(Abandoned) WIP Wednesday

So I never actually finished this (or wrote the things meant to come after,) but I still like it so I figured I'd post it. Ra'zhirr was from my last rp file, he's a MASSIVE khajit (to me, not that ingame models agree,) escaped gladiator (which is why he was caught at the border,) and WAS going to be Harbinger but I decided it would make more since if the Companions just. Shattered. After the truth came out. Cause half of them already had issues with the Circle, then come to find out it's some exclusive werewolf club? Nah, they're out.

Anyway I put off ever actually starting the main questline til after doing the Companions bc that progression made more sense to me, so I just pretended the whole "hey can I talk to you about the whole dragon thing, go talk to Farengar" thing didn't happen, you know, to some rando walking through the door the Jarl doesn't even know.

Also this post was partially just so I could tag @incorrectskyrimquotes in wip Wednesday. Hiii :) no pressure <3

At the Turn of the Season

He hadn't expected to return to the great hall, to climb those steps misted by the waterfalls of Whiterun and feel the heavy doors beneath his hands once again. All things considered, it was a decent enough day to be summoned: without heavy winds the sun was warm, and his feet had nowhere else to be.

Not now that the Companions had nearly unanimously agreed to disband, fractured by the truth of Hircine’s blood and the realization they'd been lied to. They will do well enough, Ra'zhirr told himself as he crossed the threshold. There's nothing more for it.

The hall was as grand as he remembered, dark browns and gentle yellows and tall, looming beams leading to the balconies. Quiet conversation stopped as he closed the door behind him and the guards posted nearby both nodded, then relaxed, resuming their quiet chatter as he stepped away. Something so massive should give him pause, he thought idly; something so empty should feel wrong. Large and empty rarely went well together, but the welcoming air and decor set him at ease once again as he mounted the steps.

He'd received summons the night before, sitting idly on the steps to Jorrvaskr. The agreement had just been reached, and most had been quick to gather their things and depart. Some still lingered, and it was for their sake, he'd told himself, that he yet remained. Stars had been shining when a woman approached with a message, armor shining new and untattered as she said the Jarl wished to see him the following morning.

So here he was, drifting the same as the rest of them, following whatever voice next called. The fire blazed in its recess, chasing away the darkness and the cold, and he and the Jarl locked eyes through floating embers.

The hall was empty, Ra’zhirr noted, and the surrounding doors closed. His chest hollowed with a dread he kept firmly from showing as he halted before the steps to the throne, bowing his head as was expected.

Grey-green eyes swept over him for a moment. “I hear you were to be Harbinger,” Balgruuf greeted quietly. His posture was straighter than it had been last time: he sat regally in his chair, looking down, and this, too, stirred dread in him.

“A decision has been reached,” Ra'zhirr replied. “The Companions are to be no more.”

“Daedra worship is not permitted. Doubly so within the city.”

Ah. The Jarl's voice was hard, a threatening warning that spoke ill. Of course the secret had gotten out: anyone who'd heard of the Silver Hand could guess at why they'd attacked the longhouse, killed the Harbinger and maimed who they could before being slaughtered. Word had, however, been quickly contained–warriors were those who would recognize the signs, and warriors would obey the demands of Balgruuf and the guard–but whispers reach far. It had not been an easy trip for those who had left the city gates, whether they'd possessed the blood or not.

I am within rights to have you all hunted down and jailed,” Balgruuf continued.

Ra'zhirr met his gaze head-on, saying nothing for a few moments in favor of looking him closely over. He understood suddenly why the hall was empty; he understood the steel in the man's tone was poorly crafted. “You complained not when they protected your city. Complain not now that they drift.”

Regal shoulders lowered, relieved at the civility of the response. “Aye.” Exhaustion darkened fine features, then, emphasized the shadows under his eyes as he leaned himself against the armrest, duty-bound warning administered. “Aye,” the Jarl whispered. “But I did not call you here for that.” He held no animosity towards the men and women who had defended his city and people, had no desire to dirty their legacy. Let them leave, he thought again. For all they have done, just let them leave. There are worse things at hand. His eyes met again with his company's, ice cold and hardened and watchful. “For you, who have witnessed the massacre at Helgen and survived, I have a request.”

