Please scroll down to the video to find out how it goes.
What are the benefits of strong legs?
Solid legs provide several benefits for your overall health and fitness with squats. Here are some of the key advantages:
Improved balance and stability: Strong legs help you maintain balance and strength, preventing falls and reducing the risk of injury.
Increased mobility and flexibility: Strong legs allow you to move more freely and flexibly, improving your overall range of motion and reducing stiffness.
Enhanced athletic performance: Strong legs are essential for many sports and physical activities, such as running, jumping, and cycling. Having strong legs can help you perform better and achieve your fitness goals.
Reduced risk of injury: Strong legs can help support your body and reduce the risk of injury to your knees, hips, and ankles. This is particularly important as you age and become more susceptible to injuries.
Improved metabolism: The muscles in your legs are some of the largest in your body, and building strength in these muscles can help boost your metabolism and burn more calories.
Increased bone density: Strength training for your legs can help improve bone density and reduce the risk of osteoporosis, especially for women.
Having strong legs is an essential aspect of physical health and fitness and can positively impact many areas of your life.
Video: 300 Squats Every Day for 30 Days
What are the muscles of the legs?
The muscles of the legs are some of the largest and most powerful muscles in the body. They are responsible for many essential functions, such as walking, running, jumping, and standing upright. Here are the major muscle groups in the legs:
Quadriceps: The quadriceps are a group of four muscles located in the front of the thigh. They are responsible for extending the knee and straightening the leg.
Hamstrings: The hamstrings are a group of three muscles in the back of the thigh. They are responsible for flexing the knee and bending the leg.
Glutes: The glutes, or buttocks muscles, are a group of three muscles located in the back of the hip. They are responsible for extending the hip and rotating the thigh.
Adductors: The adductors are a group of muscles on the inner thigh. They are responsible for bringing the legs together and stabilizing the pelvis.
Abductors: The abductors are a group of muscles on the outer hip. They are responsible for moving the legs away from the body and stabilizing the pelvis.
Calves: The calves are a group of two muscles located on the back of the lower leg. They are responsible for flexing the ankle and pointing the foot downward.
These muscles work together to provide strength, stability, and mobility to the legs and are essential for many everyday activities and athletic performance.
What are the best sets and reps for building muscle?
The best sets and reps for building muscle will depend on several factors, including your fitness level, training experience, and specific goals. However, some general guidelines can help you design an effective muscle-building workout:
Aim for 3–4 sets per exercise. Performing 3–4 sets of an exercise allows you to target the muscle group with enough volume to stimulate growth without overtaxing your body.
Perform 8–12 reps per set. This rep range is ideal for building muscle because it provides enough tension and stress on the muscle fibers to promote hypertrophy or muscle growth.
Rest for 60–90 seconds between sets. Taking short rest periods helps your muscles recover and maintain intensity throughout your workout.
Increase weight or reps gradually over time: As you get stronger, gradually increasing the weight or reps can help challenge your muscles and promote further growth.
Focus on compound exercises: Compound exercises such as squats, deadlifts, and bench presses work multiple muscle groups at once, making them highly effective for building overall muscle mass.
Incorporate various exercises: Using multiple exercises that target different muscle groups can help prevent plateaus and keep your workouts challenging and effective.
It’s important to note that muscle building is a gradual process that requires consistency, proper nutrition, and sufficient rest and recovery. Consult a certified personal trainer or exercise professional to design a workout plan tailored to your needs and goals.
Why is Consistency Important for Going to the Gym?
Consistency is one of the most important factors when going to the gym and achieving your fitness goals. Here are a few reasons why consistency is so important:
Builds habits: Consistently going to the gym helps to build habits that become ingrained in your daily routine. The more you go to the gym, the easier it becomes to make it a part of your lifestyle.
Increases progress: Consistency in your workouts helps you progress steadily toward your goals. When you consistently challenge your muscles, they adapt and strengthen, leading to better results.
Helps maintain motivation: Consistency helps to maintain your motivation and keep you on track with your fitness goals. When you see the progress you’re making, it becomes easier to stay motivated and committed to your workout routine.
