TMAGP 26 SPOILERS

Sorry this is late, I didn't have time to listen to the episodes last night 😭

Pre - Case (Sam, Celia, and Alice):

Celia classified the case as "dog?" Idk, it's been bothering me (like it was with Sam) because it had no cross-reference whatsoever. Putting that aside, this scene, it felt like Celia was manipulating Sam a little bit? Like the tone she had while asking Sam what he was worried about felt werid. It could be just me but idk.

Yay! Establishing and respecting boundaries about the Institute! /pos

Helen tried to eat Celia, so it makes sense that she would bring a big knife to their meeting. "It is remarkably easy to buy an axe in Central London."

Also, can we take a moment to appreciate the word "Magnussing?" It was very clever on Alice's part, and I have a feeling that will become a new word in the language of the OIAR.

Case (Chester):

This case is Eye-related, mainly because of [Error], but it also feels like the End a bit? Not just because Rumins's father and Jarrod died, but when Rumins's father died - so did his love of running and his relationship with Jarrod.

The line "...if I took my eyes off him, something truely awful would happen." reminded me of Graham in TMA, the person that told his neighbor to keep watching and was later taken by the Stranger (specifically a Not-Them). Maybe Rumins is Eye aligned?

Jarrod's statememt (or at least the fragment we get) "They're coming now and getting close and when I slow and when I stop they will catch me and they will hurt me." makes him seem like he was a victim of a fear before [Error], as he is forcibly giving a statement. Perhaps he was a victim of the Hunt (his running reminds me of prey running from a predator)?

[Error] is an Archivist!!!! (Annabelle Cane theory fell through, but failed Archivist theory still stands lol)

Post Case (Alice and Gwen):

I really like the Alice/Gwen back and forth here, even if it was a small bit. You can really see how each character shines through here!/pos

Post Case (Helen):

Helen is getting a section dedicated to her because something feels off with her.

Helen yay!!!!!!!!!!! (She is my favorite character from TMA so I am so happy)

Helen feels like she's reading off a script? IDK how to put it, but it feels like she's trying to manipulate Sam and Celia with a facade. When they start talking about the Institute, her voice lost it's softness, and it feels more real. I might be reading into this way too much, though.

She seems to have a good amount of information on the Institute. I wonder if she will have a reoccurring role...

Institute requirements - big basement, security options - what was the Institute doing? What kind of experiements were they partaking in?

Helen hasn't had contact with the Institute in 20 years, and she assumes all contacts are out of date, and she can't share them because of a GDPR. She could be hiding something. I wonder if she's had contact with Gertrude since she was firm about nor giving up contacts. Maybe she wants to try to steer them away from information, like Gertrude?

She is giving Celia and Sam real estate information that relates to the Institute, violating her GDPR... She is most definitely manipulating them in some way. We know that she wants to be featured in the documentary, but I wonder if there's more.

Also, her laugh - it is very reminiscent of the distortion. It says so in the transcript, lol. I wonder if this is a different path for her, sort of like Gerry. With Gerry, instead of being traumatized, he's happy. Maybe with Helen, she feels more in line with the Spiral as time went on. So instead of being forcibly turned into the Distortion, could this be a path where she slowly Becomes on her own? It would be cool to see how the Distortion could come to be, without forcing someone to it's heart.

Post Case (Sam and Celia):

Sam is worried because he and Alice let out [Error], which is to be expected, but Celia? It feels like she's more disappointed here, not knowing how to outplay [Error], since they don't act like Jon. It's a bit suspicious on her part.

Celia is very nervous around Helen, which makes sense because, again, Helen tried to eat her.

Sam and Jack are so cute, I love his little impression of Helen!

Celia said she felt like they were being watched - perhaps [Error] is on to them?

The Celia and Sam scene - where they flirt and kiss - it felt wrong to me? This could be because I'm demi romantic and sex - adversed ace, but it didn't feel right. Sam is awkward during their conversation and seems uncomfortable at first, while Celia is not. It feels like Celia is manipulating him again. She's trying to get closer to Sam and pushing him further down the Magnussing route in order to figure out how/why she is in the TMAGP universe.

I might add more to this later, because I feel like I'm missing things....

Overall though, I really liked the case and the character interactions, especially with Helen and Alice/Gwen!

A CYLING ACCIDENT AND A HEART THING? ARE JON AND MARTIN IN THIS UNIVERSE OR NOT? STOP MESSING WITH ME!

Okay, now that all my incoherent screeching is out of the way, let me get some sensible stuff down. This statement hit me really hard, like making me cry a little hard. It just hurt to hear the statement giver talk about how she hated herself so much that she was literally destroying herself to make another version of herself that she thought was better than her in every way. Like "I already like her more than me" hit me like a truck. And I found it so creepy that it kept saying there were no comments on her posts, yet she kept saying she was doing certain things because other people told her to. Like, who was telling her if there were no comments?

Hearing Gwen cry is the saddest fucking thing, thank God Alice was there. And thank God Gwen tried talking about what's been happening to her again and Alice listened and believed her and took her seriously. And they're starting to connect the dots. And Alice said what I was thinking: Error is after them and possibly wants to get them all at once. The only thing I'm wondering now is if Alice is going to tell Gwen about Celia and Sam digging into the Institute. Like, it's all connected, they just gotta connect a few more dots.