“This one is listening.” It was easier to listen, easier to breathe, now that Ra'zhirr knew there was no risk of needing to cut down the Jarl and flee. He kills glady, perhaps, but Balgruuf seemed a decent enough man. It would have been a shame, he admitted to himself as he relaxed. The smoke reached him here and burned his nose, but the sensation kept him here, in the moment. He enjoyed the way the firelight danced off of gleaming metal and gems and the golden silk of the other man's robe as he watched his throat work, looking for words. “Speak plainly.”

“A Jarl does not usually find himself being ordered,” Balgruuf deflected, weary amusement in his voice as he settled comfortably in his chair. “Very well. You know more than most what these dragons are capable of. And I do mean dragons, plural. That beast you encountered is far from the only one I have heard tale of.” There was urgency in his voice, a plea for his audience to grasp the gravity. “There's not much we mortal men can do to stop them,” he said, “no deep wound we can cause with blades and arrows. My court wizard Farengar has been fond of reminding me of late.”

Balgruuf’s lips pressed together as he glared sidelong at the closed doors off to the side, irritated and unsure. “He's fond of the damn things–or at least, the idea of them. I've set him to working on finding a way to drive them away since you first came here from Riverwood, but now he says an informant of his has come up with something that may be truly helpful to our cause.” His gaze darted away from the doors, to the spit above the fire to the floor between his boots and finally to Ra’zhirr’s eyes. Thinking. “This brings us to my request. Speak to Farengar and go where he guides–I’m certain he'll tell you more than me. I know what he seeks is hidden in a crypt somewhere, but that is all I could gleam from him. He insists he won't bore me with the details, insolent man he is,” the Jarl muttered. “Though perhaps you could tell me in one minute what would take him many. He will not share all the details with me, but I suppose as long as you get this done, that will hardly matter.”

It's probably going to be one long one shot when it goes up on ao3, but here's a little less than 1k of the beginning (by snippet I do mean most of what I have written so far lol)

Phantom had been quiet since he was apprehended.

Silent in a way that someone who needed to breathe, someone with a beating heart, could never be, and Batman could tell it had Superman on edge as he stared through the one way glass into the interrogation room. But then the uncanniness of the young man they had captured was probably a minor stressor compared to the concern of what would happen if Phantom got loose, his arrest had been brutal. Clark shouldn't even be in the observation room, any fight that left him as battered as he was should land him in the Fortress of Solitude's medical facilities, but getting that through to him when Phantom was still present was a losing battle.

So many of the League's heavy hitters, including dipping into Justice League Dark for magical support, and Phantom had danced around them.

The only reason they had been victorious in the end was because-

After several failed attempts at capture based on power match ups leaving the league member unable to land a meaningful hit, or arriving too late to stop or catch him, an ambush had finally been successful.

The ambush location had been set up for them, pending inspection by their team, based on Phantom's history and pattern of attack.

A pattern that was too aggressive, to recent for Bruce to have time to investigate to his satisfaction before action was needed.

The research facility had been pre-cleared of civilians and intel, the latter of which irked Batman. Every instance of a League member beating Phantom to a facility location ended with Phantom fleeing, if only to return later. So why would the GIW need to clear their servers to the degree they did.

Each member of the ambush team chosen with the utmost care, carefully strategized, every outcome accounted for, and in the end-

The why was unknown, but Phantom couldn't use his intangibility on Captain Marvel, leading to Marvel turning the fight into a one on one grapple despite the close quarters limiting how much help the rest of the team could be.

Phantom had barely made a sound most of the fight, ignoring the team's attempts at communication, he'd barely hissed at the brutal slash Wonder Woman had landed, barely a grunt at Superman's blows, dancing around Green Lantern's constructs, a motley of growing bruises on his skin and seeping wounds. And Phantom had reciprocated in kind, Diana had come out of the fight bruised, but largely unscathed, but Green Lantern was only 'standing' due to his ring and will, and whatever Phantom had done to Superman's ribs wasn't healing without attention, at least Clark Kent calling in sick to the Daily Planet would help his cover.

