Ohhhhhh, JD is the hardest one... How I approach drawing any character is kinda the same way I would approach drawing any subject matter.
Shapes, shapes, shapes! ✨ The build blocks of everything. Nailing down how a character is built is the first step in getting them to look and act the way you want. Combining multiple shapes to get the desired body part until it becomes second nature with practice.
After that you need good clear posing; a lot easier said than done. It might take a lot of trail and error, this is where it's best to do a lot of loose messy sketches till you find one that works and toss the rest. The more detailed you are in a sketch, the worse it'll feel to toss it if it's just not working how you want, so working loose early is better.
If you're working on drawing a specific character, it helps to take a lot of observation notes 📝 I prefer to watch things in motion to get the feel on how to draw them, but I know others prefer a still image to reference. Just depends on your preferences.
JD is a square, squishy, stocky design of a character. Not especially tall; he's got the biggest mouth out of the bros which cause his face to be extra malleable with full on grins or grimaces. Good luck with those goggles. JD maybe be squishy as a marshmallow but those goggles sure aren't; they are solid and unyielding in their task at framing his face no matter the angle. Necessary to bring the design together but man they are a pain in the booty to get right.

Beauty Maintenance will probably always be on weekends for the stuff that weekly/bi weekly like face masks,manipedis,hair etc!!

Hi, I really like making little personalized references for characters I like when I get into things! I do this to figure out how I wanna draw them, and is a recent-ish development that I haven’t done a lot, but I really like character design and thinking about them! So I made some for Siffrin. How fun!
DO NOTE THAT THIS WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR LATER PARTS OF THE GAME. I did obviously tag it as such for the sake of others and it will be further down, but I figured I’d still warn you just in case. <:3
Now, without further ado, here’s “reference one!”

I’m personally gonna be using this in conjunction with Siffrin’s actual reference sheet (which I refer to as “notes” in mine!!) to make sure he look his best! I also wanted to make sure they’re “in line with canon,” yet still in my style and in a way I can be proud of.
Which isn’t that hard, since I’m usually always proud of my own work. I just like my own stuff. <:3
Due to the brim of his hat allegedly being bean-shaped (teehee), I thought it’d be fun if I carried that over to his torso/body. It’s not noticeable with a cloak in the way, nor when Siffrin’s standing straight up. Basically, the bean shape would only be revealed in certain poses.
(Coming up with that also made me say “Whoops! All beans!” out loud about Siffrin, btw.)
Additionally, I like giving characters is their own set of fangs. One character I draw has a gap between them and the rest of their teeth, one has prominent ones to make them more cat like on purpose — and for Siffrin, I decided to give them rounded ones.
I usually make fangs razor sharp, because I really like big ol chompers like that, so them being round is definitely a very unique thing for Siffrin to have. Well, at least at first.
I’m also a really big fan of certain design elements sticking around after something wild happens to characters… which brings us to “reference two.”

Well, if you’re not gonna be able to find any good references for this version of Siffrin, you might as well make your own, right??
The major thing I wanted to do with this Siffrin was to have him still feel like himself, but also give him somewhat of a unique design in comparison — by playing up elements I noticed during this scene.
Making this Siffrin feel as giant as they are was important to me. I went ahead and made their hat, face, hair and cloak longer. Made their shoulders broader, had them hunch over so they’d practically loom over everyone. Trying to appear smaller while still being an obstacle. Wanting everyone to stay here. Wanting their family.
I noticed that a lot of Siffrin’s hair seemed a lot more angular here, so I felt it crucial to use those shapes, but going a couple steps further and using them for his face as well… primarily his mouth and chin, of course. Which meant replacing those rounded fangs I gave him with a full set of sharper ones.
(I also wanted them to look like they’re too big for Siffrin’s mouth, so two of them — well, four? — will always peek out/fall past their lower lip. It’s like their teeth are not a comfortable fit whatsoever and it makes talking feel weird, but they manage.)
(They stick around after Siffrin “reverts back” or whatever we’re calling it. He never gets his round fangs back, but at least the ones he has now serve as a reminder that he got to the end. Might take some getting used to, though.)
(I also tried making their brows look a bit more angular? Can’t tell if they really come across that way.)
ANYWAY, I THINK I SHOULD STOP HAHAHA. I could go on and on all day, but I got other things to do and I think I’ve already explained enough! Just know that I get a kick out of putting love and care into character thoughts and designs. <:3

Horrortober Day 9 - Death(Yandere Rise Mikey x Reader)
A/N, not important: DO NOT IGNORE THE CONTENT WARNINGS. Any criticism is welcome, constructive or not. This is supposed to be a gender neutral reader, so if I screwed up somewhere, please tell me.