[a/n: so i was listening to self love from the across the spider-verse album/soundtrack and i kept on listening to it while playing ranked so i ended up writing this while playing and really ran with it! gwen's dialogue really pushed me to write this. it would've been longer if it were an actual fic but i hope you enjoy 🫶🏻]

Miguel considered himself a player back in college. Infamous for swooning over girls to try and get them in his bed. At least, that was the rumors. He targeted almost every girl in their major, from freshmen to graduating. His favorite target was you, Gwen Stacy.

You were an only child trying to keep up the appearance that your parents raised a perfect young lady. You rarely went out and only ever had one boyfriend. You were finishing your undergraduate degree in hopes of pursuing a PhD in Biology and to hopefully work for Alchemax, one of Nueva York’s biggest chemical corporations.

It was finals and truthfully, you were cramming almost everything. You had a paper due in a couple of hours and you had to review all of the syllabus word for word if you want to ace your exams. So here you were, in your quiet university library trying to finally finish your undergraduate degree when a certain someone decided to disturb you. You were looking at the screen of your laptop while taking notes with your tablet. A few strands of your hair managed to get itself on the side of your face. You raised your hand to tuck it back in when a hand beat you to it. You looked at your left to see the most annoying and smug face you have seen. Ever.

“Hey. Gwen Stacy, right? Daughter of Chief of Police, Chief George Stacy and Doctor Helen Stacy?” Miguel asked with a smirk. You raised an eyebrow at him before looking back at your laptop to continue reading the slideshow. He chuckled and sat on the long table beside your bag.

“Hard to get, Miss Stacy?” He asked again with another smirk. You looked at him and narrowed your eyes. “Very.”

Miguel let out a chuckle and ran a hand through his hair. “Care for a coffee date?” He asks again. You rolled your eyes in annoyance. What did this human turd want? You just wanted to finish university and get your PhD and start working. He’s just a bother. “No.” You answered sternly before going back to your notes.

“C’mon. It’ll be my treat.”

“...”

“Please?”

“...”

When Miguel realized you weren’t going to reply, he slammed your laptop shut. “Hey!” You exclaimed in annoyance. He laughed and crossed his arms. “Will you answer me now?”

“No.”

“Please with a cherry on top?” He asked again with hopeful eyes.

“Look, Miguel is it?” You stood up and looked at him. “I said no, already didn’t I? We all know about your very colorful affairs and I am not going to be one of them.” You were yelling by now and the rest of the students in the library were looking over at the pair of you. You glared at Miguel and you could see a hint of hurt in his eyes. You quickly stuffed your laptop and tablet in your bag, leaving him by himself as you left the library to study at your house.

The very next day, you were woken up by your dad knocking on your door. “Honey, someone wants to see you.” His voice muffled by the door. You groaned and sat up, rubbing your eyes as it adjusted to the lighting. “Who?” You asked tiredly, slipping on your fuzzy slippers your friend had gifted you. “A guy named Miguel.” As soon as you heard those words, it was as if cold water was poured over your head. “Uh, I’ll be right there, dad!” You replied and sauntered over to your bathroom to make yourself decent. No way were you letting that human turd see you as a mess.

After a while, you headed downstairs and saw your father and Miguel conversing in the dining room. A maid placed a plate for Miguel to which he accepted gratefully. Your dad seemed pleased with Miguel. “What exactly are you doing in my house on a Tuesday morning, O’hara?” You spat out rudely. Miguel smiled as you entered the room and sat across from him.

“Gwen.” Your dad warned you. You crossed your arms as the maid from earlier put a plate in front of you as well as a cup. She poured orange juice in the cup as you glared at the man across from you.

“Dad, Miguel and I aren’t even close. We aren’t even friends!” You exclaimed as you tried to decipher why your father decided to let him in. “Well, if you aren’t friends, why did he just ask me if he could court you?”

That morning was eventful. Miguel and your father had been bonding and had even approved of Miguel courting you. Hell, Miguel brought flowers for you and your mom. You don’t know how he even knew your favorite flowers when you never conversed before. You had to pull him aside and asked him what the hell was he doing to which he answered: “I’ve liked you for years, I just want to shoot my shot.”

Somehow, you don’t know how, you warmed up to him. He went with you to Alchemax and was very supportive of your choices. Miguel bought you your favorite chocolates every week, and surprised you with romantic dinners. A few months into him courting you, you made it abundantly clear that you wouldn’t sleep with him until after a year you started dating. He also became your boyfriend that day. Miguel respected your choice and made an effort to give you a secure relationship.

Even after years, when Miguel managed to get his DNA spliced with that of a spider’s, you stood by him. You left Alchemax to work for a pharmaceutical company as you could never forgive what happened with Miguel. You supported Miguel in being Nueva York’s ‘Spider-man.’ You gave him massages, left food for him to eat, waited for him to come home. He was very much grateful for you. He knew he wanted to marry you the moment he laid eyes on you at an orientation of a class you took together freshman year. Miguel only proposed one night after a brutal fight with the Vulture.

Miguel stumbled in through the unlocked window of your shared bedroom. He was badly bruised and his whole body ached. The commotion caught your attention from the kitchen and was quick to run in the room. Miguel tugged off his mask and threw it on the bed. When you saw Miguel’s bruised face, you let out a gasp and helped him sit on the bed.

