It may help to understand human affairs to be clear that most of the great triumphs and tragedies of history are caused, not by people being fundamentally good or fundamentally bad, but by people being fundamentally people.

"Cotillon balls, people would gather and do some formal dancing and then REALIZE THEY MISUNDERSTOOD EACH OTHER and were actually deeply in love"
I mean... there was a rather large misunderstanding at the very end there... maybe... just maybe

After 75 days of studying French on Duolingo, I realized I can say:
"Tu n'as pas une tante, elle n'a pas un jardinier, et il n'a pas un stylo!"
AKA, "You don't have an aunt, she doesn't have a gardener, and he doesn't have a pen!"
Oh how I wish I was an ethereal being who knows all languages instead of having to learn them "the hard way". 😅
To native French speakers, I apologize for butchering your language and am 100% open to correction so I can improve.
I think I saw a post somewhere pointing out Crowley got the gender of the gardener wrong in replying to Aziraphale, implying even though he "knows" French he made the mistake because he simply doesn't grasp the concept of gender?

“‘I just…I thought you might like to come back, one day,’ Crowley said very quietly. Aziraphale’s foot pressed against his again, and Crowley drew in a sudden breath, as if he hadn’t been breathing properly since Aziraphale had stopped touching him.”
This piece was a commission from the lovely @fellshish for their lovely friend, @alphacentaurinebula ‘s fic What Are You Doing Here? This fic is cute, funny, heartwarming, and incredibly spicy, and I’m very much looking forward to finishing it! Thank you Fells for being wonderful to work with, and happy (belated) birthday to you Alphacentauri, I’m very happy I could do this for you!