But Phantom screamed when Captain Marvel called down lightning on him. Broken, and bone chilling even through the comms, the volume deafening. And Marvel had read the seizing muscles followed by going completely limp, the uneven and new breathing, the tears, the presence of any reaction at all as landing a disabling blow.

Phantom took advantage of the lowered guard, but then at their proximity, it probably wouldn't have mattered lowered guard or not. And Phantom reciprocated in kind.

Phantom's eyes shot open, glowing bright in the night sky, energy arcing off of him as he sent Captain Marvel's lightning back through him.

Captain Marvel's cry cuts off sooner than Phantom's had, quickly replaced by Billy's, having been so close to him when he transformed, Phantom catches him quickly, instinctively, as he begins to fall. Cyborg's drones catch Phantom's expression as he processes what just happened clearly, eyes widening, mouth opening slightly, shock shifting to horror as he stares crestfallen at the boy in his arms.

"We're too high up." The first words anyone on the Justice League had heard him say, despite the GIW claiming he had a reputation for chatting nonsense incessantly. "The atmosphere it's, the air is too thin, too cold, he-"

"Phantom." Superman's tone is unyielding, firm, Phantom's eyes dart to him, "hand him over."

Phantom stares at Superman for a long uncomprehending moment before startling into action, "right, of course," drifting closer to Superman he carefully places a stirring Billy in his arms, as soon as Phantom lets go Green Lantern wraps Billy in a force field.

Billy takes a deep breath, eyes shooting open, twisting in Superman's arms his eyes snap past Phantom, but the warning his glance gives the ghost isn't enough.

Cruel, was not a word that could ever apply to Diana. Ruthless however, was an apt description, her lasso wrapping around Phantom's throat, he didn't need to breathe, but it would prevent his sonic attack, and provided her leverage to swing him around like a dog with a chew toy, diving towards the Earth she slams him into the ground, creating a crater at his impact, and holding him still long enough for Zatanna to swoop in from where she lay in wait to contain him.

The petition for help from the US government had made Phantom out to be a recurring issue, yet hadn't reached out until his most recent attacks.

Research notes going back nearly a decade, tied closely with a branch of the U.S. government none of them had heard of before.

Laser focused on his target unless absolutely forced to shift his attention.

And it took a lot to draw his attention, he displayed a worrying number of powers and abilities, skilled in evasion and combat, he didn't hesitate to match any of the league blow for blow until he-

There was a difference to him in fighting Captain Marvel, the Champion of Magic, Earth's Mightiest Mortal, and Billy Batson, the 14 year old out too late on a school night.

But there wouldn't have been to the menace the GIW had described.

The GIW would be expecting an update soon.

The league didn't have one for them.

Batman refused to have one for them until he had more information.

I feel like you will most likely adopt a child who was turned into a vampire during a mission, immediately taking the role of a caretaker and forcing Alucard to do the same

The first couple of days or months he wouldn't really accept the role of the father figure

It would take a lot of convincing from your side for him to even stop trying to get you to stop parenting the child

He sees himself as someone who failed as a human, who willingly became a monster and he is very aware of his nature, Alucard can't comprehend how you can even think about him in such a positive way

But he will eventually comply in his own twisted way, maybe after your child has proven that while they can be a creature of the night, they still have some sort of humanity in them

maybe the child drank blood from an animal but is still compassionate to other people

Alucard loves and hates the child's innocence at the same time

He sometimes teaches your child how to control their vampiric powers, but it will mainly remain your responsibility (he's afraid the child will take too much after him)

He will definitely tease you a lot about your parental tendencies like "Where are you going? You know, you can barely handle one"

Despite this, his love and respect for you increased even more than before, again because he seems to value determination, will and courage

Alucard will definitely bring the child on a mission, maybe on one who isn't so bloody as usual. If you aren't on board with this he will do it in secret, unless you talk to Integra

Integra will command him to stop until the child has grown

The vampire does have his dad moments, trust me

He melts every time he sees you and his kid having a moment

If somebody other than a few range of specific people dares to comment about you two in a bad way, that person will either be traumatized for life to straight up killed

Alucard will play a lot with your child, he isn't far from teaching him how to transform and many more