Summary: Mikey's so far into his own head he doesn't even notice how far gone you are as well.
Mikey whistles to himself as he draws in his sketchbook, your head in his lap while he does so. It was a lazy Saturday, nothing going on for him, or for you. He decided that morning that he didn’t want to do anything but cuddle and relax, dragging you into his lap and settling down. The hand he wasn’t using to draw rakes slowly through your hair, your closed eyes and paling face making Mikey smile.
You were so much sweeter like this. Complacent with everything he does, no longer fighting, no longer flinching at his touch. Sure, you had grown quiet, but you had also stopped arguing. It was a massive improvement in his eyes.
The candles around his room flickered, the sweet aroma battling the foul stench seeping from the depths. He barely noticed, having grown so used to the smell. It wasn’t bad to him, and he brushed it off whenever his brothers complained when they walked by. It was why he got the candles after all. To quell their complaints and keep you happy. He couldn’t have you living in a rancid room after all. Even if it was mostly your fault either way.
Mikey sets his pencil down and leans over, grabbing the remote to his personal TV Donnie had gifted him for you. He turns it on, switching through the channels with mild disinterest. He glances down at you, his thumb caressing your cheek softly. He could feel your cheek cavity caving in at the small amount of pressure, fluid spilling from your lips. He simply wipes it away and turns back to the screen, ignoring the way your hair falls out in clumps in his hands as he strokes your head.
“What do you want to watch?” He asks, clicking through each channel as it comes on. He appreciates how you weren’t as rigid as the other day, although your skin still felt dry. He knew you hadn’t been getting up to take care of yourself, but it was still disappointing. Maybe he’d give you some lotion to put on later, to add some more life to your touch.
He doesn’t wait for you to answer, clicking on the first cartoon that pops up and leaning over his sketchbook once more. The weight of your head in his lap was comforting, making every wrong in the world right once more. You were his anchor, keeping him still and steady despite the rocking waves. He would be lost without you, and he refused to ever let you go.
The TV drones on in the background while Mikey draws, loosely sketching you and practicing poses with your body. He was restraining himself from adding too much detail to the pieces, trying to capture your essence in as few lines as possible, but feeling guilty for not pulling out all the stops in the drawing of your likeness.
He takes your limp hand and squeezes it, whispering soft words to you while he stares. You gave no opinion to his dilemma, but Mikey still felt bad for not giving you the full works, even if it was just in a drawing. He sighs, deciding to leave those drawings as just sketches, and make a fuller piece of you on the next page.
The page turns, and a knock sounds from the door, startling Mikey. He stares at the door for a moment before carefully moving you off him and slipping off the bed. He opens the door to see Leo, the older slider grimacing. He coughs when the door opens, taking a step back from his room.
“Mikey, Hermano, your room smells like death. Are you okay? Did a rat die in your paints again?”
Mikey frowns, shaking his head. “Not that I know of. And I have candles burning, so that should get rid of the smell soon. But I don’t even notice it unless I’ve been outside for a long while. It’s not that bad.”
Leo sighs, rubbing the bridge of his snout. He didn’t have the heart to tell him just how awful the smell was. He looks at his younger brother, both in concern and love. “Have they woken up yet at least? You said they’ve been sleeping for three days now.”
Mikey pouts, shaking his head. “Nope, still asleep. I shook them this morning and everything.”
Leonardo stares at his younger brother, contemplating what to do. He understood you were Mikey’s, and he wasn’t going to fight the younger on that again. However, having his youngest sibling and his kidnapped partner live in a room that reeked of death, especially while you were apparently out cold, was not the best idea.
“I’ll take a look at them.” Leo mumbles, walking into the room once Mikey steps to the side. Leo covers his nose as he steps into the thick of it, his eyes burning and lungs crying out for mercy. He couldn’t even breathe through his mouth, the air tasting as putrid as it smelled. His eyes land on you, and he freezes. Flies were buzzing around your head, landing on your skin. Pus and other fluids dripped from you, your bloated body being in the middle of Mikey’s bed and staining his sheets and blankets with the muck of decomposition.
Mikey was right in a sense. You hadn’t been waking up. Not like you could anymore, not with what Leo was staring at. Your eyes looked to have been forced shut with tape, your body patchy and drained of color from the lack of life. Mikey looks on at you too, his vision warped to see your sleeping form rather than your corpse. Your dead, rotting corpse.
Leo pukes and runs out of the room, yelling for his brothers with Mikey’s pleas hot on his heels.

Hey lumii!! It's me again (the creator of seawave the Water Fury) I was wondering, how do you draw humans/people?
Finally got around to this one~!
So my human (and most every other thing I do) drawings are kinda...messy, lol~ BUT! Here's how I pretty much do it (Using SCP 076 or 'Abel' as my example~):

So I always start with the head, and it's basically just an imperfect rectangle. My planning isn't a set-in-stone-type planning, so I don't often stick to inside of this rectangle or follow the guide lines perfectly. I'm always adjusting and editing my sketching as I go about to better fit what I'm drawing. So with that, I just make two simple guidelines inside the head shape: a line down the middle for the center of the head, and a line horizontal to show where the eyes will sit.
I then start with the eyes, then nose, then mouth. As I had mentioned before, I don't perfectly follow my own guides, but they let me know roughly where to place things. Afterward, I add the ears and then I draw out the rough head shape. Often times, this is where I do the most editing when at the head-drawing stage.
Now that my character's head is situated, I work with the rest of the body that I plan to draw. My human bodies are often done very simple and I just kinda add details as I go along. I'll do a horizontal line for the shoulders/collarbone, a short line for the neck guide, and another for the "spine" of the character. Afterwards, I just kinda connect these lines to fill the body shape out. My human bodies are often shaped like bendy-rectangles.