“I told you to not get hurt, didn’t I?” You exclaimed as you ran to the kitchen to get a pack of frozen corn to help soothe Miguel’s swollen face. He let out a chuckle and only looked at you as you held the pack to his cheek. “Jesus, what am I going to do with you, hm?” You asked softly as your fingers brushed over his other swollen cheek. You sniffed as you felt yourself becoming teary-eyed at Miguel’s state. He was badly bruised and you knew he would do it all over again to keep the city safe. To keep you safe. “You should marry me.” Miguel replied softly with a smile. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion. He shuffled to his nightstand and with a few grunts and groans he held out a small velvet box. You dropped the pack of frozen corn beside him and looked into his eyes.

“Marry me, Gwen Stacy. You’re the love of my life. I knew I loved you the moment I laid eyes on you in Professor Jacob’s class. You gave me a chance to love you. You stayed with me throughout everything that happened at Alchemax and sacrificed the career you built there for me. I can’t see myself with anyone else besides you. Will you marry me?”

Needless to say the wedding was grand. Almost the whole police department of Nueva York showed up to ensure that the wedding was secure. Your batch mates who were genuinely surprised at the pair you and Miguel had even showed up. And after a week long honeymoon in Switzerland, you were ecstatic. But good things come to an end, right?

When an anomaly from another dimension managed to severely injure you, Miguel was set on figuring out how to travel the multiverse. And when he did, he recruited every Spider-Men, Spider-Women, hell even a Spider-Car to ensure that anomalies are dealt with accordingly so they couldn’t do the damage they did to you.

As you were recovering from your injuries, Miguel was quick to discover that for every Spider-Man that had a Gwen Stacy, she always dies. It led him to spiral into keeping you safe and he almost always made sure that you call him when you leave the house and get home.

However, despite the best of his abilities, he was unable to save you as the Green Goblin threw you off a clock tower. Miguel managed to wrap his makeshift webs around you but it was too late. Your head hit the ground and you were gone.

Miguel tried his best to move on, focusing on his work and the Spider Society. As he looks at the picture of you in your wedding dress smiling at the camera, in Miles’ world, Gwen was looking at Miles as they sat upside down.

“In every other universe, Gwen Stacy falls for Spider-Man,” She paused to look into Miles’ eyes before gazing out at the city. “And in every other universe, it doesn’t end well.”

I have a lot of feelings about TMAGP 23, and I gotta let them out. As much as I would love to talk about the amazing statement and the other lovely moments between the cast, I am unfortunately very stuck on one specific part, and not in a good way.

Spoilers below cut:

I'm gonna be perfectly honest, this one hurt me way more than I thought, and I'm worried about my enjoyment of the series.

I truly want to enjoy Protocol for what it is. I've been an Alice defender since day 1, I love her moment with Gwen this episode, I love that Lena seems to be showing a bit more care for her employees. But even with all that, I can't keep doing this with the TMA references.

Look, I've never in my entire 32 goddamn years of living felt like a character in media represented me. Ever. And now I have two. Jon and Martin's relationship feels like seeing parts of myself love each other despite their problems. It's a relationship that resembles the one I have with my partner, and I see a lot of him in Martin especially. Listening to TMA was a wonderful experience because, yes, I knew it was a tragedy and I wish they could have a happy ending, but it was the ending they earned, and they got to go together, and the ambiguity was good enough for me.

I want to enjoy the new writers, the new characters, the focus on alchemy and try to piece together what's happening in the story with everyone else because I missed out on that with having binged TMA after the fact. I cannot do that if they keep taking the corpses of characters I love and dangle them in front of me with the vague hope that they might spring back to life.

But they teased that maybe Jon and Martin can be okay in one reality. I've seen people say they haven't, but between the "Hey, this sounds like them in therapy!" bit, and the Gerry and Gertrude scene, I genuinely believe they did to a degree, even if unintentionally.

Maybe we could have something nice, just one little scrap of "they're happy somewhere else" with the TMAGP versions as a nice cameo. I got my hopes up, hopes I didn't ask for, only to be told "Oh, they never knew each other, and they're dead. If they're happy together in any reality, it sure isn't fuck in this one. The characters you relate to more than anything can never be happy, and you're stupid for thinking that they can ☺️."

This hurts. I feel like I've been stabbed. We were told explicitly this could be enjoyed separately, and that Jon and Martin's ending would be left ambiguous. Unless they pull the rug out from under us and say "Oh, Fr3ddi isn't Jon and Martin at all" (which I've been saying since the beginning. I'm of the "stolen voices" camp and I hope that's what it is, or something else.) then I'm now listening to a show where my favorite characters are suffering, again. And even if they do, the versions in TMAGP are presumably dead anyway.

It's like in fanfiction how you always tag stuff like "Bad endings" or "Major character death". You do that because people have grown attached to these characters and don't always want to watch them suffer again (or do, then you filter by it). The new characters I signed up for hearing their pain and torment, I don't know them yet, and I want to see how their stories play out even if it's painful. But I feel like I'm reading an untagged fanfic right now that is cutting into the original story I did want to listen to.

I want this to be its own thing. I want to care about Alice and Gwen and Sam so when they inevitably die I can feel like I did with TMA again, in a sort of reverent peace with things.

And then chasing that with "Oh, also, Basira and Helen-" just felt like extra salt.

