?"

High Sierra: A Red Dead Redemption Story
Chapter Six: The Outlaws and the In-laws
Arthur finishes shaving his face and washes his razor in the bathroom sink. Looking at himself in the mirror, he does see that he has aged. Perhaps it was being out in the sun for many hours of the day, the stress of the last three years, or a combination of both. He wonders why any woman would be interested in him.
"You're not fooling anyone," he says out loud to himself. He backs away from the sink and turns to grab his shirt hanging on the door knob. Putting it on, he hears a knock on the door. "Yeah?"
"Grampy wants to know if you're ready to go, Daddy." It’s Isaac, his voice somewhat muffled from behind the door.
"Yep, I'll be right out." He straightens out his shirt collar and opens the door. Isaac stands in the doorway in green shorts and a buttoned shirt with parrots on it. "Well, you clean up nicely, son!"
"Grammie helped me pick it out!"
"Shoah," he smiles. "Let's head out to the car."
As Arthur plans to take Isaac home after the cookout, Arthur is taking his car separately. Given the option, Isaac decides to ride with his grandparents, leaving Arthur to ride alone with Copper. So much for loyalty.
Following Hosea, they begin the long drive back to the city, where the Marstons live. They live in a nice suburb, with barbecues, pool parties, and a nearby golf course. Truly the life of luxury.
Arthur never liked being in the city. When he went to college, he had to reside in the dorms his first year and absolutely detested it. The small quarters weren’t the problem, but the noise and endless parties. Arthur preferred a whiskey in the corner of a room while reading his textbooks. Regardless, the city and the dorms gave him the same feeling: dirty and crowded.
Without having Isaac in the car with him, he can be alone with his thoughts. He begins to think about where he is in life and where he wants to be. He started to think about what Hosea said. Why hasn't he married Eliza? Is it commitment issues, fear, the desire for independence, or a combination of all three? Maybe if Mary had never re-entered his social circle, he would have eventually asked Eliza to marry him, but now it's not so straightforward. Not anymore.
And now he has different obstacles in his way. His job and Isaac's cancer. He couldn't possibly think about marriage, at least, not yet.
***
Pulling up into the driveway, Arthur steps out of his SUV and feels the heat of the sun. There are no trees nearby to cast their shade, and he squints his eyes. Once his eyes adjust, he sees the rest of his family get out of Hosea's truck. He turns for a moment to open the back passenger door of his SUV and Copper jumps out. He energetically turns around and as Arthur begins to meet up with his family, Copper follows closely.
Music can be heard from behind the house, but it sounds fresher than a stereo...live music?
"Looks like the band is playing," Hosea calls to Arthur, as he catches up to them.
Arthur nods, smiling softly. "It sure sounds like it. They sound pretty good!"
"Of course, they do," Bessie says matter-of-factly and she takes her grand baby’s hand. "Let's go in.”
As they head up the front steps, the gate to the backyard swings open. A tall man in a red dress shirt and black slacks approaches them. The many rings on his fingers glimmer in the sun.
"Hosea!" Dutch calls, waving.
"Dutch!" Hosea turns to go back down the steps to embrace his long-time friend. "I almost didn't recognize you without being in a suit!"
"Oh, this is a casual gathering, my good friend. I'd hate to get mustard on a thousand-dollar piece of Italian art."
They hug each other, laughing. Dutch steps aside from Hosea and sees who has accompanied him to the cookout. "And Bessie, how nice to see you."
Bessie smiles. "Hello, Dutch.” And then she looks down at Isaac. “Do you remember my grandson?"
Dutch squats down to look at the young boy standing in front of her. "This couldn't be Isaac? You were such a string bean when I last saw you." Isaac smiles shyly. "You look so much like your mother."
Isaac’s eyes light up, that curiosity proving Dutch’s observation. Every time Arthur and Eliza have talked about it, she’s always insisted that he looks mostly like his father. But Arthur can’t deny the resemblance in their eyes, their curiosity, and softness of spirit. Isaac is like his mother. "You know my mom?"
"Of course, I do! Lovely woman." He stands and looks at Arthur. "I know everyone."
"Somehow, that don't surprise me," Arthur comments, extending a hand to Dutch. Dutch shakes it and uses his other hand to clap Arthur's shoulder.
"Good to see you, son."
Arthur feels somewhat awkward, as Dutch was one of the three people that witnessed the event at the last party. "Hi, Dutch."
"How have you been?"
Arthur shrugs and answers vaguely. "Oh, fine. Glad to see you're doing well."
Dutch grins from ear to ear. "Never better! I've got big plans for this group, big plans! We've got advertising, we've got PR, we have a bodyguard, and we have a makeup artiste." The look he gives Arthur indicates there's something special about the makeup artist, meaning it has a feminine shape.
Arthur snorts. Dutch will never cease to do something new, or spare no expense. "Bodyguard? Really?"
"Why sure! I'd ask you, but you're all caught up in protecting baby bunnies and little birdies."
Arthur rolls his eyes. "It's more than that, Dutch."
Dutch replies with a hint of sarcasm and condemnation. "Oh-oh of course it is! Now, let's go back to the shindig, shall we? John's been talking about nothing but you boys since this morning!"
Dutch leads the way as Hosea catches up to walk aside his friend. "How's Annabelle, Dutch?"
Dutch gives his friend a bitter look. "Annabelle's off to see her sister."
"Is that so...?" Hosea's voice drifts off, already knowing why she isn't here to celebrate the band's first tour.
Arthur, too, knows. Perhaps the makeup artiste has something to do with it. Dutch has always been one for the ladies. They just can't seem to resist the fashion sense and ol' Dutch charm. Regardless of age, he has always seemed to charm his way in and out of anything. Poor Annabelle loved him to a fault, and Arthur can never see her leaving him. She would be back, like always.
Arthur begins to look around. There is a good amount of people here, some have gathered in groups and are socializing. There are some children who are running around with balloons, so it is safe to assume that these people are family to the band members. As a group of children run by, Arthur recognizes one of them as the four-year-old John "Jack" Marston. Jack glances at them as he passes then quickly stops, recognizing them.
"Uncle Arthur!" he cheers and runs to him.
"Hiya, Jack!" Arthur greets, as he picks the boy up to give him a hug.
Isaac looks up at Jack and smiles. Jack sees him and waves. "Isaac, hi!"
"Hi,” Isaac replies softly. He isn’t as outgoing as Jack is. That is something he gets from both Eliza and Arthur. In fact, it is by chance that they ever met. A simple accident and happenstance. Like as though fate couldn’t have planned it any better.
Jack studies his friend and sees Isaac's scar. He frowns and points a small finger. "What happened to your head?"
Arthur quickly clears his throat. "Uh, Jack, why don't you and Isaac go play, huh?" Arthur puts Jack down, who seems to forget he had asked a question.
"Okay!" Jack sings.
Isaac points a finger at the balloon floating above Jack’s head. "Hey, Jack, where did you get that balloon?"
"Mama was making them,” Jack says as he turns, already on the move again. I can show you!"
"Sure," Isaac smiles and follows Jack as they run off in a different direction. Copper watches for a moment and looks up at Arthur. Arthur nods and Copper takes off after the children.
Dutch and the rest have already moved on, and Arthur walks quickly to catch up to them. Passing by someone manning the grill, they stop in front of the band which is finishing a set. They have a simple setup, but it is clear that they are a full band. Sean McGuire mans the drums, Javier Escuella with guitar, and John plays the bass as he sings into the microphone. Two women that Arthur doesn't recognize are doing background vocals, while one plays the violin. Together, they make a fine country rock band.
Javier plays a quick riff on his guitar and leaps into the microphone.
"Dejé mi corazón contigo en St. Denis,
pero si me llamas te digo que "¡Si!"
botella tras botella,
que no pudieron reemplazar,
¡las estrellas, las estrellas,
en tus hermosos ojos...!"
Then John comes back in again, with the vocalists joining in:
"But you were a tame queen,
I was a wild thing,
You were of the city,
I was the country
And we could never be!"
Another musical riff and both Javier and John join the microphone.
"'Cause I am an outlaw!
An outlaw
On the run!"
Sean hits hard on the drums and John strums one time and lets it ring until it fades. Those who are gathered applaud and cheer. John bows and gestures to the rest of his band, who all take a bow.
"I guess they're done?" Arthur asks out loud.
"Oh, they'll be playing again," Dutch reassures him. "But they've gotta mingle with the fans." Dutch approaches the band, who are gently setting their instruments aside. "Well done, gentlemen! And oh, ladies." He looks over at the backup singers who giggle.
"Thanks, Dutch." John says. John never called Dutch "Dad" like Arthur had called his adoptive parents. Dutch and Annabelle adopted John when he was twelve, but it seems that their relationship has always been more like a business transaction. Deep down, Dutch has a good heart, but he is always about image. And money.
Dutch walks off to greet some other guests, leaving them to their own devices.
John sees Arthur and eagerly steps off the stage to greet his brother from another mother.
"Arthur!" They take each other by the arm and hug. "Good to see you, brother."
"Good to see you too, John.” When they break away, he gestures to the bandstand with a swing of his arm. “Looks like you got yourself quite the group!"
"Oh yeah, all part of Dutch's plan," he scoffs, his voice more raspy than usual. "It was his idea to sing the whole album for this get-together. My voice better hang on, otherwise, I'm gonna lose it."
"You could just tell him no," Arthur chuckles.
John shakes his head. "I can fire a manager, but I can't fire a manager who happens to be my dad."
"I could see how that would be difficult," Arthur nods.
John comes beside Arthur and wraps an arm around his shoulder. "So how's Isaac doing?"
The tone of the conversation shifting, Arthur’s smile falls. "I wish I had good news…”He pauses, swallowing hard. “His cancer's back."
John removes his arm and swears under his breath. "Then what was all that treatment for?" he asks, his brow furrowed. They both continue to walk about the yard, the sounds of other conversations and laughter filling the property.
Arthur appreciates John’s empathy, someone why shares in the anguish he’s been holding inside his chest. He rolls his shoulders, tucking his chin. "That's what I thought, but Eliza has hope that this new treatment will work."
"Eliza, huh?" John gives Arthur an inquisitive look. "So...how's that going? Heh, or should I even ask?"
Arthur sighs, might as well tell him, given he saw the exchange that started this mess. "It's...better than I thought. But I'm taking a step away from everything. I don't want anyone hurt."
John nods his head, clapping Arthur on the shoulder. "Hey, that's a good plan, Arthur. I've always known that you were a sensitive type."
Arthur gives him a look, but it fails to conceal his smirk. "Hey—"
John then leans in and lowers his voice a tad. "But I need to warn you, Dutch has hired on some new people to represent the band."
Arthur thinks about the bodyguard and beautiful woman that Dutch hired. "Yeah, he did mention that."
"Sure, but did he say who?"
Arthur shrugs, lifting a brow. "Some makeup artist?"
"Yeah, but that's not—"
Arthur doesn't need John to finish that sentence. A few feet away, Dutch is working his charm on a lady, a woman with black hair, in a turquoise party dress and pearls, and little black heels.
It's Mary.
Arthur feels himself freeze in his stride, turning away from her. "Why did he bring her here?"
"She's our advertising,” John explains with a regrettable sigh.
Arthur places a palm on his forehead, eyes wide. "You've got to be kidding me, since when?"
"A week ago?"
He looks at John sharply and points his thumb behind him, in her direction. "He saw what happened!"
John shrugs his shoulders, narrowing his eyes. "You think my dad cares about drama? He creates it for a living!" Arthur quickly walks in the opposite direction and tries to avoid being seen. John follows. "I'm sorry, Arthur."
Arthur shakes his head. He doesn’t want John to feel bad about it. He wasn’t the one kissing her. "It ain't your fault."
"Sure, but that doesn't mean I'm happy for you."
"Do you think she saw me?"
John looks back and after a moment he shakes his head. "She was talking to Dutch, and she was looking right at him."
Arthur looks at John with half lidded eyes and lips forming a flat line, unimpressed. "It's called peripheral vision, John."
John waves off the correction dismissively. "Whatever.” Then suddenly, his eye brightens and he lightly smacks Arthur’s arm. “Hey, have you said hi to my wife?”
"Nope, we just got here."
He points to the house. "She's probably inside. Let's go see."
John leads Arthur past another group, under the patio, and through the sliding doors. It has been a while since Arthur has been here. Going through the back, they pass the living room, down a hallway, and into the kitchen. It is no surprise to see Abigail, hard at work, cutting watermelon. She brushes away her bangs and looks up. "Oh! Arthur! When did you get here?"
Arthur waves at her. "Not too long ago. Isaac is running around with Jack."
Abigail smiles, smoothening her hair with a swipe of her palm. "Oh, that's great, how is the boy?"
"They say his cancer is back," John answers, coming up to her and taking a slice of watermelon.
Abigail clicks her tongue, her smile instantly disappearing. “Oh no. Arthur, I'm so sorry. You know I don't work in the cancer unit, but if I did, he would be my favorite patient," she reaches over and squeezes his arm empathetically.