Once that's done, I add two circles for the shoulders/where the arms connect and I do a rough shape for the arms. My style is pretty cartoony/exaggerated, so these shapes are often sharp with a tapered end towards the wrist. The hands are next and are blocks with the rough shapes of the fingers.
With my planning done, I'll go in and sketch in the finer details. I often skip this step with making the "base" to add details on and just jump straight to the full sketch since I have a good understanding of this planning style, but I figured I'd add it for the sake of the tutorial.
With my base, I can then go in and add the details of the hair, clothes, accessories, ect.

The last step is basically just cleaning it up and prepping it for inkwork if I intend to go further with the picture. Since this is just a sketch, I add in some sketch-only details (the shaded-in parts) and wrap it up!

For more full-body stuff, I keep things pretty simple in terms of shapes much like with the arms and upper-part of the body. I like the look of ol' noodle-limbs, so I often add bends and curves to my character poses and planning.
I also have an assortment of facial features that I thought might help~
So yeah, that's more or less how I draw people! Hope it helps in some way!

Road to 3D- Sam Manson (Part 1):

Part 2: Character Modeling
Hi! On my recent posts of my 3d models I got many asking questions about how I made them. I'm currently working on a 3d Sam model from scratch and so I thought I can document my process here and add some thoughts through my process.
Before I can model anything in 3d I need a reference and a plan. For characters this means I need to create a model sheet, so here we are.
Some disclaimer first before I continue:
I'm just a self-taught hobby artist not a professional or proper art student. The infos I write here down are just the things I do and can be completly wrong or different in a professional setting.
This is not a tutorial or a step-by-step-guide for character design or how to make character sheets in general. Just additional things that I pay attention to when I make a model sheet for my 3d models.
As someone who just does 3d modeling in my freetime for 2 1/2 years I see myself still as a beginner. I'm still in a experimenting with different techniques and artstyle. This and the following posts describes just stuff I do for this model, it could be some other method next if I feel this didn't work out that well. Nothing is set in stone.
I do the 3d models just for myself for practice and for fun, you cannot download them anywhere. I just post screenshots and do sometime animations to archive my progress.
Under the cut are my thoughts of how I approach a model sheet for a 3d character:
First things first I search for references and make some rough sketches to decide how I want the character to look like. I found this image of a character on pinterest ( anyone knows who the artist is? I cannot find the original source) and use this as a reference for my Sam model.
After the inital phase I first draw the front side of the character. For a 3d model I need a symmetrical neutral character in a T-pose, an A-pose or a standing pose in which the arms doesn't obscure the body. This makes it easier to model and rig them late on.
Speaking of obscuring the body it's also better to have a character without their clothes on and in multiple angles. It is easier to model the character's full body first and then model the clothes around it as an anchor point.

The most import angles for me are the front and side view. The other angles are more for the details to get the likeness right. I try to model the front view most accurately and the sideview is more for the proportions. I don't often see people only from the side view so whatever I draw from the side cannot 100% be accurately be modeled like that. I also made a different side view on the right with the arm seperated from the body, this makes it easier block in the form of the body and it's easier to model the arm and hand seperatly because hands are not only difficult to draw but also difficult to model.
For the different angles I use a mannequin model in blender as a guide and reference. Clip studio paint (the painting program I use) has also 3d mannequins but I personally find them difficult to move around so I prefer to use blender for this.

Bull-hybrid x farm owner reader

You push the barn doors open with a gentle creak, the morning sun flooding the musky place with a golden glow. The familiar sounds of your farm waking up greet you—cows lowing, birds chirping, and the faint hum of the wind through the fields. But one sound stands out, as always: a deep, cocky chuckle coming from the other side of the barn.
"Hello darlin' ," teasing voice drawls. "And here I was thinking you'd sleep in today, give us a break."
You roll your eyes before you even turn to face him. "In your dreams, You've got work to do, maybe u can sleep in on the weekend if your good."
There, leaning against the side of one of the stalls, is your bull hybrid. He's tall, with strong, muscular limbs, his thighs are thicker then ur waist, his horns curling back from his head. His tail swishes lazily behind him as he grins at you, showing off his perfect, cocky smirk.
"So what's on today's schedule?" He steps closer, his heavy hooves smashing down on the barn floor. "Because right now it seems like you just came out here to admire me?" He says smirks, as he poses for you, flexing his muscles.
You snort. "You wish. Now, are you going to help me or just stand there looking pretty?"
He laughs again, a deep rumble that never fails to send a shiver down your spine, though you’d never admit it. "I’m good at both, but if you insist, Boss."
As much as he likes to tease, is a hard worker, and it's fucking hot to watch. His muscular body, nearly covered and glistening in a thick coat of sweat. He strides across the barn, grabbing a heavy bag of feed with ease, his muscles flexing as he lifts it onto his shoulder like it weighs nothing. It’s a sight you’ve grown used to... sort of. No matter how many times you see him working the farm, his strength and confidence still have a way of drawing your attention. And he KNOWS it.
He shoots a glance back at you, catching you staring. "Like what you see?" His grin widens. "Don’t worry, darlin' you’re not the first to fall for the charms of a bull."
"Get over yourself," you huff, grabbing a bag of feed for yourself, even though it’s half the size of the one he’s carrying. If you were horney enough you think you could come from just watching him throw things twice your side around like they were nothing.
But as you walk past him to start on the far side of the barn, he moves quickly, blocking your path. His large frame casts a shadow over you, and you can feel the heat radiating off him in the blistering morning sun.
"You know," he says, his massive frame hoovering over you in a way that's makes your panties dampen, "you’re a tough woman, but I can’t help but think... You think about me in a way... Not work appropriate. Do you get of on watching me work?"
Your heart skips a beat, your face flushing bright red, and you curse internally at how easily he gets under your skin. His bronz eyes lock onto yours, full of playful mischief and something... more. It’s the same teasing dance you two have been doing for months now, ever since you hired him on the farm. At first, you’d chalked it up to him being overly confident, he doesn't want you, at least not in the way you want him. It's his personality you tell yourself, even when his boner is blatantly obvious.
"Seriously," you say, though your voice isn’t as steady as you’d like. "Move"
He steps back, but not before he flashes you another grin. "As you wish, Darlin'. But don’t pretend you don’t enjoy our little... Games."
With a swish of his tail, he heads back to his work, leaving you flustered and, as usual, trying to regain your crumbled composure.
Throughout the day, you fall into a rhythm. The flirtation is constant—whether he’s making innuendos about your "authority" or taking a firm grab at your ass every now and again. But he gets his tasks done, and at the end of the day, when the sun starts to dip low on the horizon, you both find yourselves back in the barn, finishing up the last of the chores.
You’re stacking bales of hay when he approaches again, wiping the sweat from his brow, his body glistening with sweat and dirt. He uses his strong body to pin yours, the rough hey scratching at yuor back.
"You know," he starts, his voice lower than usual, "I don’t play with just anyone. You’re VERY special, Darlin'" His voice gets quiter at the end as his calloused hands glide over you body.
Before you have time for a response he leans down, lips catching slightly on your cheek as his breath hits your neck "see you tomorrow darlin"