Those two will prank soldiers in the most unhinged way

The child will love horror and adventure movies with extreme violence in the future, trust me

But, given how Alucard is one of their main caretakers, they will also become violent and mess with people on purpose (Alucard will either be entertained or curse himself because of this)

If something happens to the child, BLOOD WILL BE SHATTERED

He will have no mercy on whoever even looks at his kid in a weird way

(in Ultimate) Seras and Pip would be more than happy to help with babysitting, and the overall process of taking care of the child, more Seras actually, but Pip finds a good opportunity to get closer to the vampire

In the end, both of them will become extremely attached to your kid

Integra will remain distant, but it is clear she also cares a lot about the child, often forgetting they are a vampire

Walter will provide with the necessities but won't be extremely involved. But he will babysit from time to time, and even train them in small ways

(in 2001) Seras will help like her ultimate counterpart, but I feel like she will take them out more, even showing them her old home

Here, Integra will be a lot more distant, letting comments slip more often regarding the situation, but still cares immensely about them, even if she doesn't show it

I don't know why, but I feel that this version of Walter is more fatherly, so I think he will be more involved in the child's life, maybe even letting them accompany him in the mansion when he doesn't have an important task

Peter Fargason will sometimes entertain the child in small ways, only if the others aren't looking, but will mostly keep his distance

I know that Marble is based on a pace/safety car and mainly has design characteristics from Bee and Breakdown, but what car model would she actually be? And does she have a blaster as a weapon like Bumblebee or would it be an independent weapon like Breakdown’s gun?

she's a 2024 chevrolet blazer ev! it wasn't something i went into her design aiming for - the 'fankid' aspect was more important to me, hence why her transformation and kibble is totally fucked lol. at most she's got kinda similar headlights on her shoulders and kinda similar tail lights on her legs. i've been wanting to change her to reflect her alt a little more, or maybe just pull from a different car (a chevy bolt perhaps?) but it doesn't really bother me too much at the moment :P

as for weapons she's got a big hammer!!! marble was originally inspired by pit crew mechanics from those vids where they're hammering damaged cars back into shape. she's well-intentioned but uh.. big hammer! her first few sketches have The Hammer:

AAA THANK YOU!!!! It’s been a minute since I’ve drawn him and even the more recent art is a lot older. I just sorta forgot to post them, but I’m so happy you like it!!1!1 Okay, so when I first got into transformers, Starscream was an immediate favorite and i would draw him non-stop for months on end. I suppose i eventually figured out how to stylize him in a way that i wanted (even if it changed sporadically from time to time lmao). I used him A LOT to practice how to draw mechs and experiment with stylization!

Although sometimes when i think TOO hard about drawing a character i like, i analyze too much, but it’s a blessing and a curse. Sometimes everything seems to come out wrong until i have a page full of [character] where i can take notes of which aspects of each drawing I’d like to keep/get rid of. That’s how it went with my perfectionist tendencies anyway😭 But maybe don’t do what i did and beat yourself up if it doesn’t look good the first few tries unless you’re persistent enough to let that be motivation to continue and improve lol.

All in all: just doodling him a bunch and letting your hand feel out how you draw him/get used to his shapes, then everything should be swag!!!! This goes for anything, too. If you draw anything enough it will feel natural, but ALSO USE REFERENCES IF YOU NEED! Take no shame in looking at how he looks in cannon and in fanart. Studying how other artists draw things can be very helpful in understanding a possible area of struggle! I see quite a few people that think references are evil and that totally might not be you, but i had to get that out

I think as a changeling she probably has the ability to just... Transform her hair however she likes at will, right? And based on her attitude plus some lines we get from Sceleritas about her own former-butler, it sounds like she would be really opposed to being serviced in that way, to me at least.

If you're asking about game strats, badly, LOL. Pretty sure I died twice to her in my first run and it was a rough way of being thrown into "serious" DnD combat.

With the exception of a couple of encounters that just so happened to turn out SURPRISINGLY cinematic, I'm just realizing that I actually don't think too often about how most of the fights went in real-time! I imagine Autie Ethel's in particular wasn't one that DU drow went into of his own accord, probably rather at a companion's insistence. That's as deep as I've thought about that personally.

