You probably remember my theory about the flooding that will destroy de red line, right? BUT what if... is not exactly produced by Luffy and allies but by Im-sama itself? what if Im believe the Red Line is once again their "salvation"?

We know Im and the WG posses "mother flame": the weapon that's able to make islands disappear and leave a huge hollow in the sea, right? [ in my opinion that thing is a dragon, a mechanical dragon/snake replicated by VP from the "real" one that was the one who created chaos during the void century. I have that theory here」. We also know what's happening now after Lulusia disspaeared; a hollow in the sea, an earthquake and the sea level rising for about 1mt more. That is causing islands to sink.

So what if Im will start attacking the people that live "under" the Red Line to drown them (like I believe happened 800 y/ ago) Tenryubitos will be "safe" since they are obviously pretty much above the waters (over the RL) . That's why Im wants Vivi, not only because of Lilly BUT ALSO because I believe they have something to do with the rain.

That's also why Joyboy had Noah... TO SAVE PEOPLE FROM THE FLOODING.

It is clear that Binks no Sake speaks about a storm coming so it's time to sound the drums of liberation!!

I think I was mistaken with who was going to bring THE STORM and create the flood... YET, THE RED LINE WILL BE DESTROYED BY LUFFY. That's WHY tenryuubitos wear those "helmets" THOSE ARE SUPPOSED TO GIVE THEM OXYGEN IF THEY EVER DROWN!! Is not that they "don't want to breathe the same air as the rest".

Day 72: Favorite part of Gyojin island arc?

When Jinbe reveals his connection to Arlong and apologizes to Nami for what he put her through, but she forgives him because she knows it wasn't his fault and that Arlong's actions are solely on him. By far the best moment of the arc.

The Gyojin Island arc isn't one of my favorites exactly but it's very connected to Nami, so another thing I really like is that there are two key moments related to the story between Nami and Arlong and each and every one of the mugiwaras will be present in one of the two.

In the first moment, when Hody reveals that he is a follower of Arlong, Nami is understandably troubled by it and Zoro and Usopp react in opposite ways: Zoro remains silent but notices the implications of that revelation (in the anime he even turns to Nami to look at her with some concern when he notices the change in her expression and it’s a neat parallel to the pool scene) and Usopp gets really angry (Usopp and Nami have one of the best relationships within the crew, argue with the wall). Brook learns about Nami's past at this point when Usopp explains it.

In the second moment, the rest of the mugiwaras are present during Jinbe's apologies and Chopper, Robin and Franky also discover Nami's story while Luffy and Sanji serve as support for her, each in their own way.

I love how even the arcs I’m not really fond of have these iconic moments in them.

31. One Piece - Gyojin Island Saga

I know we Sanuso shippers sound like a broken record moving in between Skypiea, Water 7, Enies Lobby, and Sabaody, but... Those really are crucial arcs for both of them. They show their core personalities, even before their actual arcs (WCI and, hopefully, Elbaf, if Oda gives my boy Usopp all the attention he deserves there) and they're always together. They're paired together in each of those and they're together to witness each other's important moments and growth. And I just think it's something so beautiful. It's not exactly that they have crucial scenes, it's the fact that they're together to support each other in them.

Just thought about something for a second: shanks is so fucking sketchy. He warned shirohige about blackbeard and to stop ace and look at what happened. Also now he is talking to the gorusei about luffy (probably about his fruit (joyboy/nika if I assume right) bc he was the one who found it) and now imu is after him, shirahoshi (poseidon) and vivi (who knows something about the weapon mariejoa holds bc of her family's history with the place), blackbeard is still a menace but because of having two fruits or because of being a d? Both? And what does that make him a menace at ancestral weapon level (like the others)? I have so many questions. Why does shanks like luffy but still warns the gorusei about him. Why do they respect him. Why did they let him stop marineford. Why is he so powerful. Why is he a yonkou. Shanks is key to all this and I DON'T KNOW WHY