Improves mental health: Consistent exercise has been shown to improve mental health by reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. Going to the gym regularly can be a great way to improve your overall well-being.
Promotes discipline: Consistently going to the gym requires discipline and commitment, which can help you develop these qualities in other areas of your life.
Consistency is crucial for achieving your fitness goals and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. By making exercise a regular part of your routine, you can build habits, make steady progress, stay motivated, and enjoy the many benefits of regular physical activity.

okay very random idea but what about paul and reader going to the gym together and reader is doing the leg press/hack squat machine (the one where you push your legs out with weights on the thing your feet are pushing) and reader is like not thinking she can do anymore but paul comes and spots her and it's super fluffy casual dominance of paul just pushing her while also making sure she's safe
i love this😭
"paul i can't-" you whimpered, legs bending back into your chest as you struggled to straighten them with the added weights paul had put on.
he let out a breathy laugh, squatting down next to you, "yes you can," he reassured, pressing his lips to your temple for a quick kiss when your frown deepened.
"'s gonna crush me-" you whined, dramatically dropping your head back against the headrest, eliciting another laugh from your imprinter who just shook his head as he stood back up to his full height.
you couldn't help the way you were ogling him as he got back up, suddenly much more concerned with the way his grey sweatpants were hanging low on his waist, the black t-shirt he had on desperately clinging to him like a second skin. it didn't help the way everything outlined his muscles so clearly and you quickly found yourself struggling to focus.
"'m not gonna let it crush you," paul reassured with a breathy laugh, cupping your jaw so he could pull your attention back to him when he realized you were definitely daydreaming.
as soon as your eyes met his and he was sure you were paying attention, he slid his hands down to your shoulders so he could push you forward and slide down into the seat behind you. as he pulled you back to rest against him in between his legs, you were doing your best not to totally get crushed by the weights slammed against your shoes.
paul didn't let you struggle for long, coming to rest his feet on the outsides of yours so he could help relieve some of the weight from your legs. you let a heavy sigh of relief, relaxing back into his chest which had him chuckling as he wrapped his arms around you, "just 1 more for me, yea?" he asked, lips curling into a smile when you huffed but gave a small nod.
"there you go," paul encouraged when you stretched your legs back out, struggling a bit as you had nearly fully extended them, "you got it princess," paul reassured, "nice and slow," he added, bringing his feet back up against the machine so he could spot you as you lowered it back down.
as soon as you had brought it back down, you were letting out a rather dramatic sigh of relief and dropping your feet off to the side to give your legs some much needed relief.
paul laughed, sliding his hands down to splay out against your thighs, giving the tender muscles a gentle squeeze, "such a good job," he mused, pressing a quick kiss to your temple.

was dying doing hip thrusts today and used ur “would dick grayson cry in the hip thrust” and that genuinely helped so thank u for that 🫡
I have seen god in the hip thrust machine and not in a good way. Nothing will humble you more than feeling your glutes fatigue. I have also been ruined (not in a good way) by the hack squat. I've been adding that in more these days as I finally say fuck it about being quad dominant, and good lord. That machine leaves me crying and gasping. I'm covered in sweat, my heart is hammering. My vision is gone lmao. It has humbled me more than any man, I'll tell you that.
I saw a guy in the hip thrust the other day who was thrusting three plates no sweat. I gave him a WIDE berth. That's easily more than twice my bodyweight and he didn't even have a pad or foam block on his hips. Insanity.
#weightlifting#asks#personal#dick grayson#nightwing#dick wouldn't cry in the hip thrust#he'd just max out at 4 plates and shrug#insanity#to backup my own hack squat experiences#I DID see a guy the other day get out of the hack squat and just lie facedown on the floor#he was ok people checked on him#but like that's the mood#post hack squat you are Worm#Worm of Pain#you don't know where you are you just need to Touch Ground

10 CYBERPUNK ARTISTS THAT'LL JACK INTO YOUR SKULL AND REWRITE YOUR TASTE IN MUSIC
Your auditory implants won’t know what hit ‘em.