I don't want people to take this as being cruel to the writers, or that I'm being entitled. I genuinely didn't want them to have to dive too deep back into TMA, I'm here for the new stuff. And I'm sure I'll get a bit of "this isn't the genre for you, then, horror is-" I know. I've been engaged with horror since I was much too young. It's my favorite genre. I'm fine with character death. I thought TMA handled it very well.

But I can't pretend that this doesn't hurt, either. I'm sure they have more planned, that this could just be a red herring, but that doesn't stop this from hurting right now when I have no idea what comes next.

I had a glimmer of hope that I was perfectly fine with watching from afar, that they made into a beacon too impossibly bright to ignore. Then, when I steer my boat towards it, I'm lured onto the jagged rocks. Just because they throw me a life preserver a few weeks later doesn't remove the water from my lungs.

Idk. I know some people are excited about this, and I hope they get everything they're looking for out of the story, but I worry that at this rate, I might not. At least not until the wound heals some more.

Okay, I'm gonna go back to writing fanfiction where they get to be happy. Pretty sure that's as close as I'm going to get.

Oh, yes Lena, try to dissuade our unhinged obsessed researcher to drop a mystery. That worked great didn't it.

Finding a piece ? What piece ? What do you need to be complete ? Is it a connection to an Entity ? To me, this kinda screams Lonely, given that right now, the guy is 'missing a piece'. It'll probably have to do with something Corruption-like later.

Also, the pseudonym of this person ? Alnewman ? Finding this piece will change them, and that's what they want. I'd say this is again something to somewhat do with alchemy, because creating a perfect human was a focus of some alchemist through the ages (homonculus and all that).

A... coral piece ? Oh this is going down a route I'm not sure I like. Transformation and doppleganger ? Not reassuring at all.

Scalpels ? Bandages ? She ? Are they- Are they going to cut parts of themself and feed it to the coral in order to transform it to look like the woman of their dreams ?

Oh they put it inside didn't they ? Inside their thigh. Wait didn't Athena in greek mythology birth like that, from Zeus' thigh ? There's a methaphor here I can smell it.

"I know how many eyes a normal human haves" AND THERE WE HAVE IT !!!!! What's the probability Jonny and Alex casted a woman to play Error just to lead us in the wrong direction and that it's Jon ? It's unlikely, there are more chances Error was an Institute experiment, but I can hope.

Oh, Alice, we're really in it now. They're after us.

Final Comments :

Really interested to see Alice's developpement as she drops the "ignore it and it'll be fine" act.

And Celia is very clearly targetting Magnus characters. She mentionned Basira but not Daisy, which make sense because she died before they could meet, and she already knows Georgie, and probably Melanie as well. I'm not surprised she wouldn't try to look for other members of the cult, because they aren't very knowedgeable of the supernatural apart from what they'd seen during the apocalypse.

Error is clearly an Eye thing, maybe related to Archives, maybe not. Probably an Archivist or an experiment.

And Lena either knows about the response department and what it does, and is trying to stop Sam indirectly before he gets hurt, or she doesn't, which is genuinely more terrifying.

Regarding the case itself, I think it might be worth it to check homonculus stuff and alchemy related things.

This response department thing is genuinely bothering me. Everyone seems so convinced that it doesn't exist which means it probably DOES exist and is not a good thing. Sam you REALLY shouldn't be filling out those forms, methinks...

Lena trying push him away from the paperwork is suspicious, it actually makes me more certain that he's basically inviting in some monster since it's clear that Lena does want to keep her employees alive and mostly unharmed.

Her instincts were warring. Years as a hero said that somebody had to intervene, break things up before things got bad. The survival instinct she’d sworn she’d beaten back by now said that to do so was dangerous, an easy way to get very hurt.

There was a several foot circle of bare space around Kevin and Manny as they went at each other. One smaller, more nimble, the other stronger, with more martial training than anyone else in their group. One would lunge, the other would dodge or toss. Rolling, wrestling, biting, punching. There were specks of blood on the floor and both of them sported something between a smirk and a sneer.

Helen’s clawed hand dropped onto her shoulder, and when she looked her brow was raised judgingly.

“Tetramand and an Ossy,” she said like Gwendolyn was being an idiot. “Let them have their fun.”

Gave you plenty of time to get ready" He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, hoping she'd find the humor in all this. She didn't. " you know ben if I'm not a priority, then just say so, you don't have to do this"

This was the 8th time ben had been late to a date they had planned, the 8th time she sat for hours on her couch hoping he'd ring her doorbell already. " you are a priority to me! But Vilgax was-" " attacking the city, doing something terrible, yeah yeah I've heard that before" she finished for him, waving her right hand at him.