Btw idk if some of you know this but one piece has its fair amount of g/t in it, little garden and the Gyojin island arc are PACKED with g/t content, although I wouldn’t recommend watching all 1072 episodes just for the g/t bc it’s not even a fraction of the show but y’all should watch it nonetheless it’s amazing, besides GIANT LUFFY IS CANON NOW AND IM SO HAPPY ✨( I always thought he gave giant energy AND I WAS RIGHT )

It's good that @crepes-suzette-373 made this post because I've been wanting to voice my thoughts on this topic for a while. Iti's nothing new, but I personally find the concept of 恋/koi within the story very interesting, as I think it's the word chosen to convey Sanji's feelings for Nami deliberately. I don't think it's a topic up for debate as there's no much depth in it, but anyway, I want to post my ramblings on Sanji, how he feels about Nami and women and the perception others have for that.

恋/koi (love) as a concept is significant, and I think it will gain weight later in the story. After all, it has been heavily present from the beginning, since Sanji first mentioned it in Arlong Park, going to Hancock and Gloriosa referring to a famous East Blue's poem (Hancock's love for Luffy reminisced Gloriosa to the same love that former Amazon Lily's empresses developed), and even going through Chopper on SBS.

It's a concept that I doubt will fall on deaf ears, as in this post, I believe too that it will potentially have a significant role in the future, be it for Hancock or Sanji's side (or both).

And when it comes to Sanji, it's always been in relation to Nami (except for that one time in Dressrossa, but it was the time he fell for Viola's lies when she still pretended to be Violet).

Indeed, 恋 is exclusively romantic, and in fact I have seen some translators choose to translate it as “true love". Furthermore, it connotes “desire, longing, wanting” and refers specifically to the “falling in love” part of it.

But all of this, the part in which the author 'lets us know' that this is how Sanji feels for Nami and that's when he brings up this 'East Blue poem', that hasn't been worded by Sanji, at least yet.

Bear with me. Back in Punk Hazard, Sanji used ホレち/horechi (from verb 惚れる/horeru) which means “to fall in love”. And then, in WCI, as we already know, he does indeed use the verb 好き/suki when Nami hugs him. Compared to 恋/koi or 愛/ai, it is a much more relaxed and informal verb.

Funnily, much, much later in the story, in chapter 1005 during the Wano arc, when confronted to Black Maria, he says "I want to love all the ladies" and he uses the verb 愛したい/aishitai ('I want to love', literally). And then, in the most recent chapters, when he fights S-Shark to protect Nami, he says 愛の力/ai no chikara (the power of love). What's different from 恋/koi? Well, 恋 is used only for romantic feelings, while 愛 (which he used to refer to all the ladies) is not necessarily romantic. In fact, it refers to a kind of pure and selfless love.

So, maybe, maybe Sanji still has to have some development to know truly what kind of feelings he truly harbors, and learn what he really wants.

Further in the analysis (and I'm aware this is already a pretty cheesy post) I went on to know how others perceive Sanji's relationship with Nami.

In Thriller Bark, Absalom said 妙 に 執着/myō ni shūchaku (deep concern and attachment) to how the Penguin zombie, with Sanji's shadow, felt for Nami (that “he was strangely obsessed over her”). Later on, he says that Nami is "the woman he wanted to protect"/守りたかった.

In Gyojin Island, 過剰 に 反応/kajō ni hannō is said by Hody's pirates, which referred to him overreacting to attacks on Nami.

Robin brings attention to the topic in chapter 1078 by saying "if Nami screams, someone is gonna rush in instantly".

And let's not forget the most famous:

This is part of my reasoning and why I believe that Sanji, despite him being the one in love with Nami throughout all the story and it being an idea very present in the manga and the characters in it, might not have yet figured out how he feels and what he wants when it comes to women and love.