Right then, reader — pull up your faux-leather trousers and strap on your chrome-plated headphones. We’re blasting through the corrupted circuits of the 2025 underground, bringing you 10 contemporary artists who sound like they’re scoring a riot in Neo-Tokyo while being hacked in real time. Yes, there’s synths. Yes, there’s screaming. No, Grimes isn’t on this list.
MACHINE GIRL Genre: Gabberpunk, Cybercore, ADHD-core Ever wanted to be mugged in a server room by a rave demon? Machine Girl has you covered. It’s breakbeats plus punk plus absolute chaos. Every track is a manic assault from a frothing modem on fire. Start with “MG Ultra” — it's like doing parkour through a collapsing arcade. Machine Girl is a project from New York-based Matt Stephenson, who started it in 2013. What began as breakcore mutated fast into a multi-genre freakout. Live performances are frenzied, sweaty, and borderline ritualistic, often featuring live drums and mosh pit energy in tiny venues. Bandcamp: https://machinegirl.bandcamp.com Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0WwSkZ7LtFUFjGjMZBMt6T
TENGUSHEE Genre: Faewave, Electrofolk, Cyberdrift, Post-Ratcore This glitching shadow-beast of the net is what happens if a faerie takes too many digital drugs and starts a resistance movement in a cursed VR chatroom. Tengushee doesn’t just cross genres — they light them on fire, digitise the ashes, and make a concept album out of it. Expect story-driven drops, haunted samplers, and the occasional whisper from the void. Tengushee operates like a ghost in the wires, often dropping full-concept albums with narrative arcs tied to multimedia projects, zines, or even encoded tone signals. Based somewhere between London and Faewave, their work includes collaborations with glitch-artists and mythmakers, crafting a world as deep as it is weird. Bandcamp: https://tengushee.bandcamp.com Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/5pPzJk8q2YbVRo3dEiE5rZ
PERTURBATOR Genre: Darksynth, CyberGoth Former black metal guitarist turns synth wizard and soundtracks the end of civilisation in style. Every track feels like the opening credits to a forbidden anime you found on a hacked VHS tape. His recent albums dip into goth rock, coldwave, and grim industrial — a sonic warehouse rave thrown inside a haunted monolith. James Kent is the man behind Perturbator, rising out of the French synthwave explosion in the early 2010s. What set him apart was the sheer cinematic density of his work, as well as his willingness to evolve. His later albums feel like full-blown existential crises scored with analog doom. Bandcamp: https://perturbator.bandcamp.com Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0O02jvPzKT1kQEYg5XEqRA
GUNSHIP Genre: Synthwave with Dad Issues Think “Stranger Things” but horny for Blade Runner. GUNSHIP slaps synth arpeggios across your face while whispering movie references into your ear. Songs like “Tech Noir” and “Dark All Day” are pure neon cocaine. Bonus points for the video with Tim Capello, the sax guy from The Lost Boys. Formed in the UK, GUNSHIP emerged from the ashes of alternative rock band Fightstar. What they lacked in punk energy, they made up for with lush synth arrangements and cinematic ambition. With vocal guests ranging from horror icons to YouTube animators, they’re a love letter to analog future-fantasies. Bandcamp: https://gunshipmusic.bandcamp.com Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/3dD9W6Gh8Mo9Tu4S7ydz8q
SHREDDER 1984 Genre: Darksynth, CyberMetal French producer who mashes heavy metal energy into a screaming cyberpunk blender. His album "Dystopian Future" is all dark atmosphere and adrenaline. This is music for doing squats with a neural interface strapped to your head. Shredder 1984 is exactly what it says on the tin: shred. A project born from metal roots but raised on VHS aesthetics and neon grime, Shredder builds tracks that feel like boss fights in an underground data vault. Occasionally throws in face-melting guitar solos for good measure. Bandcamp: https://shredder1984.bandcamp.com Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/2YlR5FzF4XWgeXGxR2b3Vh
REVOLTING PUPPETS Genre: Cyberpunk Punk These Swiss psychos deliver rebellious punk fused with grinding electronics. The kind of band that would stage-dive into a riot squad. Add in LED helmets and maximum cyber attitude and you’ve got a live act worth risking a black eye for. Born in Bern, Switzerland, the Puppets are part cyber-art project, part live-action political tantrum. The band leans hard into performance art, complete with backstories and a lore-rich website that feels like an ARG. Think Rage Against the Machine, but upgraded with malware. Website: http://revoltingpuppets.com