Arthur feels a lump in his throat and quickly swallows it, nodding his head. He has to keep it in, like he does everything else. "Yeah, he's a good kid."
"How is Eliza taking all this?"
Arthur catches the side-eye from John before answering Abigail. She also had the pleasure to see the exchange and Arthur’s sure she and John have talked about it. "She's taking it hard, we both are."
Abigail nods, understanding. "I'm sure. I haven't heard from her in a couple of days, so I was starting to worry. Now I can see why."
"Yeah, well, at least she talked to you."
Abigail gives John a nervous look, then looks back at Arthur and smiles. "Well, I am glad that you and Isaac could make it. Jack has been so excited! He needed something to be happy about, on account of John leaving on tour."
Arthur puts his hands in his Jean pockets, turning to John. "How long are you going to be gone, John?"
"Three months. We are going eastward, stopping in a few cities, finally landing in NYC."
Arthur lifts his brow, impressed. "Sounds like quite the trip."
"I'll say," Abigail says under her breath, as she aggressively chops at the watermelon.
"It'll go by fast." John's attempt to reassure her doesn't appear to be working, as she taps his hand when he reaches for another slice.
"But it won't be long before Dutch has you go on another tour." She adjusts her posture and voice to mimic her father-in-law, "'Just one more tour and we're in! Just. One. More. Album and we're in, son!" She chops the watermelon again. "It never ends!"
John draws closer to his wife, lowering his voice. "Hey, we've talked about this already, Abigail, do we need to rehash it in front of Arthur?"
"Well, we got to see them fight, now it's our turn!"
"Abigail..."
Abigail goes to speak, then stops herself. She looks to Arthur and her expression softens. "I'm sorry, Arthur. Please forget I said anything."
Arthur waves it off. "I think I'm going to see what Isaac is up to. Hopefully, he isn't getting into something he shouldn't." Arthur steps back and turns around, soon hearing John and Abigail muttering to each other.
He feels his phone in his pocket vibrating and quickly pulls it out. His caller ID says it's Charles.
He answers. "Charles?"
"Arthur, are you at home?"
"No, I'm at a party...or something. What's going on?"
"Can you get to a TV?"
Arthur looks back and sees Abigail and John busy talking, so he goes to their family room where he last remembered the TV sat.
"Yeah, hang on." He enters the family room and turns on the TV. "It's on."
Charles’ tone still remains calm, but there is a budding urgency in his voice. "Go to the local news channel."
Arthur doesn't have cable TV at home, so it takes him a minute to use the remote. "Yeah, give me a sec."
Using the menu, he searches for the local news channel and selects it.
On the TV screen, a young woman stands in front of what looks like orange tape bordering a selected area of woods. He recognizes it to be a campground at a state park where he has patrolled. There are several people in the background. Upon further inspection, he sees Charles on the phone!
Arthur nearly spits and he takes another step toward the television. "Charles?!"
On the screen, he sees Charles’ mouth move, matching the words as he speaks to him over the phone. "I'm hanging up now. I don't want them to know I called you."
"But—"
The call ends, but Arthur continues to watch as the scene unfolds.
A nameplate appears on the screen underneath the news reporter. It reads, Tilly Jackson, High Sierra News Reporter.
"We are here now in the northern region of Redwood Falls, where another hunting accident has been reported. It was found by a game warden, who chooses to remain anonymous, on one of their routine patrols. The identity of the body has not been disclosed at this time, to allow time to contact the family, but we do now have the identity of the first victim of a hunting accident. His name is Thomas Downes, and he is known in the community for philanthropic work at homeless shelters and church functions. He was out on a boar hunting trip and had accidentally shot himself while at camp.
"Now, this recent accident has similar circumstances, so to ensure that precautions are being taken, this area of the park is being temporarily closed. Parks and recreational areas that permit more checkpoints and security will remain open until a new procedure can be in place.
"I have here with me Special Operations Warden Michael Barnes, who has been leading this investigation. Warden Barnes, what can you tell us about the incident?" She points her microphone at him. The smug look on his face clearly shows that he is enjoying the attention.
"Well, Ms. Jackson, this is again another typical case where a hunter does not take necessary precautions in gun safety. It is important to follow all safety guidelines that the Department of Conservation provides. In order to receive your permit, you need to be schooled in gun safety. This victim did not have a permit, and was most likely not properly trained."
Ms. Jackson pauses for but a few seconds, before asking another question. "Is it true that this victim was alone?"
Michael nods his head slowly, a smug grin on his face as he eyes the young reporter. "Yes, and I thank you for asking that question," his attempt at flattery makes Arthur cringe. "You should never go hunting alone. You never know what dangers you may come across."
Ms. Jackson looks unimpressed, moving on to her next question, "Could any of these indicate suicide?"
"Certainly not! With the first accident, there was no suicide note, and after speaking to his family, there was no indication that the victim would commit suicide. Mr. Downes was just a happy-go-lucky dude--er man."
"Is there a coincidence to these accidents happening so closely in succession?"
Michael shakes his head. "Of course not, they are accidents. The only thing they have in common is that they are both so tragic."
The reporter nods. "Understood. Thank you, Mr. Barnes."
"That's Special Agent Barnes."
Ms. Jackson does not respond but turns back to the camera. “Back to you, Tim."
Arthur has heard enough, he can get more details from Charles later. He turns the TV off.
Another victim. The fact that Charles called him suggests there was something that wasn't right. An accident was an accident, and it was all paperwork, but to have another one so quickly...It was another murder.
And that meant something darker was lurking.
There could be a serial killer, ready to kill again.
And Arthur wants to do something about it.
Sorry this one took so long! Been kinda busy with other things, but I hope to get back and post chapters.

Attack On Titan boys head-canons! <3
<modern>
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. What artists/music they would listen to
Eren Jaegar: Eren without a doubt would listen to Destroy Lonely and that genre in general.
Armin Arlert: Armin would listen to softer music like MacDemarco. He would mostly listen to chill, cool and soothing music. I could also see him really liking love music.
Jean Kirschtein: Jean would listen to Kendrick Lamar and hip hop in general. He knows all the words to most of his songs as well.
Connie Springer: Connie I feel like would mostly listen to female rappers. His favorite artists would be Megan the Stallion or SZA. I feel like he would have a big crush on SZA for sure.
Levi Ackerman: Levi would be more into classical music or music that had a classical element to it. He wouldn’t really have a favorite composer either he would just listen to any song.
Erwin Smith: Erwin wouldn’t listen to music often but when he did he would for sure be into 70s-90s music. He would be like Levi in the way he wouldn’t have a favorite artist.
Reiner Braun: Reiner listens to a lot of motivation up beat music so i envision him liking rock and his favorite artist being Metallica because he’s basic. However, when he’s not working out, you can catch him listening to Beach House or Lana Del Ray. He often hid his liking of them to others.
Bertholdt Hoover: Bertholdt would listen to very indie music in my opinion. I cna see him being very into The Buttertones. He liked the feeling the songs gave him.
Zeke Jaegar: For some reason, I can’t imagine Zeke listening to music >< If he had to though it would be Sublime or anything like that.
Porco Galliard: Porco would definitely be into 80s-90s rock but he would also very much enjoy artists like Post Malone.
Colt Grice: Colt would listen to Mac Miller and Hers. He liked listening to music to vibe to. He loves to play both artists full blast.
2. What style of clothing they would wear
Eren Jaeger: Eren would most definitely be wearing cargo pants with straps and buckles on them. He would most likely also be wearing expensive sneakers such as brands like Nike or Steve Madden. He would probably wear oversized shirts along with regular silver chains and necklaces.
Armin Arlert: Armin would rock the soft boy aesthetic in my opinion. His wardrobe would be filled with different colored sweaters. Occasionally underneath the sweaters he’d have a button up shirt. He would also wear a lot of cardigans of multiple colors. As for his pants, they would be either corduroy pants or khaki pants. For shorts he would wear golf shorts/khaki shorts. As for his shoes, they would be vans low top or converse low top.
Jean Kirschtein: Jean would without a doubt dress like a basic white male in my opinion. He would always wear the branded clothing. I imagine him wearing a green nike hoodie a lot with either sweatpants or shorts. He would be like Eren in the aspect where he would wear the more expensive sneakers.
Connie Springer: Connie would wear tank tops or regular tshirts on a daily basis. I also see him wearing flannels a lot either tied around his waist or on him. I could also see him wearing Hawaiian shirts. As for pants, he’s got regular blue jeans or sweatpants. He occasionally wears beanies too. As for his shoes, Connie would wear timberlands or regular sneakers.
Levi Ackerman: Levi would wear regular long sleeve shirts that were either gray, black and navy blue. He would wear regular black pants usually with a black and silver belt. As for shoes he doesn’t really care at all. Since Levi is a germaphobe, he has house shoes and outside shoes. His house shoes were slippers haha and his outside shoes were regular sneakers. He likes to dress comfy and clean. I also think when it’s time to be formal, he’s very formal.
Erwin Smith: Erwin would definitely dress with a more formal style. He would wear button up shirts mostly white and dress pants usually black. Erwin would also wear brown dress shoes that were never dirty. He’d wear a golden watch at all times as well. Always well dressed definitely.
Reiner Braun: Reiner without a doubt is a gym rat. He’s constantly working out. I see him mostly wearing tank tops or regular t-shirt’s. When it gets colder out I think he would wear long sleeve muscle shirts too. Reiner mostly wears sweatpants too. I feel like he also wears a lot of oversized sweatshirts. As for shoes, I think he just has simple Nike or Adidas shoes that are just to his comfort.
Bertholdt Hoover: Bertholdt would definitely be wearing fandom t-shirts I think. He would wear regular basketball shorts or sweatpants. He would have on socks and sandals most of the time as well. Since he’s so tall he of course owns many oversized shirts and sweatshirts too!
Zeke Jaegar: Zeke would regularly wear simple khaki pants that were mostly a tan color. His torso fashion would range from tank tops to t-shirts to sweaters. I feel he would wear rings and bracelets as well. Zeke would either wear dress shoes or regular sneakers. He would really wear anything.
Porco Galliard: Porco’s wardrobe would consist of a lot of plain t-shirts and tank tops. He would always have a jacket on him too. I think he would wear regular cargo pants. As for his shoes, he would have on timberlands on or doc martens. I also see him wearing a watch or unique bracelets.
Colt Grice: Colt would have a ton of oversized shirts that were pastel colors. He would also like to wear shorts a lot which were pastel as well. He wears sandals or nikes pros as well. I see him having a couple of necklaces and bracelets but nothing too fancy.
3. How they would confess to you
Eren Jaeger: Eren would lowkey just outright say it casually. It would just be you two alone doing anything from walking around or cuddling, playing video games etc., and he would just outright say 'I love you' or something like that. On the outside he wouldn't seem nervous but on the inside he would be anxious that you wouldn't feel the same.
Armin Arlert: Armin would be so anxious to confess to you. He would be worried that he wasn’t good enough for you and he was very nervous of your response. He would plan out how he was going to confess to you and go over it again and again. He would definitely confess to you at a planned time in a romantic spot. Armin might even bring flowers or something like that.
Jean Kirschtein: Jean would act casual about it even though he clearly would be nervous. He would tell you exactly how he feels with all of his heart. He would do it verbally in a place where it would just be you two only.
Connie Springer: Connie thinks he’s already charming enough to pull anyone but not too cocky. When it comes to somebody he genuinely likes, his confession would be him being really scared and outright saying it. He would do it near the end of a hangout or possibly out of no where.
Levi Ackerman: Levi has lost so many people that he’s scared to loose you. He would often try to hide his emotions for you in his head and try to make them disappear. When he couldn’t make them disappear he would end up deciding to confess. He expected you to say no but when you said yes he couldn’t help but feel happiness. He would do it verbally and in a space that was quiet and comfortable.
Erwin Smith: Erwin would always give subtle hints that he liked you. He would confess to you in a formal manner. He had the perfect words to confess and he was so romantic with it. He would do it on a beautiful night or sunset. He’s a very romantic with it.
Reiner Braun: Reiner would be sort of uncoordinated with his confession. He would be all over the place with his blushing and lack of eye contact. He was scared of rejection and it took a lot of nerve for him to confess to you. He would do it in a random place as well.
Zeke Jaeger: Zeke has heavily hinted all of the time that he liked you. He would confess in a serious way and wanted an answer if you liked him back or not. He manifested the answer to be yes. He would confess and then immediately ask you on a date.
Bertholdt Hoover: Bertholdt, like Reiner, would be very nervous with a lot of blushing. He would maintain eye contact however he would end up stuttering a lot and then spitting it out. He would confess to you whilst you two were walking around or hanging out at one’s house.
Porco Galliard: Porco would try to act tough on the outside but would ultimately end up blushing. He would plan to confess at the end of a hangout when he would drop you off at your house. He’s always had a little bit of Tsundere in him and it was surprising that he confessed first.