She huffed angrily as she sat down on her bed with her arms folded across her chest, her eyes not leaving her boyfriend. "look jules I'm here now, I know we missed our reservation but I can make some calls to get us in somewhere" ben tried to reason. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and began to quickly dial some phone numbers. He wanted to show her that he did want to spend time with her and wasn't blowing her off for no good reason. " yeah right until another something else happens and you have to rush off again" she grumbled under her breath. Ben tightened his grip on his phone. He was starting to get annoyed now. " what do you want me to do then? Let people die?"

he could never understand why Julie didn't see why he did what he did. He was saving people, being a hero and she didn't want that? " why does it always have to be you? Why can't you ever have Gwen or Kevin do something about it? " Julie stood up again and walked to Ben. They stood in front of each now, both breathing deeply as they tried to keep calm and not explode into chaos.  " I can't have this conversation with you again, I'm tired of explaining things and you never understand me!" Julie's eyes widened. " well if I'm so non understanding, why do still bother with me?" she snapped. She could never understand why Ben never looked at things from her perspective. She knew he was trying to help and was trying to save the world. But there were tons of times anyone else could've helped out instead of him. Gwen, Kevin, Rook, Manny, Cooper, Helen. Plumbers. The list was long of all the people who could fill in for Ben if necessary. Why couldnt Ben ever try to get out of hero work and put her first? Him running away all the time and never trying to put her first for anything bugged her. A lot. " you're right. What am I still doing here?" he turned his heel and walked out her bedroom door. Julie slumped back down in her bed, tears flowing down her face. She buried her face in her palms as she wondered how much longer she could put up with the cycle of arguments and misunderstandings between the two that always resulted in one of them walking out before a solution could be reached. Last time it was she who walked out in the middle of an argument, today it was Ben. Perhaps they both knew what each argument led up to hence walked out before the end was reached so as to avoid it. Ship bounced in looking concerned. "shiiipp?" He noticed her upset and immediately began turning into objects. She always clapped and cheered him on when he did, and hoped it would lift her spirits now as well. It didn't. " I'm not really in the mood Ship" Ship turned back, and bounced onto her lap. Julie huged him closer as she continued to cry. " you know, ship has many uses, but being used as a tissue isn't one of them" Julie hadn't even noticed Ben had walked back into the room, but did it even matter that he did? He sat down beside her, holding a box of tissues in front of her. She pulled out two and wiped the tears off her face. " I'm sorry Julie, I didn't mean to hurt you. I do want to-" But she cut him off before he could finish. " ben read the cover of the magazine on my table"  Ben raised his eyebrow at her, but quietly obliged. He looked over at what she wanted to show him. In the cover was picture of her, smiling as she lifted her first place trophy for winning the interstate championship. " read what it says on the cover" she said softly. " top 10 way to get rid of foot odor? Come on jules, you know I've already tried everything" Julie smirked as she placed her head on his shoulder. It fit perfectly. " no stupid, the headline" " oh right. Ben Tennyson's girlfriend, the top 20 under 20. Woah congratulations babe, my girlfriends in the top 20 list for best tennis players, why didn't you tell me before? " She dropped her smile, " that's the problem" Ben didn't quite get what she was trying to tell him. Was she upset to be on the cover? " my names Julie Yamamoto, yet it seems like it my relationship to you was more important to mention. even the whole article on me inside, my names mentioned once but my relationship to you has been mentioned over a 100 times." Ben looked over the cover again, slowly starting to see the issue. " I'm so sorry, but I didn't have anything to do with this " " I know you didn't ben. I'm not accusing you of doing it on purpose. " " I can fix this. Don't worry I'll have Gwen talk to the editor and-" But Julie didn't want quick fixes anymore. " Ben! Why don't you get it? My identity is slipping. I'm no longer Julie, I'm Ben Tennysons girlfriend. First I lost my boyfriend to fame, and no I'm starting to lose myself.First I lost my boyfriend to fame, and no I'm starting to lose myself.

I - " She began to cry again before she could finish. Ben put his arm around her and pulled her closer. He sighed. He knew what was going to happen next was inevitable anyway, despite their attempts in the past to prove otherwise. " Julie I'm.. I'm sorry. I don't know what to do." He took a deep breath in "Maybe it's time" " time for what?" she looked up to his face. " time we let each other go. It's time for you to be with someone who makes you happy" he finished. It was hard to say it out loud, but how much longer were they going to pretend things would work out? She got closer and placed a small kiss on his cheek. Ship hopped off her lap so as to not stand in their way. " I'm sorry I couldn't be the right girl for you. I hope someday you find one who is, and who loves you unconditionally for who you are "  and she meant every word of it. Ben began to tear up now, " I'm sorry I couldn't be the guy you wanted. Believe me I tried. "

" I know you did " He wrapped both arms around her as she cried into his jacket. His tears began to fall as he buried his face in her neck. " you'll always be special to me Julie"  he whispered. " and you to me Ben"

Duncan: Desolation (he destroys everything he touches for his own satisfaction. His relationships, private property, exc.)

Cody: Lonely (no matter how many people he talks to or matches together he’s always single and alone, and his social awkwardness wards people off)

Owen: Vast, maybe Web (his fear of flying and also being voted out quickly and his vying for attention are Vast 100% but also the fact Chris used him as a spy in TDA speaks to web)

Noah: Web (his unwillingness to be manipulated by Alejandro or forced to participate by other players is very webby)

Heather: Web or Hunt (she’s manipulative and almost always gets what she wants, but also her preying on others and being adamant about her goals is Hunt shit so idk)

Trent: Stranger (his fear of mines, the way everyone finds his number nine compulsion so uncanny, the way he’s put off when Gwen starts acting different in TDA? Yea that’s the stranger. I could definitely see a statement where he talks about always seeing mimes mimicking him and he begins to mimic others and can’t stop)

Katie and Sadie: Stranger (the parallels with Breekon and Hope kill me. They act and look so uncannily alike. Could be interesting if one of them started mimicking the other too and the other is disturbed)

Izzy: Spiral (shes fucking wild)

Eva: Slaughter (full of rage)

Bridgette: Hunt (her fear of being in the woods and her connection with animals is all Huntcore)

Geoff: Web or Lonely (seeing as he’s such a party dude, I could see him being terrified of what it’s like to not be surrounded with people, but also the way he becomes more manipulative in TDA is kinda web-ish)

Leshawna: I honestly dunno. I wanna say Slaughter because of her attitude towards Heather, but also her realist view reminds me of a Spiral victim like Helen, and her actions in TDA are reminiscent of a Web avatar. I’m gonna say Slaughter is the strongest.