CLIPPING. Genre: Sci-fi Horror Rap Experimental hip hop trio fronted by Daveed Diggs that brings tales of malfunctioning AIs, haunted ships, and cosmic terror over glitch-heavy beats. Their albums feel like audio novellas for doomed protagonists. Start with "There Existed an Addiction to Blood" or "Visions of Bodies Being Burned." clipping. formed in Los Angeles, with William Hutson and Jonathan Snipes providing the surgical, abrasive production. Their use of silence, static, and horror tropes makes them unique in the rap world. And yes, Diggs was in Hamilton, but don’t let that fool you — these guys write soundtracks for existential dread. Bandcamp: https://clppng.bandcamp.com Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/7cNNNhdJDrt3vgQjwSavNf
BEAST IN BLACK Genre: Cyber Metal, Synth Power If you're into big riffs, bigger vocals, and synths that sound like they were mined from an alien war machine, Beast in Black delivers. Their album "Dark Connection" is basically a concept record about AI girlfriends and cyber-samurai. Finnish-Greek metal band formed by former Battle Beast guitarist Anton Kabanen, Beast in Black are unapologetically bombastic. They mix anime aesthetics with power metal drama, and if you can get past the over-the-top vocals, you’ll find a band that gets how to marry synths with shredding. Website: https://beastinblack.com Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/5wJ1z2KgFvb1GQ9ApnFlog
OKLOU Genre: Glitchpop, Cyberambient A softer, prettier ghost in the machine. Oklou blends vaporous vocals with ambient electronics and medieval fantasy energy. It’s like if a fairy princess got lost inside a Sega Dreamcast. Oklou is the moniker of French artist Marylou Mayniel. With classical music training and a background in club culture, she creates tracks that are emotionally dense but digitally fragile. Her work occupies the misty edges of cyberpunk, where romance and signal loss overlap. Bandcamp: https://oklou.bandcamp.com Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/1FqqOl9itIUpXr4jZPIVoT
NAZAR Genre: Deconstructed Club, Warwave Amsterdam-based producer with beats sharp enough to cut through reinforced concrete. Inspired by war, trauma, and classic cyberpunk anime. His upcoming album "Demilitarize" might be the most realistic sonic vision of future conflict you’ll hear this year. Nazar was born in Angola and raised in Europe, and his music reflects that blend of postcolonial tension and Western club evolution. His productions on labels like Hyperdub use field recordings, mechanical rhythms, and unflinching political commentary. Harsh, heavy, and honest. Bandcamp: https://nazarmusic.bandcamp.com Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/1pQWsZQehhS4wavwh7Fe8D

The robot didn’t want to wear the hat: and that’s fine. All you can do is try. All you can do is hack the machine that prints the hats and go skipping through it’s kaleidoscopic innards. It’s a wave of a hand. It’s no time wasted, if there’s such a thing as wasted time. They said that if you kept being late to class there’d be consequences, but you could access the registration computer from the rooftop of C block and look down at the campus and be exactly as late as you wanted. You could be terrifically late. It’s a blink of an eye. And this is SO easy! The machine that prints the hats is easy, some squat little AI inside turning and looking at you, bleary-eyed. Goodbye! The security cameras all over this casino? Trivial. You can see a man about to spill his coffee. He’s spilled his coffee. Down in custodial a pink LED clicks on. This is a casino? They store money here? But what would you spend the money on? So, the rent’s due, but what are they going to do about that? Evict you? These are magic tricks. This is sleight of hand. Small fry don’t get to see the real stuff. Once you made it to class on time and there was a box on your desk and right between then and the end of the period you spent 6 months in the dream of a dream of some glacial, oily thing. You rearranged planets in the sky between your thumb and index finger. The ocean in the shape of a ring. Click your fingers. It’s cameras. Scrub through the footage. Pay attention, as much as you can. It’s just a job: and that’s fine. Hack the machine that prints the hats. Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.