Colt Grice: Colt would be extremely nervous and would want to do it over text. He would text you his confession and the next time you two were to hangout he would bring you flowers. He would be very nervous but it was a cute nervous.
4. How they would react if somebody hurt you (emotionally/verbally)
Eren Jaeger: Eren would most likely give the person the dirtiest most intimidating look ever. He would quickly remove you from the situation and stare them down as you two walked away. Later he would contact them and tell them off.
Armin Arlert: Armin would try to avoid any conflict with the other person and comfort you as much as possible. Armin would let you vent to let it out if you needed to. Like I said he would try to avoid conflict unless you wanted him to talk to the person.
Jean Kirschtein: Jean immediately take your side. He would step in front of you and tell of the person. Afterwards he would down grade the person who hurt you comparing both of you and how you were so much better.
Connie Springer: Connie would definitely start to go off on the person but then catch himself and try avoid the situation by leaving. He would try to change the subject and try to get you stuff to make you feel better.
Levi Ackerman: Levi would without a doubt make a couple threats. He would raise his voice a little bit as well. He would be angry that somebody would hurt you and quickly tell of the person. You being hurt would bother him the rest of the day and he just wanted you to be safe and happy.
Erwin Smith: Erwin would try to sort out the situation. After he tried he would help comfort you and let you cry on him if needed. Erwin would do whatever you asked to make you feel better.
Reiner Braun: Reiner would get extremely angry almost into a fight. Thoughts of you being hurt pissed him off so much. He would tell you that if anybody tried to hurt you again to tell him and he’ll take care of all of it.
Zeke Jaeger: Zeke would do the same as Levi kinda did. He would just give the person a intimidating scary stare but instead of raising his voice he would talk very calmly. Afterwards he would ask if you were okay and offer to do more about the situation.
Bertholdt Hoover: Bertholdt would be very upset that you got hurt and felt badly because he didn’t really know what to do. He would let you vent and let it out and offer to make you food or take you somewhere and just trying to do the bare minimum.
Porco Galliard: Porco would be pissed. He would make you go somewhere else while he went off on the person. He didn’t want anybody hurting you so he would make himself clear with the person by yelling in their face. Later he would still be pissed and would keep asking you if you wanted him to do anything more about it.
Colt Grice: Colt would try to handle the situation calmly and once he caught himself feeling more aggressive, he would exit the situation. He would calm down later and help you feel better by doing anything you asked.
5. Where they would take you on the first date
Eren Jaeger: Eren would want a more private date i feel like. He would want it to be a movie night at one of your houses. He would definitely buy the snacks and choose the movie. He would be very direct and put his arm around you but also respect boundaries.
Armin Arlert: Armin would have a picnic date. He would choose a peaceful quiet spot on a nice day. He would bring your favorite flavor cake along with your favorite fruits. He would hold your hand a lot and constantly admire your beauty.
Jean Kirschtein: Jean would take you out on a dinner date. He would choose a more fancy place but not too fancy. Afterwards he would walk around the city or town with you and just talk and bring you home making sure you’re safe.
Connie Spinger: Connie would take you out on a carnival date. Connie likes all rides except the zero gravity rides and it’s super embarrassing for him. He’d win you a plushie and buy you cotton candy/corn dogs or whatever you would want. Near the end he would offer to go on the ferris wheel for a very romantic ride to see the sunset.
Levi Ackerman: Levi would be very picky with where he would take you and would end up just asking you what you would wanna do. Wherever you would decide to go he would be fine with it. He would occasionally try to put his arm around you or hold your hand as well.
Erwin Smith: Erwin, like Jean, would take you on a romantic dinner date. He would take you to a very fine restaurant and make sure to get the best seat. He would also get the finest food and make sure everything went how you wanted it to go. No doubt, he would get you flowers and make sure they were your favs. He would ALWAYS make sure you get home safe.
Reiner Braun: Reiner is a very active person. Deep down he would wanna go on a gym date but he would come to the conclusion that it wouldn’t be a good idea and settle for just a bowling night. Afterwards he would drive you home and made sure you made it inside.
Zeke Jaeger: Zeke would want to make you happy so he would take you on a shopping date. He’d take you to your favorite mall or place to shop and let you pick out things you wanted. He would help hold your bags and also hold your hand.
Bertholdt Hoover: Bertholdt would have a videogame date. When you would get to his house he would have a nice room set up with tons of pillows and blankets in front of a TV with two controllers. He would also get snacks and drinks for you. During the date you two would lightly cuddle while playing fighting games, racing games etc. At the end of the date he would ask to see you again and would watch you walk to your car/away.
Porco Galliard: Porco is more of a morning person so I could see him taking you out on a brunch date. He would take you to a cafe and pay for everything not even giving you the chance to offer. Afterwards, he would take you on a walk around town and look at very beautiful nature sights. He would hold your hand and try to act chill and cool but on the inside he was super flustered and in love.
Colt Grice: Colt would take you on a movie theatre date. He would make sure to get the best seats in the back and get a large popcorn for you two to share. Colt would wanna see a horror/thriller movie and get scared when there were jump scares. He was very embarrassed by it but you thought it was funny.
If all the stories were true, the president of the Fae Run Country Club was the Devil himself. I’d had the fortune of not running into him all summer, enjoying the close proximity to what otherwise might be considered ‘good people’, as I served drinks, folded towels, and did whatever else my manager had sent me to do. That particular day, I limped after my coworker Karlie — the cooler filled with ice and Evian between us making us as useful as a horse with a lame leg — as we brought the beverages out to the 8th hole of the golf course. The community carts had been forbidden from use, much to the dismay of my shoulder.
A quarrelsome two stood beside the green, too rich to stop their argument for us. The one’s shoulders were cast back, face tilted up as if God was also privy to the conversation he was having with the pink-faced man. I’d seen a dozen of his type infesting the green lawns of Fae Run. What set him apart was how quickly he cut down the man with words I’ll never know, courtesy of the lawnmowers. Weak arms were quickly uncrossed and the WASP wannabe buzzed back to the safety of the clubhouse hive.
“Ha!” Karlie scoffed, setting her end of the cooler down with a hard rustle of ice. “Bob had that one coming for a while.”
There were a half dozen members named Bob, but she came to know every one of them over the 8 years that she’d been working there. I’d barely met any of them and I’d been there for 2 months.
“Is Bob a problem?” I asked, setting my end of the cooler down. The ache of carrying it almost a mile thrummed in my arm, thrilled to have been released.
“I certainly wouldn’t want to be his server at dinner,” Karlie said. Her face fell and quickly she was tucking her polo back into her khaki pants, slicking back the wild fly-aways the walk had earned her.
“Ladies.” The remaining man approached us, his shirt unbuttoned past regulation to show off the tan earned from hours spent by the poolside. “Less chatting more working, yes? I would hate to have to speak to your manager about disciplinary action. I want this golf course as immaculate as possible.”
“Yes, sir,” Karlie replied.
“You’re breaking the dress code,” I offered, nodding to the undone button and soft curls of chest hair it guarded. If he wanted everything to be perfect he could start with himself.
He whipped off his sunglasses, mouth disgusted as he gave me a once over. “What is your name, girl?”
“Tav,” I said.
“I doubt that.” He hooked the glasses into his illegal shirt and turned to Karlie. “Ms. Ackerman, does Tav have somewhere to be?”
She stumbled over her words, unable to make eye contact with him.
“I know you are short-staffed,” he cut in, “but I could make much better use of her as my personal caddy for the day.”
“That’s not the job that I applied for,” I said. I had no interest in following some dumbass who only got to his position in life because his daddy foot all his bills and covered up all his mistakes. It was bad enough that I was working here — I owed my friend Will a favor — but I refused to sequester myself to such agonizing mediocrity.
“All employees of the Fae Run Country Club are required to know how to perform any duty they may be called upon at the drop of a hat,” he said. “Clearly you’ve missed training in more than one area.”
I opened my mouth to shoot back a retort when I heard Karlie’s voice tremble.
“Mr. Hope, please.”
She could have poured the chest full of ice over me and it would have been less bone-chilling than those three words. My eyes dart over him, trying to place those features to the portraits of board members that hung in the hallway leading to the main office. Maybe the sunglasses and casual attire had fooled me, but the disappointed frown was unmistakable: I was standing before the Devil.
“Tell your boss to make the necessary shifts,” he said. “I will take care of our darling Tav, here.”
Karlie tucked tail and turned back to the clubhouse. The sun baked a degree hotter with each step of hers, pushing me further into the custody of the Devil of Fae Run. The urge to run after her pressed itself, but I held it back. I couldn’t get myself fired: I still owed Will for lying for me, getting the charges dropped, and scrubbing my record. I just needed to get through this summer free and clean.
“Don’t worry, I will take good care of you,” he said. The words reeked of lies, but I tailed after him anyway. His cologne whipped back with the breeze as I followed him to the golf cart. The sweetness and warmth sent a shiver through me. It must have come from abroad, the undernotes speaking of warm sands and late-night dinners, and probably costing twice my seasonal salary.
I hesitated as I slid into the fine leather seat next to him, not any further than I had to, and watched as he turned the key.
“You really think I am going to bite you?” he said. He pressed the pedal and the cart jerked forward.
I slid further into the seat as I saw the sharp grass zipping by the floorboard more quickly than I would like it to. His chuckle at this was quiet under the whine of the cart. It was going to take more than the threat of turfburn for me to take his treatment lying down. I couldn’t refuse his orders, but I didn’t have to like it.
“You were threatening to fire me and Karlie a few minutes ago.”
“Was I?” he asked. “You’re not very good at listening, Tav.” The corners of his lips pulled back in disgust. “What is your real name? Tav sounds like something you’d call a dog. Although, you would make a pretty picture fetching my golf clubs.” He paused at the thought.
“My friends call me Tav,” I said. Mr. Hope steered the golf cart back onto the path and I almost gripped his leg to steady myself as the cart wobbled back onto its steady charge forward. I tucked my hand quickly under my black golf skort, taking comfort in the weight of my thigh.
“I’m not your friend: I’m your employer.”
“If you want to know it so bad, why don’t you just look it up when we get back to the clubhouse?” I should have bit my tongue, but Mr. Hope was not going to be calling me by my government name if I had anything to say about it.
The cart coasted to a stop, the clubhouse within sight. “If you want me to call you like a dog then you can get out and run after the cart like one.” He nodded for me to step out. “Go on, Tav.”
My legs were still twitching from the hike out to the 8th hole and I was maybe enjoying the custom fans on the cart a little too much. But between that or telling him my full name, I stepped out, cringing as the sun baked my skin once more. It didn’t take long until he was pressing the cart forward. He drove it just fast enough that I was always on his heels, no matter how hard I ran.
As my sneakers thumped the white pavement I imagined they were stomping that stupid handsome face of his. It looked all-natural – there was a small scar on his forehead and plenty of wrinkles that cut from his amber eyes – but the soft curl to his hair and all-linen outfit told the world that he could afford plastic surgery if he wanted to. He could probably afford to buy the plastic surgeon too if the rumors were true.
Mr. Hope parked the golf cart with the herd of others after what felt like a day of running. I heaved heavy breaths in and out, hands on my knees as I considered a nap on the blinding concrete.
“I’m surprised that you made it, Tav. Such a good girl.” Mockery highlighted his voice, but the words caught me off guard. I turned them over in my mind, wondering what other sweet praises the Devil liked to stab with.
“It was a piece of cake,” I lied.
He turned and headed towards the clubhouse, tossing a come-here whistle over his shoulder. I scrunched my face up, swallowing the nasty names I was already starting to come up with for him. I’d share those later with Karlie and Will.
The clubhouse wrapped its welcoming chill around us. I didn’t even mind the goosebumps on my arms, rubbing them only once as I followed him back to the foyer. He pulled out his phone and shot off a quick text before stopping a server carrying a saran-wrapped tray full of chicken salad croissants to the meeting room.
“Have you seen Ms. Zora?” he asked.
“I’m right here.”
Ms. Zora’s white polo and black skort could have gotten her mistaken for club staff if it wasn’t for the glowing pearls that encircled her swan-like neck. She was the secretary for the board and seemed to have a habit, I noticed, of showing up when you least wanted her to.
Raphael waved off the server, not even watching as she scurried away, head down muttering a prayer of thankfulness. He gestured to the walls and ceilings of the foyer.
“Where are all the banners that we ordered?” he asked.
Ms. Zora rolled her eyes, huffing a sigh of exasperation. “Supply chain issues. Don’t worry: I got us a full refund and have contacted that little print shop down the road.” She laughed, “You should have seen how grateful they were that I wanted everything ASAP and at a discount too.”
“I do not care about a discount. I want this foyer decorated now,” he said.
“I’ll give them a call,” Ms. Zora smiled. Her cunning gaze soon fell on me, her smile dropping with it. “Is there a reason why you are here Ms. Baldur?”