9th feb '24 - [arch] characters, interactions and emotion - making a mini webcomic
Gahhhh Shri this has been an absolutely crazy couple of weeks!!!! Hope you are doing well :)) First of all, WOW! You have a lot of goals, and I’m sure you’ll get them done! I’ve worked a lot on my graphic design during the process of making Winter Wellbeing. If you wanna see a blog post dedicated just to that, I can do so! It would be cool to compare notes on the approaches we take for graphic layouts. If you wanna share your knowledge of camera skills when you build that up that would be awesome 😭😭
It’s been a tough few weeks, art wise. I have been reflecting on my process, motivations to create, the ego and all the baggage that’s lumped into the creative process for me. It turns out there’s a lot. I took some space from my illustration practise (literally for a weekend!) and began to realise how dysfunctional it is. I’ve been writing a lot about that so there may be a larger piece of writing coming about that at some point (no promises!!)
But for now, let's talk about little successes!

I’ve been playing with some characters for a while but I’d hit a bit of a block with the plot. I realised the expectation of having a finished project of high quality soon is unrealistic, and an unhealthy expectation to put on myself. I rarely give myself time to play with concepts for a long time and let the characters, plot and interactions evolve naturally. Maybe this in part came from sticking to the short university module turnaround. I noticed that that short turnaround was causing a lot of block, so I have decided to bench it as a comic for now and focus on using it as a playground - falling in love with the characters, creating stories and drawing them for fun. Maybe years down the line I’ll make them into a comic - we shall see! 
I *tried* to do hourly comics day this year and it didn’t quite work for me. I think I made 3 comics? And then got distracted with a bigger project that ended up taking a week or so to complete. Let’s have a look at it, shall we?

First of all, it’s based on an unfinished fanfiction I started a couple of months ago, which was mostly bad, but there was one nice scene that I liked and wanted to expand on. I started by having a look at the script I wrote and thumbnailing on the iPad. I’m away from home at the mo and usually would prefer to do most of my artwork traditionally, but because I don’t have access to a scanner, the whole process was digital this time. A lot of the pages got scrapped because the dialogue wasn’t necessary, and I’m not drawing pages that aren’t necessary.

I thought a lot about posing during the process, acting the scenes out in my mind and sometimes physically, really understanding the emotions of the characters, why they’re saying what they’re saying, their tone and how to convey that though their body language and expression (i find grian really annoying normally [affectionate] but I want this grian to step on me).

Pearl was hard with this because she’s quite erratic and unpredictable in this series, so I wanted her to switch from raw explodey anger to playful jabs at Grian. I’m hoping this comes across as somewhat insane, rather than tonally off and inconsistent. I did super enjoy drawing her and her explosive nature though, especially in comparison to Grian’s coldness.

