The idea of Zuko discovering that he has feelings for Katara after he joins the Gaang is just so delicious to me. Like the idea of this boy wrestling with a crush that (he thinks) will never be returned because she’s clearly determined to hate him forever - that’s like candy to me.

Even after they’ve resolved the conflict between them, my favorite headcanon is that Zuko is completely convinced Katara would never be interested in him as more than a friend, and frankly, he feels honored that she would even offer him that much.

Meanwhile, Katara is like actively having an inner meltdown over the fact that there’s a WAR going on, and she can’t stop fantasizing about kissing this boy who was her enemy until 5 seconds ago.

sea god rafayel but put a kdrama spin on him (thinking specifically in terms of tale of the nine-tailed). rafayel has lived for years, decades, eons, swimming across the seven seas in search of his bride. lemurian families send him ladies of their own clans and he does not even spare them a blink (or even a bubble of his time, ha). and all of a sudden, one day, he chanced upon a human who seemed to be drowning. though he usually cared less about any human's survival, something innate forced him to go save them. so he did, and he found her, his bride. thousands of years spent roaming the seas and now here she was, staring right back at him with wide eyes.

cut to mc, the woman he had just saved. she had been a huge believer of mermaids ever since she was young. maybe she read a lot of fairy tales and watched too many conspiracy videos (those that talked at length about the great unknowns of the sea and that something sinister definitely lurked in the dark depths of the waters), but she had always believed that mermaids existed. many people had told her to give it up and stop believing in fairy tales, but she never did. and now here she was, face to face with a mermaid!

as rafayel stared at mc with wide eyes, brain thinking my bride, it's been so long, mc fumbled and grabbed her phone. rafayel asked, "what are you doing?" and mc did not answer; mc snapped a photo of him and immediately jumped to her feet, internally cheering with joy. ha, get ready to eat your words, tara, you owe me fifty bucks!