“Oh, so she does have a name?” Raphael laughed. “Ms. Baldur is my caddy for the day. I do have to say, I have grown quite accustomed to calling her Tav, though. It has a certain peasant charm to it.”
My clean-cut nails bit into my palms as I balled my fists up. Just get through the day, that’s it. If he used my name any more times I might have to start going by my full name just to get the stink of him off of it.
“I need to go make that call,” Ms. Zora excused herself. He didn’t watch her leave, instead smirking and staring hungrily down at me as if I were the chicken salad sandwiches.
“What are you looking at?” I asked.
“Ms. Baldur,” he said, rolling the r with a flourish. “Such a nice ring to it. Maybe I’ll call you that if you do a good enough job today. Please me and I’ll please you.”
“I-“ He knew he had turned my nickname into an annoyance. I expected him to sprout horns any minute now. “What makes you think that I want you to please me? Can’t I just do my job?”
He turned, heading back out to the golf course. A group of men had managed to gather in the few minutes we’d been inside, chattering and guzzling Bud Lights as if they were college frat boys born again in the heat of the summer.
“Raph!” one of them exclaimed. “What took you so long?”
“I was just making sure everything was ready and attending to a few stray animals.” He looked at me with that remark, before continuing, “Nothing exciting.” He popped his sunglasses back on as the cloud cover retreated. My eyes were drawn once more to the unbuttoned violation. I stared a bit too long as I found his eyes peeking out the peripheral of the shades, waiting for mine to see them. He gave a smile and I went off to his golf cart to sulk in my rosy cheeks.
They chatted and chatted until one of them finally clapped his hands together in anticipation. Beer can after empty beer can clunked into the trash can, and one by one the carts started.
“Out,” he said.
“What?” I said.
“Do you have cotton in your ears? Out. You want to be named like a dog, you’ll run like a dog.”
I got out, folding my arms as I watched him get in. “I thought we were done with all this.”
“Oh, I’m sure you are, but I’m not done with your lesson, Tav. If you keep up, I’ll drive you back after the 18th hole.” And with that, he backed the cart out and zipped off after the pack.
The Punk and The Suit 5
After a few lunches of proving Kristoph can at least stand on a board without falling and getting glares from Eric and his cronies, Kieran and Kristoph make plans for a Saturday.
“So if you are actually going to ride the board, you are going need clothes you can get dirty and shoes with some actual give in the soles that you won’t mind getting scuffed.”
Kristoph just looks nervous and nods.
“You do have other shoes right?”
Kristoph pursed his lips and shakes his head, “Dress and golf shoes for meeting with some clients that refuse to meet in the office.”
Kieran rolls his eyes, “Well we can go get you some cheap skate shoes.…….you got clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, right?”
Kristoph refuses to meet his eyes,
“RIGHT?”
Kristoph turns back to Kieran with a pained face, “Pajamas?”
Kieran stands up, “Are you fucking kidding me!? All you own are suits?”
Kristoph tries to defend himself, “No, I own Polo’s too, that’s not a suit!”
“That is just weekend suit, causal suit, this mother fucker!”
Kristoph trying to get back on skating, “I have seen people go skating in pajamas.”
“And I bet even your pajamas have ties.”
Kristoph looks away.
“No! No Way!”
“It’s only one pair! It was a novelty gift I got for Christmas. It’s not even a real tie. It just on one side of the shirt to look like a tie when you button it up.”
Kieran is laughing hard to himself, “Motherfucker got ties and buttons on his pajamas.”
Kristoph tries for a good comeback, “They are a high qualify material and they feel nice. Probably nicer fabric than anything you wear.”
“Since I usually sleep naked, yeah, I bet the fabric is.”
Kristoph was glad he was already blushing or else it would be obvious were his mind was going.
“Whatever, I guess we just got to take you on a small shopping trip.”
Kristoph huffed, “Fine but we should get you a suit while we are at it.”
Kieran reacts shocked, “Who says I don’t have a suit?”
Kristoph looks him up and down, “Whatever suit you do have, if you have one, doesn’t fit you well. Was probably bought at some budget store, black slacks and blazer with a white button up. If there is a tie, most likely that is black as well or high school colors. Fits you loose, wore once, that you bought out of necessity and never wore again. Or is some family hand-me-down that gets passed around when needed. And the way you and Patrick act, my guess is the only time you wear a suit is to get married, get buried, or to go to court. Sounds about right?”
Kieran laughs and flips him off, “WOW. I didn’t know you could be a dick, Kris.”
Kristoph laughs quietly, “I am in Marketing. My whole job is to study people and try and learn what they like and don’t like to try and get them to buy our product. The product of that is sometimes you get pretty good at reading people.”
“Oh and that gives you permission to be a Pissy Krissy?”
“That means I can call out people on things sometimes that they might not know themselves. For example, people will almost always get the taller cup, even when the shorter cup can hold more, because the taller cup looks like more. And since you were giving me a roasting me about my closet, thought it was fair to send a few embers back at you.” Kristoph grins
Kieran laughs, “Well you’re not wrong. I do only have one suit. It does fit like shit. I have worn it more than once but only for weddings and funerals, so yes black with white button up. Bow Tie because I am fucking fancy.”
Kristoph snorts at the bow tie comment, “I would like to see you in the bow tie.”
Kieran leans into Kristoph, “No other clothes, just the bow tie?” and begins to laugh. “Fine, we will get you some NORMAL clothes to skate in and I’ll get a good suit since I have the art thing coming up. My manager has been bitching about showing up in my normal attire. Stated I needed to dress up for the press anyways.”
Kristoph smiles, “It’s a date then?”
Kieran, “A date. Especially if our families ask.”
Hazbin Hotel - Alastor & Rosie - One Hell of a Team
TW: 18+
Their first murder leaves Alastor and Rosie with a special taste…
The scorching summer sun shone mercilessly down on the Louisiana Country Club, which stood out like a filthy stain in the wasteland of endless farmland and vast countryside. The country club was surrounded by rough, dry meadows and extensive woods.
The heat blazed over the lush green of the golf course. Sprinklers danced and the sun painted glittering rainbows as white golf balls flew through the air and across the grass.
A gentle breeze allowed the mellow grass to sway lazily in the warm wind, while countless bugs buzzed and hummed restlessly in the stifling heat.
The polished windows of the main building reflected the glaring sunlight, while the clear sky stretched above Alastor’s and Rosie's heads and not a single cloud dared to spoil the idyllic picture of pure blue. Even the birds were silent, with only the lively twittering of overzealous crickets interrupting the peace and quiet of the afternoon teatime.
Alastor and Rosie sat in the protective shade of a parasol at a table on the terrace with a cup of tea.
"Hm..." Rosie enthused, lavishly. "Today really is a wonderful day, wouldn't you say, Alastor?" she inquired of her best friend, the gentleman seated opposite her in a white shirt, black bow tie, and round glasses perched on the tip of his nose.
"Heaven on earth and a pure bliss," Alastor replied serenely, a smile curling his lips. "Care for more tea, my dearest Rosie?"
"Indubitably."
Alastor rose elegantly from his chair, lifted the teapot, and with a gentle hand, poured some more for the lady. The sound of Fats Waller's rich voice and how she sang the lyrics of "Ain't Misbehavin'" spilled from the speakers of the small table radio, sizzling and static-ridden, the rustling melody accompanied by his piano playing.
"I dare to say, the jazz craze is taking over, eh?" Rosie steeped her Assam with sugar cane. Slowly, her spoon stirred in her cup until the crystals dissolved into the dark brew. Sideways, she caught Alastor's grimace at the sight of the huge amount of sugar cane in her tea. "The rhythm, the spontaneity. Quite the bee’s knees. Heard of the new jazz joint downtown? Been there yet?" She rested the spoon on the saucer and brought the porcelain to her lips.
"Jazz, eh? Haven't stepped in yet, but the music and its leading voices quite captivate me." Alastor sipped his own Assam, prefering his tea without sugar. "These country clubs, so buttoned-up, they create their own lost world. Everything there is so... stiff… Jazz on my radio broadcasts could be the cat's pajamas, a real breath of fresh air, or should I say, a blast from Louis Armstrong's trumpet?"
"Alastor, miming the wag for once," Rosie sniggered in amusement. "But you're right. Jazz is the new sound for the escapism this spoiled society craves."
"Absolutely, a splendid escape. Speaking of escape, heard about the party next weekend at the Fitzgeralds’. They’re promising something ‘unprecedented and utterly daring’.” Alastor gestured grandly, then leaned close to Rosies ear, ensuring their chat wouldn’t have an unwanted audience. “I suspect they’re just desperately aim to outdo the Morgans’ bash from last month. Rumor has it, they're planning to introduce the Charleston to the elite. It’ll be quite the spectacle, watching the old guard cutting a rug."
"Oh, the competition never ends, does it? These bashes, tiresome, and becoming more and more of competitions for the biggest show-off. Who can be the most extravagant, be the talk of the town. Like we're all characters in a novel, vying for the most dramatic storyline."
"Indeed." Alastor always had more tea to spill during his outings with Rosie, ever keen on the latest gossip and sharing it with his best friend. "Caught wind of the Robinson debacle? Their latest venture has failed spectacularly. They're practically social pariahs now. It’s all the town can talk about. Seems their stock’s is falling faster than hemlines!"
Rosie waved it off. "Heard, and can't say I'm all wet," she whispered, swiftly glancing all around. "Always too big for their britches… They were always so utterly confident, almost arrogant. Watching their fall from grace is like observing a meticulously planned fireworks display that ends in a fizzle. There’s a certain… satisfaction in it…"
A broad grin graced Alastor’s grimace. "Schadenfreude, my dear friend, which is the word you were looking for, a really snazzy German term. But it’s hard not to indulge when the high and mighty take such a spectacular nosedive. It’s the most entertainment we get around here, apart from my fantastic radio broadcasts."
"Spot-on..." Rosie muttered, downing the last of her Assam. The contents of the teapot were completely bone dry. "Speaking of entertainment," she changed the subject of their conversation. "I was mulling over of hosting a little soirée of my own. Nothing like these grandiose displays, mind you. More intimate, with real jazz musicians. I want to see our peers let their hair down, for once. We’ll have it all—music, dance, and maybe even a bit of bootlegged gin, the hooch to loosen up the stiff collars."
Alastor applauded his hands with zest. "A really splendid idea, my dearest Rosie! Let's show them how it’s done and give them something to jaw about. This time we could be the trendsetters. Just imagine the talk it’ll stir up, us hosting something so… authentic. It’ll be the cat’s pajamas!"
"Exactly my thought, Alastor!" Rosie beamed, her enthusiasm palpable. "High time we spiffed up these gatherings with some genuine fun. Let's put our heads together on it. It'll be our little project, a gem of authenticity in a sea of fakery. We'll be the talk of the town, the big cheese, the darlings of the Jazz Age, flappers and philosophers in equal measure."
Alastor scrutinized, swirling the empty teapot back and forth. "Oh, I'm all in. Let’s shake up this stiff status quo. More tea, or shall we start planning our soirée? After all, rebellion is the greatest form of flattery in these modern times, wouldn’t you agree?"
Dusk painted the grasslands and woodlands of the Louisiana Country Club in the most beautiful colors, a brilliant yellow and a blazing orange. In the last light of the fading sun, the shadows grew. The heat was waning and the staff had already started to close the parasols. The first exterior lights flickered noisily to life, the electricity crackling. A bunch of boys were busily collecting the white golf balls scattered across the green grass.
"I reckon it's time to beat it..." sighed Rosie melancholically as Alastor, ever the thoughtful gentleman, offered his assistance and helped her to stand up. Further planning of the soirée would be postponed until their next outing. "The day's wearing thin and you know how angry Franklin can get if I'm not back before the lights are out..."
"Hm..." Alastor muttered as he handed her her hat and offered her his arm. When Alastor touched her, she winced. "Oh, Rosie..." He read her straight through. "You're a very special kind of actress, but even your smile for your old pal can’t mask the anguish in your eyes." Before Rosie could respond, he had carefully taken her wrist and exposed her arm. Under the silky fabric of her dress, gruesome abrasions, ghastly scratches and deep blue marks appeared on her pale skin. She froze in horror in his hold. "You know I've got no use for your husband," he spoke in a soft voice. His fingertips dragged their comforting circles over her arm. "I don't like the way he treats you and his manners towards a dame are distasteful. I would prefer to make him-"
"Alastor, don't-" Rosie interrupted him in his sentence as she quickly freed herself from his hold and hid the cruel sight of her arm under the fabric of her dress again. She closed her eyes as her fingers clawed into the cloth of his shirt. Her voice fell to a faint whisper. "You know how my father promised me to my husband. It was a business deal and I wasn't given the say or the luxury of complaints." She sighed. "I-It... It's gotten unbearable with him, Alastor. This marriage... it's... suffocating..." The rest of her words died on the tip of her tongue. Her voice trembled as her fingernails dug into his flesh. They strolled slowly around the country club building.