I played with levels and monotone colour too - I’m not working with multiple colours much at the moment so I’m able to focus on things like values composition, characters and backgrounds. My skills limit the kind of stories I can tell currently, so I’m working to improve those foundations. Maybe when I’m back in the riso studio I can play with colours a little more.
Colours - despite the simple pallete it gets a bit nerdy here.I stuck to specific flat percentages for most of it - Pearl’s hair and Grians jumper are 60%, Grian’s hair and Pearl’s cloak are 20%. Then I added a 14% layer for shadows, using a ahrd blend eraser tool for highlights, making the images quite dark. I fill a layer with texture from Forystr’s riso brush for procreate, and turn it into a 40% opacity colour dodge layer. This gives it some much needed texture and makes the lighting feel low and nighttimecore. It also pushes the values to look really nice - I tend to be too scared to push them by myself.
I tried a few different colour layers to get a *vibe* but settled on a low percentage riso blue in a colour layer. All layers besides the riso blue are in a riso black, colour picked from a riso colour pallete. I learnt these tools - using percentages to get good values - from working with risograph. I really recommend having a look at these techniques and doing some monotone work. It's really improved by character designs, page layouts and compositions.

the trailblazer wasn't so naive as to think that the man before her was anything less than lethal. everything about him spelled bad news, from his very aura, that menacing grin, the insanity in those mismatched hues — everything. every fiber of his being screamed trouble, but why was it that the whirring inside of her pushed for her to get closer ? the stellaron was hungering for something. the frequency that buzzed from his neck. it got louder and louder, vibrating, calling ...
and the feral part inside of the stellaron vessel begged to answer it. amber glowed deeper, flashing a kind of hunger so primal as though it linked right into the cancer of all worlds resided deep inside her chest. gloved digits managed to grab onto him, even the high collar of his clothing did nothing to hide the pulsing mark daring gold latched its sight onto.
they were fangs glinting from the corner of her parted lips, sharp teeth baring like a wolf. fangs were for biting, and bite she did. like instinct. like a need. sharp fangs sank right into the sensitive skin, mouth enclosed over the feral bite and there was a primal growl coming from the back of her throat, coupled with that rush of adrenaline and the whirring of the stellaron compelling her to take more. there was no logic, only pure, unadulterated instinct to bite and mark. pupils dilated as auric hues glowed brighter, hearing the humming of the mark vibrating physically against her fangs, her teeth, her mouth.
something about this man had awakened a beast inside of her, and it wanted him.

a sliver of his tacet mark is all that he allows to show from the high collar of his jacket, a reminder that he holds power at his fingertips and a barrier to shield any who would dare to bare their claws against the black ripples across his throat. the mark spreads out against his neck like the scars that marr his face, an ode to what he calls himself, an elegy that maybe in his past life, the skin on his throat was split open and left bleeding, leaving behind a jagged wound that congealed with drying blood as his life slipped away.
fingers itch to touch the tacet mark that rests hidden on his neck, to spread his fingers against his throat and hold it as if his hands would protect the vulnerable skin that lays just beneath the fabric of his collar. in the face of a woman with molten gold eyes that draw him in like a moth to a flame, he keeps his hands at his side. there is something about her that sings to him, that sends reverberations against his tacet mark and forces his veins to pulse with the thrill of danger. the rush of unease allows a smile to grow on his face, a cheshire like grin for the woman who causes his skin to thrum beneath the vibrations of his mark.
scar speaks to fear like it is home, like it is his calling, and he allows for the feeling to wash heat through his flesh, spreading to every inch of his being. he does not know where this woman has come from. she appears like a tacet discord, sudden and dangerous, unbelievably cruel in their ability to wreak havoc wherever they may thread. she approaches him like a predator stalking their prey, and scar delights in the looming threat of being hunted, of feeling as if he should flee the incoming violence she poses upon his flesh.
perhaps he should take a step back, perhaps he should turn around and flee, perhaps he should not stand in place as molten gold advances on him with sharpened canines bared and poised ready to tear apart flesh. the vibrations call to him like a net of addiction, pulling him in, drawing him to crave for the source of this magnetism. she draws near, and scar cants his neck.
red hot fiery pain jolts through him as his throat is pierced, digging into the soft skin along the column of his mark. it sends fire coursing through his flesh, heating up his skin as the sensation soars through his body. his head tilts to the side, revealing the full view of his tacet mark as the woman bites into him and causes the reverberation to explode in his skull, the sound of drums beating down heavily on him as it syncs with the sound of his own beating heart and drowns out all other sensations.
there is only this woman and her fangs against his tacet mark that digs painfully into his throat. his head slumps to the side in full submission as his mouth parts in a soundless gasp, eyes rolling to the back of his head as he can only feel her. he feels as if he's on fire, he feels as if there is a heat that wraps around his core and sears into his skin, burning him from the inside out. the pain is almost unbearable, sharpness against the vulnerable skin of his jugular, and it is with this pain that his breath hitches, growing uneven as she shifts her teeth into his throat. he feels as if she is going to rip his throat asunder, he wishes that she will.
"you wonderful little thing," scar gasps, breathless as his mind comes back to him in bits and pieces. scar wraps his hands around this woman, pulling her impossibly closer, a hand on her head to push her down further into his throat. he shivers and gasps as his smile returns to his face. the vibrations soothe the pain he feels from the vibe, his tacet mark resonating with the woman who sinks herself into him as if this is where she belongs, right in his arms as she seeks to tear his flesh apart. it's calming, it's blissful. the pain feels like a long lost lover on his flesh, and he goads this woman into drawing blood.