My love, I'll be honest with you, I don't know much about Namur so this may seem a bit oc in his personality but my dear gyojins also deserve love and seeing that almost nobody (or rather nobody) talks about him, well I'll be the one to take the first step even though it may or may not be the best.

And I'll make it platonic yandere since you want him to be best friends with a mermaid

Namur is extremely protective of his mermaid friend. Due to his nature as a shark gyojin, as well as the more delicate nature of mermaids

We all remember the Sabondy arc and how valuable mermaids are in the slave market, Namur, as an experienced pirate in one of the four most fearsome crews at sea, should know this better than anyone

So he will always be making sure of your safety, which means that you will always be under the keen eyes of the gyojin especially when they are near land or on islands where the hostility of humans towards creatures like you and him is well known.

Namur is like the older brother who feels that he is the only one who can take care of you properly, he even feels that his human comrades are not careful enough with you so he takes care of your meals

Namur is careful with anyone who approaches you especially men, he knows that men can have bad intentions and take advantage of you, if you want friends, they will only be the ship's nurses, Whitebeard or the other commanders and only because they can take care of you if there is danger

When you want to explore the sea, of course when the crew is resting from exploring new places, Namur will be by your side accompanying you or at a prudent distance if you want to be "alone" although the truth is you will never have the luxury of being alone unless he is dead

If his friend is sad, discouraged or even hurt, Namur cares deeply and will do everything he can to cheer her up or heal her wounds. His protective nature intensifies at these times, showing a softer and more compassionate side. After all, your emotional stability is important to him.

Namur is quite loyal to his mermaid friend, even above other friendships or alliances in his crew. In fact, it is up to the same level of loyalty that he has with Whitebeard or his other commander brothers.

Day 87: Least favorite part of Gyojin Island arc?

It has always seemed to me to be a bit of a long arc for what it is. There is the occasional major revelation and we are given some context to keep in mind going forward, but this arc ends up being more fanservice than anything else. It serves for us to see a bit where the mugiwaras are in terms of power after the timeskip and not much else.

And also, Hody is the most boring villain ever. I get it because Oda didn't intend to give us a big villain in this arc, he's not there for that and it's clear when he's defeated twice (one of them not even by Luffy, Zoro defeats him the first time), but holy crap he's boring.

If you were in charge of a One Piece rewrite, would you make Sanuso official at one certain point/arc of the story or make them slowburn with a climax at the very end?

I honestly don't like slowburns with the couple getting together at the very end because it doesn't leave room and time to explore their romantic relationship. But, you know, it can be considered a slowburn since One Piece is so fucking long.

I have this whole concept and whenever I'm talking about Sanuso without mentioning any point in the story specifically just assume this is that timeline:

Skypiea: They catch feelings for each other. Kind of. They don't know exactly what they feel, but they know there's something.

Water 7/Enies Lobby: Okay, yeah, they're down bad and refuse to talk things out but they become closer and closer. Pining best friends.

Thriller Bark: Still pining. Still best friends. They're so in love it hurts to watch.

Sabaody: The "Fuck, I couldn't confess my feelings and now it's too late. I hate it here" moment

Gyojin Island: They return to Sabaody and they have like, this moment in Fishman Island and they finally start dating.

Punk Hazard: They're dating and I feel the need to mention that all the moments Usopp confuses Nami with Sanji and then is disappointed it isn't him is because they're dating.

Dressrosa: Nothing happens bc they barely are together but Robin and Usopp talk about Sanji while Sanji does the same with Nami (when they aren't busy fighting idk).

Zou: The "Oh, my boyfriend is getting married to somebody else. Please, Luffy, bring him back to me" Usopp moment

Whole Cake: The "I don't want to get married to somebody I don't love bc I'm in love with Usopp" Sanji moment

Wano: They reunite and have the cheesiest most romantic moment ever that could even be considered a marriage proposal.

Egghead: Nothing important I just wanted to mention that Usopp would love Sanji's cute outfit there.