"Rosie..." Slowly, the everlasting smile slipped from Alastor's face. "I have known you for years, you are my oldest and closest confidant. I was reluctantly forced to watch you fade into a shadow of yourself in the presence of that abominable man, and I must admit that it pains me greatly to see you so diminished. What he is doing to you is not-"
"Alastor, please pipe down your voice," Rosie pleaded. Nervously, she began to chew on her lower lip and quickly looked all around. "Franklin is a man of high repute, no doubt revered by many, a man above reproach. And I... I am merely his arm candy, the canary with clipped wings and caged in gold, sweating to live up to what society expects of me… I gotta play the dutiful wife, because I am the fool…”
"You can't be justifying his violent behavior towards you!" Alastor objected, full of anger and protest, but also helplessness. "Neither his age nor his wealth, let alone his position as your husband, allow him such a right."
Rosie fought down a harsh sob as teardrops shimmered in the corners of her eyes, threatening to blur her vision. She quickly blinked them away. "What’s to be done, Alastor?" she desperately asked her best friend. "I can't find a way out of this marriage. Filing for divorce and leaving Franklin would cause a scandal and shame... I’d be a marked doll. I probably wouldn't be able to step outside the door again."
"Oh, my dearest Rosie..." Alastor sighed softly. When they reached the waiting car in the driveway, he pulled out a handkerchief and handed it to her before opening the door to the back seat for her and they separated. "I promise you, you're not in this alone. We'll scout out an escape, somehow we'll dig up a way for you," he whispered. "I promise you that you can count on me."
Rosie took a deep breath, wiping the traces of tears from her cheeks. There was a weak smile on her lips, overshadowed by her somber expression and the hopelessness in her eyes. "You are my port in a storm. Thanks, Alastor."
"Sure thing! In case of need, you know who to buzz." He gave her an encouraging smile as he bid her goodbye "I wish you a good night, Rosie."
"Nighty-night, Alastor."
The next night was dreadfully dark.
The starry shape of the moon was missing from the firmament. A black moon ruled over the darkness and the dense clouds drowned out the last light of the stars. Sheer endless stacks of gloomy black clouds smothered the sky. A warm wind blew. Its hideous howling echoed like a dog's whining and wailing between the buildings. In the distance, thunder rumbled sinisterly and glaring flashes of light split the sky, roaring and crashing.
A severe storm was looming on the horizon.
The glaring flashes of lightning shattered the deep darkness of the night as the thunderclap that followed tore Alastor roughly from his peaceful dreamland. He was startled out of his sleep with a strangled shriek as the ceiling above his head trembled. Again and again, the sky was split into thousands of pieces by glaring light, the stars shattered into shards and the earth seemed to shake, while the storm and the wind raged against one another like two wild beasts in battle. Rain roared.
Alastor sighed sorrowfully. He closed his eyes and rubbed his raging temples when suddenly the soft ringing of the telephone from the kitchen reached his ear, the sound muffled by the closed bedroom door. "The phone?" Surprised, he glanced at the clock display on his wall. "Who would...?" he pondered as a feeling of dread settled in the pit of his stomach. "Rosie!" Filled with fright, Alastor leapt from his bed. His leg tangled in his lay and he didn't take a very glamorous fall onto the hard wooden floor.
"Damn..." Under bated breath and between curses, Alastor pulled himself back onto two legs before sprinting barefoot out of the bedroom and into the kitchen to the phone. He yanked the receiver from its stand. "Rosie?" He listened to the stunned silence on the other end of the line as irritated fingers rubbed the sore spot on his arm from his fall off the bed. He stifled a yawn and tried to keep the sleep out of his voice. "Rosie? What's the matter? It's quite an ungodly hour for a call from you..."
"Alastor?" A strangled whisper broke through the static, her voice trembling. "I-I... I find myself in quite the predicament... I... I fret I've done something dreadfully wrong... Something most unfortunate has happened to my husband. Alastor, y-you must come here immediately..." Rosie's voice broke off.
"What happened?" Alastor was wide awake, frantically rubbing the remaining sleep from his eyes. "Rosie, I need you to speak to me more clearly. Are you in harm’s way?" The silence and the incessant static on the other end of the line were driving him crazy. "Rosie? Rosie, please talk to me."
"Oh, Alastor... I don't dare over the phone. Could you possibly make your way here?"
He heard her unsteady breaths and heavy sobs through the receiver. "Hang in there, Rosie. Promise me you'll stay up wherever you are, do you hear ? I am getting dressed and making my way out as we speak, please leave the door ajar for me. Whatever happened, we'll deal with it together."
"Please, just make haste, Alastor..."
"I’ll be there posthaste. Please try to stay sane until then, will you?" he promised, when the next moment lightning struck with a roaring thunderclap and the line went dead. He clenched his fists, cursing, and slammed the receiver back into its holder. Alastor had to get to Rosie pronto.
"Rosie!" His voice cracked. Frantically, he strove to shout her name against the crushing silence as he rushed through the heavy front door of the mansion, his boots muddy and his clothes soaked to the bone by the pouring rain. Dark strands of hair hung in his face, the lenses of his glasses were blind and he had armed himself with an axe, just in case.
Alastor strained to hear. "Where are you, Rosie?" The eerie silence seemed almost peaceful as he listened to the rapid, fast-circulating blood rushing through his veins and his heartbeat echoing loudly in his ears. His knuckles turned white as they clutched the wet handle of the axe tighter.
"Rosie?" whispered Alastor. The dim light of the antique lanterns along the walls flickered nervously. The reddish glow of the rising morning sun fell against the rigid walls of the mansion, creating ominous shadows, dust specks danced bustling in the first sunshine. In the distance, the bells of the church chimed solemnly for the full hour. Faintly, almost tenderly, each of the individual strokes against the dull metal mingled with the bizarrely cheerful chirping of the birds and echoed hauntingly in Alastor's head, while his wheezing breath slowly strangled his throat and filled his lungs with wadding.
"Where are you, Rosie?" His mouth was dry, his hurried footsteps bouncing back from the towering brick walls of the mansion, betraying his panic as his restless gaze twitched back and forth, keeping a careful eye on the shadows.
"H-Here..." Suddenly, the wretched sound of her voice came from the kitchen.
Alastor dashed towards the kitchen.
"Goodness gracious, Rosie! What has happened here?" As Alastor entered the room, he suddenly stepped in something moist. A sticky liquid stained the tips of his boots and the stinging smell of a mixture of iron and salt crept into his nose. The smell of blood clouded his senses as he stood stiff and silent in the red puddle, but then he spotted Rosie.
Her silhouette crouched on the ground with her head down and her shoulders slumped. The gleam of the knife blade in her hands shed an ominous, shimmering glow on the scene. Her husband's body laid amidst shards of glass and a smashed chair.
Alastor took a deep breath, then crossed the pool of blood on the kitchen tiles with steady steps and sat down with his best friend, sighing in sadness. The brass handles of the cupboard doors dug into his spine. "My dear Rosie, let's set the knife aside, shall we?" Carefully, he freed it from her tight grip.
"Oh, Alastor..." her voice whispered weakly, stifled by heavy sobs. "W-What have I done?" Eyes sunken and cheeks wet with tears, she stared stunned at her bloodied hands. "I didn't mean for it to come to this. Oh, Alastor, I had no wish to cause harm and hurt him. My only desire was to protect myself from him but then the things took a dreadful turn…”
"Is he dead?" Alastor demanded to know, his voice low. He rose and stalked over to her husband, his chest rising and falling weakly with rattling breaths. More and more blood oozed from the wounds of his injuries as the pool on the floor grew.
Rosie shook her head swiftly. "I believe he is still drawing breath, albeit faintly. I am filled with fright, Alastor, truly frightened..."
"Hm..." Lost in thought, his boot nudged his body, Franklin tried to stir with a grave groan. "Rosie, listen carefully. We must remain composed now. Taking him to a hospital is out of the question, as it would raise far too many inquiries. Yet, do not fret, we get through this predicament together..."
Rosie looked at her best friend, her eyes wide with fear. "But what shall we do for him, Alastor? If he... if he succumbs, I shall be branded a murderess!"
"Now, now, my dearest Rosie, please do not distress yourself with such thoughts..." Alastor asserted. He got down on his knees next to her husband and rolled up the sleeves of his shirt. "No one will talk about you as a murderess" he promised her. "No one will ever know what happened here and no one shall cause you harm evermore." An ice-cold smile graced his lips as he stared deep into Franklin's eyes and wrapped his hand around his throat.
Franklin gasped. A mixture of blood and drool gushed from his mouth, snot ran from his nose and spread across his chin. His eyes bulged out of the sockets of his skull as Alastor firmly squeezed his throat. Deep crimson color built in his face, Franklin spat and spluttered blood. Alastor stared him straight in the eyes with a gleaming grin as the last of his life drained from them.
A low laugh escaped Alastor, he smiled in satisfaction, as he rose quickly and kicked the lifeless body on the ground one last time for good measure with the tip of his boot.
Franklin was dead.
"Rosie? Are you all right?" Alastor asked carefully.
"Yes, thanks to you... I am truly grateful, Alastor..." Rosie sniffled. She wiped the last of her tears away with the sleeve of her dress.
"I-I... I cannot fathom what I would have done without you. The fear was overwhelming, yet now you are here, and it seems as though all could be well once more..."
"Indeed, all shall be well," Alastor assured her.
His best friend looked up at him silently as he got down on his knees in front of her, regardless of the pool of blood. He cupped her cheeks with his bloody hands. "What should we do with his body now?" she wanted to know calmly. "I surely cannot bury Franklin in the flower garden. Would that not be the first place they would search?" She scrunched her nose up, still sniffling. "Moreover, I fear his decomposing remains would mar my roses..."
"Hm... Perhaps I am aware of a more covert method to ensure he 'vanishes'..." Alastor murmured, lost in his thoughts as the last tears escaped Rosie's eyes and the salt water mixed with the blood on her cheeks. Carefully, his fingertips wiped over her cheekbones. "Hm," he hummed with delight as he licked his bloody fingertips.
Suddenly the expression in Rosie's eyes changed, her gaze became hungry. Saliva collected in the corner of her mouth as her tongue licked over her lips. Her fingernails dug firmly into Alastor's flesh as her cold fingers wrapped around his wrist and she turned his palm towards her. Then slowly, her tongue began to lick over his bloodied hands.
"Are you still in possession of the recipe for jambalaya I shared with you, the one from my mother, my dearest Rosie?" Alastor asked.
"Yes, but the quantity of meat would be excessive for our consumption," Rosie added with a deep frown. She cast a cursory glance at the calendar on the kitchen wall. "We're lucky!" she said cheerfully. "Fortuitously, the elementary school is slated to host a summer festival this weekend. Franklin was to be the guest of honor, and the committee had requested I contribute a culinary dish or dessert. I had contemplated a cake, but jambalaya might indeed be more fitting."
"That's my brave dame," Alastor stated proudly as he helped his best friend to her feet and pulled her into a tight hug. Arm in arm, they stood embraced on the sill between the cold tiles and the warm pool of blood, dancing in small circles around each other, holding each other still and silent. Their hands found one another and their fingers intertwined. In the middle of the dawn, in the warm glow of the rising sun and the stone floor at their feet, they swayed gently to the music of a song that no one but they would ever hear. They hummed to the melody that the wailing wind sang for them alone. The horrors were forgotten and for the moment the storm completely ceased its rampage. "Now, take deep breaths, Rosie. I am here for you, you are not alone. Gather the pots and pans, and I shall retrieve the necessary tools from the shed."
"Don't we make one hell of a team, Alastor?"
"Indeed, my dearest Rosie!"
Background of the FNAF Chapter 9:People who will later become friends.
The next morning.
In the main hall of animatronics, except from the first part, they talked about the disappearance and appearance of people.
Mr. Hippo:Say that people saw someone who was unbalanced disappear and return to balanced.
Toy Freddy:Yes, while playing golf, we asked the man who met Freddie. He said that at first 12 people disappeared, if in more detail 6 men and 6 women, and then two teenagers.
Toy Bonnie:And they also talked about some kind of theater. That at first it was abandoned, and then they started going there.
Glam-rock Freddy:Clearly the city itself is mysterious.
Later, Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy come out of the hall with rooms, who decided to walk around the city together.
Freddy:Good morning, guys.
The rest of the animatronics:Good morning.
Bonnie:Has anything new appeared?
Toy Freddy:No, but we are just discussing that 2 teenagers somehow disappeared in this city and returned but balanced.
Foxy:Hmm, is there no villainy here? Otherwise we can move again.
Rockstar Freddy:No, these are the same people, their characters have just changed.
Freddy:It's clear. In general, the four of us decided to take a walk around the city. If you see a person asking for a birthday, talk to them yourself.
The rest of the animatronics:Okay.
They anointed each other and the four of them left the pizzeria. While they were walking near another part of the road where there was a fountain and a basketball court, Freddy thought about the man.