Harold: Dark (fear of being sneaked up on by ninjas first off, but also considering how much he knows about everything, I think being in the dark would terrify him)

DJ: Hunt (his animal curse in WT but it manifests to be like way worse)

Ezekiel: Corruption or Hunt (him going feral and becoming a monster is classic corruption but his determination to win through any means necessary is very Hunt)

Tyler: Lonely (his need to impress everyone with his sports stunts and his constant attempts to get Lindsay to remember him? Yea lonely)

Justin: Flesh (his fear of being ugly and the importance he puts in his looks are classic Flesh behavior)

Alejandro: Flesh (he’s manipulative like a Web avatar, but also a lot of his charm comes from his looks, and his fear of putting gross food in his body is very Fleshy)

Sierra: Eye (she knows everything about everyone dude)

Gen 2:

Zoey: Lonely (she grew up ostracized in a small town and has a hard time making the friends she longs for, she’s definitely tied to the Lonely)

Cameron: Eye (once again, knows everything, and wants to experience everything. I could see him as Courtney’s runner-up or assistant, and marked by the buried because I can imagine his bubble would make him scared of being trapped again)

Mike: Web (he’s afraid of doing bad things against his will)

Mal: Slaughter (he just wants to fuck shit up and hurt people)

Vito: Flesh (also puts a lot of importance in his looks)

Manitoba: Hunt (explorer man)

Svetlana: Flesh (since she puts so much time and love into gymnastics, I think an incident involving injury would freak her tf out)

Chester: End (he’s old and wants to make the most of that)

Brick: Dark (he’s afraid of being lost without direction, as well as the literal dark)

Jo: Hunt (shes focused on winning almost exclusively)

Dawn: Extinction (she’s afraid of the earth and creatures on it withering away)

Anne Maria: Lonely (she puts so much emphasis on being seen and loved and gets volatile when people challenge that)

Scott: Web (he’s a master of scheming, what more should I say)

B: Eye (he’s afraid of others knowing about him and can’t give things up easily, but will use his knowledge to help when needed)

Staci: Stranger (she makes up so many lies for no gain besides attention and upsetting people. She’s like a car wreck you can’t look away from)

Dakota: Corruption (marked by the lonely because she needs attention to function, but I think her becoming dakotazoid and the terror she had getting there points to corruption. Also allegory of Hollywood destroying her blah blah blah)

Sam: Desolation (his self worth is put into material objects like video games and the destruction of them is shown to ruin him)

Lightning: Hunt (I know his body image leans into Flesh but his determination to win and arrogance are like that of a natural predator)

Gen 3:

Shawn: Extinction (I think he’s marked by corruption too because of his fear of zombies corrupting him, but the mass tragedy angle and doomsday prepping is very extinction-like)

Jasmine: Buried (claustrophobia, yea, but also her fear of being trapped by her feelings for Shawn point to buried. This ones kinda loose though, I could see her connected to the web or hunt too)

Sky: Flesh (similar to Svetlana, I think an injury as a gymnast would destroy her, also a big part of flesh is pride, and losing her pride and winning streak freaks Sky out)

Dave: Corruption (his germaphobia as well as his insistence on being with or ‘infecting’ Sky...yea that’s the corruption)

Scarlett: Eye (she knows a lot and uses it to watch and manipulate others)

Max: Web (he’s very methodical, if not smart, in his scheming, and him being outwitted by Scarlett freaked him tf out)

Ella: Lonely (I mainly say this for her fear of being hated by Sugar. I could also see Buried bc shes upset about Chris trapping her by revoking her ability to sing)

Leonard: Spiral (could also lean into Stranger, but his ability to convince so many people to believe in something that doesn’t exist purely with his own belief in magic is very Spirally, plus his frustration with Dave is much like Micheal’s with Jon when he could see through his bullshit, and him losing his ability to cast physical magic is very much like a Spiral victim’s descent back into humanity)

Beardo: Dark (put simply, we don’t know much about him, and he disguises any recognizable trait with sounds. Could also be Stranger)

Sugar: Hunt (fear of losing, exc. also the way she preys on others weaknesses for her own game, pun intended? Yea)

Sammy (I will not call her Samey in this house): Lonely (Amy traps her in a world where no one will talk to her or validate her ideas, it’s pretty sad. Could also see her touched by the Eye during her time impersonating Amy)

Amy: Web (she’s great at manipulating others into liking her)

Topher: Stranger (him trying to replace Chris and disillusion others to it is a pretty not-them move)