Hello!!
I had a quick art question if you don’t mind! So, I notice that your really good at drawing full bodies! They always look really flowy and the way you draw body language is so amazing! I was wondering if you had any tips for making drawings look not so stiff and also what you studied to get better at anatomy?

hello!!! thank you so much for your message and i'll try to answer this to the best of my ability-- i don't consider anatomy my strong suit at all, but i'm very flattered you think the way i draw full bodies is nice T__T!
this got a little long so i'll leave it below the read more.
i'm not very good at studying For art in general, but i do use reference whenever i can't figure out a pose properly, usually through the 3d model that csp offers. if not csp, there's always online 3d models too that can be moved around and stuff to help pinpoint the joints and general look of a body. i also just google hyper specific phrasing and usually a stockphoto exists out there of what i'm looking for. when i get the reference once down, it usually helps me learn the pose better so i'll be able to draw it without reference in the future!
i've done my fair share of figure studies also, it helps train instincts when drawing the body and help giving a sense of what feels right in the anatomy. and when doing figure studies, it's good to have a goal in mind of what one might want to focus on; if you want to get better at drawing arms, then you focus on drawing arms! if you want to get better at gesture, then full body figure studies by looking at the curves of the body! imo, getting it down to specifics and taking it a step at a time makes it easier to learn. i think it's helpful especially when you are in the middle of a piece and is trying to get the anatomy down accurately. it's a pain in the ass because it can feel like a detour from your piece, but it's also motivation and a good way of applying what you learn immediately!
it's been AWHILE since i last done a figure study though, but i highly recommend it if improvement feels static in the anatomy department! if anything, it's good for loosening up too, which helps makes poses not stiff.
i think the way i compensate with not being super accurate with anatomy/lose stiffness also is by focusing on what kind of feeling i want to deliver through a person's pose? i try to consider why a person is posed a certain way; thinking why their arm might be slack on their side instead of lifted, why their legs are straight instead of bent, why their head might be tilted, and stuff like that... and to consider the emotions of the person behind the body and the overall piece too, whether they're happy or bored or tired or energetic; whether it's intimate, hateful, fear, etc, it can all lend itself to the body language and give a more emotional push to what's drawn. fear to me is tightness, restrained, and strong so the pose itself ends up reflecting that. intimate is curves, loops, flowy to me. so i think it's something to consider when drawing bodies, just thinking about what the pose itself is meant to accomplish aside from just posing!

i haven't posted this one on tumblr yet but i think this is one of my better latest examples??? my main goal was just to get the teether in and have weight to wolfwood's body against vash's via the head against shoulder and stumble. clumsy vs surprised and i wanted the hold around vash's body to have a light grip to it too and the overall atmosphere to feel confused and intimate. those were the main things i want to get out in that piece in terms of body language and anatomical accuracy ends up being a forethought. once i have the gestures and intent out through sketch, then i focus on the anatomy and try to figure out what looks off. looking at refs or using a 3d model or even acting out the pose yourself tends to help a lot at this step, as i mentioned prior!
that's just the kind of stuff that i tend to consider when i'm drawing bodies!! in the end, when i do art, i just try to go by feeling after a certain point of learning some technical stuff DGMKSDGM what Feels right may end up being right, even if it isn't accurate... but doing studies is unfortunately the best way of learning to hone those instincts so that you could convey the feelings better and in a more concrete, sensible way, that could be empathetic to those who see it.
i'm sorry if this was just a blabber of nonsense or maybe i was just pointing out some Very blatant things--- i'm still learning lots about anatomy myself right now, so i'm not the best teacher but nonetheless, i hope it was resourceful or helpful in one way or another!

HELLO :D I have a few questions regarding your art-
First off- how do you render? Specifically when choosing the differences in material lighting? There’s just a sort of dramatic lighting that your art has that always makes it look extremely epic
Second off- What’s your method for anatomy? Like, Do you use a much of ovals/rectangles, wing it like a madman, or etc? And how do you define each part of the body? (Or separate hair segments?)
And Thirdly- how do you add volume and consistency to your work? Every design that I see of yours just looks like it jumped straight from a 3D movie screen, and really curious as to how you do all that!
Also- holy cow I freaking love your art so much- like I just found out you drew like half of my favourite art pieces out there. And I just love looking at it. It’s kind of like a golden caramel apple, if that makes any sense!!

The first statement I need to make is that my main method is 'fuck around and find out'. Literally. Also sorry if some of the explanations don't make any sense, English is not my first language.
Here's kinda step by step of how my drawing process looks like.

Sketch, then rough cleaning and adding monochrome colors, it's totally unnecessary, but I like to do it just to see how the drawing would look later with dynamic lightning. Then move onto lineart, used to draw it on another layer on top of the sketch, but I switched to just correcting the lines and eareasing what I don't want from the sketch. It's kinda more fun and takes less time. Then come the base colors and adding shadows. What I most often do is add shading on the color layers and then on top of all of them draw a full shadow.

Like this, then multiply and fuck around with opacity. This makes the characters pop out even more and adds depth to them. Then add lightning, and sometimes effects from saved pngs. For example, I often use this site for material textures: https://www.transparenttextures.com/
2. When it comes to anatomy, I most often use existing pose references, not fully copying them but like putting them together like a collage. A head here, hands there, I have full boards on Pinterest dedicated solely to different body parts. In the past I was heavily using whole sketches and body pose references, but over the time I was able to somehow figure out the anatomy on my own. To some degree. I still have no idea how to properly draw hands. What I'm saying is that it's good to base your art on existing references (NOT COPY THEM) but use as a guide, until you get a hang of it.
3. Lately to do something more stylistic and to bring out the volume I started doing this notion in the shadows:

I have no idea how to call it, but it makes things pop out.
Anddd I finally got around doing more dynamic poses and dramatic positioning. Bringing parts of the drawing forward, and leaning some further, going wild with blur filter and using black as guides and contrast.