Freddy:Do you know? When we built a large pizzeria, I wanted a human friend.
Bonnie, Chica and Foxy:A human friend?
Bonnie:And what? I would also have a human friend to visit us when I'm not too busy.
Chica:Me too.
Foxy:So am I. Fredbear wouldn't mind it if it wasn't broken.
Freddy:I'll agree with that. How is he without us there?
Chica:(She saw something) Wow, watch the kids dance.
Freddy, Bonnie and Foxy:Wow.
On the other side of the road, where there is a fountain, 4 children were dancing. But we'll talk about two of them 😎.
One was a boy with fair skin, golden spiky hair and blue eyes. He had a blue patterned headband on his head. He was wearing a white shirt with a red three-button vest, black pants and blue-black sneakers.
The other was a fair-skinned girl with blonde hair with two ponytails. She was wearing a denim jacket, inside a red, pink T-shirt, black pants with green patterns and red sneakers. Her eyes were green and she had heart-shaped earrings in her ears.
These two danced breakdancing with the others.
Bonnie:They dance very well, I couldn't do it myself.
Foxy:Well, we are animatronics, and we are not capable of this.
Freddy:They have good talent anyway. Even if there was a child friend, we would have fun.
They continued walking through the city until they decided to look at the bulletin board.
Bonnie:(He noticed the poster "Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria") See our poster. (He noticed another poster with a picture of a white top hat with a red headband) Balan Wonderworld... the unusual name of the theater.
Chica:It still feels like the city already has a lot of unusual things.
Freddy:It is clear that the word "Balan" may be someone's name, but the world of miracles is a mystery.
Foxy:(He noticed someone) Just look at this unusual company.
Four animatronics looked at 12 people (Yea😎😎). Note:There will be more headcannons about their ages here.
The first was a farmer who was 32 years old. He wore a straw hat, had no hair, and had blue eyes. He was wearing a red shirt, denim pants with a pocket and brown shoes. He was wearing brown gloves in his hands.
The second was a purple-haired girl with red glasses, about 15 years old. She was wearing a white, red striped T-shirt and a dark purple jacket. She was wearing green shorts, white and red socks and purple sneakers. Her eyes were the color of brown.
The third was a girl about 17 years old. Her hair was brown with a ponytail and she had brown eyes with yellow eyelids. She was wearing a wetsuit, although she is not busy right now, and shoes with the colors gray, navy blue, blue and yellow.
The fourth was a boy about 15 years old. His hair was green, his eyes were brown and he wore pilot glasses. He was wearing a white hooded turtleneck and an orange sleeveless vest, green pants and white, orange sneakers.
The fifth was a black woman about 34 years old. Her hair was purple, gathered in a green headband with yellow and orange triangles and had blue eyes. She was wearing a light green T-shirt with orange and yellow triangles. She had jeans, brown sneakers and earrings on her ears.
The sixth was a dark-skinned firefighter with no hair and about 36 years old. His eyes were gray, the firefighter's clothes were gray and he wore black shoes.
The seventh was a young, ten-year-old girl with emerald eyes. Her short hair was also emerald and she had a red bow on her head. She wore a red, brown and white dress, brown tights and boots.
The eighth was a green-haired man about 18 years old with blue eyes. He wore a red and white clown costume. He had yellow gloves, dark red clown pants with shoes with yellow pompoms.
The ninth was a man with dark skin, about 37 years old. He had purple hair, turquoise eyes and had a protruding nose. He was wearing a yellow shirt, a grey jacket, a red tie, a black belt with grey trousers and brown shoes.
The tenth was a large woman about 35 years old. Her hair was crimson in a ponytail and she had red eyes. She wore a green dress with an artistic apron and emerald shoes.
The eleventh was a young girl of 18 years old. Her hair was blue in color and covered one eye, which was turquoise. She was wearing a grey T-shirt, a pink hooded jacket, blue shorts and purple sneakers. One of the fingers was wearing a ring.
And finally, the last one was an old man about 60 years old. He wore a dark gray hat, had light and dark gray hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a purple coat, grey trousers and brown shoes. He carried a brown cane on one hand.
Animatronics came up unnoticed to take a closer look at them. They hid behind the house.
Freddy:An unusual company.
Bonnie:Just like us, only there are more of us.
Suddenly, he accidentally fell on a trash can, which is why 12 people heard it. The animatronics immediately hid so as not to scare them and the people themselves noticed that no one was there.
Purple-haired man:Looks like we need to go somewhere else. What if it's some kind of enemy?
Twelve people left, and animatronics watched them as they left. They continued walking anyway, until they decided to stop by the beach and sat down on a bench.
Freddy:The city is really peaceful, like ours probably is. I hope that bad things won't force us to move somewhere.
Bonnie:If there was a Fredbear, he would also perform with us, even though it's time for the old to retire.
Freddy:Yes, but our lives are still getting better than when we met William. * But I'm wondering what's going to happen next*.
No matter how calm it sounds, after 2 days they were waiting for what they expected the most... meeting with the same people they saw during the problems.
To be continued...
gay Panera Bread date gone wrong! (there was blood!) (and slurs!) (not clickbait!)
@svwhssftr mandatory mako coparent tag come look at your well-behaved gentleman of a son
just some Sutton Valence-adjacent shenanigans for tonight after a long golf practice. it’s hard to explain but in the original Sutton Valence, characters who had children that were also major characters (like Gregory and Adam) were not seen as parents and children. like it was acknowledged that Gregory was technically his father, but it wasn’t the same person. bc that Gregory was not the same age. if that makes any sense. just keep that in mind
anyway! they’re so Ricky Montgomery coded I love them DEARRRLY i fear I have fangstitch brainrot. in my delulu hopeless romantic era. I also fear that it’s not a Sutton Valence excerpt without something oddly serious covered.
Tumblr media
“Crow, do you have any formal clothes?” Mako anxiously slid the hangers of his cramped wardrobe as he brushed through his collection of nicer clothing.
“Nothing that would fit you.” Crow crossed his legs as he mashed the buttons of his Switch. “Where are you two going, anyway?”
“Panera.”
“Panera?” Crow repeated as he paused his play-through of Deltarune to stare at Mako, mouth agape. “You’re asking me for formal clothes for a date at Panera?”
“I don’t have anything!” Mako exclaimed. “I mean, he’s a big fashion guy. What if I wear something entirely inappropriate?”
“I can guarantee you that formal attire at Panera Bread would be entirely inappropriate,” Crow said.
“What do you think I should wear, then?” Mako sighed.
“I don’t know, man. I’m a fan of the collared shirt and sweatshirt combo, personally. It never misses.”
“Collared shirt,” Mako repeated, standing on the tip of his toes as he swung the metal tops of his hangers. “Nice sweatshirt.”
Meanwhile, Gale adjusted the button of his shirt as he puffed out his hair in his bathroom mirror. It was a simple ensemble. Mako liked simple, right? Did it really matter, in the long run? He already agreed to their date.
“Kai, you’ve been going out with Noeul for a while, right?” Gale asked, propping open the bathroom door with his foot.
“Something like that.” Kai dramatically stretched himself over his bed. “Why do you ask?”
“How often do you go on dates?” Gale asked.
“Never,” Kai responded. “Why would we do that gay shit?”
Gale cocked his head. “Because you want to further your relationship and understanding of each other?”
“I think we understand each other perfectly fine.”
“I guess we’re just different.” Gale habitually picked at his cuticles, chipping his bronze nail polish.
“Thank God,” Kai sneered, staring at the popcorn ceiling.
“Can I borrow your blue sweatshirt?” Gale asked. “I’ll be careful with it.”
“It’s going to swallow you whole, but sure,” Kai said. “Just don’t get, like, cum or shit on it.”
“Huh?” Gale said, his head craning around the door.
“You heard me, Porter. Just don’t get freaky with your boy toy on my vintage Alexander McQueen, and we’ll be fine.”
“That’s vintage McQueen?” Gale asked, his eyes widening. “And you never told me?”
“It never came up.” Kai shrugged.
“I might have to borrow it more often,” Gale said under his breath.
“Where are you going, anyway?” Kai asked.
“The little Panera down the street.”
“Panera?” Kai laughed. “God, you are a faggot.”
“It’s cozy! They have good soups!”
“You are a pansy,” Kai cackled.
“You’ve shagged significantly more men than I have, Shirogane.” Gale narrowed his eyes as he tucked Kai’s sweatshirt into his khaki pants.
“Shagged?” Kai said. “What, am I some kind of rug?”
Gale rolled his eyes. “You should be more familiar with British slang by now.”
“And you should be more familiar with some dick by now.”
“I’m not interested in his… manly bits… right now-“
“What the fuck?” Kai cried.
“What?”
“Why do you talk like that all the time?” Kai asked. “‘His manly bits.’ This has to be a joke.”
“Welcome to Britain, Kai! Sorry, we have dignity and a healthy relationship with sex.”
“You clearly don’t have a healthy relationship with sex.”
“I don’t have a boyfriend who sleeps with Sonnet Chea behind my back.”
Kai blinked. “That’s not true, Gale.”
“It most certainly is true!”
“I know Noeul fucks Sonnet. I just don’t care.”
“Oh.” Gale’s voice cracked.
“I’m just saying, you should loosen up a little,” Kai said. “Learn to take a joke, man.”
“Your jokes aren’t very funny,” Gale said, grabbing his bag and wallet from a hook on their door.
“They get me good dick,” Kai said. “What do your nonexistent jokes get you, Gale?”
“A boyfriend who actually gives two shits about me.” Gale stiffly smiled as he closed the door and headed down the hall to meet Mako.
As Gale traversed the halls, Mako’s eyes were locked on his bedside alarm clock.
“Does it look okay?” he asked, his voice wavering. “I think it looks okay.”
“You look great, dude.” Crow awkwardly patted Mako’s back. “I think the blue sweatshirt and khaki pants complement each other.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
“I’m nervous.” Mako fidgeted with the shark keychain dangling from his wallet. “I’ve never been on a date before. I think he really likes me, and I don’t want to fuck up-“
“If someone somehow doesn’t like you, then they’re the problem,” Crow said, instinctively adjusting the chain of Mako’s paperclip necklace. “Gale seems like a good guy. Just have fun.”
“Do my teeth look weird?”
“As fucked-up as always.” Crow smiled.
“Perfect.” Mako confidently grinned as he swung open the door of his dorm room. His face dropped as he saw Gale across the hall. Gale waved at him, and Mako slammed the door.
“Crow, what do I do?” Mako exclaimed.
“What’s wrong?” Crow had just returned to his game, so he was moderately annoyed.
“We’re wearing the same exact outfit.”
“You’re what?”
“I saw him down the hall. It’s the exact same. Blue sweatshirt, collared shirt, khakis.”
Crow burst out laughing. “Are you serious?”
“This isn’t funny, Crow!”
“You’re right, this is hilarious. Open the door, let me get a picture of you two.”
“Absolutely not-“
Gale managed to knock on the door twice before Crow aggressively opened it, slamming it directly into Gale’s nose.
“Ah!” Gale shortly screamed, curling over to shield his nose with his hands.
“Oh, fuck,” Crow whispered. “Gale, I’m so sorry, man-“
“No, I’m okay!” Gale nasally confirmed. “It’s not that bad, I promise.”
Gale removed his hands to reveal a stream of blood pouring from his right nostril.
“Oh my god, are you okay?” Mako gasped.  “I’m so sorry, Crow’s such an asshole.”
“Hey!” Crow snapped.
“No, I’m fine!” Gale laughed. “This happens sometimes. Nosebleeds, I mean. Do you have any tissues?”
“I got some from Crow’s desk. Here.” Mako shoved a wad of tissues into Gale’s face.
“Wait, are we wearing the same outfit?” Gale murmured through a glob of bloody tissues.
“Yeah, I think we are,” Mako laughed, his face bright red.
“Smile!” Crow perched atop his bed with a digital camera and excitedly waved at the couple. He did not wait for them to smile. Instead, he caught a candid shot of Gale wiping blood from above his lip and Mako looking incredibly pissed at him.
“I think I’m okay,” Gale confirmed, tilting his head down and admiring himself in Mako’s mirror. Blood no longer stained his upper lip.
Crow threw a black hoodie at Mako. “This is the hoodie we agreed to get at the Ricky Montgomery show. I’ve hoarded it for long enough. You can finally wear it.”
“Is it clean?” Mako asked.
“Dubiously.”
Mako shrugged. “It should be fine.”
Crow couldn’t help but notice Gale staring off at his quilted throw as Mako got changed. It was nice to witness some form of respect as opposed to the raging horniness he was accustomed to seeing.
“I should be ready to go,” Mako said, taking Gale’s hand. A warm flush crept across Gale’s cheeks.
“Oh, yeah. Yeah, I’m ready, too,” Gale said.  Mako reached to open their door.
