In Pain, In Happiness

Life feels like my fate will go nowhere,

My role in life has never been granted.

A bleak view of what may be reality,

But a run-in with the wolf gave me clarity.

In pain, I can find my courage to brave the deadly future.

The only thing to fear is fear itself

And I’m standing to face my fears.

Maybe the future has plans to topple my kingdom,

But I will fight ‘till my last breath to keep moving forward.

In happiness, I can cherish what I have now.

Reminiscing about all I’ve done and what I can do,

Finding my purpose as an extension of myself

So I may strike my sword onward into the unknown

To truly know what it feels like to dance with Death.

In pain, in happiness, 

Whatever they need from you, 

They can count on you, 

Don't you think?

I sit inside a draped skeleton

A wooden skeleton

The kind with creaking noises at every lunge

Draped with soft Grey cloth.

I glance at the vipers tongue

Lashing out as sunlight shines down upon it

From the crooked corner.

I see ghosts of lilacs

Echoes of mourning doves

A billowing steam boils over my hands

I inhale the breeze as it catches my neck.

Ticking of a clock serves forth no purpose

Not amidst the echoes of nicotine walls

Not amidst agony washed phantoms

Not amidst whimsical dreams of what is.

I sit a sipping my usual morning coffee

Admiring the forethought I had years ago

Sunbeams lighting up the craters on my cheeks

I still the creaking chair and grin.

I'm not sure what it would be since 'Gothic' is already Ethans ship prefix, but maybe Ravens ship prefix would be 'Written/writing' or 'Literature'

Better Off

I don’t know if you can feel it, but we’re better off talking to each other than both feeling or being alone. I don’t care about a relationship right now, but talking could really bring us home. I’d rather be closer to you than anyone on my friends list; I know nobody’s told you, but you, girl, have a gift; the best gift of all is having someone who’ll sit and listen. One of these days, I hope we’ll both fit in. ‘Til then, let’s just get to know each other one on one; you are the best kept secret that the Lord has sent. We are, indeed, better off conversing than being alone.

The Feeling Of Loving You

Loving you felt like the feeling of changing into your swimsuit to go to the hotel pool. 

Loving you felt like the transition of the days from cold to warm.

Loving you felt like like the feeling of your favorite song coming on twice on the radio.

Loving you felt like tennis shoes walking the fairgrounds in the summer. 

Loving you felt like cotton candied kisses and fireworks that light up the town. 

Loving you felt like the feeling of seeing your first shooting star. 

Loving you felt like a mint melt-a-way between your lips.

Loving you felt like a the feeling of going to a drive in movie. 

Loving you felt like the feeling of your first high school dance. 

Loving you felt like sunflowers and roses.

Loving you felt like the feeling of going to a autumn pumpkin patch. 

Loving you felt like happiness.