So that might be why it looks more like screenshot of some movie, which is such a big compliment to me imma cry.

Character design and step-by-step process for my Torchship Commission. It involved character design, posing, starship art, rendering, and a LOT of work. This is, so far, my biggest and best commission yet. I thought it might be interesting to look at how I went about drawing this.

Initial character design sketches to get the feel of the characters correct. I used more of a lower decks style especially in the eyes at this step, but they would be more detailed by the time i got to making the final drawing. I had to do Martin in color because of the psychic energy being in her head.

the actual line-art is pretty rough here. in retrospect a big part of that is simply the neck placement relative to the head. but that wasn't the point. the point is cool whispy aura/halo.

Iterating on the faces, putting them on bodies with relative heights Holmes is a career spacer and so very tall; Yureli is a martian, and martians are all very short. Also, I forgot Stevens' goatee, so that had to be added! The facial expression on Martin had to be changed to be more "bedroom eyes" as per client feedback. :P

note how Holmes' robot arm attaches to her spine down her back. The robot arm was not specified in the commission info, but I thought something that resembled a NASA rover robot arm, or maybe Canadarm, would be really cool and interesting.

Mockup with the sketch mostly finished. I was asked to lower Martin's ACER pistol to be more like a secret agent kinda pose.

Mary Gilham 32 was started on a separate project file. I started by tracing the basic proportions of the Mary Gilham from one of the reference renders I was sent, then I added a lot of the details. The warp rings were made by using the ellipse tool to construct the different pieces of the rings and move them into place; way better than freehanding it.
Now, I had procrastinated starting this project for a couple days, but by the time I actually got to working on it I could not stop. I had started the concept sketches at 2:44 PM and I finished the line-art and silhouette for the Mary Gilham at 10:48 PM. Job well done for the day, I went to bed.
And then got back out of bed because I couldn't sleep, lmao.
I finished the line-art for the characters, and the silhouettes.

and finally, at 1:00 in the morning, I sent this full color unshaded drawing and. surely i went to bed right?

...I sent this at 2:00 AM.

yeah my brain was broken. i spent another hour rendering the rocket. I considered just using the CGI render by Holly, but the visual mismatch would have been pretty bad. Plus, I like how I did the Cerritos in Guzcomic, still looking both metallic and realistically lit but also storybook kinda feel. The sunlight shading was simple enough, but making the self-illuminated parts of the ship shine was really cool. The glowing bits use a combination of normal blend modes and blurred Screen blend modes on top of the line-art layer to look a little like bloom. I'm not fully happy with the radiator illumination, it looks a little on the unconvincing side, but the radiator emissive glow looks great, and the illumination coming from the cloak ring and the warp rings looks great. By the way, the red glowing end-caps which look like star trek's bussard collectors are just big warning lamps indicating a radioactive nuclear or antimatter rocket. The nacelles are rocket tanks and engines; the warp drive is one of the big rings.
THEN i went to bed, for real this time.
In the morning all that remained was to add the flags on their shoulders and do the final shading/rendering on the crew.

and finally I finished the job. There were a few touches I saved for last, like rim highlighting from the engines on the characters, and colored reflections from each other's uniforms, but that didn't take too long. Oh, and Martin got her psychic energy being in the last hour too. Overall I worked from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM that day.

The final drawing has some easter eggs to look out for that would never appear in the format of a podcast thumbnail. So feel free to zoom in and look around. I like placing little easter eggs and visual gags in my art. :)

Character art according to the reference image(s) you provided.
SFW art only. All private parts should be covered.
I mostly draw humanoid characters and don't have much experience drawing anthro, but you can give it a shot.
Multiple characters and couples (the price indicated is for one character, total = price x character number).
Additional fee:
Animated art: I can make the character blink, give you a smile or add movement to a small body part (fingers, animal ears etc)/surroundings
Highly detailed: the character design is very complicated and will take more time to draw; think Genshin Impact characters, as an example
Background: as proxy, just add some blurry colours, gradients or patterns, but this option is for those who want background art (please note that highly detailed environment art is out of my skillset, the background will be simpler/less detailed than the character(s))
The fee will be calculated based on the difficulty of the work. It can cost up to $50 for each option.
Urgent commission: if you need the piece to be finished fast or before a particular date, please tell me that, and I'll see if I can do that. It is possible, but not always a requirement, that I'll ask for an additional payment, if your deadline will require me to make significant changes to my schedule.
How I work:
I'll start working on your piece after I receive the full payment. (Payment process is described, again, here)
I will show you a rough sketch first and wait for your confirmation of the pose and composition. Then the flat-colored lineart or sketch, and wait for you to check if I got the character design right. After that, you'll receive the finished artwork. There'll be additional steps in case your commission includes animation or background. Corrections to what you've already confirmed, as in, changing the pose after I've sent you the lineart, will only be made for additional fee.
I will try to provide you with a decent estimation of when I'll finish your commission based on my schedule and the difficulty of the work, but generally, it will take 2 weeks/14 days ~ 3 month/90 days.
If, for some reason, I am unavailable to deliver your commission, you'll be provided with full refund regardless of whether I started working on the piece or not. Also feel free to ask for a refund yourself if you haven't received your piece in 90 days after you made the payment. However, in any other situation, trying to get refunded through the service after I started working on your piece without trying to contact me will get you blacklisted.