“Y’all be safe,” Crow called, doing his best impression of the Kentuckians he had grown to know and love.
“Take care, now,” Mako replied in an equally horrific Southern accent.
“You’re learning!” Crow excitedly clapped.
“Never say that again,” Gale said, leaning into Mako. With that, the duo embarked on their romantic first date at the local Panera Bread.
Hi marte, sorry for the really stupid question but I was reading quote tweets on twitter of a photo of harry and some comments were saying he looked straight. I've seen it a few times and it's usually from fans but there was a tweet that went viral about him looking straight and the comments were mixed, there were people saying he only dresses gay for performing but other comments were defending him saying that he was at a football game so of course he wasn't going to wear anything fancy. So my stupid question is why does he look straight and what is it that makes him look straighter than compared to like a year ago? what has he done to look more straight and do you think it's intentional?
Hi, anon!
You're not asking stu*id questions, you're just curious about other people's perception of Harry and Harry's image.
There are behaviour, traits, mannerisms and looks that make up the queer or gay stereotype. If you want to signal that you're queer or gay, you usually do something or adopt a look that fits that stereotype, also called queercoding. Harry has queercoded since the early days of 1D, but he's queercoded a lot more and been a lot more explicit now that he's a solo artist. The issue is that the queercoding only happens when he's on stage, on a red carpet or in promo mode. Outside of that he tones it down.
Harry has always had curls and long or longish hair. It makes him look soft and more feminine which is more aligned with queer stereotypes. So when Harry shaved his hair and now that he's growing it out again, it looks more masculine. He's currently got no curls and a hair cut that's seen in 3 out of 5 men. Paired with facial hair and a less boyish look, because he's aged, it makes him look more straight. In addition, we're used to seeing him wear very flamboyant looks with vibrant patterns or colours. Lately he's been wearing very subdued and conventional clothes, lots of dark blue and black. He's lost the flair. To top all this off he's been frequenting hyper-masculine spaces and blending in with straight looking men. A football match and now golfing.
A year ago he'd go to casual events with beige corduroy high waist pants with bellbottoms paired with a soft pale yellow wool cardigan. He'd have a little hairclip in his hair to keep it off his face and he'd maybe carry a purse. He'd have some fancy looking sunglasses and wear a pearl necklace. And of course his rings. Now we're getting pictures like this of him.
Tumblr media
Arms crossed, brows furrowed in consentration, a buttoned up shirt and regular RayBans. He looks naked without his rings on his fingers. If he's going to go from this to an open sparkly vest on stage when performing and a put on flamboyant persona, the queerbaiting accusations will amplify. It won't be good.
Tumblr media
Do you see the difference?
I have noticed him looking suspiciously straight since his tour ended, moreso than he's ever looked. I don't know if it means anything, but we are a bunch of people who have noticed it and commented on it. He has been in hyper-masculine spaces though, and been pictured there. So maybe that's why he's not queercoding. Is the straight look and behaviour intentional? I don't know. Is him frequenting hyper-masculine spaces in public intentional to affirm a straight image? Possibly. Is this look and behaviour more aligned with the real him? Maybe. We have to see what he chooses to do when promo starts.
March TC Challenge
Doing another one of these because I reallyyyy want to talk about him <3
Here's the original post
If you could change one thing about your tc, physical or personality wise, what would it be?
The fact that he's married-
No, I'm kidding. Uhhhhh I'm really not sure
2. Are they "your type", or was falling for a person like them completely unexpected?
He's definitely my type, both physically and personality wise. He has dark hair and eyes, which is something I'm attracted to in most men for whatever reason, and he's incredibly smart, goofy, and kind, which I like as well.
3. If they were an ice cream flavor, what would they be?
Not me sitting here trying to remember what kind he likes-
For whatever reason, mint chocolate chip is giving me the same vibes he does (and no, it's not my favorite flavor)
4. Imagine you have a whole weekend to spend with your tc. What would you guys do?
*insert "oh my goodness I love this question!!!!" here*
If it was platonic, I'd do whatever he'd want to do. (I'm assuming his wife and children are out of town or something in this scenario) We could literally sit at his house and listen to music without speaking and I'd be perfectly content. He'd probably end up telling me stories or teaching me something, and I'd eat it up with a fork and knife. He could take me sailing, make me watch all the Star Wars movies, or lay on the couch and take a nap, and I'd be happy.
If it was romantic, hooooooo boy. I'd want to go on a romantic get away, maybe rent a cabin in the mountains or a house by the beach. Somewhere far enough away that neither one of us would run into anyone we know (so we could act like a couple). I'm personally not the biggest beach lover, but for him, I'd sit on the sand all day (he LOVES the beach). We could go out to dinner, go to cute shops if we're in a small town, and drive around just enjoying each other's company. Is it obvious that my love language is quality time? I'd want to dance with him and stay up late doing stupid shit and run around on the beach at night like we're in a movie.
5. What's their biggest talent?
I'm not 100% sure, he's talented at a lot of things. But right now, I think it's being a father.
6. Be honest: would you guys be a power couple or not?
Okay I'm a little bit biased here, but I really think so. We have so much in common, sometimes I feel like I'm looking at the older male version of myself. I'd love to be his girlfriend and have him teach me everything he knows about the world.
7. If they knew about your feelings, would they confront you about it or ignore it?
I don't know. I feel like he might already know, and if he does, he hasn't said anything about it. He says some things that maybe hint at it, but never anything outright.
8. Are they a good singer?
I've only ever heard him sing nursery rhymes, but I'd say his voice is fine. I'm definitely not someone who should be critiquing another person's singing voice lol
9. If you could choose an outfit that your tc had to wear every single day, what would it look like?
Black dress pants, a white button up shirt (with the sleeves rolled up, iykyk), a black blazer, a heavy wrist watch, and black wingtips.
10. Are they more academic, artistic, or athletic? What about you?
He's a nice mix of all three. As previously mentioned, he's incredibly intelligent, but he's also really creative and good at artistic things. He played golf and another sport I can't remember, and the way he talks about it, it sounds like he was pretty good.
I'm 90% academic and 10% athletic. I grew up playing sports, but always hated them. I was told I was athletic but never really cared lol.
11. Do they inspire you as a person?
Yes. I hope that if/when I become a mom, I'm even just half as good at parenting as he is.
12. Are they an early riser or a night owl?
He's a night owl forced to be an early riser
13. Have you ever made each other angry or upset? If so, how did you reconcile?
Not that I know of
14. Do you ever find yourself imitating them, either consciously or subconsciously?
No
15. What do you think their love language is? What's yours?
I think his is probably either acts of service or quality time. My main one is quality time but it's physical touch only when I'm *super* comfortable with someone.
16. Have they taught you anything that isn't school related? Valuable life lessons, insights on how you feel about yourself, etc?
Mmm some of the "life lessons" he's subconsciously taught me are probably questionable things to teach a teenager (cheating on his homework while he was in school, things to do with law enforcement, etc) but he's also taught me some good ones. He told me the other day that I do too much work and stress myself out. I kinda already knew that, but it was nice to hear. Without ever uttering these words, he's shown/told me that life gets better. He and I have a lot of the same mental health issues, and to see him with a full time job, being a parent, and still having fun in life makes me feel a little better about my future.
17. What would they have to do to make you lose feelings for them?
Ooohh this is a tough one. I think when it comes to most people, I try to justify their actions with "compassion" or "logic". Like if someone screamed at me, I might just think that I either did something super wrong, they were having an off day, they took their feelings out on me, etc. So for the majority of things I could think of that he would do, I'd approach it what that thought process. But if I heard him saying something bad about women, or saying something discriminatory, that would do it for me. He never would, but if he did, my feelings would probably be gone instantly.
18. Are they introverted or extroverted? What about you?
We're both introverts :)
19. Who's more likely to start rambling about their interests while the other listens?
Him, 100%. It's happened a lot 😅
20. Do you feel guilty about having feelings for your tc?
So guilty. Nothing's happened, but I still feel like a home wrecker
21. Are you insecure about them liking another student more than you?
Yeah, tbh. I love the way he talks to me, and it would break my heart if I saw him doing the same to someone else.
22. What kind of hairstyle would you like to see them in?
A grown out version of what he has now. He always gets it cut so short, I think he'd look great if it grew to be around his ears (his hair is curly and I KNOW it would be so cute and fluffy if it got long)
23. Do you think they trust you?
He's explicitly told me several times that he does ♡ The first time, it was a heartfelt speech and I almost cried fklshdfkjhsdf
24. What's the most comedic moment that's occurred between you two?
I'm not sure there's been just one. We laugh a lot and he always makes jokes with me.
25. Have you ever drawn them or written about them to vent your feelings?
Written about them, yes. I mean, hello. But I can't draw for shit so
26. How do you feel when you're around them? Are you so nervous that you can't concentrate, or do you just feel happy that you get to spend time with them?
It's a little bit of both. Sometimes I forget to listen to what he's saying because I'm too busy admiring him. Other times I'm so self conscious of how I look in the moment to listen. But most of the time, I'm just so happy he's around and that I get to spend a little bit of my day with him ☺️
27. Do you guys have any inside jokes?
The fact that I told him he was a ladies' man once and maybe something one of us said casually but I can't think of them right now
28. Do their morals, principles, or political views align with yours?
Political views, yes. He surprises me with how "woke" he is sometimes. Mostly yes for morals and principles. He's told me some things he's done that I personally wouldn't do, but they're really small, so
29. Have you ever tried to get over them?
Once a week I decide I'm going to get over him and it only lasts for a few hours
30. If someone nice your age showed up in your life and you caught feelings for them, would you move on from your tc?
That's kind of a hard question. I want to say yes, but I've never been in a relationship and don't think I'm really ready for one. Crushing on S is safe. I do genuinely like him, and if he wasn't married and made a move on me, there's a chance I'd act on it. But if a guy my age came along and we both had feelings for each other, I think I'd probably panic. I like having a crush, and I like the idea of people, but the reality just makes me too nervous.
31. Have you ever said or done something that, in hindsight, might have been hurtful to them? Have they ever done the same to you?
I mentioned it on the inside joke question, but I called him a ladies' man once. At the time, he laughed it off and I thought it was no big deal. A few weeks later, he started a story with "Don't slut shame me but-" and I was super confused. I asked him why in the world he'd think I'd do that, and he said "Oh, you know, that thing you said". He played it off as a joke, but I think it might have actually hurt his feelings. I feel so bad about it.
As for me, he's done quite a few things that have been hurtful. When we first met, he made my life more difficult. Not on purpose, but he saw the consequences of his actions and kept doing what he was doing. He's said some things that have made me feel stupid, and like he thinks of me as a kid, which hurts. I know that none of these things have been intentional, but it still affected me a little bit.
Mature PA Fashion Archetype: The Editor
Considering some of my inspiration was 13 going on 30, I don't know if this is "Mature" but we vibe!
The Editor, inspired by The Devil Wears Prada, Ugly Betty, and 13 Going On 30. Of course, this is inspired by the fashion girly dreams of “the Chanel boots” like either Andy Sachs of Luke Skywalker, to your preference. But the fashion world is evolving to include new names, and the fashion girlies online are thrift-flipping queens. My goal is to balance both. You know this one is long because I actully remembered the Keep Reading for once:
Thrifty Girly
Slipdresses, camisoles, sleepwear as daywear- I’m not breaking new ground by pointing this one out, but the silky, sexy styling of a nightgown can range from Kate Bush- who has had a resurgence since last year- to Andy Sachs. If you were a stan of Ashley AKA bestdressed a few years ago, then you’ll know how cute these are.
Contrast. Combine garments regrdless of the gender that its intended for, wear princessy, fluffy skirts with a harness and combat boots, and clash your patterns against each other. The way to go is my making something about the outfit uniform to keep it cohesive, typically a colour-scheme.
Flipping- thrift-flips involve a bit of craftiness- take that plain t-shirt for 50p and some fabric markers, embroidery thread, patches, etc. Take a dress you like in at the waist, crop a men’s blazer etc. The key is finding what you like and perfecting it to your taste.
Emulating Designers
An article by JD Institute of Fashion Technlogy called the following the Top 10 Fashion Designers of All Time, so I picked 5 examples from that list! These aren’t necesarily my favourites, they were just a reference point.
Coco Chanel: to me, a Chanel look is black and white, potentially with a vibrant, candy-coloured pastel here or there, but I always think of black and white. Details include pearls, especially pearl buttons, a quilted bag, perhaps a bow, and the interlocking Cs.
Calvin Klein: I think of Back to the Future before I think of anything else, and I’m not a £50 t-shirt person… BUT, to emmulate Calvin Klein, you’ll need good quality denim, and a crisp, clean, probabaly white t-shirt. The style is very much basics, so to make it stand out without the branding, you’ll need them to be good-quality and well-fitting.
Donatella Versace: The New Arrivals section on the website is covered in slashes- all along the sides on some garments, across the chest in others- or deep cowls- like, to the navel. Cut-out details can be emmulated as modestly as a simple cold-shoulder, or go all the way. A deep V can go as high or as low as you like. I’m seeing mostly black, with some purple and bright pink.