Now... Back to game strats. I personally try to get a surprise round on her however I can by sneaking and shooting an arrow or AOE in her general location, since she always stands on roughly the same spot while invisible. I have my companions spread about the arena so we can take her clones down as fast as possible, and as soon as I identify who the real Ethel is I just have the strongest martial characters wail on her until she begs to be let go. He pretty swiftly disposed of her, DU drow doesn't like being talked down to, which Minthara very promptly does. Him (and I, by extension) had very limited exposure to her and she was just kind of a speck of dust in his story in particular. Though I have since grown to adore her character in my proceeding runs where I do recruit her!

I guess if he got an invitation and it wasn't particularly painful to arrive at the venue, sure! He would specially love to take Astarion to Gale's wedding ceremony and purposely upstage him at every at every opportunity, LOL.

Yes. He got pretty freaky with the pain-priest. This is gonna sound like a lie but I made him get naked for it without even knowing there was a buff to be gained (I didn't get it, unfortunately, I don't remember whether I failed a check or if I had camp clothes toggled on, so it didn't count as being truly nude). I wasn't taking the game very seriously and just doing dumb roleplay things to see what would happen, LOL.

And I consider that canonical. I think DU drow saw the opportunity to show off his physique And had a strange inkling that this was a practice he was... Somehow familiar with.

Imagine my joy when Astarion and Shadowheart start having a back-and-forth about my absurd display. That's when i knew those were my people, to be honest.

Okay so - the origin of the Autobots and Decepticons. I’ll admit I’m mostly pulling from the wiki, since the Allspark Almanac is very long and there’s a lot of lore thats scattered around a lot of different places. So this is what is commonly understood.

(Also this is over the course of millions of years. Transformers long ass timescale basically)

The Autobots and Decepticons are the modern factions, but in Cybertron’s past they’ve had several wars. There is some lore on how this came to be, but the important stuff if that a group called the Protectobots eventually came to power through a coup d’état.

Eventually Nova Magnus came to power, and started what was known as “the great purge” in order to eliminate all “undesirables” including knowledge of their past. They were stopped by another faction known as the Destrons led by Devros, who won the war and came to power around 1 billion years ago.

The Autobots emerged as a sub-faction of the Protectobots, encouraging them to expand into other planets and eventually other systems around 700 million years ago, founding the Autobot commonwealth. However, Destrons started to feel like they were doing all the work defending the commonwealth and not seeing the benefits. This ended eventually, likely from these tensions.

As tensions grew, a subfaction of Destrons, the Decepticons, rose to prominence around 70 million years ago and were led by Megazarak. By that time, the age of expansion was over and the Decepticons wanted to return to it - advocating to bring Cybertron itself to life to become a juggernaut of conquest. They’re vaguely implied to be very imperialistic while Autobots focused more on art and science.

When Megatron ousted Megazarak as leader, tensions reached a boiling point and the Great War began. We don’t know how long it exactly was, only that it lasted for millions of years and by the time animated started it’s been at least one or two million years. Long enough for there to be a new generation thats never seen war, at least on the Autobot’s side.

Jump forward a lot, a new combiner group were named Protectobots and it’s noted this name has negative connotations in modern times, which also tells us a lot about what we should think of them.

So basically both factions were originally political groups on Cybertron, but there’s always been something of a divide between the civilians and war frames that got more pronounced over time - which matches the g1 clips we see in the first episode, since the g1 backstory for the war was that the Autobots and Decepticons have always been fighting for control over Cybertron.

However, this divide became MONUMENTAL after the Great War, which was the largest of the Cybertronian wars, and now they’re basically completely different societies and co-existence is inconceivable to both groups from what we see.

I find this interesting compared to TFP, where Optimus Prime wants there to be peace super badly and the divide between them is a much more recent thing (relatively speaking).

Anyways - thanks for giving me space to infodump :) and I’m not any authority lol, especially since so much lore is scattered and almost none of it is in the show. Honestly, I think most Animated fic writers pick and choose what to use because of just how unexplained it is lol.

I’m loving the TFP x TFA stuff you’ve already done, it’s a lot of fun to contrast such different stories against eachother!