Sunday Evening -- the Moonlight 
"Ladies and Gentlemen... Welcome to the Moonlight. The opening act for tonight, a sexy little number from "Chicago"!"
You got this, Tankhun Theerapanyakul. You will slay this stage!
The flirty and seductive intro of “All That Jazz” blared from the sound system and filled this intimate jazz club. Tankhun, who stood by himself in the center of the stage with his back to the audience, began to move to the beat of the music.
Turn your body around, slowly…
Raise your right arm up, 
And now your left,
Open your legs to the right, bend the knee slightly.  
That’s perfect, display your long legs. 
Turn your body and face to the right,
Now lower your right hand,
Hold the pose. 
Make it smoking HOT.  
Turn your body again, facing the audience now,
Puff out your chest, pull your arms back slightly, 
Look straight ahead, full of confidence,
Now walk forward, seductively,
Wave your hands to the left and right, along with your steps,
Drag your feet a little, 
Step, drag… step, drag…. step, drag…
Catch his eyes, smirk at him, make him squirm. 
Chan stared at him non-stop with his mouth slightly open before finally gulping. Tankhun smiled with satisfaction. 
O Captain! My Captain! Hold on to the table... this is only the beginning.
Open your legs again,
This time make it wider and bend your legs lower,
Hold the pose.
Raise your right hand up, then lower it,
And place it in the middle of your right thigh.
Are you ready, Cap? 
🎶 Come on babe, why don't we paint the town?

Don't let his gaze stray from you…
🎶 It's just a noisy hall, where there's a nightly brawl

Several naughty catcalls sounded from the audience. Tankhun smiled in amusement seeing Chan clenching his fists and looking so scary and so ready to attack. But Chan didn't move an inch from his chair and kept his gaze focused on Tankhun.
Ooh, is somebody getting possessive? Good. Keep it that way. You won’t see other people with that kind of look ever again.
Tankhun was so ready for another round of torture for Chan. 
🎶 Slick your hair and wear your buckle shoes
And all that jazz
I hear that Father Dip is gonna blow the blues
And all that jazz

(Chan POV)
These were the longest three minutes of Chan's life.
Was he even breathing? Chan really couldn't remember. In his head, right now, there was only Tankhun. 
Tankhun and his tight black shirt that clung to his slender body. Tankhun and his black vest, which were also tight, perfectly accentuated the curves of his back, slim waist, and perky ass. Tankhun and his shiny black sequin hot pants that show off those killer legs that Chan loves so much. He didn't know whether the black sheer stockings made things better or worse. Chan -- for sure -- didn't want anyone else to see Tankhun's bare skin but THAT stocking made his baby look so alluring. Too alluring! 
When one or two spectators, who were sitting behind him, cat-called Tankhun, Chan almost lost it. He was so damn close to dragging and punching those bastards, but he just couldn't take his eyes off Tankhun. He couldn't even breathe to save himself! It seemed like he truly was not breathing during Tankhun's performance, because Chan needed an Oxygen tank, like now!
After bowing many times to the audience and receiving a standing ovation for his performance, the sexy scientist finally stepped down the stage to walk towards Chan, who was still trying to catch his breath. And, of course, Tankhun had to walk exactly like the way he was walking in his performance just now. That step and drag routine really drove Chan mad, so he decided -- for the sake of his sanity -- to just walk up to Tankhun and hug his slender body tightly. Chan needed to make Tankhun stop moving, for his movement was too lethal tonight. 
"Is this your revenge?" asked Chan desperately in Tankhun's ear. "Baby, please tell me that this is your revenge."
Tankhun giggled happily before raising his head and replying, "What if I say that it’s not my revenge?"
"Then I have to call the police to report an attempted murder."
Another happy giggled. It was the most beautiful sound. 
"Sweet mouth."
"Hey, I’m just being honest here,” stated Chan. “Your revenge... I mean, your performance, was as epic as you promised me at the Deli.” 
Tankhun was stunned as he stared at Chan intently, no longer giggling. 
For a moment there, Chan felt worried that he had created another awkward atmosphere, just like he did at last week's dinner. But, the Captain couldn’t detect any bad vibes coming from Tankhun this time. He just kept looking at Chan -- not as intense as earlier though, before in the end asking him in a soft voice, “Should I be flattered, Captain?"
Out of the blue, after asking that question, Tankhun’s cheeks were flushed. Not only that, the sassy Doctor was also lowered his gaze demurely. 
It was his turn to be stunned now. Something had changed in Tankhun's demeanor tonight, and even though Chan could see it with his own eyes, still, he didn't know the exact reason that caused this development. He refused to assume about something that was not certain, especially because he had once taken the wrong step. So, he chose to play it safe and not second guess the answer. The last thing Chan wanted was to get his hopes up too high, only to end up in disappointment later on. Yet, it doesn't mean that Chan couldn’t enjoy what he can to the fullest, right? 
Damn right!
So, once again, Chan pulled Tankhun's body towards him and hugged him tightly.
"You should."