Ralph Lauren: I think of a very preppy, classic, menswear look when I think of Ralph Lauren. This is what you wear to play golf on a superyacht, or whatever it is that rich people do… strong-coloured linen shirts, navy and white, and I’m seeing so many stong-contrasting stripes. I’m also seeing a lot of leather braided belts, which might not be the first thing you think of, but it adds to the nautical vibes.
Christian Dior: Dior invented the New Look, so you know that’s where I’m going on. That original outfit consisted of a long black skirt to the mid-calf and a white blazer that tapered in at the waist. You need that fifties dream skirt to really go classic, and I think to this day the deliver dresses that emphasise an hourglass shape.
The Ultimate Guide to Ladies Golf Wear: Comfort, Style, and Performance on the Green
Introduction
Golf is a sport of precision, focus, and finesse, but what you wear can also have a significant impact on your game. For women, finding the perfect balance between comfort, functionality, and style in golf apparel is key. Ladies’ golf wear has evolved significantly over the years, blending technical advancements with fashion-forward designs to cater to both professional golfers and casual players alike. This guide will help you navigate the essentials of ladies’ golf wear, from selecting the right fabric to understanding dress codes and exploring the latest trends.
The Importance of Comfortable and Functional Golf Wear
When it comes to ladies' golf wear, comfort and function should be the top priority. A round of golf can last several hours, and it's essential to wear clothing that allows you to move freely without restriction. Here are key factors to consider when choosing your golf outfit:
Fabric Choice
Look for moisture-wicking fabrics like polyester, spandex blends, or microfiber. These materials draw sweat away from your skin, keeping you dry and comfortable during your game. Breathability is also important, particularly on hot days. Fabrics with ventilation features, such as mesh panels or lightweight weaves, promote airflow and help regulate body temperature.
Fit and Flexibility
Your golf wear should allow for a full range of motion, especially around the shoulders, arms, and waist. Look for shirts, tops, and dresses that are cut to provide ample stretch, so you can swing with ease. Golf skirts, shorts, and trousers should fit snugly but not too tightly, allowing you to bend, stretch, and walk without discomfort.
Weather Adaptability
Golf is played in various weather conditions, so it's important to be prepared with the right attire. In cooler climates, layering is key. Choose base layers like long-sleeve tops or thermal shirts that retain heat without being too bulky. Add a lightweight windbreaker or waterproof jacket for protection from the elements. In warm weather, sleeveless tops and lightweight skirts or shorts will help keep you cool.
Key Elements of Ladies Golf Wear
Golf Shirts and Tops
Golf shirts, often referred to as polo shirts, are a staple in any golfer’s wardrobe. Traditional designs feature a collar and button placket, though more contemporary styles may incorporate zippers or even a mock turtleneck design. Look for shirts made from stretchable, breathable materials, like polyester blends, and those with UV protection are an added bonus for long days in the sun.
Golf Skirts and Shorts
Golf skirts (also known as skorts) and shorts are popular choices for warmer days. Skorts provide the feminine look of a skirt while offering the practicality of built-in shorts. Most golf skirts have pockets, which are essential for storing tees, markers, or gloves. Choose skirts that are flexible and offer a modest length that meets course dress codes.
Golf Trousers and Capris
For those who prefer more coverage, golf trousers and capris are an excellent option. They offer a polished, professional look while still providing comfort. Opt for trousers with stretch fabric that accommodates your movements, especially in the knee and hip areas. Capris, which fall just below the knee, are ideal for warmer climates while still offering some coverage.
Outerwear
Golf outerwear is essential for unpredictable weather conditions. Lightweight jackets, vests, and pullovers offer warmth and protection without restricting your movement. Waterproof jackets are particularly useful on rainy days, while windproof jackets can provide extra comfort on windy courses. Always opt for outerwear that is easy to layer and remove, so you can adjust as the weather changes.
Golf Shoes
Your golf shoes are as important as your clothing. Comfort is paramount since you’ll be walking for hours. Modern golf shoes are designed with advanced materials that offer grip, stability, and cushioning. For ladies, golf shoes come in spiked and spikeless varieties. Spiked shoes offer better traction on wet or hilly courses, while spikeless options are more versatile and can be worn off the course as well.
Understanding Golf Course Dress Codes
Most golf courses, especially private clubs, enforce a dress code. While it varies by location, here are general guidelines to follow when selecting your outfit:
Shirts: Collared shirts are often mandatory. Avoid wearing tank tops or T-shirts unless explicitly allowed.
Bottoms: Shorts, skirts, and trousers are acceptable, but they should be of appropriate length (usually just above the knee). Avoid denim and workout leggings.
Shoes: Closed-toe golf shoes or sneakers are required. Flip-flops or sandals are typically prohibited.
Always check the course’s dress code policy before arriving to ensure you are appropriately dressed.
Ladies Golf Wear Trends
Golf fashion for women has come a long way. Today’s golf apparel seamlessly blends performance and style. Some of the latest trends include:
Bold Prints and Patterns
From floral prints to geometric designs, bold patterns are making their mark in ladies’ golf wear. These eye-catching designs not only allow you to express your personality but also stand out on the course.
Bright Colors
Bright hues like neon pinks, greens, and blues are trending in both tops and bottoms. These lively colors add a fresh, fun element to traditional golf attire.
Athleisure-Inspired Golf Wear
As athleisure becomes more popular in everyday fashion, it's also influencing golf wear. Stretchy fabrics, sleek designs, and a more relaxed fit characterize this trend, making it easier for women to transition from the golf course to casual outings without changing outfits.
Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Fabrics
Sustainability is becoming a key focus in the fashion industry, and golf wear is no exception. Brands are starting to offer eco-friendly options made from recycled materials and sustainable practices, allowing you to play your game while reducing your environmental footprint.
Top Brands for Ladies Golf Wear
There are numerous brands dedicated to creating high-quality, stylish ladies’ golf wear. Some of the top brands include:
Nike Golf: Known for its blend of performance and style, Nike offers a wide range of golf apparel for women, from polo shirts to outerwear, all designed to optimize comfort and movement.
Adidas Golf: Adidas is another leading name in golf wear, offering innovative designs with moisture-wicking fabrics, UV protection, and sleek, fashionable looks.
Under Armour: Under Armour is famed for its high-performance fabrics, offering ladies’ golf wear that ensures flexibility, breathability, and all-weather protection.
Tail Activewear: Tail focuses on stylish, fashion-forward designs that don't sacrifice functionality. Their vibrant prints and modern silhouettes are popular among female golfers.
Puma Golf: Puma's golf wear for women combines modern design with comfort and performance, offering bright colors, flattering fits, and technical fabrics.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What should I wear for my first round of golf as a beginner? For your first round, comfort is key. Opt for a breathable collared shirt, flexible trousers or shorts, and golf shoes. Be sure to check the dress code of the course beforehand.
Can I wear leggings on the golf course? This depends on the course. Some relaxed or public courses may allow leggings, but most private clubs prefer more traditional bottoms like golf trousers or skirts. It's best to check with the course before arriving.
Do I need to wear special golf shoes? While not mandatory for beginners, investing in a good pair of golf shoes will improve your traction and stability during the game. If you’re just starting, comfortable athletic shoes are acceptable on most courses.
How do I keep cool on the course during summer? Choose lightweight, moisture-wicking fabrics for your top and bottoms. Opt for sleeveless shirts and shorts or skirts to increase ventilation. A sun hat and UV-protective clothing are also good choices for hot weather.
What outerwear should I bring for colder weather? Layering is important in colder conditions. Start with a thermal or long-sleeve base layer, add a sweater or fleece, and finish with a waterproof or windproof jacket. Look for outerwear that doesn’t restrict movement and is easy to remove as the weather warms up.
Conclusion
Ladies’ golf wear has come a long way, offering a combination of fashion, functionality, and comfort for players of all levels. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, the right golf apparel can improve your performance and enhance your experience on the course. By selecting the appropriate fabrics, paying attention to fit, and following the dress code, you'll not only look your best but also feel confident and comfortable while playing. As the game of golf continues to grow, so too does the variety of stylish and practical options for ladies golf wear, ensuring that you can make a statement both on and off the green.
 Layering for Cooler Days
During cooler weather, layer your Color Block Polo under a bomber jacket or a cardigan. This not only keeps you warm but also adds an extra layer of style. Choose neutral-colored outerwear to let the colors of the polo stand out.
The Ultimate Guide to T-Shirts: Style, Selection, and Sustainability
Introduction
In the realm of casual fashion, the T-shirt holds an unparalleled position. This humble piece of clothing has evolved from a basic undergarment to a wardrobe staple that transcends age, gender, and occasion. In this comprehensive guide, we explore everything you need to know about T-shirts—from their history and types to tips on selection and sustainable choices. Our goal is to provide you with detailed insights that will help you make informed decisions when purchasing your next favorite T-shirt.
A Brief History of T-Shirts
Origins and Evolution
The T-shirt's journey began in the late 19th century as an undergarment worn by men. It wasn't until the 1950s, with icons like Marlon Brando and James Dean sporting them in movies, that T-shirts became a symbol of youthful rebellion and individuality. Over the decades, T-shirts have undergone numerous transformations, becoming a canvas for artistic expression, political statements, and brand promotion.
Types of T-Shirts
Basic T-Shirts
Basic T-shirts are the cornerstone of any wardrobe. They come in various cuts, such as crew neck, V-neck, and scoop neck. These shirts are typically made from cotton or a cotton blend, offering comfort and versatility.
Graphic T-Shirts
Graphic T-shirts feature designs, logos, or messages printed on the fabric. They are an excellent way to express your personality, support a cause, or showcase your favorite bands and brands.
Henley T-Shirts
Henley T-shirts are distinguished by their buttoned placket beneath the neckline. They offer a casual yet slightly more refined look compared to standard T-shirts, making them suitable for a variety of occasions.
Polo T-Shirts
Polo T-shirts, characterized by their collars and buttoned necklines, straddle the line between casual and semi-formal. They are often associated with sports like tennis and golf but are equally at home in smart-casual settings.
Long-Sleeve T-Shirts
Long-sleeve T-shirts provide additional coverage and warmth, making them ideal for cooler weather. They come in various styles, from fitted to loose, and can be layered for added style and functionality.
Performance T-Shirts
Designed with athletes in mind, performance T-shirts are made from moisture-wicking materials that keep you dry and comfortable during physical activities. They often incorporate features like UV protection and anti-odor technology.
Choosing the Right T-Shirt
Material Matters
The fabric of a T-shirt plays a crucial role in its comfort, durability, and overall feel. Cotton is the most popular choice due to its softness and breathability. Other materials include polyester, which offers moisture-wicking properties, and blends like cotton-polyester, which combine the best attributes of both.
Fit and Size
The fit of a T-shirt can significantly impact your appearance and comfort. Common fits include slim, regular, and relaxed. When choosing the right size, consider your body shape and personal preference. A well-fitted T-shirt should neither be too tight nor too loose.
Color and Design
T-shirts come in an endless array of colors and designs. Neutral colors like white, black, and grey are versatile and timeless. Bold colors and patterns can make a statement and add variety to your wardrobe. When selecting a design, think about your style and the message you want to convey.
Occasion Appropriateness
Consider the occasion when choosing a T-shirt. Basic and polo T-shirts are suitable for casual and smart-casual events, while graphic and performance T-shirts are better for relaxed settings and athletic activities, respectively.
Sustainable T-Shirt Choices
Organic Cotton
Organic cotton is grown without harmful pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, making it a more environmentally friendly option. T-shirts made from organic cotton are not only better for the planet but also for your skin.
Recycled Materials
Recycled materials, such as recycled polyester, reduce waste and the need for virgin resources. T-shirts made from recycled fibers offer similar performance and durability as those made from new materials.
Fair Trade and Ethical Brands
Supporting brands that prioritize fair trade practices ensures that the workers involved in the production process are paid fair wages and work in safe conditions. Look for certifications like Fair Trade and B Corp when shopping for ethical T-shirts.
Caring for Your T-Shirts
Washing Tips
To prolong the life of your T-shirts, follow the care instructions on the label. Generally, washing in cold water and avoiding high heat in the dryer can prevent shrinkage and fading. Using a gentle detergent and avoiding bleach will keep the fabric in good condition.
Storage Advice
Proper storage can also extend the lifespan of your T-shirts. Fold them neatly and store them in a cool, dry place. Hanging T-shirts can lead to stretching, especially at the shoulders.
Conclusion
The T-shirt is more than just a piece of clothing—it's a reflection of personal style, values, and comfort. By understanding the different types of T-shirts, knowing how to choose the right one, and considering sustainable options, you can make better fashion choices that benefit both you and the environment. Whether you're dressing for a casual day out, hitting the gym, or making a statement, the perfect T-shirt is out there waiting for you.