Rodney: Lonely (the fact that he’s constantly misunderstood and can’t connect with others because of it. Sad)

how does kilgharrah know merlins name? in prophecy hes known as emrys (and we see basically every magical being call him emrys and not merlin,, i think). so how does he know? did he stretch his neck long enough that he could somehow hear merlin? is it cuz theyre kin? is it cuz merlin and gaius were yelling so loudly that kilgharrah could hear them all the way in his cave? ig we’ll never know 🖐

the amount of sadness i feel hearing kilgharrah say “none of us can choose our destiny, merlin. and none of us can escape it” is INSANE cuz in season one you can SEE merlin trying to escape it. hes doing his damned best trying to have some control over his life. and then in later seasons you can see the light slowly drain from his eyes as he becomes just another toy for the gods to be entertained by. he realises he cant control a single thing about his life so he does the one thing he can: protect arthur. and he loses SO MUCH because of it! its not fair, he deserved so much, and when he finally got everything he could ever ask for, it was taken away from him by his own mistakes.

Conclusion: this episode is a 10/10 greatest episode with so many iconic scenes omg. mary collins u will forever have my heart for unintentionally kickstarting merlin and arthurs relationship destiny. i loved the whole thing and oh GOD does it already hurt knowing full well how the show ends

it's gonna take longer than a week to get over him. she knows that. even after purging her entire room of him, pictures, clothes and all put in a box and returned. but she also knows that she misses him so much that it physically hurts and she just wants it to stop as soon as possible. i have to let you go. if i don't, i'm gonna lose you and i have to keep you safe. he's just trying to keep her safe. gwen wants to be angry at him, but she can't. there were very few people who she knew that have lost as much as he had. the most selfless person she'd ever known and he loves her that much. he loves her that much that he's letting her go. if he can do that, then why can't she be in that selfless in return? why can't she just accept this? why can't she love him that much that she's okay with it? when peter parker left out gwen stacy's window that night, for the final time, he took her whole heart with him. ripped right out of her chest. wherever he was, that's where her heart was.

she loves him enough to let go and move on. she has to.

"i think you owe it to yourself and to him to tell him." her mother's voice appeared in the doorway of her room. "really?" "really." "you and dad didn't even like him." is all gwen can reply as she neatly packs stuff away in her suitcase. the university of oxford. a fresh start for the girl who's only ever known new york. she loved this city with every fiber of her being. but it was slowly becoming a painful reminder of everything that had been lost, feeling no longer like home. moving to another country wouldn't fix her overnight, but it was a start. new york was quite literally suffocating her. honestly, the blonde wanted to tell her ex boyfriend. she was going to tell him that night. countless nights were spent looking at her window, expecting, hoping he would show up again, staring at his contact name on his phone. nothing ever came of it. "i just don't want you to have any regrets, gwen." oh, helen stacy didn't know the half of it. it's not like gwen could tell her the real reason he broke up with her. whatever was between peter and gwen, stayed between peter and gwen. "i don't, mom."

then everything went black.

and her heart fell to her stomach in a second flat. what once was an air conditioned room, became increasingly warm. yet also incredibly bone chilling. something was terribly wrong. in most cities blackouts were nothing out of the ordinary. it was summer, of course. but in new york? it was always more. peter. peter. peter. she wants to go him, find out what's wrong. then as soon as that thought popped up in her brain, another one soon followed just as fast. he doesn't want her there. in fact, he explicitly told her to move on and forgot about him. he doesn't want her there and gwen definitely doesn't want to be there. it's not her problem, it's his. there is no doubt that he is more than capable to fix it himself. spiderman makes everything better. she just has to sit and wait until everything blows over. a good plan, a safe plan. because what was she supposed to do? go argue with spiderman in the street? the blonde already knew what he would say. go home, gwen. stay out of it, gwen. she's staying out of it. end of story.

just kidding, gwen stacy is definitely going to argue with spiderman in the street. oh, her dad is rolling in his grave right now.

"i have to go," the girl announced, rushing around her room. "where?" "it's complicated. i'll be back soon, okay? i promise." "gwen! gwen! where are you going?" the older blonde called out after her daughter who was running quite literally into a storm of chaos.

"answer your phone, parker." the blonde sighed, hanging up again after another yet voicemail. the summer air around as warm as it could be for late august. it was no use. there was no use in calling him. where are you, peter?

Madeline was still in a coma when it was time for Gwen's funeral. Helen and the boys would go visit Maddie hoping she would wake up soon. They didn't want to lose her too after the strong bond they created. Madeline's aunt Quinn came back home as soon as she got the news. She spent most of her time at the hospital then went home to sleep. Peter spent most of his time for months visiting Gwen's grave feeling terrible and visiting Maddie hoping she would wake up.

Harry, on the other hand after everything was taken to Ravencroft Institute. He got the news from Mr. Fiers, a guy on the outside, that Madeline was in a coma. Harry was just happy that she wasn't dead. If he wanted her dead in the very first place he wouldn't have tried to help her that day. He hates Peter but Harry was in love with her. He loved her but he wanted to slightly hurt her to hurt Peter.

If Madeline lost someone because of Peter she wouldn't want to be around him, and Peter wouldn't want her to be around him.

"Too bad about that spider guy. Too bad he's disappeared. Seems like everybody really needs him." May says as Peter turns off the news, getting up.

"Where you going?" She turns to him.

"Eat my cereal."

"Peter. Where you going?" She asks again.

"I don't know." He sighs turning to her.