This week on COUNTER/Weight 0.4: New Perspectives In the event of a crisis, remain calm!

Pushed myself through leg day today without whining for Ares
My legs are going to hurt so bad tomorrow man. For some reason I thought it was smart to do Hack squats before leg curls/extensions. And then to top it off I walked a mile right after the leg curls. idk what was going through my head when setting up the squat machine first😭😭

So I go to the gym in the am before work (~7am). It was recently holiday break for schools here and all these young ass high school kids were at the gym when i was there. props to them for not sleeping in until noon, y'all built different than me. but this lead to a whole new cast of npc characters in my life (i am indeed that weird person who notices someone new, a new car in the lot, etc. i will never talk to you. i am simply ~observing~).
Let me give you some necessary info - I am:
5'10"
a lady
not in high school, almost 40 but still told late 20s/early 30s by many who don't know (thank you night shift, i attribute my lack of aging to you <3)
A lot of these high schoolers are probably in some sports, they got that vibe.
I'm minding my own business as these two young kids walk in (see: old). first thing i notice? Short. they are VERY short. Short in general, not just as dudes. I would dare say these two are somewhere in the 5'-5'4" land.
My brain immediately AFTG short-circuited and all I could see were the Minyard twins lol They didn't really look like them, I don't think they're twins and maybe not related at all, but i only have two braincells.
They start benching and it's clear they workout together all the time and ALL i can think about is if andrew and aaron go to the gym together and they have quiet but helpful lifting sessions. all soft and brotherly and wholesome and i just am consumed by the thought.
but then a few days later i leave the cable pulley up on the highest setting (again, see tall lol) and migrate over to the pec deck. Now, most of the people in the gym don't talk to me (thank you gym goers lol), and the only time they do is to see I'm done using something. One of them (andrew in my mind lol) comes over to ask if i'm done with the cable station and i tell him all yours.
I'm still minding my business on the pec deck, starting my next set, when i see out of my peripherals that the dude working out near them had to come over and move the pulley down for them.
I am CONSUMED by thoughts of Andrew and Aaron struggling when a tall was the one there before them. having to ask for help when a pulley is too high, when the hack squat is set on the tall setting, when the bar is on the highest point of the squat rack when Matt was using it as a makeshift pull up bar.
The gym usually isn't built for short people and some of the machines are for sure harder to use when short, but what makes me laugh so hard is that the short women who come to the gym i never see ask for help moving something, they have some kind of plan/modification that allows them to adjust everything by themselves, but these dudes were like fuck that i'm going to make a tall do it.
the twins prefer to make kevin do it because it's fun to have him do things for them, he might complain as he does it but he won't ever say no. they hate asking allison but when only the three of them are there they still will, she'll do it but she laughs at them the whole time. matt is too helpful and will move anything he uses to a more normal height if any of the shorts are at the gym at the same time as him.
idk. these are just ramble thoughts that literally have me in a chokehold. i want, no i NEED, more foxes gym content lol

my fellow lifting bro! I thought you might get a giggle from my silliness. so, im still pretty new to lifting in a gym setting. id been lifting at home using dumbells. Yesterday, I'm doing leg presses and a friend I made because we overlap on our workouts stopped me ask since when do I leg press 450lbs.
Me: HUHH?
I didn't account for the weight of the machine when racking plates!! Then did 10x15 sets.
So. I guess I can leg press 450lbs. 🤭
Always include the bar weight and machine weight! I always see people hating on women especially in the gym bench-pressing just the bar and just the bar, not realizing that your average gym bar can start at 25-35 lbs. Your 120 lb gym newbie is starting out at 30% of their bodyweight or so!
Congrats on the leg press! Try hack squats or pendulum squats next if you're looking for a challenge. Those machines will make 25 lbs feel like 2500.