"You know, it's so funny. I've been- I've been trying to clean up around here, get organized... and putting some of Ben's stuff in boxes. And it's so funny, the heavier the box gets, the lighter I feel." May tries to explain to him.

"You're throwing his stuff away?"

"No. No. God, no. I couldn't do that. It's part of me. I'm just finding... better place for it. I'm gonna take one last look... and I'm gonna put it where it belongs." She says before he goes to his room.

Peter finds Gwen's speech because Maddie promised Gwen she would make him watch it since he missed it. After watching Gwen's speech, Peter decides to clean up everything he's done to find the truth about his parents putting it away. He sees his Spider-Man suit and stares at it before putting it back on to help those who needed him.

Madeline shoots up in her hospital bed looking around the empty room. She sees the tv playing the news and grabs the remote to turn it up quickly but breaks the button. "What the?" She tries to drop it but it sticks to her hand. "It worked?" Maddie panics.

"You're awake! She's awake!" Her aunt Quinn shouts, making doctors and nurses rush to check in on her.

They were all shocked thinking she wouldn't wake up after not knowing what put her in a coma in the first place. They were even more confused to see that she was fine to go home right away after running tests on her.

At home Madeline sat in her room confused but slightly smiles getting off her bed jumping up to hold on to the ceiling. "Cool." She crawls around happily. "I've always been jealous of this." She jumps down sitting back on her bed.

She wanted to tell Peter about this but at the same time she didn't because he would worry about her now wanting to help him out more in dangerous situations.

"I'm gonna surprise May." Madeline tells her aunt, heading to the door.

"Hey, hey, hey. You just woke up from a coma after months. Calm down." Her aunt stops her from leaving.

"I'm fine. If I wasn't they wouldn't let me leave. I'm literally going four doors down." Maddie leaves, knocking on May's door.

When May opens it she bursts into tears pulling Maddie into a hug. Madeline explained everything to her and why they let her go home.

"I can't wait for Peter to get home and see you. He's been terrible. Going back and forth for Gwen's grave and you in the hospital." May wipes her tears away.

Madeline's heart breaks, realizing she never got to go to Gwen's funeral. "I wanna surprise Peter so I'll just be waiting in his room." Madeline goes up to Peter's room sitting down on his bed beginning to cry about Gwen. She looks over at Peter's laptop to see Gwen's graduation speech ready to watch again so she watches it, smiling through her tears.

"Aunt May, I'm gonna go change to go see Maddie.'' Peter walks into the house going up the stairs after fighting the rhino guy.

Madeline hears him after laying on his bed for awhile so she sits up crossing her legs on the bed facing the door. As he opens the door his eyes go straight to her. He didn't believe his eyes. He thought he was just imagining her sitting there with a smile on her face. As soon as she said hi he dropped his bag tackling causing her to laugh wrapping her arms around him. Peter hugs her tightly, beginning to cry into her neck.

"You're okay." She nods her head crying now too.

"I'm okay." He leans back just to lean back in, smashing his lips onto hers.

"How are you? Is anything different? They just let you go?" Peter asks her cupping her face.

"I'm fine. Nothing is different. And yes because there was no reason to keep me." She giggles as he kisses her again.

"So my blood just saved you? It didn't do anything to you?" He looks into her eyes.

"It just saved me." She lies to him slightly.

"I'm so sorry." He starts to cry again.

"Peter... Can you take me to her? I don't wanna go alone." Madeline's voice cracks but Peter nods his head.

When they get to Gwen's grave, Peter holds Maddie's hand as she looks at the headstone with teary eyes. "I know you tried, but you can't blame yourself, Peter." Maddie turns to look at him.

"But it-,"

"No, it's the clock's fault. It broke the web... You didn't. I know what I saw that night. You were stuck in a position with Harry. You didn't let the gear move, it exploded. You caught her but the whiplash of the web is what killed her. I don't blame you so don't blame yourself, please. You couldn't have stopped the whiplash from happening." Madeline cups his face making him look at her.

"Can I ask you a question about that night?" Peter asks her so she nods her head. "Why did Harry let me know you were falling?"

"He didn't want me to die. That was never his intentions. It was only to hurt me by taking away Gwen since I hurt him by not convincing you to help him. If I lost someone else close to me... You would know there's no hope being with me because you'll believe you will lose me too at some point too." She explains to him.

"He couldn't let you die because he loved you?"

"He tried to help me. He crawled over to where I was hanging and grabbed my hands. He only let go of me because a gear fell on top of him knocking him out." She adds.

Madeline swung by Gwen's place to see the family and they were happy to see she was awake and okay. Helen and her cried for a bit about Gwen then the boys were happy to still have a cousin who was a sister figure to them. She ended up staying to eat with them then went to Peter's to spend time with him.

I'm his bedroom Madeline watched Peter mess with his web shooters refilling them. "What do you do when you run out of what you got from Oscorp?" Madeline asks him.

"I've been doing some research and testing how to chemically make my own. I'm super close to it but I'm sure if I show you, you will get it right away." Peter makes her laugh.

"Well you gotta show me so I can help make them for you." She makes him give her a kiss.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Peter gets up walking over to her, "I'm still gonna stick to what I said on the bridge. You're my path. And you're always gonna be my path. And I know there's a million reasons why we shouldn't be together. But I will always choose you from now on."
